elliot x fem reader
lowercase on purpose
not proofread
2.3k words
synopsis; you and elliot were best friends, and despite being flirtatious, there was never really anything going on between you two.. right?
Chapter 1: History class
junior year was rough. the new schedule adjustments, not knowing anyone in this new school, and being smart enough to not completely fail but also not smart enough to effortlessly pass all weighed down on you. you could get by being alone, but it was never easy. that was up until you met elliot.
“elliot, we have to finish this history project.” you advised. of course, you didn’t actually mean we. you always ended up carrying the weight of the work whenever you worked with him. normally, doing all the work in a group project would drive you up the wall. but whenever you got around elliot, you felt as if his presence was enough. you never pushed for anything more from him.
he was also your first best-friend, and you were his. nothing could compare to the nights you spent on the phone with him, whether you were doing algebra homework, or trying to pick out a dress for your first party, he was always there.
elliot took a pull from the blunt you both were smoking and it became infinitely hard for you to not stare. “y/n,” elliot started as he exhaled the smoke, “we have more than 2 weeks to finish this. and all we really have to do is copy what we wrote in our notebooks onto the poster board! it can’t be that difficult angel”
there was that nickname again. he’s used it plenty of times before now, but its weight never faltered because it always made you weak in the knees.
“but still, i’d like to finish this now so we have time for ourselves later,” you sighed, and in an attempt to hide your flustered face, you began copying down your notes to your poster.
“time for ourselves? what do you have in mind?” elliot teased as a sly smile appeared on his face, taking another hit from the blunt.
he didn’t know if the weed was making him bolder, or if it was the way the light from his window perfectly dawned on your relaxed figure, but elliot began to admire your features.
you were so soft with him, never making him feel smaller than you. always taking his feelings into consideration and looking out for him. even now, where you seem uptight, elliot couldn’t help but admire.
he couldn’t pinpoint just exactly what about you in this moment was enticing him like never before, but regardless of what it was, he couldn’t stop staring. and unbeknownst to elliot, you sensed him eyeing you down.
“y’know if you keep looking at me like that, i won’t get any work done.” you giggled, looking up at him.
“well that would be just terrible” he mused as he got up from his seat on the floor and moved closer to you on the bed to pass you the joint. he then held the blunt up to your lips and as you inhaled, you looked up at him. his eyes were low, red, and they never seemed to leave yours. he was so close, you were able to feel the warmth radiating off his body, and somehow, you never felt more comfortable.
his cool fingertips had just barely grazed your lips but that single, electrifying touch left you longing for more of him, and it took every ounce of strength you had to not ask.
after what felt like a century (but was just 6 seconds), he removed the blunt from in between your lips and watched you inhale the smoke, then exhale slowly. everything you did was hypnotic to him, and he couldn’t get enough.
the next day, you sat with jules and rue in the cafeteria. elliot decided to eat off campus for lunch, and you were glad that you hadn’t seen him all day yet. if you were being honest, you had been avoiding him all day.
you weren’t mad or upset at him by any means, but you just didn’t know what to say to him. i mean, what could you say? your relationship was always flirty, so why has it just hit you now?
“can i tell you guys something?” you blurted to your friends sitting across from you.
as you asked, you started to mindlessly scroll through you and elliot’s messages. you had never thought your feelings towards elliot were anything other than platonic up until a few weeks ago, and yesterday had only confirmed that you wanted him more than you’d like to admit.
“yeah sure, wassup?” rue asked, munching on her sandwich
“would you ever see me and elliot as.. you know,” you hesitated, “a thing? like together?”
“wait.. you guys aren’t ‘a thing?’” mocked jules. “i could've sworn you guys we’re together!?”
rue laughed to herself as she began to speak, “yeah i mean, you guys are always flirting with each other? i just assumed you guys were dating ‘nd just didn’t say.”
“you think so?” you questioned, fiddling with your well-manicured nails. you never saw anything between elliot and you until recently so there is no way that everyone else saw what you were so blind to.. right?
“yes, y/n, oh my god! i can’t believe you guys aren’t already dating!” jules exclaimed while giggling with rue. “i never want to hang out with the two of you alone because i feel like a third wheel!”
you were utterly surprised by the words that were coming out of your best friend's mouths. there was no way other people could see you guys together. there was no way they truly thought that.
you made a face as if all the gears in your head were turning, and in all honesty, they were. they were working their hardest as you started thinking that if everyone sees you both as a couple, that would have to mean he shows some sort of romantic feelings for you, right? he has to have looked at you in some way or said something to make everyone think you guys went out, right?!
“wait so you think he likes me too?” you excitedly asked.
“if his goo-goo eyes everytime you walk in weren’t a dead giveaway to how he feels, you should know he speaks about you every second of the day..” jules confessed, “whenever he starts telling me pointless ass stories about things you’ve guys have done together, i honestly just zone out.”
“how haven’t you noticed any of this? it’s so stupidly obvious, it’s not even funny” rue mumbled with a mouth full of food.
“i don’t know?! i just never thought of him — or us like that!” you said, laughing exasperatedly.
“probably ‘cause she’s in love too!” jules teasingly exclaimed. you knew she was joking, but for as long as you’ve known him, all you ever wanted to do was spend all day with him. he always showered you with attention and quality time. and even if he didn’t, you’d still drop everything to be with him. there was never any words or actions that needed to be spoken or done between the two of you in order for you to feel appreciated and loved.
loved. you would never bat an eye if you used that word to describe your relationship with him before.
“you guys should just get together,” rue said, crashing your train of thought as she gathered her stuff for her next class, “you're both ‘best friends’ already so nothing would have to change, right?”
you didn’t respond.
on one hand, it seemed like there was absolutely nothing to lose. apparently, he’s given multiple signs that he likes you so why not? why couldn’t you shake the feeling that everything would change?
“y/n, you don't have to make a decision right now, but remember that elliot would never do anything to make whatever you guys have going on weird. he genuinely cares,” jules reaffirmed, standing up from the table.
“thanks jules, but i honestly don’t think i’m gonna ‘make a decision.’ i just want to let things work themselves out so i don’t have to” you said, getting you things and going to your history class.
walking into your class, you immediately sensed elliot was there, despite him being sat in the far back. you didn’t really know what to say after that night in his room, on top of the bombshell rue and jules had just dropped on you.
as you walked into the class, you tried to scan for an empty seat that wasn’t the seat next to him. normally, you’d sit there with no hesitation, but you hadn’t prepared yourself enough to have the conversation that so desperately needs to be held.
fuck. you thought as you saw there were no more empty seats, annoyance written on your face.
you made your way to the desk nexts his and tried your hardest to avoid any unnecessary eye contact.
skipping this class would’ve been easier than enduring 45 minutes next to someone you’re trying your hardest to steer clear of but some shit just can’t be helped.
as you sat down and the lesson began, everything seemed to be going well except for the watchful pair of eyes that followed your every move.
you felt them as you picked up your pencil to jot down notes, as you took a sip from your water bottle, to when you opened your phone. you felt your energy being snuffed by his piercing gaze.
“maybe if i just ignore him he’ll stop.” you hoped to yourself.
15 minutes had gone by and he has not stopped once. you couldn’t figure out if he was doing it on purpose to make you freak out or if he was just that nosey but you finally had enough.
“don’t stare, it’s rude.” you seethed silently, looking at him for the first time since class started
“oh you decided you want to talk to me now? to what do i owe the honor” elliot haphazardly taunted.
“damn he noticed i was ignoring him” you thought to yourself.
“only ‘cause you’ve been staring at me for the past like, 15 minutes?”
“only ‘cause you’ve been ignoring me all day.”
“i haven’t been ignoring you?” lie 1.
“you haven’t?”
“no” lie 2.
“so why haven’t you said a word to me like, all day?”
“we just have nothing to speak about” lie 3.
“you sure? cause i heard something completely different from jules”
of course.
of course she was the reason you got caught in your lies. you internally laughed to yourself and left a mental note to never trust jules with anything even mildly important again.
but on the bright side, thank god he stopped interrogating you or else your conscience would’ve started eating you alive to feed all those lies you were spouting. i guess in an odd way, you’d be able to thank jules for saving your conscience. or maybe not.
“oh really?” you smirked “what did jules tell you then?” you couldn’t let your facade fall. you knew how to work your way out of shit, even if jules mucked up your oh-so-amazing plan.
“not much” elliot replied, “she just told me you had something to say to me”
you sighed to yourself. you could either keep playing this game of avoiding talking about your situation-ship, or come clean and possibly ruin what you both have.
you know that there’s a chance that he wants you back. but why ruin what you both have right now? it’s like when you’re doing your eyebrows and they’re absolutely perfect, but you keep plucking at them to make them even better, and before you know it, you end up over plucking and now have 2 uneven brows!
why ruin what’s already been so good to you? you’re both fine with what you were.
“well she was wrong,” you finally said. “do you have anything to say to me?” a tinge of hopefulness written in that question.
after a few seconds of silence, he replied,
“no.”
see, you knew you shouldn’t have pushed it. everything could’ve been gone in a matter of seconds.
“cool.” you uttered.
you picked up a blackberry from the bowl of fruit you were snacking on and ate it while retelling maddy and cassie everything that happened in history yesterday.
“cool?” maddy repeated “why the fuck would you say cool y/n?”
“yeah you’re giving him mixed signals” cassie chimed in.
“i honestly didn’t know what else to say like, i knew if i said anything more, i could ruin 3 years worth of friendship.”
“yeah but by not saying anything you could’ve ruined 3 years worth of friendship” sighed cassie “if one day you guys were hotboxing in his room getting close, and the next you’re giving him the cold shoulder, what’s he supposed to think?”
“it’s not like he wanted to speak about it though so why should i be the one that has to?” you asked, popping a mango cube in your mouth.
“so you want him to come to you?” maddy questioned, “i’m confused why you’re even stuck over him anyway. if you’re not dating why is your relationship this stressful? take advantage of you’re stress-free, single life girl!”
“maybe you’re right about that, i mean, if we’re not together why am i even overthinking this?” you giggled, sitting up from your bed.
“no yeah, don’t stress over shit like this. if you want him to make the first move and he doesn’t, just stay friends and find someone else” maddy suggested.
just as maddy said that, a notification popped up on your phone.
elliot 🤍; do u want to come over tmr?

what’s your favourite dynamic in TBHK? between two or more characters, esp the mysteries, toilet gang, etc!
ACK!! Don't do this to me…
I often talk the romance in tbhk, but my favourite dynamic ever is obviously is between Teru and Kou.
I don't talk enough about how much i love them! everyday i think of their relationship AND I CANT SLEEP.
They make me soooo insane.
First of all, it's a true and loving bond between them like actual sibling. Im soo jealous because it's a relationship ill never have.
Second, its the minamotos c'mon they are so adorable.
The way Kou looks up to him, genuinely aspiring to be like him even right now despite all the contradictions they have with each other is so cute. And also the way Teru will do absolutely everything in his power to keep him and Tiara safe is so endearing to me.
There's a bonus where Kou asks him what he'd do if he turned into a zombie while watching a movie about them. Teru replied saying he would be one too and exterminate humanity together.
Kou said that, trying to figure out what Teru would do if he turned into something ot human like a supernatural, but Teru had a different reaction to what he will have when Kou asked him directly about a 'what if' being a supernatural.
In this one, he doesn't think much about it because it's zombies and they aren't a real thing, and also exposing his hatred for other people and how much he doesn't give a fuck about them. Meanwhile with the one in volume 15, he was speechless because supernaturals where what he was born and raised to fight against, plus the thing threatening his and his sibling's life every day.
The fight they had in the chapter 87 exposed so much. It was clear from the beginning that Teru didn't want Kou to be an exorcist, and the fight made it even more obvious saying it would be better for him to stay home away from danger. He kept Kou distanced from supernaturals and the exorcist life because he didn't want his little brother to turn out like him.
Kou is an open minded and lovable kid who has a lot of empathy for everyone. Even if he hates Tsukasa, in the red house he still wanted to protect him from the possible danger of the house.
Teru obviously knows Kou is open to changing his mind, that's why he always reminded him of how bad supernaturals were. Teru has a special hatred with them too because it ruined his whole childhood, he just wanted to be a normal kid. That's why he tried to keep Kou safe from all of it. And when he did give him a mission to exorcise the seven school mysteries he failed and made Teru believe even more that he was not fit for the job.
He's jealous of how much Kou had a better childhood. Sure, Kou also had it pretty bad being the sole way for the house to stay in order, but at least he doesn't have countless scars from risking his life. And that it good enough for Teru, Kou isn't getting hurt and it's a win.
BHSBSHB meanwhile Kou's perspective of Teru, he looks up to him a whole lot, and all this admiration comes from the fact that first of all he's his older brother and second that he's mostly considered the strongest between Teru's co-workers as we can see at the start of the chapter of the young exorcist arc.
I COULD SAY MORE BUT I'M SUPER BUSY TODAY I'M SORRY!!
i hope i understood the ask well sbsbs

an: so we begin this journey, this is more of just world building then it is anything. we will fully get into fully in the next chapter. i wanted to give some backstory to the reader but not a whole lot
Your boot tapped rapidly against the polished tile floors of the Greyhound station. Eyes flickering around the space as people went about their business. So many lives were passing by you as you stood in line, so many normal people. Your eyes traced people in seats, their scents all mingling in your nose as you shouldered up the duffle bag that was hanging off your shoulder. You kept your head low as your hands shaking held tightly onto the cash in them. Your palms were sweating and you weren't sure why. Why were you so nervous, this was meant to be a new start for you. Getting your feet under you after the accident but for some reason there was this deep pit in your stomach, something trying to claw its way out of you.
You took in a shaky breath and briefly shook out your hands. You leaned to the side to eye the line that was up to the counter before your eyes glanced at boarding signs.
Pocatello, ID to Portland, ME – 3 day trip
That seemed about right to you, it got you the hell out of town and far far away from this place. There was no going back home after what happened, no family left to go too. Not after what had happened and finding out what it had caused in you. They were safe this way.
You took a steady breath in as you repeated the words in your head. This we're going to be alright, you were going to be okay. The thought replayed over and over in your head as you shuffled forward with the line. Your family would eventually move on with time, they had thought you died anyways. It maybe made this transition all the bit easier didn't it? Still hurt like hell knowing they had returned home and you had stepped into a world you were still getting your footing in figuring how to navigate it.
The steady chatter of people echoed in your ears as you tilted your head down. You watched as your ribcage rose and fell with each breath. You were alive. It felt good to be alive after all of this. Your eyes flickered down to the white bandaging that peeked out from your jacket, your face twisting into a grimace, the sudden flood of phantom pains in your arm had you recoiling. You could feel the hot, rancid breath. The feeling of teeth sinking deep into supple flesh and the sound of bones cracking under the weight of teeth. The heavy rake of claws embedding themselves into your flesh as you and your attacker tried to almost become one. Your eyes squeezed close as you tried to flush out the memories and center yourself back into the current.
“You alright hun?”
The voice broke you out of your trance, eyes shooting open almost in a startled panic but you remembered where you were. The concerned glance of deep brown eyes looked at you. The soft wrinkled face between small circle framed glasses and the gentle smell that came with the stranger. The smell of flowers, honey and cinnamon flooded your nose as you felt your shoulders almost relax on instinct. The old woman, shy of probably her mid 60’s, the wrinkles on her face told a story of a life well lived. She gave you a feeling of comfort that you had been missing as of recently.
“Y-yeah, sorry I just zoned out.” You stuttered out to the woman.
You watch as a look of washed over the woman’s face. It was the look of a mother who had often known when her children had lied to save face. You felt like you were under a microscope as this woman seemed to have a read on you that you didn’t quite understand. You watched as she seemed to study you and before anything someone behind the lady cleared their throat. Your eyes met with the other person and the tilt of their head and your swiveling on your heels to see that the line had moved and you were next.
You scampered forward juggling your few belongings as you made your way up to the counter. The woman behind the desk was young like you, maybe a few years older than you but you couldn’t be sure. Her jaw moved in a methodical way as she chewed her gum, slightly disinterested eyes stared at you.
“Where too?” The attendant chirped in a fake cheery tone.
“Portland, Maine. One way.” You said as you placed your money down on the counter.
The attendant stared at you for a moment, you watched as her eyes glossed over you as if apriasing you before she loudly smacked her gum. She took the money off the counter counting it out before taking what was needed from you. You watched as the woman got your ticket, the heavy sound of the machines working before she was slipping the ticket on the counter with the extra change.
“That bus doesn’t leave until late tonight. There’s a diner across the street and we got a lounge.” The attendant said she made a half attempt at motion across the station towards the lounge.
You gave a half nod of your head and small muttered thanks as you collected your money and ticket before moving out of the way. You stepped out of the way, your fingers running over the ticket and the weight of something felt like it had lifted just a little bit. Your fingers ran over the ticket, slightly smearing some of the fresh ink before you looked about. There was still time to blow and the bus didn't leave until later. You could feel exhaustion creeping into your system and maybe it was best to sit down for now and maybe get some sleep. Your boots dragged against the checked tile floors as you made your way over to some of the benches that were posted up against the wall. You stuffed your cash into the pocket of your jacket before folding your ticket and tucking it in your breast pocket. Your duffel bag slipped from your shoulder as you sat down moving about before your arms wrapped around it and head leaned on it. You brought your legs up to your chest and buried your face into the fabric of the bag. You took in a deep breath and let your eyes flutter close as you sought out the sweet reprieve of sleep.
You didn’t wake up until a couple hours later from a restless sleep. It was always that kind of sleep that never felt fulfilling and empty in a way. It was starting to become normal for you at this point, to close your eyes and be filled with a dark, inky void only to wake up feeling just as tired or even more so. As you slowly lifted your head that familial scent from the woman clouded your senses as you sat up. You rubbed your eyes for a moment and yawned before slouching into the bench shifting your duffel bag lazily to sit in your lap.
“You’re new to this, ya?” Her voice asked.
You glanced to the side to see the woman who had sat next to you with her own bags. She had been busy reading next to you and that’s when you realized that she had placed one of her shawls over you when you had been sleeping. It took you a minute to process what she was saying to you through the sleepy fog.
“New to what?” You asked.
“You know. New to this, I can tell. I can smell it on you.” The old woman said as she gently closed her book.
She watched as your eyes narrowed for a second before that flicker of realization hit you like a train. She was one of them and she knew what you were. Your eyes went a bit wide and you remembered that you had to settle down for a moment. You gave a hesitant nod of your head to her answer and slowly pulled the shawl off of your shoulders as you nervously glanced away.
“That obvious?”
“No but I can smell it. The change in you.” She murmured as she looked at you.
Something in you felt like bristling when she said the words she had. You weren’t sure how she knew what had happened to you but it made you uneasy for a moment. No one else besides Lawrence seemed to know what you were and if anyone did they didn’t say anything to you.
“I’m so sorry honey. You don’t know much about this way of life do you?” She added as she looked at you.
The way the woman looked at you could only be described as maternal. It made you feel safe and protected for the first time in the last month. It was like someone was seeing you for the first time and wasn’t telling you to hit the ground running to hope for the best. You slowly nodded your head again in answer to her, you didn’t want to mutter the words out. It only made your situation more of reality having to confront it like that and you weren’t sure you were ready to confront the beast in the mirror just yet.
“You can call me Helena. I would say I’m like you but not exactly, we are just a bit different but ever the same family under the moon, ya?” She asked you with a gentle smile.
“Yeah.” You found yourself saying to her.
You gave Helena your name and told you what little you wanted to give to her about what had happened. You had watched the expression on her face shift as you told her your story and why you were leaving. She never looked at you with a look of pity or sadness when you told her. She didn’t seem to mourn for what you had been to what you had become but took it as it was. Like it was a simple matter of fact of what had happened. In exchange, Helena had told you that she was born with it, that this is how she had always known life. She told you about her husband and children, how they had grown up and left home as well. That she was on her way back to Maine from a trip to Idaho to see her eldest son and her grandchildren. That’s when you found out you both were going to the same place and when she offered to explain more to you. That she didn’t have all the answers for your particular predicament but she could share wisdom that anyone like you two should know to navigate a world that just laid beneath the surface of what people perceived.
The hours had waned on as you sat next to Helena and talked to past the time. You had gotten up at some point and gotten food for the both of you while you waited. The sun had come and set by the time the bus for you both had been called. You picked up your bag and one of hers, the two of you in tow as you wanted to join the line to board. Helena seemed to take the lead, you trailing after her like a puppy following its mother. The thought made a smile break out on your face, maybe that’s what it was after all. You both got loaded up into the bus taking seats towards the back. You helped her get baggage set up before the two of you got settled in for the long ride across the country.
You settled into your seat next to the window, eyes glancing out the glass as you looked up. The silver beams of the moon shone down and it set something down your spine. You couldn’t tell if it was terror or anticipation. There was war raging inside of you now, the constant of wanting to reject what you had become and others that wanted to embrace what you were. You felt your eyes slowly start to drift shut as your head leaned against the cool window.
The next time you were waking up was when the bus was pulling into a stop to refuel and it was sometime in the afternoon at this point. The bus had mostly been vacant at this point as people took the hour or so to stretch their bodies and get some decent food. Your eyes were blurry from sleep and you stretched your legs out a bit as you shifted in your seat. You saw Helena standing outside smoking. You watched carefully for a moment as the woman stood out there before you were pushing yourself out of your seat and stumbling your way out of the bus. Your boots hit the asphalt as you stepped out. You stretched out a bit more as you took in the warmth of the sun on your skin for a moment. The heat seeped into your skin as you stood there before it seemed to be a bit too much and you shucked off your jacket. “Finally decided to greet the waking world with your presence?” Helena chirped with a raspy laugh.
You couldn’t help the small giggle that had left your throat as you nodded your head and wrapped your jacket over your arm as you had stalked closer to her. You came to stand at her side as you took in the fresh air of Colorado felt like it had opened your lungs up a bit and it was nice.
“Yeah, sorry. I’ve been sleeping a lot since this.” You told her as you made a motion to the arm that was bandaged up.
Helena looked over as she took a drag of her cigarette, you couldn’t help but find the smell of it intoxicating. It wasn’t like the cigarettes that your grandfather used to smoke, this had a sweet and narcotic aroma to it that you couldn’t help but make your mouth water almost. You were so distracted by the smell that you didn’t notice Helena take your arm in her hands, they were strong and sturdy still yet the skin on them had started to sag. She was covered in freckles and her hands shook slightly as she held your forearm. You didn’t even stop her when she unwrapped your arm and just watched as the bandages fell away. You didn’t freeze like you had before looking at it. You stared at it for a moment as she seemed to take it in before she turned away from it.
“It’s healed well. It’s passable as a dog attack. Here.” Helena said as she held out a cigarette for you to take from her.
“I don’t smoke.” You stated.
“Not your normal type of cigarette, honey. Just trust me on this.” She said as she motioned to it.
You took the hand rolled cigarette from Helena, your fingers gently holding it before you placed it between your lips. You watched as she pulled a lighter and lit the end of it on, you watched as the embers flickered awake. You took in a deep drag. It was a bit reminiscent of the times you had sat around with your friends from school passing a blunt around. You took a deep inhale and the sweet taste filled your mouth and lungs. You pulled the cigarette from your lips and exhaled the smoke as it bellowed from your mouth. You felt your body relax, it felt as if you had gotten a full night's rest and the ache in your body from the last change didn’t seem like it had ever been there to begin with.
“I feel better.” You told her as you took another drag of the cigarette feeling the sweet smoke fill your lungs before you relaxed.
“It’s wolfsbane. Despite what you’ve been told ‘bout stories about us. It doesn't hurt us. Some kind of pain reliever. Never got a thorough explanation on it but it’s good to think about when you are on your own.” Helena told you.
You sat there for a moment as your eyes trained on the cigarette between your lips. Wolfsbane. For some reason you felt like laughing about the circumstances, this kind of stuff should have been poisoning you but again then everything wasn’t as it seems was it. You made a small mental note of that when you got to where you were going. Grow wolfsbane, a pain reliever. Add it to the list of things that Helena had been giving you throughout the trip. She had been giving you more than Lawrence. He had definitely tried to give you what you could but he also didn’t want you around. You remembered his words when you woke up in his cabin.
‘Our kind doesn’t work well with others. We are better off as loners. Leave the pack thing to the wolves.’
You mulled over those words for a moment as you looked at Helena. She had told you there was a slight difference between you and her. She could go freely as what she was, no forced changes or uncontrollable urges at times. What she was came as natural as the wind and rain but you. You weren’t natural even by their standards, you were a slave to the silver moon. You worked on her time and learned to make your life around her different phases. But here with Helena in that moment you thought about the man who had saved you from the monster that changed you. For a moment you considered maybe he was right but the feeling in your chest told you otherwise. You were different but it didn’t mean you had to go alone in this matter either, no matter what you were going to be a pack animal, it was ingrained into your genetic code. Even with it being altered by a virus you could have never fought off but only embraced it.
“C’mon, the bus is getting ready to leave again.” Helena said as she finished up her cigarette before putting it out with her heels.
You gave a nod of your head and took another deep drag before doing the same and tailing after her. You didn’t feel like slipping on your jacket to hide what you were. The hours you had spent in the care of Helena you felt like we're finally getting your footing in things, finally understanding how you were supposed to do things maybe. You made your way back onto the bus as people slowly trickled back in and went to get settled in once again.
The trip was a long one trekking across fifteen states by bus alone. This was a first for you seeing so many places in one go. You and Helena had bonded over the close capacity and in that time you had run into others like you. The others you met were different from Helena, a family woman, these ones seemed a bit more free spirited. They carried a similar scent to Helena, something natural and light. They carried scents that felt natural to where Lawrence had something that felt almost strange and foreign the more you recalled it. These people formed a little group with you and Helena, they were headed to New York. It was something that had made you giggle a little bit. It was odd to think of your kind occupying the city but hey let them do you. It was the first taste of what it was like to have a pack, something you didn’t realize that soothed some part of your soul.
You watched as scenery had passed by your window as the trip had worn on. Your camera had finally found its way out of your bag and for the first time in a while everything felt like it had gone normal again. You had never seen so many people as you had on that Greyhound bus, how some came for a little bit and others for longer like you and Helena. They didn’t seem to mind when you took photos, capturing moments in time of travelers on their way to destinations that you didn’t know where. They were fleeting in your life but it gave you a sense of normalcy that you had once had before it all had happened.
You arrived in Portland, Maine four days after you had left Pocatello. The atmosphere here was different and so was just everything else. It was a bit of whiplash but the steady hand from Helena steadied you as you both had gotten off the bus. You waited with Helena for her husband to pick her up from the station. You felt something break just a little bit as you had walked her out to her husbands truck and helped get her baggage into the truck. It felt like you were saying goodbye to your mother, a part of you whined as you didn’t want to leave. Maybe she said that and that is why she had slipped you the house phone number and address, along with the kind words of my door is always open to you. As you had watched her leave in that truck you didn’t realize that you had started crying, using the sleeve of your jacket to wipe away salty tears before you had turned to stalk back inside.
Through blurry vision of remaining tears you had found yourself at the desk asking for a map. You had looked over the worn map, fingers drifting over the paper as you tried to figure where to go from here now. Your eyes wandered over the names of small towns until your fingers had stopped on one. You traced out the words ‘Jerusalem's Lot’ before you seemed to tap it as you seemed to decide that’s where you were going.
“Hey, can I get a ticket to here?” You asked the attendant over the desk
The middle aged woman on the other end looked from her magazine, one that you were pretty sure was some gossip type of thing. You could see the grays sprouting against her blonde locks that had recently had a perm done on it. You watched as her eyes narrowed behind cat eye glasses as she looked at where you had been pointing at the map. She looked a bit surprised as she looked at the map and then back at you.
“The bus doesn’t head out that far. You are gonna have your thumb your way there.” She told you. The way she said it was a bit odd, like she was judging you for something but you couldn’t be sure. It was probably the way you looked, you hadn’t properly slept in sometime and definitely could use a shower.
“Shit, really?” You asked back. There wasn’t much surprise that you would have to hitchhike the rest of the way.
“Yeah, small little place out that way. The bus isn’t going that far out.” She explained to you. You let out a bit of huff under your breath and nodded your head.
“I could take you halfway and then you’d have to get there the rest of the way.”
Her voice had gotten your attention when she had offered to take you at least half way. It did save you from having to climb into a car with some guy and she didn’t seem that vicious, not like you couldn’t have handled your own with her either.
“Hmm, yeah that would work. Thank you.” You said as you tapped the desk and nodded your head. You folded back up the map and placed it down. You heard her say something in acknowledgement before you had headed to go sit down for a bit before you would be heading out with her.
The lady had kept her promise and had gotten you half way out there before you had gotten out at a gas station. You had waited around for sometime at the place trying to pick up a ride as you milled about at the station. You finally picked up a ride with elderly couple in the back of their pickup as well. Your bag sat between your legs as you leaned back against the bed of the truck. Your hair whipped up in the air as the truck roared down the highway, the smell of summer racing by that made your shoulders drop a bit. The old couple had let you out on the road just outside of Jerusalem’s Lot. You had hopped out and hauled your bag over your shoulder as you started on your way into town.
You could help the small amused laugh as you had past the Welcome to Jerusalem’s Lot sign. The dark wood was slightly faded out in some places to the point the sign more read Salem’s Lot before seemed a bit better condition than one side. It almost felt fitting for you, what would be a town of Salem without something strange going on. It got a rise out of you as you carried on, occasionally snapping pictures as you headed your way in. Not a car had passed by you as you had gotten into town, boots getting off of decaying asphalt to sidewalk as you prowled into town.
As you made your way in, you noted the way people had gone about their days. Some had glanced over at you and you could see the skepticism in their eyes. It was a small town and strangers coming in by foot wasn’t exactly normal. You brushed it off as you walked through the town. You passed a place called Dell’s tucking it away to come by when you had gotten settled into things and took in more as you passed through. You took in the hardwood store, a vacant building that was up for sale and just more things that had come to be known for a small town as well. Nothing seemed out of place and you weren’t sure what else to expect. This was a place placed out of time, people who had probably lived here for generations and never once left the Lot.
You kept on your way until your boots stopped in front of a place. You tilted your head to the side slightly as you read it. ‘Crockett’s Southern Maine Insurance and Realty’. That was definitely a good start. You shifted your bag over your shoulder a bit before you head inside. You pulled the door open and a little bell chimed that made your ears hurt as you slowly let your bag drop to the ground as you hesitantly headed inside. You got the smell of a fake flowery smell that made your nose cringe a bit and followed it a bit deeper into the building before you caught the culprit.
There sat a girl at the receptionist’s desk with a dirty blonde bob. She looked around your age and seemed a bit bored as she was engrossed in a book. You waited there for a moment before she rattled off what sounded like a bored yet overly practiced greeting for her job.
“Welcome to Crockett’s Southern Maine Insurance and Realty.” She said flatly as she flipped the page of her book.
“That sounds a bit forced.” You laughed softly as you looked around for a moment before you looked at her.
Her eyes were gray, one that you didn’t see often with people but they reminded you of the moon. The little streaks of dark colors in them are just like craters in the moon. You shook your head a moment and a small flush to your face as you realized that you had been staring a bit longer then you probably should have but she didn’t seem to notice, still reading that book of hers.
“You could say that. Hey you ain't from around here are you?” She said, the second part coming a bit more lively as she looked up and saw you.
“No, I’m not. Looking to move in.” You told her with a click of your tongue as you stood in the door frame.
“Move in?” She asked with a slightly raised eyebrow as she set her book down and rested her arms on the desk.
“Why is that surprising?” You retorted back to her with an easy smile. The way her eyes shifted down to those sharp canines of yours that glinted a bit before she looked away.
“I don’t know, aint people our age kind of looking to get out of these places?” She pointed it out to you. She definitely had a point about that, people like you and her were more often trying to get out of places like this than moving into them.
“I guess? I like the small town things, uh,” You stuttered out as you tried to figure out the best way to phrase it. Your small pause must have been taken by her as you were trying to get your name which she gave to you.
“Susan. Susan Norton, you can call me Susie.” She said she held out her hand to you.
Your eyes fell to her hand before you reached out to take her hand into yours. Yours was a bit rough then hers and nails a bit longer and definitely not coated in polish like hers. Yours spoke of a wildness that was not always associated with domesticity that seemed to come off of Susan in that moment. Your grip was strong as you shook her hand before you pulled it away as you heard the sound of a chair movie and the sound of dress shoes hitting the carpet. You shifted your weight to the man who was coming out of the office across the way from Susan’s desk.
It was a balding man with salt and gray peppered hair. He wore a dull colored suit, equally dull colored slacks, shirt and then bit too bright of a green tie. His eyes were dark and face wrinkled from the years of aging. There was the faint smell of what you knew as cheap cologne and cheap cigarettes that clung to the man. He gave off this air of what you could only describe as a rat and you weren’t sure as to why but you had to guess ever salesman just had that energy of a leech.
“Susie, I don’t pay you to ya- Oh hello there! I’m Lawrence Crockett and you are?” His voice made you want to recoil, it was baritone but it also felt so tacky. You weren't too pleased the way he had addressed Susan but the way he covered himself as he had addressed you.
“A client I would hope. Looking for a place to stay maybe on the south side of town?” You told him as you folded your arms and looked at the man.
The squirrelly character of a man seemed to share a look with Susan as they both looked at you for a moment. Your eyes met theirs and you could see that they were a bit surprised by the suggestion. There wasn’t a whole lot on that side of town but the woods and the low income side of the town.
“I like my quietness.” You told them firmly as you looked at both of them. You didn’t really care for the look, you wanted to be near the woods and if it came with an unsavory part of town or what they thought of it then so be it. You knew damn well looks were more than what they were.
“Uh, we come on in. Let me take a look at what I got available.” Lawrence cleared his throat and ushered you into his office.
You shared a look with Susan that was something like best of luck with the endeavor. It made you smile a little bit as you went into the small office. You took a seat in the cheap chair across from his desk that creaked under your weight. You watched the realtor shift around his space with eyes that seemed to probably make him a little bit more uneasy then he already was with you. Some people seemed to have that sense with you, something Helena had explained to you as a gift. They had a way of seeing over on the other side. Some had it a bit more clearer than others while some could just place it as there was something off or wrong about you. You had come to notice that was the case with some people. They would just be skittish around you, like some deep part in their head knew you weren’t entirely human anymore.
“Let me see, let me see.” He muttered to himself as he had sat down in his chair and was going over his desk to find the listings for the south side of town. You watched as he had shuffled around through files and you noticed one for a brief moment of an old Victorian house. You tilted your head to the side and read the words. ‘The Marsten House’. It mildly peaked your curiosity for the moment before your heard movement behind you. You watched as Susan had come into the room with the said listings that Mr. Crockett had been looking for it. She gave you a small smile as she set the files down on the desk in front of him and you watched as the man stopped his fruitless search when they had been placed.
“Here Mr. Crockett.” She said to him with a bit of a condescending chirp to her voice that had you stifling a laugh behind a bit of cough that she seemed to catch onto. You watched as Susan left the room before her boss even bothered to thank her for them.
“I’ve got three places out that way. They are all gonna need a little TLC but you seem like the capable type.” Mr. Crockett explained to you as he laid out the files of the house that were up for rent.
You shifted your chair forward closer to the desk so you could get a better look at your possible options that were being presented for you. The houses were all a bit different from each other and out of the three there were two that seemed in less move in condition then one. The one that seemed to be alright. It was in a second empire type structure with a black roof, white paneling and red brick foundation. It was surrounded by the woods and a small road led out to the main one from the brief pictures that were supplied. It was perfect for you, it would work good for what you needed and offered privacy that you wanted.
“I’ll take this one.” You said as you took the file out and placed it on the top of the others. Mr. Crockett looked at you with a look that held skepticism that you probably weren’t capable of handling a place like this yourself.
“Are you sure?” He asked like he was trying to give you a sense of doubt.
“Yup, how much is the down payment?” You told him back firmly. This was going to be the one and you weren’t going to let some realtor change your mind on things.
“Well about $108 on a monthly payment but I also need a security deposit which would be about double that. Should be $322 for the first payment.” He said as he cleared his throat and began to take out the necessary paperwork for you to fill. You had pushed out from your chair for a moment, the sudden action made the man jump a little bit as you had moved out of the room. You could feel Susan’s eye on you as you made your way to your bag and crouched down next to it. You pulled the zipper back and rustled through your clothes before you had pulled out a yellow envelope. You pulled out the stash of cash you had on you and counted out what you needed and what you were going to have left. You made a mental note of needing to get some form of job before your funds ran dry. You had stood back up and made your way back into the office.
“Here. I’ll take the key.” You said as you handed over the money in cash onto the man’s desk. He watched you for a moment as he took in how much you had just put down and that you were asking for the key. He cleared his throat before he motioned to the papers that needed your attention.
“I need you to sign a couple things and I’ll get Suze to take you over there.” He said as you grabbed a pen and went over the papers that he had put out. Some of it had gone over what you needed to do to get the electricity and heating up and going when you got over. You signed your name neatly on the little lines that had been asked of you. Once you were done you were handed two keys on a key ring. You felt the brass against your palm before you looked at the man.
“Isn’t that a bit of inconvenience to her?” You asked him as he rounded his desk and got to walking you out of his office.
“Nah she would be more than happy too. Won’t you Suze?” Mr. Crockett had said, snapping Susan out of her reading again.
“Happy to do what?” She had asked him with a bit of a confused look. You gave her a bit of an apologetic look and shifted uncomfortably for having someone pretty much give you a ride that one party didn’t even really seem to want to do.
“Take our new client to her new home?” Mr. Crockett said as he clapped you on the shoulders. You had to resist the urge to bristle or swivel to shove him off. Sometimes those little territorial traits could be the hardest to control. You took a steady breath as you heard Susan let out some annoyed noise and stood up from her chair, grabbing her purse and keys.
“Yeah, sure.” She said as she rounded her desk and headed for the door.
You shouldered your way out of Mr. Crockett’s grasp and after Susan. You had briefly glanced back at the man but said nothing as you had picked up your bag by the door and stepped outside after Susan. You followed her out to her car, a Chevrolet Vega, that seemed to be in pretty decent condition. You couldn’t help but marvel at it for a moment as you kicked yourself in gear as you quickly made your way across the street. You watched as the dirty blonde got into the driver’s seat and waited for you to climb on in. You didn’t hesitate to climb on to the passenger side and drop your bag on the floor.
The car roared to life as Susan started the engine up of the Vega. You could feel the rumble through your body as the car kicked into gear as Susan got you two on your way to your new home. You rubbed your fingers over the keys that you had been given by the realtor. You watched as the sleepy town rolled on by as Susan drove you through the Lot. You craned your neck as you watched the town dump roll by and the desolate graveyard up the hill just a reach off from the Martsen house that stood like a decrepit scarecrow that overlooked crops. Soon the brief image of the house was cut off as the woods crept their way into few as they had taken a turn towards the south side of town.
The town looked so peaceful in the summer, the hot breeze from outside filtered in through the cracked windows as you two rolled on by. You felt your eyes close for a moment for a moment as you took in a breath and let your head rest against the window. You could feel Susan’s gray eyes on you as she seemed to take you in. You didn’t seem to mind all that much as you felt things start to settle after months of the unknown yet there was this strange little pity that stayed there. A clawing and biting urge of that things weren’t going to stay this way for long but you pushed that off as you felt your eyes slowly close for a moment.
You were jolted awake as you felt Susan’s gentle hand met your shoulder. You startled her making her jump as well as you both nervously laughed off the small interaction as you both shifted in seats. You didn’t met Susan’s eyes for that moment as you tried to figure out the words to say to her as you sat there in her passenger seat. You grabbed a hold of the straps of your duffel bag for a moment.
“You didn’t have to take me. I could have walked it.” You shyly said to her as you brushed some of your hair out of your face as you stretched out from the small brief nap that you had fallen into in her car. You looked over at Susan who had looked over at you before she shifted her gaze away for a moment.
“It’s fine, I need the fresh air. Can’t believe that you picked that one?” Susan had said for a moment before she had looked back up at you. Your eyes met for a moment as you tried to process what she was asking her. She was wondering why you had picked this one and you didn’t want to give her the real reason as to why.
“Why?” You asked back. You watched as Susan seemed to fumble with some explanation to give you onto why she was asking her question. She seemed to realize that you weren’t from here and you weren’t aware of the town’s history.
“It’s got a direct view of the Martsen House. The people who had owned it prior said they could see stuff up there. The lady swore she saw someone staring at her from the window up there.” Susan explained to you as she watched your head work overtime to take in what she was telling you. You knew that small town’s had their stories, the legends that were carried on and passed out to children. Places that people whispered in hushed tones that had teenagers sneaking up to get a feel for the real thing.
“No way.” You muttered out as you met to pop open the car door of the Vega and stepped out. Susan seemed to watch you with a gaze that made you not uncomfortable in your skin but appreciated and made your face heat up.
“Yeah, I guess you got to learn about the Lot.” Susan joked as she watched you grab your bag from the floor of the Vega and hold it for a moment as you held the door ajar for a moment as you carried on the conversation.
“I do.” You told her as you shifted your weight for a moment.
“Here we are through. The Martsen House’s shadow.” Susan joked as she motioned to the house that was now going to be yours to look after. It looked like a shell of something that had lacked some life for awhile. You could make out plastic covering on some of the furniture that sat inside of the house. You couldn’t remember seeing anything about it being furnished but you weren’t going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
“That’s ominous.” You laughed softly at Susan’s joke about the house that you are about to go into.
“Yeah but hey you don’t feel phased by ominous things.” Susan pointed out that you had nodded your head in agreement.
“Eh, it depends. Again thanks for bringing me here.” You told her for a moment as you brushed it off. You gaze turned back to the house and then to the clearing through the trees. She wasn’t really kidding when she had called it the Martsen House’s shadow. Through that clearing the old house stood on the hill, in direct line of the living room windows. You watched for a moment as you just stared at it and thought about what Susan had told you. You knew well enough now that the supernatural was not simply just stories that were to give someone a good scare or air caution, they always held some truth to them. You couldn’t totally discount that maybe the prior owners of your new home had seen something.
“Anytime. I hope that it suits you well.” Susan said as she broke you out of your thoughts and turned the car back on. You could feel the vibrations of the car through the frame and closed the door with a small thud. You were about to head in when Susan’s voice had stopped you in your tracks.
“Hey, uh, maybe you would like to hang out this Friday. You are new and all, maybe you could use a friend.” Susan asked as she leaned a bit more to the passenger side of the car. You thought about her offer for a moment before you smiled softly at her.
“Need a new face to talk to that doesn’t do town gossip?” You joked.
“God yes please.” Susan laughed back as she nodded her head. You watched as her eyes had crinkled just a bit as she seemed to genuinely laugh but also genuinely happy to have the company of someone new. You couldn’t fault her for that, you felt it too.
“Okay, I’ll see you Friday, Susie.” You told her as you wrapped your knuckle against the frame of the door and backed off so she would have room to get out of the old driveway.
“See you then.” Susan said as she waved you goodbye.
You watched as Susan Norton pulled out of the driveway and down the way back to the main road. You waited until you heard the engine fade out and the sounds of the forest came to life. Something in you stirred, you felt a sudden jolt of energy go through your system as your legs carried you forward. Your boots crunched against dead leaves that had fallen from their place on the looming trees that surrounded the clearing of your new home. The old porch creaked under your weight as you went up it and juggled for the keys in your hand. You slid them into the rusty lock, it took a moment for the lock to shift before it finally gave way. The front door opened with a creak that had you closing your eyes.
“Oil for hinges at the top of the list.” You muttered out as you stepped into the house.
You looked around as you dropped your bag next to you as you kicked the door close with your foot. You looked around at the inside of the house, you could see the dust dance around in the light that shined through the windows. Mr. Crockett was not kidding when he said that it would need some TLC gifted to it. The house hadn’t seen a living person in almost over a year and it showed from all the dust and plastic covered furniture. You let out a sigh as you rested your hands on your hips for a moment as you took it all in before you let out a huff and shucked off your jacket to get started.
You had spent your afternoon getting the house in somewhat of a livable space. It had taken a couple of hours to understand how to get power to the house and accidentally shock yourself once. You had declared the basement the most horror movie thing you had seen and that with it having cellar doors it was probably a good place to make your spot for when the full moon came calling for you. The water heater was a completely different beast itself and you’d have to get someone out there to take care of it, suffering with cold showers was going to have to be managed until you could. Not that you could complain, the upper floor of the house was hotter than hell and that made the main floor and basement the only comfortable spots in the old house for you to be around. You had dragged one of the old mattresses from upstairs down into the living room and pulled the curtains a bit as you had set up.
By the time you had gotten the place into a somewhat livable space you sat out on the porch shirtless in a bra and your jeans. You had since ditched your boots to walk around barefoot for the moment. You sat on the porch steps as you took a drag of some of the wolfsbane cigarettes that Helena had given you and stared up at the sky. The pastel hues of the sky as the sun began to set painted the sky as your eye strained to see the one thing in the sky. There the moon hung, almost spilling over with silver as she stared back down at you, her moon lorne child. You let out a sigh and stretched out a bit before getting up and heading back inside as you could feel the familiar aches bloom in your body.

Hi! I was trying to figure out the least awkward way to talk about Silver gender stuff and settled on this but please don't feel like you have to answer publicly if you don't want. So it's in this series, which basically takes off from the idea of Flint teaching Silver to cook after the pig roasting scene - Silver goes to him and says if you want me to keep up this illusion you have to keep teaching me. There are definitely hints in the second installment, but it's the last chapter of the third one where it really goes all out; Silver ends up dressed in silk and jewels from a prize, and gets treated like the pretty princess he deserves to be 🥰 I'm really interested in Silver's relationship with gender because of how he plays with identity in different ways, and how he sort of refuses to engage in some of the classic hypermasculine pirate stuff, he doesn't claim to be brave and tough and able to fight, that's not where his power comes from, in fact he actively undermines that image with the addresses and such, he gets by being charming and nonthreatening which can be perceived as a more feminine way of moving through the world. And I'm interested in how that interacts with some of the softness we see from Flint in private, even though he IS projecting that hypermasculine image as captain to some extent.
Anyway sorry for rambling, I'm obsessed with that art and I'm convinced it would taste of the same lovely lavender as the shade of the dress <3 Thank you so much for sharing, and I can't wait to see a version with the fancy prosthetic if you end up doing one.
Oh PS that fic also references Flint doing some gender play stuff in London with the Hamiltons... a favorite headcanon, he would love to be able to take a break from the roles he assumes... there is so much potential for both of them.
YAYYAY SILVER GENDER TIME
ive actually read that series!! and i love it, its so good! it definitely made me want to draw silver in a dress even more. (tho i'd already designed the dress before reading it)
i love the observation that he doesnt engage in the typical pirate masculinity, or place his worth in his physical strength or battle prowess. some characters in other shows would be highly demeaned for moving through the world this way (cough cough starscream transformers) but silver isnt--he's shown as a formidable enemy, both to flint at the start of the show and to anyone who would oppose him at the end... including, again, flint. who is, like you said, projecting a hypermasculine image as captain. even if that isnt exactly who he is inside, he places his outward worth as captain on his ability to intimidate, his ability in a fight, his success by typical pirate standards. so the fact that silver, who makes his success in a more stereotypically feminine way, triumphs over him is interesting to me. normally feminine men, men who move through the world the way silver does, would be demeaned by the characters and the plot, shown to be incompetent or lesser. but not in black sails <3
and im so glad you like my painting, i loved making it but was a little worried that nobody would like it or see value in it due to the ahistorical nature and, of course, the fact that i drew a pirate in a dress--WITH leg hair which. people seem to think if you wear a dress you cant have leg hair. which is weird lol. i didnt want to play into that. i think hairy men can also be femme and wear dresses and they look good doing it <3

Grades and results|| pt.2
Warnings-death of a loved one, depression, crying, mentions of neglecting father, Elvis being a dick (he gets better later)
A/n: this is a shorter chapter just to get us started in the angst but i hope you like it
You never would have figured the day of your first f would lead to so much more. So much..chaos.
Your meeting with mr.Presley did not go smoothly he yelled at you multiple times as you begged for a redo. Telling you 'no ya learn from your damn mistakes: You ended up leaving the room tears flowing down your face.
Once you got home everything..everything. Fell apart. You're mother was on the living room floor. So pale and lonely... "mama?..mama!" You rush to her side and try to pull her to your arms her weight too heavy for you. Getting up and going to the phone calling 911 spitting out your address and your emergency. In no time they were there so were the police seeing as most of the police officers knew you and your mother. Tears streamed down your sweet face police comforting you as your mother is sent away in a ambulance that they didn't allow you in.
You still had school tomorrow..how were you going to live..how were you supposed to do anything.your mama was your best friend. Stripped straight from you. The police soon had to leave. Leaving you alone with a empty memory haunted house. You couldn't even cry anymore the pain was just..so much. Getting off your porch step you go back inside and look down to where your mama laid. Stepping past it you sit back on the couch and look at the wall.
Sleep didn't come to you that night. All you did was look at everything till you had to leave for school. Not even remembering to grab your bag, not paying attention to where you were even going. It was like you were a robot, a robot with eye bags red eyes a red nose and pouty lips.
Ignoring all hi's in the halls on your way to mr. Presleys class. You were late. Opening the door you see everyone in there, the bell just then ringing. Everyone looks to you and frown's watching as you go to your seat. Youre late" mr. Presley says. "Sorry" you mumble looking down at your desk.
Davis scoots his desk closer to you and give mr.presley a look making him stop what he was doing and cross his arms. "I heard..my dad..he..he said you..im sorry y/n.» he says trying to find a way to word it. You look over and look him in the eye. Oh that look. That look was pure hurt and mourning. "Mr.Cross." Mr.Presley bellows. "will you wait a fucking minute!?" He shouts. "Office. Now. Get your ass there. Ms.l/n. care to explain why ya were distracted the class" he grumbles.
"No" you short earning a huff. "Yall go out to the commons let me have a word with ms.l/n here." Everyone shuffles out at his word you just keep your head down. "Now why the hell did ya interrupt my class so damn much? Is it the f? I told ya god dammit ya learn from your god damn mistakes i ought to call your mama and tell 'er" that broke you tears streaming down your face immediately so much worse then him yelling at you yesterday.
"God damn its just a bad grade.” He huffs. "My-my mama..s-she…she..died…she died last night..i-uh. found her..when I got home.. from school..i-im sorry for i-interrupting but i-..l can't..i cant be-be normal for everyone. not for- for a while." you say through struggling breaths. *Y/n. oh lord..i must seem like the world's biggest ass." he leans down by your side and shows you for the first time His soft side. *M sorry darlin' I know how it feels to lose your mama.i lost mine when i was in the army.i can't imagine how ya must feel havin' to find her. he says with such a soft tone you could melt. "You did? Im sorry." he chuckles and reaches back to his desk grabbing a tissue bringing it up to your cheek and wiping the tears.
"Why are ya here doll..ya should be home with your daddy." he grabs your hand and gives you a soft smile. “My daddy left when i was 10..i don't have a relationship with him." Elvis' lips part realizing that meant you was all alone. You look too innocent to be touched by this world now your stripped straight from the innocence of it all. Elvis just wanted to hold you and protect you. knowing the pain of losing a mother he knows his earlier actions didn't help. “Plus..i gotta keep perfect attendance.get that award at the end of the year..that my mama always hung on the fridge" you chuckle a bit and sniffle. “‘M so sorry for how I treated ya yesterday an' today..I know it probably aint helpin' ya...” his words were sincere but you didn't care you just needed someone close.
You looked at him and fell to him hugging him. He stays still for a moment before wrapping his arm around your waist and laying his hand on your head. “Ya need to go home..take some time to yourself honey." he speaks softly in your ear. "My home is in a morgue." You bluntly tell him. He understands. He really does. "I cant go back to that house. you add nothing would hurt worse then going to your house.
"Doll..ya can't..ya gotta stay somewhere" he pulls back and pushes some hair behind your ear. "Im 18 mr. Presley. it's difficult to stay with friends or go anywhere i cant work because of school..im stuck" he sighs and shakes his head. "No.i got a ranch.ya can stay there i don' stay there i stay at my other house. ill..ill come by and get ya for school every day and make sure ya got what ya need okay?" Damn this man had two houses? You think for a second and frown. "I-..I don't want to intrude..or be a issue..im okay i can figure it out mr. Presley" he shakes his head and gives you a smile.
"I insist. ‘Ieast stay till ya figure somethin' else out" he says, you sigh..you really didn't have much choice. "Okay." you mumble. "Ill take ya there after school okay?" You nod and let go of him. "Thank you. you say sadness coating your tone. He hums and gets up. ‘m goin' to get them wolly boogers ill be right back"
The rest of the day elvis cut you slack so did the other teachers the news spreading so fast around the school it was like wildfire.
Once school was over you headed to mr.Presleys room seeing him with his sunglasses again as he signed papers. His attention goes up to you giving you a warm smile that made butterflies in your stomach. "Ready honey?" He asks, you nod and go to his desk. "need any help?" your voice is quiet and hash from all the crying. "nah honey thank ya. tell me where your house is so i can go in and get ya some clothes" he wasnt even going to make you go into that horrifying house? "uh.its the first house on bearver avanue" you answer starting to walk with him towards most definitely his car.
He goes onto pass a black stutz but grabs the handle of the passanger seat nodding for you to get in. He owns a stutz too? God his pockets must be loaded. You genuinely chuckle a bit at the thought as he rounded the car. You look over to him as he gets in. *thank you again mr.presley" you say with a soft sad smile. "no problem honey..an' please we're outta school its elvis. he starts the car and heads to your house. Its quite quiet on the way there just each others breathing.
"what do ya need?” he asks opening his door. "uh. you really do-“ “what do ya need?” he cuts you off. "uh. just anything is good. m-my room is the last past the kitchen. Thank you.” you bite down on your lip trying not to cry again. He nods and goes into your house, he opened your closet to see all the cute doll outfits you had.. God those would look so good on you. His thoughts ran wild before he shook his head and grabbed underwear and bras for you holding all the stuff in his arms as he headed back outside.
He opened the truck and laid everything back there, getting back in and smiling at you. "Ill give ya a tour when we get to the ranch.” He says, you nod softly and look to the road as he starts to drive again. There was a moment in the drive you ended up falling asleep and once at the ranch elvis didn't know what to do. So much for the tour but You probably needed it. He knows he didn't sleep when he lost his mother you probably didn't either so he just got you out of the car and took you inside to the main bed, covering you up and getting your clothes out of the car and put up.
He decided to stay for a second to make sure you didn't wake up and need anything but he ended up sleeping as he watched the tv.
It was around three in the morning when you woke up frowning at the unknown room slowly stepping your feet down and searching the hall the kitchen then the living room frowning as you see Elvis. "Uh…mr.presley?" you hum in your sweet voice. Rounding the couch and seeing he was asleep. That position he was in was probably uncomfortable. "Elvis..” you say softly ,shaking him. He hums and blinks his eyes open. "oh..hey kid.” he grumbles in a tired voice. "go lay down In a bed.” you say, elvis shakes his head and sits up.
"no...no i gotta get home..damn its 3?” he checks his watch and stands. "ill see ya in the mornin" you did not want to be alone but you knew he probably didn't want to be here right now.
"Bye elvis." you say bringing your legs up on the couch and hugging them to you watching the tv station that was on of course it was past midnight so it was just replaying the news. With a sigh you lean over and turn the tv off with the remote.

Tbh i understand pete, the beginning of their relationship wasn't normal or easy at all so him struggling to bottom made sense to me but as you said that he thinks Vegas will get bored eventually if pete will stop challenging him, i think i get where he's coming from , i mean we do know that Vegas loved to see pete resist and fight himself and that's what pete thinks too, that this push and pull game will keep Vegas hooked somehow, but I can't wait for him to let his guards down completely because boy you dont know how Vegas loves to see you taking initiatives and letting loose and enjoying yourself ngl Vegas loves everything pete does that man is down bad I love him so yeah I cannnottt wait for both of you to go all out and fuck
Also by any luck are we getting a chapter update tomorrow? No pressure I am just curious jfhsjdj you won't believe I actually do arrange my schedule acc to the chapter on update days lmaooooo
yeah exactly!!!! like these are the walls he first put up to protect himself and it would be such a huge undertaking for him to take them down now around vegas (esp because it twinges against petes very real hang ups about letting vegas win/ getting what he wants)
yes i think its been left so long now that pete is building it up/ combining a lot of his fears into the act of bottoming in his head- like if he says yes what if vegas repeats more of the horrible things he first said to pete about him obviously wanting it when he was a prisoner, finally confirming it as true? and if vegas wants it so bad is it still that aggravating win for him if he gets it? even if pete might want to try and reexperience it in a new way too? and what if things do change and he loses his power over vegas by giving up that last thing to him? what if vegas grows bored of the pete thats fully accepting of his wants and needs? what if its not a challenge anymore once hes decided hes won? and what if more of vegas dominating side comes out again when hes topping pete? what if he takes complete control again?
like obvs these are really valid fears but a lot of its now is sort of revolving around the fact that if pete lets this get any deeper hes giving vegas the power to hurt him (not physically of course but like emotionally- which he figured out can go badly when vegas nearly died in front of him and the idea of losing him got pete in a total panic) and thats a really big deal for pete. and which hes still trying to decide is actually worth it to open himself up to- the idea of love and loss. so its really so much beyond completely relaxing his guard for vegas. its conceding to the idea of needing him. of wanting him. of being afraid of losing him too.
but yeah honestly pete has a lot of things holding him back from going further atm- no matter how many ways hes sort of passively going along with and both outright asserting himself as part of a romantic relationship with vegas. its still all so messy in his head no matter what his feelings and attraction are. so pete is afraid of being vulnerable like that again but especially about not being in control of his own body/ vegas being in control of his body and these are all things he has to work through. but yeah youre absolutely right he doesnt realise that his fears are totally unfounded and vegas is down bad for him (and is going to absolutely lose his mind when pete starts taking initiative and being even more open about his needs) and they are absolutely going to go nuts on the sex front once they finally reach that much needed equilibrium haha.
it's actually looking less likely that i'm going to post tonight unfortunately!!! the chap editing is taking a hell of a lot longer than i expected and im honestly going to just run out of time before bed (and a girly has gotta sleep) so im guessing it'll be either tomorrow or day after- depending how the editing wraps up. (also lol @ me saying i dont post on weekdays and then immediately proving myself wrong im a clown :) )

ALSO. HIIII good evening <3 holding microphone up to u. i would love ur scion thoughts post-interlude!! if u have any!! i know u have Opinions on him i wanna know how the redstringing's going!!!!
OH DUDE I HAVE SOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY FUCKING OPINIONS. GOD. WHAT THE FUCK . WAS NOT EXPECTING 2 LEARN THIS INFORMATION WHEN I WAS TIPSY ON CLOWN WINE AT MIDNIGHT BUT ALAS HERE WE FUCKING ARE I GUESS. CASUAL WORM READING EXPERIENCE. FUCK
okay okay okay oka. that interlude was so fucking good it both answered some of my questions and also gave me SO MANY MORE QUESTIONS. as soon as kevin started talking about being the most powerful man in the world i KNEW. i KNEW it was gonna be some scion bullshit. at first i thought it was gonna be like some... witch from beauty and the beast bullshit where he Was Actually scion just. posing as an eccentric homeless guy out of costume. which would have disappointed me i think because i am so dead set on scion Not Being Human.
WHICH. I FEEL SO STRONGLY IN MY HEART THIS CHAPTER SUPPORTED SO WELL. when they described how Simurgh first appeared floating motionless over a city. dude. dude. my first fucking thought with that was "hey that sounds like what people say about scion." he doesnt speak. his face never moves. hes extremely powerful, so far the only person powerful to drive away the endbringers. he's GOTTA be the same type of thing they are. not human, never was human, but for some reason he Looks Human. like... simurgh does too, but shes still huge and has weird proportions and the wings. scion as far as i know is normal sized and looks mostly human besides being gold. i havent figured that out yet
having a LOT OF FEELINGS about . the whole reason scion does what he does is because some miserable man with a heart of gold told him to. side note i reallyyyy really got attached to kevin i liked him a lot :( that brings into question SO MANY fucking things about the endbringers. this is full on mac ghostiezone game theory moment at this point but. i dont know where they came from, but it seems like at their first appearance they were... susceptible to orders? and this just happened to be an extremely lucky right place at the right time moment. I cant even imagine a world where scion wasnt a "hero" and was instead a force of destruction like the endbringers. which brings up the question... did anyone else try to talk to the endbringers at their first appearances? i cant IMAGINE anyone would willingly go near leviathan or behemoth considering their more monstrous dangerous appearance . but what about simurgh? im acting on the assumption that the endbringers are some sort of Creation and i dont know what their purpose is but either option 1: someone DID talk to the other 3 and it was someone with extremely bad intentions and gave them the orders to become what they are now or option 2: nobody said shit to them and theyre acting on base instinct????? idk. im viewing the endbringers more like. animals or natual disasters than anything and i dont know if thats exactly correct to do but its how my brain works. so.
the big difference between them is that... scion acts with a Goal, where the endbringers seem more like forces of nature that dont really act with any sort of. purpose. simurgh is the exception to this though since she went out of her way to obscure the information about power origins from reaching dragon and also the way she acts makes it seem like... she Knows something. i dont know i still have sooo many questions.
im REALLY worried about whats gonna happen now that kevin gave him the new order to kill. im really worried its gonna be like a monkeys paw situation where... maybe one or all of the endbringers will die, but then what the fuck does he do after that. come back to whats her name (is it lisette?) for more orders? theres no guarantee lisette will be anywhere near as. idk. selfless? as kevin? that feels wrong. idk. she seemed scared of that situation and didnt want the responsibility placed on her so what if she avoids it and never gives scion any other orders???? will he just fall back on old programming and start killing other "bad" things???? is THIS how the fucking apocalypse starts. this has gotta be connected to the apocalypse in some way i can feel it in my bones. scion with kill orders makes me feel crazy.
#uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i think i have more thoughts than this but theyre mostly little specific things .#like how he looked like... a lost puppy or something.#scion scares me so bad and yet. he is so FUCKING compelling#well. scare isnt the right word. hes just unsettling. i KNOW soemthing is weird about him but i dont know What#UNCANNY VALLEY. THATS THE BITCH#HE ACTIVATS UNCANNY VALLEY WITHIN ME#UGHHHHGHGHGHG. UHG!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD FUCKING INTERLUDE#wormposting#reaction time#asks#friends!!#intertexts

bite the hand (chapter 8)
PREVIOUS CHAPTER
pairing: spider-woman!oc x miguel o’hara
summary: lorena's whole world was taken away from her in the blink of an eye, after she accidentally broke a canon event. lucky for her though, she was able to find a portal watch in her dimension and used it to get out before she glitched out of existence. unfortunately though, running from dimension to dimension, she's been named as an anomaly by the spider society. now, she's constantly on the run from them, their leader in particular. when she eventually gets caught though, she's recruited onto a mission to catch another anomaly who might be from her past. to her dismay though, her partner on this mission is her very captor. will she be able to stop arguing with him for long enough to get the job done?
info: enemies to lovers, maybe a slow burn depending on chapter count, oc is 24 and miguel is 27, both oc and miguel are super sad lmao, they're also both super violent so, they also hate each other what a slay, in regards to my oc you can read her character sheet right here
warnings: there might be spoilers for atsv in this so watch the movie before reading this, i made up some weird rules for miguel's suit and idk if theyre entirely accurate to canon so just go with it, tension lol, cursing, drinking
word count: 3.4k
notes: i gotta start repeating the banners at the top cause i ran out LMAO. also, expect less frequent uploads cause 1) i kinda have low motivation rn and 2) im pretty busy rn (going out, vacations, and doing job applications). writing also gets a little draining for me after a while and i gotta put me first😔✊ ill keep uploading though dw i just gotta do it at my own speed to make sure i dont drop the series cause if i try to push stuff out too fast, im gonna end up dropping it so just bear with me lol. also i didn't proofread this before posting cause its 3:30 when im dropping this, and im so tired lmao
-----------------
It was the sun that slithered into the room through the cracks in the blinds that woke her up. Lorena preferred that to the normal wakeup call from a nightmare, or the sounds of honking cars next to her on the street. The way the bed had molded itself to her shape made it impossible for her to move. Almost like it was trapping her in its comfort. Even if the mattress was old, the fact that this had been her first time sleeping in an actual bed, and not a bench, sidewalk, or cot, in months was enough to provide her ease.
She turned to face the other side of the bed, surprised when no one was in sight. Miguel was probably in the bathroom or something. She was more focused on a different fact: this had been the first sleep in weeks without a nightmare.
Huh. Weird.
She sat up in bed, noticing she was still in her robe from the bathroom. She rubbed the drowsiness off her face as the click of the door lock called her attention. Letting in a stream of early sunlight with him, Miguel walked through the door, pitch black sunglasses covering his eyes, a box in one hand, and a cup tray in the other. “Figured you’d be hungry when you woke up,” he said once he noticed she was awake. He softly kicked the door closed behind him, setting the tray on the desk near the door and the box on the bed.
Pulled by curiosity, she moved her hands towards the box and opened it to see what was inside. Her mouth immediately started watering when she opened it to see assorted treats such as conchas, bigotes, and mantecadas. “I was in the mood,” Miguel said, pulling the drinks out of the tray. “I didn’t know how much cream or sugar you liked so I just got you black cause that's what I get,” he said, handing the hot cup of coffee to her.
The smell of the pastries mixed with the coffee was enough to make her want to cry. It reminded of the smells of her aunt’s kitchen in the morning. The bitterness of the coffee stung at her throat, but it was overshadowed by the comfort it brought her. She picked up one of the bigotes, and had to hold back her tears of joy when she took a bite. “Gracias por todo,” she said, mouth full of food and covered in sugar. Miguel smiled at the sight of her. “De nada, cariño,” he said sweetly, taking one of the conchas for himself.
As he walked away with his food, towards the bathroom, Lorena noticed something about him. “Where’d you get the clothes?” she asked, mouth still filled with food. He was now wearing a pair of gray sweatpants and a plain white t-shirt. “It’s part of my suit,” he responded, fixing his hair in the bathroom mirror. “¿Cómo?” He sighed. “Remember what I said about the whole nanotech thing last night?” “Yeah, what about it?” Suddenly, the shirt and sweatpants shifted into his blue and red suit just before her eyes. “Woah…” she exclaimed in awe. “I can change its appearance as long as the outfit is downloaded to my suit’s database.” “Oh,” Lorena expressed, even if she still didn’t fully understand what he was talking about.
“Why’d you get to be born in the crazy, futuristic dimension with all the fancy tech,” she complained to herself, just loud enough for Miguel to hear. “Why, do you want one?” he asked, in between a small chuckle. “I mean it would be nice to wear something other than a tight spandex suit for once,” Lorena joked, getting an actual laugh out of Miguel for once. Lorena blushed and smiled at his reaction. “Well lucky for you, you’re gonna need one for tonight,” he responded. “What do you mean?” she asked, after taking a sip from her coffee.
He tossed her a small, golden chain. “The outfit should form around that chain. I had Lyla upload different outfits for the day, since she probably knows better than I do. When you’re ready, put it on.” Lorena admired the golden material. She was lucky she wasn’t a silver jewelry girl. “So what’s on the to-do list for today,” she said, still looking at the chain. “Stay undercover for the majority of the day, then head over to the Moonlit River club at night. Lyla should have that outfit uploaded by now,” he responded, brushing his teeth with the provided amenities in the motel.
“Why, are you finally deciding to take me out dancing to pay me for my troubles,” she joked, taking a sip of coffee after. Miguel spit out his toothpaste and sighed. “Brock meets up there on Thursday nights to trade weapons.”
Silence filled the space between them.
She knew this day had to come. She just wasn’t expecting it to be so soon.
“I see,” was all she could manage to say, before taking another sip of her coffee.
Miguel could feel the turmoil radiating off of her from the bathroom. He washed out his mouth, and splashed a bit of water on his face before walking over to her. He pushed the box of pastries to the side, and took a seat in front of her on the sheets.
“Mirarme,” he softly spoke, using his pointer finger to guide her eyes to his. She looked up at him, trying her best not to get lost in the crimson shade of his eyes. “I-” He cut himself off before he could continue. He melded her hand into his before speaking again. “I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. I want you to know that if this becomes too much for you…you can back out.” His inflection was weird. As if he didn’t want her to, but still wanted to keep her comfortable. A wrestling match between what he wanted and what was best for her.
“And I’ve said it before too. I’m not running away from this,” Lorena said back, voice strong. “Ok. Just know if things get bad for you in there, I’ve got your back,” he said, concern in his voice. He had also found his eyes roaming her face, not realizing they had both subconsciously moved closer to each other. “And I’ve got yours too,” she said back. Once he had realized Lorena’s robe was loose enough to see inside to her chest, Miguel cleared his throat and got up from the bed quickly.
“I’m gonna go into town, see if I can pick up any information on the street. You can do whatever you want until its time, but make sure to-” “Yeah, yeah, lay low. Relax big guy, I’ve got this,” she cut him off, reassuringly. He exited the room quickly, like he was in a rush to get away from her. He was gone for almost the rest of the day.
-----------------
About 8pm that night.
Miguel was outside in the main room of the motel while Lorena was getting herself ready in the bathroom. Miguel had gone out earlier and bought her some cheap makeup and perfume from a local drugstore, a sweet gesture.
Once she finished with her makeup and straightening up her hair, she tapped on the middle part of her gold chain, causing a menu to pop up. She scrolled through the options until she came across the last one, labeled by Lyla as “night time😉”. She clicked on the option, as she watched in awe as her casual t-shirt and sweatpants shifted into her outfit for the night. A tight black dress, cut asymmetrically to show one of her thighs, and a turtle neck part detached from the rest of the dress, with glove-like sleeves. This feature allowed for the perfect peephole towards her chest. Lorena had a feeling Lyla would try to do some matchmaking with her outfit.
With a quick spritz of perfume, a double check of her face in the mirror, and quickly putting on a black headband for her hair, Lorena quickly exited the bathroom. Miguel was standing there, waiting by the door and checking his portal watch. He was sporting a black, silk, button up shirt, tucked into black dress pants. The fact that the shirt was way too tight for him was accentuated by his muscles sculpted by the fabric and the fact that the first two buttons were open. His eye was caught by Lorena when she stepped out of the bathroom, his mouth slightly agape in awe and his eyes almost stuck to her.
“It’s flashy, I know. But it’s better that I fit in,” she said, trying to divide the tension in the room as she walked closer to him. “I-...um,” he stammered. “At a loss for words for once O’Hara?” she teased. Noticing a stray hair on the top of his head, she reached up to him to push it back. “Quédate quieto,” she commanded softly, while she stuck the piece back into the gel, trying to ignore how he was admiring her.
“There you go. Ahora te ves guapo,” she teased, patting his chest with her hand. Miguel still had that stupid smile on his face. “Y te ves hermosa,” he said softly, and with utter sincerity.
She couldn’t tell if she was caught more off guard with his words of affirmation, or the fact that the blush quickly forming on her cheeks was confirming her secret love of it.
Clearing her throat, she unlocked the door, opened it, and gestured her hand to outside. “Lead the way big guy.” He smirked at her as he walked outside. He even got the courage to offer her his hand. This confidence was quickly deflated when she smacked away his hand, giggling to herself as she took the lead down the stairs.
The night life of the city was bustling on the streets. Couples together, arm in arm, surely walking to a fancy restaurant for a night out. Lines forming outside of nightclubs, patrons with an urgency to get in. Everyone walking down the street with their own story to tell, just like Lorena.
After walking for a couple of miles, the bright, neon blue sign shone in front of the entrance. The door was a mahogany red, with three stairs leading down to the entrance. But opposite to Miguel’s eagerness to get inside by opening the door, Lorena slightly froze, eyes blank.
This was it. It was going to happen. Whether she was ready or not.
“Hey.” Miguel’s calm voice pulled her back to reality. “Stay with me. Okay?” He held out his large hand for her. This time, she decided to take it. “And remember to try and fit in,” he added. Her smile quickly turned sour and annoyed.
The atmosphere was loud, a mixture of people talking and the bass of the music filling the room. The fact that the lights were out didn’t seem to matter much with the amount of strobe and neon lights flashing within the bar. Lorena noticed Miguel quickly putting on a pair of sunglasses hidden in his jacket pocket. “I thought you said we needed to fit in,” Lorena stated as the two walked towards a high top near the bar. “I did. And?” “You really think you’re blending in with a pair of sunglasses on indoors? At night? In a club?” Lorena joked. “The lights hurt my eyes,” Miguel said, puppy dog hurt. Lorena had to fight to contain the laughter rising in her chest.
Once they sat down, and the reality of events settled down on Lorena, she began to look around the club. People sprayed out on couches, drunkenly conversing or making out. People out on the dance floor. Men walking into booths in the back, shielded by curtains. Eddie was probably in one of those. “I’m heading to the bar. You want anything?” Miguel asked, snapping her out of her daze. “Uhhhh, just get me something strong,” she brushed off, still not entirely paying attention. He shrugged and walked off to the bar.
Lorena continued to inspect the area, her thoughts bouncing all over the place. What did this Eddie look like? Did he have black hair instead? Was his voice higher? Her Eddie always had a particularly deep tone. Smooth like silk as well. She would spend days on end focusing on the way he would say a single sentence back when she was first crushing on him. Would he act like her Eddie? She realized quickly she probably wouldn’t get the opportunity to find out. She didn’t necessarily want to find out anyways.
…
Would she have to kill him again? Would Miguel make her?
The smack of the glass on the table brought her back to reality. “You weren’t really specific, so I just got you a negroni,” Miguel said, open bottle of beer in his hand. Without a second thought, Lorena downed half the glass just then, proven to be a mistake with how strong the drink actually was. Her mouth curled inwards as her eyes shut closed, letting out a few coughs quickly after.
Miguel laughed slightly, and slammed his hand against her back to help her cough. “What the fuck was that?” “Hey, you told me to get you something strong!” Miguel defended. “I thought you were gonna get me a margarita or something,” Lorena said, rubbing her chest with her hand. “Haven’t had alcohol in more than a year and you hit me with that straight away,” she said to herself. Subconsciously, he handed her his bottle. “Take a sip of that then.” She smiled to herself as she put her lips to the bottle and took a good sip of the beer. “Better?” he asked, like she was a child. “Yes, thank you for your charity sir, you’re so kind,” she responded sarcastically.
“Find anything interesting yet?” Miguel asked, taking back the bottle. Lorena’s eyes went back to the curtains. “Those booths back there look promising. Are we sure he’s here yet though?” Lorena asked. “I have a hunch.” Lorena looked up at Miguel, annoyance on her face. “We’re going…off of a hunch?” “Just trust me on this okay.” Lorena sighed and took another sip of her own drink, wincing again when she put it back down.
Her eyes were drawn away from the drapes and over to the lit up dance floor. She had always been the first one to bring her friends to dance with her when she was younger. Seeing it again brought feelings flooding back to her heart. Spontaneously, she jumped up from her chair and held out her hand to Miguel. “...What are you doing?” he asked, incredibly confused.
“You said we had to blend in, right? We’ll do that better if we’re out there dancing,” she said. “Oh, no way. I don’t dance, chiquita,” he said, almost embarrassed. “Oh come on, for someone with your build? You’ve definitely danced before. Don’t be a debby downer Miggy,” she encouraged, both of them caught slightly off guard by the nickname slip. He rolled his head back, wiped his hands over his face, and let out a deep, annoyed groan. Once he stood up though and took her hand, it was impossible for Lorena to lose the smile growing on her face. “You’re taking the lead though, Loré,” he said, having come up with a nickname for her as well. She hoped the sunglasses he had on would keep him from seeing the blush on her face.
…
They didn’t.
Hand in hand, Lorena led Miguel over to the brightly lit floor, music blasting in the speakers next to them. Miguel stook out like a sore thumb, his huge build making him extremely identifiable among the other strangers on the floor. Lorena fit right in though, immediately beginning to dance to the blasting music. Miguel tried his best to copy her moves, but ended up looking like a fool. “You were right, you really aren’t that good at this,” Lorena teased. “Ha ha, very funny,” Miguel said monotonically. As the music changed slowly to a slower pace, they noticed the people around them grouping to dance into a pairs. She looked up to Miguel. He raised his eyebrow at her, asking her without words. Her smile was confirmation, as they inched towards each other.
Almost as if they were pre-programmed to do so, Lorena wrapped her arms around Miguel’s neck, and his wrapped around her hips. They swayed together slowly to the music, melting into each others touch. He rested his head on her shoulder, his hot breath leaving goosebumps on her skin.
“This isn’t my wheelhouse,” he quietly whispered into her ear, sending shivers down her spine. “Why, better when other music is playing?” she whispered back sarcastically. “Everyone here’s lucky they aren’t playing salsa right now, or I’d be stealing the show.” Lorena let out a laugh. “Is that so?” He nodded, a huge smirk on his face. “I’m more of mambo person myself,” she responded. He smiled at her remark. “You’ll have to teach me some day.”
She struggled to keep the smile on her face as those words entered her head. You’ll have to teach me some day. She hadn’t even begun to think about it. What she would do after this mission was over. The whole point of doing this was so she could be granted her freedom. She wanted it so badly a couple of days ago. But now. She hadn’t even thought of staying as a possibility. Because to her, it wasn’t. She couldn’t invade Miguel’s life like that. She wasn’t even 100% sure how she felt about him, much less on how he felt about her. Besides, no matter how much she just wanted to settle down with someone. To live an actual life. She didn’t deserve it.
Pulling away from him was like separating herself from her source of life, but she did it anyways. “You okay?” Miguel asked concerned. “Yeah, I just gotta freshen up for a second,” she said, wiping her nose. She turned around quickly to get away. Too quickly though, bumping into someone’s back on her way to the bathroom.
Knocked off her balance, and her headband knocked out of her hair, she fell to the floor on her ass. “Sorry about that,” she said, slightly dissociated, reaching out for her headband. The stranger also reached down to help with her headband. “It’s okay, don’t worry about it gorgeous.”
Her heart dropped to her stomach.
That voice.
“Don’t lose your heart.”
She desperately wanted to keep her eyes glued to the floor. She didn’t want to look at him. But she had to keep her cover up. So she did, as slowly as she could though. And it was the worst possibly outcome.
He looked just like him. Strawberry blonde hair. Deep blue eyes. Small scar just above right eyebrow. His bottom two teeth fighting for room on the bottom row of his mouth. There was only one difference though. One of her favorite parts about him. This Eddie was missing his freckles. His beautiful light brown freckles.
She gave the stranger with her dead boyfriend’s face a strained smile while she grabbed her headband and rushed behind to the door. Her own brain pounding in her head was too loud for her to hear Miguel as she nearly ran passed him. She slammed the door to the outside open as she took in the air like it was her first breath ever. Even if she was outside now, she kept running. She sprinted down the streets, not taking any of her surroundings into account. She saw him in everyone’s face. His ghost had always been haunting her, but she wasn’t ready for him to move from behind her back to in front of her face. She ran so far and so fast until her legs ached, and even after that. She didn’t even know where she was going. She didn’t care. She just needed to get away from him as quickly as possible. Even if that meant leaving Miguel behind too.
Her sprint was interrupted when her foot was caught in a change in the elevation on the sidewalk. Her face slammed into the concrete sidewalk, scraping her cheek and her knees. She used the rest of her strength, all drained out from her bolting, to crawl into a nearby alley. She made her way to the back and slunk down into the corner, hoping to meld into the brick behind her. Especially if it meant she never had to see him again.

lee oathofkaslana, i was wondering if you have any advice for getting into hi3, especially in regards to digging into the lore. i’ve been following along with your hi3 posts for literal months and i get more intrigued each time you discuss it so i finally decided to just go for it. i know theres the game/webtoon/animated shorts/cooking with valks but i’m not totally sure about how to go about approaching all of it and the more obscure elements (like the other games with the hi3 characters) because i don’t want to miss out on anything. is there a certain order of approach that you suggest? also, are there any resources that may help with taking it all in, like explaining the basics and the timeline or something like that? there’s no pressure to answer right away, i’m sure you might want time to compile your thoughts, i just trust your judgement on how to get into hi3 over trying to figure it out myself based on how knowledgeable you appear to be about everything.
cracks knuckles. anon im being so serious this made my day both bc of your kind words and bc its the perfect opportunity for me to infodump about hi3 resources (<- especially unfortunate part of my current interest on hi3 is that im a lil too deep into things about the game that dont really matter?? thats beside the point)
lee oathofkaslana's hi3 starter guide :) ps: important. please please read my warning in the comics section of other content.
reading lists! ok this is the most important thing so its going first. hi3's comics are a lot more important to the plot than like. genshin's. and its kinda annoying bc in some cases you'll be guided from going between chapters of the game to a comic and vice versa. i highly recommend checking out both of these reading lists: hoyostans reading guide (start from part 1 phase 1) archives wiki hi3 reading list the seconds a lot easier to follow imo! especially with the earlier ones. i personally prefer primarily using the second one and then consulting the first to see if there's any extra content that's missing (since some ggz/retconned hi3 comics are linked there and provide some context! the first one also has some very helpful notes from the OP!) i DO think that reading the comics in the order listed on the archives wiki and then starting chapter one is best. it might feel like a dip in story telling though but i promise it will get a lot btter once theyre a lot more stable w their game development and writing :)
other content: comics: ok first i have to put a warning. escape from nagazora is from ggz iirc and like. early ggz and early hi3 humor kinda sucks ass. there's awful sexualization of underaged girls and its weird about women and this is where a lot of the fetishization comes in. they're also not normal about consent here. also another warning about azure waters. it heavily references CSA and has an almost rape scene and i completely hated the way it was all visually portrayed. if needed I will gladly summarize these comics for you without any of those details. this aside, the comics are included in the reading guides! there are also non-canonical ones though! (4komas featured on the manga site and 4komas from the jp twitter! theres a google drive linked in the other post w fan translations. they're comedic and not at all canonical but they may spoil things since its run coincides with the game's progress so i dont really recommend reading them until you're farther along. atm i am just starting part 1.5 and ive read most of it, but i am intentionally avoiding newer ones just by looking at what design is in the thumbnail. they're very quick to read though dw!) animated shorts -> they are included in the game :) if you would prefer watching them in chinese, i'm afraid you'll have to look at it on youtube though :' for some reason on the western servers all the CG's in the first part are in japanese even if you switch your language to chinese. chronicles -> they're included in both the reading guides! theres some that aren't very lore relevant (dreams of gemima and kallen chronicles) but they're a fine source of weapons and crystals (hi3 equiv of primos) part 2 -> i haven't started it yet but from what i've seen, it's recommended that you finish part 1 before this. open-world -> again, follow the reading order for these :) the only exception is APHO because that takes place in the future (after part 1.5). i haven't finished it and i personally don’t plan to until after i do 1.5 in case there's any important spoilers! there are major hints that kinda spoil the end of part 1 though. <- same with the alien space comic. it takes place. sometime after APHO i think. other universe events -> primarily captainverse. obv these take place in a different universe! these characters are not the same as the main characters. iirc the only one that's really lore-relevant is honkai salvation log (it comes later in the game and later in the hoyostans reading guide!!) donghua: cooking with valks: not canonical content. season 1 is pretty safe but it is best watched after chapter 12 to get full context for some references! honestly you could probably get by with watching the rest of the series after imo but if you'd prefer to play it safe, the hoyostans guide includes it :) golden courtyard: do not watch this one until you finish chapter 31. journey crisis: do not watch this until you finish part 1.5 ggz/hg2: honestly. you don't need to know ggz for hi3. you would benefit from knowing the retrospective timeline's history for the main trio but from there on, ggz and hi3 follow completely different stories with different characters. honestly you could go by without knowing the main trio's history in retro i think its already explained enough in the main story and other media.
links. youtube: homulabs -> has cohesive lore videos that help a lot (esp later on)! also has some hsr stuff if you're interested :) hide's honkai archives -> playthroughs of all of part 1 completely in chinese (including cut scenes). also fixes up some of the translations since i believe the eng translations are translated from the jp dub! i mostly use this to both rewatch chapters when i need background noise and look at cutscenes with OP's translations. i find it interesting.. official hi3 youtube visual novels: again, look at the reading guides. im pretty sure think some of those links on both guides are wonky though so ill provide them here. ae visual novel (eng) shattered swords/7 swords visual novel (eng) durandal visual novel (eng) i also have a larger post with various links here build/combat: ok this is my weakspot. marisa honkai -> kind of unfortunate backbone of the hi3 community. allegedly kicked someone from his discord server for saying kiana is a lesbian. but his infographics are useful! he also has a youtube but i can't vet how his videos are o7 <- lore player and very obvious about it elysian realm shallow sequence -> in case you're ever struggling w this part. dont worry about it early game though you'll get to it in time. honestly its optional though so.
quick tips/loose info:
the wikis will be your best friend.
do the character trials!! they teach you how to use any of the characters and you can open them whenever you want! if the battlesuit is new, you will also get rewards if you do the trial in time :)
honkai has an absurd amount of currencies for some fucking reason. this is more of a warning than a tip.
ok imo hi3 combat is super super fun but my god the powercreep sucks asssssssss. i hate the process of building characters because you have to pull for characters signature gear and that equipment banner's pity doesnt carry over it fucking sucks.
BUT don't worry too much honestly if you are just playing for the story like i am it doesn't matter too much since you don't need to use your own valkyries for much (story wise). do at least build some though even to a minor degree (you will need them for chronicles)
speaking of gacha though! there's no 50/50 to worry about in honkai!
don't go into the chat for room 1 its fucking scary and full of weirdos (derogatory) and assholes. first and last time i went there i saw homophobes.
remember this is all for fun :) sorry if this seems long or wayyyy too serious i meant it when i say im awfully fixated on this fuckass game! i hope you enjoy it if you continue to play it :DD <3
#hnk3#asks#links#<- in case you wanna save this but are too shy to rb! lmk if you'd like me to tag this with anything else :D#this was really really fun to type up ty anon! sending you love n luck :)#feel free to send any thoughts or reactions :) im obv not normal abt this game and rereading each part of the story is vv fun for me#also feel free to send me any more questions you may have!!!#and i think that is. all i have for now :)

im having a lot of fun. i dont really have a lot of nice things to say about it except the maps are fun to play in and the housing is cool. but that being the case i dont want to come across as coming away from the expansion feeling negatively. bc despite not liking a lot of details about the expansion, it was still as fun as others. i think i maybe even liked it more than some of the larger living world plots and its just started.
mostly, im just not interested in many family-based narratives. i dont have a family so it just usually takes a more... impactful relationship to make me interested in the dynamics. it being a whole cast of new characters and a new fantasy group of people made me even less inclined to invest myself in their issues bc i was still trying to figure out the context for these characters and this place.
it did explain why caithe went with us though. i thought that was so random but then it went on to be the unresolved mommy issues chapter and she is like the grand champion of mommy issues bc she just made them all up in her head. like... i always thought it was SO WEIRD how caithe treats aurene so much like a mother to child. like except for weird dragon bond magic i dont really understand how or why her character has gone from being calculated and cunning to just like, doting and brooding over a child that was really the player characters' if anyones. she says like "our daughter"or some shit to you at the end of this one and i was like ooooooooo ehhhhhhhh about that. i love u caithe... and i think u rule.... but you are my least favorite member if every group we are in together so its a little weird for you to talk about the baby u have with me sorry.
malice it was like. cool to remember she exists. she is still just an extension of other characters and not really speaking for herself in a way that matters. just too shy about her position to do much. dont know where thats going but it could be cool to see her become important as a character for how important she was in specifc parts of the story. shes neat! i wanna be excited to see her but rn for her and caithe i was just like. oh :/ was literally everyone else busy? lol
poky is weirdly just like braham. i kinda wish braham just came bc i think its crazy we just sort of touched base and that was it. like dude whats up!!?
omg real quick. Stoic Alder. i am so sorry. you talk WAY. TOO. SLOW. i cant stand it. i never do this but his was the first time playing in 12 years that i actively sought to miss a character's dialogue. i was getting drinks etc every other time he talked bc it was largely summative in nature and soo. slowwwww. all the lowland koda sort of talked that way but his was so hard for me. do they pick leaders based on who talks slowest? lol. the council was dope i like them. but especially when it was all about his estranged relationship with his son bc of his dead wife or whatever. like thats sad bear stuff i guess but it happens bro lol. i dont think the first 5minutes of Up is said either bc like they lived a happy life together ppl die and thats normal.
but thats beside the point. i guess it just felt a little like we were mostly dealing with slice of life issues while what could very well be a devastating threat was brewing just north all the while.
i didnt think titans were ever coming back tbh. sort of a deep cut while being relevant no matter what bc of lore reasons. its kind of cool bc pretty much everyone has a potential stake in it. if their people werent directly affected by the titans of the past, the actions of the peoples they manipulated were pretty much felt by everybody.
im not happy about having to wait to unlock the rest of the core crafting disciplines for my housing since im fairly certain there will be many future ways to craft expanding on that. diverting the access to the last (better, likely) half of recipes is kind of frustrating. i missed when they manipulated our gameplay in more subtle ways. there are a lot of things about this and the last expansion that really make it seem like theyre trying to negotiate with your willingness to waste your time. and i dont appreciate it lol. but its not a big deal. im mostly excited about future expansions.
like i loved in the prologue how they walked us around the room to tell us more or less the next things the alliance would be dealing with. v excited to go back to elona in the future. and the tengu... how long must i bang my fists against the walls of the dominion of winds before they let us innnnn. in my truest fantasy its bc theyre going to let us make tengu characters. but i know its delusional dont worry. the hope keeps me young.
overall i LOVE the spear skills. huge spear fan here. i really wish they hadnt just stopped making underwater skins for black lion weapon lines bc a lot of them would probably have nice spears we could be using. its... a little silly of them when you think about it. im starving for a better variety of spears! and i did sort of expect more than like 4 when the expansion came out. the spear expansion with a spear on the cover.
whispering sorrow is a very complicated character that i still feel as if i have learned the most about from lore documents despite having met her. i want to like her, and i think she's really cool because of what she can do. but i want to like her because of why she does things too, and im just sort of waiting to see why that could be. or at least to hear it from her mouth.
also just bc i remembered it. i hope poky joins our little guild. i want to like him bc i like braham and theyre so much alike. i wanna see how theyre different too. but i feel he hasnt had as much time yet to banter with us bc we have been mostly dealing with his personal issues. and rightly so! but we got to play w braham a lot before his life fell apart so idk i just think it would be cool if in like a year i was drawing poky and braham doing karaoke together or something lol

i think this my first time being late to an update omg…🕷️ anon washed
starting off with business matter first…would it be crazy if i said this was my fav update 😭😭 i loved chapter 92 specifically because it forces serim & rina to both face their feelings (& doubts), intimacy could only go so long as a form of communication b4 they both were left unsatisfied (more so serim) its rlly sad even now karina cant fully accept her feelings using ning as an excuse to let their bond go (not rlly an excuse but how she self sabotage b4 anything could rlly happen) it was such a good chapter and i just like angst (obvs by now)
im rlly worred about ningning in all this tho…whether serim & rina end up together or she ends up with serim (with the knowledge that she will never feel how she feels for jimin) its a lose lose situation for her…unless im reading too much into it and shes not taking her time with serim seriously/just having fun
them saying goodbye to eo was amazingly beautiful i dont even know what to say…bittersweet i guess
KYUIN GIRLFAILURE WE LOVE U ALREADY 🫶🫶 also adding another delulu jimin into my bag thank u 💋 i think i say this about all the friendgroups in ur stories but I LOVE novaHIVI DYNAMIC ALREADY THEY FAMILY (havent stopped thinking about this group either like u cooked so bad here)
the difference between how anthology!kazuha and hole in one!kazuha act dhsbshsnsn
minjeong n milf 👍👍
i just wanna say i liked minkwan…i probably didnt say anything tho cause my peasized brain zeros in on yuri 😕
SUCH A WASTE ON CHITTAPHON NOOOOO U SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I LEAVE, THE GAY BOYS NEED LOVE TOO 😭😭 (its also interactive too so the min i figure out how that works im getting my mean gay boy x loser gay girl both being down bad serve idc)
simon says is amazing…we just love father dem jointz over here and we thank god everyday sm passes him around like a groupie in that building
also so many anons are flirting with u now that means u made it…dont forget me when ur famous
- 🕷️
it's literally the end of the deal, it's so important, makes total sense !! and all of the events and circumstances make it more hard for them to be delusional about what they feel, serim couldn't hold it anymore. glad you enjoyed it, even if it was some sad episodes.
yeah, with the new update i just posted 😀 ningning's situation changes a little, since she's actually capable of trying and prioritizing her mental sanity, although it's probably gonna hurt for her in any scenario, she's more aware and ready than the other two
kyuin is a cutie that has barely learnt how to exist in society, we need to protect her 😭 i have already accepted i'm never writing a normal boring jimin, i always have to make her borderline schizophrenic 😔 so happy to hear you like novahivi's dynamic, you always focus on the things that matter to me 😅 i always prioritize the main character's friend groups a lot and i find particularly fun writing novahivi interacting with each other
shut up finally a kazuha that's not attempting to murder anyone (YET) (jokey joke)
minjeong and milf 🫴🏼
OH NOW EVERYONE LIKES MINKWAN GET OUTTA HERE, Y'ALL ARE TOO LATE
this blog is a woman's world i swear, readers don't even support gay men 😔 i will support any idea you have to get the gays thriving and vibing
father demjointz 😭 literally, i owe him so much, has given me my fav kpop songs
i will never forget you, spidey, you're literally my everything

Chainsaw Man Chapter 150 "Early" Analysis
Hoo boy what a chapter how are we all doing cause Fujimoto came out fucking swinging this chapter. Before that I should give some context as to my day caused I went to bed at like 4am then woke up at 8:30am didn't go back to sleep because I had classes so I read this entire chapter in kind of a haze. So all the Tricks Fujimoto was playing were catching me. Like I was reading and I see that woman in the left and I have to do a double take "what the fuck is asa doing there- oh thats not asa" THEN IN THE NEXT PANEL I DIDN'T EVEN CATCH THIS UNTIL LATER DENJI IS DOING THE EXACT SAME FUCKING DOUBLE TAKE
I originally clocked this scene as being about Denji being upset about everything still being normal despite the circumstances but I don't think thats it anymore. He looks genuinely shaken and Im sure most of that is being worried about the apartment and the pets but then seeing someone who looks so much like Asa has probably genuinely rattled him more.
And this fucking page was vile Fujimoto how dare you. I thought for a moment in my sleep delusion that everything was okay and they'd gotten home and just continued to live their life despite all the shit going on because that seemed to be what was being set up with Nayuta's "They're still going about their lives despite whats going on" line.
This whole panel is very intentional and its kind of weird and still kinda sickens me a bit because its so fucking ARGH. We've known Denji isn't really happy and he hasn't been for a long time he's just been going through the motions. Being Chainsaw Man was the one thing that he still had that could bring him happiness. I know this is going to sound like an awful thing to say but the way everything has been framed upto this point especially with Nayuta on his back kind of frames her like a burden to Denji. I know its a terrible thing to say I know he loves her and cares about her and I don't know if he's even on the same wavelength but his complacency and loss of his core happiness has been due to Makima and indirectly Nayuta. I doubt Denji blames Nayuta for any of it because it isn't her fault that she's being used as a hostage. It feels like Barem has infected my fucking thought stream.
This marks Pochita's first in manga appearance in like the entirety of part 2. This whole sequence seems to be mirroring Denji and Asa since Asa/Yoru has the recurring nightmare about the dead birds and then tripping up at the most important moments.
I wasn't even really sure if this scene was real at first like if this was really their house on fire. I didn't even really register what this all meant until Barem started talking about it.
Stop lying we know its because you're afraid Asa would kick your ass.
Barem's transformation trigger being a molar is still weird. I've been trying to figure out why its a molar because hybrids usually have triggers relating to the weapon they embody. Denji pulls a chainsaw ripcord, Reze pulls the pin on a grenade, Katana Man unsheathes his sword, Ect. So the possible explanations for Barem me and my friends came up with; 1. It's wordplay a molar is a unit of measurement (a mole) which refers to the amounts of a single substance within a solution. So it could be like flamethrower fluid? 2. It's a lighter switch like that bit at the top of a lighter that makes the spark. This one is more likely and could potentially mean Barem can transform/regen without using his hands which would make him VERY dangerous. Now to the most insane part of the chapter
THIS FUCKING WOMAN NO THIS FUCKING THING THIS CREATURE KNOWN AS FUMIKO HER PLOT ARMOR IS FUCKING UNPIERCABLE. How does he escape the whip hybrid point blank when the other members all got hit and are very clearly damaged by it? Only two possible explanations which are both sickening, Fujimoto has something planned for her (Hopefully her DEATH). Worse off, She's going to survive part 2. ALSO Now unrelated to Fumiko, I guess The fucking public safety hunters are absolute dogshit are you kidding me dude?? Lets recap all these events that have taken place within at maximum a single hour (probably less than 30 minutes). 1. Denji and Nayuta go to the park 2. Hybrids attack, Quanxi dismisses them all and they're assumably put into custody 3. Fire contracts activate and Barem escapes custody 4. Yoru fights Yoshida, Yoshida flees 5. Barem runs straight to Denji's house and burns it to the ground 6. Sometime between 3 and 5 the Hybrids ESCAPE custody and make it to Denji's house in order to aid Barem. I'm choosing to blame this all on Fumiko cause she was supposed to be DOING SHIT and yet all she does is run away and do fucking nothing ever this is atrocious this woman has to go. Heres my fucking theory I established on my Death Devil post (The Yoshida Joke one) that the Horsemen on earth are all fiends of some sort, But their power likely doesn't diminish as much as normal fiends. Fumiko's purpose will be as the corpse the death devil inhabits thats why shes been given such a focus and thats why she has this fucking giorno giovanna tier plot armor ALSO IS BAREM'S FULL FUCKING NAME REALLY "Barem Bridge" IS THAT FUCKING REAL IS THIS NAME REALLY JUST FUCKING FUCKING "Burn Them Bridge" WHEN YOU SAY IT OUTLOUD IS THAT REAL?

YAYYYY I CAN FINALLY TALK ABT THESE!!!
Star and i started playing with the idea of the gallery opening for (WIK)YWM back in october and we got lost in the weeds thinking abt what the waynes would wear to an event like this.
It was so much fun to mess around with more fashion oriented illustration since thats not normally my wheelhouse but i had so much fun
Now, i will be the first to admit that Tim’s outfit is fucking goofy, but that was entirely the point.
The thought was that Yes, he is technically the host, and this is Technically a high society event, but Tim’s a lil shit stirrer and i think he’d get a kick out of seeing all these stuffy 1%ers huffing and puffing abt his outfit choices
plus i felt like it matched the theme of the gallery. Paying homage not just to Mapplethorpes Photography, but his impact as well
jacket | pants | top | belt | boots
Dicks was SOOOOO fun to design
he’s like a barbie doll to me idk what else to say
we took inspiration from a bunch of actual Oscar De La Renta pieces when trying to figure dicks garment out (star’s the one who suggested i look at their catalogue when we were brainstorming, everyone say thank you star!) but i knew what i wanted to put him in as soon as we chose mapplethorpe as the focus of the gallery
(i didnt end up drawing wally’s </3 i really wanted to, but i no longer have the free time to. maybe one day. we’ll see)
inspo | inspo | inspo
Bruce’s was a Fucking Challenge let me tell you
and im going to be honest, i dont know a damn thing about menswear other than the fact that 9/10 its boring as hell. I just wanted it to be fun and funky.
And yeah, okay maybe this isnt the kind of thing that bruce would typically wear, but i feel like him putting this much effort into dressing on theme for tims event is just a nice little “im proud of you” moment, even if he cant use his words to say it.
i did not look at other suits for inspo other than to figure out how the fuck to draw a tux jacket. so no inspo pics for this one, srry.
alright, thats all for now. Its late and i just wanna post this chapter

Thought immediately about Rue and LSDL, so Enver’s POV: Hometown & Young - Blackout
https://open.spotify.com/track/1l2tobE9EUNepryZCNrpG4?si=cLp44sbySXaMyrZBIs-jGQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A0udP9yp8qTYTAoCEBc4n9R
My love's a cigarette death (everything he once loved ended badly or rue being deadly af?)
And I don’t even know where she runs to (rue going back to the temple or leaving after arguments)
Half the time in my head (not being able to concentrate cuz of her)
But lord I’d love to figure it out (him trying and trying again to figure out where the temple is)
Slowly she comes back to me (self-explanatory)
My thoughts of a wedding ring (their lil convo in the latest chapter ARGH)
My love has grown so cold as ice (after everything that’s happened to him, Bane being anti-lOvE & anxiety when it comes to rue)
My breath is white (Mephistopheles/Mephistar/Cania heist?)
Can you please take it away from me? (Him praying to Bane, trying to push down the weakness *cough* feelings)
Slowly she comes back to me
She says she wants everything (every single life, killing everyone for bhaal)
My heart, my head can’t explain (being torn between rue and following his plans & duties)
But in a blackout that’s all she says
My brains a silicon chip
My body is a suit to slip in to (putting on a show/mask & his anxiety coat)
But it seems I don’t fit (not being wanted by anyone in his life before?)
But I can hear her calling my name ("you only call me that when you want something" ~~Enver~~ pwease)
The silence it thrives at night (not being able to sleep at night, especially without the clutches of his fav Bhaalspawn)
Who knows how, when, or why? (Thinking about her promise to kill him last)
Blackened palms up to the sky (Bane worship & when rue and him tried to find out who myrkul‘s chosen is, by "praying")
When thoughts they come in then bleed out of my mind (engineering ideas, scribbling them down, building ˋem & not being able to keep up with thoughts)
And I try so hard to forget (trauma, his past)
Aim for my head cause that’s where the trouble is (maybe consuming alcohol?)
She snaps my neck back into place (latest chapter: him having a tantrum and rue giving advice what to do)
With her blue fingertips (isn’t rue a Mephistopheles tiefling?)
What a wasteful mistake (rue‘s line about their previous hookups)
Oh my god (maybe being overwhelmed, bane pwease h e l p)
And I can smell her skin (self-explanatory)
I know that, That this cage I’m in (bane owning him, his soul)
I’m broken (trauma & past)
She sang (either him to sleep haha or drawing him in like a siren?)
She sang
ANON I AM HOLDING YOU SO CLOSE TO ME RIGHT NOW THIS IS THE COOLEST THING EVER!!!! YES YES YES TO ALL OF THIS!!!! YOU SEE THE VISION!!! YOU GET THEM!!!!! <3<3<3<3
IT WORKS IT FITS!!! im buzzing i cannot form the right words but know this has gone STRAIGHT to my heart and now im overthinking about them again!!!!! aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!
"My heart, my head can’t explain" (being torn between rue and following his plans & duties)" thinking so hard about this. there's a line ive got planned for one of the later chapters that fits around the theme of rue vs his duties and :) enver gortash your mind is so fun to dive into. call me a mindflayer parasite the way im wiggling around in there
i love love love analysing lyrics to fit them and this??? perfect, no notes at all!! fun fact i started writing up key lyrics from songs that are on the playlist i made for them that Capture Their Vibes Perfectly just like that im so glad to see im not the only one who goes line by line + puts things into their perspective. (i am. normal about these two i promise!!!!)
also i immediately added it to their playlist i have for them. linked it below because its the only thing i listen to anymore
(+ also listening to more of hometown & young. they are so good how have i not stumbled across them before. thank u dearest anon<3)
going to think about this for the rest of the day anon thank u for this!!!!!!!!
(+ yea rue is a mephistopheles tiefling despite her claims that shes "not a tiefling" and "is bhaals flesh" she's lying do not believe a word she say. i think the mephistar heist is going to be so funny because of it.)
#; tea time#anon#; let sleeping dogs lie#this has actually made my day i love this#thank u anon!!!! your mind!!! you get them!!!!!

Tale of 10 chapter 6
1. The group of boys Continued to ride. Jesse Took a very deep breath. He looked at the scene around him and took note of the damages to the rv. Admittedly it wasnt as bad as it could be considering what happened.
2. It still didnt make Dj feel any better apon seeing one of his oldest freinds looking so distraught. This RV was Jesses home. He worked since he was 15 for this truck. He almost dropped out junior year to keep his job.
3. Dj walked over to his old freind."If theres anything i can do please tell me jess." Jesse just smiled." I love this thing. But thats all it is brother just a thing. Id rather lose it then you guys."
4. In silent agreement Rick an josè nodded there heads."yeah an besides we can always help fix it." José said cheerfully. Jesse raised a brow."you know how to replace a dashboard broken windshelid an numrous holes along the back?"
5. Jose chuckled nervously "well we can always watch you do it." Jess rolled his eyes." Thats what I thought now lets figure this out" jess pointed at Dj.
6. Two hours later. Progress had been slow. Rick had been trying to focus on how Djs biology worked. Honestly he had no clue." My best guess is you're currently some sort of alien. "
7. Everyone sorta just looked at him confused."how did you come up with that one Sherlock?" José asked sarcastically. Rick sighed." Well, those robot things seemed to come from space. An im guessing they were after you since I dont see any other reason to attack."
8.while not satifyed the boys accepted it as jesse started tapping hard on the hourglass symbol." Jess you good dude?"Dj asked. Jess didnt awnser right away but spoke after a minute or two."I think you should be able to push this down but it looks stuck."
9. Dj nodded before thinking for a moment. He then started repeatedly smacking the symbol. After a few minutes a red flash blinded everyone before everyone saw the form of Dj.
10. Dj looked down observing his body. Everything seemed normal even his cloths were back untill he look as his wrist. There on his wrist was a green an black watch. The frimliar hour glass symbol was also present. However parts of the watch looked damaged.
11. The hourglass symbol had a noticeable crack although its was faint an didn't distort the symbol. Some parts looked to have exposed wiring. As if the covering had been removed. But most noticble part was that something was effecting the skin around Djs arm. Little, thick, green, square ,like lines. It almost looked like a tattoo of some sort.
12. It made Dj feel uncomfortable. He immediately reach for it. Attempting to rip it off him. He struggled for a minute before his face went pale. Rick then noticed djs face as jose an jesse inspected the rest of djs body for any injuries. "Hey buddy uh whats wrong?" Rick asked as Dj stared at him.
13. Jose an Jesse were now concerned as well. "Hola hermano ¿estás bien? Estamos preocupados por ti. ...Te ves pálido" José questioned. Jesse shook his freind slightly trying to get him to react.
14. Finally he spoke. "Its stuck." The boys all go quiet. "Its fused to MY FUCKING SKIN!!!!" Dj started to scream while waving his arm wildly while the boys try to calm him.
15. After nearly an hour of panicked screaming the boys gather around Dj. At this point the boys had been trying to remove the watch using various tools most of witch were broken. The boys were now trying something new
16."Guys this is a bad idea." Said Dj as jose attached jummper cables to the watch. Rick an Jesse looked back at there freind an shrugged. "Its fine our plan is solid" Rick then chimed in. "Its this or the hacksaw.". Dj gulped. "Hey dont worry man I got only one arm an im fine."
17. " I still don't like this I dont care what happens to me but what if you guys get hurt trying to hack this thing.!" Jesse just laughed. "Dont worry besides were not hacking anything were gonna use ricks laptop to create a electrical feedback loop. Witch will hopefully cause a system overload loop to shut down whats restraining you."
18. Dj an jose give him a blank stare. Rick sighs an face palm. "Doctor redneck here is trying to fry the watch." The two nod. "Yeah frying the alien watch still sounds like a bad idea. I just don't want my best freinds getting vaporized. " dj said before he sighed." But I can't really stop you from helping."
19."Dam right now lets fry some bacon!" Yelled jesse as he started. The computer humed to life along with the watch. Jose and ruck kept a hand around each clamp incase the needed to stop.
20. Dj tryed his best to stay calm. Jose smiled "see essay were good nothing can go wrong." Rick jesse an dj gave him a stink eye as the watcu started to glow. "You just had to say it." Said dj. Jesses panicked an started to press the keys quickly. "Shit! Get thoses off him! Now!"
21. without hesitation the boys started to pull hard but soon found the clamps were stuck."Guys forget me run!" Jose pulled harded the vain in his arm showing. " HELL NO. Were brothers amigo! We wont leave you behind!"
22. Rick strained as well pulling with both hands. "It will be a cold day in hell before we abadon- whats happing to our hands?" In response José looked down at his hand an noticed it was turning a dark green while ricks were turning black.
23. They looked to jesse who held up two unnaturally white hands before a green light took over there vision. A Shockwave of green energy erupted from the watch an knocked them unconscious.
24. Meanwhile far off in space on the planet Galvin prime.
25.A small 3 inch gray alien in green robes tinkered away. He have a smirk on his face as the small machine came to life. It looked like a mechanical spider. "Theses new drones should make repairs easier. Of course this is only a prototype."
26.As the alien admired his work another alien rushed in yelling nonsense as he tryed to get the others attention. This alien wore a lab coat with large oversized googles.
27. The first alien sighed. "Darwin please I know taking the role as my new assistant has gotten you nervous but I cant understand you. Witch is saying something as I know over 12000 different languages. At least breathe"
28. The alien took a deep breathe. "My apologies first thinker asmuth. But its happened. The omnitrix is back online. An I think it done something to earth."
29. Dawrin handed a tablet to asmuth. The first thinker sighed." It seems the past is catching up with us. It looks like someone tryed overloading the omnitrix but only cuased it to release a wave of dna across the planet. This is very bad. I must seek audience with the guardians of Oa an gain permission to one again return to earth.
30. Darwin gulped. "First thinker they banned you from returning after the incident. " asmuth chuckled "its only an incident if i did something on accident. Whatever the case earth is in grave danger. I only hope the new guardian is as worthy as Tennyson. May his gods watch over him. Because i doubt were the only ones who took notice."
