if he’s really desperate, and you’ve been ignoring his attempts to get your attention, this might be the moment where he shows an almost childlike side of himself. he’d show up at your door, completely disheveled, and beg you to stay. he’d get on his knees if he thought it’d work, his pride be damned.

after the breakup, if you don’t take him back, he’d probably spiral even worse. he’d rely heavily on unhealthy coping mechanisms—drugs, drinking, or surrounding himself with people who don’t actually care about him. but no matter how hard he tries to distract himself, his mind would always drift back to you. he’d fixate on what he did wrong, though he wouldn’t know how to fix it.

if you did give him a second chance after all this, he’d try to be better, but it’d be a slow, messy process. nam-gyu doesn’t know how to handle his emotions or build a healthy relationship, so even his attempts at improving would be kinda flawed. but the fear of losing you again would drive him to at least try—though whether or not he can actually change is another story.

Based on the part of season 2 where Viktor is literally taking over the world and also the alternate universe where he literally succeeded.

I think it’d be interesting to see a jinx/ekko/jayce team up. Would they get along? Absolutely not. Jinx literally blew up the council room and Jayce created hextech which contributed to a loss of wealth for the undercity. Jinx and Jayce would kill each other if not for the fact that they’re probably the only people who have survived.

If you’re asking why jinx, Ekko and Jayce, it’s because Jinx and Ekko could conceivably avoid Viktor’s control (we literally see jinx avoid it and Ekko has the Z-drive) and Viktor straight up has a soft spot for Jayce and while the Viktor who is Actively Causing the apocalypse may not show it, AU Viktor could have shown him how to survive in the Apocalypse. Also Jinx and Ekko just have incentive to keep him alive considering he’s probably the one who would know how to kill Viktor best (considering the whole AU thing and being his partner for Years)

I think this kind of au would be an interesting way to dissect the darker parts of their characters.

We see a lot of that from jinx in the show and I do think she would struggle to find the will to Stay Alive when literally everyone else is gone. Tbh I think she’d mostly be there on spite and murderous intent for Viktor. She is in Survival Mode which, all things considered, isn’t a bad thing in the Apocalypse. To an extent, they all are. The apocalypse def made her crazy less strange and more helpful. The ability to make weaponry out of basically anything and a willingness to blow up anything that moves is useful all things considered.

Ekko is grappling with the fact that pretty much all the firelights are dead or won’t last long while also trying to keep Jinx and Jayce from killing each other (intentionally or not). He’s lost a lot of people in a short amount of time and is Not Coping Well. He’s always focusing on what’s in front of him but it’s all kind of really bad rn tbh. He’s more temperamental than usual and it matches up badly most of the time with Jinx. She knows this logically but also doesn’t really know what to do abt it. Sometimes to get their minds off everything they talk abt traveling far away from everything where Viktor hasn’t reached yet and living the rest of their lives peacefully. They know it’s practically a pipe dream but sometimes a dream can be all you need to hold out some hope. Ekko is usually the strategist, planning where they go and when. In battle/right before he can give brief warnings because of the Z-drive and has had to adapt to using more force than he’s used to in order kill Viktor’s minion things.

Jayce is… weird honestly. He just went through one apocalypse to get back to another which is arguably worse. He’s prepared and knows what this is like but sometimes the “rich kid” personality still shines through. Like, he’ll eat raw food and sleep on the floor but he’ll still complain abt how he misses his bed and the feasts the kirammans used to throw. I feel like he’d learn a lot abt the undercity from mostly Ekko but also jinx. Jayce being pretty useless without a proper lab would be pretty funny when Jinx and Ekko have always operated without one. Jayce is usually the one getting resources like food/shelter.

I think it’d be interesting to see them fight and interact together considering they’re all so different and we never really see them together in canon.

Ekko and Jinx spend a lot of time together in this au both out of necessity and because they know each other better than anyone. Sometimes their relationship reminds Jayce of his and Viktor’s ‘partnership’. Jayce would get closer to the two even if he’ll never truly understand them. I think Jayce and Jinx would go from “I am two seconds from murdering your ass” to a weird type of sibling-ish relationship. Meanwhile Jayce and Ekko would be bonding while planning what to do next. Also every time Jayce mentions Viktor, Jinx and Ekko both look at him in the “I Know What You Are” type of way. They know better than anyone that just because someone is your enemy, that doesn’t mean you stop loving them.

I wish we could’ve seen the Robot Masters show more that even if manipulated by Sgt Night/Obsidian’s propaganda, they still had moral compasses, like those moments they showed closeness to Mega Man relating to him like FM, DM & AM(wish Aki couldve been able to talk Wave Man down from his flooding & used their powers to fix up the damage). Ngl a lot of the time they def showed them very much enjoying the whole villain/terrorism role, not needing too much pressure to do malicious things, and while some had understandable motives & backstories like Fire & Drill Man’s, others have shown to get provoked rather easy(like Cut Man) to commit terrorism/takeover & not always specifically human motivated despite Obsidians whole “humans r the problem” stuff. I feel like they could’ve pushed alot more for Cut Man & his spiral(play around with mental issues & potential stigma about robots having that)

You’d think for robots who a lot are meant to be seen as just people who felt wronged & manipulated by Night into thinking the system’s wronged robotkind & need to do soemthing about it, they wouldn’t see themselves like genuine bad guys & enjoy that so much. If they were going for a “let them be evil”, embracing the titles people were already viewing them as, show them lashing out that’d be one thing but aside from FM & DM, a lot just kinda seemed really into causing trouble & even repeating the same kinda behaviors that hurt them without much reflection or meant to be a case of “chain of harm”. I remeber when Cut was sent to get Aki, guy legit asked if Night was using him/exploring his issues & when Night confessed was happy to hear. Like WHAT!?

I think it’d been cool to see them show more restraint about what they do, like when Obsidian declares wanting to destroy the light family, show them horrified of the idea of legit KILLING a man & two kids, I can imagine Wave Man would be horrified of the idea of killing sweet Rush.

Same with Daini/Namagem I wish we could’ve seen more moments of him legit being conflicted/genuinely not wanting to just hurt people. Especially with Light saying “no son of mine would ever cross that line” yet there’s been multiple occasions of the boy being pretty ready to cross it.

Imagine if Wave Man was jsut talked down of what he was doing, Aki-We all make mistakes Wave. And believe me in your place, I’d be doing everything I can to make things right, but look at this. This isn’t right a& u know Alligator wouldn’t think so etheir. So how about we clean up this mess, together ok?

I think Wave would make the perfect Token good teammate of the robot masters, being the nicest & most hesitant of doing crimes & more so just like having friends. Same with Cut, I feel like he should’ve had way more hesitance on hurting the Lights, especially after they fixed up his tree.

Imagine if in that ep Elec Man tricking Mega Man into thinking he wanted to change, actually did but after the events of Enemy of my Enemy, made Aki more paranoid & maybe accidentally pushes Elec away, leaving Obsidian to take him back, making him think no one will ever see him beyond just a “energy crazed criminal”.

When Drill Man was wanting to make that whole Drill World, I wondered if he was treating his workers like his dad did with him. Aki if he legit asked Drill Man about what he’s doing & how it’s different from what his dad wanted.

Don’t get me wrong. Not against villains who just own the title, look at Blasto Woman, she’s def aware what she does ain’t illegal & that don’t stop her, it can def work. Especially if it could be a case of them just embracing the role society gave them, “want a big bad robot, well show you that!”. I just wish we could’ve seen more moments of them showing reflection, hesitance as they were once just regular people with regular lives, most wouldn’t be immediately ready to commit robo-terrorism. Make it clear that in the end, a lot of these big bad bots are just very confused & hurt people who fell into the wrong support when they had little to no where else to return to. Imagine if for the battle at the lighthouse when Obsidian made it clear what he was willing to do to the Lights, for the Masters to actually listen to Mega Man & stand down. Only for Obsidian to make Namagem use his Hypno Powers to brainwash them to fight, like how he brainwashed the Good Guild in Gilded Cage.

I also really wish we could’ve seen them bond, grow connections like Wave & Fire Man did. Show them atleast benefitting being together, having true people to relate with. Like have them bicker & argue but show them grow soemthing between them, like a found family.

2. i wanted to keep the part abt his handwriting a lil elusive, but it’s because he used to send her letters when he was younger and less controlled abt his obsession. he grew and became more calculated abt his planning, but ofc his handwriting was still the same

3. THE LASSST LINEEEE there was so much i had to build up to have that part hit as hard as possible. i definitely wanted MC to only realize AFTER taehyun had her in his web, because i think that’s the sort of yandere taehyun is. plus, i think that MCs/readers in a lot of yandere fics slip into stupid territory when they just let batshit crazy stuff slip, so i wanted to keep that integrity for MC 🙂‍↕️

another song by charli that would capture the essence of like billy and readers party girl daughter would be spring breakers. lowk i think it’d be so interesting if like in alternative tl she js is in the rave scene. and like again she’s always in some sort of drama, even like public feuds with other singers etc. i think maybe after getting arrested for a dui for like the third time she’s sentence to house arrest and she ends up spending it at her parents residence (let’s say her current boyfriend made her move out their flat until she gets her shit together) and it’s just awks…

and like billy and reader try to use this to reconnect with her. i wonder if they’d be disappointed or upset? likely but also they were in her shoes at one point. she knows this and lashes out at them. i wonder if that would incite like guilt? shame? anger? shock? maybe all of them.

i think they would like try to be understanding of her situation, like you said they’ve been in that position before so they know that what she needs (even if she denies it) is a support system.

and as for calling billy a hypocrite, it would like spark an argument that’s would just blow up.

so like while reader and billy's daughter (we really need a name for her omg) is staying with them she like takes not at how loving they are towards each other and she's like lowkey jealous of them, like she's jealous that they have each other to lean on.

and like this is where the argument kinda comes from,

she goes downstairs to get like food or something (she skipped out on dinner cause she didn't want to eat with them earlier), billy and reader are on the couch like watching a movie or something and for some reason this just makes her like mad.

like all day she's been seeing them act so like lovey-dovey with each other, she's also been seeing how like "domestic" reader has been (quick explanation for this: reader is still making music and working, but most of her work keeps her at home so like to keep herself busy she just does chores, billy has told her like multiple times that she doesn't have to do all of that but she says she wants to and that she finds it therapeutic. billy still helps her like all the time when he's home though) and that also like kinda pisses her off.

like in her mind they're just playing house and pretending everything is okay, which is how the argument starts.

she says that they're just pretending everything is okay when it's not and she like says that THEY'RE the reason she's like this.

of course they're both taken aback cause like ???? billy like tries to calm her down and is like "we're just trying to help you"

but then she's like "that's funny coming from you" and then she says sm like "you’re the last person who should talk about helping anyone, dad. you were a train wreck, and now you’re acting like you’re better than me just because you cleaned up your act. you're such a fucking hypocrite. you act like you’re so wise now, like you’ve moved past it all, but you wouldn’t even have this perfect little life if mom hadn’t saved your ass back then."

and then reader tries to tell her to stop but then she says sm like "and you. you let him walk all over you, mom. he cheated, he lied, he nearly ruined everything, and you stayed. you just forgave him like it was nothing. and now you expect me to sit here and take advice from you two?"

and then reader says "you think you know what it was like for us back then? you have no idea. I stayed because I saw the man your father could be, the man he is. he fought every single day to be better for this family, for you. and how dare you stand there and act like that means nothing. your father has carried the weight of his mistakes for years, and he’s done everything to make up for them. so don’t you dare throw that in his face and say he’s some hypocrite for trying to save you from the same mistakes."

this shuts her up REALLY quick and then she runs off into her room again and locks the door.

Uh, heck yeah I would love to hear your ideas!!!

:D ok so there’s three different ideas:

1. The fic that I’m working on. It’s called “a Blessing from the Goddesses”, a title based off of a line from a love at twilight fic I posted here a while ago. Rusl and Uli are newly weds trying for a child, but it’s not working and they’re afraid that they’re infertile (they’re not), Rusl is teaching himself how to fight (think about Will Turner from pirates. He makes a sword and then practices with it) and Uli is waiting for him to get his nightly training done. Rusl gets creeped out by the forest but he’s an idiot so he checks it out, where he finds four-year-old Link hidden in Faron woods. He takes Link back and goes looking for his parents, who died in some monster attack. Rusl and Uli mostly raise Link while the other Ordonians look out for him. It’s very cute but the ending is getting me stuck, and idk if this’ll actually be Link’s official backstory cuz it doesn’t make sense with what I have now. I love the idea that Link gets adopted during the temple of time, so why did Rusl wait that long to adopt him if he’s been there since he was four? Rusl and Uli def would’ve considered him a son seeing how they were trying for a kid, and it just doesn’t fit. But I do love the idea.

2. Link actually shows up in Ordon a lot later. He could honestly be a foster kid, Rusl and Uli take care of him until he’s old enough to go out on his own, maybe still recovering from the loss of his parents. Idk how old he is, but in tp, it feels like he’s still relatively new to Ordon. The way Colin acts around him, the way Rusl is opening up his doors for him and offering to teach him more seriously. It feels like Rusl is going through the process of being with Link enough to adopt him, and Link, who longs for a parental relationship after losing his, is happily going along with it. Idk how old he would be, but maybe around a tween or early teens when he first shows up and is taken under Rusl’s wing. This might be the idea that I’ll go for since it seems to fit tp more accurately and I honestly find it really sweet. Something about teenagers getting adopted just makes me :’)

3. Now this was an idea I had a loooooong long time ago. It was honestly more of an au, but it was an idea that Tp Link was the son of oot Link and Malon. Lon Lon Ranch is vibing and Malon and oot link are vibing until a large battle comes by and oot link has to fight in it. In the end, he has to use the fierce deity mask in order to win, but he ends up dying in the end. Malon is pregnant with tp Link and she moved somewhere else to deal with the death of her husband. She goes to Ordon, gives birth, but ends up passing away from something. Idk how old Link is tho. Again, Rusl and Uli take him in since he just lost his family, and this could make sense seeing how it’d be weird to immediately adopt your friend’s kid, but as Link gets older, he leans on Rusl and Uli as they act more fatherly and motherly towards him. I mean, there’s always that one friend of your parents that’s like a second family to you. Idk, this one doesn’t make a lot of sense in the context of the two games put together, but idk, it’s cute. I loved the idea of Link finding Talon who’s an old man but a sweet little grandpa bfdkbdkddbk

So besides the incredibly vague title alone, this post is gonna explain something, a little bit different. As the sole creator of Daxton’s storyline, the underlaying basis of just, Daxton’s foundation in general, what I say, simply, GOES AND I THINK THAT’S INCREDIBLY FAIR RIGHT IM NOT CRAZY-

That being said, the characters that I’m gonna briefly mention here with my own summaries, they all have one thing in common: I didn’t make them.

My friends did, and the friends that did go out of their way to create something that I have been workshopping for such an incredibly long amount of time, it’s been in hiatus after hiatus as I got older, but when I met these people through this HELLSITE, they pushed me to keep going, and this is easily the longest and most effort that I have outputted into Daxton’s development, I mean I have names for locations AND EVEN THEN AT LIKE 13 AND STUFF, I DIDN’T EVEN HAVE LAST NAMES FOR SOME OF THESE CHARACTERS AND THE FACT ALONE THAT I AM ENVISIONING PLACES NOW, THAT MIGHT NOT SEEM LIKE A LOT BUT TO ME THAT’S MONUMENTAL

So the best way that I can even begin to repay these friends of mine, is, simply this: These characters, are, absolutely canon. They started out as OCs for my dumb little universe created by these wonderful people, and now as the creator and owner of Daxton, I’m making them canon.

Without further ado, It’d be my honor to introduce these one of kind creations.

The following two were created by my friend @alicethecoffeeaddict, Andromeda and Vergil, a pair of demonic siblings, Andromeda, a confident, no shit taking, proud of her sexuality succubus, and Vergil, a friendly, albeit introverted compared to his sister, incubus who works a side life as a nurse. This one, ohohohoh, this one, is a, PERSONAL, favorite of mine. Created by one of my absolute bestest buds in the entire world, @sutasaido, Heartbeat is the city’s most beloved entertained, donning a helmet with a heart shaped electronic screen visualizing a rhythmic heartbeat tempo on the front, he’s a talented musician that has not a single struggle in the world to put all of Daxton’s hands up, rest of the world must have missed his hype tho-GO YELL AT ELI TO GET MORE HEARTBEAT CONTENT

The second to the couple of last ones, sadly, I can’t tag on here because he doesn’t use Tumblr anymore, but if you scroll by and read this and wonder who this is, my buddy John aka MossyPebble, you’ve MOST DEF HAVE SEEN THAT NAME IF YOU’RE AROUND THESE PARTS, but he created probably one of the most INTRICATELY DESIGNED AND FUCKIN BADASS CHARACTERS, the evangelical automaton created by man to protect them from every and all threats in the city, and even the world at such a scale, named Gehenna. However, reduced time shared along with humans thanks to ungrateful creators locking him away into the depths of their compounds poisoned his advanced thinking and labeled humans as their own greatest danger. Now, like I said, JOHN ISN’T ON HERE ANYMORE BUT I WILL SAY THAT IF HE DOES MAKE MORE ABOUT GEHENNA I WILL LET Y’ALL KNOW

Now, the very last ones, for now anyone, have been crafted by someone who is, easily, my greatest friend and my overall empowering form of inspiration with just how incredibly creative she is, it is, very easy, to label as most definitely my biggest supporter, @flowerthornsart, without her I don’t think some entire sections of Daxton to this day would have been getting coats of polish slathered on with how much she encourages me to keep going with this, so of course-

Mantis is the first hero I wanna talk about, plagued by floating remnants of her villainous and monstrous mother’s reigning terror, Mantis is determined to take that once ruined verbal imagery of someone so murderous and fraught with danger, and replace it with the shining, welcoming sight of a sweetened heart and comforting aura belonging to one who knows what it means to be a hero, that not allowing anyone to hinder your actions and the determination that backs up one’s selflessness, is all that it takes. And last but not least, Iris, an abandoned science project given form, the spunky and gremlin like slime cryptid lovingly lingers in Daxton’s Undercity, reclaiming once lost subway systems as her own housing, she’s later discovered by the band of heroes following Blade, and the crew gained yet another irreplaceable fragment to weld with the grander picture of it all. Hello invisible youtube audience >:) Welcome to the first edition of me yapping to myself about the media i’ve consumed over the past week. I thought it’d be fun to do a little report every week about what i’ve watched and read and all that and just yap about what i’ve been doing. I’ve had a decent monday, knees and feet hurt like hell but i’m doing alright. we went to the pet store earlier to get crickets for my leopard gecko and they had kittens from the shelter there. and one of them was so friendly and came running at me when they opened the door aND HE WAS SO SWEET AND PLAYFUL AND WAS SUCH A PRETTY TAN-ISH GRAY COLOR HE WAS JUST LIKE MY CAT WHEN I FIRST GOT HIM BUT I COULDNT TAKE THIS ONE HOME AND I AM STILL DEVASTATED AUGH. But anyways-

I rewatched a lot of anime this week because my little sister wanted to watch them, including my all time favorite anime Kekkai Sensen. I could sit here and yap about how much i fucking love Kekkai Sensen but the amount of text i’ve already written is straining my eyes so it’ll try to keep it brief. I FUCKING LOVE THIS ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found it scrolling through hulu when i was about 12 trying to find something to watch since my mom had only recently let me start watching anime, i thought it looked neat and was absolutely hooked by the first episode. It was so funny watching the same thing happen to my sister, up until that point she had only really watched kids and magical girl anime, she used to watch one punch man and death note when she was little, but she preferred magical girls like cardcaptor sakura. when we finished the last episode, the was silent for a second then she slowly turned to me and yelled “THAT WAS THE GREATEST FUCKING ANIME EVER”. That day she figured out why i had been so fuckin stupid about this anime for almost 6 years now. I fuckin love this anime. P.s. Klaus is my wife 🤭

My sister also DEMANDED i rewatch Scott Pilgrim Takes Off with her and oh my god i think i regret it. Now she wants to be EXACTLY like Ramona Flowers to the point where she finally wants to cut her hair after refusing to cut it for almost 12 years. Personally, I really enjoyed the anime a lot (if it wasn’t obvious 💀) though i wanna watch the movie soon. Also she won’t stop fucking sending me this stupid ass photo of Gideon Graves

Last thing i watched with my sister was Mob Psycho 100. I had started it by myself a while ago but told her we could watch it together, so we watched the first two episodes last night. I wasn’t really paying attention both times i’ve watched it, but i really like it so far, def a lotta jokes that caught me off and made me laugh. Not really much else to say, I love Mob though.

I’ve been watching My Deer Friend Nokotan since it started airing. I’m not someone that keeps tabs about what’s airing during what season and watches everything that’s currently airing, i usually just wait til it’s finished and then completely forget about it. if anything, this is this first anime i’ve watched that i’ve been watching as it’s released. It’s already half way through and my opinions so far: it’s goofy as hell. in a good way. the jokes are all so stupid but tbh i love it. some episodes aren’t as good as others, but i thought the last one (the 7th) was pretty good. idk why but the thought of Japan’s Next Top Deer Model made me laugh, kind upset i didn’t get to see Nokotan actually at the deer show 😔 also now whenever some goes wrong that one song that plays in every episode when something bad happens, that “shikaaa shikaaaaa shikaaaaaaaa” song, plays in my head. My only real gripe with the show so far is that the relationship Anko has with her sister Koshi is WEIRD AS FUCK. Like???? That’s one of the things i hate about anime and manga is why there is so much borderline incest in them??? eugh. On a more positive note, Nokotan is very silly and i love her. I bet Nara Deer Park in Japan has seen an increase in visitors lmao.

Second brand new anime i’ve started watching is Delico’s Nursery. I’m already an episode behind but oh well, i’ll probably watch that later. It’s pretty promising so far, the art style is very pretty and the opening goes hard. I know nothing about the stage play it’s supposed to be a prequel(? i think?) to, but if i’m being completely honest the pretty vampire men already have me ensnared lmao. Idk how to describe it, but you know that trope where the older, more serious guy comes across a traumatized kid and he essentially adopts them and is all like soft only towards them? There’s probably a better way to describe that trope but i am a sucker for it. This anime looks to be pretty much that trope except they are their biological children instead. Although one small issue i have is I think (i’m not 100% sure i didn’t quite grasp the plot yet) they are looking for this “true of vamp” guy but they shorten it to TRUMP and i cannot take it seriously every time they say something like “we gotta find Trump!” 😭 A BIG issue i take, however, is that the children are ALWAYS SCREAMING, LIKE MAKE THEM STOP. I hope to god the screaming and crying chills the fuck out in the next episodes but other than that it’s still wayyy to early in the series to cast any kind of serious judgement but i really like it so far just from the first episode.

I’m not really sure what I’m gonna watch next but I’ve got a few anime I’ve started that I should probably finish, like Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and Serial Experiments Lain. Tbh I’m having a hard time finishing Serial Experiments Lain. Like, I do like it, I find it very aesthetically interesting, but story wise I don’t get it. I know you’re not supposed to get it, but I feel like there’s things that I am supposed to get that I don’t. Imo I feel like there’s too much going on but also not much at all. I can’t keep up with the amount of ideas being introduced at once that are discussed for a few minutes and then they don’t come back up until 2 episodes later, and by then I don’t remember what it is. Despite that, it’s also very slow, my little peanut adhd brain is struggling. I could be watching the episodes far too spaced out from each other since im kinda wanting to not watch it anymore, idk I might restart it and try binging it so I won’t forget as much. I really wanna like it, cuz Lain is literally me, I love her sm.

Also the reason why I still haven’t finished cowboy bebop and trigun is cuz my sister won’t let me watch them without her and she’s gone every other weekend at our dad’s house, which is usually when I wanna watch them 😔

I’ll probably wind up watching Ponyo soon. I’ve been meaning to watch the whimsical fish movie. that is all.

I think the next series I’ll watch is FLCL since it’s short. There’s nothing else coming out soon (except one i’ll mention later lmao) that interests me so it’s back to watching the backlog of 90’s/2000’s anime .

Spoilers for Goodnight Punpun (and by extension Blood On The Tracks) -

Ok, so i have started reading goodnight punpun a little over a week ago and oh my god. I’m currently half way through volume 4 and i really like it so far, but holy shit why can’t this family have a funky good time. you literally cannot have a character you like just even a little bit because then they go out and set a pet shelter on fire or something. I’m honestly so glad Punpun’s mom died but the poor boy is NOT gonna make it out there by himself 😭 and i’m conflicted about his dad because like? i dunno if he really is just an abusive piece of shit, or if he was just trying to protect his son from his batshit insane wife. ok it’s definitely both, but still, he probably genuinely cares about Punpun more, but it’s still such a conflicting situation because he seems really mentally absent. and i’d wish his uncle would just get hit by a train already, I wanted to like him but holy shit dude, whatever therapist you’re seeing they’re not doing a good enough job. i know what i’m about to say is gonna offend a bunch of people, but i’m sorry, Aiko is shady as fuck. Since i’m only half way through she might get better, but she seems like she’ll only continue to make life worse for Punpun, and he’d probably make hers worse too. I do have more sympathy for her though, don’t get me wrong, since she grew up in a cult and clearly has trauma, I don’t hate her, but Aiko and Punpun are only gonna fuck each other up. I do really like how Punpun changes appearance depending on how he views himself, though i have yet to figure out how to translates into a floating triangle. So far i’m enjoying the story, as fucked up as it is, it’s a pretty grim yet realistic look at how abuse, neglect, and trauma affects a kid’s development and the mindset they have as they grow up. a lot of the plot points remind me of Blood On The Tracks, another coming of age manga about a boy who grew up with a possessive, manipulative, and mentally + emotionally abusive mother. The way Punpun and Seiichi from Blood On The Tracks grow up with the effects of their trauma are very similar, as well as how every character is a horrible person, but they are also very nuanced. Anyways I’ll probably have this finished by next monday and i will provide my thoughts then too 👍

Ok, so i came across this manhua just completely randomly and looked it up because the art on the cover looked nice and holy shit I am so glad i did. I was not expecting the absolutely GORGEOUS art in it. It is easily the prettiest eastern comic i’ve ever seen, the colors are beautiful and looks incredible with the painterly artsyle. The story its self is pretty simplistic in my opinion. The whole story is only a little over 100 pages long and was a pretty quick read. Spoilers from this point on if you want to read it: It’s about Orange, a teenage girl who is suicidal and is about to jump off the roof of a building til she notices this drunk older man, Dashu, hanging out on the roof and then decides not to jump off that day. The story then goes over Orange’s life, her sneaking out of the house, getting boyfriends who wind up being pieces of shit, getting into trouble, and running into Dashu again. She ends up falling in love with Dashu, but she also has complex thoughts with her feelings about him. On one hand she is in love and is fascinated with him, and on the other she’s disgusted by him. Imma leave the summary off here because if you wanna read this it’ll just ruin the ending. The story itself can be pretty upsetting since it deals with suicide, isolation, and a minor in love with an adult, but i think it does a pretty alright job telling it with the limited time it has. I would recommend it if you like stories that explore the grittier aspects of being an older teenager and the topic of feeling isolated from society and because the art is gorgeous.

Im gonna take a lil break from Goodnight Punpun (since i usually only read one manga at a time) to read Dandadan. The anime is coming out in October and i’m thinking about watching it so i’m gonna read the manga first. It sounds really neat, with it being about aliens, yokai, and cryptid-like creatures (and i’m a sucker for cryptids). That’s pretty much all, I’ll talk about it more next monday. Also, I wanna know what this panel is about 💀

Ever thought, “Cowboy Bebop is good but i really wish they were girls instead”? Probably not, but if you like pulp crime and western style action, I recommend Gunsmith Cats. It’s only 3 episodes long and can be easily watched in a day. It’s about two girls, Rally and May, who run an illegal gun shop and get blackmailed by an ATF agent to solve a gun running case for them. There’s plenty of high action scenes of gunfights, car chases, and explosions, and i found Rally and May to be very likable characters in my opinion. The only small issue is there is a bit of fan service if you don’t like that, but I don’t remember it being very obstructive like some other shows with fan service, a lot of it is subtle. Overall it was a very fun watch for me and i def recommend it if you like stuff like Cowboy Bebop or 90’s western style action.

Blood On The Tracks is a very good psychological manga, and i would recommend it to anybody who also likes Goodnight Punpun, but similar to Goodnight Punpun, you should read it in a good headspace. I’m fortunate enough to not have an abusive mother but it still really messed with me with how realistic the portrayal of mental and emotional abuse was. I already gave a brief explanation of what it’s about when I was talking about Goodnight Punpun, but i feel like explaining far too much will take away from the impact of where the manga ends up. Massive trigger warnings for death, mental, emotional, and physical abuse, gaslighting and manipulation, murder and attempted murder, sex scenes (i think), and so much childhood trauma if you decide to read it.

in my humble opinion, i’d say honkai star rail is easier. it’s turn-based combat, which to me gets boring and tedious after a while, but i don’t feel like it really requires you to memorize stats and strategies aside from which characters will work well together based on their abilities (ie some characters heal, some characters support, some characters are used to cause the most damage/brute strength, etc) since each only has like,,, three moves and all you have to do is press a button to get them to do that.

what does make it a little more complex are like, the relics, traces, and eidolons (aka artifacts, talents, and constellations in genshin). relics/artifacts are basically just items you can equip on your characters for extra buffs (more hp, more def, more damage etc etc i am not going to go into all of it because it is a LOT lmao. like there are ‘sets’ of relics/artifacts (4 items in total) and within those sets there are a ton of different versions of each of the four items,,, idk how else to explain it other than that HAHA). you find these items in a variety of different places, including what are essentially dungeons (called domains, usually). traces/talents are skill trees, more or less. and eidolons/constellations you will only be able to unlock if you pull multiple of the same character.

the other thing i can praise hsr on is it’s writing. the story hasn’t fully captured me yet (tho i think this is generally just a personal preference thing and not something that has to do with the writing itself) but the writing throughout the game so far (i only just finished the first planet) is tighter and more cohesive with more causality than genshin’s story, which flounders and becomes especially awful during inazuma, but gets much better during sumeru. also, genshin is an open world game whereas hsr is not, so the maps are much smaller and it’s easier to navigate around the areas.

i’ve never played breath of the wild, though i have heard many times that genshin was hugely inspired by it, so if you rly enjoyed that game then i think there’s a fair chance you’ll enjoy genshin as well! genshin’s combat is more fun to me, but it also requires more thought (people get REALLY into building their teams and their characters), because certain elements (there are seven: hydro, cryo, electro, dendro, pyro, anemo, geo) will interact in different ways with each other to deal more damage or create certain effects. each character has different skills and attacks, and you can fluidly switch between your party/team members during a fight.

genshin’s combat is real-time action based rpg type combat, and each character has a specific weapon they can use (there are five types of weapons but a huge variety of weapons within each category, so figuring out which weapon works best with which character (for example, which bow works best with childe aside from his signature weapon, which you can only get from the gacha system) is important). both have enemies that are weak to specific things, though i feel like hsr tells you much easier what those things are than genshin does lmao.

hsr does not have weapons, but they do have these things called light cones, which basically act as a buff for the weapon + base stats each character comes with.

honestly, both games have a ton of content + daily/weekly missions and dungeons, so both are overwhelming when you start, but if you want something a little easier, hsr is probably the way to go! you also obv have to level up and ascend your characters + weapons/light cones, but the games will tell you where you can find the ascension materials if you just click on the item itself.
