despite being two tonally different events lmao, both the current event and the previous one shared heavy plot similarities, one of which was rei using his contacts to be a source of information for rosho over some criminal activity that was impacting one of his student’s life, and kuukou fulfilling that same role for juto in their event

and it’s like, kuukou having some reach and control over nagoya’s streets/underworld is something we’ve seen before and don’t really question since he’s a delinquent himself, but to frame it as a rei parallel?????? is kinda crazy lol?????

#this is vee speaking #the arb chronicles #like in fool’s gold kuukou and hitoya both sought to find answers over the attack on shakku and kuukou took to the streets #where kuukou found just the delinquent he was looking for and got his part of the info dump just as fast as hitoya did iirc #like kuukou knows his streets lo!!!!!!!!! and the streets fear him!!!!!!#hypdream also has kuukou hunting down some delinquents to help protect this old lady’s karaage shop and he tracked them down #by going hopping between every gang meet up spot until he found them lol #rei plays 3d chess with the underground world (eg his very first dedicated chapter in the dhbat manga and acquired mic development stuff)#but there’s layers of supreme control over his reach in the underworld like you can’t be outplayed if you see all kinda beat #so to have kuukou’s knowledge be framed like rei’s makes think some of kuukou’s continued delinquency is oversight #hhhhhhhhhhhhh this kinda makes me want to look at shakku and kuukou’s argument in fool’s gold again but in this lens instead lol
