i had talked abt this on my twt a few weeks back but lately ive rly been thinking abt the potential to read ennis as aromantic and like. yeah idk i just think its a really intriguing reading into the character

like i personally see both ennis and jack as homosexual for a variety of reasons, mostly bc a. that was the frame of reference that annie proulx was writing under when she had the idea for brokeback mountain (i.e. what would life be like for a ranch hand who was gay?) and b. the book that was given to both heath and jake to prepare for their roles was a compilation of memoirs written by real gay midwestern farmers

BUT. all that aside, i think that an aspec/arospec reading of ennis' character is one of the interesting ways in which we can use the visibility of previously "lesser known" queer identities to analyze this story under a modern lens

cause like, ive mentioned this before but i kinda went insane for awhile and so for the first half of this year i went deep in on brokeback mountain. like, i read every article and listened to every movie podcast about this story that i could get my hands on, and a common debate surrounding the story (so much so that theres a whole section on its wikipedia page dedicated to it) is the debate around whether jack and ennis are gay men or bisexual men

and like...sure, okay, theres definitely valid readings in both of them. I just think that, since our understandings of romantic and sexual attraction and our vocabulary to describe these different experiences has expanded in the 17 years since the movie's release and the 25 years since the short story's initial publishing, we can take a look at these charas under new lenses with which to analyze them with

i think you can make a very valid argument that ennis is a gray-area aromantic who falls in love with the one person in his life who hes able to open up, relate to, and create a super close bond with, especially if you consider ennis' extreme loneliness throughout his entire life. it only really hit me the other day, when i was rly thinking deep about this, how hard it must have been for someone in his circumstances to meet people and make friends around his age, considering the fact that he dropped out of high school as a freshman in order to work to support him and his siblings after his parents died.

couple that w this sort of stoic, distant personality type that the hard, rough, small town american west sort of breeds into men from a young age, and like. i dunno, it makes perfect sense to me that an aromantic ennis would fall in love with the one person who hes forced to spend an extended amount of time with, who he later finds out has also grown up a poor, drop-out ranch hand with a hard home life. especially since jack also made an early effort to get to know ennis, i just think it was all the prime circumstances for him to end up falling in love.

i also think it tracks w both heath and jake's mentality when approaching these characters? cause in interviews they gave at the time, they both kinda maintained this belief that ennis anc jack were both "straight" men who just so happened to fall in love w another man

and like. setting aside the fact that that was a VERY 2005 thing to say, lol, i think the idea of someone like ennis by chance falling in love w a man still tracks if you read him as arospec. like it still comes w all the trials and tribulations of him being invested in this homosexual love affair, as well as all the internal tension he must be feeling (i.e. why am i in love with him? shouldnt i be feeling this way about Alma? what is wrong with me?). like thats very much a universal queer struggle that you can read into his character regardless of what sexual orientation you see him as

anyways tl;dr the conversations around the sexuality of the characters in brokeback mountain is rly fascinating and i think that we can look back with our expanded knowledge of sexuality and see these characters in a lot of interesting ways

recently I've been thinking about how like, it's pretty hard to describe my sexual orientation and gender

gender wise I either feel neutral or masculine, so I feel like demiboy fits, but im also afab so i identify with being transmasc too

in terms of attraction, i have a LOT of platonic love for my friends, i love them so much. platonic love comes as naturally as breathing to me, i want to bond and know all of my friends deeply, i want to form strong attachments and feel really close to people even though its really hard to do that sometimes. but, that platonic love rarely ever becomes romantic love. doesn't matter how much I know someone, romantic feelings just don't happen often for me. sexual feelings are even rarer, AND i have to know someone really well first before sexual feelings can even happen. developing a romantic attraction also doesn't guarantee a sexual attraction will develop, it just has to happen first for there to even be a chance it will. its like a chance game on neopets, you have to win the first 1/1,000,000 chance roll for romance to even have a shot at the second 1/1,000,000 chance roll for sex lmao.

when romantic and sexual feelings for someone do happen though, gender isn't a determining factor. my love for every person ive ever loved has felt different but not because of their gender(s). so that means: demiromantic, demisexual, and pansexual

but how do you tell someone - especially irl - you're transmasc, demiboy, demiromantic, demisexual and pansexual, i mean that's so many words and im already really bad at talking to people, its easier to just say im queer, but im also really careful not to apply that label to other people unless i know they're ok with it, especially since i live in the south us

(and dont get me started on trying to explain and be included in conversations about experiencing life as a woman, since i didn't transition until i was in my mid 20s, so being seen and treated as a woman has been most of my life. like, i want to talk about how its been for me as a fem person whose entire career has been in tech and how that has affected me and affects fem people in such negative ways, but if it were up to me i wouldn't even be perceived as a fem person. but, i still am because i don't pass and can't come out at work, so that's still my experience interacting with everyone who doesn't know me personally outside work. i usually try to speak up in conversations about this anyway even though sometimes i don't feel welcome being part of the conversation bc of how i identify now.)

idk. it makes me feel really, really lucky that im married and my spouse and I have such a close and loving relationship and they understand me so intimately. i almost lost them to cancer a few years ago. i don't like to think about this at all, but i know 100% that if i lost them i would just be alone for the rest of my life.

There are billions more "poc" in the world than there are of powhite. So assuming what anon really meant was "a lot of WHITE people just aren't attracted to poc" then, I mean, yeah - statistically every ethnicity prefers to date within their race. Whiteness is seen as an exotic attraction in most parts of the world, for either sex of all sexual orientations. And of course it's also seen as "leveling up" bc of the global power imbalance (although this isn't necessarily an accurate view). Most people in my life think I'm "out there" for having dated white before, bec they never would've chosen to. My current partner admitted to me years ago that they never found white people (women, in this case) attractive. Many of my straight friends would never date a white man, and my lesbian friends tend to prefer dating either within or closely around their own ethnicities. Sorry to burst you white western bubble, anon, but most people "wouldn't date white" based on stats alone.

Oh and women are not male, btw, in reference to your clumsy little "just like no interest in trans women teehee" moment. Non-white women are female and often deeply feminine, die mad about it.

hmm it might be a very different case where you're from, but what youve said honestly does not apply to my experience. im from asia (middle east speciically) & ive learned very early on that the beauty standards are basically... being white. u could be the ugliest white person and youd be deemed hot purely bc ur european. theyre beauty standards instilled from colonisation & white supremacy but it basically exists in nearly all, if not all, of asia. colourism is a major issue and racism against ourselves persists-- so white people are highly preferred where im from and in the countries near me and countries in east asia as well like where my gf is from. sure, white is in a way considered 'exotic', except not Really bc we have enough western media and our celebs that are deemed most beautiful tend to be the most white-passing people of us so i dont think exotic is the go-to word people would use about white people where im from, at least.

but sure, yes, anon is right that a lot of people aren't attracted to us. not bc its super innate to only find white ppl attractive and/or we're just less attractive inherently or something. its because of white beauty standards having been spread to a lot of the world and whiteness being equated with beauty. white people hold these standards themselves very often-- hence why i say strictly finding other white people attractive often is rooted in racism for white people. its not a preference that appeared out of thin air, its a part of larger social messaging.

that said, its really the least of our problems who white people are attracted to when white people are still mistreating us in actually significant ways. focusing on those kinds of things is like, idk, focusing on the word 'woman' having man in it when women are facing femicide. like, okay sure thats not good and points to a larger issue but maybe we should start by fighting the larger issue, yknow?

I was confidently lesbian for three years. I finally had accepted myself. Life was looking up. Then i met my bestie. Then i met this stupid dude whose stupid phermones had an effect on me. Ive never been struck by anyones existence before. I thought i was a demisexual lesbian. Now i have to deal with being attracted to a man. My bestie was sooooo supportive of me having to figure it out. She wouldnt let me bully myself about it. I was 23 at the time. Im 26 now. Still figuring out if I like men. Women? Unapologeticly attracted. Confidently. Undeniably. Men? Idk. Im open to it ever since pheromone man stole my sexuality. I had a girlfriend for a couple months recently and things did not work out. Just two very different perspectives on life.

This very gorgeous for a dude internet friend asked me out to dinner after he heard i was single again. Dude shot his shot and went for it. I had dinner with him. He walked in behind me at the restaurant where we met up and low and behold. The pheromone thing happened again. It was a good date. He was super sweet and the chat over dinner was just like how wed been talking over the phone. He was nervous which was a first for me because guys usually get straight to it but this dude was actually into me. Like not just physically. Like the whole me as a person. Usually i only get that with women ive dated. Were gonna go on another date soon. Weve been texting even more since date#1.

But, i cant talk to my bestie about him. If i mention him, she gets dismissive, leaves the room like i didnt start talking with her, or just gives me silent treatment for the rest of the day through the next morning. Ive been able to talk to her about dates or my relationships before. For some reason, this particular person, is upsetting for her to talk about. She doesnt know him as far as i know. He doesnt know her. So its not like ive went on a date with her ex er something. Im just sad because i want to be excited about this person because things are going well. I dont have other friends that im close enough with that i can be like "look what he said" or "im so excited to see him " or "what should i wear for this date" or any of the normal things you normally get to include your best friend on when you start seeing someone.

I don't know what happened to make her feel like ive slapped who she is if i say or do anything that involves this guy. So here i am on tumblr bc she doesnt have one. Idk where else to talk about this. I want to be excited. I want to be hyped up before i go out. Dating a man is something i havent done in years. 6 years in fact. So let’s break this apart a bit.

First of all a lot of people have trouble distinguishing what is romance or not, or romantic attraction or not. And it’s really hard to define and explain, even by people who know they’re experiencing it. And for some people the lines are blurred or they genuinely can’t tell at all. So it’s hard in general, even without trauma making it difficult. 

If you’re interested, the faq for this blog goes into some detail about distinguishing romantic/platonic/alterous attraction. So that may be helpful for you. But honestly my biggest advice is to just check out aro forums/blogs/media etc and seeing if it’s relatable and taking your time, sometimes it needs to time to marinate before you can really tell you’re not experiencing an attraction, and don’t put too much pressure on yourself.

For the trauma, it can be really hard to separate out what’s trauma and what’s just how you’d have been anyways. And honestly, you don’t actually have to and that may be helpful. One way I like to look at it is if you match an experience or find a label useful, does it matter if there’s a cause? Also there’s always a cause, just is it the trauma specifically or some unique interaction of genes and other experiences that lead you to be this way? And the other thing if trauma is a factor could things change down the road? And the answer is maybe. But maybe someone else has a fluid orientation and it changes for them later too, it doesn’t make it less valid in the moment. 

So yeah maybe the reason you think you could be aro and you’re having trouble connecting to romantic feelings/attraction is trauma. But it doesn’t mean if you think aro woud be a useful label for you that you can’t use it. And it doesn’t mean you can’t keep healing and exploring either, but it’s up to you to decide what feels right. 

Remember that there is a different between feeling broken and being broken. And a lot of people when they’re first realising they could be aro feel broken, and it’s something a lot of people go through. It’s OK to have those feelings early on, but try and remember they’re feelings, and that doesn’t make them fact. Also one thing a lot of people have found have helped with those feelings is connecting to other aros and the aro community, and seeing aros who are cool people or happy or good with their identity can help a lot to feel less broken, and even if you decide you’re not aro in the end this can still be helpful and help take the pressure off when figuring out your label. That you can find happiness either way.

I can’t tell you how you should handle the situation with your qpp, except to say don’t be afraid to take the path that feels right for you. We live in a culture that really teaches a one way to happiness and to dealing with these situations, but there isn’t actually a wrong choice here, if you should try a romantic relationship or not. And honestly there’s risks either way, so it’s best to let your own feelings guide you. Sometimes we may make the wrong choice out of fear as well (and either choice could be that), but if that happens the important thing is you learn and you’re more ready next time a similar situation comes up. 

Should you get help from a professional? You absolutely can, and some people do find that helpful. Make sure you find a therapist who is open minded about aromanticism and aro identities and won’t push you towards allonormativity. And remember you can switch therapists or fire a therapist at any time if they’re doing that. Identity is really complicated and personal too though, so I wouldn’t say it’s necessary, but they may be able to help you navigate the trauma side of it better. But it’s up to you what path you think is best for you.

This is a lot of text, but to sum up, take your time and explore, and slowly things should start to make more sense, but don’t rush it. And try not to panic or be afraid of whatever identity ends up feeling right for you in the end.

Until your blog I had never heard of aplatonic. & now I have a question if thats ok? I grew up thinking I was weird, maybe bi with boundary issues. Ive been told by others that I'm pan. But Idk. Basically, I dont like people. They annoy me & stress me out & stuff. But if I like you, I fall hard & fast in every way. Looks, gender, etc dont matter. I love in a weird sort of almost family not quite sexual way. Like id have sex, but not looking for it. Is that kind of aplatonic?

I wanted to clarify my other ask. I'm married. I knew I was in love with my husband pretty quick. Most of the time I can't stand talking to people & he makes me happy in a way no-one else can. I love sex with him. But if he never wanted it again I'd survive. The problem comes where, if I'm not in a committed relationship, I love my few friends so much I'm fine being there physially for my friends if they need it. This is why I choose my friends carefully. Like, 3 people in the entire world.

Aplatonic means you have difficulty/struggle to/inability to form platonic relationships with others. This can manifest in different ways. It could be something as ‘passive’ as a disinterest or it could be something like an exhaustion. It could be an interplay of many different manifestations. For example, I don’t have much interest in forming platonic relationships and when faced with the fact of it maybe happening or someone trying to bond with me, it settles into me as a deep exhaustion and fatigue.

I can’t tell you if you’re aplatonic or not because identity is not a test or diagnosis. I can tell you that I relate to your experiences of finding people stressful and not having very many people I’m close to (though having few people was true before I was aplatonic, as well). The best question to explore yourself to determine if you’re aplatonic is: do I want to identify as aplatonic? Does it help me to identify as aplatonic? Does aplatonic give me some sense of belonging or being understood? If yes to any of those, that’s a good sign you’re aplatonic!

It sounds like part of your confusion over if you can identify as aplatonic or not comes down to the fact that you possibly experience other forms of attraction (like sexual, sensual, and/or queerplatonic, maybe?). Aplatonicism is only about how you form bonds platonically. You can have whatever other identities and still be aplatonic! You do not have to be aro/ace/nonamorous to be aplatonic. You just have to find aplatonic a useful way to describe how you feel.

that’s totally okay!!! it’s definitely been a journey and had its ups and downs.

so all through high school i was like. aware of my attraction to girls???? but i didn’t really think anything of it. like of course i thought girls were hot have you seen girls???? they’re so hot!!!! and i kinda thought that admiration was just like. damn. wish i looked like her. i’m appreciating her aesthetically. this isn’t gay at all.

but (plot twist) it was gay!!!! and i kinda realized as i became more attracted to girls in university and. this sounds dumb. but zendaya???? i simultaneously want to be her, be her best friend, and be her girlfriend. and if you search through the bi tag on my blog you can kinda see my journey in like. discovering and giving it a label???? because for the longest time i was like idk what i am but it’s definitely not straight but i don’t wanna label it. and then one night last fall (it’s almost my one year guys omg) i just was like. no. fuck it. i want a label. i wanna figure this out.

so i did some googling and read a bunch of resources and there was one quote by robyn ochs i found that resonated with me: “I call myself bisexual because I acknowledge that I have in myself the potential to be attracted – romantically and/or sexually – to people of more than one sex and/or gender, not necessarily at the same time, not necessarily in the same way, and not necessarily to the same degree.”

because here’s the big misconception about bisexuality!!!! you don’t have to like both genders 50/50. you can have a preference or like them in different ways, and that’s what stopped me from saying i was bi before. because i was thinking “yeah girls are hot but i think i’m more attracted to guys so that’s that” which just isn’t true!!!!

and then after realizing that, i actually faced a lot of internalized biphobia, which was strange, because literally all of my high school friends were Not Straight but also part of the problem i think???? because one of my ex close friends who really ended up hurting me is bi and so i associated negative feelings with it because i associated it with her. and then i had anxieties that i didn’t like girls enough for it to count.

but here’s the thing!!!!! you just gotta ask yourself: what’s enough? remember that quote. you don’t have to like all the genders (because there are more than two) in all the same way. it can be different each time, and it’s still valid.

and then there was my messy coming out that includes the met gala, zendaya, a viral text post, teen vogue, and a power point, but that’s an entirely different story.

Your breath hitched at the sensation that you felt for the first time. The faint hum of the device rang loudly in your ears causing your senses to heighten and your cheeks turned a dark red in color at the realization of what you were doing. Of course it was fine since you were home alone and it was a normal thing for people around your age but you still couldn’t shake the feeling of embarrassment from you. Your eyes remained shut while the heat in your body increased slowly, so slow to the point that you were considering stopping for the night and returning to your normal routine. Everyone around you made it their goal to make fun of you constantly for being a prude. Even though you were far from it everyone around you insisted on thinking otherwise. You had sexual desires just like the students around you. You had thoughts about people around you that you’d be mortified of saying out loud, you were put into moods at inconvenient times just like the others. The only difference was that you were too overwhelmed with things that you had to focus on to be bothered by it.

“Oh my god.” the moan left your lips and your body slightly contorted as the wave of pleasure washed through you.  The thought of being embarrassed by the sounds that left your lips didn’t even occur to you since you were finally close to finishing. Finally after spending 30 precious minutes of your precious time that you certainly did not have you were getting the results that you wanted.

Just as you felt the desire to climax your phone began to ring, breaking your focus. Your eyes opened in frustration and you paused the vibrator before leaning over and answering the jackass the interrupted you.

“You know this really isn’t a good time so I hope whatever it is, is important.”

“Look I know you’re busy studying like you always do but I really need your help. This time it’s actually something important.” A familiar feminine voice pleaded on the other end and holy shit did you know that phrase all too well.

It was your acquaintance  friend troian most likely asking you to cover up for her again. She was under the impression that the two of you were best friends, maybe because you entertained her all the time but on your end she was quite bothersome but you were too nice to say anything about it.

“If you want me to tell one of your boyfriends that you moved i won't i'm not in the mood for it.” Your eagerness to climax instantly washed away just like that, and the longer you were on the phone the less you felt like continuing where you left off.

“Just hear me out okay?  i’m not asking for that but it’s kind of similar…” You tuned her out for a moment as you sat up and pulled up your underwear, holding the phone in between your ear and your shoulder. Conveniently there was a glass of water on the night stand- most likely from that morning. You took a sip from it, drifting away to your own world before her voice rang in your ears louder than before catching you off guard.

“Hmm?” you hummed questioningly. There was an annoyed sigh on the other end of the phone which was uncommon for you to hear from her. She wasn’t necessarily the type to get annoyed by anything you did since she was generally fond of you.

“Did you really not hear a thing I said?”

“No” you paused. “Sorry.”

“Can you please go on a blind date as me?” She asked again, slowing down her speech and emphasizing each word to ensure that you would hear her fully this time. Regardless you still weren’t quite sure if you heard her correctly. Blind date? The idea of a blind date ran through your brain like a short film and you pictured an old man in his 60’s trying to sell you out or something and you instantly were turned off at the idea. “Please, Y/N?”

“Huh? Oh uh yeah.” You said without meaning to. Once the words that left your mouth met up with your comprehension you wanted to slap yourself for being dumb and getting yourself in that position.

“Really? You’ll do it?” She started to make that voice she made when she was ready to end a conversation and you knew that there was no turning back on your unintentional offer this time.

“N-No I meant-”

“It’s settled! Tonight at 10 you’re going to go to the Soulful Cup. You know where that is right?” She asked into the phone. Your throat began to dry up and you nodded to yourself in response, forgetting that she couldn’t see you.

“Uh yeah I know where that is. What should I wear?”

“You can just come over to my place if you’d like I could give you something nice to wear and tell you what to and not to do okay?” You heard a door shut in the background and the faint sound of a male’s voice on the other line. “ I’ve got to go i’ll see you soon, bye.”

You placed the phone down after checking the phone once she hung up on you. 8:47pm. You had about an hour to get ready and get to the coffee shop on time, and depending on how long the “date” would last you would potentially be missing out on any studying time. This is what you deserved though it’s natural, you could have just not answered the phone and your day would have gone according to plans but that’s not what happened. An exaggerated groan left your lips as you stood up and walked to the bathroom to evaluate yourself. Your makeup was still in tact surprisingly, and your hair was slightly tangled but it wasn’t anything that Troi couldn’t deal with on her own.

After checking up on yourself you decided that it was time to get going, grabbing your phone that was at 50% and your collection of keys you headed out the door and  made your way to her house. Thankfully she lived about 15 minutes away by foot so you were fine just walking to her place instead of driving. The last time you’d been a date was about five years ago when you were sixteen and since then it just never crossed your mind. You wondered to yourself if you’d even be fit for this “date”, was it even a real date? What would you say? What if they really were attractive? What if they were someone you knew? What if someone saw you and misunderstood? The thoughts clouded your mind while you continued to walk alone in the dark and it wasn’t until you arrived to your friend’s place that you  came back to reality.  After giving the door a few gentle knocks there was shuffling on the other end, followed by the sound of a laugh that wasn’t Troi’s. The door opened, revealing her in a robe and she quickly rushed you in, closing the door behind you.

The apartment had the same familiar smell of overused fragrances and candles and the bright colors of her couches stood out to you the same as they always did. The only thing that was off about the setting was the pairs of shoes that were next to hers. While thinking about this you slipped off your shoes and invited yourself into the living room, taking a seat on one of the blinding couches.

“Sorry this place is a bit messy, when I called you Taeyong was at the door so things got misplaced a little.” Troian piped up from the side  while your eyes continued to scan the area,  taking in your surroundings.

“He’s still here i’m guessing?” You raised an eyebrow and looked at her and the her face reddened slightly as she gave a nod in response.

“He is...he’s in the room, we were hanging out I forgot that you were still coming over…”she drifted off and read the unamused expression on your face. “But he could be another set of eyes to determine whether what you’re wearing is good or not for the date!” She always had quite the optimistic view which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, it just wasn’t quite your taste.  She walked halfway through her short hallway towards her bedroom and called out to one of her boy toys that was in her room, telling him to get out because you were there.

“It’s fine, I can really just go like this...I don’t mind.” You began, hoping that you weren’t becoming a burden even though it was the other that should have felt like she was becoming a burden.

She ignored your words and walked back over to you, muttering something about talking nonsense as she grabbed your wrists and led you to her room.  The man who you were assuming to be Taeyong was  eating from a bag of chips whilst continuing to watch tv as if he hadn’t heard anything which clearly got on Troi’s nerves.

“Look I get it you had a long day cry me a fucking river but you need to stop getting your crumbs and shit on my bed unless you’re going to be the one to clean it up.” She began while opening her closet door. Her efforts to get him to stop were useless though, he just continued on as if she didn’t say anything at all. You were debating on whether or not you even saw him flinch at the sound of her voice, but apparently you weren’t the only one that noticed this because the sound of the hangers moving got slightly louder. “It’s not like you’re the only person that sleeps on this bed so for the others sake you should at least make a team effort, yes?”

This caused him to raise his eyebrows finally and turn to face her. Instead of having a scowl on his face though, he flashed a bright smile and tilted his head to the side, almost as if he knew an inside joke that everyone else in the room didn’t pick up on.

“Don’t flatter yourself, I have lots of money so if I were you I wouldn’t put myself on such a high horse and think that i’m the only girl he’s fucking. I already know what this is, Troi.” He curled up the bag of chips and placed them on the nightstand beside him before getting up and beating down on the blanket to get rid of any crumbs that he got on there. “Anyways honey, what are you picking up for your little friend here?” He sat back down and continued to smile  as he spoke.

“Oh you’re so full of shit Taeyong, but if you must know, I was thinking of putting her in something simple but sexy.” She paused, looking your figure over once more before diving back into the closet. “What about a simple dress? I have a silk dress that I barely use you could wear that, and it’s black so it should compliment you.”

Your lips pursed at the sight of it. You were having difficulty deciding whether or not you liked the dress at all but it wouldn’t hurt to put it on anyways. After grabbing it you excused yourself to the bathroom and slipped it on. You saw your figure in the mirror and for once you felt decently confident in the way you looked. Yes, Troi could be annoying but she knew how to make sure you looked good no matter the occasion.

“Did you die in there?” Her voice rang through the closed door. You jumped slightly at the unexpectedness of her voice but soon walked to the door, opening it before flashing a large smile at her. “Well i’ll be damned…”She eyed you up and down and nodded to herself in approval.

“I love it.” You stated only making her nods quicken.

“You can keep it. That dress was made for you. Now go, it’s 9:45” She said. Your eyes bulged open as you looked at the clock in the bathroom, realizing that it was in fact 9:45 and you were about to be late for the date. You silently prayed to yourself that whoever was there would be kind enough to wait for a little while and not get too angry in the process.

You rushed out of the house, putting on some heels that she also handed to you while saying goodbye quickly, leaving the bickering pair to themselves. You didn’t even bother to put on your heels as you ran out the house, trying to bolt to the cafe on good time. After about 5 minutes of running you stopped to catch your breath, heels in one hand you felt around to grab your phone but there was one issue. It wasn’t there. Cursing under your breath you put the heels on your feet and played with your hair, hoping that when you arrived you wouldn’t look like too much of a mess. Out of the crowd of people you were able to see a large cup sign in the distance signalling that you were almost there. You walked as fast as you could to the shop before finally arriving, letting out a large sigh you looked around the oddly packed cafe in search for this guy.

While looking around you noticed a guy around your age with dark brown hair looking around like you were and a part of you thought that maybe, maybe that was him and you’d actually have someone decent. The both of your eyes locked and you smiled simultaneously, and you knew that it was him. You made your way over to him and you smiled at him until you heard him speak.

“You’re Troian, right? Hi I’m Johnny.”
