you know what i find hilarious about bruce being the youngest JLA member? bc it implies things like this: if bruce is simultaneously the youngest member but also the longest-operating vigilante, he had to have started his training, like, ridiculously young

so i’m just imagining ra’s al ghul having to deal with this vv Serious 13-year old who is quiet and creepy and sneaks up behind him and plays small (but untraceable) pranks on him tHAT RA’S JUST KNOWS IS BRUCE but he has no proof. and he’s having to sit there with a straight face as this tiny little thing tries to wield a sword five times his body weight in a line of other Adult assassins who are holding theirs like it weighs nothing. ra’s having to keep a straight face when his best Shadows get taken down by a 14-year-old because they underestimated him and his mind for strategy. ra’s having to stick this kid in bed and get him food and make him Not Study because bruce has,,, no idea how to take care of himself.

and then finally, finally this kid LEAVES, right? but then fast-forward ten years aND NOW THERE ARE SO MANY ITTY BITTY CHILDREN. jason, cass, damian, tim-- and they all look just like bruce. so ra’s has to pretend not to jump when cass sneaks up behind him and reminds ra’s of bruce. he has to stick tim in bed and get him food and make him Not Study because tim CAN’T TAKE CARE OF HIMSELF. he has to keep a straight face as his men are taken down by literal children. he calls them all bruce by accident. it is getting to be a Problem.

Day 29: Favorite Pride Memory

My favorite Pride memory comes from a few years ago, back when I was younger. I'd had crushes on girls, and at that point in time, I hadn't heard anything about being gay or lesbian or not-straight. I'd thought something was wrong with me. My parents were (and remain to be) incredibly homophobic. But-- and they saved my life-- I found friends who were nonbinary and bisexual respectively. They helped me figure out who I was and what I wanted, and that it was okay to not like guys or want to use she/her pronouns all the time.

One day, when I was around fifteen, they helped me sneak out of my house and attend the local Pride. I was terrified that word of my being there would get back to my parents (we lived in a small town where almost everyone knew everyone else), but the queer and LGBTQ+ people there protected their own and didn't tell a soul. It was the first time I'd felt accepted, like I wasn't wrong, that I hadn't been "lead astray".

I marched with the rest of our community, wearing a rainbow pin on my lapel and my head up high. I snuck back home that night exhilarated, and that's when I knew for sure that I wasn't "faking" it. I hid the pin in a shoebox in the bottom of my closet (ironic, yes, I know), and I still look at it when I need to be reminded what we're fighting for.

I'm now proudly nonbinary and lesbian-ace, and while I'm still not out to my parents, I'm out to everyone else that matters. My two best friends have been dating for over three years now, and I was the one to help get them together. I personally don't want to date anyone yet, but after years of hating myself and second-guessing every move I made, I'm finally open to the prospect.

I owe it all to my friends, and to that first Pride Parade I marched in.

so i had an idea for an AU and so far i’m loving it. so you all know how bruce was best friends with harvey dent pre-TwoFace, right? so what if he still is best friends with harvey, and he has been for years

whenever harvey is in arkham, bruce goes and visits him every sunday. and the two of them will talk, bruce-as-bruce-not-brucie (because he’s never been able to fool harvey with his ‘idiot’ act) and harvey-as-harvey-not-Two-Face. it’s become a constant, like, the sun will rise, gotham’s police force is corrupt, and bruce visits harvey on sunday.

and then one sunday, harvey’s in arkham, waiting for his visit, but... it never comes. and obviously, harvey is worried, but he can’t break out quite yet, so he gets his underlings working on a way for him to get out.

and the next sunday rolls around, and bruce comes to visit, but he’s-- he’s crying. so harvey asks what’s wrong and bruce goes “my boy-- my son, my Jaylad, he’s dead. the joker killed him. my boy is gone.” and bruce is crying, the kind of heaving sobs that wrench your soul out and don’t leave you feeling any better afterwards.

and then, for once, harvey and two-face are in agreement-- the joker will pay. so harvey comforts bruce, tries to provide him with as much reassurance as he can in the time he has to give him before visiting hours close and bruce has to leave.

as soon as bruce leaves and harvey’s on the way to his cell, he grabs a gun off a guard and shoots them all dead. he breaks out of arkham and heads to one of his hidden safehouses. he gets his hands on a copy of jason’s autopsy and remembers the words bruce had forced out from between his sobs (”He- he beat him, and Jason was so- so mangled, I can’t-- I can’t do this, Harv, it hurts. THe Jok-joker-- he left Jason to die, staring at- at a bomb that was ticking down and he died alone, Harv, waiting for someone to save him. Waiting for me. And I didn’t, I didn’t save him.”) and he burns with anger.

the next day, harvey notices that the security around the joker is the same as it’s always been, and the Bat is making no moves to capture two-face. now harvey isn’t an idiot, he knows bruce knows what harvey’s planning on doing, and he knows how heavily bruce’s morality affects his life. bruce is making a choice to let the joker die, he’s in that much pain, and that’s what cements it for harvey.

two days later, the joker disappears from his cell in arkham. his body is found, weeks later, after an explosion goes off in a warehouse in ethiopia. his injuries line up with the police report of what happened to jason todd, but unlike jason, the joker’s wounds were painstakingly treated before being ripped open again and again. harvey had sworn that the joker would face ten-fold what he did to bruce’s son, but he admits he may have lost count once. or twice. or maybe even thrice.

but that doesn’t matter. ding, dong, the witch is dead! the joker is dead and gotham celebrates through silence. they won’t acknowledge the bastard, they won’t give him the attention he always wanted, and they go about their days like normal, faces stoic but a elephant-sized weight taken off their chests. once he hears the news, for the first time after his son’s death, bruce smiles.

later, when a crime lord sweeps into gotham and destroys half of the drug lords in the process, harvey’s out. he watches as nerveless fingers fumble off a helmet and broad arms encompass the red hood and press him to the batman’s chest. his work here is done, he thinks, and starts planning his next heist.

Our family has had State Farm for 70 years now, several generations, and in the last 10 years or so we have been progressively more & more disappointed in their caring and customer service. Maybe its just the 'assistants' that my local SF agent (who never talks to his clients any more) use, they both seem to have just horrible attitutudes, sarcastic, and act like you are a complete PITA every time you call. I even have an email from his main assistant that I asked her to forward to the actual agent because I was told he was the only one that could answer my question, and just today I was SHOCKED when I re-read the email, and saw in the forward of my email when his assistant sent it on to the actual SF agent, She said This guy will just not give up, he keeps haunting me about this issue! I couldn't freaking believe it. I was going to forward the email to SF headquarters in Bloomington IL, but then as I read more & more about state farm I saw they are completely independent agents in each office, and have literally NO ONE who is their boss or who can reprimand or correct them. This is unbelievable. If I treated my customers at my work place & gave them the rotten attitude treatment we get from our SF office here, I guarantee you I would lose my job. No one is in charge at state farm obviously. Back to my question - I recently bought a classic car I have been looking for a long time - getting it next week - it is 25 yrs old, all original & in perfect shape. My state (Maryland) lets me register the car as Historic if it is 20 yrs old or more. I plan to do this. I contacted my wonderful state farm office today, to get a quote on a new policy/binder for this collectors car. They apparently don't like insuring a vehicle as Historic, maybe the policy is too cheap & they do not make any money off it. The 'assistant' said the best they can do, even if I REGISTER this vehicle in Maryland as Historic & get an Historic tag, which I will do, she said the best she can do is insure it as part time, occasional pleasure use, under 7500 miles a year . Which of course is NOT an historic policy. You can get that on ANY extra car you have in your household even if it is a 2011 model !! She did say (and I understand this being required) that in order to have is classified as Antique/Classic/Historic, you have to have an appraisal done on the vehicle as if it just came off the show room floor -then the premiums would be much lower if you had full coverage on it, as historic/classic . So here we stand. Can someone out there please help me understand - am I being taken for a ride by my State Farm office? Should I shop around for insurance companies that just specialize in Classic/Historic auto insurance? the insurance co is threatening that a suspension is in progress if a payment is not made. payments have been made for the past 3 years but now they want the remaining 2000, and said they can suspend the liscense. Is this true? in the state of CA""

I rear-ended a car and that car hit another car. The car in the middle I believe will have lots of damages to repair. When my premium rates increase, what is the deciding factor on how much it will increase? Is it the cost of repairs to the cars? or just the fact that I got into an accident. Hey, three weeks ago, I got into a car accident and rear ended someone in the front with suv.
