The redhead smiled kindly at the woman. “I was just asking if you’re okay. I mean, you do not look so well.” Camille looked at her with some concern in her eyes. “Are you sure that you’re okay?” The woman sat in the chair next of Charlotte. She took a sip of her own drink, waiting for the answer.

“Oh,” her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she realised how she might look, having lost herself in her own thoughts. Truth was, she wasn’t doing so well.  “I’m fine, I guess. Just a lot on my mind, y’know? So much is going on I guess I just.. can’t stop thinking about it.”

“Don’t worry about it, I was just asking if I could sit here? If you don’t mind of course. Everywhere else seems to be occupied,” Andrea sighed at the sight of the usually never busy coffee house being completely packed today. “I think they’re having a sale or something. Never seen this place so busy.”

“Yeah, of course. Take a seat! I don’t mind,” she offered the brunette a warm smile, before taking to sipping on her coffee. “It’s crazy, right? I’ve never seen it so flooded. Either that or some big game is on, or some celebrity’s in town because.. it’s insane.”

Charlie was lost in thought, to say the least. A dying parent was not something anyone should have to deal with.. and yet bad luck struck a second time round for the freshly returned native. There had to be a way to save him; there just had to be. “—Sorry,” she stated once she realised someone was asking her a question. Smiling apologetically, the brunette composed herself and put on a fresh smile, “I was a little distracted. What were you saying?”

“Oh—are you sure? You don’t have a friend or coworker you’d rather give it to?”

“The barista made a mistake and thought I had ordered two cups of coffee. Fact is, I haven’t. And I can’t deny the temptation to drink them both but I also know that too much caffeine can turn me into the most obnoxious person on planet earth. So, if you want a cup of warm and free cream coffee with a bit of sugar, I’m your girl.”

“No. I’m not looking to purchase a dildo pack! I’m looking for the owner of your store…” An audible sigh in frustration emitted from his lips when he placed a palm over his expression. The voice on the other end continued to offer him discounts on sex toys. It was now obvious the man he was doing business for owned an adult novelty shop. “God, no… See he gave me this number to contact because I was supposed to be photographing his daughter’s headshots. I––” A flush of embarrassment overcame him when he heard another approach him, immediately recalling he wasn’t alone. Hanging up, he turned around to face his encounter. “––– You just never know with people, right?”
She tried to hide it, she really did. Her lips were tightening as she attempted to press them together, so as to prevent laughter from escaping. Instead she sat on the countertop, looking away and doing her best to compose herself and rid her core of any amusement. The brunette failed miserably as soon as he hung up, though, once a burst of laughter fell from her parted lips. “—I’m sorry,” she really wasn’t. Her lips had eased into a full blown grin, the kind that reached her eyes, even more so once she saw the flush of embarrassment on Leo’s features. Holding a hand over her mouth and clearing her throat, Charlie simply grinned. “So, starting a new business are we?”

“Probably not. One time instead of Charlie, I got Chilli. Don’t ask.”

Do you think the people in Starbucks even try to spell names right anymore? It’s probably more fun to see a person’s face when you manage to spell a three letter name completely wrong.

“Sorry to bother you. But you saw a little dog going through here? It is small, cute and has white fur. It also has a little pink collar with the name Maya. I can’t find her.”
Tumblr media
“Oh—no, I haven’t I’m sorry.” Her forehead creased in concern, eyes darting around the place, scanning to see if she’d missed her. “Want me to help you look for her?”

BASICS.
Name: Charlotte James Williams.
Birthdate: February 1st, 1990 (26).
Location: Hayes Valley.
Occupation: Ex Nurse and Waitress at Pinecrest Diner.
Face-claim: Lily Collins.
BIOGRAPHY.
Charlotte Rose Williams was born twenty six years ago to a couple that didn’t quite love each other; and yet had enough love to birth a son, and two years later their only daughter together. Her father was a well known lawyer around San Francisco, and her mother was an ex ballerina. Watching her parents growing up, Charlie didn’t quite have the perfect example of a good marriage in them whatsoever. They were constantly verbally abusing one another and hating one another, and the only thing that brought their family of four relief, was the day she turned six and they separated. To think, two kids would never want their parents to separate, and yet the day they did brought about a sense of peace for the very first time. One thing was for certain, she knew she had the love of each of her parents, and the support of her older brother Vince. They remain close to this day, and Charlie isn’t quite sure what she would’ve done without all the nights he was her shoulder to lean on. Sometimes it was a little hard to face the idea that her friends had parents who were together and who were happy.. and she had to go between two different thanksgivings, two Christmases, two birthdays. But as time went on, she accepted the idea that her parents were divorced.. and fairytales didn’t always happen for everyone.
And yet she never thought tragedy would strike, either. That such bad luck could leave her eternally scarred and with a black, dark void in her heart that would never be filled. Charlie was fifteen when her mother died, and processing it was practically impossible. Her mother had been on her way to pick up her daughter from dance practice, only to run a red light due to running late. Everything changed from that day onwards. It wasn’t just the place she lived in that changed, or her routines, or her dance practices, or the new pain that had infiltrated her heart. It was her relationship with her brother Vince that shifted the most. The very rock she had learned to lean on resented her, because in his eyes it was her fault. In a sense he blamed her because he couldn’t blame anyone else and it made things easier. And even though Charlie understood his anger, she couldn’t believe the hatred he felt towards her. They then began living full time with their father, step mother and half sister, Emily. Vince forbid her from dancing ever again — because dancing was something their mother did best. She couldn’t keep away from it, however, no matter how much it pained her.. because every movement, every song.. every story connected her right back to the very person that inspired her to love dancing so much. Her mother. Charlie began secretly using the gym at night, and once Vince moved away to New York for college, she really began dance practice.
Charlie found herself in UCLA studying one of her desired careers — nursing. However, she also ended up enrolling in a dance college nearby, something Vince to this day is still unaware of, one of the best in the country that allowed her to train nights and perform on weekends. Ever since she was a little girl, dancing lured out the deepest passion within her she never knew existed. Every time her mother would take her to the latest ballet show in town, she fell more and more in love with the fragility and grace the ballerinas held and translated to the audience. She knew that someday, she wanted to be on that stage in that very story. Charlotte wanted to be the storyteller, just like her mother had once been. Getting into the dance academy was perhaps the greatest achievement, knowing she was one step further to reaching her dream. There wasn’t an afternoon she wasn’t practicing. Until she met a local medical resident whilst interning, a doctor that was undeniably charismatic, gorgeous, and compelling in every which way — all of which distracted her from her studies.
She wasn’t supposed to fall in love, she wasn’t even supposed to allow herself to get close to anyone — sleeping around and having her fun was where it was supposed to end. It was college, Charlie had a focus, and a terrible idea of love anyhow. He was also married. There was no reason for them to get together, and yet their chemistry was undeniable. They had a pull like no other, that led them deep into an affair they couldn’t seem to get out of. It had been several months, and Charlie was completely in love with him. But the day she learned she was pregnant — it was yet another altering moment in life for her. It turned her into the girl on the run. The end of junior year was approaching, Charlie had just found out she was pregnant and she was fleeing. Without even so much as a goodbye Charlie left, afraid of telling him about her pregnancy because in her mind, she would have the child and give him or her up for adoption. She escaped across the country to Portland, Maine.. and once she gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl, Harper Vivienne Williams.. there was no way in hell she was letting her go. Her entire world changed once more, and for the better.
At just twenty three years old, Charlie was a mother studying nursing part-time and waitressing at the local restaurant full-time. Dancing was no longer an option after becoming a mother; nobody would take her. Her father slipped in a little rent payment whenever he could, and her brother did his best to visit her and involve himself in Harper’s life. Because even though the resentment towards Charlie still existed (in the mildest form), he couldn’t bring himself not to love and adore his niece. There were countless times her dad attempted to convince her to move back to Montreal, but she couldn’t bring herself to move there knowing she might have to face her old life, or worse.. face Harper’s dad. She had lied to him in the greatest way, and confusing Harper with all of that — she just wasn’t ready. It was bound to happen someday, and it had to happen, but she was afraid. In the past two months, however, she made the great decision to move into a Hayes Valley apartment her father had bought her as an investment. She knows that there is a possibility that the father of Harper’s child could visit San Francisco, considering LA wasn’t too far away. She knows that everything could change again — but she can’t run anymore.. especially from her family. Her father was terminally ill and it was yet another blow in the life of this young Williams. He was given six months to a year. There wasn’t a chance in the world Charlie wasn’t going to be there for her father and prevent Harper from knowing her grandfather. Losing her mother was the worst possible happening in the world, and this event would be just as tragic. This time, though, she had a chance to spend time with her parent. Change was a recurring theme in Charlie’s life, and if it was out of her control, she was going to ensure she was controlling the sails.
Charlie is most definitely outgoing, friendly and an overall very warm person. She enjoys socialising, and loves making friends. She also loves her job, which allows her to connect with people on a daily basis and helps with the mortgage money. She is extremely loyal, however, and is willing to surpass the whole ‘kind’ thing if anyone were to bad mouth her family or bring them down. The brunette carries a temper like no other deep down inside that petite body. She is an extremely caring and considerate person overall, and enjoys helping others around her. Charlotte is very secretive in nature, however, and tends to hide her emotions — much like she hid her love and act of dancing from her brother. She knows it isn’t healthy to bury her emotions, but it was an easy way to cope with everything. Dealing with the guilt of her mother’s death, however, has affected her in the worst ways possible. She has an inferiority complex as a result, and tends to fall into depression every now and again. She does her best to please the people around her, and knows that family is most important. But Charlotte can’t help but feel a little down sometimes, as the weight of her loss almost ten years ago and the notion of another on it’s way tend to bring her down.
PERSONALITY.
+ compassionate, loyal, nurturing. - cynical, distant, stubborn.

I think it’s just important to not judge people based on their physicality because it’s really about personality and people’s hearts and souls. That’s what drew me to Audrey Hepburn who is kind of like my icon.
