Golden Wildfire Ch 11

On we go to ch 11. Things are . . . uh . . . interesting.

MAIN STORY

So if you didn't see ch 10, I failed to recruit Byleth. I retried the level a few time, but honestly I just want to finish this game so I didn't bother.

Plus, the reason I failed was that Claude just sat there instead of moving forward on the escort mission, which got really frustrating, and honestly I didn't want to bother.

Ugh, I don't want to fight the Kingdom.

So those Houses that wanted to defect to the Kingdom didn't because Claude's battle was that bloody in that fire map.

Poor Dimitri and co seems like he's just betting bullied for no real reason by two imperialistic maniacs.

I love how Arval is getting snooty over Shez getting credit for their tactics lamo.

Man, this dialogue is dragging.

So Nadar is going to cause diplomatic chaos by utilizing the Almyran army without getting real permission.

Wait, Claude riled up Sreng? So much for "ending racism" lamo. Wasn't having two cultures not be prejudice against each other like his MO? The writers really just threw him in the trash, hunh.

I feel so bad for Claude fans. He's really a piece of work in this.

MAP/SIDE STUFF

Everyone missing Judith has a lot more punch than Randolph. Even Monica was like "get over it" to Fleche (but nicely).

So, let me make sure I have this right. Mr. I Want to End Prejudice Between Cultures just provoked Sreng into attacking the Kingdom so Edelgard can take it over because Rhea is the reason for everything bad. Did I get that right?

Unlike SB, GW is entertaining as hell, but man is the logic here is just non-existant. And poor Claude RIP.

Like, I know I'm biased and all, but I don't see how you're supposed to be the heroes and not Dimitri here. The people just defending themselves are getting attacked on all 3 fronts for the crime of *existing.*

They're talking about how Hilda exerted energy in a battle because she worried about Shez.

Hilda claims it's just self-defense bc she was cheering for Shez on the front lines and enemies were there (honestly, this is pretty boring so far)

It's the same-old Hilda claiming she's weak but that not being true.

SHEZ & CONSTANCE C SUPPORT

I know she's an Empire character, but whatever.

She wants to create new magics to restore her noble house and wants to research Shez bc of their weird magic

Lamo, Constance low-key called us dumb

Shez suggests she get her house back through military accomplishments.

Constance refuses to train right now, she wants to at night (it's her dual personality thing, right?)

CLAUDE & LYSITHEA B SUPPORT

Their first one. Claude's unhappy Lysithea charged in the last battle. But Lysithea kicked ass, so she's upset with Claude.

Claude calls her plan dumb and that he thought Lysithea was smarter than that. Lysithea still argues it ended earlier bc of her.

Lysithea doesn't back down.

Honestly, I side with her here. Claude's being patronizing. And it's rich of him not to care about all the other deaths dragging out the battle would cause and only Lysithea dying because she's *important*

CLAUDE & HOLST A SUPPORT

Oof, this one hurts. Claude accuses the church of creating all the systems to serve their own interests, because he doesn't know the truth here. That the Empire actually created most of it, and that all the church ever did was protect a genocided race from being murdered by more power-hungry humans.

It's also hysterical to hear Claude talk about wanting to improve foreign relations while instigating a war between two cultures.

Oof, Holst doesn't care about any of this. He's only worried Claude's going to send Hilda to marry a big, brown, scary foreigner. NOT a good look.

Holst says he cares more about Hilda's future than the whole Alliance. Yikes.

HILDA & HOLST A SUPPORT

They're preparing a feast.

Oh, it's nice to see Hilda's insecurities about Holst's "perfection" come up in this, bc so far she hadn't said much.

After that last support though, Holst is actually a pretty shitty leader.

Holst wants to make the feast all about Hilda instead of himself though. Hilda likes the attention.

Hilda basically had to set up her own feast lol.

HILDA & LINHARDT A SUPPORT

Hilda's cleaning, and Linhardt's honestly upset that he's lost a fellow lazy person.

Hilda claims she never pushes work on people. That, is a lie.

Linhardt is mostly worried how bad it'll look if he's the only one not working instead one of two.

All this support confirms that Linhardt is by far the superior lazy.

LORENZ & LYSITHEA A SUPPORT

Their only support.

So, not related to their support (and watch it counter it), but I find it pretty amusing how getting a leadership position faster matured Felix and Sylvain, but Lorenz is still a bit of a joke and the butt-end of every support he's in.

He's just bragging about how awesome his position and power is.

Lysithea says she's not inheriting her house. She claims it's because she doesn't like what comes with nobility, but we all know why.

She worried that the land will go to chaos without it's leaders though. Lorenz offers help (which, imo, he's actually mature here!)

Lorenz suspects she's turning it down for another reason and encourages her to rely on others to help.

RAPHAEL & LEONIE B SUPPORT

Raphael keeps snapping bows in half when he uses them. Leonie's shocked.

Leonie seems to actually make one and invites Raphael to test it while on guard duty with her.

IGNATZ & MARIANNE B SUPPORT

Marianne found his picture. He puts it down, but she likes it (it's a horse, well a pegasus, but of course)

Ignatz gets carried away talking about it, but Marianne finds it cute.

Ignatz finds Marianne loving pegasus cute. She blushes.

He wants Marianne's help, helping him paint a pegasus bc they don't like men, but if Marianne is around he can get closer and get a better painting. She's happy to help.

Honestly, this whole support is really cute.

MAIN BATTLE/STORY

It sucks having to attack the Kingdom over and over again when all they want to do is exist in peace.

Oh, joy, Nadar wants to plunder Faerghus. I can see why Fodlan is so evil for not wanting to let them do what they will.

GW really had a chance here to finally do something interesting with Almyra. It even marketed itself as a route that WOULD. But instead it's just doubled-down on Almyra being a one-note lawless place full of barbarians. At least we have Brigid and Duscur so the only brown country isn't some racist stereotype. Since it's only 1 of 3, it's not AS bad of a look.

Fuck. I don't want to kill Felix and Rodrigue. It would be one thing if the Kingdom actually provoked this, but Felix and Rodrigue haven't done anything to deserve this.

I get to recruit Ashe again. Is he miserable here too?

Ugh, I was hoping Felix and Rodrigue weren't here. It seems vastly unfair that it's only Kingdom characters who die for reel in this.

Wow. Claude's really an A-class asshole. He told Ashe to surrender because Dimitri wouldn't want him to die. Maybe don't invade for no reason then?

Is Claude also going to single Felix out as a citizen of Faerghus who deserves to live? Or does only Ashe count and not the nobles and unnamed grunts he's slaughtering because he decided to team up with the person who plans on taking over his rule? (not hate to Ashe at all, I honestly feel awful for him in this game)

Ok, so fighting Felix is just a side quest. I'd rather fail a side quest than fight Felix so, going to try to avoid having to kill him. Ugh, he's attacking the engineers. And he's damn right saying he has every right to kill the people who are invading his home.

Thank God, he just retreated.

I still love how Claude got bent out of shape over Ashe, but Lorenz alone has killed 500 citizens of Faerghus this chapter so . . .

Felix is so worried about Rodrigue. I swear the writers wanted you to feel like shit playing this route.

Oh, fuck. Just when I thought I was finished killing people for defending themselves, Daddy Gautier shows up :( He's sacrificing himself to safe Felix and Rodrigue, isn't he?

It's really hard to like these characters, making mindless chit-chat after killing Sylvain's daddy. I hope Sylvain fucks them up a new one.

I've never wanted to slap a character more than I'd love to slap Claude right now. The moron has the audacity to be surprised people are going to die while he's invading a foreign country. What a fucking stupid moron.

That's right guys. Margrave Gautier died defending his king, his country, his home, and most importantly one of his fucking best friends from an asshole invader. But it's CULTURE'S fault he died.

I'm really confused what the hell Claude thinks he's doing. Does he REALLY think killing Rhea will magically allow people to live as they please? Didn't he grow up in another country where they had princes and shit and NO Rhea?? All he's doing is making Edelgard's take over easier.

The writing in this route has gotten really fucking stupid. Like, I LIKE the idea of evil!Claude. Either a Claude who wants to take over all of Fodlan or one who's ruthless and will do anything to preserve Leicester.

But what I don't like is really fucking dumb Claude, which is what GW's devolved into.

I'm convinced someone who's a major Edelgard stan wrote the larger plot of this, but then a Dimitri stan wrote the actual dialogue 😅

We really go from one moment Claude being like - it's Rhea's fault Gautier died bc Kingdom culture bad because church bad to Sylvain being like, naw, he died defending his friends.

At the very least, I'll give Hopes credit here. At least they didn't write anyone opposing Edelgard as either evil or like they're idiots for resisting invasion, but I almost feel like they made the Kingdom especially too sympathetic which makes Edelgard look more interesting (since SB is more honest than CF) and Claude just look like a bozo. Rhea just doesn't look like anything since she's not even here.

Though, I REALLY wish Claude didn't side with us in AG. I really wish we got to see Faerghus backed into a corner and kick everyone's asses. They've very much the underdog and watching them do that would've been awesome.

Felix and Rodrigue are beating themselves up over this.

See, this is what I mean - Sylvain just said he's reserving all his hatred for the foreign invaders who take everything for no reason - I really feel like a Dimitri fan saw how everyone collectively decided to take a dump on the Kingdom in the big plot and got revenge by making everyone look like villains (or morons in Claude's case) for doing so in the writing.

GASGAS GOES BIG WITH TWO FACTORY EDITION MOTOCROSS MODELS FOR 2023!

This is the motor I'd redesigned and it's lighter and more powerful and last longer and it moved them over to liquid cool shortly after most bikes were not they didn't do too well and that's why it's just a small system but it's jacketing and use the same block and you just change the top lock and now it's a combined liquid in the air as redundancy and they matched it but really they went out of business in 2017 it stopped building them fully and we have some of the factories we can move it out here it's quite a move and it's quite a thing you end up defending it like crazy when I understand you want to build ordinance out there and you have to do it or you just going to lose it and I suggest you start with this and work your way up and they agree this is a hefty bike even though they're just a 450 the frame is built to support people who weigh a lot cuz these guys get fat real quick and they could never carry their weight around so the frame is real strong and sturdy it makes a race much nicer I can lay the power down instead of it slipping out underneath you like my husband's bike does sometimes the ATK is overpowered and he knows it doesn't care cuz when you're bigger you need it these bikes are powered and a little bit overpowered but they're still grip. It's a wonderful new design it's a beautiful looking bike they're extremely fast very reliable and made in the United States and we're going to send samples we started producing them already well we have some from 2018 and it's practically what we're going to build and they're very nice they're fast and effective and efficient and I can't wait

What these guys are doing with these bikes I hear it's quite illegal and against Max and it's like the concept of recycling and using a recycled bike that really never I don't think it took off they say I'm wrong but I don't think they see any this would be a bit different story and a whole bunch of these lamos will go out there to try and stop you and it's really something that probably would keep them trickling in and the bikes are very sound and powerful and you change the firing color and you have what you want and they'll get you quite a distance they have big tanks she says it's a 3.5 gallon which is huge it goes about they're saying 250 miles if you're cruising and they like that that's pretty far if you're not cruising it's about 200 miles but these things are beefy but when you call a gas gas there's your reason why they needed that and it is a warlock bike but it's our design and mostly it's got Terry cheesman's name on it and that we hear that it was him and he decides bikes at work like the V-Rod and the gas gas does mean something it means you're giving it the gas but you're not giving it gas and you're burning up the wrong fuel so it's got red on it like the Japanese

Okay you're welcome to ignore this because it is entirely UPG but! I would like to offer up my own personal diety of public transit and pedestrians: Clyde.

Context and History

I grew up in the West Coast Pagan community where we have a frequently called upon but recently recognized diety named Squat the Goddess of Parking Spots. She's worshiped by telling nun jokes, keeping a photo of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence in your car, or by chanting "Squat, Squat, full of grace, help us find a parking space!".

I don't know the exact history of this deity, but I think I remember my mom's old priestess saying it originated in a coven down in San Francisco. If this is true Squat's usage and worship had traveled up to at least Vancouver Canada by the time I was born.

Anyway, when I first started regularly taking public transit I recognized the need for a similar diety who would help with the day to day difficulties of American public transit. Clyde was the very first name that popped into my head, and so Clyde is the name of this deity.

At one point I mentioned Clyde to some friends at my Pagan place of worship and sense then a number of them have picked up praying to him as well, so I know he is an effective and helpful deity for people besides myself.

Who Is Clyde and what does he do?

Clyde is the deity of public transit and pedestrians. He's in charge of busses, trains, cross walks, ferries, trollies, and all other types of public transportation.

You can pray to him to make your bus or boat come on time, to make the cross walks turn green as you reach them, or to keep you safe when traveling on foot or taking public transit.

American public transit is notoriously garbage, and Clyde doesn't have the power to fix this. However, if you build a relationship with him you'll find that when trains break down and busses don't come it's usually at moments where you have some buffer time and it doesn't impact your life too much.

For instance, I take public transit everywhere and sense I started working with Clyde I haven't been late to work once (even when I had to do three bus transfers to get to my job!) The busses always seem to have their engine problems when I'm heading home for the night and being late won't get me fired.

How to worship:

Like any deity, you should worship Clyde in whatever way works best for you, but for me, the most effective form of worship has been acts of patience.

Always wait for the cross walk light to turn green, even if you don't see any cars. If you're not in a hurry and the bus is full, wait for the next one so that other people can get on instead. I am big on acts of practical reverence and this is what works for me.

I do have one friend that has an altar for Clyde in their house covered in toy trains and bus passes. I think this is adorable, and it does seem to be effective.

Also, it never hurts to think really hard about how much you love trains and public transit lamo.

Anyways, you and anyone else who reads this are welcome to incorporate Clyde into your belief system if you want to, just be nice to him, he's a wonderful little guy

So it starts with Rodrigue taking Shez very seriously as Shez talks about how the war may be over by next winter because she . . . wants to have a snowball fight, like all the Kingdom kids got to do.

It's actually kind of sweet, seeing Shez want to just play and have fun with the Blue Lions.

Rodrigue, of course, love the idea.

And takes snowball fighting too seriously, talking strategy. Of a snowball fight. OMG I love this. I love him.

He'd do full-out battle with Lambert and go with kids.

So Lambert would rush into battle alone, and Shez thinks like father like son with Dimitri.

I also love how Rodrigue thinks Gautier is cowardly for laying and ambush for Lambert, but is totally fine with his own sneaking and waiting to strike.

It ended with them getting cussed out by Ingrid's dad for not taking the mountain seriously.

Shez can invite Rodrigue to join in.

Oh, man, I wish I got to see this fight. I can only imagine Felix when he realizes Rodrigue is involved and thinking it's dumb for taking it seriously, then taking it seriously. Ingrid being an absolute tyrant ordering people to follow her strategies. Dimitri scared he'll knock someone's teeth out. Mercedes being absolutely savage. And so on...

DIMITRI & YURI C

Excited for this.

Yuri's told a "funny knight" who's really strong is helping everyone out who sometimes sounds sheltered and obtuse and sometimes not. Yep. It's Dimitri.

Yuri's not happy seeing Dimitri in dangerous allies. Worried about him. But Dimitri wants to learn how the commoners live so he can help them rule better.

OMG, Yuri's like "you don't have an heir," worried about the civil war that will happen if Dimitri dies.

Yuri is determined for Dimitri to live a long and happy life because the people of Faerghus like Dimitri and Yuri likes the commonfolk of Faerghus.

Also love how Yuri points out that if war breaks out, nobles will die, but commoners get slaughtered. Wish he'd tell Edelgard that.

Haha, he says to bring Dedue at least.

OMG, I love Dimitri. He then just asks Yuri to be his bodyguard.

And Dimitri won't ask Dedue because he knows Dedue will just forbid Dimitri from coming, like a nanny, lol.

Dedue is impressed with Sylvain for interacting with a woman like a normal person lamo.

Sylvain was motivated to mature by Felix and Dimitri. He said they're both like brothers, which is why he wouldn't get left behind. I love this group.

Felix didn't tell Sylvain because he was worried about Sylvain hearing the details about what people said about him.

I love the idea of Felix getting into a fist-fight with people insulting Sylvain lamo.

Sylvain thinks he deserves his bad reputation because of who he used to be. Felix challenged why Sylvain didn't change sooner. Sylvain has no defense lol.

Felix is ok with people making fun of Sylvain, but only certain people lamo.

Felix is blushing after saying something nice lol. Now he's pissed at Sylvain. And insulting him. Very typical Felix.

Sylvain says he's 7% more cunning than Felix lamo.

This one did go more into ship bait. I was surprised how un-shippy their C was, but I'm sure Sylvix fans loved this one.

DIMITRI & MERCEDES A

They're traveling to a village together. It's the one Mercedes used to live in. Dimitri likes how calm it is.

Mercie called Dimitri her friend 😭😭

Dimitri claims he's a king's knight lol. He catches himself. Also village woman finds Dimitri handsome. She has taste.

Mercedes and Dimitri talk about how open minded the church is and give credit to the overall teachings (lamo, eat shit, Claude)

Mercedes is grateful to Dimitri to taking in the Central Church because it helped the village out. It's why she brought him there, so he could see the good that comes from protecting the church.

Mercedes plans to show him around the town and introduce Dimitri to her mother and the priest.

Dimitri's nervous lol. Hahaha, Mercie says she'll tell him he's someone "very important" which flusters him lamo.

She made him laugh and smile.

This support was adorable. (and feels like it couldn't possibly be the same writers as SB and GW lamo)

MERCEDES & DEDUE B

Sad they only get one support. Their Houses one was amazing.

Mercedes is teaching cooking. The little girl gets scared of Dedue when he arrives to fetch Mercie.

Mercie says lots of the kids are orphans, so they're scared, and that Dedue looks intimidating. She has a plan to make him not look as scary.

Now all the kids love Dedue. Good. He's the sweetest man in Fodlan.

Dedue teaches them how to make the crowns.

Dedue is happy with Mercedes, but Mercie says it was Dedue's kindness who won them over. Of course they both give each other credit.

They both have such strong mom and dad energy.

SHEZ & ANNETTE A

Annette's up late working on music lol. Shez thinks the notes look like bugs lol.

Annette won't sing it though :( Her songs are legendary.

She wants a song that makes people feel happy when they sing it. Very Annette.

She heard the song Shez passed around getting sung by a dying mercenary, who died happy though because they appreciated the song. It made Annette appreciate the song more.

She is such a sweetie.

It's sweet to have a whole support revolve around Annette realizing her songs make people happy and help people. She'd love that.

OMG, I love Annette. Her new song is about a feast, then they go to get more ingredients, and then get into a death battle with a bear. Truly a child of Faerghus.

RAPHAEL & FELIX C

Raphael is drooling over Felix's food, so he gives it to Raphael, and Felix offers to go buy more.

Felix thinks he hears thunder, but it's just Raphael's stomach.

Felix is being nice, lol, insisting Raphael eat some of his food.

But now he's annoyed that Raphael called him a "meat buddy" or a bit. Felix likes the idea of hunting that Raphael suggested.

Raphael is so nice not even Felix can manage to get mad at him.

SYLVAIN & IGNATZ C

Sylvain feels bad because he interrupted Ignatz painting. He wanted Ignatz to look at a painting he brought home.

Sylvain knows painting styles (he knows it's not a common Faerghus style). But ofc Sylvain is interested in how pretty the woman in the painting is lamo.

He's curious about the woman's identity, but it doesn't seem in a fuck boy way, but a curiosity over a favorite piece of art way.

That Sylvain is into art just made him even cooler.

Religious art often has their symbols in the art (and Flayn's is fish lamo, good).

As a major art fan, I love this support adding little tid bits about Fodlan art.

Yuri chatted with a scholar, wanting to learn about the 10 elites because he didn't get a good education.

Flayn thinks Shez looks good because she's dirty and that suites her lol. I love Flayn.

Flayn is wearing perfume. Seteth probably doesn't know lamo.

Flayn talks about how perfumes coming in trend shows that even in dark times, it's not all consuming. Very Flayn of her.

We're going trend shopping. She doesn't get to shop often.

Flayn is straight-up making shit up, lamo. She invented that Shez wanted to shop to raise Shez's spirits, not hers.

It's this more -uh - questionable side of Flayn that keeps her from being a one-note, overly sweet character. I love it.

CATHERINE & SHEZ C

Count Charon asks Catherine for more soldiers, but only Dimitri or Rhea could give that order.

Shez didn't know Catherine's family. She stays vague about it when Shez asks about her past.

Catherine, unsurprisingly, says she'd fight for Rhea if had to choose between her or her family.

Catherine asks why Shez is here. Oh, I can pick too - for friends, money, or to fight Byleth. Def picking friends. I think that suits AG Shez best.

Catherine looks happy with that answer.

Oh, I like that, live in a way that makes your past self proud.

ASHE & FELIX B

Their only support.

Oh, Felix is confronting Ashe about how he's a knight working for Dimitri. Should've known it would be about this.

Ashe defends Felix when he calls Dimitri a boar and tiresome lol.

It's cool seeing papa Gautier and Rodrigue together.

The Sreng commander really came across like a dick. Rubbing in Miklain's death, not caring about all the men he got killed.

So did Claude do this in AG too? Incite Sreng? They guess Cornelia and someone from Adrestia too, which could be the case in AG.

Gautier takes credit for the fall. Sylvain got through to the guy apparently.

Dimitri's just happy they share a language now. He would know how important that is since he learned the language of Duscur.

I'm glad they fight over land. It's way more interesting and realistic than whatever the hell they did with Almyra.

Lambert wanted peace with Sreng and Duscur. Dimitri's half-way there, and he and Sylvain are working on the other half.

Gautier now agrees with Sylvain, Lambert, and Dimitri and a pathway to peace.

Aww, Rodrigue advised that he apologize to Sylvain, and he's going too.

FINAL BATTLE

It's really something that the Blue Lions show way more sympathy towards their enemy than the other routes do. They're the only ones that feel guilty for "invading." When the others are invading.

Glad they're bringing up that if they don't do this, Adrestia will not stop until Faerghus is destroyed.

Rodrigue has such a nice voice.

Felix got angry with Rodrigue when he said all the blame for invading will fall on Dimitri, but then Rodrigue said it's up to Felix to support him through it. This really is Dimilix the route, lamo.

Why is Shez talking to Rodrigue while it's late. I'm getting flashbacks. He died last time this happened.

Lambert had a shorter temper than Dimitri, but are very similar. Unlike Rodrigue and Felix. I get to disagree with Rodrigue there, so I will. Because I think they're more alike than they both think.

Ok guys, we finally got it. Why Felix is miserable outside of AM. He can't live without a great purpose pushing him forward. And in SS, VW, and CF he finds no great purpose, unlike in AM where working with Dimitri towards his version of the future does work.

When Lambert died, Rodrigue struggled to find another reason for being. So he devoted himself to his promise to Lambert, to make sure he sets his won back on his proper path is he loses his way.

Shez feels like Dimitri's been helping her, but she's helping Dimitri too. Like what Rodrigue is doing.

Rodrigue says he's only Dimitri's retainer, that's so false. But he says Shez is in a unique spot since she's a friend first, then he's her leader. Which makes me happy.

More teasing about Shez's origins.

Rodrigue says though that Shez's background or powers aren't what's important, it's about who Shez is as a person. I love so much how the Blue Lions keep repeating this idea, that it's not Byleth's or Shez's power. It's their worth as a person that matters.

If you wouldn't mind: from not much to completely doubling down, how deep in denial would the harem be if they were confronted by their closer friends (i.e. Amber for Eula, the Kamisatos for Thoma, etc.) about their feelings for Diluc?

So let's low here to the people who would actually be in denial about this loves for Diluc. So check out this post for my Diluc harem confessions.

So if you recall. My deniers were Thoma, Zhongli, Eula, and Xiao.

Thoma is the one probably in the most denial, to be honest. Mostly because he put himself in the friendship zone. Like, bro literally put himself there and plays off everything Diluc does as

"Oh its just because we are friends."

KNOWING FULL WELL DILUC ISN'T LIKE THAT WITH JUST FRIENDS.

And honestly when Ayaka sees it first hand. She's absolutely confused.

"Uh Thoma. Are you certain you and Master Ragnvindr are... "just friends"..."

"Of course! I know he looks mean but he's really sweet and gentle."

"Yes... but he's only like that with you."

"Well he's not very social."

"But the bard and the sister. He's very close with them."

"Oh yes! He's actually told me the bard is his best friend." And Thoma looks a little sad.

"But does he hold Venti's hand?"

"Hmmm not really."

"Does he lean on him?"

"No."

"But he does that with you."

"Yes!"

"..."

"..."

"He likes you."

"Well of course he does we are really good friends."

And that's where Ayaka gives up. Ayato (we are going to ignore my Ayatoluc preference here) is a little more forcefully and just straight up gives Thoma dating/flirting advice. While playing into Thoma's denial.

"Tell him his eyes are beautiful."

"Uuuh would friends say that."

"Only really good friend. Which you and Master Ragnvindr are."

Ayato is smart and realize Thoma is so hard in denial only rock bottom is gonna wake him up. So yeah. He's making it worst lamo.

Now Eula. She's not so much in denial as more she's worried about the consequences. Like people hating her? She can deal with that. It's lonely but she can deal. She has her friends.

Diluc tho. He's Mondstadt's golden boy. He's like a shining star everyone looks up to him and he's worthy of the admiration and respect. Even when he acts a little aloof. She doesn't want people to think as poorly of him as they do of her.

So she does her best to avoid him. Amber tho. She is the best at not only translating Eula speak. But she's really good and translating Diluc speak. So she learns pretty quick Eula and Diluc respect each other. So Eula and Diluc might have a conversation like

"Oh good day Captain Eula. Your coming back for patrol? Did it go well?"

"Master Diluc. Of course it did. Your question of my abilities is quite offensive."

"Oh I have no question in your abilities. Acutally I find you among the more competent."

"Tsk. Well Master I will still have to take Vengeance for this insult."

"Very well. I'll accept my punishment."

Now the Amber translation

"Oh Eula your back. Are you safe? Uninjured?"

"Diluc. Yes I'm well thank you for your concern."

"Well I'm glad. I admire your strength."

"Thank you. I'll visit you later."

"I'll welcome you."

Honeslt she finds it so cute that they like each other. She acutall thinks they fit each other so well and often will tease Eula and always bring Eula to Angel's share when Diluc is working. She doesn't really confront Eula but does play match maker. And I think one drunk night Eula is just staring at Diluc and being particularly down and Amber would just gently push.

"Maybe you should ask him out."

"No way. A Ragnvindr would never like a Lawrence."

"Uh... Eula. Master Diluc likes you. A lot."

"Beside I could not stand other disrespecting him.

"Eula. He's likes you."

"And he's gets marriage purposals daily. I refuse to just add to that number."

"Eula!" Amber just grabs her and forces her to look at Diluc.

And he quickly notices them and es gently smiles and waves.

"He's not smiling at me."

It will take a bit for her to work up the courage. But she does, and he happily accepts it.

Moving on to Liyue and Zhongli. He is just a little more unaware of himself and human courting customs. And the idea actually makes him a bit nervous. As with the value of mora he has trouble relating to human standards of affection.

Yet he will still often wax poetically about Diluc's profile and his noble personality and how he might not be from Liyue, but he still holds such noble values and respects their customs. And there are 2 main recipients of these lectures. Hu tao and Venti.

Hu Tao is also the one who ends up picking up the tab on items Zhongli suddenly bought outta the blue because "it reminded him of something Diluc important." She most of the time is used to his lectures, so it's a little more white noise to her at this point. But she does occasionally just say.

"Just ask him out already."

To which Zhongli vehemently denies any romantic feelings for Diluc. He's just "appreciative of his beauty and gentle nature." Hu tao just rolls her eyes and continues working on her new coffin ad.

Venti, on the other hand he's more active in the situation. And he's a little torn because wanting to see his dear old friend happy. And smacking the living shit out of Zhongli and calling him a cradle robber. He eventually gives in to the first after seeing Diluc clearly having a crush on Zhongli. But he still gives him one good smack upside the head for being so dense to start.

"You have Romantic feelings."

"What are you going on about Of course I don't."

Smack! "You have romantic feelings for Diluc."

"That's absurd-" Smack!

"You know what people who don't have romantic feelings don't do? They don't stare longingly. They don't talk for an hour straight about one person. They don't constantly buy things that remind them of said person. "

"You've just listed off things I do."

"Yeah. Dumbass."

"..."

"Come on... Out with it now."

"I... Might have romantic feelings for Master Diluc."

Smack!

"I... *sigh* definitely have romantic feelings for Master Diluc."

So finally, Xiao. Xiao to be honest the most confused outta the bunch. Like Zhongli, he doesn't quite understand human attraction but like Thoma, he also denies it with everything he has.

Like he is supposed to defeat evil and he, most of the time, sees protecting humans as more of a residual effect. It's important. But it's more important to protect the good of the whole rather than the individual. But after he starts meeting Diluc, he suddenly starts feeling that this individual. He's very, very important. He needs safekeeping. He too often puts himself in danger he shouldn't be in for the sake of others and that greatly upsets Xiao. And he has no clue why he feels this way.

But the problem is Xiao isn't going to be very forthcoming about his feelings. Like there is a chance he'd bring it up to Zhongli, and Zhongli might help. But I can also the staff of the inn noticing and reporting it to Ningqung. Who might decide a last-minute visit to the yaksha.

"I have something very important to ask of you, Yakxha Xiao."

"Yes, Tianquan."

"It's very important in this new age for us to get along with other nations. Especially our neighbor Mondstadt. Master Diluc Ragnvindr. Is not only the biggest trader in Mondstadt, but he sits atop the whole alcohol industry."

Xiao slowly putting it together. "Yes."

"When he is in Liyue. I humbly ask that you keep him company and see that he's well protected. As yaksha, you are not only the strongest for the job but your knowledge of Liyue and its contracts might prove useful to him."

And Xiao just, while having a very serious expression, just lights up with excitement. Because he knew Diluc was important. And now he's got a reason to watch him more carefully.

Meanwhile, Ningquang is happily smiling to herself and making plans for precautions they should take when Xiao takes his 'trips' to Mondstadt. And She defiantly sends a through a certain channel to a certain colleague telling him. He can thank her later.
