Alessia x Child!R - Part 3 of the Diabetes & Love Series Warnings: Hospitals, Diabetes, Cannulas
The last actual part of the series, all the next fics part of the series will be one-shots/blurbs
Tumblr media
After a week-long stay in the hospital you were finally allowed to go home. Alessia was slightly nervous to go home but she knew it had to happen eventually and she knew she could do it.
“Mummy, icky,” you said as you walked over to her, leaving your toys in the middle of the floor, your Mum was over near the new set of shelves you helped build earlier that day, she was organising all your new supplies so they were easy to get. You had been told how important it was that you told an adult when you felt bad, so that's what you were doing, your Mum had quickly learnt that icky seemed to be for lows and yucky was for highs, she checked her phone to see your sensor did indeed say you were low, however as always you had to have your finger pricked first to check, “ow” you smiled cheekily, your Mum knew it didn’t hurt you but sometimes you like to say it as a joke.
“You little trickster, and also it does seem that you are icky, do you want a juice?” you nodded and she made quick work of fetching you a juice, “why don’t you help Mummy organise these while you have your juice,” she said handing you the pile of small wipe packets which had been mixed up when Lotte accidently dropped them, when she started helping, but she was quickly banned from helping and was sent to the grocery store, some of them were to help get rid of the sticky, some were to help clean your skin and then the others were to help your sensors stick to you, you agreed and quickly got to work sorting out the wipes into their respective containers. Your Mummy knew getting you to help her would keep you still for long enough time that the juice could start bringing up your blood sugar.
By the time you had finished organising the wipes your Mum had finished putting everything away.
“Pea, what if we did some shopping together on Mummy’s computer, there are stickers we could put over your helpers so that they stay in place better but also look pretty, and we could find some new better looking bags to put all your supplies in,” you nodded eagerly before following her into to the office, she helped you sit on her lap, as you looked at many different things with her, “that one!” you exclaimed as you pointed to a case that had a pale pink cow patch pattern on it, and Alessia added it to the cart, along with many different patch designs, device stickers and another case which was larger for when you travelled, and some other items.
________
Three days later a package arrived for you and you were very excited to open it, knowing what it was.
“Look Mummy!” you yelled as you pulled out one of the sticker packs. “Do you like them?” you nodded eagerly, and she immediately knew she had her answer, “well what if we take off your current sensors, and give you a bath and then when we put your new sensors on we can choose which patches we put on,”
“Okay,” you said before taking her hand and pulling her into the bathroom. Alessia was the most nervous for this. This would be her first time changing your pod and sensor without the nurses or doctors watching, she did it herself before you left but it was still different because she knew if she needed it there was help.
-
“Okay now, are you ready to help me put the insulin in?” “yep,” you said and your Mum inserted the needle into the small hole on the back of the pod before allowing you to help her push it in, “good job, now, where do you want to put this? Your back, stomach or your leg?” “leg, other one arm,” your Mum nodded as she cleaned a spot on your thigh before placing some skin-glue around the area and sticking your pod on your leg, she then used her hand to squeeze your leg, “okay, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,” she counted with you as you waited for the cannula to be inserted, “it’s in, good job, you sure you still want to put that patch on,” you nodded your head, and so she stuck it down, “okay ready for the next, 3, 2, 1” she clicked the button on the applicated and the cannula inserted, however unlike usual you cried, “I’m sorry Pea, I know it doesn't normally hurt and I don’t know why it hurt, but you did such an excellent job, you’re my big strong girl. What if we watch a movie tonight in my bed and you can sleep with me,” you sadly nodded your head and after finishing your site changes she carried you through to her room.
-
“Night, night mummy,” you mumbled as you started to fall asleep, you were lying on top of her, your head resting on her chest.
“Night bubba, love you,” Alessia replied. After being at home for four days now and having done a double sight change herself Alessia felt a lot better, she knew that soon this would become second nature, she knew you were strong and you hadn’t shied away from anyone who asked any questions yet and had taken it in your stride, she honestly couldn’t be prouder of you and she would make sure you knew that. It was just you and her, still, together forever, with the addition of your mini helpers now.

CHAN:
Chan knew that there had to be something wrong, you'd been acting a little off since leaving the arcade together and now you were leaning against his car trying to steady yourself.
"You're scaring me, baby, what's going on?" He did his best not to sound freaked out as he asked you and you bit down on your lip. You'd never hid your diabetes before and you weren't sure why you'd hidden it from Chan but you just had.
"C-Can you get my bag? I need to take my Insulin," You confessed as he rushed into your bag, grabbing everything you told him to and watching you the whole time as you took your shot.
"Can I help?" He questioned when he noticed you hesitating to take the shot yourself, you looked at him and smiled weakly,
"J-Just hold me when it's done?" You questioned as he nodded his head. You thought you'd get used to the pain after all these years but it never went away. The whole time Chan watched you and waited for you to come to him when you were ready.
MINHO:
Every time you had to change your dexcom Minho was right there with you, helping in any way that he could. Including today as he handed you all of the antibacterial wipes you were going to need and then the device to help you attach your monitor.
"I got you something!" He called out as he rushed off toward the living room, slowly coming back with an envelope in his hand. There was a giant smile on his face as he pulled out the different kinds of covers that he'd bought for your Dexcom.
"You got me stickers?" You smiled brightly, looking at all of the different types before selecting the doughnut one.
"I know how you hated the plain ones and I saw these and thought of you," He stated as he carefully began to apply the sticker, making your whole body heat up as you watched him take care of you.
CHANGBIN:
"Do you have any sweets?!" Changbin asked as Felix walked into the studio, you were sitting on the sofa shaking a little as you realised your blood sugar levels were low and you had nothing to help you out.
"I think I have some jelly babies," He mumbles before rooting through the bag he was carrying and giving them to you. You smiled weakly and began to eat them as Changbin watched you closely. Ever since he'd found out about your diabetes he'd been so protective over it, usually, he'd have snacks everywhere with him but his mini-fridge broke last week which was why he was glad Felix came along.
"What happens now?" Felix asked as both of them watched you eat some of the jelly babies, you smiled a little.
"Yn will check their blood sugar levels again in about 15 minutes," Changbin explained proudly, he was very happy that he knew the ins and outs of everything since he wanted to be the one to help you.
HYUNJIN:
Ever since you'd told Hyunjin about your diabetes he'd been nothing but sweet about it. Every morning you'd wake up to breakfast in bed and if he wasn't there to make it for you when you woke up, it was already premade and just needed heating up. Not to mention at lunch he would text you to make sure you'd eaten enough or make sure you took your blood sugar if you weren't feeling like yourself.
"You know you don't have to do this right?" You questioned as you boyfriend placed the tray down on your lap,
"It's your week off, I should be making you breakfast." You finished but he shook his head at you and sat beside you in bed, both of you tucking into the delicious meal he'd made for you.
"You're supposed to be having three meals a day and if I get to make one of those meals then I will," He smiled proudly before you kissed his cheek softly, thanking him for the breakfast.
JISUNG:
Jisung had researched everything he could when it came to your diabetes, he'd wanted to be prepared if there was any time you should need him.
"Here," He told you as he handed you a glass of water and your pill tray making you groan. You'd only just opened your eyes and he was already giving you your medication.
"Can I open my eyes first?" You joked, sitting up and leaning your back against the headboard as you carefully took the tablets from his hands,
"This is me reminding you to take them," He grinned proudly and watched as you took them and then poked your tongue out at him to prove you'd taken them.
"You don't have to do this, you know? I can do it...I don't want to be a bother," You whispered knowing he knew you'd more than likely forget about taking them,
"You're not a bother, you're my partner and I like getting to care for you," He told you as you rested your head on his shoulder, smiling a little as he cuddled you close.
FELIX:
"Yn? You okay?" Felix asked as he noticed you holding your hand over your chest as you did your best to calm yourself down. You'd tested your blood sugar a few minutes ago and it was low but you had nothing on you. The boys and you were in the middle of a hike and you had no snacks or even fizzy drinks because you thought the big breakfast you'd had that morning would have been just fine.
"Yn?" Felix questioned as you leaned against a rock, your eyes shutting as you tried not to throw up.
"Here," Something cold was placed in your hand and you slowly peeled your eyes open to see a can of full-sugar Pepsi in your hand.
"I thought you said you didn't have anything!" Jisung screamed out annoyed but Felix glared at him,
"Yn needs them," Felix grumbled as you began to drink from the can and he reached through his bag for something you could eat.
SEUNGMIN:
Seungmin couldn't stand needles which was why it was confusing to you as to why he would watch you take your injection. Every. Time.
"Why do you watch if it's something that freaks you out?" You laughed as you injected yourself, biting down on your lip as you tried to ignore the pain.
"I want to be supportive," He cringed as you disregarded the needle and his whole body shivered.
"I don't know how you do it, a needle every day...You're so brave," He looked at you as you smiled shyly at him, it was just something you knew you had to do. Something that you'd gotten used to over all of the years you'd been doing this.
"I love you," He whispered before kissing you softly,
"Love you too, scaredy cat." You winked playfully before he tickled your sides.
JEONGIN:
Jeongin had been worried when you first told him about your diabetes, he was scared about not knowing how to help you so he'd spent countless nights researching until the late hours and then was tired for work the next day.
"I understand everything now." He told you as you watched him filling up the small fridge that he had inside of his bedroom.
"Oh? What do you understand?" You laughed softly as he turned to look at you,
"I will have a constant supply of sweets or sugary drinks for you. Not to mention I can carry spare insulin if you need me to." Your heart raced a little, no one had ever put that much effort in for you before.
"Innie,"
"I mean it. I'll do anything for you," He told you before kissing your cheek softly and smiling as he handed you a small packet of jelly babies.

hi 👋
may I request a reader that is a pack rat but with useful things? like they’re always ready with something in their bag to help tf141 with their needs. wether its a snack, an extra shirt, or whatever. they’re just dora with their backpack lol
and the men are always in awe bc ‘how are they always ready for any situation’?? it can be platonic or romantic but would surely love some fluff with it. please and thank you! 🥰
hello love!!! you can indeed request that!!! this is such a cute idea!!!
you suggested dora with the backpack, which is very valid, but my brain also jumps to daphne blake from scooby doo bc that girl carries a tiny ass purse and has everything under the sun and can make shit on the fly like nothing (there was one episode where she made a hydroelectric battery to power the mystery machine like it was nothing lol)
so taking both of those vibes and jumping headfirst in!!! here's a tidbit from how I think a fic with that might go!! (also I kept reader gender neutral in this one, bc you didn't specify any pronouns!)
It's finally happened, Soap is sure of it. The 141 has finally run into a situation that BP isn't gonna have the supplies for.
BP is the callsign of the team medic, which is why you could be forgiven for thinking their name is short for 'blood pressure.'
It's not.
It's short for 'backpack.'
Soap had chuckled when he first heard it, but those little chuckles quickly died when he realised his superiors were serious. All they'd say was that you were uniquely skilled at anticipating the needs of your teammates on any given mission, as well as a well-qualified and well-trained field medic and surgeon.
That first mission, everything had gone FUBAR, including the exfil being shot down, leaving the team stranded in enemy territory with their only possible transport being new black-market Humvees with remote locking systems that were thus far unbreakable. Price and Ghost had been conversing over a plan of attack when you'd simply opened up your ever present backpack and pulled out a small handheld remote. Flipping a switch, you pointed it at the nearest Humvee, and an audible click! indicated it was now unlocked.
They'd all stared for a solid minute before you coughed and said "Uh, about that exfil?" and the team jerked into action and dove for the doors of their new escape vehicle. When asked what the fuck kind of wizard tech you had, you simply shrugged and said it was a universal remote.
Soap had figured it for a one-off. He'd never been more wrong.
Ghost's balaclava gets irreparably damaged and covered in gross bodily fluids? You've got a brand new one in the exact size he needs, made from water resistant fabric.
Price's cigars get lost in (yet another) heli crash? You've got a brand new box of Maduro cigars in that backpack, the only explanation being that you'd "found them while out shopping."
Gaz loses his ball cap, and you whip out a spare without even a second glance, shoving it onto his head without a care in the world, even as he's sputtering because "how the hell do you have the same damn cap? I bought that old one years ago!"
Alejandro's iPod gets destroyed after the team has to flee through a river and all their gear gets waterlogged, and out of a Ziploc, you pull a brand new one with the headphones he likes, and he's shocked to see it's downloaded with all his favorite songs, and the default setting is currently on Spanish.
Rudy's a diabetic, and his insulin pump gets damaged in a knife fight, and not only do you have insulin for him, you have a brand new pump as well, and specific snacks that will help him hold out till he can replace the pump. It's originally brushed off that you have this because of being the team's doctor, until Rudy points out that you don't actually have access to his medical records, with him being Mexican Special Forces and you being SAS.
And Soap? Soap ran out of room in his journal one day, in the middle of trying to sketch and he hadn't realized how close he was to the end, so he hadn't brought a spare. Before he even has the chance to feel disappointed, you're slipping a brand new journal with the exact right type of paper he prefers into his hands.
It's not just personal stuff either. Any tool, gadget, gizmo, whirlygig, or thingamabob they could think of, you just... had it. Wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, lockpicks, extra mags, oil, cleaning rags, padlocks, bolt cutters, bandaids, needles, suture thread, ice packs, heat packs, gauze, hair ties, bobby pins, the list goes on and on and on.
Never, not once had there been a situation where the team had needed something that you couldn't pull from the dark, yawning pit that you called a backpack.
Except, Soap is confident that this time, you don't have what they need. You couldn't possibly have predicted this outcome.
The mission had been a comedy of errors, the team racing across the globe, bouncing between countries, hopping from continent to continent tracking the HVT Laswell had sent the lot of you after. Through a completely random turn of events, you'd ended up in the United States of all places, in the wooded areas of Washington state. It wasn't a state park, per se, but close enough. Supposedly, there was a cache here that the HVT frequented, and might have valuable intel.
Unfortunately, your way had been blocked by some State Park Rangers, who demanded that you either provide proof of registration that allowed you to be there, or the team had to leave.
Of course, being members of the SAS and Fuerzas Especiales, who operated out of Europe and Mexico respectively, the likelihood of any of them having the right paperwork was infinitesimal.
"Hold on!"
Soap whirled around at the sound of your voice. There you were, rummaging through your backpack.
"No fuckin' way," Gaz whispered, the rest of the team going deathly still.
There was absolutely, positively, no possible way on God's green Earth that you were gonna–
"Found it!"
You let out a whoop of excitement, pulling a small rectangular piece of plastic from your bag, a hole through the top indicating that it might go in a car, hanging from the rearview mirror.
"Here's our permit for the Washington State Parks and Forestry. Just renewed it, too."
The Rangers took it sceptically, but their faces cleared as they looked it over.
"Everything seems to be in order then, ma'am. Sorry for the delay and confusion."
"No problem!" You chirped, ignorant of the dumbfounded stares at your back. "Have a good day, gentlemen!"
Soap felt dizzy. He felt weak. He might actually collapse here on the spot from pure confusion alone. He could faintly hear Gaz muttering behind him, and in his peripheral vision, Alejandro was shaking with silent laughter, and Rudy looked like he'd just been handed the answers to the universe's greatest mysteries.
This had to be a dream. Soap refused to accept reality otherwise.
The Rangers left, and there was a heavy, oppressive silence that settled over the team. BP turned to look at everyone with a smile on their face, only for it to fall when they saw the stunned, blank looks their teammates wore.
"What's wrong?"
Bless 'em, they sounded so confused, but Soap really had no way to express just what he or any of the others were feeling in this moment.
As BP's face fell further, Price surged forward and scooped their medic and resident pack rat into a hug. They let out a small eep! at the sudden constricting pressure around their ribs. It was difficult to hug with tac vests on, but Price was determined.
"C-Captain? Are you alright?"
"Never change, soldier," Price said gruffly, and Soap could hear the disbelieving grin in his CO's voice. "Never fuckin' change."

Genie from Cats In Need in Yorba Linda, California
Click here for more information about adoption and other ways to help!
Click here for a link to Cats In Need's main website.
Meet beautiful Genie! "Senior seeking Senior"
Genie is ready to grant her new family three wishes: companionship, playfulness, and love
Genie is the perfect companion cat for someone seeking a pleasant, laid-back, friendly kitty
She is an 8-year-old white & tabby stunner with enormous green eyes, who is seeking a soft, snuggly home to spend her twilight years in
Genie would love a home where she could get a lot of human attention and love. She loves to be near you and especially likes to sleep in your bed next to you and sleep with you on the couch
Genie was initially adopted by a college student who returned her after their schooling as done and they had to move home. Her next owner passed away after 5 years. Genie is overdue to find her forever home where she'll receive lots of unconditional love in her twilight years
She's a great companion cat and would make the perfect kitty for someone seeking a little old lady to chat with and offer unconditional love to
Genie does have diabetes and she gets an insulin shot twice a day and is an excellent patient! Her initial supply of insulin and all equipment will be provided at adoption, as well as instructions on how to administer her insulin- it's a piece of cake! Cats in Need can also help support with the cost of future insulin supplies if needed
Genie had a past issue with her gums so she had to have her teeth removed. Her mouth is now in great shape (albeit missing teeth haha!) and all this means now is that Genie enjoys wet cat food best!
Because of her diabetes, the adoption donation will be $1 for the perfect home for little Genie
We think Genie would be an excellent companion Kitty for a Senior or pair of Seniors looking for a sweet, easy-going kitty to take care of and offer some sweetness and purpose to their days
Genie prefers to be the only spoiled animal in the home and because she prefers a quiet home she would not be well suited to young children

Sweet Nothings - OM Beelzebub and a Diabetic MC
Listen this is one of the most self-indulgent pieces I've ever written and I'm not ashamed of it. There's no way I'm the only diabetic simp in this community lol
This was meant to be part of a bigger series but I got carried away and made it it's own piece. So, sneak peak for future works I guess.
For my non diabetics out there, the thing that the human has on their arm is a CGM - continuous glucose monitor. It's exactly what it sounds like, a little sensor you stick in your arm so you can keep a constant eye on your levels.
-----
“What’s that?”
The human glanced up at Beelzebub from across the table the two of them were sitting at. A new restaurant had just opened up in the heart of the Devildom, and the owner had invited Beel to come on the grand opening day as a PR move. Beel, in turn, had invited the human to come along with him as his date.
“What’s what?” they asked. Beel inclined his head towards where they were holding the back of their phone against their shoulder.
“The thing on your arm.”
“Oh,” the human pulled their phone away and glanced at it. “I’m just checking my blood sugar. This thing is so much better than having to prick my finger all the time.”
Beel looked even more confused. “I don’t understand. Humans have to check their blood?”
“Not all of us,” the human muttered, frowning at their phone. From the angle they had it, Beel couldn’t see exactly what it said, but the screen was a vibrant orange color. “I knew I felt gross. No dessert for me, I guess.”
“Why not?”
“Sugar’s high,” the human shrugged. Now that he thought about it, the human did look a little weak and pale. They reached into the little bag that they always carried with them and pulled out a pen. They uncapped it, spun the little dial on top, and Beel watched in shock as they lifted up their shirt and jabbed the needle into their abdomen.
“You have to give yourself a shot?”
“Five times a day,” they recapped the pen and slipped it back into their bag. “Kind of sucks, but it beats the alternative.”
“What’s the alternative?” Beel asked. He had completely given up on looking at the menu in favor of staring at the human in abject horror.
“Shakiness, going blind, organ failure,” they shrugged again. “Honestly, I try not to think about it too much.”
Beel’s eyes were as wide as the plates that their appetizers had been served on. “So you can’t eat sweets?”
“I can, just not a lot, and I have to be careful,” they shrugged. “Not tonight, though.”
Right then, the waiter returned to take their order, looking anxious. Word had probably spread about Beel’s notorious appetite, but he was also known as a generous tipper, so likely the server didn’t quite know how to feel about this one. About half-way through Beel’s order, the human saw the poor demon roll their wrist to alleviate some pressure.
“...That should be enough, right?” Beel muttered to himself before turning to the human. “Sorry, I ordered without asking if you were ready.”
The color seemed to drain from the server’s face and they hurried flipped over to a new page. The human resisted the urge to laugh.
“I’ll have…” they trailed their finger down the menu and stopped about a third or the way down. “That one, please.”
The server looked relieved and scribbled down the order before dashing off, likely afraid that Beel would tack more on to the order if they stayed around for too long.
“So, wait,” Beel started, looking thoughtful. “Why can’t you have sugar? Are you allergic?”
“...Honestly, not a bad way to put it, but not technically.” the human replied. “So human’s need to eat food to get energy to do things, right?”
Beel nodded.
“So insulin is the hormone that lets the energy from the food get from the blood into the cells. I have a disease called diabetes, which means my body doesn’t make that hormone. They can make it artificially, which is that shot that you just saw me give myself.”
“Where do they get it?” Beel asked, eyeing the server as they walked past them carrying someone else’s order. “Do other humans donate it like blood?”
“Y’know, that is a great question for Google when we get home.”
The server appeared beside them. “Would you like some more water?”
“Oh, yes, thank you,” the human smiled, scooting out of the way so the server could refill their glass. When they turned around to leave, however, Beel called out.
“Excuse me, sir?”
The server flinched before turning around and acknowledging Beel with a very tight smile. “Yes?”
Beel reached over to where he had tucked the dessert menu. “We won’t need this, sorry.”
The human raised their eyebrows. “Beel, you can have dessert.”
Beel shook his head as the server dutifully tucked the menu under their arm and darted back into the kitchen. “It wouldn’t be fair for me to have dessert if you can’t. We’ll just go out for ice cream when you feel better.”

Takuto Maruki Helping a Reader with Trypanophobia
Because I need self-indulgent Maruki content. Plus, he's located near the nurses office so in my brain this kinda makes sense...? Platonic btw ofc.
TW: Needles/Trypanophobia, Anxiety/Fear, Medications
💉 I can see him having to deal with something like this relatively often. He's stationed right outside of the nurse's office and there has to be SOME student who needs medication during the school hours, especially if it is something like insulin shots needed before or after meals to regulate blood sugar levels. A lot of the time, students will go to the school nurse for support while taking these injections.
💉 So, due to him and the nurse sharing a space, they have created a little system. When Maruki goes on break, the nurse shows up to set up their things while Maruki packs his snacks and leaves. Then, when he returns, the nurse packs their things to leave as Maruki sets up his snacks and such, moving their smaller equipment to a different room. That way, patient confidentiality is kept safe while nurse care can still be provided adequately. Theoretically, the nurse could just move to another room, but there is so much equipment needed that would be difficult to set up somewhere else, like beds and such, so this system is the best they got. If an emergency happens that requires bigger equipment like beds while Maruki is present in the nurse's office, Maruki will move to a smaller room to continue work.
💉 So, during the small amount of time where both Maruki and the nurse are in the office together is the most likely time where he would learn about you and your problem with needles. Due to your problem being a mixture of physical (needing the medication provided by the medication) and psychological (the immense fear of needles and, by extension, injections), the nurse may end up asking Maruki if he would help with your situation. Of course, they'd probably ask you if you were comfortable allowing Maruki to help, too. The first step that the three of you decide will help is allowing Maruki to watch you having medication administered.
💉 That starts your journey with Maruki. They set up a time for Maruki to observe your reactions to getting an injection. Walking in, he most likely expects the "usual" reactions from someone with needle anxiety. "Usual" meaning simply jerking away and whimpering. That's the most common thing he's seen and heard of, after all. He's only really heard of passing out and other more extreme reactions happening during blood draws, which well... involve blood, a different fear on it's own.
💉 Needless to say, when you walk in looking calm, he's still expecting a more relaxed reaction. He asks you a few questions about how you feel before the injection, with you giving short responses like "anxious", "scared", or "I hate this".
💉 Then you end up sitting on the bed in the nurse's office, and EVERYTHING changes. The nurse simply walks over to you, and now you're muttering things like "I'm going to die of my god someone HELP..." Only for it to get worse once the injection is being set up, then it being ready. Now you're flailing and screaming in pure panic.
💉 The nurse isn't any help, either, as they say simple phrases like "Just think about how it's going to help you!" In response to you screaming out things like "I FEEL LIKE I CAN'T BREATHE! Like I can but I CAN'T!" Overall, it's an absolute horror show that Maruki was NOT prepared for. He might even end up screaming in pure shock from you screaming. He just didn't expect anything close to this.
💉 He end up breaking out of his shock for a moment, which is enough for him to go to your side and hold his hand out for you to hold onto. You latch onto it harder that he expected. He starts talking, trying to distract you, which ends up in the most awkward conversation ever.
💉 "Are you okay, (L/N)?" "OH GOD I'M GOING TO DIE! SOMEONE SAVE ME!" "O-oh... I'm here for you! Just focus on our conversation!" "OKAY THANK YOU!!!" "Stay still while we talk, alright?" "PLEASE SAVE ME!!!" "I'm right here, okay? Just focus on me-!"
💉 Then you end up letting out the most bloodcurdling scream as the nurse seizes the opportunity to inject you. You then grow silent, like a deer in headlights. He's completely shocked into silence from that quick switch from loud screaming and flailing, to a completely still and silent demeanor.
💉 Once it is said and done, he watches as you sit up, look around, then say "Oh... that wasn't so bad!" Only for the nurse to laugh and say "You say that everytime! To be fair, this round went better than usual!" That... that whole reaction... this time was BETTER than usual? What are you like every other time?!
💉 As you walk away, Maruki ends up stopping you quickly, asking you if you want to have a counseling session with him to talk about your experiences with your needle... anxiety? Fear? Absolute horror? He just wants to help! Seeing that whole situation was absolutely painful, so being in it must be so much worse.
💉 Depending on the type of person you are, you may answer yes or no. If it's no, then he won't push you, instead just saying that the offer is always open and reminding you that he will only be at the school for a short time.
💉 If you do say yes, however, he will work with you to find a good time for an appointment with him depending on your schedule. During your appointments, it may start off with random topics to make sure you are comfortable, then slowly go into the main reason you are there: your fear of needles.
💉 He'll start with the obvious questions. What about needles scare you? Do you have any trauma surrounding needles? Do you have anything that you know of that helps you cope with this fear? Then, he'll discuss things he believes might help. Something interesting is how he uses his experience watching your reactions to the injection in his discussion. One main thing he seems to believe is that, for you, you need a very individualized solution. The basic strategies do not seem to be working for you.
💉 As more and more sessions occur, the questions start becoming a bit more odd. If you could, would you rather not need the medication? If you would rather keep needing the medication, why? What would you want to help you? You are unsure of what his questions have to do with your treatment exactly, but you answer them as well as you can.
💉 Overall, he is determined to help you, much like he is with everybody else. He isn't going to give up, no matter what.

Liveblogging the fascinating (not) family reunion weekend I am merely serving as the getaway driver for:
We're in Asheville, NC, which is absolutely beautiful, with mountains surrounding even the aggressively suburban area where we're staying; I've been once before, but we really only stopped for coffee and a short walk in the downtown area then; we're from Atlanta, so this was a nearly four hour drive for us
We've had to bring one of our three cats along, bc she gets insulin injections twice a day, and that was more than what our friends were really comfortable doing; the hotel technically only allows dogs, but the desk agent said they'd look the other way this once
The family that is reunioning belongs to my roommate, B; B and I have known each other for close to ten years now, and lived together for... three years or so now? and B isn't comfortable with driving more than about 30 minutes to places they're already familiar with, hence my involvement both as chauffeur and, genuinely, get away driver if things don't go well
B is related to these people via their dad, who is dead, and they're glad he's dead; he was also persona non grata among these people when he was alive, not just for his personality but also bc he did things like drink and be poor, which are equally unacceptable to these people
We got off to a rough start, with a flat tire of course appearing overnight, but we still got here in time to get the cat settled in the room before dinner, and on the whole it was a fine drive with me pointing at mountains and rocks and otherwise turning into my mom
We did only just get settled in at the hotel before driving to dinner, which was going to be at Olive Garden until it was discovered that the wait time there for a group our size was nearly two hours, so we popped across the street to a place called "Cornerstone", which has a mix of basically all American cuisine with servings the size of your head
B rode over with their aunt, who sends B paper coupons in the mail and suggested we simply leave the cat in the car the whole weekend!
...yeah
Once here, they sat all the spouses at a separate table, which was smaller so I got to sit at the table with the "siblings", all of whom are in their 50's; this split has resulted in much walking back and forth to decide what everyone was splitting with each other, the way that most people that have been married for a couple decades do
Of course, this means that the four people who know each other the least and only have someone else's family in common must now make conversation for over an hour, but they do have the benefit of having been dragged along to these for, again, decades
The other people at the "blood related" table are one uncle's Dominican wife who is half his age and her middle school aged son from a previous relationship, both of whom moved here only two years ago; the wife is lovely but doesn't speak or understand much English, and we can't speak or understand much Spanish, which has been her entire life since she moved to America
I know three people's names: coupon aunt, her husband, and the uncle with the ethically dubious relationship; I think they are also the only people who know my name... maybe
The previous family reunion that B attended (missing the one that was held on a cruise ship 😬) included the aunts and uncles and the cousins B's age repeatedly not telling them plans in time for them to get ready, and then straight up leaving them behind, for things ranging from hikes to entire meals; hence, my involvement: if B runs behind bc of these people not communicating, I'll just drive them wherever they need to be, and if they start acting like assholes (which they have also done in the past), then we'll pop the beast back in her carrier and head home!
Of course, they also managed to make dinner conflict with the demon beast's shot (8 and 8, always), so I simply asked for boxes with my meal at dinner, ate the tastiest bits at the table, and then wrapped the rest up and brought it back to the hotel with me to administer the shot on time, which is a win to me bc I got to skip all the awkward conversations!
(The fuzzy piss machine wasn't too keen on the hotel room and all its smells at first, but she's since discovered that leaping from bed to bed is the most fun she's had in ages, plus she got fed at the usual time, so perhaps this okay after all.)
We're here until Sunday (it's Thursday night now), so we'll see how the rest of the reunion goes

Yes, I am back now. In A LOT of pain. I'm a left handed driver, but I couldn't. & turned my head to look out bad too. Doc pressing on pressure points. Grimace.
I believe in acupuncture & acupressure, just not using apex predators for "remedies."🤨🙄🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️
Holistic medicine is the only thing that's gonna really work for me.
Allergic to too much big pharma crap. I mean come on, fillers in insulin. Wtf. I took 4 of those shots. Huge welts on my inner thighs for a week before the hard knots dissipated. My body just does not like the junk that's coming outta r&d these days. Trying to expand foods & meds with GMOs. Kills.
So yes I will NEVER have those "vaccines."
Not when a 1st level family member had 2 EpiPen & was hospitalized. Nope.
I really wanna root cellar/seed vault/live more naturally.
I believe it's possible to do that, & use technology. Without compromising ideals, or health.
But to heck with GMOs & big pharma!
Blushing shyly grin peeking.
Yeah.. I'm kinda cranky.
I need... you..... then whirlpool/hot tub, suds & then relax.
I need to float. Since it's my head & neck to feet. [Bone spurs, arthritis & hip joints/pelvis?.]
I need to read the MRI orders.
Myial fascia release would be good right about now. But my hands are hurting too. Sigh.
Drooping tail.
Ok. Gonna hydrate, slowly do chores & sit. Check carvana again. Find my gumption. & just do it already!
Blushing beet red bowing head.
I want in your arms so bad I'm salivating.
Yours.....

————————————————————————
It had been a perfect day spent with your boyfriend, JJ. It had been a long time since you two had been able to have a day where you guys could just relax together, just the two of you, considering all the drama thats surrounded your friend group recently. You had, admittedly, spent most of the day tangled up in the sheets of his bed, leaving only to go get food in town. You were aware that to most people, it may seem like a boring, wasted day. For you and JJ though, it was truly perfect. There was one problem, though.
It was getting late.
You groaned as you curled yourself against him more. “I should probably start driving home soon.”
“No.” He says as he tightens his grip on you.
“J, I have work in the morning.” You say while trying to hold back a giggle.
“Just stay,” he nuzzles his face into your neck, placing a soft kiss against your skin, “you have extra clothes here for work, so just stay with me.”
You considered letting him keep trying to convince you, but honestly, you were so tired, and so content laying there with him. So, instead, you just nodded and a yawn escapes.
“Okay, I’ll stay,” you say, smiling as a satisfied hum comes from him, “but you have to help me with my insulin shot before we can go to sleep.”
He drags himself to a sitting up position, nodding as he says “Okay, get up.”
You move off the bed, going to get the syringe ready for him. “You aren’t nervous about stabbing me?”
“Y/N, I’ve seen like, 3 episodes of Greys Anatomy. I’m more than qualified for this. I could give you open heart surgery if needed.”
“Yes, of course you could, J.” You say through a giggle, making your way back to him and handing him the syringe. You explained to him what to do, despite his obviously extensive knowledge on everything medical related from those 3 episodes, and lower your shorts for him as you turn around.
“Did I ever tell you about the time I broke my arm?” He randomly asks you as he begins cleaning the area with the alcohol wipe you gave him.
“Uhm, no? I don’t believe you did.”
“It was when I was 10. I had told John B that I could jump from my roof to the tree next to it, and he said there was no way I could. Naturally, I had to prove him wrong.” He tosses the wipe into the garbage next to the bed and picks the syringe up.
“Naturally.” You repeat, rolling your eyes, though letting a small laugh come out. “Guessing you didn’t make it?”
“Oh no, I made it. The issue was staying on the tree once I did.” You feel the needle go in, but he keeps talking. “I managed to grab a branch on the way down, but not for long. Hit the ground.” He pushed the plunger down, sending the liquid into your skin. “John B was freaking out. Of course I kept saying I was fine, even though I was crying and my arm was very clearly broke.” He takes the needle out, and places a small bandaid on the area, and then places a small kiss on top of it before pulling your shorts back up.
You turn to face him. “Well, I’m glad nothing worse happened.” You softly kiss his lips before climbing back into bed, him following right behind you, pulling you right into his arms. “You know, you don’t have to try to distract me when giving the shot. I have to do it every day, I’m more than used to it.”
He sighs, placing a kiss on your head. “I know, babe. But used to it or not, shots hurt. And I don’t want you to be in pain.”
“You’re amazing, J.” You say, snuggling up closer to him. Another yawn escapes you, and he leans over to turn off the lamp.
“Yeah, yeah, okay. Go to sleep, y/n.”
“Love you.” You say through yet another yawn.
“Love you too.”

Hello, I hope that you are having a good day! I was wondering if you would be alright with perhaps writing something small for Loki with a reader who has Type 1 Diabetes and when they have a low blood sugar they shake and look really ill etc. and they feel as though they are going to faint and they always get very scared when they have a low blood sugar and so they start crying when they get one and just how Loki would react...?
I totally understand that a lot of people do not have this and so you may not be interested but if you are I would be very grateful <3 (I have Type 1 Diabetes and I am curious as to how Loki would react. Though I do not cry when I get low blood sugars... Alright I should stop oversharing.)
Thank you so much. I adore your writing and I think you are very talented <3
Also excuse the way I talk, I have been told that I text and talk like I am a god that has been banished to Midgard - I think I've been reading far too many classics.
Oh please I love the way you text, makes you seem like royalty, and it’s ok I’ve written about Diabetes before and my mom has it too, Plus I myself have low blood pressure issues so i understand to a level
Training early in the morning always helped you get ready in the morning and Loki was kind enough to keep you company while everyone was still not up.
"Stay still!"
"That defeats the purpose of this training my dear!" You missed him again.
Not only was Loki tall and big, he was fast, landing a hit on him takes skill.
During these trainings he wouldn’t use magic and boy did he put his all into it as well, you guess going on wars since childhood helped.
You went back into your punching stand but as you were about to throw your punch, your head started to bang.
Your fists dropped and you gripped your head as your vision become blurry.
Your feet gave up quickly and you fell to your knees, you could hear Loki’s voice calling out to you.
"Hey hey!" Loki went down on his knees stopping your head from hitting the ground, you were shaking in his arms.
You hugged yourself, tears rolled down on your cheeks, fear getting the best of you.
Loki lifted you up and carried to where your bag was, where he knows you carry your insulin shots.
He’ll lay his hand on your forehead, dropping the temperature in it to at least keep you awake.
"I got you, I got you"
When he finally got the shot out he removed his hand and twisted the bottom to the level you usually take then placed the needle in.
He lifted your shirt, exposing your stomach, he didn’t have time to clean the area so he just injected you with it right away, pushing down on the bottom until it was all inside of you.
Then he covered you back and looked in your back for anything edible for you to eat.
He watched your eyes open and close.
"Come on, open your mouth I got you something sweet" he sat behind your head and prep it on his lap.
"Good job" he said, watching you carefully chew the piece of chocolate he placed in your mouth.
A part of you was thankful you had informed him about your situation earlier on, and now it was proven that you trust him with your life for real.
