Does anybody else live with a subconscious fear that people secretly hate you? Like I know I'm not totally alone on this i just wonder how common it is

I noticed that my most of my mutuals don't like when I post stuff here that ain't fandom related. I get 4-6 notes when I post a sketch or drawing that's just a person. If I post a pencil drawing, but it's Arcane or Hazbinhotel I get 30-75 notes. I know I shouldn't chase likes, but draw for my own sake, but at the same time it's an indicator on what people who follow my blog wish to see here. I can post my daily practice sketch/drawing on the sketch community instead, or open a sideblog for that. But then I won't post that often. The drawing of Sevika or Isha f.ex took me like over 3 hours each to draw. Since I have a pretty bad case of adhd I can only focus on the same thing for 30 minutes straight, so 3½ hours of drawing is one week in practice. I can take a break and continue with another drawing after an hour or so, but that means I could post two times a week. The weird thing is, that even if I don't get any likes directly (yeah @bubbles077 @thegreatbluecat72 @jrrnlls and @alex-the-fallen-angel-0 likes everything I do:���) I've gotten 50 new followers since I started to post "practice of the day". So obviously some people likes to watch it, but they dont want anybody to know about it. I thought it could be interesting to see what difference that makes in the long run, if someone makes a habit of drawing every day, how much better I would become after 3 months, 6 months, a year? I notice that even if the drawing course doesn't have anything to do with Hazbinhotel or Arcane drawing, it has had an impact on all my drawings.

Yeah, I'm just rambling. I'm going to start a drawing of Jinx in the "monster-hood" today. I must be the only Jinxlover that haven't drawn my version of that icon picture. I have also found real cool concept sketches by Vivziepop of hellinhabitants she did when she was planning to add a hell part to Zoothropia. There are some really cool concept sketches of characters that didn't show up until Hazbinhotel, very different concepts but very cool and immediately recognizable. I'm going to do some redraw of my favorites. (redraw=nicer way to say copy.) I'll see if you start to like me again then.🥺 Don't forget, my dudes, dudettes and everyone somewhere on the scale, that I am a pretty sensetive and insecure guy, so sometimes I need some confirmation.

whoo this'l be fun. Technically pretty much every OC has their own individual post on @vermakesthings, but thats more focused on worldbuilding than on the OC's- things like their positions and stuff. I don't think I mentioned anything about any of their personalities on that blog ever.

I have like 13 OCs and while some aren't fully thought out I do have like 7 that I could ramble about and that would take fucking forever so for today wheelofnames.com and we get 3.

Won't talk about any of the extremely important stuff about the characters, like their limbos if they are Thrinnu or their arcs and stuff- thats all explained in their own post on @vermakesthings

first though I have two species for the worldbuilding project. One of them is just humans (called "Mornnu") and the other is Mennu.

Don't know what a Mennu looks like? Take a human, make their shoulders a bit slimmer and hips a bit wider on average, make their head a bit bigger, and cover them in very, very deep purple fur. Almost black fur. Now make their mouths like 1.5x as big as a humans and their eyes 1.25x as far apart. Thats a Mennu.

also incase you know nothing from my sideblog, Thrinnu are the creators and true rulers of the world, the Lyradonnus are the regent royal family they had while they were stuck in their limbos.

No parents aside from perhaps the primordial void. No, thats not an exaggeration.

aro/ace and cisgender. Not that those words exist in world, this is a fantasy setting, but you get the point.

Very, very basic rundown of role: Master of the earth element, one of the four creators of the world, his domain is over the earth itself: he designed the mountains and the canyons, the landmasses and the caves. He maintains his control ofc and manages earthquakes and other necessary things.

He is also the most massive fucking troll to ever live, somehow outshining both Axel Lyradonnu and his sister, Freya Thrinnu, which is genuinely impressive. He isn't known as the most massive troll to ever live though, just a bit of a troll, as almost everything he does is anonymous. He does not get through a single day without annoying somebody, but they usually think he does something like once a month. From tying hair together, dying hair, and keptchup bottle replaced with hotsauce all the way to things like Eris' "to the fairest" golden apple from Greek Mythology. He did something like that except it was with a bueatiful (hand crafted) diamond, and thrown into a room of Lords of the Mark (if you ask what that is be prepared for politics) of the southern realms. Two people died there. Still no one knows who threw the damned thing.

Likes: trolling, singing, caves, rocks, trolling, spending time with his family, meeting new people, alcohol, playing with is nephew/niece, did I mention trolling people?

Dislikes: Dancing, flying, public appearances (he's a litereral king), speeches from him or anyone else, worship, and anyone thinking their position of power makes them entitled.

Averon & Unvurion Lilinu Lyradonnu Thrinnu

Siblings, children of Freya Thrinnu and Liam Lyradonnu.

Averon is transfem, Unvurion is transmasc.

these two are interesting. There is a method of revival in my world, but for thousands of years it was shut off. Averon died as an infant some 400 years into the Dark Ages. Unvurion was born about a year into the Second Blessed Years. Averon was revived from death two weeks later. So depending on who you ask, they are either 4500 years apart or two weeks apart.

These two are inseperable. There was exactly one documented case of them arguing after they turned 10, which was when they were coming out as trans: Unvurion was scared to and Averon thought he was being stupid. The only other disagreements they have had are solved civilly and within minutes. It did help that, especially due to who their parents are, they pretty much never had to share any thing outside of when their parents were intentionally teaching them to do so, so they never had anything to fight over.

They aren't really trolls at all, though they are known to be an unstoppable force of karma. Their family and friends they are nothing but kind to, little pranking, but heres an example of the opposite: a few lords of the mark were visiting the palace of the sun for a meeting with the Thrinnu. They were by this point only teenagers and were thus not present, though they did listen to the entire thing (with their parents approval). After the meeting, the dignitaries were leaving to their private guest quarters. They thought the teens were away at the time visiting extended family, though in truth the kids were hiding behind a pillar.

A plot was formed with all the entire services of the palace. The launderers were especially involved in this, though not alone. Everyone collectively agreed that these dignitaries needed to have as terrible a stay as physically possible.

Their clothes went unwashed- problem with the faucets, you see. Totally coincidental with their rooms not being kept, or at times kept wrongly; the roomkeepers- all of the ones for these dignitaries, that is- had all had a late night and thus were commonly making mistakes or forgetting things that day. You get the idea.

This continued for a whole day before they finally got to speak with the Thrinnu to complain. The Thrinnu brought people from all over the palace to a common area to ask what the fuck was happenning, and all of them simply collectively turned their heads to Averon and Unvurion.

The dignitaries had been saying things like "so rushed, it is as if they have no care for formality" and "she should never have married him" etc. about the Thrinnu. They were also commenting on how Averon and Unvurion's parents were supportive of them being transgender, specifically calling it unnatural.

The kids of course told their parents directly. The way they convinced all the staff to join in on this was infact that they swore to take the fall fully and fess up as if they soley were responsible. Not that they were punished, of course; this was actually celebrated, though they were told to simply tell the Thrinnu next time about what was said.

The Thrinnu ofc went to the next day's meeting with the dignitaries and adressed their concerns- by telling them to their faces the word for word qoutes that they had been saying, and promptly informing them all of their removal from office effective immediately.

Wonderful force of karma.

Bit of backstory: this world originally started as an Undertale fanfic. Years ago, I added an OC to a little fanfic in my head about Undertale.

Over time, the fanfic grew. I kept adding more worldbuilding. Eventually I threw in Doctor Who as well. From there changed it to more a fantasy setting, adding new characters and trimming old ones.

Liam is the literal only character that has survived all those revisions. He was the one I added in when it was an Undertale fanfic, and he was the only one that has not been cut out. He's my favorite OC. (if you know undertale, his role in the og fanfic was Frisk's brother, btw).

He is deeply intelligent and knowledgeable. During the Dark Ages he was actually the greatest loremaster the world had, without exception. Even during the Second Blessed Years he still knows a lot more about everyone than most people think, though he does try not to abuse this and he doesn't make it extremely obvious. He knows it all, but he's not a know it all. He is extremely smug when given even the slightest reason to be. He gets into fights a lot, mostly friendly duels though.

If you need to cheer him up, mention his wife, Freya. Assuming Second Blessed Years, anyways. He is even after literal centuries still head over heels with her (she is with him, but less obvious). He considers himself pretty much the luckiest man alive to have found her. Raising his children with her was the greatest joy he'd had since their marriage.

He is a Lilinu, of course, which automatically makes him a smith (the joke is that the forge runs in the blood; EVERYONE of that descent is a smith at least part time. The oldest of that house are the two greatest smiths in the world, so they probably aren't wrong). His first romantic gifts for Freya were forged by hand over the course of a week.

In this world, souls are an actual thing: people don't have brains. Their head is a house for the soul, a magical thing. As such, mental disorders don't map 1f1 with real world disorders. None of my characters suffer from any disorder in real life.

When Liam gets overstimulated and nervous, he will usually go quiet and tense, even over telepathic communication he is only capable of sending a vague sense of his emotions instead of words. A quiet place and not too many people (usually just one or two members of his direct family) is the best place for him to calm down. If it gets worse it may reach the point he passes out, in which case he will be out for ~15 hours on average. When he wakes up he will still be unwell for a while.

Likes: Singing, Dancing, partying, littererly anything with caffeine, spending time with family and friends, and smithing.

Dislikes: Alcohol, dealing with idiots, idiots having any kind of power, entitlement, worship, and any insults to his family. That last one is true of any character I've made, really, but it bears mentioning for Liam do to the extremeness of it. He will ruin your life if you say something about his family (or he would, except that his family doesn't want him to.)

Mermaids don't exist. Every agent of the Coven, the organization that researches and governs the supernatural community, knows that. Accepting a classified assignment to investigate sightings along the Broken Coast is just an easy paycheck as far as Isaac Soto is concerned (not to mention another way to avoid dealing with his trauma and relationship issues).

A chance meeting with a charming stranger in a roadside diner changes not only the course of Isaac's assignment but the trajectory of his life. A life now in danger of being cut short unless he figures out how to escape the bloodborn who takes him hostage, a necromancer out to kill both of them, and the corruption at the heart of the organization he thought he believed in.

@drunkchasind Whenever I shoot in this orange light I think of your gorgeous VP so I kinda figured you'd like it - it is heavily inspired by your work as well!

@wraithsoutlaws I've said it before and I will probably say it again - the natural thing is what I am (usually) going for in my VP. I do like stylized, conceptualized VP as well, but my fav thing to do is making them come to life in a very naturalistic way, finding moments in between movements that make sense. In this set especially I loved the progression of their movement together and how flustered Vinnie is in the first pic which is a rare sight.

@tafferling you apparently got the vibe I was going for with this. I tend to photograph Vinnie smiley and sexy and enticing but he can be an intimidating and dangerous presence. Just imagine this dude coming at you, very calmly, standing at 6"6 and tellling you to calm down. And you don't see any weapons (yet).

@humberg I am so glad you're back and I love when I get tagged like this! EXCUSE YOU! hahahaha - another example of the tags on this post that were all so supportive of the edits -> I usually barely edit my pics because I never know, what to edit. I've talked to other VPers about this and we did edit exchanges at some points and it's interesting to see how others handle my material. I still gotta post some I got from @dustymagpie that turned out amazing and completely different from what I usually do!

@juststayquiete I LOVE YOU FOR SCREAMING IN MY TAGS!!! and yes, I dare say myself that this was a really cool idea! And imaginary (her name will change) already might have met Macha and Vinnie. And old space movie vibes is what I was going for. I love the mechanical space ships (think "Aliens") -> I prefer them over the Space X clean look any day!

Edited Feb 24/24: I have some new followers because apparently when you make an easily digestible silly post and schedule it for 20 minutes after an episode drop, it gets around.

Like it says in my bio, I'm "old as balls," a phrase which here means "was working a 9-5 by the time Kate Beaton's Gatsby comic with the phrase 'old as balls' was posted in 2010 and became an inextricable part of my vernacular." I mention this for other people's comfort and awareness.

Other important demographic information: I'm queer. I'm chronically ill. I'm a white Canadian. I won't tell you the Treaty area I live in, but I know what it is, and whose land I live on.

I made this sideblog as a containment zone for what has been the defining fannish interest of my last 4+ years. I like a lot of things but what you'll find here is Magnus. I write fic basically once every year or two. (ao3: pinehutch. Includes E-rated fic, mind how you go.) I write poetry and original work more often, but not professionally.

Fundamentally I take kindness, decency, and liberation very seriously, and am silly about most of the rest.

Hello Everyone!

Welcome and Re-Welcome to To Daydream Believers!!

I know the blog has been around forever, but with the influx of new people I thought I'd refresh the blog and welcome everyone again! I've been wanting to give the blog a facelift for a while, and it seems now is as good a time as any to reintroduce and reinvigorate the blog.

What is TDBFic?

I originally started the blog as the fanfiction reblogging sideblog to my original Glee/Klaine rewatch, fun&games, and podcasting blog - @todaydreambelievers. TDB isn't being run any more, but I've always maintained that as long as there is interest - I'd keep the blog going.

The intention of the blog was to be a safe space where fans of Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson could read works (about them individually or as a couple) without fear of running into bashing of either character. It was also meant to be a community blog where anyone could choose to participate on their own terms.

Becoming a Member -

Whether you're an author who would like a place to showcase their works or just a fan who'd like to recommend their favorite fics, anyone is allowed to be a member. All you need to do is shoot me -- @spaceorphan18 -- a message, and I'll make you a member. All I ask is that you follow (my relatively few) guidelines.

Also - even if you become a member, there's no obligation to reblog content, but the option is always open!

Guidelines -

So what are the guidelines?

All fanworks must be Kurt Hummel friendly and Blaine Anderson friendly. While that doesn't mean bad things can't happen to them - it does mean that a fan of either character can read a work and not feel like their favorite character is being intentionally bashed.

Be respectful of other users.

A couple of smaller items such as - please reblog, don't post and don't spam. Some basic common curtesy things.

That's really it. I'll have some more details on a main page when I get that up. But really, it boils down to play nice.

What about tagging?

You don't have to tag - but it is encouraged so people can find your works if they click on one of our links. I'm working on cleaning up the tagging page so that the tagging system is clear and easy to use.

What about all the old stuff?

It's not going anywhere - though please bear with me as I try to clean up the main page. You should be able to find all of the old content, as I don't plan on taking anything down.

Why yes! I have some ideas for ways to keep the activity up on the blog...

Author Spotlights -- Every week we would highlight a author or artist - featuring their works on the blog. I'd like to do this again! I'll get more details out soon - but anyone is welcome to participate, even if they've done it already!

Prompts & Tropes -- I'm not sure how I'd like to implement these, but I thought it'd be fun if we occasionally did prompts or trope weeks to inspire you to create new things.

Events -- We haven't been event heavy, but @snarkyhag and I are already thinking of something fun to do for this summer!

Polls -- Okay, so this isn't entirely creation focused, but back in the day, TDB did polls every Tuesday. Now that tumblr has a fun, new polling system, I thought I'd bring these back - because why not?

I try to but I always get really busy/tired and then it's been so long it feels like it would be weird if I did. Plus, sometimes my answers by nature of the comments can get repetitive and then even though I'm being sincere I feel insincere which sucks. However, if a comment has a direct question or something I actually have like, something unique to say about, I'm much more likely to respond sooner rather than later/never. I appreciate every single comment soooo much though literally my motivation to get through the day like 80 percent of the time

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I'm going to stick with Ted Lasso fics here since I have so many fics posted and this is my Ted Lasso sideblog and say... well, most of the time I have a bittersweet ending and then some sort of hopeful epilogue (such as with ink sunset and make a mess of you) but I guess betrayal's sting / absolution's balm or something to get off my chest may qualify?

Uhhh, honestly, most of them are happy endings. I think trick & treat and matters of the heart end on particularly high notes?

Oh, yeah, baby. So much. Not sure what "kind" means in this context. It sure is explicit smut. I have tended almost exclusively towards hot transgender sex the last few years because. yknow. hi. but somehow I don't think that's the intention in the question.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I do, but I haven't posted a lot. Only one on this account (a Gravity Falls x The Mysterious Benedict Society crossover that started as a joke because of a shared actress) although I had an interesting Shadowhunters x The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess fusion on my other account. I've written some pretty weird WIPs, though. And I've got some posts about Ted Lasso crossover/AUs, like a Sarah Jane Adventures AU, a Pushing Daisies AU, a Stardust AU... You can find that kind of thing in this tag on my blog.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes. Not in this fandom, though, as far as I'm aware.

Oh, man, I don't know if I can decide. Magnus/Alec (TV version only I'll die on this hill) will always hold a special place in my heart, but I've got other "obsessed with this when I was a kid" ships and also recency bias/current hyperfixation means Trent/Ted screams as an immediate answer, and so on and so forth. I'm bad at picking favorites. Overall, I'd probably say one of those two, or both.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Sticking to Ted Lasso again (I have. so many MBS WIPs. god.) I'd say lost sight of (who you are) (lost motivation, want to finish, fuck!!) or sweeter than heaven (hotter than hell) (got mad at it), or!! oh!!! ink sunset (stuck) and possibly the next installment of matters of the heart. Yeah, I have a problem

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I'm pretty good at being funny and also at eloquent but perhaps a little too verbose metaphors. I love me an elaborate metaphor

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

It's hard for me to focus and get what I have in my head out sometimes, even when I really want to. Whether it's being unable to organize or just my brain flat-out refusing to cooperate and do anything. Also, I'm way too like. easily discouraged with lack of feedback, and even a little negative feedback can kind of ruin my week and make me never wanna go back to that story ever again.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I just realized. The questions seemed familiar but I wasn't sure why and now I know, now that I've gotten to this question. I have done this game before and I remember bc of this question. I was confused bc it was under a different name, I think the questions were in a different order, and it was sometimes slightly differently worded but nope! This is the same one! Weird Anyway, just for this particular question, I'm going to copy-paste my old answer because I'm lazy. I’m extremely bad at linguistics in general, so if I must include someone talking in another language in my fic, I think I’d tend to cheat and do italics or some other indication that this is ‘in another language’ (ie “Where are you going?” she asked in Russian), but that’s admittedly a lazy approach. But I also think it’s probably better than butchering it with an auto-translator? Also, when people just include the translation in the end notes, even with a link (although that makes it marginally better) it breaks the flow of the story and makes it hard to read. Making an effort to at least match grammar is good (which I would do if it was for longer than a single scene, probably) but I think the best solution is when people know what they’re doing and like, have an actual translation with a little html code so you can click on it and it reveals what it means? Or if you’re clever, revealing what it means using context around it, but that has its own limitations. So that both like, uses the actual language and doesn’t break up the flow. It balances accessibility, flow, and respect for the other language in question well. But you’ve got to both know what you’re doing with the language (either asking someone/hiring someone/knowing the language yourself) and the html (although there are guides for that you’d have to spend time figuring it out + know it exists in the first place to look). And this is fanfiction, something we ultimately do for free in our spare time, so the lazy approach, I think, can be understandable. Maybe not in every context, but it’s not worth stressing a lot over in a few random lines or anything, you know? It is really cool when people do know a language well enough to include it properly in a fic, though, it can say a lot about a character or dynamic; and their background(s) and like. it’s neat :)

the final outpost! obscure adoptable creature collector site mixed with a sci-fi twist. each pixel art sprite has many, many genetic variations which results in there being almost infinite numbers of possible creatures to collect in total. the creature designs are so neat and the genetics are so fun to play around, i can spend hours on the creature preview just messing around and i won't get bored

i love making crossovers arts of my interests!! why enjoy one piece of media when you can enjoy multiple at the same time? most of the arts i post here are wc + whatever band i like at the moment

Happy New Year, one and all

I hope everyone had a great, good, or even just okay 2024. There's some uncertainty in this coming year of 2025, but I hope that we as a community can stick together through any hardships and continue to have loads of fun. You're all such lovely, silly people and it's been so much fun spending the year with all of you.

Now, with that being said, I'd like to take this as an opportunity to discuss this blog and its currently uncertain future.

As you may or may not have noticed (you might not give a crap and that's fine), I haven't posted anything substantial... basically since early 2024, late 2023-ish. I've vanished from just about every fandom related Discord server. And at this point I should probably remove the CEO of Stinkoman claim from my blog title, because I've seen at least 3 people rightfully take that name throughout the year. This account has always been very reblog heavy, but nowadays it's exclusively been reblogs. Truth be told, this is due to dwindling interest in Homestar Runner. The Homestar phase that inspired me to make a sideblog in about 2022 finally faded, as it has on-and-off since 2017 (2022-early 2024 was just the longest it ever lasted), and I've moved onto different fandoms. In those nearly 3 years, I've graduated high school, made and lost some friends, it's been pretty wild. Homestar Runner has helped me through some serious times, and now it's sort of being put to the side.

That being said, I still love it! I consider Homestar Runner my special interest, and I'll always hold it near and dear to my heart. I am not looking to abandon this blog any time soon because I sincerely enjoy checking the main tag twice a day, reblogging everything I see and admiring the creativity and humour of this community. I do it because I genuinely adore just about everything I see, and I wanna put some more eyes to it, even if it's just a silly doodle or a sentence-long shitpost. But while I'll continue to do that to my heart's content, my own art and fanfiction will not be prioritized. Sorry if any of you gave a flying hoot about 20X7, that didn't even get past the inciting action chapter, whoops. Fellow amateur fic writers take note: do some planning for your big multi-chapter story or else it'll probably fall into a ditch, lol.

Who knows? Maybe 2025 will have some big release that'll make me come crawling right back, and my hyperfixation will blossom again, and everything will be hunky and not to mention dory. But in the meantime, I'm just gonna sit in the audience and politely clap and smile at drawings of silly dumb animal characters hanging out, or making out, or jibblie-ing out. I'll still always be happy to accept asks and chat about who knows what.

Again, I wish everyone the most merry of new years, whether you stick with the fandom or not. Strong Bad will always be with you, whether you want him to or not. If not, a restraining order might be of value. But you didn't hear it from me.
