I can’t believe it’s 2017 and the PokéAni fandom is still grasping at unsourced interviews that have been translated through three different languages in thinly veiled attempts to try to stop other people from having headcanons / shipping things. Never change, fandom. Never change.

#like I had a list of 5 different ways that ''interview'' with Rica is pure nonsense (which it is)#like even if the interview IS real Rica has ABSOLUTELY NO SAY on scripts or direction or *anything*#but honestly i've been tired of this nonsense since 1997 #people have been making up BS about this anime since its inception #i just don't have the energy to join the Discourse™ over it anymore #i'm too old and tired #and note: I'm ace myself so it's not like i wouldn't like more ace characters #ffs i see Alan - my FAVORITE CHARACTER EVER - as aroace #and i also see Keith from Voltron as demiro ace etc etc #but Satoshi / Ash Ketchum is not written as a canonically aroace character #you can headcanon him as such #but he's NOT good representation #he FAR AND AWAY IS NOT #and there are too many instances of contradictory statements and canonical evidence #being made about his love life to show that #so his voice actress babbling on in interviews #one of which was not sourced #and which have no easily available text to track the translation #means nothing #but sure go ahead and stir up an argument over what is ''canon'' because of it #that's surely needed #for fucksake why is it even necessary to bring it up #it doesn't matter because no romance will ever be canon #because this show is never going to end #so just stop asking ffs #ok for real now i'm done
