How did ghosts relationship with selectively mute reader come about?? I feel like the fact theyâre both neurodivergent is one of the reasons why ghosts so into her but how did they overcome her selective muteness towards him?
I think Ghost met her initially when she was out with a friend at a pub. Initially the friend was the conduit when he approached herâ came with the explanation that âSheâs mute. Well, sometimes. But she thinks youâre hot too.â Cue the friend being lightly slapped on the arm.
For her, guys usually gently pulled away once they found out she wasnât going to say anything. Ghost didnât, because she didnât seem to want him to. Heâs perfectly fine with enjoying silence, and he can learn to ask yes or no questions. And because he doesnât create any pressure for a response, it was easier and faster than usual for her to add him to her list of comfortable people.
Heâs also completely fine with taking the interaction helm when theyâre out togetherâ on their first real date, he ordered the things she wanted for her (she just pointed to things on a menu) like it was an instinct. No fuss, no teasing, it was like heâd always been doing it. Heâs very adaptable that way. And observant to a faultâ he canât help being constantly aware. So over time he learned what kind of settings made her less anxious, the kinds of food she was comfortable with, and tailored their time together around that. Once again, no fuss. He just wants to spend time with her, and he sees no reason that he shouldnât make it as stress-free as possible for her.
And for those of you who may not know. Thatâs exactly how you get anxious bitches to fall in love with you (Iâm bitches).
And when she does start speaking around him, he matches her pace perfectly. Still keeps his questions and prompts very simple, doesnât get frustrated if she goes back to being quiet around him for a little while. Heâs dealt with a lot of people with varying degrees of anxiety, it comes with his job, and heâs very good at not taking any of it personally. He knows she likes him, because she tells him when she can, and shows him when she canât tell him.
And that whole thing about pressure to speak goes both ways. Heâs used to one-on-one time feeling like heâs under a microscope, and it can make him anxious. But she makes him feel seen as opposed to examined. She doesnât find it strange that he doesnât say anything if he doesnât have anything to say. Her invitations for time in a shared space are always very open and she leaves plenty of room for him to withdraw if he has to. And sheâs more than fine with just basically doing parallel playâ doing their own thing but just being in the same space. That can be a date for her.

Hi friend :DD
So basically what's happening is reddit person is projecting his own internalized transphobia onto his partner, and also making his partner's transition about himself. It's even shittier because reddit person HIMSELF is trans. Calling your girlfriend's transition your "worst nightmare coming true" is just extremely transphobic and a very fucked up sentence.
There were many better ways to word this such as saying "I'm scared that my partner will struggle through her transition and I don't feel that I am equipped to support her through this on my own. I have a lot of mixed feelings about my own transness, and I don't want to hurt her on accident because of my own problems. I'm a bit worried about our sex life as well, but I don't know how to bring that up to her. Help is appreciated."
In other comments, he also talks about how his partner was scared to come out to him because she thought he'd react negatively, and he did that exact thing. He's being incredibly selfish with the "I can't imagine just being friends" and it sounds like the relationship is the only thing stopping him from killing himself, which puts an incredibly unfair burden on the other partner to stay with the suicidal partner.
It's also just not fair to push things to the side and "wait for a mircale" because realisitically, there will be no miracles. Reddit person needs to go to therapy, and the couple most definitely need couple's therapy due to their issues.
Also insinuating that your partner is "turning into someone I don't know" just because they're transitioning is incredibly hurtful. People's entire personality does not change just because they transition. They are more likely to just become more confident about themselves, and if their partner is threatened by that then that is a problem. And the wording of the title makes it looks as if they blame their relationship problem's on his partner's coming out.
Sorry if this was incoherent or anything, and I hope this helps! Feel free to ask more questions :D
ohhh i hope this guy kills himself

begging for a fic where regulus says âi love youâ to reader for the first time and it FLOORS them bc reggie is not one to voice his feelings a lot, much less something as powerful as the feeling of love
listen, when i saw this ask i sat down and wrote this in ONE sitting, THANK you. you probably intended for this to be a scene at the beginning of a relationship, but i instead decided to psychoanalyse my poor darling reg for a few thousands of words and give him a patient partner. hope you'll forgive me lols<3
Words: 3k
Warnings: not proofread, the most ancient and noble black family trauma (including descriptions of abuse and neglect), gn!reader, black brothers angst and reconciliation, sunshine!reader, reader is very patient and understanding with regulus, kinda past bartylus, barty is a hugger here, reg pov so some spiraling, vague implied references to sex (so implied that i believe it's safe for minors, but just putting that out there)
on the tip of my tongue
Itâs not that Regulus didnât love you. Quite the opposite, actually.Â
Itâs just that love had not been a spoken matter in his life until you barged into it. Love was implicit as much as it was hidden and reserved; something you grabbed greedily at while you had it and rationed carefully over the next few weeks or months, hoping to get by on it.Â
For a long time, Regulus thought his mother loved him. She was strict and firm, but when he came to her for advice, she would give it and might even pat him on the cheek if he accepted what she had to say readily enough. He would hold his cheek afterwards and syphon the warmth left from her touch, wishing there was a way for it to stay with him forever.
When he got to Hogwarts and experienced true, unrestrained friendship he realised there was a way for it to stay with him forever â the other party just had to not withhold it. His cheek would be warm if the people who loved him kept holding, kept returning. With them, attention was not something he was occasionally graced with, it was always on him, within easy reach.
It took him a while, but Regulus eventually got used to the physical affection, at least from his friends. He came to expect it and lean into it, which in and of itself felt like a weight lifted off his shoulders. There were hugs and pats on the back and tousled hair. There were pretend-scuffles on the quidditch field and the common room. There was that one term in third year where Barty decided he and Regulus simply must learn how to kiss and the boys spent most nights sneaking off into the empty common room and unskillfully, sloppily making out through kisses. There was that one night in fifth year where they picked it back up again.Â
Still, with the hands-on approach to love that Barty and Dorcas had and infused into their little safe haven of a friend group, it remained unspoken. There was the occasional âmateâ or the nicknames he brought with him from home â âRegâ was fine and while he did not much care for âReggieâ, he let it slide due to the affection it held. The closest they got to spoken love were the promises to fiercely protect each other, to kill and die by each otherâs sides if must be. To beat the living daylights out of anyone who lays a finger on the other and then hex the pain to stay with them forever. An oath of loyalty was their "I love you".
Other than them, Sirius had been his one source of affection throughout his life, but as everything else in Grimmauldâs Place it had been quiet.Â
Sirius was the perfect big brother, whether Regulus wanted to admit that or not. He held his hand when they crossed the street and held Regulus at night when he cried. Sirius taught him as much as he could, and though he occasionally was arrogant or impatient with his lessons, he didnât give up on them. Regulus knew he loved Sirius at the very least, even if he had in more recent years questioned if that love was returned.
The problem with Sirius is that Regulus does not know of most of the affection the older boy showed him. Sirius insists that the two spent the majority of their first years attached at the hip, but Regulus struggles to remember much before the age of 12, which you had once told him he might want to look into with a professional at some point. To which Regulus emphasised the âat some pointâ more than the rest. So any hugs or touches or love Sirius showed him has been long since forgotten. Apart from the bed-sharing; Regulus remembers that vividly. Crawling into his older brotherâs bed at night when he had nightmares, hoping Sirius could chase the monsters away. Regulus didnât think he did it that often, but Sirius swore he once slept an entire three months solely in Siriusâ bed.
The most significant way Sirius loved Regulus, though, was through what he did for him, not to him, which Regulus did not himself see. He was such a good shield between their parents and Regulus that the young boy didnât even realise the service he provided. Scoldings, blames and beatings â there was nothing Sirius did not take for Regulus.
If Regulusâ childhood was painful enough not to remember, he could not stand the thought of how Siriusâ must have been.
That is part of how he learned not to resent him for leaving Grimmauldâs Place â even that he did in part for Regulus. When left alone with an increasingly vexed Walburga Black, Regulus learnt quickly how severe some punishments can be. Consequently, he learned what Sirius had endured for him, how strong of a shield he had been.Â
Sirius knew he could no longer withstand the weight of that house, so he left, in hopes that he could be a better protector for Regulus from afar. Finding a good home full of warmth and smiles, and coaxing Regulus into joining him there under safer circumstances than he himself had. When the two had their infamous heart-to-heart, it was Sirius choking on the words âbetter protectorâ that finally broke Regulus â the first time he had cried in front of his older brother since they were little.
Now he knew well that Sirius loved him, beyond most words. And the things they said to each other during that talk where he convinced Regulus to leave might even mean more than a simple âI love youâ. Still, it remained unsaid.Â
It was simply not tradition for Regulus Black to speak them.
Then, he met you.Â
What was that thing James always says? Game-changer? You were that for him.
Somehow, affection just came pouring out of you like you were overflowing with it and just had to share it. With your friends and your family, even strangers â it just came naturally to you. And when Regulus entered your orbit through his reunion with Sirius, you more than happily let that extend to him as well.
It absolutely floored him.Â
The first time you said âI love youâ to him was long before you got together or before he even had the nerve to actively flirt with you. You ran into him in the hallway and stopped him, trying to squeeze as much conversation as you could out of him in the few minutes you both had between classes. It was evident you were soaking up his presence as if it was truly enjoyable, and it warmed something in him he was only able to name later on. When you had to run, you ended the conversation with a casual âokay, see you later, I love you, bye!â. Regulus was left gaping. Nearly ended up late to McGonagallâs class because of you.Â
Saying it as a form of temporary goodbye reminded him of how he used to ration his motherâs touches, it carried him until the next time he saw you. Except next time with you was dinner later the same day, and then breakfast and then hanging out in the library. He never had to wait long, never had to go wanton.
The love kept flowing freely from you in all the ways he had gotten used to over the years and then many more â physical touch, quality time, acts of services, words of affirmation, you checked off the whole list. He began calling you soleil, French for sunshine because of how you shone with that love for everyone. It was a slip of the tongue one day, and when he saw how it made you smile, he just kept calling you that.
With such a loving and lovely creature, Regulus thought he couldnât help but fall in love with you; he was not at fault for it, you were entirely to blame with your loveliness.
His voice had shook some when he first confided in Sirius about it. The older boy had smiled fondly and joked, âThat was not quite what I meant when I told you to make yourself at home with my friends, but Iâm glad youâre comfortable.â Regulus argued he in no way shape or form felt comfortable with the emotion, but Sirius would have none of it.
His voice shook even more the first time he told you how lovely you look today, but unlike Sirius, you didnât notice. You smiled and returned the sentiment with ease. He realised then that he would likely not be able to talk himself into a relationship with you, given his lack of skill and your lack of deducing any intent behind sweet words, so he went the Regulus-route as Sirius had called it.
Meaning, he pursued you through quiet, unwavering loyalty and company, attaching himself at your hip for as long as you seemed comfortable with it. When he realised there was no limit on the amount of time you were willing to spend with him, he went further.Â
Regulus went to hold your hand for the first time in Hogsmeade. Looking back on it, you both laughed at how he spent ten whole minutes inching his hand closer and closer to yours, practically holding his breath, awaiting a rejection or harsh response. Ever so slowly, he interlinked his pinky with yours. An opening both for you to take it further or cast him aside, whichever you pleased he would accept. The beaming smile you flashed as you looked up at him then, lacing the rest of your fingers together tightly, never left his mind for long.
Hand holding led to walking arm in arm which led to prolonged hugs which finally, finally found you both sitting in the Astronomy tower, kissing with large, dumb smiles on your faces. The same night you had your first kiss Regulus surmises you probably had your first hundred kisses.
Now, laid in bed beside you, two years into dating, Regulus could not imagine not being comfortable around you. He smiles fondly when he thinks of the boy he was before you decided to simply drown him in affection, but he does not relate to him anymore. There is no place he would rather be than here by your side, in the flat he purchased for the two of you straight out of Hogwarts â the last time he can remember panicking before asking you to take the next step in your relationship â playing idly with your fingers as you hummed some melody he could not place. It felt right.
The one thing that had remained the same throughout your relationship, both before and after it turned romantic, was that you overflowed with âI love youâs and he had not said it once.
You had talked about it before, of course you had. Sirius had given Regulus a stern talking to about communication when you first started going out, unwilling for his baby brother and friend to get hurt by their own stupidity.Â
âI donât know if I can say it,â Regulus had said then. âIt sounds ridiculous, but I donât know how.â
âItâs a good thing you donât need to then,â you had said so simply, through a smile that made his heart spin happily. âI know what I need to know. I like saying my truth because thatâs how I am; but I am more than happy to accept you showing yours because thatâs how you are. And I love you as you are.â
Regulus had known in his bones that you meant it, and that made it all the more sweeter. He attacked you with kisses after that, relishing in the giggles it drew from you.
âIf it ever changes, will you tell me?â Regulus asked after, when you quieted down in each otherâs arms. âIf you ever need to hear it?â
You had said something about how you âdo hear itâ, always with your metaphors and abstract ways of viewing things. When Regulus, ever the pragmatist, had insisted on getting an answer to his question because âyou know what I meanâ, you had promised to tell him. You never did need to because it never changed for you.
It was Regulus it changed for.
In your shared bed, your hand in his as he followed its outline and your bare legs entangled, something deep in him shifted. You were sleepy and content above him, reading some paperback he borrowed you ages ago that you only picked up once you moved in together and all your books were in the same place anyway. He was laying half on top of your chest and staring at you with what had to be love in his eyes because thatâs what he felt in his soul. He had been staring for the past half an hour, not even realising it, lost in his train of thought.
He had expected that when he would finally say it, there would be some grand reason, some special moment. Something that would cause that shift, something that required him to voice what he felt and you knew.
There wasnât; it was just you and him, and he was so unbelievably happy and comfortable. He had tried microdosing love and you ended up giving him a lifetime supply instead. You were everything.
âSol?â The question drawled out of him, mouth ahead of his brain but heart running miles before both.Â
You looked up with a smile, stopping your absentminded humming. âYeah, love?â
His eyes crinkled at the corners and he spent another minute just looking at your face. You let him, indulgent and sweet as ever.
âI love you.â
You froze. The smile remained on your face, the same contentedness there, but your eyes widened and your hand on his back stopped mid-circle. âWhat?â you whispered.
He kept staring at you with a smile, almost finding humour in your increasingly shocked expression, though some old part of him remained alert for rejection. Which makes no sense, she tells you it every day, he reminded himself. Still, old habits die hard.
You decided to trade one question for another upon his silence and your mental recalibration. âWhy?â
âWhy?â Regulus repeated through a laugh, as if the thought was incredulous. âHave you met yourself, soleil? Have you seen what youâve done to me? Iâve always loved you.â
You sat up quickly at that, jostling Regulus up with you, though he was less graceful in the change of position as he did not anticipate it. You looked at him with the same wide-eyed expression. âNot what I meant,â you said then.
Regulus opened his mouth to say something, though he wasnât sure what.
âBut you didnât have to,â you blurted out before he could. Rushed, almost frantic. âDonât say it because you think you have to.â
Regulus furrowed his brows in confusion before they cleared up in realisation of your fear. He shifted to sit closer to you, practically pulling you between his legs, and grasped both your hands softly. They had been hovering between your forms, as if over an injury you did not know how to treat. Slowly, he dragged his thumbs back and forth over your knuckles. âAmour, soleil,â he whispered, emphasising the words with all his might. âI know I donât have to. I wanted to. I want to, it feels right. Iâ I love you.â
The second time, the phrase flowed more freely from his tongue. Easily. He found he quite liked the taste.
You opened and closed your mouth twice, eyes flickering all over his face as if to deduce whether you trusted his words. Then, ever so slowly, he saw that smile he loves so much begin to grow over your lips, that looked increasingly more kissable to him.
âYeah?â you asked him breathily through your oncoming grin.
âYeah, baby,â he whispered. âI love you. I always have, you know. But I felt like saying it now.â
Your laughter was almost watery as you squeezed his hands in yours. âI do know. And I love you,â you asserted clearly, as if there had ever been any doubt.
âSo Iâve heard.â The cheeky remark was the last thing that left Regulusâ lips before he moved forward and captured yours.
Just like that first kiss in the Astronomy Tower, one led to possibly a hundred more. Giggles and sighs all mixed together into what Regulus was proud to call his life.
A life with you. A life of love.

I love MJ. Peter must have really been devastated by her being affected when he was outed as Spider-Man. I have a few questions! You mentioned in the original universe she had a relapse â was it just the same universe changes that made Peter a criminal that caused there to be an MJ that was an addict? Would the venom have caused her to die in a while like most people, or no because Peter became her supplier and had presumably good control? Wouldnât she have known the reasons he had hesitated to kiss long eventually, since he had to tell her everything to help with the venom thing? And does his venom just⊠come out automatically after a bit with anything, or is it possible for him to have situations where itâs not involved at all for a time? Iâm sure he misses her and usually MJ and Peter are friends before they get together in many canons, so Iâm really happy that heâs able to be her friend in the new universe and didnât lose her entirely đ„ș even if he basically had to reform the relationship from scratch. (Also if Peter and Marko were such good friends, why was he willing to put him and his loved ones in danger by telling everyone?) all of this is very cool and fun ty for sharing.
So OG-MJ was an addict before she ever knew Peter(and before everything with the knock off venom.) She had been sober for two years at that point, and continued to stay sober for a few years after she and Peter officially got together.
However, Peter was always gone, flaking on all their special dates/anniversaries etc. He'd make plans and then never show up, or cancel at the last minute. And despite being super affectionate with his words, was always really physically distant. All of this left MJ feeling really alone and angry, as she was dealing with her own abandonment issues (foster care).
Eventually, everything was just a perfect storm of frustration (struggling with her boss, Peter flaking on another date, a new job opportunity not coming through) that she ended up reconnecting with some old friends who convinced her to try 'this sick new upper'.
The issue with manufactured venom (gonna call it Aurora) is that in it's impurity, it had extremely degenerative effects at lower doses. Peter's venom, while just as bad, was 'cleaner'. He can secrete it at will, but his body starts automatically pumping it when he gets excited (not to mention his fangs do not retract!!!) (They are very sharp!!!)
As for Marko, he'd been Sandman for a while before he revealed Spiderman's identity. Not only was he mentally very unstable, but he'd been very bitter over Peter going 'straight'. They were supposed to be ride or die, but Peter kept drifting away and eventually cut ties with him when it was obvious that Marko was never going to leave the lifestyle.
Then one day, during a fight with Spiderman Marko just...recognized the body language, the words, just...something clicked, then broke. Because not only did Peter leave Marko, the guy who had his back all those years in prison, his supposed 'ride or die' was also fucking Spiderman. The guy who had been actively fucking up Marko's life for years. The enemy.
Payback was an easy decision for a guy who held tight to grudges.
And for the kicker, he didn't even sell the information, just gave it to JJ for free-- that's how much he wanted to hurt Peter. Later, he would really regret it, but it would be too late at that point.
After Marko threw Peter's life into the fire, he and MJ had a blowout fight. At the height of it, MJ told Peter to 'prove he loved her' and used her own addiction as a way to control his time and attention after being starved for so long (kind of holding herself hostage).
Yeah...it all kind of went to real shit after Lmaoo
Once again, thank you SO much for the support and all these amazing asks!! <3 <3

đamily đeeting. đ 䞥éąćźżćș ( streamer!au ) fluff 1.2k words + warnings. occ sukuna | sukuna meeting your parents.
You never imagined that you would introduce a boyfriend to your parents. Not that you've never been in a relationship before, but certainly none as serious as the one you're in with Sukuna.
And bringing someone you care about to meet your family is certainly a big step in a relationship.
On the one hand, you were calm, knowing that your parents would support your relationship when they saw how much you liked Sukuna (and how much Sukuna liked you). But still, there was a small feeling of apprehension, a small fear that everything would go wrong.
"You know... we don't really have to do this." You said to Sukuna when you were already outside your parents' house, the house where you had spent most of your life.
"Why are you nervous?" Sukuna asked confusedly as he entwined his fingers in yours.
When you had woken up this morning, you had seemed excited about the idea of introducing Sukuna to your parents, but now, at this moment, your sudden apprehension worried the boy.
"What if... what if they don't like you?" you asked almost in a whisper, ashamed of the dark side of your thoughts your mind had taken you to while you overthought the situation.
"I don't care if they like me or not," Sukuna sighed, "I just care that they know how special you are to me." Sukuna slowly approached you and planted a kiss on your forehead.
The sweet, simple act made your heart race. You didn't know why you were having such bad thoughts, because Sukuna was exactly the perfect boyfriend for you. Nothing would go wrong!
You smiled slightly, feeling the pressure leave your shoulders, and rang the doorbell.
In less than a few minutes, you were greeted by your mother with a beaming smile on her face.
"Oh, my dear, you're home!" Your mother pulled you into a tight hug.
"My love, you don't have to pretend you weren't watching them on the security camera." Your father appeared behind your mother, holding a cloth and wearing a frilly pink apron.
"Ignore your father." Your mother laughed and planted a kiss on your cheek, "It's so nice to see you again, and especially with such a handsome boy." The older woman turned to Sukuna.
"It is a pleasure to meet you." Sukuna said and bowed in respect.
"There's no need for all this formality, Sukuna," your mother laughed, hugging your boyfriend, "Hum, he's better looking than I thought, someone has inherited their mother's good taste," your mother laughed, looking in your direction.
âMom!â
"It's good to have you home, my little angel." Your father hugged you tightly after your mother gave way. "And it's nice to meet you, Sukuna." Your father held out his hand to your boyfriend, who shook it without hesitation.
"Well, let's go inside and lunch will be ready soon. And Sukuna, make yourself at home!"
"Thank you.â
As the day wore on, you began to realize that all the nervousness you had felt before entering your parents' house was pointless.
During lunch, his parents (kindly) interrogated Sukuna with typical questions to get to know him better. Things ranging from "what do you do for a living" to "how did you meet our daughter" to "what is your favorite color". These were questions your parents would ask to better understand the person you were dating.
And apparently Sukuna was doing perfectly well, judging by your mother's satisfied smile with every answer he gave.
"You know..." Your mother smiled as she put the glass of wine she had been drinking back on the table, "I honestly never imagined that my daughter would date someone whose style was so diametrically opposed to hers. I must admit, my biggest fear was that she would end up with someone with no personality at all. But I guess fate really does have its moments."
"Mom..." You smiled sweetly at her words and squeezed Sukuna's hand, "That wasâŠâ
"Cheesy," she said laughing, "Ah, alcohol makes me say such beautiful and cheesy words at the same time!"
"Or it's you who never stopped having a sweet soul." Your father smiled romantically in your mother's direction.
"Well, now that we know about you, Sukuna, I think the most awaited moment for you to meet your in-laws has arrived." Your mother said excitedly.
"And what would that be?" You asked, confused.
"The photo album from when you were a baby!" Your father replied, sharing your mother's enthusiasm.
"Um, I can't wait to see it!" Sukuna smiled mischievously, looking at you, enjoying the situation.
You bit your lower lip, maybe you could put up with Sukuna's teasing if it meant he was having a good time with your parents.
After lunch, you cleared the table and your father led Sukuna into the living room after picking up the huge box containing several photo albums from your birth to adulthood.
From the kitchen, as you helped your mother with the dishes, you could hear your father's enthusiastic voice telling the stories behind each photo and even answering Sukuna's questions about certain events.
You were glad they were getting along so well.
"My dear..." Your mother called out, causing you to turn your attention to her.
"Yes, Mom?"
"I'm happy for you." She smiled softly, "Sukuna is a good boy, and from what I've seen, he's certainly a good boyfriend for you. It's comforting to know that you have someone like him by your side, supporting you and loving you for who you are. I knew you'd make a good choice.â
"Thanks, Mom." You smiled and hugged your mother.
"Now go and stay with your boyfriend, you can let me finish here."
"Are you sure?" You asked, looking at the sink where you were just putting away what was already clean.
"Absolutely.â
You smiled and hugged your mother one last time before you went into the living room and sat down on the couch next to your boyfriend.
"And then we went to Santa's Village, a Christmas attraction, and she fell in love with the fake baby reindeer and wanted to take it home," your father said, showing Sukuna a photo of you as a child hugging a fake reindeer.
"You were quite a troublemaker as a child," Sukuna smiled mischievously, resting his hand on your knee.
"It takes one to know another." You smiled, resting your head on Sukuna's strong shoulder.
"They loved you," you murmured, cuddling into Sukuna's arms as you lay on his bed.
It was already night, and after a lively afternoon with your parents, especially telling them about your adventures when you were a restless little child, you returned to Sukuna's apartment, not before your boyfriend promised to visit your parents again and join the family celebrations.
"If I remember correctly, it was you who was worrying that pretty little head of yours." Sukuna hugged you and kissed the top of your head.
"I've never introduced anyone I've dated to my parents, I don't know if I could bear to see that they didn't like you."
"And if they hadn't liked me, what would you have done?â
"I would insist until they realized they were wrong and started to like you." You smiled and leaned against Sukuna's chest, watching his sleepy expression.
"I thought you would break up with me if they didn't like me."
"Are you crazy?" you asked, surprised at Sukuna's confession, "I would never break up with you.â
"Never?" Sukuna smiled as he looked at you, his long fingers tangling in your slightly messy hair.
"Never, ever!" You smiled and kissed his cheek before snuggling back into your boyfriend's large, muscular body.
"Good." He murmured before falling asleep as he hugged you.

Manfred learns about rings (EmmRook post game short fic)
I have so many ideas for domestic post game EmmRook... Here's another one featuring their favourite skeleton son. This is pure tooth-rotting fluff (with mild spoilers for the end of the game of course but still spoilers)
Enjoy! (Update: part 2 can be found here)
Fire cracking in the hearth, a warm cup of herbal tea and a good book; Rook loved those peaceful and cosy evenings. While she was lying on the living roomâs plush meridian, Emmrich and Manfred were discussing magical artefacts near the fireplace. Manfred was sitting crosslegged on the carpet, listening with undivided attention to his teacherâs lessons. The subject of the night seemed to be the use of enchanted rings to enhance oneâs magic. Comfortably sitting on an armchair, Emmrich took his time taking off his rings one by one, explaining which enchantement they bore and their purpose before placing them neatly on the coffee table when he was done.
Manfredâs shiny eyes reviewed the display of jewels intently, with his signature curiosity. Carefully, he pointed to each of them in order, and repeated what he learned. Emmrich nodded along, gently correcting his apprenticeâs few mistakes or sharing more details.
Rook couldnât help but be distracted by the scene. Manfred made so much progress in so little time, making her, and mostly Emmrich, both ecstatic and proud. During the last Blight, she had no opportunity to witness the extent of Emmrichâs love for learning and mostly his love for teaching. It was an area in which all his generosity, patience and intelligence shone through. Being knowledgeable didnât necessarily imply being pedagogical, but Emmrich excelled in it, and thrived in discussing and challenging his own wisdom.
There was one ring left on Emmrichâs left ring finger. Manfred noticed and asked about it.
âAhâ A small private smile graced Emmrichâs thin lips as he gazed down to the simple but finely chiselled golden band. âThis one like you noticed holds no enchantmentâ He said.
Manfred was present at their wedding of course, but Rook wasnât sure how much he grasped the meaning of such an event. For all his practical knowledge, Manfred, as a spirit, had a different take on emotions; one that Rook and Emmrich didnât always understand.
âWhat for?â Manfred asked and Rook waited on Emmrichâs answer with renewed interest.
âWell, it is a symbol. A reminder of the bond between Rook and I, and the promise we made each other to be togetherâ He gulped before he added âUntil death does us appartâ
âUntil foreverâ Rook corrected him with a gentle smile.
Emmrich quickly turned to her, surprised to find she had been listening. He shook his head but a relaxed smile graced his features. âRight. Forever. In this world and beyondâ
Manfred tilted his head, and Rook could almost see the gears turning in his skull.
Emmrich started putting his rings back on, leaving the lessons of the evening to sink in for now.
Rook took a sip of her lukewarm tea and was about to go back to her book when Manfred asked: âCan I have one? Ring?â
Emmrich stopped mid gesture and blinked in surprise, but he was quick to regain his composure and welcomed the question. âWell, I am happy to see youâre interested in them Manfred. I would offer you one but apprentices in training arenât authorised to use them. No exceptions. I wouldnât want the other teachers to think I play favourites.â
Rook snorted a little at that. It was a nice sentiment, and she admired Emmrichâs will to be just and fair. But in other instances, she knew he did play favourites without even being aware of it. How could he not? His relationship with Manfred was most special.
âNot those. The other oneâ Manfred said, poiting to Emmrichâs ring finger.
Rook perked up from her book. What an unexpected twist. Even after all this time, Manfred always managed to surprise them every day.
âOhâ Emmrich half breathed half chuckled. âOhâ He repeated, visibly taken aback. He ran a hand through his perfectly coiffed hair before he set on asking: âAnd why would you want one?â
Smart move to choose not to assume what meaning Manfred puts behind that ring. Rook waited intently for the answer. Manfred couldnât possibly want to marry someone; and her poor husband was most definitely not ready for that either.
âTo be with you. Forever?â Manfred asked, visibly unsure of what the last part meant.
Rookâs heart positively melted in her chest. She looked to Emmrich, who had brought his gloved hand in front of his mouth, eyes wide and shiny with both joy and disbelief. Neither of them trusted themselves to talk for now.
Manfred rocked on his back bones, self conscious. âI canât? Bad?â He asked lowly.
Emmrich leaped out of the armchair and knelt before the curiosity spirit. He took both Manfredâs bony hands in his. âOf course you can Manfred! Of course you canâ He reassured him, eyes teary and voice shaky with emotion. âThat would be wonderful! Weâll get you one of your choosingâ
âYeay!â Manfred beamed.
Emmrich sat back onto his heels âBut to be clear, you must understand that if the meaning of matching rings is that we share a bond, the one we share isnât the exact same one I share with Rook?â He felt the need to clarify, once his initial shock had passed.
âI knowâ Manfred immediately replied, like it was obvious to him.
âGoodâ Emmrich clasped his hands together, considering the matter settled. âThe anniversary of your return from the fade grows near. Weâll get the two matching rings then. It would make for a most perfect occasionâ He decided excitedly as he got up, dusting his perfectly clean trousers in the process.
âRook gets one tooâ Manfred stated and Emmrich turned to his wife, that baffled expression that reminded her of their first flirts painting his refined features.
âReally?â Rook replied, flabbergasted too. â Thank you Manfred! Iâd be honoredâ Her heart squeezed in her chest, full of overflowing love for them both.
Emmrich and Manfred had a very special relationship in which she didnât want to intrude too much. But feeling included by the curiosity spirit was an incredibly touching surprise.
- - -
A few days later, they found themselves shopping in one of Nevarraâs most famous jeweller's shops. Emmrich let Manfred in, and let the spirit survey the displays while he explained their needs to the clerc. Rook wondered if they often sold jewellery destined to undead; none the less, the clerc didnât bat an eye at the weird familyâs request. Perfect client service was expected from such a place, and Emmrich was a regular customer.
They waited patiently for Manfred to choose a ring, watching him ponder the options. At one point he came to Emmrich to ask what price was the limit. Thoughtful of him; he was well taught, and more and more proficient in calculus as well as assessing the value of things. Unsurprisingly, Emmrich told him not to worry about it. The watcher now earned a more than comfortable living yet he didnât throw money away and was often more frugal than most would expect. He had consequent savings but wouldnât be stingy when the expanse was deemed important. Of course he wouldnât put a price limit to the symbol of his bond with Manfred. Rook was sure her husband would pluck the stars from the sky to satisfy his protĂ©gĂ©âs curiosity. Thankfully Manfred was too pure to purposefully take advantage of it.
Manfredâs final choice was a thin golden double band joined with a discrete pale turquoise green emeral in the center. Its color reminded Rook of the skeletonâs eyes, and she would be happy to wear the same one on her left pinky finger, close to her wedding ring. Emmrich decided on the same finger placement, and the clerc happily took their meisurements, not commenting except to praise their taste in gems. They would receive the rings just in time for Manfredâs ressurection anniversary.
Emmrich was last to go for measurements, and while waiting for him, Rook joined Manfred, who was still admiring the jewels in the display cases. His attention was completely taken it seemed by a tiny silver hairpin shaped like a coiled up snake, a pale zircon in place of its eye.
âYou do have great taste in jewellery Manfredâ Rook commented âToo bad you donât have luscious hair to wear thatâ
Emmrich arrived just when her joke flopped. âAre we good to go?â He asked, and Manfred finally took his gaze off the hairpin. Only to point at it with his finger.
âI get it for Neveâ
Emmrich stepped back and Rook hid a snorted chuckle in her hand at the way his jaw almost dropped to the floor.
While his caretaker was having an existencial crisis, Manfred took out his personnal money pouch from his hip satchel. He started sorting the coins, and when he was done, showed Emmrich the large amount resting in his opened palm. âIs this enough?â He asked, still unsure about his calculus skills.
It turned up he did get the amount right, but even if that hairpin was small and amongst the cheapest articles in the shop, its price still represented a good two-thirds of Manfredâs savings.
Emmrich cleared his throat and eyed the coins with uncertainty. âThat would be the exact price indeed, well done on your calculus. But are you sure you wish to spend that amount on this gift?â He asked gently. âIt represents a few months of your earnings as an apprentice, and I wonât be compensating it with a rise of your allowanceâ
âI buyâ Manfred brushed off Emmrichâs concerns, and the watcher sighed in defeat.
What more could he say? Manfred needed guidance to prevent him from getting into dangerous situations but he wasnât a child. He was his own person, and deserved to be able to make enlightened decisions of his own.
âIâm sure Neve is going to love itâ Rook encouraged him. âWeâll have to invite her as quickly as possibleâ
âIt is a very beautiful and thoughtful gift indeedâ Emmrich agreed.
While Manfred paid, Emmrich placed a hand on Rookâs waist, bringing her closer, pressing her to his side.
âOur skeleton son has grown so muchâ She teased him, resting her head against his arm with a content sigh.
Emmrich didnât correct her anymore; he knew now that it was a lost cause to stop her from fondly calling Manfred their son.
âI wish he wouldnât grow so fastâ He confessed his worries to her.
âNext thing weâll know heâll be getting marriedâ Rook couldnât resist teasing him. It had always been her way of trying to lift up his spirits. âI hope youâre ready for grandchildrenâ She said, wiggling her eyebrows.
Emmrich almost choked on his saliva. He gave Rook a chidding look and she only grinned in return.
âWe should probably warn Lucanis that heâs got some serious competitionâ
âThat is quite enough dearestâ Emmrich reprimanded, but at the same time, he squeezed her waist harder.
A few meters away, the clerc was handing Manfred a small blue gift bag that the spirit took with a giddy sort of caution. It was adorable.
âI believe weâll remember this day for a long timeâ Rook whispered, looking up to the beautiful face of her husband.
Emmrich placed a small kiss atop her head. âI treasure the memories of each day I am allowed in your companyâ

Heyo! Got a question or two. (Or six-)
- Do you ship Mabifica? Or Dipcifica for that matter? I personally like the former more but I'm just imagining Bill's reaction to having to deal with the fact the girl who insulted Mabel is now dating her/her brother.
Actually, even if you ship neither, I just want his reaction the the Pine twins now being friends(?) With Paz.
Would he try to scare her off? Would he warm up to her?
(If you couldn't already tell, Pacifica is one of my favorite characters, just below Mabel.)
- Does Stan and Ford ever get as close as they did at the end of the show? I mean, Ford must be reeling, sure. But.. Do they ever get on that boat?
- Does Bill make an effort to reconcile with Ford? Even just a show of apology?
- And does Ford bond with the twins? Would he just see them as another thing Bill has tainted?
- Also. Are you planning to make fanfiction of this? Or a comic? Or any media that tells the story? It's now become an integral part of my life.
- Last one! What other bonding moments does Bill have with Wendy? We've got the bets, yeah. But is that all?
(I found your au an hour and a half ago, and I'm already this invested. That is absolutely amazing, considering I don't really latch on to things. (Thanks a lot, autism) I love the art, and I love the tidbits. If it ever gets too overwhelming, don't be afraid to take a breather!! ><)
Hello! I shall do my best to answer!
â Iâm personally a Dipcifica enjoyer myself! I donât see them getting together this summer, so itâs less of a dating thing, but Bill would be decent at recognising the signs of a crush forming thanks to Mabel exposure all summer. Heâd be completely against it. Heâs listing every reason why the Northwests suck to Dipper, all the times Pacifica has done something to make Mabel feel awful! Heâs maybe a little dramatic about it, in true Bill fashion, and is taken aback when Mabel insists itâs okay.
Pacificaâs changing, they both say! Mabel fully intends to be Dipperâs wingman!
Bill finds that idea ridiculous. People donât just change. Humans are known for staying the same once theyâve settled into their body â thatâs just how it is.
Pacifica has proven to be the opposite of everything Bill has taught the twins, and so he sees the blooming friendship as a threat and doesnât like it. It doesnât help that itâs around the time his fear of changing is at an all time high, so heâs maybe projecting a little onto Pacifica.
He definitely tries to scare her off initially, and when that doesnât work, he settles with threatening her should she ever make Mabel upset against. His threats are⊠very intense and itâs clear the issue runs deeper than just Pacifica. He really goes for her insecurities. Honestly, this may be one of his worst moments in front of the twins? Stan ends up having to intervene and try to figure out whatâs going on in Billâs head beyond just being protective over Mabel.
(Pacifica girl I am so sorry)
He doesnât warm to her per se, not yet, as much as he learns to tolerate her sometimes being around. She does her best to avoid him anyhow.
â Still working out the exact details so I donât have much to say right now, but yes, he does. A verbal apology from Bill is also kind of a big deal. Like Stan struggles saying Please, and Ford struggles saying thank you, Bill struggles saying sorry.
â Ford does bond with the twins! I think I mentioned in a post a bit ago that Dungeons Dungeons and more Dungeons is like a gateway for their relationship, and it helps Ford become more comfortable around them and vice versa. Though the general unease still lingers at times, Dipper starts to get comfortable asking him more and more questions about Gravity Falls, and Mabel knits him a few sweaters and tries to catch him up on all the pop culture heâs missed etc. Sometimes he snaps at them when he needs space, and he tends to hide behind Stan some days, but they do get to know this new Ford, and begin to get closer to him bit by bit before Summer ends.
I think he does see them as something Bill has tainted, but not in an irreversible way. If anything, it motivates him to try and get to know them more once the initial fear has settled, to try and re-instate himself as Ford Pines, and be their Great Uncle.
â I donât plan on making a fic or a comic, mainly because I am busy right now and juggling a lot. It just isnât something feasible for me and I notoriously donât do well managing long projects. But, I am hoping to do art and maybe mini comics for it, once I defeat my art block and style crisis, perhaps some one-shots too if I can also defeat my eternal writers block. Iâm honoured you think that way of it though!!
â They generally have a very positive relationship! Bill is seen as the cooler Stan by her friends, mainly because of the fact he doesnât really act his age, and happily enables anything they want to do, and so whenever she needs something, she tends to go to him. (âNo hard feelings Stan!â) And If Stan taught her how to shoplift, Bill probably taught her how to get away with murder, not that sheâd really need that, the thought still counts. They also share similar music tastes, so when Billâs around the shack, heâll ask Wendy to blast some AC/DC while they work. Heâs also taught her all the ways to get under Stanâs skin, because he knows for a fact sheâll use them.
I think this AU too, heâs the one who showed her the rooftop spot. He encouraged any form of rebelling against the system, even if that means slacking and getting Stan to shout at both of them.
Thank you so much!? That means a lot to hear and I hope you continue to enjoy it!! And I appreciate it, Iâm trying to take it slow and answer whatever asks I can and when I can, to avoid getting overwhelmed.

Mai was introduced as a side character who makes quips and does morally questionable things. Her callousness and idgaf-ness are part of what distinguished her in such a large ensemble cast, and what made her initially funny, but these qualities also mean sheâd need a redemption arc if people are to root for her relationship with Zuko, whoâs the fan favourite.
Like you said, sheâs not a very good plot device for Zuko. IMO sheâs actually more of a plot device for Azula, since Mai and Ty Lee turning on Azula was the straw that broke the camelâs back. And unfortunately the ATLA writers had to make that betrayal contingent upon Zuko, because the audience loves Zuko and they didnât have time to give Mai a âactually imperialism is Badâ realisation of her own.
Mai is the classic brooding Byronic morally grey love interest, much moreso than Zuko ever was. She loves and protects him without ever really understanding his emotional needs, which is a common romance novel trope. The way Mai fits this particular masculine archetype makes her interesting to me, even though I donât think Zuko necessarily needs that type of energy in his romantic relationship.
i actually can't process why people don't like mai. is it because of the "i just asked if you were cold" scene. is that it. okay LISTEN i will go to bat for her. she says it herself in the beach episode, she's been raised to not share her opinion or like. care about anything. she probably deflects in that moment because it's obviously an emotionally heavy conversation and she's been told her entire life not to share her feelings. or share other people's feelings, tbh.
she's ngl pretty incompatible as a match for zuko, who is constantly full of feelings, and needs someone who can help him work through them in his life, like iroh or katara. but that does not make mai the stone cold bitch y'all haters want her to be. i promise she's fluffy on the inside, the stone cold bitch is but a thin outer shell that protects all the love and care she contains within herself

that i never really innately picked up on the fact that ciri turning out to be geraltâs daughter and not his son was⊠uhm, part of the entire surprise, letâs put it that way :â)
geralt and ciri are just soooo natural as a father and daughter duo that i canât imagine it any other way, if ciri had been a boy this would have been way less remarkable as a series, there would be no witcher series as we know it. so to me ciri being a girl was the normal and default, expected way things were supposed to go.
even when i read a question of price-sword of destiny-something more for the first times, i was like âokâ when ciri being a girl was a switch of expectations: geralt (and, supposedly, the reader) having expected pavetta to have a son. like⊠âalright, itâs a girl, so what.â
i had to be informed about how this was an intentional shock⊠not only because iâm not a parent, but i mean, well, ultrasounds get mixed up all the time, right⊠itâs not so uncommon to have a kid and be surprised by the genderâŠ
and because of this, i was more inclined to eyeroll at blood of elves being preachy with going over ciriâs biological sex what seemed like ten million times in chapters two and three⊠what with the whole âdaughter has her first periodâ subplot, ciri upset over her lack of potential strongmanship, and the witchers mostly relying on triss for guidance in raising a girl. the moral being both âjust raise her like any other childâ and âbe sensitive to her needs that youâre blind toâŠâ
although i still think these segments have visibly aged and date the series (not inherently a bad thing, just a quality of it)⊠they do make more sense when i try to empathize more with the perspective of a new father⊠who didnât know he was receiving a girl⊠who thought she died⊠who only got her back through a miracle⊠and having to raise a girl⊠thatâs not a young child anymore, not yet a teen, but is very shortly going to start going through puberty?! itâs like growing up in the desert, just learning what water is, and then getting thrown into the ocean.
because âhaving to raise a girlâ still doesnât seem that strange to me, but then i remember geralt didnât see a woman and only had heard about them as a concept until he was an adult (because âwarrior-monkâ realness), he grew up with a hole in his heart that his absent mother bore, he lives in a highly gendered society, he experiences hostility from everybody of course but especially from women and girls, who take fright at him for⊠specific reasons explained by the old women in edge of the worldâŠ
no, geraltâs not helpless, but i forget, because he acts normal, but⊠(i mean, although he has issues, he could have really gone off his rocker with regards to women, a little sacrifice confirms this and vilgefortz embodies this) i forget that geraltâs inexperience with women⊠mostly manifesting in anxiety and both uncertain and impulsive behavior⊠like ghosting with a nosegay of flowers, the âdear friendâ and all⊠would affect his view of the gender as a whole, including how he sees ciri. and it does.
in his situation, yes, having to raise a girl does intensify the element of âwhat the fuck am i doingâ. especially as a single dad.
and although i do like it when the pov shifts from geralt in the saga but just to another person in the room, for how he becomes more of a distant and enigmatic figure, seeing him through othersâ eyes always makes fills me with this uncertainty. buuuut, i would fucking adore blood of elves chapters two and three through geraltâs eyes just for how much of an emotional wreck he must have been⊠and trying not to show it to her :(
#i love geralt đ books geralt i will avenge you against the world !!!#the âsomething moreâ = she really loved him because he was a good father and loved her â đ€·đ»ââïž iâll lose my mind#actually straight up if ciri had been a boy then there would have been no saga#because the elder blood gene wouldnât fucking reactivate if she was a boy#also not funny to imagine how much boy ciri would have resembled emhyr đ#âkaer morhen is a monastery with swords and herbsâ so often forgotten#i swear up and down that cdpr gwent stories are not canon⊠but#one of the good things was dandelion meeting geralt and immediately wondering when he had last fucked and if he had ever fucked#and he started thinking about this because geralt went đïžđïž at a waitress or innkeeperâs ample bosom#this is literally so in character for both of them i was surprised it was fanfiction#that and the structure of the story was really resonate with their characters#âthere is going to be a weddingâ âthere is going to be a funeralâ they did a great job with that#it did feel like games characterization but overall high standards#day 1 meeting in posada dandelion asks geralt if he still has his balls or if they⊠as part of his training#not in a mean way but in a very casual tone resembling âso howâd you get into this line of workâ chat#the elbow-high diaries

Hey Nalyra, I always see your posts and love how you explain things and I got some questions and wondered if you could help me understand this.
So in 2x06, in that scene where Armand, Louis, Claudia and Madelaine were sitting together, right before Armand sends the coven to kidnap them, do you think this actually happened like we were told? Because it doesnât really make sense to me. All Armand wanted was to be loved right? And Madelaine told Armand she could feel Louis' love for him so why would he still allow Santiago to take them?
Unless the love Madelaine felt wasnât actually towards Armand but Lestat (which she couldnât know because she didnât even know about him) and Armand could read Louis' mind and knew that he was thinking about Lestat and not him? I know this show is really complex but is this a bit too far fetched or still possible?
Like it just doesnât make any sense cuz why would Armand want Louis to die if he thought he actually loved him? Claudia wanted to go travel the world with Madeleine so he would even have Louis all for himself. They could have fled and left Paris but instead he set him up to die.
So either Armand didnât tell the truth about what actually happened in that bar (or idk maybe he just made that part up where Madeleine talks about Louis loving him?) or it did happen but Armand once again realized that Louis will never be completely his and always love Lestat.
I would love to hear your thoughts about this (sorry if you already answered this). Have a great day and Thankss đ©”
Hey!
So.... I think I did talk about this before, but didn't tag it properly, so here goes :)
In real short:
Armand knew Louis didn't really love him. And that the love talked about there was the love Louis felt for Lestat. And that scene was something like the final straw, him standing up and leaving them to the wiles of the coven the final statement.
Let's dig in a bit:
The scene in the café serves a few different narrative purposes.
For one, it (and the scene after Louis turns Madeleine, where he opens his veins) opens up the fledgling-maker-connection further. It establishes that fledglings can feel their makers. The emotions of their makers, and vice versa.
And then, it establishes that there is a love that Louis feels, that he has not voiced - and Madeleine thinks it is his love for Armand.
And finally, it establishes that Armand is not happy about Madeleine commenting on it, on the contrary, it, and the ribbing Louis subjects him to there hurts him.
On top of it all though... it also carries a few hints that it probably did not happen as shown, for example
Claudia thanking Armand for never treating her like a child(?)
Her calling Louis 'Daddy Lou'(?? at this point?)
But let's take it as seen for now.
There are a few additional things to consider:
within the narrative - and at this point Louis and the audience did not know that yet - Lestat had been close for a few weeks, likely months already. Meaning Louis had felt Lestat - and had probably thought he was going mad.
Louis had told Armand he loved him before, in that scene where he mocks himself via his inner DreamStat - so when Madeleine asks Louis why he does not tell Armand how much he loves him... Louis and Armand both know that it's not Armand this reluctance pertains to.
Louis literally stops himself quoting Lestat there when Madeleine says she cannot read Louis mind.
Armand sets them up there, serves the Judas' Kiss even, knowing everything already.
He knows Lestat is near. He knows the love Louis feels is the one he has for Lestat, and likely feels from Lestat. He knows Louis probably does not know what to make of it, which is also when Madeleine pushes why Louis falls to (quite vicious) ribbing: "Okay, well, let's get the hell out of my soul! He gets enough affection. I don't need his head getting too big to get out the door."
(I actually said 'ouch' out loud then.)
Louis is clearly withholding in his relationship with Armand (as well), by his own admission here. The withholding has been stated from the writers as a characteristic, and it fits with book canon.
Armand knows the love Madeleine feels from Louis there is not the one for him, but for Lestat, even if Louis may not know it yet.
If you look at the gifs for the whole scene, then it is clearly in both past and present - the knowledge, the pain, the betrayal, the perceived betrayal (that Armand feels from Louis), the shame.
Armand was the one who froze the whole café so the coven could get them. Armand is the one who turned his back, the discussion just before likely the last straw that broke the proverbial camel's back.
Remember 2x03, Armand's story of how he loved Lestat - there is more to it all, more we will see next season, but this, there, was rejection, on multiple levels - again.
And it broke Armand's heart. And I feel for him! But ... it was never the love either of them wanted it to be - for Louis this was a rebound, and for Armand, it was a need, and then a frantic shaping of Louis, into what he wanted Louis to be. He (later on at least) sees Louis as a vessel for himself, which is, of course, also something that developed from that betrayal.
Because yes - on top of it all, on top of all the facts there, known and yet unknown to the various people... Armand could also read Louis' mind.
He knew.
Ultimately, it won't matter how much of the scene is the truth, or not. The betrayal happened. The reasons for it will still stand. And those reasons have always and will always include Lestat, and the feelings Louis, Lestat and Armand have for each other - or (certain) lack thereof. The next season will make that a lot clearer still.

every once in a while I remember Stolas doesn't know (or is too dense to realize) Paimon bought Blitzo's company as a kid and they were never really friends
any other writer would leap on the chance to play popping Stolas' fantasies for drama like a lion leaping on a gazelle
but I think Viv either won't or can't, because she can't do anything that would make Stolas' worldview that they had a magical day together as kids and he "loved" Blitzo ever since super questionable because Blitzo did not want to be there, look incorrect
same with the weird aversion the show has to bringing up Blitzo stole the book. short of it coming up in the finale, it's really weird it's the one thing that has never been used against Blitzo despite it being the one thing he did do that was wrong (even if sympathetic, insert eat the rich the royalty shouldn't get all the power rant here)
and I think it's for the same reason. if the theft is acknowledged again then it would look really weird in a world where Stolas' one excuse is supposedly that he thought Blitzo was actually mutually into him so it's totally not sexual coercion we swear
but if the dialogue acknowledges Blitzo stole then it reminds the audience Stolas knew all along Blitzo was just out for his book and leveraged that against him. there's no comfortable lie if it's once again just a fantasy and the reality is that every night on the full moon Blitzo did not want to be there (noticing a pattern here?)
I feel like on the slim chance it ever does come up again, it's going to be played solely for Stolas pity points and "Blitz is a terrible abusive mean person who hurt Stolas's precious golden feelings."
Blood+ actually did this and did it much better. The main character was originally a selfish, coddled little jerk and her eventual love interest was purchased as a playmate for her, and the moment when he snaps and reveals this comes fairly early on in their time together. She gives him a hug and asks if there's anything she can do for him, and it makes a turning point in their relationship.

As the number one âI hate how misconstrued the secret soulmates scenario was and while both Scar and Grian were wrong I think Scar was more wrongâ person in the fandom I figure I should share my thoughts on the âScar Secret Soulmate Question that Grian showed up for and they argued for a few secondsâ moment
Warning for being a fandom type of fan talking about characters and stuff itâs not really that serious PS I loved the scene it was so funny
First of all LOLL I loved that moment. So good
ANYWAYS
I donât see anything ooc about the interaction (whatever that means). I loved it, and bringing up âpast season dramaâ when thatâs a whole thing with Gem and Pearl is hilarious. With that out of the way, time to dissect the (literal two) things they said about the situation to each other for the fun of it!!!
First, Grianâs âBigB treated me rightâ
Itâs funny cuz the more I think about it, I canât really think of much of anything BigB did for Grian really. Grian gave BigB a ton of stuff and I canât really remember anything BigB did for him in return? He was just nice I guess. Yeah okay the cookies yea I was thinking something USEFUL but case in point: Grian was just looking for someone to be NICE to him. BigB didnât give Grian many valuables or anything but he gave him cookies shaped something like a heart and risked his relationship to be by his side. Meanwhile Scar treated Grian not-right. Scar was actually able to provide some valuables for the team but he wasnât treating Grian the way BigB was.
And Scarâs argument?
âI built a panda sanctuary for you!â
Liar. You built that for yourself. You KNEW Grian hated the pandas. Itâs sort of just proof that Scar really didnât pay Grian enough attention in their relationship, yknow? The fact that his argument for how he was actually the better soulmate was âI built something that you tried to stop me from buildingâ. Like bro thatâs not gonna change his mind.
âSo you can pet pandas!â
But maybe he did remember Grian hated the pandas. But he still brings this up because he didnât care what Grian wanted, he was busy doing what he thought was best. âSure, Grian didnât want me building the sanctuary, but I did anyways and it was great. He should appreciate me for that. Itâs everything you could want. He has no reason to like BigB more than me.â
He did build the sanctuary as a coupleâs retreat.
âŠ
Yeah I donât have much more to say, I just wanted to get those thoughts out cuz MAN I was thinking about it haha.
If you donât understand me, you should go find my post on why I think Scar was toxic in DL.
And for further clarification: I defend Scar always. Itâs just I only BARELY defend him in DL so Iâm mostly attacking him cuz no one else is LOL. But like currently in Wild Life I think Scar is the perfect angel and when heâs trying to be friends with Grian Iâm like *through gritted teeth* âwhatever makes you happy sweetheartâ like as if my daughter immediately got back with her ex but where most people act like the analogy is about Scar and Grianâs relationship being bad in DL for ME itâs all about Wild Life. Like Wild Life Grian does NOT deserve Scar but Scar wants to make amends so sure buddy⊠đ

Desperate for those final few Canât Find Out! So excited! So here is a prompt for one of them!
I'm sorry I made everyone wait so long for this! It's, like, three weeks past when it came up in my queue. But it needed some extra brain energy, so I had to wait for the right moment. I hope it lives up to expectations!
Edit: As usual, I forgot to link the rest of the series. Here it is: https://archiveofourown.org/series/3953044

Tony has brought Stephen food again. Not just take out, this time; Stephen is almost certain that Tony made this pasta himself. Possibly a family recipe. Tony hadnât said so, but he was masking nervousness when he handed it over, and when Stephen made an involuntary noise of appreciation at the first mouthful, Tony had looked pleased in a way that you just didnât when you were supplying take out.
The take out itself had been inappropriate, given their dynamics and mating status. This meal⊠This meal would be grounds for bond dissolution in some places. God only knew what Pepper thought of it; Stephen was certain that Tony hadnât been hiding anything from her. Most likely, sheâd rolled her eyes at Tonyâs blithe disregard of social mores.Â
Stephen, for his part, has long since abandoned any shame heâd once felt for accepting these gestures as if they were real. What harm does it do to pretend for a moment that Tony is courting him? Stephen is the only one who knows, and heâs careful to accept, but not respond.Â
âThat was incredible,â Stephen says when heâs wiped up the last of the sauce with a bit of bread and finished that off, too.Â
Tony still has food in front of him; heâs been watching Stephen eat. âThanks,â he says. âItâs been years since I made it; I was a little afraid it wouldnât come out right.â
He had made it himself. âYears? Why so long?â
âBusy, mostly,â Tony says. Stephen waits, because it seems like thereâs more to it. âThe longer I went without making it,â Tony eventually goes on, âthe more it seemed like I should save it for a special occasion.â
Stephenâs mouth goes dry. âI guess you gave up on that.â
Tony shakes his head.Â
Oh God. Stephen knew he should have cut all contact after Thanos. He was going to tear Tonyâs life apart without even trying, how could he have been so selfish? âTonyââ
âHave I ever told you how Pepper and I got bonded?â Tony breaks in.
Stephen snaps his mouth shut. âNo.â He doesnât particularly want to hear this story, but he probably deserves to.
âI had this big interview scheduled,â Tony says. âWe were in the green room getting ready. Pepper was going over this endless list of questions with me. What theyâd probably ask, things weâd told them were off limits, that sort of thing.â He pauses and Stephen nods for him to go on, confused. This doesnât sound like a romantic story. âProbably three quarters of the questions on the listâexpected and bannedâwere about my relationship status. I was supposed to be talking about Iron Man and clean energy and the expansion of SIâs medical technology division and all they wanted to know was who I was dating and what I wanted out of a marriage." Tony snorted. âSo I complain to Pepper, of course, and she says, âAt least they donât shut you out of meetings because unmated omegas are âvolatile.ââ Stephen winces. Heâs heard that one, too. Tony continues, âSo I say, âHey, if we got bonded, we could kill two birds with one stone.ââ
Stephen waits for a long minute for the story to continue, but Tony just waits. âI⊠donât understand,â Stephen says. He canât understand. It canât be what it sounds like. His heart starts pounding anyway.
âStephen, Pepper and I were never a love match,â Tony says carefully. âWeâre friends, but we got bonded for the convenience of our careers, not because we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. I donât consider myself mated, and neither does she.â
It feels like the world has dropped away from Stephen, like he might have accidentally slipped out of phase with reality. âBut you love Pepper,â he says helplessly. âFourteen million futures, Tony. I know you love Pepper.â
âYeah, I do,â Tony affirms. âSheâs my best friend. Sheâs been with me through everything. Of course I love her. Iâd be wrecked if I lost her.â He had been, more than once, in those futures. âBut that doesnât mean our relationship is romantic. Weâve never seen each other that way.â
Stephen looks at his empty plate. He touches the edge of it with a trembling hand. âA special occasion, you said.â
Tony smiles. âWell. Iâve never initiated a courtship before.â He pauses for a long moment, then smirks. âUnless youâre still carrying a torch for your mystery alpha.â
That smirk. Stephen laughsâmaybe just a little too sharplyâand shakes his head. âWhen did you figure it out?â
âNot me,â Tony admits. âPepper.â
âOf course it was Pepper,â Stephen sighs. He really should have been more discreet around her, but itâs hard to regret it now.
Tony stands and comes around the Sanctumâs kitchen table, standing next to Stephen and holding out both of his hands. Stephen pushes back from the table and takes Tonyâs hands, letting the alpha pull him to his feet. Tonyâs grip is gentle, but not at all tentative.Â
âSo what do you say?â Tony asks. âYouâve already had god knows how many lifetimes with me. You up for one more?â
As if there was any doubt. âAlways.âÂ
Tony pulls him into a kiss, and Stephen finally comes home.

Thermodynamics and Turmoil (Curly x Reader pt.3)
And so we introduce a catalyst that yields the product from the buildup of the last two parts... (sorry, I'm just a huge chemistry nerd if you couldn't already tell) I'm having a hard time deciding what direction to take this story in, but I hope it's still a good read. Does incorporated smut sound like a good idea for this series? Let me know.

The next few weeks were hard for (Y/N) to stay focused. â(Y/N), are you alright? Every time Iâve talked to you recently you havenât really heard anything I say.â
âIâm so sorry, Anya,â she sighed. âI guess I have a lot to think about.â
Anya rolled over on her bed to face her bunkmate, resting her chin on her hands. âWhatâs going on? Iâm asking as a friend, not as some sterile clinician trying to conduct a psychological study.â
(Y/N) laughed at that, unsure if Anya was saying that as a joke or if she was self-aware of how monotonous she always gets when reading off the questions she asks every week. âYouâve been on the Tulpar with this crew for how long now?â
âGive or take six to seven years. At least with Swansea and Captain Curly. Jimmy was a new addition a year or two ago. This was a job to give me some income and clinical experience as I was studying and applying for medical school.â
âI see. Do you feel particularly close with the two of them? Or even Jimmy?â (Y/N) was on her side now, facing Anya.
âSwansea is like a father figure to me. A rough one for sure, but for a couple of months in between trips Iâve babysat his kids in between taking and retaking the MCAT. Heâs been supportive of me in his own way. I never could get close to the captain. Thereâs just a power dynamic there that makes it a strictly professional relationship. As for Jimmy⊠heâs off-putting to me, but I canât quite put a finger on why. He just gives me the creeps.â
She nodded, agreeing with Anya about Jimmy. There was something uncomfortable about him but she was relieved that their interactions stayed minimal. Revisiting what she had to say about Curly, however, her mind wandered. There had been a power dynamic between the two of them for sure, in addition to a little bit of an age gap, but the more they talked, the more their interactions mirrored that of old friends. Their conversation flowed so easily and never resorted to small talk, as it did when she was forced to interact with Jimmy.Â
âWhy did you ask?â Anya cut her out of her thoughts.Â
âOh, I donât know. As one of the new ones here Iâm trying to figure out my place in this crew. Thatâs all.â (Y/N) said vaguely. âIâm so grateful to have you here, Anya. Youâve been such a great friend to me ever since I joined, and itâs such a relief to at least have another woman here.âÂ
Anya chuckled, âI understand. Sometimes thereâs just too much testosterone on this ship. Iâm glad youâre here too.â
Ending their conversation shortly after, (Y/N) got up to turn the lights off and the two went to bed. Lying down, sleep didnât find her easily as her mind swarmed. After truly getting to know him, (Y/N) found Curly nothing but kind, gentle, compassionate, and easy to talk to; the fact that he was so handsome was an added bonus. She was stuck on what to do from here. Something she knew about herself was that it was so easy for people to read the emotions right off her faceâ it was always hard for (Y/N) to hide her feelings. There was no way he could find out how she felt â for one, he was technically her boss, but also she knew that if he knew, that would be another added responsibility on his end not to hurt her feelings and keep civil for the entire year they were out in space.Â
So she stayed away as much as she could, sitting at least one person away from him during group meals, keeping conversations short and light, going to bed earlier rather than staying in the lounge late in the evenings to do work or relax.Â
Several times, Curly would try to seek her out to check in and see how she was doing, or just start a conversation with her, but she would give him terse answers and make up excuses, saying that Swansea needed her or that she needed to check something somewhere. This would leave Curly dejected and confused.
One day, it was getting hot in the utility room as (Y/N) moved equipment around to organise. With the few major things she needed to take care of out of the way today, she offered to help Swansea with whatever he needed while he and Daisuke âcleaned up the mess that Numbnuts over here made over by the hallwayâ, as he put it. The mess he was referring to was a bit of foam that escaped from a pipe that Daisuke hit after getting too excited about Swansea letting him screw the pipes shut all by himself. They both left, Swansea grumbling and holding the axe to cut away at the foam and Daisuke with a rubbish bag saying, âclean up on aisle four!â
Wiping the sweat off her brow, she unzipped her work jumper halfway and shed the long sleeves of the top part, tying it securely around her waist. Underneath she chose to wear a simple white tank top today, which worked well to her advantage. Squatting down to pick up a particularly heavy box, she let out a heave as she lifted it up, turning around to be met with the sight of Curly at the door.Â
Flustered in the state she was in, she nearly dropped the box. âC-Captain! You startled me. What are you doing here? Are you looking for Swansea? He and Daisuke shouldnât be too far. They just left to clean up some foam that escaped from a pipe. They wonât be long, I think.â (Y/N) rapid-fire answered without a word from the captain. While doing so she missed the glint in his eye. He walked over to her to pick up the heavy box out of her arms as she motioned where it needed to be.Â
âActually, I was on my way to the cockpit when I noticed the utility room door open and saw you in here. I feel like we havenât really talked in a while. Are you okay?â He frowned.
âWhat do you mean? Of course I am. And you talk to me all the time â Iâm always bumping into you and have been getting better about eating meals with everyone. We talk then, too. Things have just been busy lately, thatâs all.â She said nervously.Â
Curly narrowed his eyes at her and walked right up in front of her, staring her down. âI feel like youâve been avoiding me lately. What happened?â
The closer he got to (Y/N), the more she backed away until she was cornered by a cryo pod. âN-Nothing! I swear I wouldnât avoid you!â She lied. His proximity was making her feel hotter and she could feel her face burning up, and the awareness of her blush only made her more flustered because of it.Â
He put a hand on the pod behind her, effectively caging her in. âHmm, bullshit.â She had never heard him swear before, but hearing it now for the first time turned her on in a way she didnât want to admit. âYou know,â he started. âA few weeks ago as I was going to the lounge I heard Daisuke yell out something interesting. Something about you wanting to do something with me?â He raised an eyebrow. âKnow anything about that, hm?â Dammit, Daisuke, she knew he was being too loud.Â
Panicked, she didnât know what to do in this situation. She could continue to lie through her teeth, as unsuccessful as that was already, or rip off the bandaid and admit it, apologise profusely, and sign her will before she died from an overdose of embarrassment. But before she could utter a weak excuse, Curly answered for her, his gaze growing softer with his voice.
âTell me, please, if you donât want this, Iâll leave. Iâll pretend this never happened and apologise for misreading the signals. Weâll go back to how we were before all of this.â His eyes grew half-lidded as he bent his neck down, bringing his face closer to hers. âDo you want this?â
âYes.â She said shakily. Slowly, he cupped his hand around her face, gentle and cautious. Hot breath fanned at her lips before slowly pressing against hers gingerly, like he was trying to savour something decadent. His other hand moved to her waist, pulling her closer to him as she wrapped both arms around his neck, standing on her toes now to push more of herself into him. Swiping her tongue over his bottom lip, he let out a content sigh, deepening the kiss even further. Every small sound she made only made him hungrier for more, and Curly swore if they continued he would never want to stop. Breaking off the kiss, he looked down at her, pupils dilated and lips flush and swollen.Â
âI donât think I could get enough of you,â he panted. Just as they were about to go in for another kiss, the loud voice of Daisuke could be heard echoing through the halls, indicating that Swansea and him had finished cleaning up the foam and were headed back. Wordlessly, Curly placed one last kiss on her lips with a tender look and quickly slipped out to go to the cockpit before he got caught.Â
âJeez, that took forever! I promise Iâll be more careful next time, Swansea. Clearing out the foam is tedious work. Oh hey (Y/N) howâs it going? Damn, you mustâve worked up a sweat moving all of those boxes because you look hot! Eugh, that came out weird I swear I mean like the tempââ
Speechless from what had just transpired, (Y/N) left the utility room.
Isn't consent just so sexy? There's nothing like a little ask before macking, guys, never forget

Ok, so this question has been hurting my head for a while and I had to ask this because I love your analysis of Rhaenys's character.
How do you think Rhaenys's relationship maintained with these people over the years?
Daemon, Viserys, Aemma, her mother Jocelyn, Jaehaerys, Alysanne, Laena, and Laenor.
I'm so sorry if it is too much to ask!
Hello! Okay, so I'm going to keep this brief because that's quite a lot of people and so I'm just going to go with general vibes and first thoughts, and stick with later-in-life stuff rather than childhood, and if you want me to go into more specifics or have any questions, then absolutely follow up. It's based mostly on the show but for some characters, I have used book facts and events.
DAEMON: I think the big thing that I have, as a personal headcanon (or just the way I look at the relationship) with Daemon is that Rhaenys has to make an active choice, probably fairly early on, that she cannot love him. She can't let herself. Eve has spoken before about how Rhaenys keeps Daemon at arms' length and how she has a profound distrust of him and sees him as just this chaotic element, so I think that she makes a decision that there have to be boundaries in place. Just for her own sense of safety and stability. Daemon orbits her family: they're blood but also he goes to war with her husband and son, he marries her daughter, he's the father of her granddaughters. But I think Rhaenys is just far too aware that he hurts. He causes immeasurable pain and, in the end, there's an understanding of him - he will never spite himself to help her: he keeps her daughter from her, he "murders" her son, he has respect for her but little regard.
I think the relationship ebbs and flows from enjoying his company, tolerating him and then wanting nothing to do with him. It alters throughout the years but she will never be caught out by him. I don't think she really likes him. Perhaps for the boy he was, she does - they are definitely still familial. What Daemon gives, he gets in return, I think.
VISERYS: There's love there. It's one of the relationships that I find the most tragic because they're cousins torn apart by the choices of others and the positions they find themselves in. They can never be as close as they want to be. I think Rhaenys's first loyalty is to the home and house she's built with her husband, which directly conflicts with Viserys, on occasion. I think they probably did go three years without speaking to one another (possibly missives to congratulate on births etc but nothing of note) because of the Stepstones War.
I think it does become "us vs them" with Rhaenys on the outside because his family keeps being responsible for the destruction of hers. And then we get to this place where he's having this happy family meal and she's in a crypt. When you think about how close their fathers were and how close they might have been or wanted to be, once upon a time, then that's tragedy.
AEMMA: Poor Aemma. We don't see them ever interact in the show, but it's easy enough to imagine that they were friends from childhood and family in that way. I think they grew apart, in adulthood, given the way their lives went. But we have deleted dialogue where Rhaenyra recounts coming to Driftmark with Aemma and collecting seashells with Laena. I like to imagine that wasn't too infrequent. I think they probably kept in touch via letters: neither woman had many female relations to speak to.
JOCELYN: My opinion is that Jocelyn lives at High Tide after Aemon's death, until her own. So, maintaining that relationship is pretty easy as they live in the same place. We don't know when Jocelyn dies or how. But I sort of take my opinion that Rhaenys isn't too dissimilar to her parents and that Jocelyn and Rhaenys probably relied heavily on one another. I think she would have been a very present and active grandmother: she had no other duties, nowhere else to be, nothing else to do.
JAEHAERYS: My feeling is, a bit like with Daemon and, to a lesser extent, Viserys, that when it becomes an "us vs them" she cuts the feeling off as much as possible. When Jaehaerys chooses someone else as his heir, when she is discarded, she has to stop treating him in the same way she once did. She has to choose herself, she has to be something different. I think, in the latter years, she'd only go to court if summoned. She'd only act the part in public.
I think she probably understands and sympathisers with her grandfather and the choices he made (to a point) but she doesn't agree, she doesn't find comfort in that, it hurts and she's aware that there is a danger now, to her, because of the choices he makes. I don't know if I'd say she hates him. I think, certainly by the time we get to HOTD, the feelings have been processed somewhat and Rhaenys is someone who doesn't waste time on things that won't accomplish anything.
I think it's also, likely, easier to do so because I don't think she sees him as family from her father's death onwards. The most prevalent thing he is to her is her King. And once Alysanne retires from King's Landing, she has no reason to return until Jaehaerys is on his deathbed. I imagine she'd visit him on his deathbed.
ALYSANNE: She loved Alysanne. So, I'm thinking letters, visits, dragon flights. I think Rhaenys visits her whenever she's on Dragonstone and then writes when she's in King's Landing. I think Alysanne would visit Driftmark, if allowed or it was okay PR-wise. I think that Rhaenys could have become a primary visitor or carer for Alysanne when her body and wits began failing. Alysanne never forsook her, or her children. Alysanne would understand things so many wouldn't: marriage, children, dragons, being a Targaryen. And it's reciprocated.
LAENA: Letters. So many letters. I think mother and daughter were very close. It kills me to know that Rhaenys knew of Laena's desire to not just come back home, but to remain there. To stay and be close to her family, rather than be across the Narrow Sea. For Rhaenys to know this, and to know it was Daemon who was causing the problem, tells me that Laena told her and therefore feels confident in her mother as a confidante. It's also worth keeping in mind that, for at least three years, it was just Rhaenys and Laena together - whilst Corlys and Laenor were in the Stepstones. And then it was Laena almost as an only child again until she was married.
We know how Rhaenys reacted to her death, to her funeral, to her daughters, to her legacy. Moreover, we know that Laena has been raised by her mother with her eyes wide open - it's Rhaenys who informs a 12-year-old Laena that she will not have to bed Viserys until she is 14, it's Rhaenys who overlooks the walk with Viserys and (at least I presume) picks her up at the end of it. I think Rhaenys just loved the bones off of that girl and was so proud of the woman she became.
LAENOR: Similarly, once he's married, I think it's letters. However, I don't believe they are as candid as Laena's. I think Laenor probably retreats into formality - we know that he doesn't even divulge incriminating details in letters to Laena, his sister whom he adored. There are so many things he'd just not want to discuss with his mother: things she'd worry about. I think Rhaenys visits court when she can and when she's invited. Whether that's often, I couldn't say. She does seem to be in tune with the cost the arrangement of his marriage takes on Laenor, however, when she mentions it to Corlys in Episode 07.
I don't think the distance has quite taken root but I think she fears something drastic will happen to the relationship. She sees her son's misery and she fears losing him from an emotional perspective. She fears a precipice or an implosion: a breaking point. I think she wants change, in Episode 07. Maybe she hopes that something can be done and it seems to be on her to do it, whatever it is. Maybe she'd also hope that the move to Dragonstone would help - Dragonstone is closer to Driftmark.
Of course, she does end up losing him in a way she couldn't imagine. And whatever hopes she could have had die with her.
