okay i want a mainline Pokémon game where the ‘end of the world’ plot scenario is actually the work of the legendaries. i want the final boss plot battle to be the protag taking on the legendary pokemon and the legendary understanding the protag’s feelings and choosing not to destroy humanity. i want the legendary to be telepathic and as spiteful of the human race as mewtwo. i want the legendary to be the party that’s critical of humanity and will take any means to destroy it. i want the bad guys to genuinely be a criminal organisation that all the npcs are theorising have a ‘weather machine’ theyre using to bring on the end through catastrophic weather but when you face their final boss and discover the extreme weather doesnt stop after defeating them, they go ‘wait we just steal Pokémon. Us stealing all those castform, or other weather-based original Pokémon for the series, that was purely coincidence.’ i want one of the rivals to be the other playable character and also catch the opposing legendary, also through bonding to do their best to save humanity, to battle you with their legendary just before you face the elite four. and i want the champion to join you on uncovering the catastrophic weather, see your development and look forward to battling you with that respect in mind. I want another genuinely sketchy rival like silver, who is nasty for the sake of being nasty. and additionally, I’d make it seasonal to encourage longer gameplay engagement (# bw supremacy). imagine the possibilities this could open up in choosing your characters dialogue. the possibilities of locking certain Pokémon to in-game weather events. this is the next Pokémon game I want.

hi i have some disorganized thoughts/hcs abt the found family human doctor au

(one of the thoughts being i should really give it a better name. another being YES this is only the nuwho doctors atm bc that's the only series i've watched so far apologies. if i ever get around to watching classic who i will add them trust)

BEHOLD my random, not at all in-depth headcanons

nine is the only one with a car out of all of them. they all keep bugging him to drive/pick them up from places -- he has mixed feelings about being the assigned taxi driver

both twelve and eleven are teachers -- college professor and preschool teacher respectively. twelve's students love them because he will say the most stupid, hilarious shit with a straight face without even knowing and eleven's students love him because he is the only teacher at the school that will dance with them during musical chairs (he doesn't even play the game. he just dances)

i want to make one of them an actual doctor but i don't think any of them could handle it unfortunately

they all share an an apartment flat on the same level -- nine, twelve and fifteen live in one room, ten, eleven and thirteen live in the one across from them. of course there are other people in the building too but they're all used to the strange loud hyperactivity of that particular flat. i think i'm using the right terminology here. yall know what im talking about

nine and ten are the most insomniac of all of them, so they're used to bumping each other in the dead of night on their way to raid each other's respective fridges or something. very rarely thirteen will join them and they're like "WELL FANCY SEEING YOU HERE"

twelve does sleep, but like. he's nocturnal

eleven and ten hate each other in a sibling kind of way (see: day of the doctor). they are constantly sending each other death threats or tripping each other over. everyone is sick of it

sometimes when they're out shopping you'll hear ten yell "GET OUT OF THE FROZEN FOOD YOU NUMPTY WE ARE NOT BUYING FISH FINGERS" over the aisles and you'll hear eleven whine "WHY DO YOU HATE ME SO MUCH" back

(if you're lucky you'll be able to catch fifteen mumble "why did we put them in the same apartment. are we asking for an eviction notice")

eventually eleven will pick a random stray cat off the side of the road, take her home, and name her bowtie, which is a stupid name, so everyone just defaults to calling her kitty

kitty's favourite person is twelve, to eleven's absolute despair

(my original idea for this was to initially have ten hate the idea of living with a cat, since he's stated full on in the show that he doesn't like cats, but apparently there is some very obscure doctor who comic run in which he falls into a depressive spiral and adopts a cat whom he names rose-the-cat, so he might actually like cats idk?)

anyway ten hates her until he doesn't lmao. he vents to her when there's no one else home and she will Stare at him back and it is a very nice friendship

kitty and nine watch shitty romcom together

they have a joint groupchat together -- half of it is just thirteen and fifteen assigning everyone outfits they find on pinterest and the other half is eleven asking where everyone went (he keeps getting lost when they go out)

nine doesn't know how to download pictures off the internet and so resorts to manually editing memes together to send to the groupchat and everyone's like "girl that's so much more effort........."

(yes he doesn't know how to press save image to camera roll but he knows how to use a photo editor flawlessly. such is the logic of the idiocy of the doctors)

eleven and thirteen get along very well i think. they're the only two of the group to play video games and so they bond over that. they also have ridiculously similar clothing taste

sometimes they'll succeed in getting fifteen to play pokemon with them and then they'll proceed to not see him until the next day when he comes out of his room and goes "you didn't tell me plusle couldn't evolve i've been levelling it up all fucking night"

friday is assigned movie night (it's always big hero 6)

eleven is the only one to actively seek out physical affection, usually really abruptly like clinging to thirteen's back as she passes him in the hall or bapping ten with the palm of his hand until he sighs and gives him a hug. he does expect a platonic kiss on the forehead from anyone before he goes to bed and will complain if he doesn't get one

anyway thats it i'm sick in the head and really sad. if this keeps up i may be forced to actually write a fic

Was reading thru ur answered asks again (also hey lol i CAME BACK--) and like. Oh my god. It gave me The Most Idea.

So you get isekaied to Teyvat right? They hear your og language, they revere every single worf from your mouth, yadda yadda yadda. But like. How does SLANG AND THE OTHER ASPECTS OF UR OG LANGUAGE translate. I am having VERY heavy flashbacks to Pokemons "jelly filled donuts".

So like-- for example: (this is the first one that came to my head dont judge me i am tumblr trash) (lets also assume that traveler has perfect understanding of ur language and slang and all the nuances of it)

Lets say you and the traveler were hanging out with some of the Vision holders, and the traveler had some shenanigans and pranks or something planned. After they pull their shit, you say "i hate you so much (affectionate)". Which kind of throws the Vessels in for a loop because like-- their god literally just said they HATED someone. And hate is a PRETTY STRONG WORD. So they should DEFINITELY strike them down for catching their gods ire but-- AFFECTIONATE????? how does one hate someone affectionately???????? Does this mean their god hates the traveler but decided to recind their hate last second? Is it some form of Divine and Holy emotion that cannot be described by the mere words of their language????

Meanwhile youre just there vibin and having a blast with the traveler while you casually give them a philosophical crisis AHAHAHA

Another example is shortened words-- because i know teyvat doesnt have shit like "ily" or "omg" or "lmao" or "fyi" or "brb". Because honestly, without the cultural knowledge and background of the internet, these sets of letters are just fucking GIBBERISH.

And i know that like-- i know enough internet slang abbreviations that i can literally just talk in jumbles of letters, so how in the WORLD would the vessels interpret that? Because its very clear that their god is just using the letters of their language, HELL they might even use Teyvatian letters so what in the world are they saying????

So theyd just hear a convo between the traveler and reader thats like:

Reader: traveler, i gtg asap; tldr i forgot some stuff back in the cr brb

I know some people (mostly those toxic pokemon fans) REALLY don't like Goh, and it upsets me bc it feels like me and them watched a completely different character on screen.

okay there's some instances (yes im saying this 💀) where even i think goh went a bit too far like even though i think it's sick he caught suicune i do get why people were so mad about it? but cmon that was a bit too much hate 😭

Ash hadn't caught any legendaries his entire journey so yeah Goh catching suicune at the early-ish start of his journey was....just a bit like oh ok wow even for me lmao but yk that topic will probably never calm down lets be honest

Then there's him just catching every pokemon without battling, that I also get why ppl are mad because I was rewatching the unova anime a few days ago and a lot of the episodes had an emphasis onbattling before catching, and you can say that goes for the rest of the pokemon anime after that too...up until journeys 😂

Goh is a bit of a rulebreaker in that instance, i get that, but if people hate him taking so much screentime for Ash

(heads up the episode where goh goes on vacation and meets tokio again is the 1st episode in the anime history without any scene of Ash in it at ALL which is pretty crazy)

then I'm sure we wouldn't want to see Goh battle e v e r y single pokemon he catches, like his goal is literally to catchem all as well BUT BUT THEN AGAIN, that arguement is pretty weak i guess, and i understand why people would be mad, but I really dont like when they genuinely just hate him excessively 😭😭

Okay haven't had one of these in a while, but it's 1 am on a Tuesday night or Wednesday morning and I've lost all control of my life.

So who wants to read another crazy Pokemon theory that'll probably not bare fruit?

This one is fairly simple: Pokemon SV's story is "closed." Imo, much like the rest of the game, the story feels unfinished even with DLC.

Terapagos is most likely the special Hexagon Pokemon mentioned in the Violet book, and it does have the ability to bring people to the future. However, Heath speaks about talking with someone in a faraway place in an almost dream like state, and that's never expanded on.

Then something else: he describes not being able to tell if the Hexoganal Pokemon was, in fact, a Pokemon. I know it's 90% Terapagos, but look at him. That looks like a Pokemon to me, right?

But then... I had a thought.

The Exploration of Area Zero was 200 years ago.

The events of Legends Arceus ALSO take place 200 years ago.

Spain/Paldea is right next to France/Kalos.

The current fan theory is that Z-A will take place during the Paris Renovation, which is, you guessed it, 200 years ago.

And yall. Look at the Z

Zygarde ALSO has Hexagons. Zygarde is DEFINITELY a "wtf is that???" looking Pokemon, no matter what form you look at.

Now this probably means nothing, and GF hate giving satisfying conclusions because "they like mystery"/are too lazy to finish a story sometimes and would rather players do it themselves.

BUT remember when they retconned Lucario from being the first Pokemon to undergo Mega Evolution only a game later with Rayquaza? Same gen and all.

despite my main form of art being physical, i think i prefer to "consume", for lack of a better word, anything language related, like stories, poetry, and music.

i think honestly its because music/language has been such a huge part of my life since birth, like my mom would constantly be playing music when she was watching me, and i (essentially) taught myself to read by the age of three so ive just always had a penchant for language and i find it so incredibly interesting

and his whole arc before he dies is like. him turning his back on the dragon hunters to help hiccup and the skrill escape and like. idk it fit his character so well at the time he had such good development i love rtte sm watch it watch it watch it watc-

Is it weird that I feel genuine pity and sorrow for the raising harmony Ghetsis?

I mean, this Zweilous was tied to his own wife's death, the one he can never forget or look past, the only one who made him feel complete, and she was ripped from him. He even wonders if he's doing the right thing, having second thoughts and guilts over everything he's done.

To be quite frank, I'd hate the thing too. If the only living thing left of my wife's legacy was the Pokemon of the man who most likely had a hand in the murder of my wife, who constantly exists to remind me of what was taken away from me, I'd hate it too.

This doesn't excuse what he's done at all, he still was an accomplice in the torture and treatment of Zweilous and it didn't deserve that at all, but fuck man. I feel bad, maybe I'm too sympathetic idk

honestly im lowkey really glad you feel that way cuz it's kinda what i was going for hehe. i was wondering just how many people would remember ghetsis's allusions to the fact that cordelia was killed ("rest assured retribution was had"), as opposed to dying of illness or accident, and ghetsis's hatred of zweilous and his trainer clearly go deeper than just ghetsis being a jackass. im not saying it was lear and zweilous to do it outright, i actually had different plans in mind, but the king lear & cordelia namesakes are definitely a deliberate story choice rather than just some names that were cool.. so you can say ghetsis still blames him for what happened too, whether or not lear was the one to kill her. lear still mistreated and controlled cordelia and made ghetsis's life hell. not to mention their subsequent "falling out" after cordelia passed, which i don't know if i'll ever get ghetsis to address in full ic, but obviously.. there's a story behind the fact that ghetsis now has his dragon and his castle. ("this place was fully built before it came into my possession" notice how he doesnt say he inherited or was gifted it LMAO)

but anyways, yeah, there's a reason why ghetsis was doing this to zweilous out of all pokemon in his vicinity. i think yall would have a much harder time even considering forgiving him if he had done it to like, a random pokemon off the street, or god forbid, z.. he chose the pokemon that actively participated in destroying his life, and even then he had second thoughts and wanted to just get rid of it. doesn't make it right at ALL, just because a man ruined your life doesn't mean you can torture that man's attack dog, and youre not a better person for having second thoughts about abusing said dog. even between his second thoughts, ghetsis was considering doing this "early evolution" trick again sometime, so make of that what you will.. and zweilous was just an animal being told what to do, not inherently malicious. but i wanted to portray a man doing something incredibly, incredibly hateful and detestable in the wake of grief and bitterness as opposed to just for shits or pursuit of power alone

maybe he wouldn't even be in this scenario rn if he'd just gotten therapy after cordelia. but he thinks he's in too deep to pull back now

Okay as promised (sorta) last night during my melatonin fueled sleepless night (I’m giving up on that stuff ever working for me it just makes me anxious and unable to sleep lol, ambien sometimes does the same thing) here is my super awesome Hunter shipping au I came up with

Feel free to take it, write it, draw it, embroider a textile with it, ect, I may or may not end up writing it at some point, but yall know how I am, and also I tend to change things as I write lol

-it’s a medieval esc au, think that one video game or anime that I can’t remember the name of but I watched it and watched my people’s play it, general idea is no modern tech, but there is magic/magic users

-king Giovanni (honey you should see me in a crown) rules the Kanto and Johto nations, constantly sending troops to conquer other lands, not so much a corrupt king, very much interested in power/wealth so pretty much him lol

-as with all monarchs there are those who wish to over throw and take over, (fun fact my family fled to America because of a monarchist being overthrown in like the 1600/1700s we have been here a long time lol)

-one such is Red, now Red isn’t necessarily a bad guy, he doesn’t believe in expansion, wants to separate Johto/Kanto, thinks magic shouldn’t be used for personal gain, he and his knight (green! Who is totally in love with him) stage a coup

-Gio is from a powerful family, there is certain magic and items only his blood line can use, Red does not have the same powers but he has magic and a strong Pokemon team, and Gio may have underestimated the kid

-middle of the night, Gio’s advisors are like we’re done, this is the end, he knows how these things go, he will be strung up or tortured or really both, he does a spell to send away his magic sword that only he and his blood line can use, think sword and the stone

-he also has his spoiled, but capable son, the red headed prince silver, now same as my interpretation of canon, he loves his son and his son loves him, he isn’t an abusive father in the slightest, but he has to send his son away with the warning to never give out his identity, to settle somewhere in Johto and make a life, and never to go near the castle again. so he leaves his 13 (aged them up some) year old son who has never done anything for himself alone in the forest, they share a hug, Gio kisses his forehead, they both know this is goodbye

-silver, despite his father’s warnings, heads to the capital in the morning, he’s convinced himself that his father is strong, he can win and he was just being paranoid, and when he arrives, he sees hanging in the city center, his father’s corpse…

-after nearly getting caught by the new guards, silver sneaks away to Johto, and instead of allowing himself to mourn his dead father, (note this is pretty much my belief of what happened in canon too), silver becomes angry, saying that his father should have been stronger, pretty much spits on his father’s name,

-times are tough, silver is suddenly on his own after being… well a prince, his entire life, he’s robbed often, has to learn how to steal, wanders around Johto, can’t stay in one place, the kings is after him, wants to kill the entire line, says to himself that he hates his father because he was weak, he’s angry, he’s game silver lol

-there is a rumor that the former king’s sword was not ever found, Silver decides to track it down and take over, doing what his father couldn’t and take back the crown, he becomes obsessed with growing stronger,

-there are different kinds of magic users, and the magic silver uses is typically for battle, there’s also other kinds,

-while trying to become stronger he goes into steal a pokemon from a breeder (elms lab but ye olde lab lol) the apprentice stops him, but in the shuffle silver gets hurt, broken arm or something, but also totodile def wants to join him

-the apprentice immediately uses healing magic on him, insists on silver coming back to his house, he doesn’t know who silver is but he picks up that he’s not in a good place

-so the thing about healing magic users, they are often conscripted into the kings army to heal soldiers, Giovanni did it and red is no different, silver realizes they are both hiding themselves

-at golds house, they’re greeted by his mother, she’s a kind woman, has healing magic but no where near as strong as gold,

-she is also a loyalist, king Giovanni had liberated her village from some pirates or something, that part doesn’t matter, what matters is immediately she knows who silver is

-she offers her home, goes to work mending silver’s clothes, feeding him, being pretty motherly,

-the boys start growing close, training their pokemon and powers together, also note that golds powers can be used by skin to skin contact, so he ends up laying with silver after silver gets hurt, nothing happens but I just want you to know they lay pressed together and just quietly chat, obviously they are falling for each other cause it’s me

-silver hears a rumor of his father’s weapon being located in a distant area, he decides he needs to return to his quest, even though he’s grown comfortable with gold and his mother

-she’s sad but also understanding, she fully believes in like the divine rite of kings so she is like the gods have smiled upon you, that is why you survived, she tells gold to accompany silver, and silver is like outwardly saying no since it will be dangerous but inwardly happy because again he’s fallen in love

-they journey, cute stuff, bonding, ect

-they end up at the base where the weapon is supposed to be, they end up getting trapped, there are people guarding the weapon and they are pretty sure they will be killed when they are discovered

-gold is super in love with silver and would rather die than anything happen to him, so he sends him into a healing coma (think Pokemon move rest lol) and comes out, immediately tells the guards he is the bastard of King Giovanni and he came to take the weapon, the sleeping redhead is his useless body guard and not at all important

-his plan is get as close to the sword as possible and then wake silver before he’s executed, he’s banking on silver being in the room is enough to activate his bond with the weapon (which is probably a sword idk here), he doesn’t care if he dies as long as silver lives

-plans on becoming a ghost and just following and protecting his love from harm

-gold and silver are led into a room with a throne, there is a dark haired man there, who is like so you say you’re the bastard of the king? Gold is like yep, that’s me, my pops loved me a ton, I’m the best, he always wanted me to take over the weapon, trying to pretend to be a cocky prince.

-the man is like oh? Then he gets a glance at the sleeping silver, immediately on his feet barreling towards silver, gold shouts, waking silver up, attempting to use his magic to stop the guy from hurting silver, shouts something like don’t hurt him, idk here friends, something romantic I guess

-a flick of the man’s wrist and gold is being flung back, chains coming up from the ground and surrounding him in dark magic, he’s fighting but it’s obvious this guy is strong

-silver comes to disoriented, he sees gold trapped and feels his magic connection with the weapon, he turns to the man rushing him, ready to kill him

-instead he’s throwing his arms around him, pulled into a hug, both sobbing

-yeah it’s Gio duh

-he releases gold, apologizes, wasn’t sure if he was trying to hurt silver, gold takes it in stride, they have dinner where they learn what happened,

-after Gio sent silver away, one of his advisers worked to create a clone thing (I can’t spell the word with my phone but it starts with an h)

-they were able to switch the clone for Gio last minute allowing Gio and his advisors to sneak away and attempt to raise their power

-he had been trying to find silver but he did such a good job of hiding he couldn’t, Gio kinda thought he died, was going to become king again to find him,

-silver is like I’m going to join you, gold agrees, saying he won’t leave silvers side, Gio is like eyebrow raise, but rolls with it, cause he actually likes gold, especially since he was willing to die for his son

-things happen

-end up in the massive fight with red and green, gold gets hurt, silver gets angry and defeats them

-he pulls gold close, he’s barely breathing, can’t heal himself, silver clutches him close crying, kisses him,

-boom gold is insta healed

-either silver had healing magic all along or golds magic leaked into him idk but gold is fine, silver is fine, Gio is king, red/green are dead, silver is back to being the spoiled prince

-gold becomes the royal healer/fiance to the prince

-jump to his mom being brought to the castle after she heals some injured animal, she assumes she’s being conscripted, but it was just a coincidence

-she’s brought to the chamber of the king (hasn’t been announced that Gio is king again) and gold is there with silver, smiling widely, silver has a crown

-she pulls them into a hug, lots of happy tears, Gio thanks her for taking care of his baby boy, they probably hook up because I like it when they do

-gold and silver get married

-gold managed to magic a few babies or something idk I like him raising little gingers

-silver and Gio wear crowns and that makes me feel things

what pokemon would your characters from spitfire have? (sorry if you dont know all that much about pokemon)

my knowledge of pokemon is SO spotty past the first two gens and most of my knowledge is from my wife so i think most of these are gonna be mostly VIBES instead of specific pokemon so if yall have suggestions im all ears

feon: honestly not sure wjat to do about feon since like… they might just BE a pokemon, you know? like a legendary dragon pokemon with the ability to take human form. but i also feel like that is a really weird answer to give considering all the sex they have with humans.

so assuming they are a trainer, they would definitely have a charizard. feon would pick pokemon that looked really Cool and would probably mostly have dragons.

caed: i think at least for the aesthetic/patriotism he’d have to have at least one pokemon that was dragon and/or fire type. im gonna say he has a centiscorch because devin had one in their sword/shield team and i liked him a lot. and caed would have at least one steel pokemong for sword boy reasons. probably that sword/shield pokemon everyone hates thats just a sword and/or shield.

but also he just has a cubone. for SAD boy reasons.

allene: definitely psychic pokemon!! im not sure which ones. she’d probably want pokemon that could help with her work in one way or another so she’d defs have a rotom. i think that’s how it’s spelled. she’d also have at least one ice type to help her traverse harsh voswainina winters.

lysithea: primary types i can see for her would be fairy, dark, and water. she defs has one of those fancy new rapidashes. maybe a ninetails just bc it suits her idk. the one that looks like a key ring with the headcanon that it could help her pick locks lol

fidelity: i think fidelity has two kinds of pokemon: 1. relatively weak ‘mon that are cute, frequently common/unwanted sometimes early route mon that ppl always try to get rid of, like an unevolved caterpie or furret. does cutiefly fall under this category? i have no idea when in its game it pops up i just know it has fidelity vibes. 2. pokemon abandoned/unwanted by other trainers for various reasons. maybe it looks scary but is weak. maybe it’s just stinky because its a gloom (coincidentally my favorite pokemon when i was a child).

clemence: i have nothing other than new pokemon snap to base this on, but i think she’d have a gardevoir. idk why. just has the right vibes. maybe a carbink idk anything about it but i think clemence would collect rare/lesser seen pokemon, but not necessarily powerful ones. i think she would take pride in finding hidden gems and bringing them into light. not in like a boastful, egotistical way, but clemence is someone who finds satisfaction in polishing and bringing appreciation to the rare gems.

@heropartnerweek Day 7 - Previous Prompt - Species Swap... sorta

Ayy, I managed a bonus drawing!

I'm back on my WIP fic trio again. I did change around the species a bit in the swap, though... Sorrel (usually a Flabebe) is a dark Zorua, Nova (usually Cyndaquil) is a Flabebe, and Astrid (usually a ghost Zorua) is a Phantump. There's... a reason, why she isn't a Cyndaquil, and why Sorrel isn't a ghost Zorua in this swap. I think it's easy to guess, but I also won't say it out loud. (Hint: It relates to backstory.)

I decided to make a watermark! Hopefully it doesn't get too in the way, but I also want my work to be mine and not stolen. I followed @thatdogmagic's guide and again, hopefully I did good.

I also could've probably shaded/done more with the background, but I kinda didn't want to.

I could also explain their personalities a bit here, I guess? Here goes:

Sorrel: Sorrel really likes her personal space, but is fiercely loyal to the ones she lets close. Despite her pretty severe claustrophobia and distrust for others, she's lonely, so the first two who find her are also her two closest friends. (In the normal story, she's also driven to become stronger solely so she can evolve because Flabebe is tiny, yall. And she hates being small, it makes her feel powerless in a world built for giants. In this AU, that's not as strong because while she's still small, there are plenty of Pokemon around her size. Not everyone is a giant to her!)

Nova: The most cheerful of the group but not without some trauma sticking to him. He's not the strongest-willed, though, and often caves to others' demands of him. In this world, he'd want nothing more than to be a simple gardener, but Astrid needs his help, so he'll help her. (The second part is true of the real story, too.) He's also selectively mute... when he's stressed he physically can't make himself speak. (In this AU I guess he's also trans!)

Astrid: Astrid has a strong sense of justice and won't back down if she thinks she's in the right. This sometimes results in her trampling over Nova's desires. She wants to keep him safe, and the best way she can think to do that is push the two of them (three, after they meet Sorrel) to get stronger to take down the ones that have hurt them.

sorry but Eevee is over rated. i love eevee as much as the next guy but I always see posts about “we need eeveelutions for All the types or a new eevee centric game or maybe even Eeveelutions for all the type combinations!”

I’ll concede that new eeveelutions for unused types (like, ghost type eevee, fighting eevee, ect) that’s a fine thing to want. Maybe not all at once since eeveelutions are usually introduced in pairs (except the og 3 and slyveon) but I wouldnt mind those

but like. yall ever heard of lets go eevee 😭

We dont need a game focusing entirely on a single pokemon and giving them hundreds of new evolutions for all the different type combinations. no hate to anyone wanting this but this rant is inspired by a post like “they could do a game giving eevee 170+ evolutions” thats not feasible. technically speaking, you think theyre gonna program 170+ distinctly different evolution methods for one pokemon that dont overlap? Also part of the point of pokemon is. You know. catching all the DIFFERENT pokemon. If it focuses too much on one single pokemon, it gets boring.

sorry for posting about this so much ive just been chewing on it. when i was a kid i got evaluated for autism and the eval came back as not autistic but has traits at subclinical level; to my understanding, i think this means basically not enough traits to qualify for diagnosis/not disrupting my life? i have some doubts about the eval tbh bc it says my mom said no about behaviors i display, like saying i never get unusually obsessed with things. i think my mom thinks i started doing that in high school but i think i did the same thing as a kid a lot, just with more 'normal' things like pokemon or whatever

idk ive been chewing on that lately, bc its been revealed to me a couple times lately that a couple people do think i am on the spectrum, and also the ways im socially just........... not....... good. cant talk well out loud, weird/flat intonation, hate making eye contact or even looking at people's faces, carry myself weird, inexpressive, word vomiting all over people about my favorite album if they even mention music. i mean i do try to act normal in a situation. i can see myself doing it all wrong. i also cant seem to get it right and i do wonder if those things are probably the aforementioned Subclinical Traits. which sucks a little because if its your personality you can change it but if its just your genetically encoded brain type... you're stuck with that. a trusted professional mentioned (unprompted lol) that retesting might be an option but i know diagnostics are expensive as hell and if i come up positive then that has all sorts of possible consequences about healthcare providers not taking me seriously or even not being able to move out of the US since some countries bar people from moving there

also just kind of feels lonely because like, as far as i'm aware i'm not autistic, but also i have traits that most allistic people do not and it feels glaringly obvious whenever i go outside or talk to people. i dont really feel like i can make claims to being in any kind of autistic communities because i'm not, but i also wish i had like.... a space where i could talk to other people like me? because i have friends at work but i am well aware that i'm scaring the hoes when i rock up and proceed to fail to form coherent sentences around my friends and also make 0 eye contact or anything. i don't even know where to find others like me. it's a little lonely in here. i want companionship

Silly rambles, feel free to read or not. Just thought posting.

Saw a post from someone about SWSH and how it's a little funny coming back to those games and remembering how people complained about them, only for SV to release even worse.

It just brought up a thought for me. SWSH is like XY to me. And I mean this as in you will NEVER catch me whining about them or talking shit about them. Those games, despite their respective flaws, are both incredibly special to me for incredibly different reasons. I'll talk about both of them now because I want to.

XY were my first ever pokemon games. I got Y for my 8th birthday (or that christmas), if I remember correctly, and my sibling had X. I loved playing those games. They introduced me to Pokémon as a franchise entirely, and I still hold those games very dearly despite how everyone talks about how shit they are. I find them wonderful and a really fun trip down memory lane. I seriously hate seeing people so constantly and consistently hate on these games because of how important they are to me, but I get that not everyone feels the same way. These games mean nothing to most people, but everything to me. I wish the games got a little more love.

Sword and Shield, on the other hand, means a lot to me in a different way. Lets start with the innocent fun stuff. I'm going to be honest with you all right here and now; I love Leon. Almost everything about him I love. He's a silly and fun champion who just wants everyone to have a good time. Plus he has a Dragapult. Based. I also love Raihan and Hop. Raihan is just. S+, no notes. I can't explain why I love Hop, but I really just do. His whole arc of wanting to be exactly like Leon, then realizing that's not what he truthfully wants out of life and instead deciding to research pokemon to become a professor instead is just. Super appealing to me! He also probably just gets bonus points for being Leon's brother anyways seeing as how Raihan and Leon are tied for my favorite characters from SWSH lol. Also, all 3 of the starters are awesome. I love all 3 of them. Zamazenta and Zacian are also cool legendaries :) Spectrier too.

Now. On a more personal level. My dad started to play switch games with me and loved to watch me play during the pandemic. We played Animal Crossing New Horizons, Diablo III, Ace Attorney (Trilogy and Chronicles) and Pokémon Shield together. In Shield, he would do whatever he could to get me a pokemon I wanted, especially shinies. I have so many shiny pokemon just thanks to him trading almost all day for me. Most of them are hacked, yes, but I don't care. It was really just the thought that mattered to me. I have a shiny Porygon Z named Jitters that he went above and beyond just to get me. Unfortunately, in 2021 he passed away due to Covid. These Pokémon are. More important to me than ever. Because they were some of the last gifts he got me before he passed. Jitters specifically will always mean the world to me. And I will always name a shiny Grimmsnarl "Mr. Legs" based off a joke I had with my dad about its gigantamax form.

Damn. Now I want to hunt a shiny Scorbunny and name it "Sparky" (one of my dad's nicknames) since that was his chosen starter. I think I'll go start that now.
