Headcanons on how StEx characters would react if you give them an energy drink:

Pearl: pretends to not like drinking that kind of stuff but actually enjoys it

Greaseball: pretends to handle the caffeine quite well but throws up when no one is looking

Rusty: he'd either be hyper af (like a kid that ate too much sugar) and a bit sassier or cries his eyes out

Poppa/mama: starts using caffeine to compensate everyday life (just like most adults)

Flattop: he's almost caffeine resistant and even feels sleepy

Caboose (CB and AV): gets hyperactive af and goes feral (there might also be the risk of him stabbing someone with random pointy objects)

Canoose (BV): gets super confident first but has a mental breakdown as soon as the caffeine is broken down by the body

Dustin: takes one sip, finds it disgusting and touches that can never again

The rockies: battle eachother who can drink the most cans

Electra: zaps uncontrollably

Elektra: claims that he can handle that bit of caffeine but shuts down after half a can

Components: are too worried about Elektras condition to feel any difference

Dinah: giggles constantly

Belle (sleeping car): feels more youthful than everyone else

Ashley: she'd probably be very chatty and uses the can as an ashtray

Trax: feel happy and serene for once in their life

Control: gives his parents a hard time

HI HI HI, I like it! honestly i'm a fan of most ships with CB or electra but surprisingly putting them together isn't my most favorite? it's very fun though. HOWEVER. if we're talking elektra and canoose? thats just cannon that's literally juts real and i dont take criticism

What is canoose for you?

I don't know if you're talking about the fanon name or the character it's referring to so I'll answer both

The fanon name is one I personally refuse to use - I don't like it, it sounds weird, and it has the word "noose" in it which is majorly uncomfy

The character of post 2018 update caboose, however, is a near and dear character to my heart and I love him very much. If it wasn't clear, I sarcastically say, I call him BV (Brake Van) instead

There is only one big race, and every time a new character is added to the official musical, the fandom tries to give them an "unofficial" name and a relationship with other pre-existing characters. For example, OLC CB is named AV, and he's CB and BV/Canoose's (Post-2018 Bochum) father/uncle/close relative.

Apollo Victoria is the name of the OLC theater, and also the unofficial name of the station and trainyard where the events of the musical happen. Rusty, Poppa/Momma, Memphis Belle, the Coaches (except Dinah), the Freight, and some of the Diesels (except Greaseball) live there all the time.

See answer 1, plus pre-existing characters with Not-So-PC-Names sometimes get renamed by using a name that starts with the same letter as the original name (one of the Diesels in the Gang had a name that's basically a slur against Asians, and is now named Gear) or we take the name of said character in another version of the musical (Nintendo from Post-1992 London and Manga from Post-2018 Bochum are Nakamuraand Yamamoto from the Jap/Aus tour)

About the height... As a fandom, we HC the trains to be quite big even when "human-like". Average height in Racing Form is about 8 ft tall.

They can switch form! They can stay in basic engine/train car form when working, and later switch to a more human-like form.

Okay so I am technically still new to Starlight Express fandom and all I've really been doing is listening to the music over and over and over again and like looking at fan stuff here on Tumblr, so I have some questions.

1. Is each version of the musical it's own separate universe or do y'all technically have them all in the same place together.

I asked this because I've seen things where all of the CBs are related, so like does that count for the rest of the characters too?

2. Apollo Victoria I know that's the name of the theater, but like I've seen people use it for other stuff is that like where they're located in universe or is that like the name of the railway they all come from?

3. Does each version of the same character have a different name amongst the fandom or do they all just go by the same name because I've seen again CB called different things depending on which version of them it is.

4. What's everyone's general thought on height because like they're supposed to be like humanoid trains so like are they really big is that like a general thing amongst the fandom or does it just not matter and their whatever?

5. What are they what do you all consider them as like trains turn human or robots that look human that are supposed to be trains or like some other species of sentient thing that's looks human but isn't confused about like how people get like as a collective think of what the characters are in universe.

Anyway so those are my general questions.

Yes I know some of them can be subjective depending on what person answers them because we all have our own head cannons of Starlight Express but like I've seen overlap at least from what I've seen here on Tumblr I've seen overlap by what people think their universe is like and I just want to understand that. Because I always feel like the odd one out when my idea of the world like is just bafflingly different than everyone else's and it does make it easier to work out my own version of the universe would like the base idea that everyone tend to come to for things. Lol 😅

Post 2018 greaseball caboose

“Oh, Greaseball,” a teasing voice sang from behind him.

Greaseball smiled, the same way he always did when Caboose called to him like that. He stayed where he was, eagerly anticipating the feeling of a pair of hands sliding around his waist.

Seconds later, his patience paid off. Caboose’s arms wrapped around him from behind, his thumbs hooking through the front of Greaseball’s belt. Caboose’s chest pressed against his back and Greaseball’s smile only grew as he felt Caboose rest his chin on his shoulder.

“Hey,” Greaseball said, reaching down to cover one of Caboose’s hands with his own. “What’re you up to?”

“Mmm. Nothing,” Caboose said. “Just wanted to come see what you were doing.”

“Mmm. Nothing,” Greaseball said, mimicking Caboose’s tone playfully. Caboose pinched his stomach in retaliation, but it wasn’t hard enough to make Greaseball do anything but laugh. “I was just planning on heading back home for a quick workout,” he added a bit more seriously.

“Yeah?” He could tell by Caboose’s tone that that had piqued his interest. “Can I come?”

“You want to watch?” Caboose never worked out, himself--it wasn’t his style. But he loved watching Greaseball do it. And Greaseball, for his part, loved having Caboose watching him. He could always feel Caboose’s eyes on him when it happened, the way they lingered over his pecs and his biceps, watching them strain and flex. He wasn’t too proud to admit that it was a big ego boost for him, and he’d take any chance he could to have it.

Still, Greaseball pretended to think it over. “I don’t know,” he said slowly. Caboose was one of the biggest teases Greaseball had ever met, and he enjoyed turning that same attitude back on him.

“Don’t make me beg,” Caboose said, running his hands up Greaseball’s abs.

Greaseball chuckled. With touches like that, he couldn’t keep his act up. “No begging needed,” he said. He took hold of one of Caboose’s hands before finally turning around to face him. Caboose was smiling victoriously, but Greaseball was happy to let him have this one.

Part of him was very tempted to kiss that smile right off Caboose’s lips, but the larger part of him was too impatient to start his workout. He was suddenly grateful that he’d taken it easy yesterday. It meant that he could really push himself today. That was good on its own from a workout perspective, but the true benefit--for Greaseball, at least--was that it meant he could really show off for Caboose. He was already looking forward to the feeling of Caboose’s gaze sliding over his muscles, the admiration and attraction that always radiated off Caboose at the sight.

Not wanting to waste another second, Greaseball pulled Caboose’s hand back to his couplers. “Come on,” he said, barely waiting for Caboose to hitch on before he started off towards his house.

“Eager, are we?” Caboose teased.

“I’m always eager for a good workout,” Greaseball said. He didn’t want to give Caboose the satisfaction of admitting what he was really looking forward to.

Whether Greaseball said it out loud or not, Caboose knew what was on his mind. “Sure. That’s what this big rush is for.”

Greaseball hadn’t noticed how fast he was going, but once Caboose pointed it out, he made a point to slow to a more reasonable pace. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he lied.

“Of course you don’t.” The scepticism in Caboose’s voice was unmistakable.

Greaseball shot him a look over his shoulder. “I can uninvite you, you know.”

Caboose met his gaze smugly. “But you won’t,” he said confidently.

Greaseball held his look for a moment more before he had to admit defeat. “No, I won’t,” he said with a sigh. He turned back to the track so Caboose wouldn’t see the small smile that he couldn’t fight off.

Behind him, Caboose wore a smile of his own as he noted--but didn’t comment on--that Greaseball was picking up speed again.

So I’m currently writing a CB/Electra fic, which is going somewhat well, but like wtf is their ship name??? Celectra?? Elecboose??? I legit don’t know. I’ve looked through old posts and all the fics on ao3 and I really can’t find anything.

Is there like a unique name like Greased Lightning and Rusted Brakes have? Or is there just not name for them?

Honestly, if there isn’t an official ship name, I think something like Spark Brakes sounds pretty cool, but idk.
