i wonder if my penchant of writing far-from-canon-AUs stems from the fact that canon rpf is really hard to characterize 🤔 you have to get a good sense of the general perception of the "person" to go on to explore what they would say/do. but for certain styled AUs, some of the wonky characterizations are covered by the fact that it's intrinsically part of the au. so you get a lil leeway.
an addition: my complete lack of knowledge on instruments/guitars/how bands work especially a big one like fob/touring might be a big part of why it's so hard to write for me.
setting aside music as shared love language throughout the band. i still have to describe shit and i literally can't. patrick plays the guitar and the most i can say is that it's shiny and red and maybe "patrick glimpsed down to check before he continued to sing into the mic." Joe plays the guitar and its "Joe's nimbles fingers flew over the strings." Pete plays the bass and its "Pete bopped his head down to keep rhythm as he played the bass." Andy plays the drums and its "Andy was drumming, his arms in constant motion."
and not the mention the movie references. they start saying shit like the [insert old movie] and i'm like. cool. i have to google that👍🏼
and not to mention, the generational gap between myself and fob/lack of knowledge on time periods, similiar to the movie thing. when talking about like 2005 fob with trl and warped tour and shit. it's literally a historical au for me bc i have very little frame of reference what life was like then. (<- girlie who was a child in 2005 and did not live in the us).
i guess AU gives me the ability to write with my favourite "characters" by scooping them up and plopping them in a universe where I know the rules and thus can figure out how they might react in those situations.
#random sleepless thoughts bc i sat down trying to edit a fantasy au#and then come up with a seperate contemporary fic idea#and was like um... idk man#i do admire people who can really capture a time period/event/person in a fic#vampylily.txt#also read this back and im just missing chunks of words#im really eepy rn

omg hiii. Yes I'm blushingg but glad to have a soapbox, sorry if this ends up a lil wonky, but if there's anywhere to wax poetic about yaoi...Well it may show up in the ao3 tag, too, sooner than later, but basically I'm thinking about Kanjuro's perceived reality and the dissonance of that vs his lived reality?
Like he's completely emotionally numb, but he's either playing this role where he's this sort of dumb happy go lucky member of a team, or playing this completely despicable villian, but neither of them are actually real, or true to who he is behind the mask? Maybe? It feels like that classic idea of an actor who feels more truly while they're wearing a mask, than in their real life... there's an Oscar Wilde quote about it that I can't remember rn. Or a silly method acting concept lol.
I'm only on episode 995 so I haven't seen the encore yet, but I'm obsessed with when Kiku kills stabs him and the frame fades into the blob that he sees himself as (?) where he's this amorphous inky thing with dead eyes and a smile, like that's the real him and Kanjuro is just a costume he puts on.
^he is so me. AND also he wants to fulfil his role/his life's purpose to avenge his family and then just fuckin die which, like, real
And then the old man yaoi that comes out of that intense character study is uhhh neat! I like thinking that him and Kin'emon were like, banging when they were younger, but maybe broke up, or Kin got married, or they didn't break up, but Kanjuro was emotionally distant/they had intimacy problems? Sometimes I think of Kanjuro as someone who imitated Kin'emon/formed the role of Evening Shower Kanjuro in Kin'emon's image to seem normal, or didn't know how to make friends so became an incessant people pleaser, which is not super sexy in the long run. Either way, for Kin'emon he's just like "well I shall always love him, he is my best friend and my first love". And then this betrayal happens and Kin is just so blindsided and devastated that he never knew, he never really knew him at all, and was any of it real, and if not, just how much of it was a lie?
(And if Kanjuro lived, Kin would try so desperately to understand, to make him feel anything, and Kanjuro just couldn't, and Kin feels far too much by comparison, and he should be able to let go and live in the new Wano, but he can't move on without Kanjuro)
tbh toxic doomed retainer yaoi does sum it up! I think Kin'emon is such a brutally earnest, heart on his sleeve kind of guy, and Kanjuro is just lies all the way down into nothing (or, if he does feel something, it would be so difficult to heal from after being repressed for sooo fucking long). In some ways, they complete each other! In other ways, "hand in unlovable hand" etc etc
feel free to dm me/respond here cause I'd love to see what you meant in ur tags on the art that "you could have taken this further" 😳 cause I personally think the bdsm would be.....insane. But also I'm hoping I'm gonna publish the seventh total Kin'emon/Kanjuro fic on ao3 soon 💯 lol thanks for coming to my ted talk xoxo
thanks for my life today (toxic/doomed retainer yaoi that showed up in the Kanjuro tags (where ive been living lately)) ur art rocks in general, but I've got Kanjuro brain worms rn so wanted to thank u for that specific delicious food 🤌✨ have a rad day!!
oh??? yes yes i’m happy to help! but also… if i may ask… 👀 what are your kanjuro brainworms about?

Do you know the stability of works on cardboard? Or do you ever do works on archival paper? I love your work and want to buy an original but I’m just concerned about how to preserve it if I did
hmmm i'm not entirely sure how to answer this question! the cardboard is kinda like a very thick paper so i think in terms of stability is pretty much similar :-3 it's definetely not the cheap cardboard that is used for boxes and stuff! its a fancy cardboard<3
one thing to note tho! the sizes of my originals are very random cuz i cut them out myself haha most of them are also a lil bit wonky and the edges are not straight
not the easiest to frame them but i think it's fun and adds character!

Full review: Girly
What’s Pink, insane, NSFW, hilarious, and somehow heartwarming at points? This comic is a ride and a half, and I’m genuinely surprised more people haven’t heard of this one… I’ve been wanting to talk about this one for a WHILE.
So let’s talk about the elephant in this room… Because I think it just ate someone’s couch.
Slightly NSFW review with spoilers below.
Girly, by Jackie Lesnick was a webcomic that ran between 2003 and 2010, (and really has some of those early webcomic hallmarks). Its monochromatic pink, vertical, with a poppy early cartoon feel. It’s also listed as a romantic comedy, which is… correct, but cuts a whole lot of what makes this comic good, short.
This review was always going to be one of the 4 I really struggled with. And not just because I lost it the first time without a back up in a code glitch, got distracted by a pandemic, then procrastinated my way to finally making a second version in my new backup folder… No, well also yes but no. This was a comic I read when I was younger (and should NOT have read when I was younger), and have always had a soft spot for. I’ll admit as much as this comic has its flaws or weird moments or just weirdness in general, its one of the few comics I’ve found myself rereading in its entirety more than once. And no matter how much I know it's coming, find myself sobbing, uncontrollably, at the final panel. There’s surprisingly a lot of heart in this comic, and a whole lot of honesty in just the direction the author took this weird little thing. But, first let me take of those rose tinted glasses as much as I can… (actually that might not work too well with a pink comic seriously whats with all these early 2000s lesbian comics being PINK?). And give this old comic a look and a bit of a dust. but , first...
Sex.
Getting to the point - page 3 of “Girly”
Girly is a NSFW comic. It’s not shy about it either. It hits the audience (and the main character) over the head with it literally in the first pages. It has sex positive characters, a sex positive world, some characters with… sex powers almost, and Dildos, a whole lot of dildos. Some even with smiley faces on them. It’s a pretty unavoidable part of the comic that makes up a large core of it’s humour and is baked into its wacky world. So if that’s not your thing, and it’s not really skippable in this case, you won’t like this comic.
But, if you’re alright with that part of it this might just be a hidden gem. Moving on.
Art
Artwork is always interesting in webcomics. They’re usually one man shows, have a weird niche / strong influences, and or usually go on massive journeys as the art improves. Girly is no different here.
Girly starts out rough. Some poses are wonky and its a bit scratchy. Technically speaking it has a few issues, which is fine. Its a free webcomic, from the 2000s that didn't copy and paste faces. (Won’t name names, you know who you are). You can’t be too harsh on a free comic, though.
However, what the art style does, even early on is set the style and feel of the comic. Anime inspired faces, bold outlines, and blocky silhouettes that were really popular with 90’s and 2000s cartoons. It has a newspaper, manga comedy strip vertical style, too. It fits the style of story well as a poppy wacky story. It's the perfect art style it could take.
Its rough in the beginning, but moves on from its scratchy days, to loose pen brush, to finally a polished free hand poppy style. It gets more technically advanced as it goes along, but it keeps its core style throughout. It’s fun, a little unhinged, and just pares perfectly.
The one issue I have with the art is it comes off as a bit cramped. It certainly matches the energy of the story, but it also feels like it doesn't let the characters have any breathing room in the frame. It comes off as squashed, and can make some character poses hard to read. That’s the only complaint I can find though. The issue even fixes itself later in the story, but just very very close to the end. It looks great there, but the majority of the comic is a little cramped. Still that’s just a small complaint.
Nitpicking here but some panels need a lil more room
This a humour comic foremost. It's the biggest part of what makes Girly specifically Girly.
Humour
The humour is mostly wacky nonsense, playing off its insane characters, physics defying world, everything being dialed up to 11. It also works a lot like satire, poking at what influences it, and playing with cinematic expectations. The first page has Otra shooting someone into space on a rocket because they annoyed them, the first “adventure” the character’s go on is stealing everyone’s pants because they couldn’t find anything else to do. Then there’s the kidnapping adventures, knight trials, and slice of life shenanigans that happen. All of it as wacky as the last. I haven’t really found any other lesbian comics like it. Its not everyone’s tastes, but it is certainly unique.
If you’re into a willy wonka tunnel of over the top characters and plots, you’ll like Girly.
Characters
Girl is a LONG comic, it ran for 7 years. The art evolved, the story writing, jokes, and themes along with it. It was originally meant to run for only 50 strips... and it ended up with 764.
so, there’s a lot to unpack.
Firstly, the premise of the story is somewhat simple. It focuses on Otra. The kinda straight man to the entire universe. She starts out almost depressed, out of place, and bored of the wacky inhabitants of her world. Until one of those wacky residents smacks her over the head with a giant dildo and won’t leave her alone for the next 7 years of run time.
What follows is the sullen Otra being pulled around by the always cheery and zany nonsensical Winter as the sidekick for bizarre adventures. Otra’s depressive grounded view keeps the bizarreness funny, while Winter cuts through her negative attitude and causes a lot of the over the top plot. Leaving Otra to warm up to the world, and Winter to get less reckless as they balance eachother out. It’s a fun dynamic, and works as an emotional core of the story. No matter how weird the plot and rules of the world are, their relationship keeps the story somewhat focused and rewarding to see develop.
An example of bold wacky character designs from even early on
The comic isn’t just about them, though. As an ensemble comic there's plenty of side characters that go through arcs and beats as well. From el chubacabre, the man that woman find so irresistible that they sleep with him as soon as they see him; detective Clapjaw the street wise detective who is very bad at his job; Officer Hipbone and police guy from the cute P D; captain fist the ever popular bad at his job superhero who gets all the credit; the news reporter obsessed with captain fist; the woman with babies; Steak; the elephants that just… appear and eat buildings; among many many others. A lot of whom also have nicely written character arcs and depth in later chapters. Many of the character however are simple and remain simple, which isn’t a bad thing. For such a large cast, having a diverse range of strange characters with strong identities and looks even if a bit simple stops it from getting bogged down. It strikes a good balance. Plus there’s plenty enough of characters with more depth later on.
All the character’s are insane, and over the top in a way that really sets up the world they live in and how it works... as dysfunctional as it is. There’s something very Cartoon Network about all the characters, but with some wider influences. something about dumb characters, with very specific goals and quirks that work on their own physics to feed into the high energy insanity of the world. Its entertaining to read, and leads to a weirdly charming feel of the comic.
Story and plot
For the bit people actually want to know about. What is it about?
Just a little bit of influences...
For the style itself the comic comes off as a mix between early 2000s slice of life-y anime, 2000s cartoon Network, and a dose of 2000s webcomic sarcastic action/adventure flare. It definitely has one of the most pronounced styles that I’ve seen, and even if it's very much a webcomic of it’s time it also goes a bit beyond that into something that feels personal to the author and honest. Its a batshit comic. But, it wears its influences on it’s sleeve and really plays with tropes and ideas the author found engaging at the time. It somehow comes off as refreshing in just how willing it is to go weird or niche for no other reason but because it wants to. It's what I appreciate most about the comic. It’s honest.
The overarching story of the comic is without a doubt about Otra and winter growing together as people. But with a comic that’s run for 7 years a little bit more happens in the journey, at least you hope it would. Girly runs on chapters, 15 in total (with 15 having sub chapters due to being the story’s climax), and each one of those chapters follows a different plot or adventure with Otra’s and Winter’s developing relationship gluing them together.
The plots themselves are wild and vary a bit in quality. But for a long comic that’s understandable and expected. They go from solving elephant problems, super villains, body swapping, fantasy parodies, and all sorts of strange things. Sometimes a few plots drag and a few character arcs feel a bit bland. It still manages to be entertaining all the way through though. The plots themselves work to get the character’s to play off each other and explore the strange world it takes place in. Exploring evil teddy bears, or an entire town devoted to cheap gags. No matter what, all the plots work in fleshing out the world and pushing character’s out of their comfort zone or forcing them to change. There are some that are less fun than others, but none of them manage to be boring or useless. Which for a long comic such as this, is quite an achievement.
Conclusion
Girly is a hidden gem, Its an insane sex positive comic. A loose style and even looser physics. It’s bold and unabashedly itself. But, at its core it's about the love story of Winter, the wacky insane woman needing to slow down and open up, and Otra, a sullen woman who’s deemed herself only worthy of being on the outskirts of society. It’s two people growing together in a world that’s up to its ears in care bears, sentient dildos, earth shattering cloning, and jabs at 2000’s paste it comics. And somehow it all sticks together.
The characters resonated, at least with me, which may be the nostalgia talking. But by the end of the comic I can’t help but think back on how long it took them to get there. The bits that made me laugh (a lot of them), the stupid parts, and the character’s arcs, as over the top they could be at times. It may not everyone’s cup of tea. But it has a lot of heart at its core. (If you get past all the dildos).
For all it’s flaws and weird bits. I still find myself going back to Girly.
Maybe now, some more people will too.

rating all the s support cgs: part 3 - golden deer
10/10
claude’s face looks sus but all can be forgiven cause
this pose is the epitome of soft intimacy
the hug, the place of their hands, byleth burying her face in claude’s neck. perfection.
1/10
i love hilda so much, this cg is a crime against that love
this is just a fanservice-y hilda illustration, not an s support cg
there’s no sense of intimacy, the pose and the expression make no sense, byleth isn’t in the frame at all and this isn’t even a bi support
7/10
the intimacy evoked by the pose is good but lori’s face and the hands feel wonky and the perspective is kinda awkward
8/10
this is what bernie’s cg wants to be
lysi’s face is a bit wonky, but perspective and composh are nice, even if there’s room for improvement
the pose has a nice soft feeling to it, though it doesn’t necessarily feel like intimacy?
7/10
the pose and composh allow a nice sense of intimacy
but the situation feels uncomfortably fanservice-y on a soft character like mari, the emphasis on her lips being particularly off
8/10
v cute
lov how soft the pose is
but the perspective and composh feel jus a lil bit awkward
4/10
i love ignatz but compared to his demeanor, he looks disappointingly composed
also the pose is rather boring for a non-bi cg
cute otherwise
2/10
nose has left the chat
tits have entered the chat
this is just a mediocre leonie illustration, not an s support cg

I think I forgot to talk about watching the CGI Digimon movie. It’s the movie completely separate from any anime so no digidestined or humans involved and it goes into the origin of the X forms digimon get. What got my attention was a gifset years ago that showed a baby digimon just straight up dead and it’s known for how bad the CGI is. It’s dated and a lil wonky and because of how old it is, the quality was also low, but the fight scenes and some animations were nicely done. And I enjoyed the story, especially because we got a good look at the Royal Knights digimon, my favorite lore. I gush about the story under a readmore to cut length.
The story starts with how scary and hectic the digital world has become. King Drasil was overloaded with how many digimon there were, so he carried some digimon to a new server and released the X program to wipe out the remaining digimon, a plan called Project Ark. So overpopulation which is....eugenics. Had me worried at first, but thankfully it’s framed as a tragic occurrence and King Drasil is the main antagonist. Some digimon survived the X program and developed an X-antibody to gain immunity and that gave them new forms and the chance to migrate to the new digital world. Unfortunately, King Drasil caught wind of it and ordered the Royal Knights to take the X digimon out. Also regular digimon hated X digimon because they shouldn’t exist and X digimon just wanted to live.
I felt so disappointed when one of the Royal Knights, Omnimon, showed up and not only attacked the X digimon, but he also killed the regular digimon. They just started attacking any digimon the vicinity of X digimon as well. Later at the climax, King Drasil got desperate and released an army of berserk digimon to wipe out the new digital world. The main character Dorumon digivolved throughout the movie and when he reached his adult form, he noticed he looked like the berserk digimon army. Turns out he was an experiment of KIng Drasil made for this purpose. Also another Royal Knight, Gallantmon, grew suspicious of the King and ended up sacrificing his life against Omnimon to prove a point of how the Royal Knights had changed from digimon protectors to fucking genocidal monsters.
Gallantmon did come back with his own X form to help the other digimon fight off the army, while Omnimon who had a change of heart after going too far and killing his comrade, teamed up with Dorumon (now DoruGreymon) to confront King Drasil. At the height of the battle with the King, DoruGreymon changes to Alphamon, another Royal Knight, and he and Omnimon defeat King Drasil, resetting and saving the digital world. All they had to do was turn his ass off and on again lmao. It was a wild ride with how apocalyptic and genuinely tense things got especially because digimon actually died throughout the movie.

How to Organize a Zine 101 #3
Hello~
I already talked about figuring out your zine and the zine’s schedule as well as what you should bring with you to successfully manage a zine.
I think the next step should be building up
Web Presence
I already talked a wee lil bit about it in Part 1 but I think I should elaborate a bit more on it as it’s basically the backbone of almost every fanzine nowadays.
A small disclaimer: Please take everything with a certain grain of salt as I am not a professional when it comes to social media managment. These are just some pointers I consider useful/helpful as they worked for me or other zines I had a brief overview of.
Where to post?
First of all, think about what platforms you want to use, and get familiar with them if you aren’t already. Learn “the way” of it to know which rules/guidelines to follow, because not every platform is the same in tonality or which kind of content spreads fastest.
The most common platforms that I’ve found to work with zines pretty well are Twitter and Tumblr. As both are available as apps for practically almost every phone, it’s also easy to check and keep updated with when you’re on your way.
Tumblr is quite interesting because it’s bascially like a website (and yes, you should keep in mind that the mobile version doesn’t support tumblr sites) and you can conveniently store all info to your zine, answer questions in public, and reblog post e.g. previews of zine entries. It’s easy to spread information quickly if you use the correct tags and post them in the best time frames for your audience.
Twitter is kind of like a news ticker, or gets used by many like this. It’s easier to engage with people and “spread the word” by tagging people who might be interested in the zine.
Also, think about where you as a manager have the bigger following so you can forward e.g. tweets or posts or make your own announcements about the zine to your following and potential customers.
What to post?
Obvious things are announcements like schedules, FAQ, details on the zine, application progress, previews, contributor lists, links to online shops, etc. This is kind of basic together with updates like if important e-mails to the contributors went out etc.
However, this isn’t everything at all. What I found great in other zines (which we completely ignored for our zine and I think that’s a very sad thing actually) was having specific dates (in fandoms stuff like characters’ birthdays, anniversaries etc.) or more general things like widespread holidays, or “event dates” (? - like world women’s day, labour day, you get the twist) that somehow correlate to your zine. For example, one zine I participated in was about the girls of a certain fandom, so they chose the Day of the Girl to start previews to kickstart the preorder phase - and I really loved that! It brings everything in another perspective because it’s not just a zine for a few little nerds to enjoy, but it conveys a much more pronounced message that way. Including those kind of dates, whether it’s just a small post like “Happy New Year” with a small update on the zine progress, or a special sale because it’s xy character’s birthday and it happens to also fall perfectly into your schedule, it just makes your zine feel more honest and considerate of their passion for the zine’s content. It isn’t mendatory, but it definitely has a more lasting impression.
Also, you might want to think about what medium you want to choose - photos/pictures generally get more attention as it is highly visual (plus it’s easier to find on a twitter accound for example) and can be a nice addition to your text. This is where you definitely should think about some kind of corporate design for your zine that is eye-catching enough to get attention from a lot of people and still matches tone and intention of the zine. Gifs may give a post a bit more animated, funny, or simply emotional expression, so having a few sets of gifs/images (perhaps from the source material if it’s a fan zine) handy isn’t such a bad idea. It’s something we didn’t have and I basically have only regret about it.
How?
You also might think about the tonality of how you appear on the zine’s social media. Generally, fandoms are a rather friendly and casual place to be, so you can slip a small joke or something like that into your posts, however, you shouldn’t go all “LOLZ dat boi xDDDDDD” because you still want people to take you seriously and (if it’s a for-buy zine) pay real money for your zine. Keep a certain level of professionalism but don’t have a complete stick up your butt is all I’m saying as you don’t want to alienate people because of one thing or the other.
If you’re modding the zine with several mods (which I highly recommend!), also add signatures at the end of each post (we did it with -Mod [our name]) so it’s easier to clear up misunderstandings etc. as people know who they’re talking to and maybe one mod just didn’t read the memo or something. With tweets it’s just wasting precious characters but on tumblr you aren’t limited at all.
Also remember tagging: It feels like a science itself, and partly it is. First, tag what it’s about. You need to reach the fans, so if it’s about a certain ship or characters, tag those. Tag the fandom, and, very important, tag that it’s a zine. having those covered at first makes you pop up in e.g. tumblr search more as tumblr had changed that only the first 5 tags will be where you’ll appear. Some blogs which collect zine posts have a specific tag they’re tracking, so including some of these comes in quite handy. The rest is mainly to maintain a system on your blog, which everyone needs to figure out themselves. Tagging on twitter is kind of different as you have a limit, I would always go with ships/content first, then perhaps fandom, and zine only if you’ve got some characters to kill. Also please don’t use completely unrelated tags only because they’re currently trending - this is just plain annoying and it’s more likely that people will ignore you instead of gaining some interest in your project.
When?
Do your research on what times are the best to post your content to get your target audience, especially as shipping can be very expensive so you want to have national interest in first place. Every social media has their own specific timeframes where content goes viral the fastest. There is no 100% correct formular, but some tendencies at least, so you can help your luck out a little bit.
Grooming Your Media
To most social media, the key to success is consistency, so you definitely shouldn’t sleep on this. Luckily, social media are (except for most forums but then again your phone usually also has a web browser) usually available as app version, meaning you’re quick to responst or check in. - That’s what you usually think but truth be told, apps also don’t always work perfectly, and especially the tumblr app is known to be rather wonky. I also (this is a personal preference, though) find it easier to compose posts and pick the right pictures on my computer, so if you’re the same way as I, I would advise you to calculate half an hour up to maybe 3 per day/every two days to check in on all your zine’s accounts. It depends a bit on how active the current phase is and how many questions/inquiries people are sending your way.
Tumblr luckily has the queue option, and it definitely saves you a lot of time when you need to bring up an important post regularly. Through the queue, the blog also stays more active, thus has likely more traffic or is simply more noticible as it stays fresh in mind.
Twitter, however, doesn’t have this function (or I’m definitely not aware of it), and, truth be told, also isn’t concipated for this kind of thing. There aren’t really many updates you can post during certain phases of the zine, but there might help the above mentioned dates you might want to keep in mind. Tweeting about the occassion and connecting it with your zine might raise interest and more traffic on your account. And yes, then there are the really busy phases where you simply can’t keep up with social media as the zine demands all your attention. However, sometimes people just want to know how busy you are, so tweet it! A sentence or two are probably enough, and then you’re basically good to go for the day. Just remember to retweet your tweet during your breaks.
And, again, checking on your media should be a regular thing because waiting for an answer for 1-2 days is a different thing than a month or so later (this accidentally happened to us because we didn’t get a notification), so don’t just check “does the system signal me that there are new messages” but actually go into all possible messaging systems directly to check because sometimes tech is a bit wonky. (Also check the message requests!!!)
To maintain a certain level of activity can be a pretty tough job and by now I’m actually inclined to believe that one of the mods should be responsible solely for the social media management while the others work on the actual zine. However, I can’t say I’ve had experience with handling stuff like this that way. It definitely would have gotten a lot of pressure off my shoulders (I mean there’s a reason why companies have a special department handling all this stuff.)
Also, when I say “post regularly,” you can determine what is regular. This can be 24/7, every other day, or once a week, maybe also every two weeks but I suppose no less than that or people might forget you even exist. It’s just important to keep that schedule up so people can build a habit of expecting and getting to see a new post at a certain time.
It feels a bit hypocritic for me to talk about this topic because I think I’m not doing a very great job at it myseld simply because I easily neglect stuff like this, but again this small series is about learning from our/my mistakes so you don’t have to make them with your zines.
Thank you for reading, I hope I’ll find the time to write the next installment soon!

So is it just like, a law, that every version of Keith has to be aggressively beautiful? Is that way they decided to draw him like that in VLD? Because he originally had these big round sparkly doe eyes while everyone else just looked like regular old cartoon characters? Idk I'm just having trouble letting this go. Mostly because it was really distracting watching the 1984 episodes on netflix. He stares, man. Just wanted to share.
“every version of keith has to be beautiful”
OK but really,, I love golion Akira especially–he’s just so cute!!
I think the longer hair really works for the character design
like I get everyone’s gonna have some wonky frames cause hey this is the 80′s but even still, Akira usually looks on the better side??
and even when he does like kinda off I still think its endearing usually lmao
and there’s also Voltron Force Keith, which is what I grew up with (he loses the long hair, sadly…)
and then you have all the Keiths from the different comics. like–here’s my boy from the Devil’s Due comics. Very pretty, nice eyes, always looks ready to fight
and here he is slam dunking Lotor into the fucking ground
and then of course we have VLD comics Keith, who’s like VLD Keith, except somehow more dorky I love him dearly. A good and adorable boy, he deserves a space dragon
AND THEN THERE’S VLD KEITH,,, THE LIGHT OF MY LIFE,
look at his lil face when he’s happy, I cry
brave, fierce, determined
the fact that he’s such a strong character but still has these soft, vulnerable expressions
Keith is always amazing,,
except for third dimension, but I mean,, we don’t need to to talk about that

reaction post typed while watching SPN 12x17 “The British Invasion”
the deadly duo writing anything:
06:08pm
yeah i downloaded this yesterday and i was just DREADING it so i put it off as long as it took for me to feel bad that my tumblr queue is empty. deadly duo? no thank you
even though i have next to no idea what this episode is about, i'm kinda smug that this was the least-watched episode of the season so far (via wikipedia), 1.57 million vs the 1.7m~ average this season, and will probably remain the least-watched episode given we’re nearing the end of the season
things i don’t care about that i’m expecting to happen: reversing/erasing mick’s character development with only the slightest hint to previous episodes, no cas, no characters of colour (or alternately, characters of colour who die or have something else horrible happen to them), lady characters with little to no personality and a weird inclination to rape or kill people, consent issues in general, logic fails, a wonky plotline that makes no sense and fucks up all the work better writers have done all season - and indeed, throughout the entire 12 seasons of the show
(in case you’re new here, i don’t like these writers one bit, and i’m forever bitter that they still write their garbage for an otherwise okay/good show, and, most importantly, never seem to attempt to improve. i give them the benefit of the doubt every episode and they always let me down. i, like many people, have stopped expecting things.)
aside from the occasional use of the b-word and a lack of characters of colour, this show is otherwise fine - and has at least improved with the misogyny and representation in recent years. but i’m pretty sure a majority of the really shitty racist rapey misogynist stuff in this show has the deadly duo’s names on it. they keep writing things that erase other people’s better ideas and change the course of the story, and alter the overall feel of it, and since their episodes irrevocably become part of the canon, their writing never stops affecting the show negatively.
someone give me a meme where they are forcibly removed from the planet
okay okay enough whining let’s just watch this thing
-
06:23
oh god no the adorable deaf lady eileen is in the recap
IF SHE DIES
I WILL PERSONALLY EXHALE MY ACTUAL SOUL
AND HAVE IT FLOAT ACROSS THE OCEAN IN A HAZE OF FURY TO VISIT THESE WRITERS
AND I WILL ḊẼ̍̍S̈T̑R͑̌̃̊̊̆̄O͊ͧ̏Ý̊͂ ͂ͯ̉̈́͋T̡͇͔H̯̼E̗̹̹̜͞M̳͚̫
-
06:26
mick looks so much like cas that if someone missed the previous episode, and then saw this recap, they’d probably just think cas got a haircut and didn’t shave for a couple days
-
06;27
funny how “outside london, england” looks remarkably like vancouver
-
06;28
eyyy the framing so the headmistress has horns
i’m a sucker for that kind of symbolism
-
06;29
tbh this is giving me a doctor who vibe, maybe because of the british school kids and a creepy vibe
specifically the episode with anthony head as the headmaster and the screechy bat aliens
-
06:33
but three episodes ago mick didn’t raise his hand when sam (or mary?) asked “who here has killed something”
inconsistency, or mick just lying by keeping quiet?
-
06;39
EILEEN HI YOUR HAIR LOOKS GOOD
-
sam: “so, after we talked, you went back to coeur d'alene, idaho?”
eileen: “right”
the exposure script........ guys........... i’m suffering
-
06;42
“i did some digging, check your phone”
eileen talks the same way sam does, that’s cool
-
DEAN LOOK AT THE GODDAMN ROAD
-
06:44
“that’s the plan”
i wanna hug eileen so badly, she makes me happy
-
06;45
eileen: “bye sam”
dean: “that’s cute”
sam: “c’mon”
yeah DEAN it IS really cute when two people are in a long-distance relationship and have a phone conversation and say “bye [insert name here]” at the end of the phone call
speaking of, WHERE’S CAS. WHEN DID YOU LAST TALK
-
06:48
mick is basically crowley and cas mixed together and poured into one asshole with a pretty face and childhood trauma
man they need some new character archetypes
-
06:51
dean: “it’s not kelly’s fault, she didn’t know lucifer was her boyfriend”
mick: “yeah, could happen to anyone”
SOMEONE LOOK ME IN THE FACE AND TELL ME THAT’S NOT ABOUT SEASON 11 POSSESSED!CAS DESTIEL, I DARE YOU
-
06:53
mick: “you should’ve shot her between the eyes immediately”
i still see these kinds of comments on the spn people’s instagram, i guess a lot of people missed the point of the season where the boys are going for the Some Monsters Are Decent People approach
-
06;55
lucifer and diagon’s telepathic conversation kinda reminds me of season 4/5 for some reason. makes me a lil nostalgic
-
07:01
dean’s all squirmy and sleepy and wants to cuddle his own arm
-
07:02
doctor to daigon: “you’re her... partner?”
diagon: “no.”
doctor: “birth coach?”
diagon: “sure”
cute character thing or lowkey homophobia, who knows
-
07:05
lucifer’s hair looks fluffy
also i feel dull inside and kinda melancholy
this episode makes me feel like i’ve forgotten something and it’s cold outside and there’s no heater inside, and as though i’ve got five hours left to wait until dinner
just generally unenthused, really
and very distinctly, it’s reminding me of 2007/2008 when every day felt like that, at the peak of my doctor who obsession, when i started watching spn. idk i don’t feel good right now, i want this to be over
feels like i’m wasting time
-
07:10
lucifer licking the floor
nnnnnnnnnnnn
this is so unnecessary
GUYS I WANNA STOP I’M SO OVER WATCHING THIS SAME TROPE AGAIN AND AGAIN
-
07:11
i figured it out!! it’s like a background episode. something you put on while you do something else, and don’t really bother to watch
that’s what they were going for right
because that’s what they got
-
07:15
ketch: “mrs winchester, i believe you’re drawn to danger”
*cough* dangerous john winchester *cough*
also as cute as the murder pair are together, i’m not digging the mary/ketch thing personally
-
07:16
legit thought this was cas for 2 seconds and i got excited
same fucking nose and everything
-
19:19
!1!! wow!!! a nameless, personality-free murderous black man who attacks an innocent white man unprovoked for no obvious reason!!!!!!!! how fucking realistic and topical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
/sarcasm
WHaT THE ACTUAL FUCK
ARE THEY
FUCKING
DOING
my exhaled soul is puking right now
it’s okay soul, they’re just mean nasty racists who don’t know any better and keep doing the same problematic things over and over without a moment of self-reflection!!!
f̡̼̮̼̹u͉̲͎͇̰ck̫̦̣̠̀i̘̘̯̖̙̹ͅn҉̼̙̰̰̞͉g͚̻̝̯̳̗̠ ḊẼ̍̍S̈T̑R͑̌̃̊̊̆̄O͊ͧ̏Ý̊͂ ͂ͯ̉̈́͋T̡͇͔H̯̼E̗̹̹̜͞M̳͚̫
look, nobody can ever, ever tell me that the writers don’t have a say in what kind of actor is cast for a role. they absolutely do. and you can tell, because the ones who are the worst in every other possible way are ALSO the ones who cast their rare characters of colour only into the Bad Guy/Dead Guy/Doormat roles. and it’s always the same. it’s one ~innocent coincidence~ after another and IT ALL ADDS UP TO nOT a FUCKiNG cOINCIDENCE
some writers have the capacity to offer diversity and positive representation, or are at least aware of what they might improve in the future. but these guys? all they offer are mere caricatures of good things that are actually poison, based on cliches and stereotypes. and i can’t stand it (┛◉Д◉)┛彡┻━┻
TWELVE YEARS
TWELVE YEARS WE’VE PUT UP WITH THESE FUCKHOLES
WHY ARE THEY STILL WRITING THE SAME SHIT
-
07:48
cas: “this is a voicemail. make yourrr... voice... a mail.”
sounds like chandler bing trying to make a jingle for “voicemail” (”pants! they’re like shorts, but looonger”)
also how often does cas change his phone/voicemail? i swear he had a different voicemail a few weeks back. if the brothers taught cas to change phones often, imagine all the “new phone it’s me” messages they must send.
also if you’ve ever set up a new phone you know it’s way more time-consuming than you’d think. at least for me. i think i’ve only set up voicemail once in my life and i never did it again on a new phone. right now i don’t even have a sim card or phone number, i just use my phone with the home wifi and it only has space for 5 apps and no photos or anything. you people with your fancy phones that do everything, i don’t know what that’s like. cas must be so tech-savvy by now. i wonder if he just keeps getting the same make and model of phone over and over. also that must cost hELLA CASH like where are they getting that money?? are they still running credit card scams? (how many credit card companies ARE there to scam?? do they scam the same people multiple times? if they’re at the bunker all the time wouldn’t companies realise their cards are going to the same place and are potentially being used in the same stores?) is cas being financially supported by dean and sam? I WANT ANSWERS
-
07:50
so the winchesters never say ‘bye’ at the end of phone calls
and if the script hadn’t let jared know that dean’s phone call was over, then sam is talking REALLY LOUDLY even though dean could theoretically still be on the phone to cas
also since eileen is deaf sam doesn’t need to fucking shout????????//
-
07:52
so the black dude with a knife is a) evil, b) dead
thanks that’s so great yay just what i always wanted ಠ_ಠ
i get that eileen is A Capable Deaf Woman but ffs have these people ever heard of not throwing other oppressed people under the steamroller to elevate a disabled white woman
-
08:01
sam where the hell did you pick up that accent
-
08;11
okay the whole thing about daigon vanishing and eileen shooting the slimy british guy and then mick not shooting eileen was pretty cool
consistent character development!!! and daigon still lives!!!
but also why was it sam bargaining for eileen’s life..... romance probably
-
08:14
NNNNNNNNNN
KETCH AND MARY
/SQUIRMY UNCOMFORTABLE FEELING
this offically counts as a notp now
if the deadly duo thinks it’s a good idea then it’s a big ol nope from me
urhghgh flashbacks to 9x03 and how i actually told myself it was cute for 2 minutes before i burst into tears, and i didn’t know why i was so upset until tumblr explained me a thing
(i still have that reaction post somewhere. it wasn’t on tumblr, it was just to my friends)
-
08:17
also if we humour these dickwads and think about this mary/ketch pairing for a second, if we ever needed confirmation that john winchester was abusive, can we take it from the fact mary has a type ?
ugh god the heteronormativity of it all, too
it’s different to me suggesting ketch/dean had potential, because the point is dean HATES ketch and doesn’t trust him a bit, they could fuck and they both know there’s no safety and wouldn’t let their guards down for a second. wheras mary seems to trust ketch and values his approval and therein lies the danger of an abusive relationship.
and YES, anyone who’s thinking “elmie you complain about everything”, i’m complaining because everything IS a problem
deadly duo ep? more like ✧・゚:*✧・゚: U N N E C E S S A R Y B U L L S H I T *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
-
08:23
all that said, ketch is still a cute fumbling bean tbh
if he wasn’t the kinda guy who would beat someone to death when he’s angry, this might work fine
THE CUTENESS IS A RUSE. HE’S SEDUCING US ALL
-
08:27
lucifer likes making the cute demon all flustered, pass it on
10/10 bisexual devil
(also: observe the pick-n-mix of deadly duo characters of colour-- fig b; cute black demon = Bad Guy + Doormat)
-
08:35
lady: “hunters are dogs”
ketch’s smirk was definitely about mary and again i’m ehhhhhhh on the subject
-
08;37
:c
mick
nooo
fuck you ketch
:c
i has a sad
-
08;38
dean’s humid sigh because he doesn’t know if cas is okay. he also has a sad
-
08:40
for the first time ever, my video file has next week’s preview tacked on the end
next week’s looks hella better than this week’s
fuck yeah give me a basement goat deity
-
08:41
*sighhhh*
okay well
i get it, i get why this episode was the way it was, with mick and ketch and whatever
but
i dunno. there’s always these episodes that make me think “elmie, why are you watching this show again? there’s nothing in its contents that makes you happy or furthers your education or even interests you slightly”
but then i remember how much i like the other episodes by other writers
the problem is that when these people write something it brings everyone else down, and brings the whole show down
when i don’t enjoy an episode’s plot points, it’s solely because it wasn’t written well enough. it’s possible to watch a character you’re emotionally attached to die and say “ooh that was good watching” (i.e. “death’s door” with bobby)
yeah, some stuff happened that i didn’t like, but it’s the context of These Writers Being The Ones Who Wrote It that makes it dissatisfying. like, sure, important plot points. but it could’ve been so much better.
4/10, didn’t give a crap about anything except mick, eileen and kelly, and then mick was dead, eileen was written as a plot device for the men (i like that she was soft and emotional though, i never see myself in always-badass women), and kelly just got tossed around and told she’s gonna die because of her decision to keep the baby, and therefore her ability to choose her own fate was erased henceforth
bechdel test pass though. that was nice.
*dean voice* “dude, don’t compliment the bad guys”
#me: salty AF as per usual#12x17#deadly duo#the british invasion#season 12#Elmie watches things#post of postiness#yes this is a day late... you'll see why

Pirate meta of doom
by request of @quirkygown , I have very carefully not really sorta kinda put together a fun lil’ meta about the parallels between young Victor Trevor wearing an eye patch and John Watson getting shot in the eyeball.
First, let’s say for funzies that EMP is not involved, and Sherlock was alive and awake for the bizarre duration of TLD. I have theories about the wonky timeline in that episode, but for now we will stick to what we were given.
The opening scene in TLD is an image of a literal smoking gun.
Then it pans slowly down
I assure you, if I could do gifs, I’d be all over that, but I’m not that crafty.
And lands on an image of John on his back with only his right eye showing. The angle is strange and is probably done that way because, well, artistic intent. or whatever. But also as if we are experiencing this from John’s level. The next frame is from above John:
Again we only get a shot (haha) of John’s right eye. He does not appear as one would after being shot with a tranquilizer gun. He looks more like he is in shock. Also- tranq guns don’t smoke. that’s what the inter-webs told me.
The scene changes to John lying in bed (not this hardwood floor) with an imaginary Mary. The rest of the episode goes on. This is where the Mind Bungalow theory comes in. And the wonky timeline.
At the end of TLD, Eurus confronts John and the big reveal is that she’s Sherlock’s sister etc. and says she wants to put a hole in his face.
And fires a shot. We don’t see the bullet leave the chamber, but there is a puff of smoke and we get this:
Which is very James Bond, but also suggests blood running through John’s vision, since we are made to look at it through his eyes.
Now I could post a bunch of links from Google to pages where people discuss getting shot in the head vs. the eye and basically it breaks down to this. If it is a glancing blow, it can destroy the vision with bone fragments but not penetrate the brain. Others said that you can survive without quite a bit of brain matter, but that is neither here nor there. My best source was the director of a particular series involving zombies and a character getting shot in the eye. Not gonna spoiler it.
I theorize that Eurus didn’t want to kill John so much as use him as bait for Sherlock. The “miss me” implies Moriarty after all, and she claimed that Culverton gave her the original note. And she was surprised he missed the invisible writing and probs needed a new way to bring Sherlock to her. But let’s not get into that. Let’s talk about pirates instead!
In ASiB, when Mycroft tells John about Irene and speaks of Sherlock’s heart, he mentions that Sherlock wanted to be a pirate. This was startling news to John because he had just stated that the man didn’t feel things the way others do. So it humanized his friend. And of course Mycroft teases Sherlock with the pirate thing in T6T but John wasn’t there for that. Unless...[insert other wild theories I have]
So if we follow the Mind Bungalow theory- that John has been injured and is currently hanging out in his version of a MP while in a coma- and that he is basically dreaming all of TFP, and I would link the metas on all this, but I’m tired and bit lazy, so here’s the gist. Every imaginable movie tropes from John’s fav genres, the little girl on the plane is a mirror for John being in a coma and doesn’t know how to land, Molly is a mirror in that she’s wearing the same sweater as when she played John in TEH and is looking sad and lonely at home and making tea and pining after Sherlock etc, and tiny baby Victor Trevor, Sherlock’s only friend, looking a lot like a little John. Plaid shirts and such. Adorbs. He has an eye patch over his left eye and was put in a well by Eurus. If none of this is real, and all of it is John, he easily could have made that connection because wherever Sherlock went, John followed and if Sherlock wants to be a pirate, so will he. Because that’s what he deduces about Sherlock’s heart.
So yeah, I guess in conclusion, I’m saying that John got shot in or around his left eyeball, and will have to wear a sexy new eye patch which Sherlock will think is awesome.
so there it is; my slapdash eye patch theory in all its glory. possibly with typos. Based off of this post http://obviously-john.tumblr.com/post/156357303084/quirkygown-kimbiablue-chrysanthemumsies

reaction post typed while watching SPN 12x13 “Family Feud”
contains personal chit-chat, a selfie, and a photo of one of our iridescent chickens, because i kept getting distracted (potentially because this episode wasn’t particularly enthralling)
also, flawed time travel logic
05:18pm
i saw a promo on instagram but the sound wasn’t working, so apart from knowing crowley and rowena are in this, and shout a lot, i got no clue what’s going on. but this one’s written by the deadly duo sooooooooooo :/
also a new director named p.j. pesce. hi there, please kindly make the deadly duo’s script less offensive with good directing, thank you
-
05:20
man i hope cas is in this. but in a nice uplifting way not a bullshit frustrating no homo way
/sips tea
-
05:24
i’m so unaffected by these scare tactics
idk if it’s because i’ve watched twelve seasons of this show but i kind of zone out when the violins start shrieking
-
05:36
(people just arrived at the house, social!Elmie emerged for 2 minutes, i cleaned the bathroom, changed the towels, and greeted everyone and NOW I’M BACK AND EVEN MORE EXHAUSTED)
-
05:39
(and then i took two (NOW THREE) phone calls from my dad going like “i’m in the store and they don’t have the pasta that’s the only kind of pasta you eat, but they have this other pasta that has a thing in it you’re allergic to listed in the ingredients, do you want that?”
me: *emphatic NO*
I HATE BEING THE ONLY ONE HOME)
(AND I HAVE TO WASH MY HANDS EVERY TIME I ANSWER THE PHONE SO I’M KIND OF DIZZY FROM GETTING UP NOW)
(I PAINTED A WHOLE ROOM YESTERDAY I JUST WANT TO SIT AND DO NOTHING)
-
05:44
anyway what was i saying
oh yeah, this scene feels weirdly voyeuristic, lady getting ready for bed
“my nightly routine!! you’ll never guess what kills me”
-
05:46
a ghost’s arms pop up out of the mattress and throttle the lady to death
okay firstly, i laughed
secondly, wow that was actually kind of cool
thirdly DUDE ALL FOUR OF YOUR LIMBS WERE IN THE BED, THAT’S MEANT TO PROTECT YOU
fourthly, i heard something like this happened in the hotel version of american horror story?? i don’t watch it but i heard about something living inside a mattress
fifthly ACCURATE PHOTO FRAME BLOOD SPLATTER 15 points for the mattress ghost
-
05:49
end of a phone call to cas. welp i’m guessing that’s all we’ll hear from him, with no other mentions
/sigh
LET’S IMAGINE THE REST OF THAT CALL WAS “I MISS YOU” AND “TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, AND I’LL TAKE CARE OF YOU WHEN YOU GET BACK, CAS. BUY MILK”
-
05:54
god after so many seasons fuelled completely by the winchesters’ extended family lying to each other i’m so not in the mood for more of the same
mary, your choices make sense but they sicken me
-
05:55
mary: hey, i love you
BUT DID DEAN SAY IT BACK
-
05:58
oh yeah of course it takes several months before crowley explains to lucifer how he’s back in his old vessel
pfff
-
05:59
crowley: “we found your discarded vessel a few years ago”
but... didn’t lucifer still have the same vessel with glowing red eyes when rowena raised him from the cage last year
-
06:00
“improved it”
and by that you mean gave it a 90s teen haircut and gel and highlights
-
06:02
lucifer is hardcore queercoding himself right now
(or is that just how mark pellegrino talks? i’m not sure pls forgive. it’s cute, and tbh i love it deep down, but it’s potentially problematic in the grand scheme of audiences who associate obvious/outward queerness with badness)
-
06:05
these suncatcher rainbows tho
mmmm purple was a good decision
definitely suits me
hi reflection of plants from outside on my glasses
THIS ROOM IS PLEASANT NOW I’M SO HAPPY
it was a gross green/yellow/beige colour before. i intend to paint every room in the entire house eventually because it’s all that icky colour and i hate it
-
06:13
well after so many distractions, at least i can say this episode isn’t holding my attention very well
-
06:16
if the spooky suddenly-cold ghost thing happened to me i’d just start talking and introducing myself to the ghost
idk if it would work but clearly running away, or staring at things in bewilderment and then screaming does nothing for anyone
-
06:19
you know what, i think i realised why this isn’t holding my attention. i’ve had to repeat the scene where the lady tells sam and dean some information twice, and they’re talking about stuff that seems kind of abstract. i think the script is probably a little more “tell” rather than “show” which doesn’t really work for this particular kind of visual storytelling at all. they’re talking a lot, but showing mostly faces and unknown people rather than objects and actions, and all the new characters have no obvious personality besides their faces and their standard responses to standard questions
-
06:23
giant ship in the background
i know it’s a shipping museum but FANDOM SYMBOLISM
guess this one was for the wincest people
-
06:24
sam: “adhd spirits”
unsure if that was offensive or an accurate descriptor
-
06:25
diner lady: “when are you due?”
kelly: (clearly unhappy) i have no idea
diner lady: well, take it from me. before kids, your life is yours. once they show up, life as you know it is over
WOW THAT’S NOT THE CORRECT RESPONSE TO KELLY’S EXPRESSION OR TONE OF VOICE
oh right, an angel. that makes sense. autistic with a twisted sense of humour.
-
06:29
okay when does dean ever talk to himself (except if he’s talking to his car or to food??)
and NO THE AZTECS’ PRACTICES WERE FUCKED UP. DEAN TAKE A HISTORY LESSON
also .....i know this is a running theme recently, but why the hell is dean so clumsy with valuable artefacts
imagine him fumbling with a gun and dropping bullets???? no!!! maybe a model ship, they’re tricky things to handle and that was symbolic. but WHY A KNIFE
-
06:36
lucifer: “oh my dad”
even after so long and such bad rapey writing from these exact writers, i still love lucifer
his evil is sort of an endearing evil maybe
-
06:38
“get a library card”
and i love rowena
HEY WHAT IF SAM HAS A COLLECTION OF LIBRARY CARDS FROM ALL OVER THE USA
WHAT IF HE ACTIVELY COLLECTS THEM
IN THE NAME OF RESEARCH
if dean has space to lug around 15 suits and 10 coats and 30 ties and 300 plaid shirts, sam has space for 1500 library cards
-
06:39
ugh god what is with people demanding shit from rowena and making her do things against her will
sam i thought you’d go easy on her since she legit saved dean’s life 2 weeks ago
WHY IS IT ALL SO TOXIC
-
06:44
AAAH MY MOTHER JUST SHOWED ME A VIDEO from this morning in our chicken coop
WE HAVE ~15 BABY CHICKS THEY’RE SO FLUFFY AND CONFUSED
AAAAH
i’mma go see them very soon, maybe when the sun’s down because i’mma get sunburn otherwise, it’s delightfully sunny right now
-
06:47
why do i feel like this black guy is gonna die
-
06:48
WELP
there we go
/siiiiiiiiiiiiiigh
-
06:49
“come with me if you wanna live”
i’m guessing this is ramiel’s sister
obviously she’s gonna die eventually ‘cause she’s a demon and i don’t know how i feel about that ‘cause i kinda like her
-
06:51
right now i’m INTO IT and this always happens at the halftime mark of a deadly duo episode. one of these writers is a good ‘un
-
06:54
rowena is so fucking pretty ughhghthggh <3
-
06:59
gavin: “my fiona’s a ghost?!”
see NOW i’m digging this episode and the storyline and the script and the characters
-
07:00
sun’s gone down, i’mma go see these baby chickens before it gets dark
-
07:20
all the chicks were hiding under their mothers, so no sightings today
but LOOK AT THIS FREAKING IRIDESCENT CHICKEN
-
07:37
thAT TWISTY-CAMERA GHOST MIST
COOL
-
07:42
i see dean and sam still have the angel feathers
where do these angel feathers come from
where did the MoL get these feathers
HOW DO YOU MAKE WINGS CORPOREAL
WHEN WILL CAS SHOW US HIS WINGS
-
07:43
what i want to know is how they get the blood off all the walls once they’ve done all these spells
-
07:44
dean to sam: “beam him up, scotty”
if sam’s scotty then dean’s kirk and cas is spock
this works a little too well
-
07:45
so
a love story again
why do i feel like this is kind of about dean
(because it’s always about dean)
and he’s the one in focus in this shot
kind of like “look what the dude did for the person he loved!!!” sort of thing
-

dean: “so the victims at the school are all back to work, it’s like nothing ever happened”
okay but if nothing happened and none of them died, then how can they go BACK to work? and if they’d been at work all along, how would dean know, since that wouldn’t make news stories??? and if dean and sam remember everything, wouldn’t the people at the school remember too? if all of fiona’s actions were erased (including deaths), then dean and sam wouldn’t have been in town to investigate, and gavin wouldn’t have shown up, rendering this entire plotline non-existent
THIS DOESN’T MAKE SENSE
YOUR TIME TRAVEL LOGIC IS FLAWED

YAY MARY COMES CLEAN AND THIS DOESN’T TURN INTO A MASSIVE YOU-LIED-TO-ME ARC

mary: Do Not Give Me The Face
dean: What Face.
mary: You Know The Face
dean: There’s No Face
mary: That’s The Face
yeah sounds about right
cas has that one categorised as “Oh No Dean Thinks I Fucked Up, Time To Do Puppy Eyes”

sam: “broken ribs and burnt feet” and [pause for everyone to say “brain rape” in their heads] “we don’t trust the brits”

okay well
mostly that was meh
some of it was okay
the time travel part was all mangled and self-erasing according to its own rules so i don’t know what to say about that
i dunno. it was just.. dull, overall
but that love story though. i’m not sure how or why yet, but it seemed to affect dean
maybe we’re just back to the “dean loves love” thing
i’d give this a 7/10 maybe. i wanna go 6/10 but that seems harsh given it wasn’t as dramatically offensive as usual, it was just a lil wonky. more tying up of loose plot ends, that’s good. bechdel test pass!! two surviving asian ladies, one of whom has a name. cool. several dead women and a black guy though. :/
also, regarding the angels that went poof! when daigon stabbed them. they went poof! like ramiel did when stabbed with his own magic spear. except he was a demon. when angels are stabbed by that it kills them slowly, poisoned like cas was. i’m guessing daigon has her own magic weapons that makes demons go poof! then
bluhbluhlbuhbluh okay that’s all bye
