Harsh Words
REQUEST: When Y/n getting hurt the way Bakugou talks to her due to the tone of his voice, ended up fighting when y/n tried to tell him about it, Bakugou getting mad, both of them not talking for days/weeks, Bakugou getting triggered when Y/n is always with Shoto since they were friends too..Ahhhh thank you 🤧
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Enjoy! :)
Pairing: Reader x Bakugou Katsuki
Genre: Hurt/Comfort
Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me...yeah that’s bullshit. Doesn’t apply to Katsuki Bakugou. Y/N finds out first hand. The true impact of his words hits Katsuki two weeks too late, as the need to have his partner back wins over his pride.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y/N lived for the rare gentle moments, sleepy conversations, quietly studying together, taking care of the other’s wounds. Although they were rare, Y/N cherished every single gentle movement with her fiery boyfriend.
Right now, though, Bakugou was anything but gentle
“Stop being dramatic.”
The words stung, especially when considering how hard Y/N was trying not to snap at him. SHe just wanted a rational conversation to discuss this. She crosses her arms, her face twisting into a scowl.
“I’m not being dramatic, Katsuki! Just listen to me for once!”
Katsuki was rough around the edges, there was no doubt, and it was one of the things that made Y/N fall for him a year ago. The past few weeks, however, had been particularly rough. His insults towards her had been much meaner, his tone harsher. Although she has always been on the lesser end of his receiving temper, this was taking a toll on her.
She finally had enough when he had insulted her clumsiness in front of the whole class in the dorm common area. She remembers full well the crash of the glass as it shattered upon impact, hitting the ground, followed by a snort and a “What? You got two left feet to match your useless quirk now?”. She had stormed out of the room, eyes glassy and Bakugou had followed her.
And here they were.
“You’ve been horrible to me this whole past month! I don’t know what the hell is wrong with you, that you think it was okay to yell at me like that in front of everyone, but-”
“I’ve been exactly the same. You know what you got yourself into when you started dating me. Don’t get all sensitive now.” he rolls his eyes, fixing her with a glare. The way he completely dismisses her makes her want to bang her head against a wall with frustration. He didn’t get it. She was human too, and she had a limit to her patience.
“You’re just being an asshole lately! This has nothing to do with me being sensitive.”
“The fact that you’re yelling at me proves that it does.” He yells, before taking a step closer. “What? Can’t handle an insult, dumbass? This bothers you that much?” He mocks her on the last part, tilting his head in a fake sympathetic look.
“You know what? Fuck you!” She yells back, shaking her head, tears of anger and frustration trailing down her cheeks. “I don’t have to deal with this shit. Come talk to me once you fix your shitty attitude and decide to stop being a literal asshole to me.” Y/N turns on heel and walks out of his room, ignoring Bakugou’s angry calls for her to come back.
Her tears unsettled him, although he doesn’t admit it. He feels guilt, or some variant of it, eat away at his insides, knowing he was the reason for their distress. He did care about her, a little too much in his opinion. He watches the door shut behind her.
Scoffing he moves over to his desk, sitting down and running a hand through his head angrily. He wasn’t any more of an asshole than he usually was, he was sure of it. Right?
Lost in his though, he idly fidgets with a pen from the holder at his desk. He recalls Y/N frowning a lot more these days...and she didn’t really bite back to his jabs anymore...when was the last time they had actually spent time together? Gone out? Now that he thought about it he hadn’t had a quiet moment with her in a week or two.
Huffing out a breath, he shakes his head to himself. Whatever. He would do something about that once she came back to him and apologised. That’s how it usually worked after one of their fights. Y/N was the first one to apologise, then he’d do his part silently by spoiling her or spending time with her. It was his way of a silent apology. She always came to him first though, knowing his pride wouldn’t let him be the first to admit the fault lied with him.
Bakugou is left hanging for the first time. He expected nothing to happen on the first day, or the second day...but two weeks later?
Y/N had not talked to him for two weeks, and he was itching for things to go back to normal. He didn’t want to admit how much this was affecting him. Not having her to study quietly with, or cuddle with at night, or someone to nag at him for pushing himself too hard...it was annoyingly frustrating. He wanted her back. He wanted her so damn badly and he was starting to crack.
He feels especially shitty today as he watches her walk straight past their usual table, to join another table, where she’d been sitting at for the length of time she’d been...ignoring him. The fact that it was Deku’s table only worked harder to piss him off. He watches, his eyes narrowing in an intense stare as she slips into the seat next to Todoroki.
Icyhot.
Another reason he’d been especially prickly. Y/N was good friends with Deku’s group, he knew that. It’s not like he could, or would, stop her from doing what she wanted. He wasn’t like that, even he wasn’t that much of an asshole.
He can’t help but shift restlessly in his place, as he sees her relaxed, giggling at something Icyhot had said. He didn’t even know the guy was capable of making jokes. Gritting his teeth, he turns away, focusing on the conversation the idiots around him were having.
He manages to keep himself at bay for about 15 minutes, before he sees Y/N and Todoroki get up...together, and leave. Together. The fact that she didn’t even spare him a glance as she walked by definitely didn’t feel like someone was painfully squeezing his heart. Obviously not. As he stares at them leaving, his eyes narrow when the Half and Half bastard puts an arm around her shoulders and leads her out. He gets up suddenly and follows them, fuming.
Y/N was miserable ever since the argument. She was tired and hurting and today was especially hard for some reason. The moment she walked into the cafeteria, she felt her boyfriend's eyes on her. Ignoring them, refusing to look his way, she made her way over to Izuku’s table. He wasn’t going to be the one to apologise. If he truly cared about her and their relationship, he would have to swallow his pride and come to her.
The whole time she’d been a little dazed, and on the brink of tears, effectively hiding it underneath laughs and jokes. She fooled pretty much everyone except the quiet guy next to her. About 15 minutes into lunch, she feels Todoroki nudge her and point to the door, a look of muted worry plastered on his face. Y/N can do nothing to protest without bursting into tears so she complies, standing and excusing herself.
By the time she’s nearing the exit door, her shoulders are shaking, and she feels Todoroki’s steadying arm around her. She welcomes the comforting touch.
He leads her to an empty hallway, pulling her into a classroom. He prompts her to sit on one of the desks, taking a seat next to her. Y/N feels bad about placing her worries on her friend, but she can’t help but let it out. She knew Todoroki was a good listener and that he wouldn’t judge her. By the time she’s done recounting the past painful weeks, there are tears running down her cheeks.
Todoroki awkwardly looks around for a second, before placing a hesitant hand on her shoulder and comforting her. He was trying his best, but the look of uncomfort on his face was almost comical. He wanted to be there for his friend, and Y/N was thankful for it. She looks up and offers Todoroki a shaky smile. She goes to thank him, when she’s cut off by a familiar harsh voice.
“The hell are you two doing?” Bakugou stands, eyes narrowed at the two of them, a scowl on his face. Why were they so close? They didn’t need to be this close.
“Bakugou.” Todoroki nods, standing. Y/N glances at him once, before looking away, determined to keep ignoring him. She doesn’t know why he’s here. He hasn’t tried to talk to her at all. She doesn’t realise she’s tuned out the conversation between the other two, which in retrospect, was a horrible idea knowing how much Bakugou disliked Todoroki, she’s only snapped out of her thoughts when she hears the door slam, causing her to jump.
Bakugou stands there for a second, before narrowing his eyes and walking towards her. She stays where she is on the desk, shifting her gaze to stare at the ground. Why was he still here? Where had Todoroki gone?
She stills as she feels him stop in front of her. Feeling his hands rest on the desk either side of her, he hears him scoff when she doesn’t look up. Hearing him shift, he grasps her chin and makes her look at him.
Although he has his usual scowl and annoyed expression, Y/N can identify mild worry as his eyes scan over her face. It’s very evident that she’s been crying, her eyes still puffy. She doesn’t have time to react, before Bakugou steps forward and slides his hands up to her sides pulling her into a...hug? He rests his chin on top of her head and holds her tightly to himself.
What?
After her momentary confusion, she struggles half heartedly to get him to let go of her. However much she didn’t want to admit it, she missed this.
She missed him.
Pretty son she gives up and stays there, letting him stand in front of her and hold her. He’s fully aware of the tears slowly soaking the front of his shirt.
“What do you want?” Y/N asks quietly, a single hand clutching the back of his shirt. She feels, doesn’t hear, his mouth move in her hair. Pulling away slightly she looks up. Even when she’s sitting down on a desk, he’s still a little taller. His gaze flickers to her eyes, before going back to looking at something behind her. He mumbles something Y/N can’t quite hear, but he doesn’t loosen his grip around her.
“...What the hell are you say-”
“I’m sorry.” He finally says properly, shifting his gaze back to her.
Y/N’s pretty sure that’s the first time she’s heard him genuinely say those words. “Are you?” Ignoring the hope swelling inside her, she tilts her head in question. She wouldn’t let him get off the hook that easily.
He looks slightly annoyed, before remembering why they were in this situation in the first place. “I am. I...shit, I didn’t realise I was hurting you. The past few weeks have been shit without you. I’m sorry.” He mutters the last part again, heat creeping up his neck. It looks like he was struggling to get the words out.
“You did. Hurt me, that is. That won’t change.”
“I know.” His voice is unusually quiet. “Won’t happen again.”
“It will.” Bakugou looks surprised at that. “I’m not telling you to become a whole different person, Katsuki.”
She brings up a hand and cups his cheek, smiling a little when he leans into the touch. She was glad she wasn’t the only one being affected by this fight.
“That brash loud part of you is the guy I fell for. I don’t want that to change. It’s just...yelling at me like that in front of everyone wasn’t cool. You really made me feel like shit.”
Bakugou let’s that sink in, before scoffing and tightening his grip around her. The guilt that had been brewing over the days comes crashing like a wave. “I said it wouldn’t happen again, didn’t I? You think I make empty promises, dumbass?” He didn’t. He’d keep his word.
Y/N responds by tugging on his shirt and pulling him closer and resting her head on his shoulder, humming a little at how warm he was. She feels him reach up and brush her hair off her forehead and place a small peck on it.
She knew how un-Bakugou-like that was. It showed her that he really was sorry. She swears it could be her mind playing tricks on her, but she’s sure she heard Bakugou say something. Smiling into the fabric of his shirt, she responds.
“I missed you too.”

Hi! I love you blog. May I have a one shot where Todoroki has a huge crush on the reader and has no clue what to do. So he goes to the flirt of 1A Denki. And can it be fluffy with a hint of suggestive. Thanks! 💓
setting up shoto
Tumblr media
featuring: todoroki
was inspired by the first ep of s5 and really ran with this idea so i hope it’s okay! this turned out pretty long so get comfy and enjoy the read! x
todoroki had felt many intense emotions before, but none as intense as a romantic love. he didn’t know what he was feeling whenever he saw you. he felt as though it was just simple admiration, that you’re his friend and he is your friend. nothing more and nothing less. he wrote off the pang in his chest when he would suddenly see you as a surprise, like he felt when he watched you walk outside the grounds of the dorm building. however, he didn’t feel the same feeling when another voice appeared behind him.
“hey, todoroki! whatcha doing? oh, spying on y/n i see. planning to make a move?” kaminari observed.
“i wasn’t spying, i was just passing by. and what do you mean? i am moving.”
“no, dude, like, tell them you like them.”
“why would i have to tell them that? they’re already my friend.”
“no, like, more than friends.”
“i’m not sure that it’s like that.”
“so you don’t like y/n? you just stare at them all the time on purpose?”
“i don’t stare. and of course, i like them. i just told you that they’re my friend.”
kaminari looked at him in disbelief. “you can be really dense sometimes, you know that? look, man, i have a sense for these things and you like them way more than a friend.”
todoroki never took the time to let his feelings marinate and process them properly. he didn’t need people to tell him how to feel but it could be difficult to compartmentalize when many years of your life were spent in spite and anger. he considered that kaminari could be right about this. if someone else could play witness, he feels as though he can’t be wrong in liking you more than a friend.
“besides, i think if you tell them you like them, they can’t say no!”
“why?”
“because you’re like a babe magnet! and that’s coming from the guy with an electricity quirk.”
“why me?”
“i’m pretty sure most, if not all, of the girls secretly fawn over you. also, i’d be lying if kirishima and i hadn’t talked about who’s the best looking guy in the class, not including ourselves, of course.”
he had heard this once before, but he couldn’t really care less about who’s the ‘best-looking’ in their class. not to mention that todoroki had absolutely no idea why they would pick him. he could say he is strong and has a pretty good handle on his quirk but other than that he’s pretty regular and nothing out of the ordinary. the fact that he’s hearing this from no one other than kaminari makes it even less credible.
“look, man. i know you’ve been pining after them for three years now, ever since we all joined class A! i think it’s time you guys get together! and you came to just the right guy.”
“you came to me.”
“so you’ll let me help you?”
“uh, sure?”
“yes! okay, you won’t regret this. actually, you’re probably going to be thanking me so you better practice now.”
“...thank you?”
“okay, come by my room later tonight. by then, i’ll have a plan that is sure to work for you.”
todoroki didn’t really see the point of this and he almost didn’t go but he said he would let his friend help him. so that’s how he found himself out front of kaminari’s dorm room, not knowing what to expect.
he knocked politely on the door. there was some shuffling around and then he heard a voice through the door.
“password, please.”
“denki, it’s me.”
“i texted you the password.”
“yeah, but i don’t really want to say that--”
“just say what i texted you!”
“i don’t even know what it means.”
“it’s okay, you don’t have to know what it means! you just have to say it.”
todoroki sighed, preparing to humor his friend. “uh….big dong boys?”
“password accepted.” the door opened and as he entered the room, todoroki was greeted by another familiar face.
“hey, man!”
“hope you don’t mind that i invited kirishima as well. he’s good support,” kaminari explained.
“so todoroki,” kirishima began. “i heard about your crush on y/n.”
shoto liked these guys but sometimes he really didn’t know how to interact with them.
“uh, sure?”
“that’s awesome, dude! i’m sure they’ll love to go out with you. kaminari and i have been brainstorming for a bit and we think we’ve come up with something good. you wanna explain?”
todoroki looked over to denki who nodded. “thank you. alright, so you and y/n are at the same work study, right?”
“yeah. it’s me, them, and camie.”
“okay, good-- wait, CAMIE?! that chick from shiketsu?”
todoroki blinked in his pause. “yeah.”
“why didn’t you say anything? that girl is so hot. oh my god, dude, you have to help me after this--”
“alright, man, can you just keep going with the plan?” kirishima chimed. todoroki appreciated that at least one other person didn’t want to completely waste his time.
“right. right. so we were thinking that you and y/n could go on a mission together to ‘fight a villain’ or something dangerous like that.”
todoroki was perplexed by this seemingly simple solution. “but...we always go out on patrols together.”
“yeah, but this time, you guys will apprehend a villain and save people together and they’ll see how totally awesome and manly you are!” kirishima added.
“i still don’t see how that’s any different from what we do normally.”
“hmm, yeah, now that i think about it, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of stakes here.” kaminari thought out loud.
“hey, wait, remember that thing we read about earlier?”
“oh, you mean that quiz about which haikyuu boy would hate you? i already told you, man, atsumu would definitely have beef with you. no question.”
“no, not that!” kirishima refuted. “although i do agree. he’d be pretty jealous of me.”
todoroki was rethinking about trusting these two with something like this.
“but i’m talking about that thing we read about with the bridge?”
“oh, yeah...but can you explain it? i’m still a little lost by it,” kaminari admitted.
“okay, so earlier before you came in, we were doing some research on how to make someone more attracted to you and we found this study where they had people walk across a super tall bridge and rate photos of people. and they monitored their heart rate when they were on the bridge so they figured out that there’s, like, a connection between liking people and dangerous situations.”
todoroki grimaced while trying to work it out in his head. “so...you want to put y/n on a bridge and then they’ll...be attracted to me? i don’t get it.”
“no, i’m saying that there should be some kind of danger to them and then you save them or something--”
“and they’ll be like, ‘oh, todoroki, i love you! kiss me!’ mwah, mwah, mwah.”
kaminari made kissing noises at todoroki, very close to him, in fact.
“okay, i think i see now,” he replied, pushing kaminari out of his face. “so do we just wait for a villain to show up or?”
“no, that’s part of the ruse!” kaminari clarified. “don’t worry, dude. we got it all sorted out. you just have to be your icyhot heroic self!”
“but you’re not actually going to hurt them or anything, right?”
“no, because you’ll be there to help them!” kirishima jumped in again. “i think we all know you’re pretty capable of handling anything.”
“i’d at least like to know what i’m up against.”
“no, that’ll ruin the fun! then it’ll be more like a real fight,” kaminari justified.
it was true that most villain encounters are a surprise and you never really know what you’re getting yourself into as a hero. in fact, that’s the majority of being a hero entailed: being ready for anything. however, todoroki could not escape the feeling of something going awry, despite this being planned out. but he figured that it could be worth it to try.
“alright, let’s do it,” he agreed with the other two boys.
“yes! don’t you worry one bit, man. just leave it to me and kiri,” kaminari promised as kirishima nodded in agreement.
they told him that they would shoot for two days’ time, after they got the villain or whoever set-up and it was during a shift at the agency. however, not even a day had passed until word got around the dorm of what was going to happen.
“todoroki,” yaoyorozu caught his attention one day in the common area of the dorm, while some of the class was eating dinner together. “is what kirishima and kaminari been talking about true?”
suddenly, almost everyone’s eyes were on him. luckily, you weren’t in the room but this conversation seemed to take place at an unfortunate time.
“uh, what have you heard?”
“that you’re trying to woo y/n by saving them from a villain,” ashido interjected. “as if they couldn’t already save themselves!”
“i know they’re capable and strong, but kirishima and kaminari said it would help,” he explained, recalling what he could of their conversation from the night prior.
“that sounds like something those idiots would come up with,” jiro pointed out.
todoroki shrugged. “they said it was based on science.”
“yeah, hold on a second, jiro,” called out the electric boy himself, who entered the room with mineta. “it’s backed by science, so it has to be legit!”
jiro only rolled her eyes while uraraka tried to de-escalate. “it just sounds really dangerous, that’s all.”
“gosh, it’s like you guys have no faith in him. i mean, this is todoroki we’re talking about!” kaminari refuted. “try telling me you guys wouldn’t want to be saved by him! that’s right, you can’t.”
“listen, it’s not that your plan won’t work, kaminari,” yaoyorozu reasoned. “it’s just that he might want to try something more practical and...sensible.”
“yeah, like take them out on an actual date!” ashido exclaimed.
“but that’s so boring!”
“guys, why don’t we ask todoroki what he wants to do since he is the one involved,” yaoyorozu offered.
“okay, yeah. you have been pretty quiet. what do you think, todoroki?” kaminari questioned.
todoroki blinked a few times, thinking lightly on his options. “i’m not sure. i agreed to let them help me but--”
“BUT,” kaminari interrupted, getting in his face again.
todoroki pushed him out of the way before continuing. “yaoyorozu and the others do have a point.”
“yay! now you can let the girls help you out!” ashido declared.
“oh, yeah! we could set you and y/n up on a cute date,” uraraka chimed while the other girls nodded in agreement.
“okay.”
“what?! you’re just going to let them take over? ugh, fine. i guess it’ll be better this way. but don’t blame me if their plan gets completely messed up,” kaminari huffed.
“yeah, but imagine if it does work, dude,” mineta spoke up. “it’d be so hot to watch them kiss and feel each other up.”
everyone ignored that comment and continued to help form a new plan for todoroki. while he appreciated the concern and help from his friends, the girls did ask a lot of questions.
“what do you like about them?”
“should we tell them that you like them?”
“have you thought about tonguing them down yet? c’mon man, we need details!”
todoroki had half a mind to freeze the perverted grape. nevertheless, thoughts and feelings had crossed his mind many times. he had more time to think it through and at this point, his feelings cut through him deep. he tried to express everything he could about the subject at hand.
“well, i feel different around them. different than i do around everyone here. even though they’re my friend just as much as any of you, my body feels...weird around them. there’s this pang in my chest when i see them and even when i know i’m going to see them, i feel these tingles throughout my body. sometimes i find myself not being able to speak around them and it’s harder when they’re looking right at me. i don’t know what it is, but their eyes just make me lose my words. my face gets warm whenever they smile or laugh or even when they talk, i feel different. despite that i feel like this, i never want them to be too far from me because i kinda enjoy the feeling they give me. i hope that all makes sense.”
everyone just stared at him with expressions of awe. there was no other way he knew how to say it.
“oh em gee,” ashido finally broke the silence. “you sound like you’re in love, todoroki!”
“yeah, this is more serious than we thought,” kaminari added with everyone nodding in agreement.
love?
“are you sure? i thought i just had a lot of admiration for them,” he replied.
“while a lot of admiration is one thing, having a physical reaction to their presence seems to be another,” yaoyorozu analyzed. “you seem to like them a great deal and that could be something comparable to love.”
he had never considered the possibility of being in love with someone. sure, he had felt love from other people in his life like his mother, his siblings, and his friends. however, those were different kinds of love; familial and platonic. those were types that he was comfortable with or grew to be more comfortable.
romantic love, though, was completely beyond him. there was a time when he barely had any friends, let alone romantic prospects. but now he has many friends and the fact that out of all his closest friends that you were the one he has immense feelings for, must mean it’s love.
-
after replacing the fake villain ploy with a date idea, todoroki thought he might feel a little more at ease. but that was not the case.
he had been trained his entire life to be the strongest, greatest hero of the new generation. although part of that had been an ulterior motive to spite his father, todoroki felt more natural in situations where he could put all that work into practice. he wanted to be a hero so that’s what he was meant to do.
he never imagined he’d be sitting alone at a small side street restaurant waiting for you. the plan involved you meeting up with him for lunch after you finished getting a few extra work study hours at the agency. the girls urged him to ask you out and with a little more encouragement, it seemed to work out alright. although it was a little awkward, considering he decided to ask you right after you came from a shower.
“hey, y/n?”
“yes, todoroki?” you replied as you shifted your weight, standing in front of him in nothing but a towel, your hair damp and your shower kit held against your chest.
“uh,” he tried his hardest not to stare at the idle droplets of water still resting on your shoulders and chest. “do you like noodles?”
“well, i like pho. you know that,” you smirked in response.
“right. of course,” he shook his head, almost forgetting where he was going with this. “there’s this noodle bar place and it's kind of in a weird spot in town but they have really good soba and other types of noodles so...i was just wondering if you wanted to go or something? maybe tomorrow for lunch?”
“oh, um, yeah. i could do that. i have a small shift tomorrow at the agency. camie and i are doing some teamwork building type stuff but i can meet you there after that. is 4 too late? we should be done by then.”
even though he likes hearing your voice, he almost blacked out after you said, “yeah.” it wasn’t until he heard your voice again that he caught himself staring.
“todoroki?”
“oh, um, i’m sorry. what did you say?”
“it’s okay,” you let out a small laugh. “i asked you wanted to meet up at 4 after i’m done at the agency.”
“oh, of course. sounds perfect. i can text you the address.”
you nodded in response, turning slightly on your heels to leave. but he wanted a little more confirmation.
“so i’ll see you tomorrow?”
“yep! see you.”
he had been texting you ever since then but your messages had slowed down due to what he assumed was your start of your shift at the agency. he checked the group chat that kaminari had made called ‘setting up shoto’ which included everyone who became involved in this whole thing. kaminari said it was where he could tell them the ‘deets’ after you and him had met up. he didn’t really think he would need to tell them but even if he did, there was nothing to report. he did show up thirty minutes before your agreed meeting time, but he wanted to make sure you didn’t show up early somehow, therefore making him the late one. he felt like he’d rather be safe than sorry.
4pm came and went. soon fifteen, twenty, and now thirty minutes had gone by without a message from you or the others. he thought about texting you to ask if everything was alright, but knowing how strict the agency was with phone use, you probably wouldn’t answer right away. he figured everything was probably fine and that you were just running late. he couldn’t argue that there were several occasions in which you all had to stay a little later because things just happen sometimes.
although, he admitted that he wished that you would show up soon so the hard part would be over or he would stop feeling so ‘lovesick’ as ashido would say. suddenly, his phone vibrated loudly against the steel table, making him jump in his seat.
it was kaminari.
“hello?”
“DUDE!”
todoroki pulled the phone from his ear, wincing at his loud voice coming through the speaker.
“ow. that hurt my ear, you know.”
kaminari seemed to ignore him as he frantically continued. “todoroki, you gotta get downtown. there’s a freaking huge, scary villain here and y/n is--”
todoroki sighed. “denki, i thought we agreed that we weren’t doing that anymore. i’m sitting here waiting for them to eat with me but they seem to be running late.”
“that’s because they’re here fighting this thing!”
he heard loud background noise that was comparable to screaming.
“wait, are you serious?”
“yes, i’m serious! kirishima and i came out to make sure they were on their way to you but then we heard screaming-- wait, here i’ll show you. hang on.”
todoroki pulled the phone from his ear to watch the screen change from audio to video mode. kaminari’s face showed up for a second before flipping the camera to show the view of the street. they seemed to be hiding with several civilians behind a building as the camera creeped around the corner. todoroki watched and his eyes widened as he saw a huge, black, slimy-looking villain which was filling up the street and trapping people in its path. the quality wasn’t great but he could pick out what looked like you and camie trying to stop or distract it from causing any serious destruction. however, it seemed to only be provoking it more. todoroki stood up from his seat as he recognized where this was all happening.
“can you see him?”
“yeah. i--”
“you have to come help us, todoroki! i don’t have my support item and kirishima can’t land a good punch on him without getting stuck in this gross tar stuff. you have to hurry!”
“okay, i think i know where you are. just try to stall until i get there and get people to safety.”
he quickly hung up and focused on getting to the scene as soon as possible. he was still only a student, a hero-in-training. he’d probably get in serious trouble for taking matters into his own hands but he couldn’t sit back and watch his friends and you get hurt. he didn’t have his hero costume, support items, first-aid, nothing. he also didn’t have time to run back to campus to get his hero costume or any supplies. he’d have to make do with just his quirk alone.
he arrived at the scene from the alley where kaminari and kirishima were gathering civilians to safety into an entrance on one of the sides of the buildings. kaminari and kirishima exclaimed simultaneously at his presence.
“oh, thank god. you’re here!”
“alright, todoroki!”
todoroki tried to quickly assess the situation. “did you call the police or any pros?”
“we reported it and the police should be here soon,” explained kirishima. “there are also several pros but this thing is really putting up a fight. even fat gum couldn’t handle him!”
“looks like i’ll just have to freeze him--”
“wait, dude, no!” kaminari grabbed him. “that’s why this has been taking so long. he’s able to hold hostages easily!”
todoroki observed the scene in front of him. the sticky goo was everywhere and seemed to have no limit as to how far it could move. there were several civilians still trapped, along with you and camie at the center of it all.
“trust me, i thought about electrifying it all but that wouldn’t be fun for the people who are, you know, trapped.”
“we need to get everyone to safety before we do anything drastic!” kirishima reasoned.
todoroki kept quiet as he tried to think it through. there wasn’t going to be enough time to try to save everyone and stop it from taking anyone else.
“i think i have an idea but we’re going to have to be fast.”
maybe he couldn’t freeze all of it but his fire could be just as powerful as his ice. he started at the back, where the goo seemed to end and couldn’t move much further. he used his fire to put pressure back on it while freezing any parts that tried to attack him. kirishima and kaminari quickly collected the freed civilians and the pros that were there followed suit to help them out. camie was freed at the base of it with the rest of the hostages and helped to distract it from what todoroki was trying to accomplish.
“wow, shoto. it’s like you have a sense for danger. so cool!” she complimented brightly.
the thing was holding you up high, presumably to keep you from attacking, which made it more difficult to free you. todoroki decided it was time to freeze the rest of it so it could be stopped. he used ice that wouldn’t freeze you to death and stopped it so the ice wouldn’t completely cover you.
the goo stopped moving and seemed to be fully imobile. you were safe but todoroki still had to free you. he sliced through the ice with his left hand, detaching you from the whole. he had kirishima catch you, as you were still caught in ice and goo.
“i’m going to melt the ice away now,” he explained as he was back at your side again.
you nodded, too cold to speak, and he placed his left hand on top of the ice, melting it away quickly. unfortunately, the goo was still intact underneath and apparently could still move when detached from the source. it looked like it was expanding to cover your entire body, which made you begin to panic.
“todoroki! what’s happening?”
“i, i don’t know but just relax, okay? we’re gonna get you out of this.”
he looked around to see the top that was left exposed in the ice detached itself and moved over to where they were.
“todo-- mph”
“y/n!”
he looked down to see that the goo was slowly covering your face. he tried to pull it down but the sticky, thick substance was almost unmoveable. suddenly a deep, ominous voice appeared.
“release the rest of me or they die.”
todoroki gritted his teeth, an angry scowl on his face. “you have no room to make threats.”
“and you have no room to compromise. they’re going to suffocate if you don’t make a decision.”
he looked down to see that you stopped struggling, your eyes closing as the goo had almost covered your entire face.
“fine. take it and leave,” he replied, angrily throwing a fireball at the ice. steam flew into the air as the body was released.
“much obliged,” the villain snickered before snaking into one of the sewer drains.
the rest of the goo on you had moved up and off your limp body.
“y/n?”
-
you opened your eyes with a jolt, your brain fuzzy for a moment as you took in your surroundings. it looked like you were back at the dorm in your room. it was strange as you last remember seeing todoroki’s face.
“are you awake?”
you gasped at the sudden voice.
“todoroki!”
“sorry. i didn’t mean to scare you.”
you didn’t know what question you should ask first. “why-- where-- what happened?”
“well, you were unconscious so i brought you back here. i wanted to make sure you woke up so i waited,” he explained. “are you feeling alright?”
“um, yeah. i’m okay,” you replied as it was all coming back to you. it also explained why you were still in your hero costume.
“what time is it?”
“it’s late. almost 11. are you hungry?”
“yeah, a little-- wait, we were supposed to go to that place, right? you and i?”
he grinned at your sudden thought. “yes.”
“i’m sorry i missed it! i really wanted to go but didn’t think we’d have to take care of a villain.”
“it’s okay. it happens, right?”
“yeah, that’s true. do you want to order something and eat now? i know a place that delivers late and i’m pretty sure they have soba,” you offered.
he felt that pang in his heart when you grinned at him.
“yeah. i’d like that.”
he ordered the food and remained in your room as you went to wash up and change out of your costume. when the food arrived you simply ate and talked. he was grateful that you did most of the talking, as he was a bit sleepy and he was normally in bed by this time. nevertheless, he enjoys listening to what you have to say even if he’s a little out of it.
“by the way, how did you know about the villain?”
“what?” he asked incredulously.
“the villain, how did you know?”
“oh, um, well, i, um, kaminari told me.”
“oh, right. i remember him and kirishima being there too. what a coincidence, huh?”
“actually, it wasn’t,” he admitted, causing you to look confused.
“what do you mean?”
“they were there because, um, because…”
“because?”
“because i love you.”
your expression kept him talking. his heart was talking.
“i really admire you and kaminari and the others think that i’m in love. today was supposed to be part of a plan to get me to spend time with you. i don’t want you to blame yourself for what happened though because to be frank, i’m happy wherever you are. even sitting here while you were lying unconscious in bed. sorry if that’s weird. i practiced how i was going to tell you what i feel but it’s so complicated. now i am thinking that there’s only one way to say it. everyone was right. i’m in love.”
todoroki had felt free only once before now. when midoriya told him to claim his power as his own. claiming his love for you felt the exact same.
“i love you too.”
it was his turn to look shocked.
“y- you do?”
“yes. and i’m so glad you told me. i could never really gauge how you felt so i hid it for a long time and tried to enjoy just being as close as i already am with you.”
his head was a mess upon hearing this but in a good way. he didn’t think he’d come this far or have this result. he’d admit that it was a bit overwhelming.
“can i...can i hug you?” you asked, breaking the pregnant pause.
“oh, um,” he stuttered. he really, really wanted to hug you. he’s held you before but that was different. that was when you were unconscious. this time would involve awareness.  something about the thought of touching you in a rather sensual way made him even more rattled.
“it’s okay if it’s too much right now. you can let me know when you’re ready.”
“i would like that. to hold you, i mean,” he answered.
“okay,” you grinned before slowly moving over to him.
you wrapped your arms around his shoulders to pull him against you. no matter how prepared he thought he could be for this, he wasn’t at all. he gasped softly at the impact of your body against him, part of his face slightly smooshing into your neck. his arms slowly came to wrap around your waist, his fingertips barely touching your back. soon enough you felt his arms tighten around you and his face nuzzling deeper into your neck. he gripped the back of your shirt lightly and the noises emitting from him sounded like he was crying.
“are...you okay, todoroki?” you questioned, concerned that you were making him uncomfortable. you pulled back slightly, your eyes meeting with glossy, familiar ones.
“yeah, i,” he chuckled to himself, wiping the stray tears. “i think i love you more than i thought.”
“me too,” you agreed.
“can you say my name?”
“todoroki.”
“no, my first name.”
“shoto.”
“i like that,” he mused, his eyes bright and cheeks red. his hands trailed up your back, pressing you back into him.
“and i love you.”
“i love you too, sho.”
he planned on never letting you go.
-
bonus:
“what a beautiful sight,” kaminari observed, watching the young couple hold hands as they walked in the distance.
“yeah, they’re so cute,” agreed kirishima.“i can’t believe it’s already been almost a month since they started dating.”
“yeah,” kaminari concurred, wiping a fake tear from his eye. “our little shoto todoroki is growing up so fast! i’m still gonna credit myself for that, even though he hasn’t thanked us yet.”
“well, y/n did almost die, dude. i don’t think he’d be too happy to hear that we were behind it,” kirishima point out.
“maybe so...but like i said, he had it all under control!”
“i still can’t believe you went through with that, just to get to talk to camie.”
“that was not the only reason! i did it for todoroki and had complete faith in him. it only proved how much more he loves them, really,” kaminari justified.
“yeah, i guess i can’t argue with that.”
“and besides, i guess karma has come. camie already left me on read.”
“aw, that sucks dude.”
“but thanks for helping me set everything up with rappa. how did you repay him for getting the asphalt guy?”
“oh, i put in a good word for him at the reform program at fat gum’s agency and he seems to really like it.”
“that’s so cool! you know, i always believed that most villains could turn around. it’s like-- oh my god, dude! camie just texted me!”
“well, what a coincidence. maybe now you should be the one thanking todoroki and y/n.”
“yeah, yeah, yeah. whatever.”

And like 1-a is doing something as a class let's say movie night and Bakugou and the reader cuddle or do something maybe kiss in like the kitchen idk something funny but fluffy and the class starts freaking out and Todo's like wait yall didnt know lol. Its a lot Im sorry love you
AHH HI HI!! omg im so glad you like Hot Heads🥺it really means a lot!
i LOVE this request! i hope i got it right and that you like it!
love you💕
“You Knew?!”
pairing: Katsuki Bakugou x fem! reader
warnings: swearing
genre: fluff :)
“Movie night?” You read aloud. You stared at the school’s announcement board, seeing that the 3rd years’ annual movie night was tonight.
“I think we’re watching a Disney movie or some shit,” said Bakugou as he wrapped his arms around your waist. You slapped the blond boys hands.
“Stop that Katsuki! Someone could see,” you whispered. Bakugou groaned.
“Wow I’m not allowed to show my girlfriend love and affection? I’ll remember that the next time you ask me to cuddle,” he pouted.
You and Bakugou decided that it would be best to keep your relationship a secret from your classmates. It’s not that you didn’t trust them, it’s only that you knew how they would react.
“You can show me love and affection when we are alone silly,” you smiled.
“I’m still sitting next to you during the movie though. No way I’m letting Deku or anyone else besides me sit with you.”
“Are you guys going?” asked Todoroki as he approached the two of you. Bakugou immediately removed his hands from you.
“Shit IcyHot-”
“Uh yeah we are,” you smacked Bakugou’s arm, “are you?” Todoroki nodded.
“Yeah I think so. I see you two later then.” You watched as Shoto walked to his room. You and Bakugou let out a sigh of relief.
“This is exactly why I told you to keep the PDA to a minimum.”
~
As night time rolled around, you and your classmates began to gather into the common area. You teachers had set up a projector for the movie and extra couches or bean bags for you all. You grabbed a fuzzy blanket from your room before heading over.
“Y/N!” Mina waved you over to join her and the rest of the girls in your class on the bean bags. You looked at Bakugou who was sitting on the couch, clearly waiting for you.
“I think I’m gonna sit on the couch, my back hurts,” you explained. You went over to Bakugou.
“Is this seat taken?”
“You tell me dumbass,” he smirked. You smiled a took a seat next to him.
“Bakubro!” Kirishima and the rest of Bakugou’s friends surrounded you two on the couch. Denki crammed himself in between you and Bakugou before Sero and Kiri joined.
“Nice of you guys to save us a seat!” laughed Sero. You looked past the three boys that now separated you and Bakugou. He seemed visibly annoyed.
“Oo share the blanket Y/N,” said Denki. You sighed and laid the fuzzy blanket over now the five of you.
“Okay quiet, the movie is gonna start!” You watched as the lights dimmed around you all. You looked once more at Bakugou. His arms were crossed and he had a silly pout on his face. You had an idea.
“I’m gonna go to the kitchen and grab some waters for us. Can one of you help me?” You whispered.
“I can-”
“Nope I’ll go.” Bakugou sprung up from the couch and took your hand leading you to the kitchen. Thank goodness for the room being dark.
You walked down to the kitchen, not suspiciously of course. The kitchen was empty, just as you had hoped. You walked over the the counter and hopped on it. Bakugou looked at you excitedly. He stood in between your legs. You ran your fingers through his hair.
“I think we should just stay down here for the rest of the night,” you suggested. Bakugou raised a brow.
“Sounds good to me.” Bakugou cupped your cheeks and pulled you to kiss him. You wrapped your arms around his neck, still playing with his hair. If you had to rate the top ten best feelings in the world, kissing Bakugou would take first place every time. The two of you hadn’t even been dating for that long but he seemed to know every way to make your heart melt. His gentle hands caressing your face, his soft lips against yours, there was nothing better.
“Uh...Kacchan?” At the sound of those words, Bakugou ripped his lips away from yours. The two of you looked over at the door way, seeing your classmates with stunned faces.
“Look guys we can-”
“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU EXTRAS DOING DOWN HERE?” interrupted Bakugou.
“We-uh- we were gonna get snacks for the movie,” said Deku, his eyes still wide.
“Wait are you two dating?” asked Kirishima. You and Bakugou looked at each other.
“You didn’t know?” chimed in Todoroki. Now your eyes were wide.
“YOU KNEW?” exclaimed you and your classmates. Todoroki shrugged.
“I thought it was obvious. They’re always together, always talking, and my room is right next to Bakugou’s so I hear-”
“Okay! That’s enough Shoto,” you said nervously.
“WHAT THE HELL ICYHOT!”
“I didn’t realize it was some big secret. Sorry,” he mumbled. You sighed.
“It’s fine Todoroki. I mean I guess it’s not a secret now,” you chuckled. You hopped down from the counter and pulled Bakugou over to your classmates.
“Yeah we’re dating but it’s not a big deal, okay?” You said. Your friends looked at each other before enveloping you into a giant hug.
“AWW Y/N AND BAKUGOU THATS SO CUTE!”
“Wow Kacchan I honestly never thought this day would come!”
“LUCKY GUY BAKUGOU!”
Your friends continued to ‘congratulate’ you and Bakugou. You knew that’s how they would react.
“Okay get your damn snacks and get out you damn extras!” groaned Bakugou. You laughed and watched as your friends now scattered around the kitchen.
“You guys probably should’ve done a better job if you intended to keep your relationship a secret,” said Todoroki. You sighed.
“We really can’t get anything past you Todoroki,” you smiled. Bakugou once again wrapped his arms around your waist, kissing the top of your head.
“At least this means I can do this as much as I want,” he whispered in your ear. You smiled, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
Now that everyone had their snacks, you and the rest of your classmates walked back upstairs to watch the movie.
“Did really no one else notice?”
“QUIET ICYHOT!”

Something Like Home
I wrote a fic that’s basically just Izuku and Katsuki cuddling away the nightmares because they deserve to be soft
Rating: T
AO3
Izuku leaves his door unlocked. It’s a habit from when he lived with his mom, the apartment being so high up that it’s arbitrary for anyone to want to break in. So silly of an intruder to come and lug their valuables down the flights leading up to Izuku’s childhood home. Thus, Izuku’s door has remained unlocked since he moved into the dorms.
Which is why, when he hears his bedroom door open in the dead of night, he doesn’t think it’s someone breaking but rather his mom coming to check on him. That thought is quickly dismissed, however, as he reminds himself that he isn’t back home. Still, there isn’t any panic until he feels the mattress dip. An arm wraps itself around him, and, before Izuku can turn around, he hears a familiar gruff voice.
“Don’t move,” Kacchan whispers then tightens his grip. His hands are shaking. “Don’t ask.”
Izuku doesn’t, and they lay like that until the winter sun’s rays peek out from behind the trees. He isn’t used to sleeping so late, not anymore, but Kacchan’s warmth is so comforting that he can’t help and snuggle in closer. His breath on his neck, the weight over his stomach, bare feet entangled with his socked ones… Izuku doesn’t want the moment to end.
They don’t speak of what happened. Kacchan comes back a week later. Izuku lets him.
Sometimes, Izuku wouldn’t be awake when Kacchan comes, and he’d find him in the bed in the mornings. Sometimes, Izuku would be awake finishing his homework and Kacchan would fall asleep before him. Sometimes, in the loneliest times, Kacchan wouldn’t come at all. Izuku won’t realize until those nights how much he relied on Kacchan’s warmth.
It is so very cold on those nights.
Izuku has nightmares. Bone-chilling, heart-wrenching nightmares that crawl from the deepest crevices of his mind and crushes his throat. He’d wake with a start, bolting upright as his face grew wetter and wetter. They happen less and less since Kacchan started sleeping with him, so Izuku started to forget they ever existed.
He grasps at his throat, determined to see if there was still flesh. His lungs are filled with blood as bile climbs up. He swallows it all down, down, down until he could feel his beating heart.
not dead not dead not dead dead dead
There’s a hand on his shoulder, and Izuku flinches so hard that he’s sure he pulled muscle. Covering his ears, he bends forward until he’s nearly touching his knees. Breathe, he tells himself. Breathe, damn it!
“Deku.” The hand is back, but it’s softer this time. He does not relax. “Hey, Deku.”
Izuku turns his head. He meets dark red eyes and bright gray moonlight. Back slumping, he sobs and leans into Kacchan’s hold.
alive alive alive i’m alive he’s alive
They don’t talk about the nightmare. They don’t talk about anymore that followed.
The next time Kacchan comes over, Izuku is watching a movie on his laptop. Kacchan collapses next to him, pushing him closer to the wall and glaring at the screen. He’s sweating, Izuku realizes, but he can’t tell from what. Probably a late-night workout, he reasoned.
“It’s almost over,” Kacchan grumbles. “Best part of the whole thing.”
Izuku hums his response. He hasn’t seen it (he hasn’t seen a lot of movies), so he takes Kacchan’s word for it.
It takes him a minute to realize that Kacchan’s arm is around his shoulders, and it takes him another minute after that to register the gentle strokes of his fingertips on his skin. Izuku rather likes the feeling, he decides. It’s soft and comforting and reminds Izuku that he is here and breathing and pressed up against Kacchan’s firm--
Okay, let’s not go there!
The absolute last thing he needs is to think about Kacchan’s sculpted abs or strong arms or his ridiculously handsome jawline.
He ends up thinking about it and (unfortunately? He doesn’t necessarily think it’s unfortunate yet somehow does at the same time) misses the end of the movie. Still, seeing Kacchan smile that small private smile and explain just how strong the main character is makes up for it.
“Let me pick now. Your taste in movies is boring.”
“Hey!”
Kacchan doesn’t remove his arm as he scrolls through the catalog. Frowning, Izuku crosses his arms and watches. He’s dubious of what Kacchan would pick (horror, psychological thriller, something so obscure and foreign that he would probably quickly lose interest as the other would get more and more enthralled) that when the movie title appeared on screen, he laughs.
The blond boy turns and scowls. “Shut up, this movie is great.”
“Bet you’ve read the book too.” Izuku teases. When Kacchan’s scowl deepens, another laugh escapes him. “Now that’s a surprise!”
With pink ears, Kacchan turns on the movie and promptly ends the conversation. Izuku sits with his mirth as the female lead prances through a field, her “one true love” rushing towards her before the fantasy quickly falls apart. He has to admit that it is cute, but his scatterbrain can only focus on someone else.
He doesn’t think anything of it when Todoroki comes into the room halfway through, a book in his hand. It’s presented to him before Todoroki places it on his desk. “I enjoyed it, Midoriya,” he says. “Thank you for letting me read it.”
“No problem, man!”
Todoroki nods then turn around. The door closes softly behind him, and Izuku turns his attention back to the movie. The protagonist is monologuing about--
The door opens at the same time Kacchan and Izuku spring away from each other. All three boys stare, wide-eyed, as they process what just happened. It isn’t a bad thing that Izuku and Kacchan sometimes cuddle (read: almost every night), but it most definitely isn’t something they speak about. Todoroki points between the two boys before asking, “So are you two like… friends now? Or something?”
He has never felt more relieved for Todoroki’s naivete. Kacchan relaxes next to him, too.
“Fuck off , Icyhot bastard! I’m in the middle of something!”
“Midoriya,” Todoroki fixes his gaze onto Izuku. It is so unnerving to not be able to tell what he’s thinking. “I’m glad you and Bakugou are finally best friends again.”
“Todoroki, no.”
“Leave, Icyhot!”
Todoroki wastes no time in leaving but not before giving the two boys a thumbs up. Izuku can’t suppress his groan, and Kacchan grumbles something about him being too damn nosy. It doesn’t take long for them to settle back in, but, by now, Izuku is only thinking about the absurdity of the two of them.
“Hey, Kacchan?” he whispers as the main characters ‘break up’. Kacchan only grunts in response. “Why do you keep coming in here?”
Kacchan says nothing, choosing instead to place his arm on the pillow behind Izuku. Something in the back of his mind wants Kacchan to hold him like before. Except, that moment is gone now.
His eyes drift close before both the movie ends and Kacchan responds. He’s only vaguely aware of Kacchan pulling him close again, his warmth completely enveloping him. Izuku dreams of Kacchan’s lips pressed gently against his forehead, he dreams of Kacchan fingers carding through his hair, and he dreams of Kacchan whispering to him, “Damn nerd.”
Katsuki keeps his door unlocked. It is not a habit he previously had but rather developed since moving in. Locking his door means a faster escape. It does not mean random intruders bursting through while he’s trying to sleep. Angry that the light dared to reach him during these precious hours, Katsuki sits up in bed. He watches as the intruder closes the door and shuffles towards his bed. He’s about ready to spring up when the intruder sniffles.
In the dark, Katsuki can just barely make out the outline of Deku. The tension in his shoulder eases away as Deku quietly lays down. He doesn’t face him, nor does he say a word, so Katsuki doesn’t either. He’s finally laying down and relaxed again when he hears the faint whisper.
“Can you hold me?”
Deku’s pulling Katsuki’s blanket up higher as he curls further into himself. There’s only silence and his heartbeat in the room as he struggles to figure out what to say. It’s only ever been the blond to ask (or lack of asking, rather); the fact that Deku so shamelessly crawled into bed with him still has him reeling. Still, he doesn’t hesitate much further when Deku whispers, “Please?”
It hits him then, as he’s pulling the smaller boy closer, that he’s shaking. Honest to God shaking. When was the last time Deku’s come to him--let alone anybody --for help? Something blooms in Katsuki’s chest, but he quickly stomps it down before setting it on fire. That’s for another day.
“I had a nightmare,” Deku whispers. He doesn’t turn to face him, but he does grip Katsuki’s hand. Tight. Strong. Shaking. “I… I didn’t want to be alone.”
He’s sobbing again. Okay, not the first time the nerd has sobbed in his presence, but still. It’s… weird? Katsuki has never been good at crying people, usually opting to yell at them to shut up and hope that they figure out their own inner turmoil without him. Except, this is definitely not one of those times. This is a “shut up, be quiet, and let the fucking nerd say his peace” time.
When Deku does turn around, his face is quickly buried in his chest, and Katsuki freezes.
Deku’s quiet sobs fill the room as Katsuki strokes his back. He tightens his grip on the boy and, ever so slightly, presses his lips to Deku’s forehead. His mother used to do that whenever he had a nightmare, and it always helped him to come back. Katsuki hopes it does the same for Deku.
“I dreamt--” he starts but is interrupted by a sob. “I dreamt that you… you died. That everyone died. And I was just left there, on my own, waiting for someone to come.”
Katsuki doesn’t need to ask to know what he’s talking about; the fingers on his chest are proof enough. Still, it doesn’t do much to ease the ache in his heart. Gently, slowly, he lays his hand over Deku’s and squeezes. “I’m right here, you dumbass.”
Deku sniffs. “I-I know that, but…”
He pulls Deku’s head to rest right under the crook of his chin, not giving the nerd to finish the sentence. “Go to sleep, Deku,” he whispers. “We can think about it in the morning.”
The nightmares are getting more and more frequent, and they’ve increased ten-fold since the war. Katsuki isn’t exactly sure if it’s his place to say something about it, but he also knows that the idiot won’t go see someone on his own. Besides, is it so hard for Katsuki to get one good night’s rest? Just one? Please?
Deku’s breaths even out, fanning across his skin. Katsuki sighs. Lately, there’s been some kind of weird feeling that arises every time he sees the nerd. He doesn’t know what it is, or, if he does, he doesn’t want to name it. Instead, he chooses this. He chooses physical touches. He chooses the quiet moments. He chooses to hold Deku in his arms as he cries himself to sleep. Yeah, that seems right.
They’re still tangled up together when they wake up in the morning, and Katsuki admits that he rather likes seeing the light bounce of Deku’s curls. It’s calm and comforting and something like home. He settles back in Deku’s arms, where it feels right, and grumbles, “Damn nerd.”

congrats on 800!! Can I request a jealous bakugo?? where he really likes the reader but they’re always with todoroki
UHHH FUCK YEAH I LOVE BOTH BAKUGOU AND TODOROKI LET’S DO THIS
warnings: cursing, unedited, shouto is your best friend, bakugou is a jealous dumbass. I had so so so much fun writing this i SWEAR
Tumblr media
Todoroki was your first friend at UA
even while he was still very reserved and quiet, you made it a mission to befriend him. He didn’t talk a lot, but he seemed sweet, and you simply decided you wanted to know him better
so you did. At first, Todoroki didn’t understand why you were so set on being friends with him, but little by little you carved your place into his life and heart
you become best friends and he appreciates you so much! you’re always together and he invites you over when his dad isn’t around and his siblings absolutely love you
at one point they ask you if there’s something else in your friendship but you’re both quick to shut it down
“So… What’s going on between you two? Are you dating or something?”
“What? No!” “Of course not, sister. We’re just friends.”
“Oh, alright.”
you’re really close though and spend a lot of time in each other’s company because you simply like to
and then there’s Bakugou
you tried to talk to him and maybe make friends during your first weeks at UA but he shut you out so fucking fast
you were kinda hurt to be honest
but you quickly understood that he was like that to everyone, so it wasn’t personal, which made you feel a bit better
until the Sports Festival, that is
Bakugou can’t help but notice how well you fight and how hard you work
you’re on Todoroki’s team for the Cavalry Battle
and you’re so absolutely necessary for the team’s victory that he can’t help but start paying a little more attention to you
he always thought you were an annoying, stupid extra
but you’re proving him wrong, and he’s here for it. It’s nice to know there’s actual competent people besides him at UA
during the Battle Tournament you obliterate all your opponents you’re unstoppable
Bakugou is so fucking impressed he doesn’t even notice how Todoroki, the emotionless boy, is constantly cheering you on from the crowd
everyone is completely shocked because yes, they knew you were friends with Shouto, but they weren’t aware you guys were close enough for him to force his stoic expression from his face for once and actually smile and cheer and give out positive reinforcement
like what
you end up on the semi-finals with Bakugou
and you really give him a run for his money
he had noted that you were a lot stronger and smarter than you looked, and actually fighting you proved that even further
you only lost for a slip up, to be honest. For the first time in weeks, maybe months, you were paying attention to Bakugou Katsuki. and, God, you hadn’t noticed how good-looking he was
Shouto was the most beautiful boy you had ever seen in your entire life, that was for sure, but there was this moment during your battle when Bakugou smiled and your brain short-circuited
so he blew you off the ring, obviously
he was surprised he was actually able to get you. He thought you would somehow escape it, and he wondered what had taken your focus away
he wasn’t even aware of the small smile that graced his lips for that millisecond. He just stared at you, looking all powerful and strong and ready to destroy him without hesitation and it just happened
none of you talked about it
when he battled Todoroki, he heard you scream “Go, Shouto!”
and it made his blood boil
why the fuck were you cheering for fucking Half-and-Half?
Were you dating or some shit?
you certainly should be cheering for him, since he was the one who defeated you which meant you had to recognize his superiority
right?
but no. there you were yelling, “You can do this, Shouto! You can do this!”
you even called the bastard by his first name
ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous
when you saw him tied and muzzled to the first place you were completely livid
you tried to argue and stop it but no one listened to you
when they finally let Bakugou go, you came to him, eyes glowing with worry and anger.
“Are you okay? They shouldn’t have done that. How do you feel?”
“Get out of my way, extra. Don’t fucking worry about me.”
Todoroki’s ear perked up at hearing someone mistreat his best friend
but he knew you could handle it, so he stood close by, watching
on any other occasion, you would’ve felt hurt, sad even, but you could see the shame in Bakugou’s eyes. The embarrassment.
“Alright. See you, Bakugou. Hope you get home alright.”
and you left, walking towards Shouto with a soft smile before going away with him
Bakugou would never admit it, but he appreciated your words more than anyone else’s.
once more, that smile took a place on his face without him even noticing
after that, Bakugou became a lot nicer around you
he would quietly mutter a “hello” when you passed by his seat during the morning
and at one point he even let you borrow his notes to copy during this one day you got the flu
sometimes you would see him studying at the library and you would smile widely and sit next to him on the table he was occupying
if it was anyone else he would definitely yell at them to leave
but he didn’t really mind your company. Having you around was strangely nice. Not that he would ever say that out loud, of course, but yeah. It really was.
you were a part of the stupid rescue team that went after him when he was kidnapped
he was only made aware of that way later, since you stayed behind with Shouto and Momo
and it kinda made him mad because wasn’t fucking IcyHot your boyfriend or some shit? How could he let you get into dangerous stunts like this? Was he an idiot?
when you moved into the dorms, Bakugou noticed how you were always around Todoroki
he noticed how you were always in each other’s rooms and how you had lunch together and how stupid bitch ass Half-and-Half knew how you liked your coffee and always had it ready for you in the mornings
it made him see red, for some reason. He hated seeing you with Shouto.
he wondered why didn’t you want to be around him like that. Did you think he was ugly? Rude? Did he smell bad?
Not that it mattered, of course. He didn’t give a shit about some dumb extra like you
except he really did
couldn’t you be away from Todoroki for a single second? Did you really have to stay around him all the time? That’s some fucking bullshit right there
you shouldn’t waste your time with stupid IcyHot, you deserved better than that! You were powerful and smart and nice and gorgeous and Todoroki was an idiot
right? Right! You would have a lot more fun being around other people that weren’t Shouto!
so he suggested it, albeit quietly, to his friends. They were having lunch and Shitty Hair was spewing useless information like he always fucking did, and he muttered it. Bakugou didn’t talk a lot during lunch, so his words had heads turning to him almost immediately
“We should invite Y/N to have lunch with us someday.”
Dunce Face opened the biggest fucking smile and he regretted all the decisions he had ever made in his entire life
“Why, Bakubro? Do you have a crush or something?”
“Shut the fuck up, you fucking bastard!”
Shitty Hair giggled, “Calm down, bro, it’s fine. Yeah, I think that would be nice. Y/N seems like a really fun person, don’t you think?”
he shot you a quick glance. You were sitting with your friends (including damn Deku and stupid IcyHot), and you were laughing. You looked so beautiful when you laughed and he didn’t even notice the slight movement of his lips
“Wait, is Bakugou smiling?”
“I TOLD YOU TO SHUT THE FUCK UP BEFORE I—”
the next day you found yourself sitting between Bakugou and Todoroki on the Bakusquad table
Bakugou didn’t think inviting you meant inviting fucking Half-and-Half but that was a given, apparently
however
he figured he didn’t mind Todoroki that much if you kept brushing your shoulder into his when you moved, or if you kept laughing next to him
He invited you over his room to study one day because you had mentioned you were struggling with math during lunch
and then suddenly you were always hanging out. Study dates, movie nights, sparring matches, and he even cooked you dinner once or twice when everyone else went out to eat and you both stayed behind to work on some homework
honestly everything was going amazing and you were spending time together and Bakugou would never admit it but he was growing to really fucking love having alone time with you
and, God, how could you get more beautiful every time he saw you?
then
“I won’t be able to hang out this weekend, I’m going out with Shouto.”
He froze on the spot.
“What?”
“Yeah! We haven’t gone out in quite some time, so he invited me out to a date.”
“A… A date?”
“That’s right. We are just going to visit his mom, get some dinner, and then sleep over at his house, I think. It’ll be nice, I’ve missed him a lot lately.”
Bakugou felt his blood fucking boil
“Why would you even want to go on a date with stupid Half-and-Half? He’s an idiot.”
“What? Why are you saying that?”
“I’m sure you would be a lot happier going on a date with me. I’m a lot better than that dumbass, you hear me? I’d buy you those stupid sweet things you like.”
You were struggling to keep yourself from smiling at this point
“You mean chocolate?”
“Yeah, that bullshit. And I’d pay for dinner. We’d get whatever you want, and I wouldn’t take you to visit my fucking mom. That’s so lame and stupid, just like damn IcyHot. And we’d have a movie night, like the ones we always do. I’d even let you choose one of your dumb movies.”
“You’d let me choose the movie? You never do that!”
“Tch, whatever. Go out with your fucking boyfriend, I don’t fucking care. It’s your loss!”
You giggled and it sent him in a frenzy
“What the fuck are you laughing at, dumbass? I’ll kill you!”
You grinned and his heart jumped wildly inside his chest.
“Are you jealous, Katsuki?”
that’s his first fucking name. you called him by his first fucking name
he blushed SO hard
“No! Of course I’m not! Don’t say stupid shit like that!”
You giggled again
“You know, when I said I was going out for a date with Shouto, I meant a friendly date. We’re nothing but friends. Besides, I like someone else.”
“Tch.”
He was still blushing.
“Katsuki?”
He snarled, “What?”
“You’re the one I like, stupid.”
“Don’t you fucking dare call me stupid, you—wait, you like me?”
“Yes, very much.”
he somehow blushed even harder. With red cheeks and crossed arms, he stared at everywhere but you
“Well, then fucking tell Half-and-Half to fuck off. I’m the one who’s taking you on a date.”
you laughed and, God, the sound of your laugh and your voice and your giggles were things he absolutely adored
“Sure, Katsuki. I’ll let him know.”
once more, an accidental smile overtook his lips.

The Girl that fell From the Sky
Shoto Todoroki x Reader
Summary: You fell from the sky. Literally
Warnings::: Profanity, abusive mother, throwing of glass bottles, cigar burns
Tumblr media
You closed the door to your moms beat down apartment. The scent of booze and smoke thick in the air. You quietly made your way to your room hoping that your mother was not in the living room. But to your dismay, there she was, hunched over with a cigarette in her hand.
“Y/n” She spoke. “Look at what you’ve done to me”
You rolled your eyes and tried to escape before she could continue. But with a grip to your arm, you were stopped.
“Let me go” you struggled.
“You’re the reason your father left me. 16 years later and your still here instead of him. I should’ve aborted you” The middle-aged woman spat.
“He left because your batshit crazy”you cried as you tried to loosen her grip on your arm.
She inhaled her cigarette and presses it against your arm. You hiss in response to the burn. You finally tug your arm away and quickly walked to your room. Ignoring the insults your mother spewed.
“Same shit” you huffed closing your room door “different day”.
You inhaled the aroma of vanilla that heavily scented your room. Your plugin air freshener doing the job it was intended to do. Which is to keep the smell of your mother out.
You made your way to your bed, which is covered in unfinished manga books. You absentmindedly picked up the closest one to you and start reading. You smiled at the illustration of All Might and Midoriya. Your smile dropped into a confused frown as the illustration started glowing a bright light.
You run your fingers against the glow, only to make the light shine brighter.
“What the hell?” You cursed. You watched as the light spread throughout the pieces of paper. Your sight blurred as the light shun brighter. And then everything went black.
You woke up to a bright light shining in your eyes. You rapidly blinked and held your hand up to shield yourself from its rays.
“Good” a voice spoke. “You’re awake”
You sat up on the bed you were in and rubbed at your eyes.
Where were you? And what happened to the book?
“Can I please have your first and last name” the voice spoke again.
You turned to see where the voice was coming from. You were met with an old lady. Not just a normal old lady. THE Recovery Girl. You opened and closed your mouth like a fish out of water. You were speechless!
How could this be? Were you transported into their world? Are you dreaming?
“Um miss? Your name?” Recovery Girl asked again.
“Oh shit” you mumbled. “My apologies. I’m Y/N L/N”
The woman nodded her head and typed away on her computer. “Well Ms. L/N. There’s no record of you existing anywhere Japan.”
“Well you see” you started. “I’m not even sure how I got to Japan ma’am.”
“She came from a reality rip. Of course she’s not in the system” another voice spoke.
You turned to see Principal Nezu on an irritated looking Aizawa Sensei’s shoulders. Your eyes widened at the two and you were speechless for the second time today.
Wait. Did he just say reality rip?
“We must keep her here in case she manifested a quirk on her trip down.” The principal spoke again. He then turned to you and smiled. “I’m Principal Nezu. And this is Shouta Aizawa. He will be your sensei”
“I-I’m Y-Y-Y/N L/N” you struggled to get out. “I’m sorry did you say reality rip?”
“Yes. A rip was seen in the sky yesterday” the middle aged hero spoke “Then we saw you fall from it. It’s a good thing that Todoroki saw you and acted fast. Otherwise..”
“I’d be dead” you finished. “Well it’s an Honor to finally meet you Aizawa Sensei”
“What do you mean ‘Finally’?”
———
“Class this is L/N Y/N. She will be staying with us for while as her quirk manifests.” Aizawa introduced. You stood at his side as you looked around the common area.
“Sensei, is this the girl that fell out of the sky” Yaoyorozu asked, raising her hand slightly.
The class looked at Todoroki as the man nodded his head.
“Dude. You saved her life” Denki exclaimed.
“That’s so manly Kirishima whispered.
“Oi stop fangirling over icy hot” Bakugo yelled at his best friend.
“Silence” the teacher yelled while activating his quirk. “I think L/N has something to say”
It was your turn to be stared at by the famous class 1-A. You nervously smiled at the hero. “Well um... first, you can call me Y/N. Second, Thank you Todoroki-kun for saving me.”
The boy nodded in your direction as if telling you “you’re welcome”.
“Also” you started again. “I think I should tell you why I was falling out of the sky to begin with. I’m sure some of you were wondering.”
The class all mumbled in response. You looked at Aizawa Sensei, who only nodded his head for you to continue.
“I came from a reality rip. Meaning, I’m not from this time”
“So you’re a time traveler” Denki asked.
“No Kaminari. Not quiet. Where I’m from, there’s no quirks. They’re fictional” You stated. “Just like you all”
The class was both shocked and confused. They were flabbergasted. What did you mean they were fictional?
“Hey dumbass what do you mean that we’re fictional?” Bakugo screamed.
“Well dumbass” you mocked the blonde. “I mean that you are all characters in a manga I read. Well a manga I read before being teleported into it.”
“Wow. That’s so cool. And kind of disturbing” Midoriya stuttered.
“Since we’re ‘characters’ in your world” Shoji spoke “does that mean you know our backgrounds, favorite food, and all of that stuff?”
Your face flushed at the question. If you told them yes then you’d look like a stalker.
“Well um... kinda?” You winced. You groaned and squeezed your cheeks together out of habit. Your anxiety was reaching its peak and you felt like you were going to burst into tears at any moment.
“The book goes into detail about a lot of things I’m sure you guys don’t want anyone to know” you glanced at Midoriya and Bakugo. Both had a shocked expression on their face.
They know you knew about OFA.
“Fuck” you mumbled “ I’m sorry that makes me sound like a weirdo. I have no ill intentions to use the information I know against you guys in a negative way. I only know ABOUT you. I don’t necessarily KNOW you.”
The students faces were unreadable. Besides Midoriya who was shaking like a salt shaker in his spot on the couch.
“Well since your quirk is bound to manifest at some point.” Todoroki spoke for the first time today. “I can help you adjust to the new environment”
“Yea me too” Uraraka joined in with a smile.
“As will I” Iida chopped through the air.
One by one, the class vowed to help you adjust to your new life and you couldn’t be more happier. You looked up at Aizawa with teary eyes.
He put his hand on your head and said “you’ll fit in kid”
——————————————
After sleeping in a bed that wasn’t decades old, you woke up to the sound of knocking on your room door. You straighten the pajamas yaoyomomo lent you and your hair before opening the door.
“Goodmorning Aizawa Sensei. Is something wrong?” You asked sleepily.
“No. Here are your uniforms, bath necessities, and some extra clothes. Class begins in 30” He responded. He handed you your items and rolled away in his sleeping bag.
“Never gonna get tired of seeing that” you laughed to yourself. You made your way to the women’s shower to prepare your self for the day. The center of your forehead throbbed but you chose to ignore it.
“Goodmorning y/n-Chan” Mina squealed “you look so cute in your pajamas”
“Thank you Mina” you smiled.
You did your morning routine witch consisted of showering, brushing your teeth, and talking to the girls.
You smoothed the skirt to your uniform as you walked behind the group of girls...struggled with tying your tie. You’ve never worn one before so of course you didn’t know how to tie it! In the midst of throwing a tantrum, you bump into something hard. Before you could fall backwards, you felt arms wrap around your back stopping you from hitting the ground.
“I’m so sorry. I was trying to tie this damn tie. Are you alright?” You rambled. You look up at the stranger and was met with a dual colored stare.
“I can help you with that if you’d like” he suggested.
“Yes please” you sighed.
You watched as his large fingers worked at the tie. He held a focused expression as he finished tying the piece of fabric.
“Too tight?”
“No. Thank you Todoroki.” You smiled as the two of walked into home room together.
You spot your assigned desk, which was covered in cards and balloons, and made your way to it. You sat in between Midoriya and Mineta, who was unsurprisingly checking you out. You turned to face him with a faux smile. “You know it’s really ugly being a pervert. Everyone in my reality hates you”
The grape boy’s face fell. His eyes followed the buttons on your jacket and fell on your breast. You flicked the perverted boy’s forehead out of disgust. You faced foreword in your desk and listened to whatever Aizawa had to say.
“Today you’ll be sparring against eachother. Quirks are allowed. Y/N will be monitoring you and adding necessary comments” The hero instructed. “Go get changed and meet in gym gamma. You too Y/N”
——————
You stood in the middle of the gym with a clipboard in your hands. It was the latch match of class and it was the most anticipated one of the day.
Todoroki V. Bakugo.
“DIE HALF AND HALF” The blonde screamed.
You watched in horror as Todoroki’s right side slowly covered in frost.
“DAMN ICYHOT. USE YOUR LEFT SIDE DAMNIT”
“Bakugo” the poor boy huffed a puff of cold air from his lungs.
“I’m gonna call it” you told the middle aged man beside you.
“No. Let them fight”
“But his right side-”
“Just watch”
Todoroki trapped Bakugo in another sheet of ice, which the blonde blasted out of. Without hesitation, the young Todoroki set his left fist aflame and punched the angry teenager.
“Oh damn” you gasped.
“Todoroki wins. Now Y/n” Aizawa called looking down on you. “Spar with Todoroki”
Your eyes almost fell out of their sockets. He wants you to do what? You don’t even have a quirk! The teacher pried the clipboard out of your hand and nudged you towards the mat.
“No quirks obviously”
“nO qUiRkS oBvIouSlY” you mimicked as you walk towards the center of the mat. Todoroki looked at you with a shit eating smirk, which faded into a focused stare.
“Ready?” Aizawa yelled. “Start”
The boy charged at you with his fist cocked back. You dodged left and jabbed him in the chest. Todoroki stumbled back at the hit with his eyes widened. “You’re strong”
“Now you don’t have to go easy on me” you smirked.
The two of you exchanged a number of hits before the match was over. The match ended with Todoroki sending a kick to your side, which caused you to fall to the mat.
“Todoroki wins”
“Fucking shit” you huffed. Todoroki offered you a hand, which you graciously took.
“You’re a better sparring partner than Bakugo” the dual hair colored boy spoke.
“I heard that you bastard” the blonde yelled behind you. “You. I want to spar with you after school”
“Yes sir Mr. Boom boom man” you salute. He growled at the nickname and stormed off. You turned on your heel with your arms crossed and walked to the locker rooms.
—————-——————»
You sat in the common area while everybody else were either in their room or out training. Everyone except Todoroki, who was currently sitting in front of you with a bowl of cold soba, starring right at you.
“Can I help you Todo?” You asked looking up from the book you were reading.
“I find you fascinating. You fell from the sky and you’re adjusting well” He stated. Slurping on his noodles.
“This is a better life than my old one. So I’m satisfied” you shrugged.
Todoroki scrunched his eyebrows together. Confusion visible on his face. “What do you mean a better life?”
You sighed as you closed the hard covered book. “Well, my life before any of this happened was complete–excuse my language– shit”
The boy nodded his head as you spoke.
“My father left right after I was born. He’s the lucky one in this story” you joked. A small smile formed on Todoroki’s face. “He left because when I was born my mom got abusive. She drank and drank and took out all of her anger on us. Cigarette burns here and there. Beer bottles thrown, wine bottles on a good day. My whole life story is bull”
“Wow. And I thought my dad was a dick” He laughed. You chuckled at his joke. “I’m sure you already know...”
“Like I said before, I know about your story. You’ve never told me”. You made your way to his side of sofa as he placed the empty bowl on the table in front of you.
“Well it’s really no different from what you’ve probably read. The way he used to breed my mother like she was some show dog.” His face scrunched in disgust. “The way he drove her crazy. It’s really a shitshow. I barely see either of my siblings anymore due to the fact that the thought of them resenting me plagues my mind.”
You looked into eachother eyes as he spoke. The trauma and anger that his bicolored eyes held as he spoke tempted you to hug him right then and there. You arms hesitantly wrapped around his neck.
You felt his tense shoulders relax in your hold as his arms wrap around your waist. He buried his face in between your neck and your shoulder.
“It’s always that one parent who has to be a bitch. That’s why son’s of bitches are a thing” you joked, trying to lighten the mood. Todoroki’s shoulders jumped as he laughed at your corny joke.
You pulled away from the boy and smiled. The two of you wished eachother a goodnight and went your separate ways. On your way to your room you see Midoriya and Bakugo outside of your door, waiting.
“Um…hi guys?” You smiled nervously.
“So you know?” Deku hesitated. His hands visibly shook with anxiety.
“I guess I do. I won’t tell anyone. I know you’ll get in a whole lot of shit if I do”
“Like hell you won’t” Bakugo growled “I’ll blow your ass into oblivion”
“That’s a big word for a asshat like you. I just said I’m not going to tell anyone” you growled back playfully crossing your arms with a smirk. You turned back to the baby broccoli with a smile “Your secret is safe with me. Have a goodnight. Both of you”
You walked into your room and fell backwards onto your bed. You moaned at how good it felt to finally lay down and go to sleep.
————————————————
Todoroki was woken out of his sleep by light knocks on his door. He rubbed the sleep away from his eyes as he opened the door to reveal a h/c haired girl with an unreadable expression.
“Y/n? It’s 4 in the morning. Why are you-“ his question was cut off by you grabbing his hand and dragging his half asleep body towards your room.
“Ask questions after I show you” you said. Expression still unreadable. Once you entered your room and made sure the door was locked, you pushed the heterochromatic eyed boy down on your bed.
He looked at you with worry. We’re you hurt? Should he take you to see Aizawa? Or recovery girl? His thoughts went blank as he watched you closed your eyes as a third one opened in the middle of your forehead. He watched in awe as you created a void of darkness in the space between your two hands. Everything in your room began to float as the void got bigger. Even the bed Todoroki was sitting on. His eyes widened as you then ball your fists which caused everything to remain still while they were still afloat. You dropped everything back to their original placements by clapping your hands together with a toothy smile plastered on your face.
“Look Todoroki. I manifested a quirk.” You squealed happily. The boy smiled at how excited you were about your quirk. He’s only known you 2 days but he couldn’t stop thinking about the girl that fell out of the sky and her smile.
“That was really cool y/n” he clapped. You jumped into his arms causing the both of you to fall backwards on the bed. The position you two landed in had both of your faces beet red.
“Uh...sorry. I got a little too excited” you laughed nervously. You stood again brushing off you pajama bottoms with a smile.
“It’s fine. I’d be excited too if I’d just manifest my quirk” he chuckled. “What’s your hero name going to be?”
“I have no idea” you yawned. “We should probably go back to sleep”
“Goodnight Y/n”
“Goodnight Todoroki” You watched as he closed your door silently not wanting to wake up your classmates.
The teenage boy smiled hard on the other side of the door. His thoughts swarmed with vivid pictures of you as he walked back to his room. Maybe Midoriya was right. Maybe he did have a crush on the girl that fell from the sky.
————————
You skipped into the common area mentally preparing yourself for your “presentation”. It was Saturday evening meaning that almost everybody would be there.
“Hey y/n-chan. You look happier than usual” Denki chirped, causing everyone to look in your direction. They watched as you walked into the middle of the room with a toothy smile.
“I am. I want to show you guys something” Everybody watched as you closed your eyes. They didn’t expect a third one to open in the middle of your forehead. They all gasped as everything around them covered in black goo and began to float. Everybody except Todoroki. He was just as happy as you were.
Once you disabled your quirk everyone screamed in joy.
“WHEN DID IT MANIFEST!?” Mina asked
“WHAT DO YOU CALL IT?” Izuku chimed in.
“Guys give her some space” Todoroki sighed pushing through the crowd. “You’re going to be an awesome hero y/n”
———————————————————
You held the bouquet of red and white roses tightly as Aizawa walked you down the aisle. All of your friends were fawning over how beautiful you looked. Even Bakugo was speechless.
When you reached the alter, you hugged Aizawa and whispered a faint “Thank you”. When you pulled away the man wiped a stray tear that had fallen on your cheek.
“Does Y/n have her family’s blessing to marry Shoto?” The officiant spoke.
“Yes. Yes she does” Aizawa smiled. He took his seat in the front row as the ceremony continued.
You wiped at the stray tears that fell from your eyes and smiled at your soon to be husband.
“The couple will now recite their written vows”
Shoto looked you deeply in your eyes and spoke. “Y/n ever since you fell from the sky 5 years ago you’ve always found your way into my thoughts. From the smile you sent me on your first day to the tears you shed when Aizawa adopted you I’ve always been star struck by your beauty. You fought by my side during all my battles. Mentally and physically. I’m no good at words but I mean it when I say I love you”
You didn’t even bother to wipe the tears that were flowing. You just smiled at the man before you. You tried to compose when it was your turn to recite your vows.
“Shoto” you said softly “it’s no secret that I’m not from here. But you and all of our friends made me feel at home. I cherish every last memory we have made. From our late night talks in each other’s rooms to teaching me how to make your cold soba. I can’t wait to make more.”
The both of you were teary eyed as you both slipped each other’s rings on your fingers.
“ I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now-“
Todoroki’s lips were on yours before the officiant had the chance to finish. Everybody cheered and threw flower petals your way.
“Y/n Todoroki” Shoto smiled at you.
“I love the sound of that”

Late Night Trip | Shoto Todoroki x Reader
AN: So, I got this idea from a photo a friend had sent a picture of Todoroki in this BNHA discord server I'm in! I was in Walmart and the idea just hit me. So I wrote it this. It's my attempt at fluff! I hope y'all like it! Length: 1.7k words Pronouns used: She/her
Summary: You're hungry late at night! So you and your husband take a trip to the store!
Full name: (f/n) Todoroki Quirk: (y/q) Age: 24 Hero Name: ((h/n)/none)
Tumblr media
(f/n) turned her body on the large bed letting her arms and legs drape over her husband, who chuckled a little. Her leg tightened around his waist, while her arm laid across his chest, her hand poking his cheek.
"Todoroni," She mumbled adorably, giving him her puppy dog eyes.
"Yes, love?"
"I'm hungry." She said, inching closer so her face was close to his. He placed his phone by his side and turned to her.
"Would you like me to make you something?" She fell in thought for a moment, before her (e/c) eyes looked up at him and she shook her head.
"Let's go shopping!" She cheered, throwing her arms up into the air. He groaned and pulled her into him, burying his face in her shoulder.
"All the way to the store?"
"That's where the groceries are, Sho." (f/n) giggled at his laziness. She wrapped her arms around him, breathing in his scent, feeling all her stress and worries practically melt away.
"Yeah, but it's so far."
"Come on! It'll be fun!" She said, sitting up and straddling his waist. "I'll buy you whatever you want!" Shoto laughed, the back of his hand covering his mouth.
"I know what you're doing, (n/n), and it's not working." He assured, letting his hand fall above his head. (f/n) bent down, placing her hands on his chest and her chin on top of her hands. She tried to give him her best innocent, puppy dog eyes, knowing full well it would sway him into agreeing with her.
"I'll buy you soba~," (f/n) said with a hopeful smile. Just that little look and the tone of her voice made Shoto automatically agree with her. Gosh, it was so difficult to say no to that cute face of hers.
"(f/n)..." Shoto whined and his hands moved to rest on her thighs. "That's cheating!"
"It'll be fun!" (f/n) countered. "Oh! We can buy pocky and play the pocky game!" He rolled his mismatched eyes at her enthusiasm- her cute enthusiasm that just made him want to melt into a puddle.
"But you can kiss me whenever you want."
"Ok, but like... there's a treat involved." Shoto's eyes widened and he placed a hand on his chest, pretending to be offended. He even added a little gasp.
"I thought my kisses were the treat." (f/n)'s eyes widened and she frantically shook her head.
"N-no! I didn't m-mean it like that! I swear! I was... just..." (f/n) trailed off when she saw her husband start laughing, which prompted her to sit up, cross her arms, and pout. "You're teasing me, aren't you?"
"Are you the most adorable wife on the planet?"
"Sho!"
"I can't help it," He laughed, then smiled up at her. "I'm sorry, love." She leaned forward, pressing a short kiss on his lips.
"I'll bite your lip off, I swear."
"Oh, I'm so scared." He taunted playfully. She sat up, holding her hands up. "No, no, no please!" Shoto pretended to be scared and immediately held his hands up in surrender. "Have mercy, my love!"
"Go on! What were you saying?" (f/n) threatened, pretending to glare at him. He reached out and gently took her wrists and looked up at her.
"I surrender." She smirked, holding her head up high.
"I demand a kiss as a sign of surrender."
"Come here," She shook her head.
"Nope. You come up here." He shook his head and pulled her wrists, making her fall forward. He caught her shoulders and gently pressed a kiss to her lips. When they pulled away, she glared at him.
"Cheater."
"Well, now you know how it feels." He teased, making her grumble.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever, IcyHot."
"Come on, let's get changed. It's late anyway so we shouldn't waste too much time." Shoto said looking at his phone, it was currently 12:38 am and (f/n) wanted snacks from the store. Nothing surprising, honestly.
(f/n) rolled off of him and let him sit up properly. The two quickly got changed and gathered their necessities.
"Wanna drive?" Shoto asked, holding the car keys up as he walked to the front door with (f/n).
"Sure!" The two got into their car putting on their seat belts and (f/n) started the car up. "What store? Wanna go to my favorite? The far one?!"
"Why would we do that?" Shoto asked, looking at her.
"Why not?!"
"Because it's midnight... and we should be asleep."
"Or, hear me out. We could drive to that one store that has (fav snack)."
"That's like 40 minutes away." Shoto said, a little shocked she was willing to drive that far for (fav snack).
"It's not that far," (f/n) said, placing her hands on the steering wheel.
"Not that far- that's almost two hours of driving! For a bag of (candy/chips)!" He argued but he could see it didn't really phase her.
"We don't have work tomorrow."
"Baby," He frowned. "What happened to wanting to sleep early?" (f/n) giggled nervously and looked away then back at him.
"Start tomorrow?" He sighed in defeat which made her squeal in delight as she quickly pulled out of the driveway. Shoto chuckled, shaking his head. Yep, this was one of the many reasons he married this nutcase. Late night trips to a faraway store for her favorite snack.
"Play something! Something fun!" (f/n) said, keeping her eyes on the road. Shoto nodded, connecting his phone to the car and playing her playlist, which contained all her favorite songs.
As they drove on the highway, (f/n) sang and "danced" to all the songs, singing most of them since she knew every lyric by heart. Shoto just watched with adoration, sometimes lip-syncing some words with her.
The 40-minute drive flew by and before they knew it, they were at (f/n)'s favorite store. She excitedly got out of the car, running into the store.
"You forgot... to lock... the car," Shoto muttered as she disappeared through the doors. He stuffed his hands into his pockets and walked towards the entrance, jumping a little when the car lock behind him. "Good lord." He chuckled.
Shoto had finally found (f/n) in one the isles and his eyes widened when he noticed the already full basket in her hands.
"Hey, babe! What about this?" She held up a pack of gummy worms. He took the basket from her, looking at her with wonder.
"You were in here for maybe 40 seconds. How is this thing full already?" She smiled, waving his question off.
"Pick baby."
"I don't like gummy worms." She shrugged, putting it back before turning on her heel and walking away from him. Shoto quickly followed behind her, grabbing another basket, since she'd already filled up the first one. (f/n) grabbed different types of juices and snacks, nonchalantly throwing them into the basket her husband held.
"You should've grabbed a cart," He informed, holding up both of the overflowing baskets. "Why didn't you?"
"Eh, the baskets were closer!"
"I'll go get one." He said, placing the basket next to (f/n), while walking to the front. (f/n) continued on her quest for more snacks, gathering a bunch of candies, chocolates, chips, and whatnot in her arms. "I can't leave you alone for ten seconds." He said, making her turn around, one of the bags of chips falling to the floor. "Ten seconds, baby. Ten whole seconds, all you had to do was stand here. You still managed to get stuff." (f/n) only giggled, throwing her stash into the cart.
"You love me."
"To the moon and back, but you astound me with your abilities, (f/n). You truly do." She winked at him as she picked up one of the baskets and spilled the contents of it into the cart.
"(Fav flavor drink/1) or (fav flavor drink/2)?" (f/n) asked, holding up the two separate drinks.
"Whichever you want, love," Shoto answered, before looking at his phone. It was 2:17 am and (f/n) was still packed with energy. This came with its own list of pros and cons. Sure, she had an easier time staying up so night shifts for her were easy. But then again, she couldn't sleep early and would wake up later in the day, which was a bad habit. This little trip of theirs was a pro and a con. Sure, he loved spending time with her and it was kinda fun to drive this far. But then again, it was late and they should've been asleep. After a few more moments of watching (f/n) debate between the two drinks, Shoto spoke up. "Just get them both."
"Oh! Great idea!" She giggled, before dropping the drinks into the cart, which made Shoto reach down and adjust them so they wouldn't crush the other snacks. A few minutes of walking through all the isles, they'd decided they had enough stuff. "Let's go!" (f/n) said, running ahead while Shoto followed behind.
The cashier was just as surprised as Shoto as she slid every snack and drink across the register to scan the items. Shoto paid and they both walked out to the parking lot and threw all of their delicious snacks into the trunk before getting into the car.
"At least we won't be coming back for a while," Shoto commented, pulling his seatbelt down.
"Who said that?" His mismatched eyes shot to hers.
"Because we bought so much stuff." (f/n) giggled.
"Bold of you to assume it won't all be gone by the end of the weak."
"NO!" He yelled, his eyes widening. "Don't do that, you'll get sick!" (f/n)'s giggles turned into laughter as he went on about how dangerous it was to eat all of the junk food they'd bought.
"Relax, baby!" She yelled, between her fits of giggles. "I was kidding, of course, I'm not going to eat it all in a week." (f/n) drove them back home, which was, of course, filled with singing and lots of giggles.
**
(f/n) jumped on the bed after changing into some comfortable clothes, spilling all the candy and snacks onto her bed. Shoto stretched before sliding under the covers next to her.
"You seem like you're planning to stay up. Eating all this junk food before bed isn't healthy either."
"But, babe." (f/n) whined, turning to her husband and pouting.
"It's 3 am." He said, grabbing the remote.
"Come on! It'll be fun." There was a moment of silence as Shoto debated on whether or not he wanted to actually stay up all night. When his eyes met his wife's... he couldn't deny her.
"You're a bad influence, you know that?" She squealed in delight, wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug. Her lips pressed against his cheek quickly.
"I love you, Shoto!" She giggled, her (e/c) meeting his.
"I love you too, (f/n)." He replied, leaning down and pressing his lips against hers. "To the moon and back."

All might daughter
Part five
Bakugou POV
I was out for a walk . I couldn't sleep after she ran out like that today. I wish she would just fucking tell me what's going on. I was heading towards the bridge when I see a h/c girl standing there .
Then I recognize who it was as I got closer. It was Y/n. I told there for minute to see what she was doing. She taped a piece of paper on the ground. The step on to the ledge.
My heart felt like it dropped. I ran towards her. She jumped but I caught her wrist just in time . I pulled her up. Her eyes were red shot. I had no words for her . Who does she think she is trying to leave me.
" Why did you save me, I wanted to go" her voice was trembling.
" Why, what's so bad you had to take the coward way out" I swore.
" You don't understand. I was made to destroy. Earlier when my powers went crazy, I heard voices.
They told me to kill you. I'm not safe to be around. I have to destroy myself before I destroy others" she cried. Her eyelashes were collecting tears.
" Y/n listen to me. You have a good heart and whatever your fighting against. I will help you fight, I'm your team mate . Your not going to give up though. Your not a monster and those voices I'll kick there asses and chase them away." I sigh
" I don't want to turn into my parents" she whimper. " I see my mom every night, she haunts my dreams. Now a new voice has found me in the day"
" I won't let that happen" I pulled her into a hug. She the first person I let hug me . Besides my parents when I was little . I hated it then too. Holding her close like this made me feel shit.
We stood there for awhile and then she picked up her note. Crumble it up and threw it in the river.
" let me walk you home" I took her hand
" I spent the night at Izuku" she yawned . That didn't set well with me. Wether she saw him like a brother or not.
" let me see your phone" she handed me her phone. Her eyes were still blood shot. I texted deku.
Y/n: Hey deku this is Bakugou. Y/n staying at my place so don't worry
" Come on I'm not letting you out of my sit, after what just happen" I said . She so stupid, did she think no one would care.  I Fucking care.

      " I'm sorry" she whispered.

I took her upstairs. Kiri was pass out on my couch. There both fucking idiots.
" look Ill sleep on the floor" she said.
" I'm not going to make you sleep on the fucking floor. Sleep in my bed, just keep to your side." I whisper. I didn't want to wake shitty hair up.
I lay on the right side And she laid on the other. There was only one blanket unfortunately. So we had to share.  She was asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
I still couldn't sleep. I almost lost this idiot today. The world almost lost a hero. She was pretty good not as good at me but still .

She needs to stop obsessing over her past. That what will get her in the end . She pro hero material and she needs to focus on that. Icyhot  and deku are just destructing her. She don't have time for all these extras.

I woke up first to see out legs somehow got tangled. I was holding her against me . I hurried and pushed her away and untangle our legs. Her and shittyhair were still sleeping . I look at the time . Shit, were going to be late for school.

                                         Your POV 🌺

I woke up to Bakugou screaming in my face. That were going to be late. I got up and then realize my uniform is at Izuku.
" Here, we leave a bag of clothes here. Lots of times we pass out in his couch. Mina might have a uniform in there" kiri toss over to me.
That's so cute that they spend the night with Bakugou that often.  I found a skirt but I didn't know who shirt was who.
" Here," Bakugou thorough me one from his closet. It wasn't necessary I could of wore one from the bag. This was no time to argue though.
" Guys turn around so I can change" I said . Bakugou huffed about it but they both turn. Keeping my eyes on them. I change into the uniform.
We were twenty minutes late, waking into class. Everyone was looking at us . My face was red I want to my chair. I try not to look at Eraser head.
" Why are you guys walking in my class late" Eraser head glare at us .

" We over slept" kiri spoked up
" Well get your notes off someone near you. I don't want this happening again." He said .
" Yes sir" I replied while taking notes from Izuku hands. He gave me a worry look . " I tell you later" I mouth. Lunch time came when todoroki came up to me .
“ Eat with me” he said. Taking my arm. I didn’t have much of a choice. I also haven’t talk to him in a couple days .
__________________________________
Todoroki POV❤️🤍
This morning when Y/n walk in with Bakugou made me so mad. She wearing his shirt even. She fucking spent the night with him. I attend to figure out what happen.
I sat down at a empty table . I usually eat by myself . I don’t really like taking to other people .
Y/n is different I could talk to her all day. I don’t understand why. Maybe because she different then the others. Her head is screw on right.
“ So what’s up todo” she said
“ Why did you spend the night at Bakugou” I thought I would cut to the chase.
“ I was originally spending the night at Izuku. He like my best friend . I couldn’t sleep so I went for a walk. I had a mental break down. I try to something stupid and Bakugou saw me. He caught me in time . He took me back to his house, and we slept” she explained.
What does she mean something stupid. Is she closed to Izuku because of all might . Did Bakugou try anything ? questions race through my mind. I looked around to see Bakugou shooting dagger at me with his eyes.
“ what do you mean something stupid” I pressed
“ Listen how about I tell you about it when we’re alone” she whisper. Her eyes seem to sadden.
After lunch I was stopped by Bakugou in the hall way. He seem like he was livid .
“ Hey Icyhot , what are you doing with Y/n” he yelled.
“ Am I not allowed to talk to her” I asked . I try to keep a straight face.
“ No she my team mate not yours. mine” he fumed
“ She not property and she can have friends . It’s not like your her boyfriend” I try walking away but he step in my way.
“ For now, you weren’t there last night. You don’t know how much she has on her mind . Leave her alone. She needs to focus on the sport festival that’s coming up .” He seem to lower his voice . What did happen last night.
“ Bakugou what happen. I asked her and she said that you just stopped her from doing something stupid. what was it.” I didn’t mean to pry . I just feel like I needed to know. I care about her.
“ I can’t tell you, just stop talking to her” he scoffed.
“ I won’t and what you said about for now. That’s how I feel to. I don’t give up though” I pushed past him.
I couldn’t get to the door way . A bunch of students from the other class was blocking it.
“ What are they doing Here” y/n asked.
“ Scooping out the competition . At least they know what a pro hero looks like now . move out of my ways extras” he growled.
“ I can’t wait to kick there ass”
“ put them in there place” the students started yelling at Bakugou comment . They all hate us now.
“ Hey isn’t that girl the daughter of all might” one shouted
“ there a rumor that her real parents are the worst villains over” someone whisper
“ What a freak” someone else said.
I could tell that Y/n heard it also. Her face show no emotion now. Except for the tears that were trying to escape.
The purple hair kid who was arguing with Bakugou. Turnt to his classmate who made the comment .
“ That was unnecessary. Let’s go Now” he said . The first bell rang and everyone took there seat at there desk.
After class was over . I waited for Y/n she was walking out with Bakugou .
“ Y/n , do you want to hang out” I asked. Bakugou looked pissed.
“ Yeah sure, we can go over to my house. We can Watch movies if you want” she smiled .
“ yeah that’s sounds fun” I said
“ we can walk , my dads been busy here lately. So he can’t really pick me up now. Which I’m glad because I needed some breathing room.” She started to carry on. It was kind of cute.
“ I thought we were going hang out” Bakugou clear his throat.
“ We hung out yesterday. I have other friends” She laugh. She was oblivious to Bakugou feelings . I can’t imagine Bakugou being any good with words though.
“ Whatever Stay up to fucking late, were training at the ass crack of dawn” he stormed off.
We walked to her house. She was beautiful and the way her hand felt in my mind , was nice. I think after the sports festival I’m going ask her out.
“We’re here” she smiled . Opening the door her dad was in the living room.
“ Hey, me and todoroki are going to my room to watch scary movie” she said.
“ Door open, have fun you two” he smiled . This was awkward . I don’t want to do anything that will upset all might . I respect him more then I respect my dad.
Her room was large and organized. She had paintings on her wall. They were actually amazing. Then I see two others that caught my attention. They were dark and twisted.
“ Your paintings are beautiful” I said
“ Bakugou said they were alright “ she joked . Wait why was he in her room.
“ Bakugou was in your room” I pressed
“Yeah he comes over and we train” she said oblivious to my feelings about it.
“‘Oh well can I train with you guys tomorrow” I asked. I don’t want Bakugou to be alone with her.
“ yeah sure” she said . She hold up two different scary movies. I told her it doesn’t matter to me .
She plopped on her bed.
“ hey come sit down” she said patting the empty spot next her. I sat next to her on her bed. She pulled a blanket over us and lay her head on me. We must of fell asleep like that.

Y/n POV 🌺
I woke to find todoroki sleeping on me. His head was on my chest and his arms were wrapped around me. I look at the door way to see a piss of Bakugou standing there.
“ Your father let me up here. You didn’t show up to train dumb ass . I was fucking worried. While your dumb ass sucking face” he screamed. Todo woke up and realize what’s going on. He sat up .
“ Its not what it’s looks like. We fell asleep during the movie and woke up like this. What’s it matter anyways. I’m sorry I miss training” I explain
“ Be sorry all you want . I’m going to work your sorry ass hard tommorw to make up for today training.” He growled “ now get ready for fucking school”
“ Get the fuck out so I can change then” I yelled . I look at todoroki who was standing there awkwardly.
“ I’m sorry for him” I apologized.
“ it’s fine I’m going to get out so you can change” he said .

Bakugou POV🥺❤️
Me and icy hot stood in the hall way. Who does he think he is. She mine not his. I will beat him, I’m better then him on every way.
I’ll ask her out and when she says yes . He will have no choice to back out . Yes after I win the festival. I will ask her our in front of everyone. She will have no choice but to say yes . That will ducking show him.
“ Okay lets go “ she said coming out of her room. “ Also here your hoodie I forgot to give back” she handed it to me .
“ it’s yours now . I told you I don’t fucking want it” I threw it back at her. She rolled her eyes at me and tie the hoodie around her waist . It made me kind of happy that she was going to have it on her all day .
Class was shit all day. After school I met her in the hallway . “ hey let’s go we’re going to train to make up for this morning” I said .
“ fine let me say goodbye to Izuku and todo” she said. She got a nick name for him now too .
We went to her house and we trained for hours and hours . It was ten a clock at night, when I decided she was done. I could of went all night .
“ Bakugou, good luck tommorw” She said .
Our faces were so close. I could kiss her right now but no I think I’ll wait until after I win tommorw.
“ Whatever dummy I don’t need luck”
As soon as I turn around to walk away. I smiled like a dumbass.

OK, so I have a really specific HC about this -  The internship started immediately after New Years, and lasted a week, so they were probably back in school on the 8th or 9th January.
And guess what’s a few days later? That’s right, Todoroki’s birthday.
“I have no idea how they found out, but...it was really a surprise. I should have suspected something was up when Bakugou asked me to stay after training so he could practice his new move against the cold. By the time we got back the dorm, the common room was all decorated with balloons and everything...and everyone was there.
Iida convinced Lunch Rush to make soba for dinner and Sato even baked a cake for me - it was a strawberry shortcake - half red - half white. I sent a picture to Fuyumi, so she can show it to you, Mom. And Jirou sang - you should hear her, she’s really talented.”
Shouto smiles to himself. He always hated his birthday - his existence was something that brought so many people so much misery. Nothing to be celebrated. But now, things are different and for the first time in his life he feels good about it. His life is turning around, his mother and siblings all have hope now. And Shouto has friends who care enough to organize a surprise party for him. He has reasons to celebrate and he knows sharing this with his mother makes her happy too.
A loud knock on the door breaks the train of his thoughts. He wonders who it could be this late. He doesn’t have visitors often; sometimes Midoriya or Iida comes if they agreed to study together or Sero pops in to borrow his manga or  his toothpaste if he ran out.
He opens the door to find Midoriya smiling nervously.  Bakugou’s scowling off to the side like he can’t decide whether he wants to be there or wants to bolt.
“What’s wrong?” Shouto asks.
“No, nothing... we just wanted to...” Midoriya shakes his head vigorously now clearly worried that he made Shouto worried.
Shouto realizes he’s being rude - he’s too awkward at this, but it’s not like he’s had a lot of practice in greeting guests. He stands aside to let them come in.
There is a moment of silence where neither of them seems to know how to start. They spent virtually every waking moment together in the past week, but now suddenly back in the dorm it feels different.
Shouto picks up the half-written letter and puts it on the shelf. “Tea?” he asks.
“Yes, please,” says Midoriya, relieved. Bakugou just shrugs - which by now Todoroki has learnt to interpret as a yes.
The fragrance of barley tea fills the room as Shouto brews it with precise motions. He does not have any talents in the kitchen to speak of, but he does know how to make decent tea.
They sip their drink, chatting about school-work and how to flip their schedule around to be able to fit in more work-study time before Midoriya comes around to the point of their visit.
“So, we just wanted to give you this,” he pulls out a small box wrapped in festive paper, tied with a bow and hands it to Shouto with a hesitant smile.
“But you already gave me a present,” Shouto exclaims, motioning at the mug with the picture of a popular cat-meme printed on it. It was one that Kaminari showed to Shouto a while ago. At first Shouto didn’t get the joke, but once he figured it out, he was reduced to a hysterically giggling mess at everyone’s total shock and amusement.
“That was from everyone. This is from us. Open it.”
Shouto opens the package to reveal a battered All Might action figure.
“It’s a silver-age special edition,” Midoriya explains enthusiastically. “It came out when we were five. Kacchan and me both had it as kids. If you flip his right arm like this, it says “I’m here”. It’s pretty rare nowadays. But since you said you never had one as a kid, we thought that you really should.”
Shouto holds the figurine in his hand, tries the arm flip and smiles as the plastic toy booms with All Might’s signature line. He looks back at Midoriya and Bakugou - these two who have become what he would call his best friends against all odds.
He doesn’t know what to say. “Thank you.”
“It was the Nerd’s idea. I just came for the mapo tofu recipe,” Bakugou grimaces.
Shouto is grateful for his deflection, because he feels too overwhelmed with the day, being unused to the outpouring of affection.
“My sister did actually send it. I was meant to give it to you.”  It’s handwritten, together with Fuyumi thanking Bakugou for saving Natsuo. Shouto watches Bakugou’s face as he reads the words of gratitude. There is just a small crinkle on his forehead, the slightest tremble of his lips before he turns away.
“How is she doing?” Midoriya asks brightly.
“You know, she freaked out a little about the whole incident. And about...”...dad he almost says, but the word still doesn’t quite sit right.
“About?” They look at him expectantly.
Right. They don’t know about that. Shouto got so used to the idea that they know everything about his family. It strangely feels like a relief that somebody does...that he doesn’t feel like hiding parts of himself.
“Endeavor told them that he would build a new place, so they could be closer to work, and you know, for mom. To have somewhere to start over.”
“That’s good, no?” asks Midoriya.
“And what about him?” Bakugou’s face is turned away from them, as he runs his fingers over the All Might figurine.
“Yes, I think it’s good for mom to go somewhere new. Endeavor will stay in the old house. He said that’s the best for everyone. That after thinking about it, he thought distance would be best.”
Silence falls over them. Midoriya’s green eyes are looking with endless compassion, as if he could, he’d go around smashing everyone’s pain to oblivion. But Shouto knows that some pains are just impervious to smashing. They wait in the shadows and fester. Bakugou keeps fiddling with the figurine, but his shoulders tense up.
“Well, it’s late. You dumbasses have fun chatting. I’m going to bed so I can kill you in training tomorrow,” he growls and leaves the room abruptly.
After the door is slammed shut, Midoriya turns to Shouto. “And you?”
Shouto thinks about the old house full of painful memories and ghosts of broken lives. He thinks of his father sitting alone in the darkness, with nothing left to give but his absence. He thinks of a new place, where they can all smile again - it could be nice. Then he looks around his room - the familiar furniture, his new mug with the cat meme, the discarded party hat, the All Might Action figure and he knows.
“This feels kind of like home now.”
Midoriya’s smile is content. He stands up ready to leave. “Good night, Todoroki-kun. And happy birthday again.”
“Thank you, Midoriya.”
After he leaves, Shouto pulls out his futon, lies down and stares into the darkness, replaying again and again the day. All he sees is smiles of his friends, all he hears it’s their laughter - it’s the happiest birthday of his life.
His phone buzzes next to him. It’s Bakugou of all people.
Tell your sister thanks for the recipe.
                                                                               OK.
                                                                              Thanks for the present.
I told you it was the Nerd, not me.
                                                                             Well, thanks anyways.
Whatever. Tchk.
                                                                           See you in class.
Shut up already. I’ll kill you in training tomorrow, IcyHot.
I’m looking forward to seeing you try.
And he is, kind of. The whole class is great, but there is a special kind of adrenaline rush competing against King Explosion Murder. Shouto smiles at his phone before locking the screen. Darkness falls into the room once again.
He closes his eyes, and dreams about a mini plastic All Might smashing a cat-shaped strawberry shortcake.

Fighting and Flirting (Bakugo x Reader)
Chapter 8: Reassurance
[Summary: You finally get back after the attack at the USJ and you start to feel more alone than you ever had before. Is anyone going to help you out of the hole you seem to have fallen into, or will everyone around you just let you drown?
Warning: Reader isn’t doing too good right now, slight hints of depression]
Masterlist
The time after the attack at the USJ was hard for you. Endeavor insisted on talking to you and Shoto about it when you got to his house, just after you had finished all of the police interviews. You were sure he just wanted to hear that something bad was happening to All Might since his face seemed the least angry you had ever seen it when you mentioned that he had gotten hurt, but you couldn’t really bring yourself to care. You were already sick of answering questions.
Your parents weren’t home when you got there. They had left you a note that they had to leave for another work trip that morning, and you couldn’t help but wonder if they knew what had happened. You were sure that the police had to have called them, but you hoped they would’ve called you to see if you were alright. Sadly, however, when you checked your phone, all you found was a notification from your news app, announcing the attack that you had just been witness to, to the rest of the world. You were sure that would be the next big media buzz, and you really weren’t looking forward to dealing with the press again.
(Y/N): Hey, Sho, are you busy rn?
Sho: Not really, just tuning out a lecture, why?
(Y/N): Ah, nothing. I was just wondering if you wanted to run somewhere to eat when you got a chance?
Sho: I would, but “father” is insisting that I train tonight.
Sho: Your parents skip town again?
(Y/N): Yeah…
(Y/N): I’ll just see what kind of food they left behind.
Sho: Sorry.
(Y/N): NP
To be honest, being alone was the last thing that you wanted at that moment. Your mind kept flashing to the images that had burned themselves into your brain. Nomu’s claws digging into All Might’s sides. Midoriya’s face as that blue-haired man reached out to grab him. Bakugo, seconds away from getting trampled by Nomu. The more the images flashed through your mind, the sicker you started to feel. Your appetite started to vanish and just as you reached the pantry, you decided it’d be best to just head to bed. You had gotten home late, anyway. And maybe some sleep would do you some good.
Despite that, when you woke up, you weren’t feeling any better. You had nightmares all through the night, waking up every hour or so, and in the morning you were still alone, and as you got ready for school, your brain convinced you that you were better off that way. Perhaps you were being a bit dramatic. Your parents didn’t seem bothered by it, seeing as they didn’t bother calling. Endeavor just seemed to be treating it as an excuse to train Shoto some more. Shoto didn’t even seem all that worried about you, or you knew he’d blow off training. Obviously, everyone else was fine, besides Aizawa, Thirteen, All Might, and Midoriya, who had gotten injured. Maybe you were just burdening your friends with your over-dramatics by hoping they’d help you out. You weren’t even hurt.
You made it to Shoto’s house a little later than you normally would. You had to admit you were a bit groggy. You couldn’t seem to get your brain to focus, but honestly, you liked it better that way. At least it wasn’t the scenes you had been seeing the night before.
“You’re late,” Shoto said, as you reached the gate to his house.
“Yeah, sorry,” Even you could tell that your voice was a lot more tired than it normally was, “I almost slept through my alarm. We’ll still get to class on time.”
He huffed a little, obviously in a bad mood from his father’s training the night before. You couldn’t really bring yourself to think of anything comforting to tell him, though, and you could tell that both of you knew there was something off as you made the rest of your walk in silence. The air was hanging a bit heavy, and saying it felt like you were choking was obviously a bit dramatic, but it was also entirely true.
- - - - -
Class that day was also odd. You all expected a substitute to teach you while Aizawa was in the hospital, but instead, your own perpetually-exhausted teacher walked in that morning, covered with bandages and somehow acting the same that he had just before this, though maybe a little more serious.
As he continued his regular morning routine of making sure you were all in your seats and attempting to get you all to be quiet and behaved, you couldn’t help but wonder how just about no one seemed to have any problem with what happened besides you. Perhaps part of being a hero is being able to brush things like this off. Maybe you really were just being too dramatic for a hero.
“Now what you really need to be focused on,” You tuned back into what he was saying, scolding yourself for letting your worries affect your schoolwork, “Is your next battle. The UA sports festival.”
You knew what that was, and you could tell all of your classmates did too as they all started chatting with each other loudly. You really couldn’t tune in to any of the specific comments or conversations, but you were really more focused on the fact that they had decided to hold it so close to what just happened. Were they really so unaffected or were they just trying to seem like it? Maybe they were just trying to give the media something else to focus on, but you really couldn’t tell anymore.
Either way, you couldn’t listen to anything after that. Your brain was a mess and the more you tried to untie the messy knots of thoughts, the more they seemed to tangle up. How were you the only one who seemed to have a problem with what had just happened? Why were you alone in this? How could you ever end up a hero if you made a big deal out of every minor villain attack? It’s not like anyone died. They just… could have. They almost did. But they didn’t, and a good hero would focus on that, right? Right?
And now that you had to worry about the sports festival too, it just seemed like there were even more thoughts to get tangled up. There was no way you’d beat anyone like Shoto, Bakugo, or Kirishima. They had quirks specifically meant for fighting, and you were sure that would show up. Any sort of race was bound to be more fit for Iida than you. Even Midoriya was bound to beat you in at least one section, though he’d probably disqualify himself from the festival if he used his quirk before the last game. You were starting to wonder why anyone thought it was a good idea for you to go here, to begin with. Obviously, you weren’t meant to be a hero, and obviously none of these contests were fit for you.
Before you knew it, you had spaced out through an entire morning of classes. You weren’t entirely sure what you had done the entire morning, and you knew you missed some notes that you should probably have for studying later, but at least you managed to tune your brain back in, in time for lunch.
“Hey, (Y/N),” You heard Uraraka’s voice, as chipper as ever, though you could tell there was something going on in her brain, too. She was probably just thinking about what she had to do to get ready for the sports festival, “are you sitting with us or Todoroki today?”
“Oh, um,” You had honestly forgotten about what lunch entailed. Honestly, the thought of food made you feel sick, and you were sure you’d just worry someone if you spent the entire time spacing out at a lunch table, “I’m actually gonna go for a walk. I kind of need some fresh air.”
“Oh,” Her voice lost a little bit of its spark, and you could tell there was something a little wrong. You really hoped she wasn’t wasting her time worrying about you, “Are you sure?”
“Yeah,” You said, forcing a smile in an attempt to calm her worries, “I just need to stretch my legs a bit.”
“Alright,” She doesn’t sound sure, but she agrees anyway. You appreciate that she doesn’t try to argue more because you weren’t sure how long you could keep up the smile before you started crying instead.
- - - - -
FROM HIS PERSPECTIVE
He could tell something was wrong with her right away. Her eyes looked duller than usual and she and Todoroki hadn’t walked in talking like they normally did. Admittedly, all of them were a little stressed today. Even he had a bit of a shock with how terrifying that fight yesterday had been, the only difference was that he would never admit it.
“Hey, Todoroki,” The gravity girl seemed concerned as she called Todoroki over, “Is it normal for (Y/N) to skip meals? I mean, I guess she could just be going for a run to get ready for the sports festival, but I’m kind of worried.”
“I think she just needs some alone time,” Icyhot replied, not really answering the girl’s question. Though, that wasn’t odd for him. He seemed to be in a bad mood today too, though Bakugo couldn’t really tell if that was different than any other day. He always seemed to be slightly annoyed with everyone.
“Hey,” a hand grabbed Bakugo’s shoulder. He knew exactly who it was right away, though he wasn’t entirely sure how.
“What the hell do you want, dumb hair?”
Kirishima sighed, ignoring the nickname, “Do you think we should check on (Y/N)? She doesn’t seem to be doing very well. And you saw her at the USJ. I’m just worried.”
“So?” He wasn’t really sure why the red-headed thought he needed to be involved in this. The two of you had never gotten along, and despite the fact that he legitimately respected how well you handled yourself during the fight yesterday, you still weren’t exactly friends.
“I just think we should check on her is all,” Kirishima sounded worried and Bakugo couldn’t say he wasn’t worried too, though he couldn’t tell why.
“Fine,” he sighed, attempting to make it clear that this was a one-time thing. And that his spiky-haired companion shouldn’t get used to him checking in on all of their classmates when they were having a bad day. He wasn’t a therapist, he was just giving in so he wouldn’t have to deal with Kirishima lecturing him for the rest of the week.
- - - - -
You knew you were just distracting yourself. You knew very well that as you sat outside of the school, sitting cross-legged with your back against the wall, that you weren’t “practicing illusions” as you told yourself, trying to excuse the number of butterflies that were currently creating a vortex around you. You were trying to focus your brain on something that wasn’t going to make you feel like throwing up in one of the nearby bushes, and you were sure that you’d be doing that for the entirety of your lunch hour.
“Woah,” You hear a familiar and amazed voice outside of you swarm of illusions, “That’s a lot of butterflies! They look so cool!”
“Kirishima?” You drop the illusions, causing all of your butterflies to fade out of existence, vanishing into thin air, “What are you doing out here?”
“Oh, uh,” He seemed to be trying to think of an excuse. You weren’t sure why has trying to avoid the question, but you knew that whatever he thought of, it wasn’t going to be convincing, though you weren’t really in the state of mind to call him out for lying no matter what he said.
“I wanted to see more of what your quirk could do,” Bakugo cut in, causing you to finally notice him standing behind his red-headed friend, “If we’re going to be competing against each other in the sports festival, it’s only fair that I know what you can do.”
“Oh,” You’re surprised at how much emotion was in your voice. You hadn’t heard that much since you got home, though you weren’t sure what emotion exactly it was, “I doubt you have anything to worry about from me, Bakugo. My quirk isn’t exactly battle-made.”
“I think I’ll judge that for myself,” He states, sounding as though you were trying to trick him. Though, somehow, as he and Kirishima sat down on either side of you, you couldn’t help but feel a little less alone than you had earlier in the game, “Show me some of your illusions.”
You can’t help but laugh a little, just a light laugh under your breath, at his commanding tone. He sounded like a child demanding that his parents read him a bedtime story, “Any specific requests?”
“Can you do people?” Kirishima asked, and then without waiting for your reply, continued, “You should do All Might!”
You close your eyes, focusing on All Might, every detail of his appearance, trying to create a convincing image of him in your mind so you could translate it into light. Before long, you had created a life-sized version of All might in front of you, wearing one of his old hero costumes.
“Woah!” Kirishima sounded fascinated as he stared at your creation in front of him, “It looks just like him.”
“How does your quirk work exactly?” Bakugo asks, and as you look over at him you notice his eyes studying your illusion, seeming like they’re taking in every single detail, “Do you just think about what you wanna make and it happens?”
“Sort of,” You were starting to feel better, though you couldn’t quite tell why. Maybe it was the distraction. Or maybe it was because you weren’t entirely alone anymore, “I have to think about exactly what I want to see. Including every detail of their appearance. If I forget someone has a mole somewhere, the illusion won’t have the mole. If I forget to make a shadow, there isn’t a shadow.”
“You must be pretty observant, then,” He says it as though it isn’t a compliment, though you’ve learned by now not to take that personally. Instead, he sounds more like he’s studying you, “That looks exactly like him. Can you do voices too?”
“Of course, young Bakugo,” Your illusion replies instead of you, the voice exactly matching your teacher’s. You see Bakugo raise an eyebrow at that.
“You can make yourself invisible, too, can’t you?” He asks, and you’re honestly surprised at how uninterested he can make his voice sound despite all of the questions he’s asking you. Like he’s legitimately just trying to learn all he can before the sports festival.
“Pretty much,” You state, finally letting your All Might illusion drop, “It’s a new illusion, so I’m still not perfect at that one. I basically just project the things that are behind me to appear in front of me instead. It’s like a wall that just looks exactly like what’s behind me.”
“That’s pretty complicated,” Kirishima says, sounding a bit overwhelmed at the amount of thought that you have to put into your illusions, “Does all that mean that you had to think about every movement each of those butterflies made earlier?”
“Oh, yeah. Those are pretty easy, though. I’ve got those down to a science by now.”
The three of you sit for most of lunch like that. Kirishima continues to ask you to show him more illusions, all of them aggressively manly, which almost makes you giggle a few times as they start to get more ridiculous, and Bakugo continues to ask you questions about your quirk. Eventually, all of the swirling thoughts that you had been drowning in just a bit ago seemed farther away. You knew they were still there, and you knew that you’d have to address them eventually, but you were less overwhelmed.
Finally, it was time for the three of you to get back to class. You all stood up from your spots against the wall, and as you started walking, Kirishima took the lead, leaving you toward the back, next to a very brooding Bakugo. He seemed like he had something on his mind, but then again when didn’t he?
Just as you reached the door to your class you felt a hand grab your wrist, not rough, but still firm. You turn towards it, a little confused, and find Bakugo, a look of determination and something else on his face as he stared you down. He had his regular angry look painted across his face, but it seemed a little different than usual.
“I don’t wanna hear you talking shit about your quirk anymore, dumbass,” He states, sounding oddly like he was scolding you, though you weren’t quite sure why he even cared.
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t want you doubting yourself, otherwise you’re not going to put up a fight at the sports festival,” He sounds determined, “I wanna beat you, and I wanna beat you at your fullest attempt. Don’t you dare try to give up on this or it’s not going to be a real success for me when I win.”
With that, he drops your wrist and storms into the classroom. He was right, though. If you continue to doubt yourself, there was no way you’d put up a decent fight. And you wanted to beat him, too. You had just told Shoto that not too long ago. How could you give up on your goal so easily? Were you really going to let some D-list villains interrupt your hard work? Of fucking course not.
You made your way into the classroom, your determination renewed and a goal presented to you once again. You needed to beat Bakugo at the sports festival. And you were going to make every attempt to.

Text
like night and day
Katsuki watches his phone screen, waiting for a message back from Deku. But instead of receiving a text, his phone starts vibrating and screen changes to that of an incoming call.
From Deku.
"Fucking hell," Katsuki breathes out, clicking the little green button with the phone icon on it to answer the call. "What," he growls out, his voice gravelly as he tries to keep quiet enough to not wake Todoroki.
And lord help him, he can already hear Deku sobbing on the other end of the line. The other boy is speaking, but all the crying makes it impossible for Katsuki to make any sense of what he's saying.
.
missing scene between 'one day' and 'the day after'
just a little piece i put together detailing the phone conversation between katsuki and izuku, wherein katsuki explains about shouto’s depressive episode.
you can read the fic here on ao3 or under the cut! you can also find a masterlist of all my bnha fics here!
.
Bzzt bzzt.
Bzzt bzzt.
Bzzt bzzt.
Katsuki looks up to his headboard where he’d set his phone, the device vibrating loudly against the wood and damn near shaking the whole bed.
“Damn it, I thought I silenced this stupid thing,” Katsuki growls. Letting out a gruff sigh and reluctantly removing his arms from around Todoroki, he reaches up for his phone.
Four messages from fucking Deku.
Katsuki sighs again and opens his phone, already tired of the conversation before he even sees what his friend messaged him.
kacchan what happened why is todoroki-kun with you is he okay? please kacchan…
oh my god shut UP deku, icyhot’s fine
There's an odd feeling settling in Katsuki’s gut as he sees the little speech bubble with ellipses appear on Deku's end of the conversation. He knows Deku is Todoroki’s best friend and probably worried out of his mind for the idiot, but...
Considering everything that had just happened, there's a part of Katsuki that doesn't want to say anything. He knows that if he opens his mouth and tells Deku what really happened, the poor boy would probably fall apart at the seams.
where did you find him? was he actually in his room?
Katsuki doesn't respond for a minute or two, still warring with himself on whether or not to just tell Deku the truth.
Another message pops up.
dammit kacchan answer me he's my best friend. i want to help...i want to make sure he's safe
fine OKAY he jumped from his balcony happy????
There's a long pause in the conversation before he sees Deku typing out another message.
i'm coming over to your room right NOW
like hell you are! he's sleeping and if you wake him up i'll explode you into next week in case you haven't noticed, he barely slept at all last night and needs rest
...how do you know that kacchan?
cuz i saw him sitting on his railing at ass o'clock this morning. said something about nightmares or some shit idfk
Todoroki shifts closer to him, then, not reaching out but cuddling up against Katsuki’s side and sighing a sleepy breath against Katsuki’s shoulder. Katsuki is relieved that Todoroki’s still asleep and still radiating a soft heat from his left side.
"Fucking stop crying, Deku, I can't fucking understand a word you're saying," Katsuki hisses, disentangling himself from the bed covers as best as he could without disturbing the sleeping boy in his bed.
By the time Deku is speaking coherently, Katsuki has quietly slipped outside to his balcony to talk on the phone without disturbing Todoroki. He immediately regrets not grabbing at least a hoodie before stepping outside; the freezing rain from earlier has only gotten worse, and the wind just blows right through him like glass spears puncturing his skin.
"Is Todoroki-kun hurt?" is the first question Katsuki is able to make out from Deku's crying.
"He's fine, he only jumped from his balcony to mine," Katsuki tries to assure his blubbering friend. His teeth are chattering violently and he's shivering so badly that he's afraid of dropping his phone.
"Why did he jump?" Deku asks, already sounding hysterical again. "Was he trying t-to...t-trying to…"
Deku starts sobbing again and Katsuki sighs. He crouches down into a little ball to conserve whatever body heat he can. He doesn't know how long this conversation is going to last, but he hopes it's quick before he becomes a human icicle.
"I don't know, Deku, he didn't exactly bear his fucking soul to me or anything," Katsuki grumbles, but the same thought has been in his head since this morning when he found Todoroki sitting on the railing. "I think he's just going through some shit. You'd know better than me, you're his best friend."
"Sometimes I don't feel like I am…" Deku says so quietly that Katsuki has to strain to hear him. Nevermind the fact that Katsuki's hearing isn't great to begin with because of his Quirk. "He...doesn't really talk to me about his feelings...or what's bothering him…"
Katsuki blows out a frustrated sigh that freezes into frost as soon as it leaves his lungs. "Yeah, yeah, so icyhot ain't exactly an open book. Doesn't mean you two aren't close," Katsuki says. Look at us, he wants to say, but he keeps his mouth shut.
"If we're so close, how could I not know he was feeling this way!? I should have been able to see, I should have...I should have…" Deku cries into the phone, and despite himself, Katsuki feels his own heart start to crack.
Fuck, he's going soft.
Katsuki lets off a few small-scale explosions from the hand not holding his phone, hoping the heat in his palm will keep his hand warm for a little bit. "Listen up, Deku, because I'm only gonna fucking say this once."
All Katsuki hears on the other end of the line is sniffling, signaling that Deku is listening.
Katsuki takes a shuddering breath.
“If icyhot is anything like me—and I’ve learned that he definitely is—he doesn’t talk about his feelings because…” Katsuki trails off, hoping Deku will fill in the blanks.
“...Because he doesn’t want to seem weak,” Deku finishes, and Katsuki thanks his lucky stars that his childhood friend catches on quickly. “Okay...I think…” Deku pauses for a moment and sniffles before continuing, “I think I know what I need to do now.”
“Good, now can you please leave me alone and fuck off?” Katsuki says, pretty sure he’s about to freeze into an ice cube at this point.
Deku lets out some semblance of a laugh, still teary at the edges. “Okay, but only because you actually said ‘please.’”
“Fuck you,” Katsuki spits out, though there isn’t any real bite to it.
“Just...please take care of him, Kacchan. I know he means a lot to you, too,” Deku says.
“Fuck off, you damn nerd,” Katsuki says before hanging up on his friend.
Now that he’s off the phone, he quickly slides the balcony door open and slips back inside where it’s warm and he’s not going to freeze to death.
He’s just getting the feeling back in his fingers when his phone vibrates with a text message.
thank you, kacchan, for keeping him safe
Katsuki doesn’t know what to say to the message that won’t make him sound like a mushy fuckwad, so he just sends back a single emoji flipping Deku the middle finger and sets his phone on the headboard. He then glances down at Todoroki.
The boy has managed to burrow himself even further into the covers, to where only the top of his head down to his nose are visible. He’s still sound asleep; Katsuki can see the rhythmic rise and fall of Todoroki’s chest with every breath he takes, the covers lifting slightly before slowly descending back down.
And goddammit, but Katsuki can’t help the tiny smile that finds its way onto his normally scowling face.
But he growls and fights it away about two seconds later, padding over to his dresser to pull out a new set of sleep clothes that aren’t cold and wet from the freezing rain outside.
Once he’s changed into a baggy t-shirt and baggy sweats, he carefully crawls back into bed and pulls Todoroki into his arms again. The other boy is so warm against Katsuki’s chest that he can’t believe Todoroki had been so cold earlier. The difference is like night and day.
Katsuki breathes out a sigh, the small puff of air ruffling Todoroki’s hair. There’s far too much on his mind for sleep to take him right now. But he feels comfortable here with Todoroki warming him up. He feels…
Safe.
And he can only hope that Todoroki will feel safe with him, too.

Note
Maybe some Todoroki headcannons for falling in love with young s/o and how he tries to woo her?
sure thing bb. since you weren’t too specific with your request, i took a few creative liberties. and, maybe, might have strayed a bit from the prompt…? but i hope you like it! this was also another one that i had SO much fun writing, and, honestly, might write my next fic on this au, haha. *whispers* oh, and please forgive me for the terribly long wait.
(they’re both over the age of 18 to make my life a little easier)
———————————————————————
Pro-Hero Todoroki:
Shoto meets you during an evacuation mission. In the aftermath of a terrible earthquake, he finds you struggling to lift a fallen support beam off of your unconscious friend’s leg, crying for help. Honestly, he hardly pays any attention to you, he’s in full Pro mode and only calmly asks you a few evaluating questions of your friend’s current state before he sets into action, firmly ordering you to evacuate with everyone else. The job is quick and he has your friend’s leg free in less than a minute, handing them off to another Pro while he goes to respond to another cry for help.
And he doesn’t think of you at all until almost a month after the incident. At just the age of twenty-one, he leads a very busy life, already ranked as number ten in the nation and number seventeen worldwide. He’s saved a lot of people and seen millions of faces, you can’t blame him for letting one slip his mind.
It’s one of his rare days off and he decides to meet up with Yaoyorozu for coffee before she leaves for an intel mission in Europe. The cafe isn’t anything fancy, a small low-profile place in downtown Hosu where he knows they’ll be capable of having a peaceful meal to catch up. But there’s something about the barista that takes his order that seems oddly… Familiar, and he can’t for the life of him place what it is.
He’s about to give up trying to figure it out when you approach the table he and Yaoyorozu are sharing.
When you speak your voice is soft and your gaze apprehensive, cheeks dusted in a light shade of pink that has his heart fluttering in a way that’s new and confusing to him. “I-I - uh - I’m sorry if I’m interrupting you two, but I just wanted to thank you, Sh-Shoto, sir, for saving my friend a while back. I’m sure you don’t remember, but you freed my friend’s leg during that earthquake a couple weeks back, a-and I just thought I should thank you for that since they never got the chance to.”
She called me sir.
“Oh, yes, I remember,” he says, mind drawing to a brief stall as he takes you in for maybe a moment longer than he should. He’s received many thank you’s from fans and people he’s saved before, that isn’t what currently has his tongue it’s just - had you always been this pretty? “I thought I recognized you earlier. I’m - I’m glad that I was able to help you and your friend, is their leg alright?”
And that interaction is just the first (or second, really) of many more that follow.
Shoto visits the cafe more frequently now. It still isn’t often, considering his hectic schedule hardly allows enough time for him to sleep and eat on a regular basis, but whenever he gets the chance he goes to that small cozy cafe in downtown Hosu. Because the coffee is good, he tells himself the first few times he goes, even though he spends most of his time sitting at the breakfast bar doing his best to strike up a conversation with you.
Because the barista is beautiful, he finally admits to himself as he sets eyes on you for the umpteenth time during his too-far-to-count-anymore visit.
Shoto is still very much the emotionally clueless boy he was in high school and although he understands his attraction towards you, that doesn’t mean he knows exactly how to go about it. So, for a while, he simply makes it his goal to learn everything he can about you through his visits.
And that goal doesn’t really change when he figures out you’re a nineteen-year-old college student. Sure as hell makes him question his decision for a second, but he ultimately decides that your age had nothing to do with his judgment of your character. Honestly, the fact that you hadn’t ratted him out to the press was enough to tell him you were more than just trustworthy. He still loved talking with you, listening to you go on about what you wanted to do with your life, learning about your passions, your likes and dislikes.
However, it is one of the things that makes him hesitate in asking for your number. He didn’t want you to think he was weird and scare you away or anything. But when he hears he’s going to be leaving the country for a couple of weeks, unable to see you at all, he forces himself to ask during his last visit to the cafe.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” you tell him, a small frown pulling at the corner of your lips, and his chest grows cold. He opens his mouth to mumble out an apology when your face breaks into a shit-eating grin, “I wouldn’t want to be a distraction to the great Shoto Todoroki while he’s on the job. Not trying to be blamed as the reason the world’s precious Icyhot hero never came back home.”
He doesn’t feel much pressure to act older around you, since, for the most part, you two seem to share the same maturity level. You joke around a lot more than he does but he’s decided that has more to do with you not your age. He would be lying if he said he disliked that part of you though. (He loves it.)
Shoto coughs half a laugh and rolls his eyes, “I think I’m more than capable of handling myself at this point. You don’t have to worry about me, especially not when - uh, nevermind, sorry,”
“No, what were you going to say? Especially not when what? You can’t just leave me on a cliffhanger like that!”
He casts a half-hearted glare at you over the lid of his coffee as he takes a long sip, trying to hide his flushed cheeks. “Especially not when I have a reason to come back.” It’s muttered in a low breath, but you still manage to hear it all.
And that’s all it takes for you to scribble down your number on a napkin and shove it into his hand, flushed cheeks puffed out in a pout, mumbling something about how he should warn you before saying stuff like that.
Your relationship progresses slowly, but he admits that he has more to do with you this time than his busy schedule. He just wants to take it slow, he’s still unsure of many things and he understands how different the lives that you lead are. Also, that nagging worrisome feeling that he’s going to scare you away if he moves too quickly is still there, yet he’s still scared you’ll lose interest in him. That you’ll turn him down because you’ve found someone who’s your age with more time to give to you, so he does everything he can to keep you interested and to show that he cares without being too forward about it.
Shoto makes it a point to text you at least once a day to check in on you during his breaks at work and his heart sputters like a choking car engine whenever he sees your name flash across his screen.
He tries his hardest to facetime with you too, that way he can see your face and hear your voice. However, most times it’s really late at night and feels bad for keeping you up when he knows you have school in the morning. Oddly enough though, it’s also when you have your deepest conversations. He’s not sure what it is about the night, but he finds himself opening up to you more, telling you things that he hasn’t told most people he’s close with. And it scares him a little.
That is until one certain late night facetime while he’s away in another country on a mission that has his heart doing a complete 360.
“You’re such a good guy, Shoto. A good hero, not just a good guy. I wish you hadn’t had to endure so much when you were younger, but, I guess, that’s what makes you such a strong and passionate hero. This world is lucky to have you. I’m lucky to have you - uh - In my life, I mean! I-I know we’re not together or anything but - uh - I-It’s just, well, it’s crazy to think that out of all the people you’ve met, that you decided to keep me close to you. And even though you’re only, like, three years older than me, you don’t make it feel that way. I-I mean you make me feel comfortable and I enjoy talking to you, and I appreciate it a lot, really, I do. And I cherish our relationship, w-where-wherever it goes. Always.”
Shoto doesn’t know what to say. You’ve snatched the breath from his lungs and all he can do is stare at you with the most adorably love-stricken expression on his face.
You look away from the phone half a second later, pretending to find something in your lap, that’s out of sight, extremely interesting, but he can still see the red that’s stained your cheeks. At that moment, he wishes with every fiber of his being that he could reach through the phone and kiss you. That he could hold you close and confess every love written thought that’s running through his head because, shit, he hadn’t realized how hard he had fallen for you until now.
“Th-Thank you, Y/n, you don’t know how much that means to me.” He takes a moment to compose himself as you give him a small nod, still embarrassed apparently about what you said. That doesn’t deter him though, in fact, it drives him forward towards his next few words even faster. “When I get home,” he starts again, normally cool voice shaky with apprehension, “will you have dinner with me?”
“You mean, l-like a date?”
Shoto sucks in a deep breath before he nods, “Yes, a date.” He adds quickly, “If that’s alright.”
You look back at the phone looking utterly relieved and taken aback and he’s once again struck with the overwhelming want to kiss you. “Y-yes.” Your grin nearly blinds him. “Yes, Shoto, I would love to have dinner with you.”
Oh, do the tabloids have a field day with that headline. “Pro-Hero Shoto Spotted At Dinner With Young College Student; Should We Be Concerned?” “Shoto’s First Date? She’s How Old?!” “Pro-Hero Shoto Has Discovered His Type”
You especially find the tabloids amusing, taking to occasionally calling him “old man” or “old timer” as a joke. He pretends to be annoyed by it, but you know he thinks its just as funny as you do. Leave it to the press to blow a three year age difference way out of proportion. It’s fine by the both of you though because you have each other, and you both know the true nature of your relationship, which is all that matters.

Their Hero Academia –The Sports Festival: Bonus Round!
Their Hero Academia – Chapter 38: The Sports Festival Part 11: End Credits
Presenting the next raw and unedited chapter of my on-going, next-gen, My Hero Academia fic, Their Hero Academia!
Earlier chapters can be found here
If ever there was going to be a day for Villains to get up to something, Izuku thought, this would have been it.  Some of the highest ranked Heroes in the country were in the VIP box at the Sports Festival stadium, and he knew many more were also in the audience in the stands. In the box with him were Ochaco, Kacchan and Eijiro, Shoto and Momo, Tenya and Mei, Pony, and Tetsutetsu.  Tetsutetsu could have been in the teacher’s box with Itsuka, but with Minoru working, he had volunteered to accompany Pony.
Izuku was glad that Mirio had agreed to take watch in the Agency today, so that he could attend. Mom was here too, in the teacher’s box with Dad.  Some of his other friends were in the stands too, like Hitoshi and Camie and Mashiro and Toru.  Others were working or watching on TV at home.
Down in front of them, his youngest daughter, Mako, sat on the floor with Kacchan’s youngest, Tai. The two were only a few months apart in age and had been good friends pretty much their entire lives.  His middle daughter, Hana, stood in the back of the room, barely looking up from her cellphone.  He should probably have said something, but that was an uphill battle and he wasn’t really interested in fighting it today.
“Big Sister’s going to win!” Tai said.
“Nuh-uh!” Mako countered, crossing her arms.  “You’re wrong, Tai!  Toshi’s going to win!”
“Nuh-uh!”
“Uh-huh!”
“Nuh-uh!”
“Uh-huh!”
“Hey.”  Before Izuku could speak up, Kacchan had, bending down next to the two five year olds.  He put a hand on each of their shoulders.  “What did I tell you, Tai?”
The little blond looked up at his dad, thinking for a moment.  “That… it doesn’t matter who wins, so long as everybody does their best?”
“Right,” Kacchan said, giving both children a smile.  “So it’s okay to want Katsumi or Toshi to win.  But you shouldn’t fight about it, okay?”
“Okay,” Tai said.
“Okay,” Mako added.
“Good,” Kacchan said, before returning to his seat.
Ochaco turned her head to look at Kacchan.  “That was some pretty Plus Ultra parenting, Katsuki,” she said.  They were pretty lucky overall.  Mako was about as well-behaved as you could expect from a five year old girl and Toshi had been an incredibly stress free child to raise (except for the part when his Quirk had come in and they’d had to tie him to his bed to keep him from floating off in his sleep).  Hana was their biggest problem and even that was more teenage moodiness than anything.
“Of course it was,” Kacchan said.  “I’m good at everything.  Why wouldn’t I be good at parenting?”
“Very manly pareting, Bakubabe,” Eijiro said, sitting on Kacchan’s left, next to Izuku.
Izuku laughed at that. Some things never changed.
“You just keep on believing that,” Shoto said, sitting on the other side of Kacchan.
“What’s that supposed to mean, IcyHot?”
“I think you know what it means.”
“Oh, it is good to see you both!”  A new voice interrupted them and from behind, huge arms wrapped themselves around Shoto and Kacchan.
“You?” Kacchan growled, trying to slip out of the big man’s grasp.  “What’re you doing here?  You kid doesn’t even go to this school!”
Inasa just laughed. “Are you kidding?” he asked.  “I love U.A.!”
“Oh.  Yoarashi.  How… good… to see you.”  Shoto was trying to look pleased, but failing miserably at it. Inasa didn’t notice though.  He never did.  No matter how much Kacchan or Shoto tried to express their displeasure with him, he just assumed they were friends.
Not surprising that he’d gotten an invitation, though.  He was the Number Five Hero currently, even if he wasn’t a U.A. graduate.
“Besides,” Inasa added, “my son really wanted to see his girlfriend compete!  How could I say no?”
“Someone’s dating that psychotic cyclone you call a kid?” Kacchan asked.
“Yes!” Inasa bellow. “I haven’t met her yet, but he talks about her constantly!  I believe her name is Mika!”
Pony perked up at that. “Oh!  Then you must be Shinji’s dad!  Come sit by me!  We should talk… especially since Minny doesn’t know about him yet.”
“If you are all done,” Tenya said, standing, arms chopping through the air, “the Festival is about to start!  May I suggest you all pay our children and their classmates the attention they deserve?”
Izuku settled in, taking Ochaco’s hand in his.  Something told him this was going to be an amazing show.
***
“So anyway,” Eijiro said, “I decided to do one of those DNA ancestry things, ‘cause, you know, I only really know about one of my moms for bio family.  Turns out somebody with the same bio-dad as me did too!  I’ve got a half-brother out there somewhere!”
“Bro!” Tetsutetsu piped up, from the other end of the row.  “That’s so weird! I did the same thing, and it turns out I’ve got a half-brother too!  What a coincidence!  That’s just freaky!”
Izuku watched as Kacchan looked between his husband and Tetsutetsu.  He’d known his friend long enough to see the war going on behind his eyes. He was considering whether or not to say anything and what he’d have to deal with if he did.   There was a quiet, tense moment in the room.
“Yeah,” Kacchan added eventually, “really flipping weird.”
Pony gave her former classmate a funny look.  “Maybe… you two are brothers?” she tried.
Tetsutetsu laughed hard at that, slapping a hand against his knee.  “Oh, that’s a good one, Pony!  Can you imagine that, Eijiro?”
Eijiro laughed just as loud. “Real good one,” he agreed. “We’re a lot alike, Pony, but brothers? Nah.  That’s just silly.”
“But…” Pony began.
Kacchan locked eyes with her.  “Just let it go.”
“Guys,” Izuku interrupted, “look!”
Below, on the obstacle course, one of his son’s classmates, Isamu Haimawari, was racing across the finish line, with several of the others not far behind.  It wans’t long before they crossed.  As each of their kids crossed the finish line, cheers went up from the parents.
“So that’s the kid Izumi was talking about,” Shoto said.  “Pretty impressive speed.”
“Strange,” Tenya said. “His Quirk reminds me of something my brother once told me, but I cannot place where…”
“Fast guy, that’s for sure,” Mei agreed.  “Bet he could use some better gear though…”
“Not everything requires additional gear, Mei, useful though it may be.”
“You take that back right now, Tenya, or you’re sleeping on the couch.”
“I…” Tenya sputtered. “…Yes, dear.”
“Quite the display of teamwork,” Momo noted.
“I noticed that too,” Izuku agreed.  “They combined mobility-based Quirks with offensive power, letting them watch each other’s backs while still moving forward.  Not a one hundred percent one to one match, but I think they mostly compensated pretty well…  Might have been a little better to align both Twins with someone with Quirk with more of a projectile Quirk to clear the way, but…”
Ochaco gave his hand a squeeze.  “Deku?” she said.  “You’re muttering.”
He felt a little bit of a blush spread to his cheeks.  “Oops. Sorry.”
“Once a dweeb, always a dweeb,” Kacchan said.  He shook his head.  “The team-up thing had to be Toshi’s idea.  Your kid’s always thinking about other people.”
Izuku felt a stirring of pride.  That did sound like Toshi.  Ever since he was little, he’d always been looking out for his friends and sisters. “Yeah, you’re probably right. Good strategy… but I think they’re in for an earful from Aizawa over it.”
Hana actually looked up from her phone for a minute.  “Dork actually came up with a pretty good plan.  Surprising.”
***
As Quirkball got underway, Shoto leaned over so he could look around Kacchan.  “You know,” he said, “I heard a rumor about this year’s Hero Class.”
Izuku turned his attention away from the field for a moment.  He hadn’t heard any rumors, but he also admitted that sometimes, he was a little disconnected from things.  An unfortunate happenstance created by some of the distance that came with being the Number One Hero.  “Oh?” he asked.  “What’s that?”
He could have sworn he was something in Shoto’s eyes, but decided it was just his imagination.  “I have heard that one of the kids in this year’s crop of Hero students is secretly Deku’s child.”
Instantly, he felt Ochaco’s grip on his hand grow tighter.   “What?” she asked.  Despite having no reason to, Izuku suddenly felt in great fear for his life.
“Oh, yes,” Shoto said, his voice even and unchanging.  “Just a rumor of course, but it seems quite plausible.”
He paused for a moment, then went on.  “My money is on the girl with the purple hair and horns.”
There was a silent moment, before it was broken by Pony’s braying laughter.  Ochaco’s grip on his hand relaxed slightly and he could feel circulation return to his fingers.
“Shoto,” Ochaco growled, “that was terrible!”
“I’ve been trying to work on my jokes,” he replied.
Next to Shoto, Momo was burying her head in her hands.  She finally looked up.   “I must apologize for him…”
Izuku waved it off, a smile tugging on his lips as he thought back to his first Sports Festival and the accusations Shoto had hurled at him then.  He might not have been All Might’s love child, but Toshinori had become his father in every way that counted a few years later.  Something that hadn’t gone uncommented on by Shoto at the time either.
“Leave the comedy to somebody with a sense of humor, IcyHot,” Kacchan growled.  “’cause you sure ain’t funny.”
“Be nice, Bakubabe,” Eijiro said, giving Kacchan a playful punch in the arm.
“It was only a joke, Bakugo,” Shoto said.  “No reason to… explode.”
“Was that a fucking pun?!”
“Bakugo!” Tenya shouted. “Control your language!  There are children present!”
***
Izuku was impressed with what he had seen so far.  As a parent, of course, he was most focused on Toshi, but all the students who had made it through the first two rounds had done amazingly.  Lots of General Studies students who’d made it through the first round too, which was always good, even if only one of them had made it to the Tournament round.   Kocho was definitely skilled; he wondered how she wasn’t in the Hero Course to begin with.  Maybe he’d talk to Dad about it later.  What he’d seen so far was pretty impressive.  It was ultimately the faculty’s decision, but the word from a seasoned Pro Hero like him would go pretty far.
It was when Izumi and Katsumi came up to fight that things got tense.
“Okay,” he said.  “We knew this was going to happen.  Everybody relax.  Remember, the kids are all friends and this is just a friendly competition.”
Nevertheless, he could see Shoto and Kacchan were shooting each other uneasy glances already and not a single blow had been thrown.
Eijiro leaned forward in his seat.  “Is she… giving up?”
“Why would she not want to fight Izumi?” Shoto asked, rubbing his chin.
“…I’m sure she has her reasons,” Momo said, and Izuku was glad for it.  Shoto was… not good at interpreting relationships.  It was enough of a dodge that none of them had to explain it to him.
“How unsportsmanlike!” Tenya yelled.  “She is doing Izumi a great dishonor!”
Kacchan leaned forward to. “C’mon, kid.  Remember what I taught you…”
Fortunately for all involved, it looked like Katsumi was going to fight after all.
“All right!” Eijiro yelled, jumping up from his seat.  “Kick her ass, Honey!”
That got him a horrified look from Momo.  “Eijiro! How could you say something like that?!”
Eijiro plopped back down in his seat, looking embarrassed.  “Sorry,” he said.  “I got carried away.”
“I can’t look!” Inasa lamented, hand over his eyes.  “The children of two of my best friends!  How can I decide who to root for?!”
“Root for my daughter!” Kacchan growled.  “You all better be rooting for her!  It’s her first fight!”
“It’s Izumi’s too,” Shoto corrected him.
“Shut up, IcyHot! She’s gonna kick your kid’s ass!”
“I doubt that.”
“You wanna bet?!”
“Shoto… Kacchan…” Izuku began, getting up just in case he had to separate them.  This was going to be tense.
***
“Oh, that’s going be awkward,” Izuku said, as they watched Toshi and Sora Iida take the field to fight each other.
“Look at our baby!” Mei yelled, wrapping her arms around Tenya.  “I’m so proud of her!  She’s gonna kick his ass!”
Tenya frowned.  “Mei, while the spirit of competition should be embraced, you can at least be civil about it…”
The pink-haired inventor shrugged.  “I said what I said.”
“We haven’t really talked about the fact that the kids are dating, have we?” Ochaco asked.  “How’re you holding up with both of yours dating, Tenya?”
Izuku was certain he saw a slight twitch to Tenya’s left eye.  Tenya lived what was, to all outside appearances, a very stressful life, with his mad scientist wife and equally excitable children, but he seemed very content and always spoke glowingly of them all.  Perhaps the chaos was welcome in his otherwise structured and ordered life.
“It has been… challenging,” Tenya said after a moment, “to realize just how much they are growing. I trust Toshi to be a perfect gentleman, of course, and I am trying to think kindly of Takuma.”
“Better not let Mina hear you say that,” Izuku replied.  “But I appreciate the vote of confidence.  Assuming they don’t break up over this, I know Toshi will treat Sora right.”
He admitted, he’d been surprised when Toshi had told them about it.  Their son had always gotten along fine with all of the other kids, male or female, but had always seemed a bit nervous around female attention. Granted, a lot of that had come from Mika Mineta, who would make just about anybody nervous…
“Well, at least Sora’s first Sports Festival will not go like mine did,” Tenya said.  Finding out his brother had been brutally assaulted… Yeah, that probably colored his memories some.
“Well, it was when I first started thinking about you, Tenny,” Mei told him.  “So it ain’t all bad.”
Tenya blushed at that. “There is also that,” he agreed.
“We should get together some time, though,” Izuku said.  “See if Mina and Hanta want to come.  Get together with the kids.”
“Oh, that’s a great idea, Deku!” Ochaco said.  “It’ll be like a quintuple date!  Mina will love it!”
There was that twitch of Tenya’s again…
“Toshi’s doing better than I did too,” Izuku said.  “No broken bones!  And he’s really picked up some of Gran’s style…”
***
“Oh, you should have seen her, honey!” Pony said into her phone.  “She was amazing!  Yes, love you too.  We’ll watch it together tonight!”
There were a lot of words to describe Mika Mineta’s first fight in the Tournament, but Izuku wasn’t exactly sure that “amazing” was one of them.  She’d certainly outwitted her opponent, but it was hard to exactly call it a “clean” win.  All was fair game, he supposed, but some of the things that had come out of her mouth…
Inasa grinned broadly. “I see what my son sees in her! Such a lively young lady!”
Pony hung up the phone. “Minny has a big blind spot where Mika is concerned,” she said.  “But I’m not sure it’s big enough for this.  That is going to be a very awkward conversation.”
Next to her, Tetsutetsu just laughed.  “She really does take after him, doesn’t she?  You really turned that guy around, Pony.”
The horned-woman shrugged at that.  “Minny just needed somebody who wasn’t going to immediately reject him.  Maybe he kind of tricked me the first time, but he proved he was a sweetheart underneath it.  …And also really good with his hands and tongue and other things.”
Kacchan looked like he was going to explode.  “I could have gone my whole life without hearing that.”
Pony frowned and carried on like she hadn’t heard him,  “But Mika spends a lot of her time thinking about boys.  And girls.  And everything and everyone in-between.  I worry it might get her into trouble someday.”
“She’s not nearly as bad as he was,” Momo said, from the other end of the row of chairs.  If anyone was certified to speak up on it, it would be her.  Momo had been the target of Minoru’s unwanted attentions and worse more than anyone.  “Mika’s got her problems, but at least she’s not a lawsuit waiting to happen.”
Ochaco nodded along. “No offense, Pony, but before he met you, he was, well, I don’t think any of us liked him very much.”
“I know,” she said. “He told me all of this, when we started to get serious.”
“Pretty manly of him, owning up to everything,” Eijiro admitted.
“You’re still planning on giving her an offer, right, Tenya?” Pony asked, big eyes hopeful and wide.
“I am,” Tenya agreed. “I will do my best to give her some more rigorous discipline, but I can make no promises.”
Pony nodded at that. “I hate to do anything to dampen her spirit, but she’s going to need to buckle down eventually.  Even Minny figured that one out.”
“Your kid’s a freak,” Kacchan said, drawing an angry squawk from Pony and stares of disapproval from everyone else.  “But she’s fighting with everything she’s got.  That’s something to be proud of.”
Leave it to Kacchan to get straight to the point…
***
“Who the hell is this kid?” Kacchan growled, as they watched Isamu Haimawari dodge more of Izumi’s attacks.  He waved a hand in the vague direction of the arena.  “Skills like that don’t just come out of nowhere! Who’s been teaching him?!”
Izuku put a hand on his chin, watching as the young man zipped around the ring.  “I’m sure I’ve read about something with that kind of Quirk before,” he said.  “Not a Pro-Hero though, but then where?  Maybe a Vigilante?  I didn’t really follow those, but sometimes they were pretty hard to ignore…”
Where had he seen a Quirk like that before?  High mobility, yes, but also some kind of adhesion?  And some kind of repulsive force?  Very versatile, that was for sure.  And it was easy to see why Toshi spoke so highly of Haimawari. Without wanting to brag too much… their kids all had quite the advantage and leg up over a lot of the other students. That he was competing on their level was a testament to his dedication.
But it definitely meant he’d had someone training him, someone who knew what they were doing.
Either way, the kid looked like he was going to go far.  Izuku was impressed, to be sure.  And it was looking like the bookies were going to be mad at him again…
“I could swear, I remember my brother mentioning the name Haimawari once or twice too,” Tenya said.
Izuku looked over at Shoto and Momo.  Both of them were leaning forward slightly, holding hands, tension radiating off of both of them.  He didn’t blame them.  Izumi’s childhood illness after her exposure to…   No, not the time or the place to be reflecting on it.  But he couldn’t begrudge them their concern.  She’d nearly died as a child and still suffered lingering effects.  She’d done amazing well so far, making it to the Top Eight finalists.  And even after collapsing after fighting Katsumi, she’d managed to get back in the fight.
That girl had real courage, that was for sure.
“C’mon on, Izumi,” Momo said quietly, “you can do this…”
Which was when Haimawari barreled into Izzy, sending them both tumbling until she came to rest with her head just outside the ring.
Shoto was on his feet in an instant.  “That rat bastard!  I’ll kill him!  How dare he lay a hand on her!”
Momo was on her feet too, equally agitated, but her face lined with worry.  “Is she…?”
There was a breathless moment as they all waited to see what had happened to Izumi, broken only when Haimawari helped her to her feet.
“What a fight!” Insana yelled, so loudly and suddenly that it nearly jolted Pony out of her seat.
“Such a manly display!” Eijiro and Tetsutetsu both shouted, both jumping out of their seats, their body language nearly identicial.
“She didn’t pass out!” Momo yelled, relief blooding into her voice.  “She’s all right!  She’s all right!”   Tears filled her eyes as she pulled Shoto into a tight hug.
“She did good,” Shoto agreed, quietly.  He wasn’t nearly as emotional as his wife, but for someone who had known him as long as Izuku had, he was just as relieved and nearly on the verge of tears himself.
“I thought…” Momo went on, “I thought, when she wanted to keep fighting, that we were making the wrong choice letting her.  I guess I missed just how strong she is.”
“We both did,” Shoto agreed. “I talked you into it… but I wasn’t nearly as sure as I sounded.  Guess we’ve raised a pretty remarkable young Hero.”
They sure had, Izuku thought.  They sure had.
***
The results were in. Toshi sharing Third Place with Koharu Kocho, Mika Mineta in Second, and Isamu Haimawari in First.
“<She did it!>” Pony yelled, jumping up and down excitedly, possibly unaware she’d slipped back into using English.  “<Second place!  Did you see, Tetsu?  Did you see?>”
“We saw, Pony,” Tetsutetsu said.  “We saw! Don’t worry!”
Inasa let out a laugh. “Amazing!  What a fantastic upset this year!  Where else but U.A.?!”
“Yay, Toshi!” Mako said, dancing happily.  Next to her, Tai was cheering too.  Izuku looked over and he was pretty sure he even saw Hana crack a smile.
“I don’t flippin’ believe it,” Kacchan growled.  “This is one for the record books.”
“Believe it, Kacchan,” Izuku said.  “You know as well I do anything can happen at the Sports Festival.”
Up to and including maybe him breaking his rule about scouting highly placed finishers…

Coming of Age
University wasn’t necessary for them. It was a weird thing, honestly, in this day and age in Japan. With heroes and Quirks rampant and in abundance, a lot of schools that offered hero tracks still recommended a university education immediately following.
But not UA students. The best of the best. Almost always guaranteed internships with hero agencies, the likelihood going up if they did well in the sports festivals throughout the years, and the provisional licensing exams.
Lucky for Bakugou Katsuki, he did well at everything. And now that the legal age in Japan was eighteen, and he was literally days away from turning said age, he was...
He’d never admit he was unsure about what was coming next. He already had internships lined up—maybe not as many as Deku or Icyhot—so it wasn’t like he was worried about his opportunities. He wasn’t thinking he was making the wrong choice not going to university. He was a hero. He was going to be a hero. He was going to beat everyone and be the number one hero if it killed him—or someone else.
But besides the hardheaded idiot that hadn’t stopped following him around since first year, and his old hag mom who for whatever reason always had his back, Bakugou felt....alone.
He tried not to let it bother him, and he was sure it didn’t have anything to do with the fact that Deku always got everything.
And this wasn’t about internships or All Might’s damn powers.
Well.
Not anymore.
No, it was about....her.
////
The alarm rang in his bedroom. Graduation was done. Bakugou was back home until his internship began and he was boarded by the company who had chosen him. They were willing to work with his wildness, and three years of Aizawa-sensei giving him dorm-cleaning duty for each ridiculously outrageous bout of angry fighting had mellowed him. Some.
But Bakugou didn’t want to get up today. He didn’t want to be eighteen. He had been preparing for this his whole life. He was intelligent, and sincerely wanted to be a hero. He was ready for the responsibility of it. But the anger and insecurity still burned deep inside him.
He never thought he’d add loneliness to that list.
“Kuso,” he growled to himself as he turned off the alarm and picked up his phone. His damn stupid, sentimental classmates were already sending him birthday texts. Kirishima, Kaminari, even Icyhot had managed a cultured, stoic many happy returns.
Pretentious hot-cold asshole. “Just say happy birthday, teme,” he grumbled at his phone and then slammed it down.
Nothing from her yet. But she was probably being paraded around by Deku like some trophy china doll. Being showered with his stupid, overthought gifts and blabbed at about all of his ridiculous hero analyses and theories.
He groaned and massaged his face, roughly, his hands falling back down to his sides, his palms making irritated little sparks as he thought about her stupid, ridiculous, annoyingly pretty round face stretched in a moronically romanced smile at Deku’s lame attempt at existence.
All Might’s power, Bakugou’s dream school of UA, more internships than him even though he won the sports festivals almost ever year. And now her.
Deku really did get everything.
Squeezing his hands into fists to stop the sparks, Bakugou climbed out of bed and got into the shower, ignoring his mother yelling down the hall that she was making him a special birthday breakfast whether he liked it or not.
In all honesty, he had started liking her first year, though he’d all but denied it then. She was strong—she put up a fight when no one else had. She had a reason to fight, a purpose. She wasn’t just a frail girl.
He’d pushed those feelings down at first, swallowed them, pretty much assuming by the fact that she was attached to Deku’s hip that she’d just end up his girl. And honestly, Bakugou had no time for any of that if he was going to be the best.
But as the years at UA had trekked on, he found himself paired off with her a lot more than he’d anticipated. In fact, if she wasn’t with Deku, she was with him. And when she was with Deku, she was usually also with Four Eyes, too. The truth was, she chose to be alone with Bakugou more than ever with the other two, doing tasks around the dorms together, sparring together, doing projects together (if and when Deku or Four Eyes couldn’t.)
And she had the stupidly annoying habit of constantly talking to him about Deku, or asking his advice about being a hero, or talking about her parents. And she had the damned nerve to ask the same of him, as if she actually cared as her stupid, annoying, adorable round cheeks stretched into a curious smile, and all while becoming Deku’s girl?!
Bakugou punched the bathroom tile and flipped the shower off with a harsh creak as he stepped out and threw a towel around his waist with a growl and a curse. It wasn’t fair. He just wanted to graduate and become the best. He didn’t need any emotions getting in the way—even if she was his perfect girl (both his equal and his opposite in all the best ways).
He didn’t need to go into eighteen feeling both accomplished and lonely as hell.
He was snapped from his thoughts when he heard someone knock on the bathroom door. He whipped the door open, expecting his mom trying to force her rubbery eggs on him (which wasn’t at all true; she was a wonderful cook and she’d taught him.)
Instead, he found a stupidly, annoyingly, irritatingly beautiful round face staring back at him, framed perfectly by the swoop of her dumb brown hair that somehow managed to make her look even more incredibly pretty and always smelled like fruit.
It was her.
“Marui kao,” he breathed in surprise—‘round face’.
Uraraka Ochako smiled back at him, her hands clasped behind her back, her round, pink cheeks flushing an even darker shade. “Konnichiwa, Bakugou-kun...um, you’re...in a towel...”
Bakugou, who couldn’t stop his guard from dropping around her, also blushed and scoffed, rolling his eyes. “You’re the dumbass who knocked on my bathroom door. Chotto matte.” He stepped down the hall, and into his bedroom, emerging ten minutes later in a pair of jeans and a black v-neck, his biceps pushing on the seam of the tee’s sleeves. “What are you doing here, kao?”
“I have an internship interview today but I wanted to give you this in person. It’s important,” she said, and her hands finally came from behind her and held up a black gift bag, a red card barely peeking over the top edge. “Happy birthday.”
Bakugou’s eyes widened, and he froze for a moment, trying to register that not only has she bought him a birthday gift but she had gone out of her way to deliver it in person. “I—“
He never finished the half-formed thought when Uraraka checked her watch and looked up at him, “I have to go. I hope you like it. See you soon.” She smiled and turned, rushing back down the hall the way she came. He watched her back, heard her compliment the scent of his mom’s cooking, and then finally the sound of the door closing behind her.
Sitting down at the table, he cursed at his mother when she shoved a plate of breakfast in front of him. He ignored the food and pulled out the card from the bag, opening it and pulling out the note.
Katsuki,
It’s not how you think it is with Deku-kun.
Please come meet me tonight.
Happy birthday.
-Ochako
Bakugou pulled his gift out of his bag, and despite his usual steely, aggressive behavior, his face stretched into its usual grin—if not a little warmer—and he dug into his mother’s eggs, unsurprised when they were, in fact, delicious.

The UA stadium was quiet at night, and technically Uraraka wasn’t supposed to be there, as she was no longer a student, or competing in a festival.
She heard the heavy footfalls coming up the pathway into the seats behind her, and she would’ve been worried, except she was Uravity and the steps were familiar.
“You found me,” she said as she smiled at Bakugou when he approached her, sitting down in a seat next to her.
Bakugou scoffed, and then smirked. “This is the first place we ever fought. Figured if you have something important to tell me, it’d be here.” His red eyes turned and looked at her, a fang-like tooth visible in his grin—a little cocky, a little friendly and warm. “You’re mushy like that, kao.”
“And how do you know I’m going to say something mushy, hm?” She asked with a smirk of her own, still looking out at the dark stadium, remembering their first fight fondly.
He held up the note, and his birthday present—a small vile on a piece of twine with little gray rocks in it. “You know, I know everyone expects me to be a dumbass, but symbolism isn’t lost on me. I just ain’t IcyHot or Deku, where I outwardly analyze that shit every second of my life.”
“They aren’t the rocks you blasted away during our fight, but I was hoping you’d get the gist,” she said, her brown eyes sliding and meeting his. “Thought you could use some good luck before you started your internship. A reminder of how strong you are and have become. And a reminder I could still surpass you.”
He snorted and rolled his eyes. “Sure. Is that all you wanted to sa—“
He was cut off when she grabbed him by the edges of his jacket and pulled him in, their lips meeting heatedly, battling, moving together, learning each other, before she released him with a small sigh, and looked away.
Bakugou was quiet, speechless, and then he cleared his throat. “Your note.”
She nodded. “Deku-kun is my best friend. But he isn’t my boyfriend. Those are rumors started by tabloids because Deku-kun being All Night’s actual successor is such a big story right now. Him getting scouted and offered internships is big news and we’re always together but I didn’t want you to think that because the truth is, even though I liked Deku-kun in first year, the more you and I were together, the more i—“
She was cut off by him, suddenly, her small, powerful body being pulled roughly into his lap, and his lips finding hers again, the battle commending for several moments before his mouth released hers and his lips tugged upward in a triumphant smirk. “So you’re telling me I best that damn bastard Deku?”
Uraraka rolled her eyes. “If you say it like that, I’m dumping you on the spot.”
Bakugou laughed outright and pressed a warm, sweet kiss to her shoulder through her shirt. “Fine. But I still won.” He tightened his muscled arms around her and mumbled something.
“What was that?”
Bakugou rested his cheek against hers. “Said I think this is a better win than any top internship,” he repeated, and smiled against her skin, “but that never leaves this stadium, marui kao. Never.”
Uraraka’s face brightened affectionately, and damn, if she didn’t look pretty. Stupidly, annoyingly pretty. She touched his spiky hair, lifted his chin with her gentle, powerful fingers, and pecked his lips—a silent thank you for the compliment of being that important to him. She kissed him again, and again, and again, each peck a thank you for the years of friendship and putting up with her. A promise that his soft side would stay between them.
And then, with her stupidly pretty smile, and her annoyingly pretty round cheeks, and her amazingly, incredibly prettt voice, she leaned in, hugged his shoulders tightly, and whispered,
“Happt birthday, Katsuki.”

Not sure if you’re okay with angst BUT could I have a soul crushing angst scenario with our lovely Todo baby? (Shouto x quirkless reader) So basically the reader and Shouto are on a date and some villains attack the area, they surround him and his girl but he easily defeats them and gets them to a safe place (idk maybe Midoriya or Bakugou watch over her? They’re like friends and stuff?) after a kiss goodbye he rushes off to where he’s needed, after everything’s over he hears - pt 1

More Than You Know
Word Count: 1k
What was supposed to be a day of jovial fun and excitement took a vivid turn for the worst in a matter of seconds.
They were surrounded completely in front of the smoke-filled restaurant, (Y/N) clutching onto Shouto’s shirt like a lifeline. In a way, it was.
Whereas the girl was practically hyperventilating due to her inability to help, the dual-haired hero remained calm, scanning and analyzing the villains surrounding them.
They sure aren’t strong, seeing as one of the villain’s has a long nose and that’s it, but they aren’t the main event. Most likely they were sent to slow down any heroes on break.
Stomping his foot onto the concrete ground, he sends beams of ice in every direction, effectively throwing off all surrounding villains in the path. What might seemed safe for the time being won’t stay that way for long, Todoroki knew that all too well.
“Oi, IcyHot, you done here?”
Whipping his head around, he’s met with the eyes of his fiery classmate of many years, geared up and ready to fight. Glancing at his love from the side of his eyes, a quick decision was concluded the minute he saw the opportunity.
“Bakugou, take (Y/N) and go.”
“Wait what?” the said girl exclaimed frantically, refusing to leave his side. She grew even more frenetic when she saw Bakugou nod.
“Go with him and I’ll catch up to you later,” he tells her gently, placing a soft kiss on her forehead before turning away.
“Wait, Shouto!” she screams in Bakugou’s grasp, trying her best to pry away from him in a frenzied panic. What would happen to him? Could he die?
He doesn’t respond, doesn’t even look back. All he does is sigh in disbelief as he runs farther and farther away from her.

The adrenaline pumps through his veins and he can feel his heart throb in panic. The cries of ‘Shouto, Shouto!’ left a scarring imprint in his mind as he almost shudders at the thought.
He can’t even feel his legs anymore as he sprints near the panicked voice with lightning speed. The moment he heard a burst of flames and gasoline boom right after those screams, his heart dropped.
When he was met by piles of rubble and debris, his breath escaped him. He can’t see anything but ash and dust floating wildly around him. Bakugou and (Y/N) were nowhere to be seen. Goosebumps prickle his skin, a jolt of panic running down his spine. He was almost too scared to move.
Urging himself to walk, that (Y/N) needs him, he found the strength to take slow and cautious steps.
A streak of orange and black enters his peripheral vision, paralyzing him on the spot before he makes a full on sprint towards the male. He wanted, no, needed, to see her. To be assured that she’s alright. That the voice calling his name wasn’t hers.
His eyes land on the figure Bakugou was cradling in his arms, battered and doll-like, and he falls limp. All of a sudden, nothing matters anymore. He wanted to be angry at him. He wanted to drag him by the collar and ask him why he didn’t protect her. All those cries of profanities and rage fell short once he sees the large gash on his arm. Bakugou tried, but trying was not enough.
“Is…” he barely manages to choke out. “Is she dea—“
“No.” Bakugou shifts (Y/N)’s body so her head can rest against the crook of the blond’s neck. “Not yet.”
A large bruise with a nasty color of purple and green covered her bicep area, a fresh bleed on her head. Despite the calm facade the dual-haired boy has on, his mind was in shambles. His labored breaths and twitching fingers gave away more than intended as the noise of sirens blare through the shattered streets.
If only had he looked back at her once more would he have seen the look of sheer terror in her glassy eyes.

“She’s stabilized for now…” the doctor reassures him, scribbling some things onto his clipboard. “If her stats drop even by two, call us in.”
Even when he leaves, Shouto doesn’t look up. With his hands on the back of his head, his eyes focus in on every tiny line on the hospital floor, tracing long roads and sharp turns.
“I love you,” he whispers out, his hands finding hers. “I really love you.”
Only she didn’t stir. Like a porcelain doll. her eyes remained closed as if she were dead. The rhythmic beeps of her monitor—thankfully—says otherwise.
“Shouto,” a small voice whimpers out. Her eyes are closed but her brows are furrowed, laboring breaths indicating her struggling state.
“Hey, I’m right here,” he coos, sitting up and joining her on the hospital bed. Pulling her close, euphoria swelling his chest, gentle fingers draw soft circles on the part of her shoulder that the hospital gown could not cover. “I’m not going anywhere.”
“My head hurts,” she whispers daintily, trying her best to sit upright but to no avail.
Shouto does her the favor instead and cushions her head against where his shoulder and neck met and closed his eyes.
“You’re okay,” he breathes out in the smallest of tones. “Right?”
“Yeah.”
He feels her timid not against the crook of his neck, hands pressed against his firm chest. The same small, delicate hands that wiped away falling tears every time he cried. The same ones that fought and fought despite her having no quirk. The same hands that were wrapped in bandages.
When he heard small sniffles, he didn’t open his blue and grey orbs. He only gave her a small squeeze of reassurance, but how was that supposed to convey the outburst of emotions swelling within the two of them?
For the umpteenth time, he pulls her closer, if that was even possible. Listening to her steady breathing, his eyes start to close due to the fatigue of worry.
“Shouto.”
His eyes snap open, head lulling to the side to the side to get a better look at her (E/C) eyes.
Her eyes that holds so much more than her soul. So much more than what a quirk could offer.
Before she could finish her sentence, he cuts her off with one of his own.
“I love you more than you know.”
this took way too long to get out and I’m really sorry. I’ve been struggling to find motivation lately and i’m really, really sorry to all those who have sent in a request. I assure you though, I have not forgotten about them and currently have 7 requests left. A lot of life has been slapping me across my face and I really hope you all understand if I take a long time to get requests out. again, i’m really really sorry if I haven’t been on my game lately!
