Sugar Daddy Boxer! Bakugo Katsuki x college student gn!reader
Tags: Age gap! Bakugo is 27, reader is 22. fluff, protective bakugo, attentive bakugo, he's a boxer because I said so <3
Bro i finished this with my wrist bandaged up. The things I'd do for my anime men.
Pt 2. Pt 3
Feel free to send in requests/prompts for this AU!
"Babydoll."
....
"Babydoll."
You finally hummed, unwrapping the woollen scarf that pillowed your face. It did an amazing job to keep you warm in the cold abyss of the early morning winter but was useless in your boyfriend's heated sports car.
You let yourself unfurl, letting the warmth melt you.
"Did you sleep properly?"
"Yeah." you said with a yawn, ready to turn your brain off again.
"I'm gonna ask you how many hours and you're telling me the truth."
You made eye contact with Katsuki, who still hadn't left the front of your building mind you, and reached out for your morning kisses.
"First, answer then kisses."
You whined and squirmed before huffing into stillness when you realised he was too mean to give into you.
"Six hours."
Katsuki's already furrowed eyebrows furrowed even more but he leaned forward to kiss your puckered lips. They were warm and firm and tasted like strawberry chapstick. And the hint of your cologne wafted through you, making you sigh into him.
Katsuki tugged your lower lip into his mouth, suckling on it before letting go and kissing the corner of your lips.
"We agreed on eight, baby."
"I was doing my homework, silly."
"Was this before or after your fanfiction reading time?"
You grinned, pawing at his chest as you leaned in for another chaste kiss.
"Look at you learning, old man. It was before."
Katsuki rolled his eyes, squeezing your thigh with his rough hand before finally deciding to start the car.
"Where do you wanna get breakfast from? You're not getting a coffee, by the way."
"Excuse m---"
"Nuh uh, little one." Katsuki looked at you with an eyebrow raise. "You didn't sleep as much as you should've and it already makes you jittery."
You crossed your arms and huffed, burying yourself deeper into the leather. And you knew that you'd just say something stupid and get yourself in even more trouble, so your mouth stayed shut. Katsuki didn't bother asking again, already knowing that there was a chocolate croissant and Acai bowl that had you hooked.
He made his way into the store quickly, your body not ready to get out to the fanged monster that the winter brought. And it meant you got the wonderful opportunity to see people actively stare at your boyfriend.
It didn't matter when he didn't even bother making eye contact, hands deep in his pockets and resting bitch face on. Two boys came up to him in an excited manner that wasn't fit for early morning. And while Bakugo scowled harder, he still had the courtesy to give them his autograph. You knew that if they weren't highschool students, he'd tell them to fuck off. Bakugo never became aggressive with kids.
Once the order was handed to him, he slipped the tip into the jar at the counter. And since the man never carried change, the barista's face had twisted into shell shock. But Bakugo didn't even acknowledge it and left the premises, making his way back to you.
You were handed the croissant and Acai bowl, nose filling with pleasant scents that warmed you even further into the seat. Katsuki took a sip of his black coffee before handing you your own cup.
"It's very much decaf but I know you like your caramel macchiato."
You squealed at the gesture, not surprised that he was soft for you, and leaned in to give a big wet smooch to his cheek. His smile was evident, even when he tried to keep it hidden.
"I need to stop spoiling you."
He never did.
By the time you'd finished your drink and croissant, your uni had come into view. And as always, some people eyed the Chevrolet Corvette that your boyfriend drove. black exterior glittering in the morning sun.
After a couple affectionate kisses littered across Bakugo's face and a very long kiss on the lips, you got out of your car in your sweats and puffer jacket.
Your friends were waiting by the entrance, having come at the same time, they greeted you while eyeing the car. They knew it belonged to your boyfriend but they never knew what your boyfriend even did to be sports car rich.
"Hello, my children," You muttered out, blinking slowly as you put your scarf over your nose.
"Hey, dude. How did your--" One of your friends began to talk to you while you all walked to class. But after a good fifteen steps, you heard someone call your name.
"Oi." The gruff voice filled your ears.
The three of you turned around and your friends had been left bamboozled.
Because lo and behold, Bakugo Katsuki had graced them with his presence.
The man just held up a green canvas bag, his finger being the only thing to hold the straps. You gasped and ran to grab it, making sure to check the contents as if afraid that you forgot to put your precious artwork before you left your apartment.
"Thank you thank you thank you, 'suki." You muttered, getting on your tippy toes to kiss his nose and mouth. You had to put your hand on rock hard muscle to stabilise yourself and the pressure didn't effect him one bit. He just cupped your face and deepened the kiss before placing one on your forehead.
"Stop being a dumbfuck and sleep on time. And show me what you made when I pick you up."
Bakugo started going back to his car, not caring for the stares your friends were throwing at him. They were chill, so he's heard. Katsuki was too anti social to get first hand experience.
"My guy."
When you turned, your guy friend had grabbed you by the shoulder and shook you vigorously.
"Your rich fucking boyfriend is a WBA fighter. Dude!"
"Yeah!! He's super cool right?"
"He's a fucking god but that's besides the point." Your friend looked more and more erratic.
"Yeah and that god is giving you a death glare. Better get your hands off them, bro. You've seen the amount of blood his opponents lose." Your other friend interjected, already pulling him off of you. He looked pale.
You turned and saw Katsuki stand like a statue, hands in his pockets and eyes hardened. His teeth were gritted which worried you since he already had a bad jaw. Students were swerving away like two rivers, his body like a jagged mountain in the middle.
Your double thumbs up and wide grin was the only thing that broke him out of his stance, shoulders relaxing and jaw releasing from its hold. Katsuki scanned the two men for a few more seconds before he turned and left with a wave of his hand.
"Fuck, I don't think I'll be able to breathe properly all day."
You turned with a skip in your step, happy to have seen your boyfriend for a few extra seconds in the morning.
"He's like a doberman. Such a cutie pie."
"I feel like that's an accurate description considering he would bite our heads off but only let you pet him."
"I see no cuteness in that man."

You regretted saying yes the moment you stepped inside the house where the party was going on. Apparently, since it became legal for all of you to be drinking and smoking, students decided to go crazy and absolutely wild, after all you were all about to leave for college. It was a good reason enough to party. The place was turned into a full night club and smelled of smoke and alcohol.
The urge to turn around and go back home was strong but you couldn’t. Yunji’s wrath was something you witnessed only once and you promised to yourself that you would do anything not to anger her.
“There you are!” Yunji appeared out of thin air with two drinks and she handed you one. “Did you know that this miserable Minho had some hidden skills?”
You snorted at the description. Really, Yunji kept pretending being annoyed with the man and yet you couldn’t not see how she glanced over her shoulder to look at the said man. “Such as?”
She quickly averted her eyes and raised her glass. “He makes amazing cocktails.”
You took a sip of your cocktail and had to admit that Yunji was right. A perfect mix of peach and vodka and something else; it was perfect. You hummed in satisfaction and looped your arm through her. “I still can’t believe you convinced me to attend the party.”
Yunji flipped her hair playfully. “I’m that convincing, I know.” Then she glanced at you, her gaze softened. “I know you’re not in your element right now, but enjoy the party nevertheless. Maybe it’s the right opportunity for you to get closer to Jisung.”
If only.
***
If there was someone who seemed to be enjoying the party to the fullest it was Jisung. You found him among the familiar faces, laughing loudly, talking to different people and looking awfully close to a brunette. You tried to ignore the jealous monster lurking under your skin, but more you observed them from afar, and angrier you got. Maybe you were angry because Jisung looked incredibly good tonight with leather pants, a black t-shirt and with a freaking choker. Maybe you were angry because he let the pretty brunette lean closer to him, being too touchy for your liking. But maybe it was also because of the two cocktails you had. Alcohol was obviously not your forte.
There wasn’t much you could do. You could either sulk in a corner while drinking or you could act on your desire. You looked down at your drink; no, there was no way you would let someone else steal him from you. Not so easily at least. You emptied your drink in one go, letting the alcohol burn your throat.
Fists clenched, you walked as confidently as you could manage. You didn’t hesitate, not even for a second as you grabbed Jisung’s arm and pulled him towards you. He yelped in surprise, eyes widening at the sight of you.
“Angel?” Obviously, he wasn’t expecting to see you here tonight.
You ignored his question. You glanced quickly at the brunette and smirked. “He’s mine.” And you claimed his lips, not caring that you weren’t alone, not caring that nobody knew about your very confusing relationship. Nothing mattered except for the feel of his lips against yours.
Jisung chuckled against your lips, amused with your frustration but he didn’t complain. He wrapped his arms around you and pulled you closer to him to deepen the kiss.
***
You pulled Jisung inside a room, not knowing whose room it was and honestly not caring much either. The only thing you wanted was to be alone with him. He let you lead him, chuckling on his way at your eagerness.
“You are in so much trouble, mister!” You told him as you pointed an accusing finger.
“What’s up, angel?” Jisung asked despite already knowing what was wrong with you. He had to, you couldn’t believe he could be that oblivious after everything you had shared. “You look angry.”
You took a deep breath and clenched your fists. It was hard not to implode when he was being like this. Didn’t he see what was wrong? Or was he playing with you? Two could play this game.
You unclenched your fists and looked at your pretty, bright red, painted nails. You tried to soothe your anger and look bored instead. “Oh I don’t know, Ji. Maybe I’m not amused seeing you with someone else.” You averted your eyes at him and scowled. “And here I thought we had a thing going on between us. Guess I was wrong.”
Jisung had to give it to you; you almost sounded convincing with your feigned boredom. Sadly for you, he knew exactly how tensed and annoyed you were. He took a step towards you, hands tucked in his pockets, he was smirking. “Is someone jealous?”
Your jaw twitched in annoyance. It would be so easy to admit just how badly you were jealous, but you kept your mouth shut and instead let him approach you. You quickly realized that it was a bad idea. The moment Jisung was close enough to you, you felt your resolution crumble. All you wanted was to wrap your arms around him and let him talk to you, let him reassure you.
Jisung gently grabbed your chin and tilted it up so you would look him in the eyes. His smirk turned into a genuine smile. “You do realize that you have no reason to be jealous, angel?”
“Sure about that?” Even to your ears, you sounded too bitter.
Jisung shook his head. He freed your chin only to let his thumb trace the shape of your lips. He was completely mesmerized with your lips, unable to look at anything else. You parted your lips and he didn’t hesitate to slip his thumb into your mouth. It was crazy and you were supposed to be angry at him, but all of that simply vanished the moment he started touching you. You couldn’t concentrate on anything else except for the feel of his thumb.
You bit on his thumb, the temptation just too strong.
“Fuck angel.” He groaned
Jisung couldn’t stop himself; he grabbed your face and claimed your mouth. The kiss was desperate, needy, pouring his feelings into the kiss. You melted against him as you clung to his shirt, bringing him even closer to you. You wanted to feel every inch of him. His lips parted and you didn’t hesitate as you deepened the kiss. The taste of him made you whimper desperately against his lips. You wanted him, all of him.
“Ji.” You whispered against his soft lips. “I need you.”
Jisung tensed but quickly recovered. He stroked your cheek, his gaze soft. “Are you sure?”
You gently pushed him from you, smiling at him. You had never been so sure about something in your life. You turned your back to him as you gathered your hair to one side to give him better access to the zipper.
Jisung inhaled sharply, understanding what you were asking for. He put his hands on your nape before slowly sliding and grabbing the zipper. Slowly, he started unzipping your dress but stopped midway to admire your exposed back – you groaned in response.
“Someone’s desperate.” He chuckled
“Am not!” But that was a lie and both of you knew it.
Jisung pressed his lips to your back. His lips covered every inch of your exposed back as he completely unzipped your dress. Your body responded instantly to his kisses; every place his lips touched was on fire.
You turned to face him, unable to look away from his beautiful eyes. Without breaking the eye contact, you pushed the dress and let it fall on the floor by your feet. Jisung’s breath hitched in his throat at the sight before him. You wore no bra under the dress which left you only in your panties. The urge to hide from his intense gaze was strong but you fought back. You wanted it. You wanted him to touch you. You grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the bed.
“Y/N.” Jisung tug your hands. You glanced over your shoulder, almost surprised to hear him call you by your name instead of his favorite nickname for you. Your heart swelled with love at the sight of his worried frown. “Are you really sure about it?”
You pecked his lips in response and smiled. “More than sure.”
You climbed on the bed, getting comfortable before you spread your arms, inviting him to come and claim you.
Jisung stood by the bed, his eyes roaming over your body, memorizing every mole, every tiny scars on your body. He couldn’t deny that he wanted you desperately, his pants were getting more and more uncomfortable.
“Come on, Ji.” You pleaded
Jisung ruffled his hair in frustration. “Fuck it.” He grabbed his shirt and pulled it over his head, throwing it across the room, before getting rid of the last piece of clothes.
You couldn’t avert your eyes from him even if you wanted. Jisung stood completely naked before you and looked confident and terribly beautiful. The urge to touch him and explore his body was impossible to ignore. But Jisung was faster. He joined you, body pressing against yours.
“You are so damn beautiful, I hope you know it.” He confessed and placed warm and wet kisses all over your neck, gently biting your skin. “I am so damn lucky, angel.”
And so were you, you thought as you pressed his head against you.
Jisung’s lips found yours once more. The kiss was no longer needy but gentle and sweet. He was taking his time, wanting you to feel all he felt for you, wanting to show you how much he cared.
“I’m going to take care of you, angel.” He promised. And you knew he would.
A soft moaned escaped your lips as his lips traveled down your skin. He made sure that no spot was left unkissed. He made sure that no spot was left unmarked. Jisung grabbed your panties and slowly took them off you. He took his sweet time, once more placing kisses all over your thighs, your knees.
You shivered, feeling even more exposed now. Exposed, yet terribly excited judging by how wet Jisung got you with just kisses. You would have been embarrassed any other time, but not tonight. Not when he was admiring your body with so much fondness and lust in his eyes.
“So fucking beautiful.” Jisung whispered more to himself than to you, as he gently spread your legs. “And mine.”
Jisung came face to face with your pussy and gave it a lick to have a taste – you shuddered at the sensation. “Oh fuck.” He wanted to take it slow, to make you come on his tongue, around his fingers, but now that he had a taste, he wasn’t sure he could control himself. He dived in, unable to stop himself.
“Oh my god, Ji.” You moaned and grabbed the sheets, holding for your dear life as he feasted on you. You knew it would be good, you had spent hours in your bed, touching yourself, imagining it would be him, but the real thing was so much better.
Jisung ate you like a starved man, lips and tongue working, devouring you in a way that left you begging for more. You pushed your hips to feel more, needing more. With every flick of his tongue, your grip on the sheets got stronger and you wondered if in the moment of pure bliss, you would tear the sheets apart.
“You taste so good, angel.” Jisung growled against your flesh. He wrapped his lips around your clit and sucked. Hard.
You cried out loudly, unable to contain your voice. And who cared if someone heard you anyway? You wanted the whole world to know just how good Jisung made you feel. You wanted them to know that he was yours and only yours.
“Fuck, I can’t get enough.” Jisung confessed, completely gone.
“Ji, I think I’m going to come.” You managed to say, your legs shaking. And Jisung sucked only harder, making your toes curl and your stomach clench before finally you completely let go in a silent scream.
Jisung straightened his back and licked his lips. He hummed in satisfaction as he stared at you, grinning. “You, my sweet angel,” and he hovered over you, “Taste divine.” And he kissed you, letting you taste yourself. And fuck if you didn’t come a second time just from that.
Jisung pulled back, his hands back on your thighs as he spread you more for him. He guided his throbbing, hard cock to your pussy and brushed your folds. You gasped, your heart pounding hard inside your chest.
“Sure?” He asked again, trying to resist the urge to just pound into you.
You groaned and nudged him with your leg. “Jisung, I swear to god, just fuck me!”
“So bossy!” But he obliged. Finally. Slowly, he slipped inside you, inch by inch, trying not to hurt you. “Fuck, angel, you’re so tight.”
“Fu-uck.” You shut your eyes tightly, trying to relax, trying to take all of him inside you. But it was too much.
“Hey there,” Jisung peppered your face with kisses as he slid his hand between your bodies, reaching for your clit to distract you from the pain. “You’re doing so good, my little angel.”
Jisung gave you the time you needed to adjust. He watched your every wince, your every breath, waiting for the sign you were ready.
“Ji, you can move.”
He didn’t need to be told twice. From your tightness alone, he didn’t need if he could last and it took all of his willpower to stay still while being wrapped around your warmth. You felt just so damn good.
Jisung pulled out slightly and thrust back slowly, drawing a small moan from you. He did again and again, his thrusts gentle and controlled but you could tell from how shaky he was, it was hard for him.
You wrapped your arms tightly around him and pulled him into a wet kiss. “I can take it.”
“Y/N.”
“I promise.”
His next thrust made your eyes roll back in your head and clench around him. It felt just so good.
“Fuck, angel, don’t do that or I’m going to explode.” He begged, wanting it to last longer, wanting to feel more of your warmth.
As your body got accommodated to him, Jisung’s pace fastened, going deeper, reaching spots that made you arch your back, that made you beg for more and moan his name over and over again. Jisung was addictive, every part of him and you realized that you could never have enough.
“More, please, Ji, more.” You begged, meeting his thrusts.
“Fuck,” Jisung cursed as he felt you clench around him again. “I really won’t last.” But he refused to let go before he felt you come around his cock. Once more he reached your clit, rubbing it, drawing another loud cry from you. “Come for me, my sweet angel.”
And your body followed his command. Your stomach clenched hard one last time before everything exploded inside you in an uncontrollable wave. Your body convulsed under him, letting completely go as you screamed his name one last time.
“Just like that, good girl.” He praised you as he kept thrusting inside you, seeking his own release.
Jisung came with a low and long groan, collapsing on top of you. He couldn’t resist the urge to place some kisses on your chest, making you squirm under him which made him chuckle.
“Hey angel,” He started and moved to be inches from your face. “I hadn’t told you yet, but I love you.”

Haha no worries! It's downplayed a lot in the series because it's supposed to be a comedy, but when you start looking more closely at the stuff Kuniharu does, it paints a picture of a terrible father and a bad husband too.
It's been a topic on the blog several times, so I'm sure people can chime in with more evidence, but here's what's off the top of my head...
Raised Kusuke. Nuff said tbh lol.
Kuniharu calls Kusuo a monster multiple times and is almost certainly the reason why Kusuke and Kusuo himself believe that Kusuo is an inhuman freak. This attitude is certainly not coming from Kurumi, and nobody else knew about Kusuo's power. From the beginning of the series, Kusuo genuinely believes he's unable to connect with other human beings, and it's mostly because of this attitude inherited from his father.
Kuniharu is never seen attempting to prevent Kusuke from constantly picking fights with his brother, and only attempting to discipline Kusuo for behavior that Kuniharu considers disrespectful to him. This is mostly a fact by omission, but we do see him belittling Kusuke when the kid obviously already has an inferiority problem.
Kuniharu is one of the worst performers at his job and the first to be let go in the case of a crisis. When he loses his job, he's unable to find any others because his only real skill is shoe-licking. This was a parody chapter though so questionably canon. He's always running late for his job though and we see him trying to make a manga artist rip off Naruto, so honestly it makes sense that he's that bad at his job. The only time he's shown as slightly competent at his job was during a parody chapter too hsfjdlshfks.
However what's definitely canon is that he either doesn't make much money or mis-spends most of it. In an area where Nendo's mom, a single woman, and Satou's family, the exact average family, can afford to live, Kuniharu had to take out an 80 year mortgage to pay for a similarly sized home. For context, most mortgages are for 30 years, 15 if you git gud. Btw, the house was literally a gift from Kusuke, Kuniharu insisted on paying out of manly pride or something. Sir, Kusuke is a freaking billionaire and this is like the only single no-strings-attached genuinely kind thing he's ever done hsfjdlshfks
Completely irresponsible with money: has a huge Valentine's day budget for his wife's gift ($3,000 iirc?) and then spends it all at the bar paying for his coworkers' drinks (the same guys who abuse him at his job and think he's garbage). He also spends huge amounts of money on his model figure collection, and has a whole room of gym equipment he never uses. As a result, Kusuo has a very small allowance and for some reason, his one favorite food (coffee jelly) is not included in the grocery list. Even though Kusuo canonically gets insane rock bottom prices for literally everything that gets bought in the household. How do you fuck up so badly financially that you can't buy your clinically depressed son the one (inexpensive!) thing that brings him joy??
By the way, Kuniharu started dating Kurumi when he was a college student and she was in high school. Kusuke was born like a year after they met, so you can do the math about how little time he spent before knocking her up 😬 They basically had a shotgun wedding. No wonder Kurumi's dad is NOT a fan of Kuniharu...
Literally one of the first chapters is Kuniharu and Kurumi domestic violence but make it funny. They're throwing furniture, Kuniharu is breaking the windows, Kurumi is yeeting her husband, and all this shit is over a single coffee jelly, which again, should be a normal part of the groceries for their household. They constantly bring their son into this drama too, which I'm sure is fantastic for his mental and emotional development btw.
There's a manga exclusive chapter that's a parody, so questionably canon, but in it Kuniharu physically attacks Kusuo multiple times over differences in opinion.
However, it IS canon that Kuniharu takes any opportunity to try to physically harm Kusuo. Ex. Hitting him in the massage episode and trying to step on him when he turns tiny.
Canon tries to redeem him a bit by showing moments where Kusuo is a baby and Kuniharu is trying really hard to make him smile because he wants his baby boy to be happy. Unfortunately that just makes it seem like he tried to be a good father for a bit when Kusuo was a baby, and then as soon as Kusuo's powers developed enough to make him miserable (the time when he needs the MOST familial support!), Kuniharu just gives up, and starts using Kusuo as his personal genie in a bottle. While also trying to fix his own fragile ego by attempting to establish dominance over his son. ????? Get therapy bro.
Canon also shows that Kuniharu's love points for Kusuo are the same as for his wife, however, not even Kuniharu believes that, as he tries to run away to evade it hsfjdlshfks. And even if he does love his son that much, he certainly doesn't show it in any meaningful way, because his literal MIND-READING SON doesn't know that. There are plenty of parents who truly love their kids and still abuse them like hell because they think that's the right thing to do (see Kaido's mom being overly strict because she wants to see him succeed in life), so the love points don't mean much imo.
Kuniharu does dole out a couple of pieces of wisdom (at Kusuo's wrong date birthday party and in the volcano arc) but that really doesn't make up for anything and even his wife thinks he's childish so... 🇫
Kuniharu is definitely funny as a character, and like I said, most of this requires digging into canon a little more, but once you start looking, it becomes clear that Kuniharu is just not a good person, father, or husband.
Like, I totally get that having a genius and a god as your kids would not be easy for any parent, but Kuniharu really doesn't try to make life better for either of his sons, preferring to get into petty squabbles with his wife and play video games/build models the rest of the time. I'm not saying dads can't have hobbies, but the only times we see him spending time with Kusuo is usually when he's begging for a favor, and he also clearly does zero housework whatsoever, so...
Anyways, I think Kurumi deserves a better husband and Kusuo deserves a better parent (or at least a break from being used as a magical favor vending machine lol) so I often joke on here that Kurumi should get a divorce and run polls about who she should marry instead and such!
Hope this helps! 👍🏾 Thanks for the question!

All I Ever Knew, Only You 18: The Graduate
Chapter Eighteen.
I tapped on your window on your darkest night, The shape of you was jagged and weak, There was nowhere for me to stay, but I stayed anyway, You fire off missiles 'cause you hate yourself, But do you know, you're demolishing me? And then you squeeze my hand as I'm about to leave, Are you really gonna talk about timing in times like these? And let all your damage, damage me? And carry your baggage up my street, And make me your future history, it's time, You've come along way, open the blinds, let me see your face, You wouldn't be the first renegade to need somebody.
Summary: Hawkins was your typical quaint, mid-western town where nothing ever happened. People were born here, lived their entire lives within the town limits, and eventually died here, peacefully in their sleep. But one cold November evening in 1983 would change everything.
Despite a child with psychokinetic abilities and ravenous monsters that lacked faces, stranger things had definitely happened in the small town in Indiana. One of them being your reluctant and slightly imposed friendship with Hawkins High’s own King Bee, Steve Harrington.
Characters: Steve Harrington x Non-descriptive F!Reader (eventual)
Words: 8,024
Chapter Warnings: Underage drinking, explicit language, fluff, allusions to cheating (not main character related), violence, protective-but-still-an-idiot!Steve, mentions of vomitting.
Series Warnings: Strong language, mentions of underage drinking, mentions of drug use, canon-typical violence, mentions of alcohol abuse, mentions of possible mental health disorders, child abuse, slow burn, kinda enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, I like to call it ‘two idiots who begrudgingly befriend each other only to realize… ‘wait a damn minute…’, eventual sexual content, canon-typical time-period bullshit. 18+. Chapter Eighteen: The Graduate
A bead of sweat trickled down your temple, the motion of wiping it away both autonomous yet otiose, since another would replace it soon enough. It was only early June, but the Mid-west summer was back with a vengeance this year.
“How long is this gonna take?” Mike huffed, pushing his ever-growing hair out of his face, “It’s as hot as Satan’s ass crack out here.”
The boy had been scowling since he’d clambered into your car and immediately noticed the lack of air-con.
Condensation from your bottled water dripped down your hand as you passed the boy the drink, knowing that although it wouldn’t do much to cool him down, at least if he was drinking he couldn’t be complaining at the same time.
“They just called his name,” Lucas noted, catching a glimpse of the boy from his elevated seat on the bleachers as your small group — bar Mike — stood, applauding and hollering the older boy’s name.
The noise caught Steve’s attention as he shook Principal Higgins’ hand, a beaming smile stretching across his face as he sauntered across the stage like he’d been class valedictorian. Sure, Steve had only graduated by the skin of his teeth, and he hadn’t been able to secure one college place, but he had graduated nonetheless.
The rest of the ceremony seemed to pass quickly, and despite the raging beat down from the sun and the kid’s complaining — as if Max didn’t hail from California — you could hardly wipe the smile from your face.
Pushing your way through the large sea of students, you practically had to tear yourself away from the boy’s tight grip as he hugged you, “You came?”
“I mean, you kinda saved our asses last year. Would be rude to not show our faces.” Max smiled, slightly perplexed, as the boy pulled her into her own bone-crushing hug. He made his way down the group, Eleven and Lucas being the only ones to seemingly enjoy it.
“Yeah, it uh… It means a lot.”
You’d been able to wrangle the kids — bar Dustin, who had left a week or so before for some summer camp — to the ceremony, but you knew you didn’t have long before they grew bored and even more annoying than usual.
“Oh, there he is!” A loud, shrill cut through the already noisy atmosphere as Mr. And Mrs. Harrington made their way toward the boy, the former pulling her son into an embrace, “Oh, look at you! You look so smart in your robes.”
Mr. Harrington rolled his eyes as his wife continued to fawn over their only child, “Well, don’t get used to it. You won’t be seeing him in them again since he didn’t get into one damn college.”
“Honey, not here.”
Her voice was stern and her eyes sharp as she sent her husband a pointed look, almost daring him to try to continue this conversation in public, though the man merely turned and began to fiddle with his pager.
“Thanks, Mom,” Steve mumbled, his cheeks flushed — from the sun, or the embarrassment of his mother gripping his cheeks, you weren’t sure — as he peered toward you, the snickers from the kids only deepening his blush.
“Oh, hello again,” Mrs. Harrington had seemingly just noticed you, her smile appearing more strained as she looked around at the small ragtag group surrounding her son, “We didn’t know any of your... friends were coming, sweetheart.”
It took everything in Steve to not shake his head and deny that he was friends with actual children, to explain why they were all so prominent in his life. But he didn’t want to look like an asshole, nor did he want to be shipped off to some insane asylum, or worse… taken away by the government. So instead, Steve sent a tight-lipped smile to his mother as he simply nodded.
“You’re going to have to head out to dinner without me tonight,” Steve’s father sighed, shoving his pager back into the pocket of his tailored black pants, “Stacy said there’s an emergency meeting in Indianapolis, I’ll be gone for the night-”
“I’ll ring Enzo’s when we get back, let them know we’ll reschedule.”
“You two can go on without me. I don’t-”
“You understand, don’t you Steven?” Mrs. Harrington cut off her husband, turning her attention back toward her son, missing the moment his face dropped.
“Yeah, I, uh… It’s fine, Mom.”
Pressing a kiss to the boy’s cheek, Mrs. Harrington returned her gaze to her husband, “We’ll go home and pack. I’ll ring Enzo’s, and you can tell Stacy to book a dinner at the hotel for two tonight.”
Steve watched as the two made their way out toward the parking lot, the noises around him blurring into one sound.
“-And there’s a new movie out tonight, I can totally try to score us some free popcorn at the Hawk unless you wanna try out the new one at Starcourt? Or if you don’t wanna head out, we can rent something at Family Video. I can grab us a pizza and-”
“Party at mine, tonight,” Steve shouted, causing the large crowd of teens to turn in his direction, “8 O’clock.”
“There’s already a party planned for tonight, Harrington. Must have forgotten to post your invite, so sorry.” Carol’s all-too-familiar snarl sounded much too close as she approached you.
“Yeah, well… I have a pool.” Steve shrugged. It wasn’t often he’d laud his parent’s wealth over people, but tonight… Tonight was an exception.
A loud cheer sounded from the crowd, some hollering and chanting Steve’s name, reminding him of the past few years of high school. Carol, however, was less than pleased, scoffing before making her way back to Tommy.
“What time should we get there?” Lucas asked, eyes wide and shining, only to be quickly shut down by the older boy,
“Yeah, not a chance in Hell, Sinclair.”
Despite Steve’s offer to help him set up — he had made his bed, therefore as far as you were concerned, he could sleep in it — you had other plans. You’d dropped off the kids at Mike’s house where they could irritate Mrs. Wheeler instead, and after a pathetic attempt to make yourself somewhat decent for the party later, you headed to your destination.
It was already dark by the time you’d made your way to Forest Hills trailer park, but the summer air remained a few degrees above comfortable, and you begrudged the fact your mother had all but whipped the car keys from your grasp the moment you’d opened the front door. She didn’t have a shift tonight, so you could only assume she was headed out to whatever bar would allow her in.
Throwing your bike down on the patch of grass in front of the steps, the door rattled under your slightly too zealous knock.
“Alright, alright, hold your damn horse- oh, evenin’.” The door swung open, causing you to step backward down the large concrete stairs as Eddie’s uncle, Wayne, appeared, mug in one hand and an unlit cigarette hanging from his mouth.
“Is Eddie here?”
The man nodded, letting out an exasperated sigh as he placed the mug down on a small table inside where you could see a small TV set up before moving aside and letting you enter, “He’s holed up in his room, maybe you can get a bit more sense outta the boy than I did.”
Wayne made his way outside and shut the door behind himself, mumbling under his breath as he left. You could already hear the thumping bass from down the small hallway, so you kicked off your shoes and knocked a few times on his door.
“Go away, Wayne.”
Pushing the door open, you leaned against the door frame and waited for the boy to notice you. Laying prone on his messy bed, Eddie Munson looked a little too pathetic for your liking. He was dramatic at the best of times, and cocksure at the worst, but the sight of the young man laying face first into his lumpy pillow as he loudly bemoaned his future was something else altogether.
Clearing your throat, you watched closely as he let out a long, annoyed huff of air and turned only his head, a glare already set on his features that was meant for his uncle quickly fell into something that resembled a baby deer trapped in headlights when he realized that it was not, in fact, Wayne, who was trying to rouse him from his evening of desperation and depression.
“You’re a sight for sore eyes, Munson,” you smirked, turning your attention to a book haphazardly thrown onto the boy’s desk.
His bed squeaked as he rolled over, quickly pushing himself to his feet to snatch the book, the blue cover slightly torn and bent along the edges, indicating how often it had been read, “You’re not Wayne…”
“What gave it away?” You cocked a brow, still ignoring the boy as you continued to look around his room, the boy feeling a little too abashed at the state of his room, “the lack of plaid? Or the fact I’m not a 50-year-old man? Pick your words wisely, Munson.”
“Stop touching my shit,” Eddie grumbled, taking away another item — this time, a comic book — from your grasp and placing it precariously on top of his ashtray, his brow still furrowed slightly as he ran a hand over his hair, a futile attempt to straighten out the mass of curls on his head, “What are you doing here? Heard Harrington was having some big, stupid blowout to celebrate graduating by the skin of his teeth. Assumed you’d be with him since, you know, you're attached at the hip now, or whatever.”
Eddie was hurting, which was the sole reason you swallowed down the venomous response that had tasted a little too sour on your tongue for even you. You were here to check in on the boy, not make him feel worse that he, once again, was not a graduate of Hawkins High, and would instead have to repeat another year under the watchful, exasperated eye of Principal Higgins.
“Wanted to see you, see how you’re doing after… you know.” Eddie sent you a halfhearted glare before flopping back down onto his bed, this time facing the ceiling with a huff, “Which I guess isn’t good, since you’re blowing both your own and my ears out with this shit.”
Eddie sat up quickly, holding his weight up on his elbows, “This isn’t shit, it’s Black Sabbath, and Ozzy Osbourne is thee-”
“Yeah, yeah, the prince of darkness, I know, Eddie. I’ve heard the spiel before. But can you please just turn it down a little?”
Eddie leaned over his bed, turning down the dial of his boombox in defeat as the room felt a little too quiet now, “Look, I don’t need checking in on, alright? I’m a big boy, and this isn’t my first rodeo.”
Throwing yourself down next to the boy, laying side by side, perpendicular on the bed, your eyes gazed over the posters that lined his walls, including his homemade ‘Corroded Coffin’ banner. Rolling on your side slightly, you dug around in your back pocket, searching for the notes you’d shoved in there earlier, “Hey, you got any pre-rolls?”
“I’m not really in the mood,” Eddie huffed, only to be cut off when the money floated down onto his chest. Sighing, he pushed himself up once more and grabbed his metal lunchbox from the bedside table, “I normally charge extra for pre-rolled, you know?”
“Friends discount?” you shrugged, eyes turning to watch the boy as he plonked the box onto his desk, sitting in his old, barely still standing chair, and got to work, “You know, you’ll get caught in school with that one day. It’s a little obvious you’re not exactly carrying around a sandwich in it.”
Ignoring your barely there concern, Eddie shook his head, “Oh, we’re friends, are we? You know the assholes at school would shun you even more if they heard you declare that.”
Rolling your eyes, you rested your hands on your stomach, “I’ve watched your shitty band play live. By choice. I’d definitely say we’re friends, Munson.”
“You know, I’m starting to think you refer to everything you like as shitty. Black Sabbath, but I know you know at least two of their albums, my music, but you’ve seen the band live…” After securing the joint, Eddie gently fell back onto the bed, elbow a little too close to your ribs as he rolled to face you, “Tell me how you really feel about DND.”
Shoving the boy away from you, you checked around the small table to the side of his bed for a lighter, tossing the magazine from earlier onto the floor in search of the ashtray, stopping short when you came across the blue box innocently placed next to it. Tossing the boy the lighter, you moved back from where you were leaning over Eddie, blue box in hand and a wide smirk on your face.
“Lubricated, for her pleasure, right?” You couldn’t help the cackle that escaped you as Eddie choked as he inhaled a lungful of smoke, sitting up quickly to grab the box, despite the fact he was certain he was about to die.
“Give that here,” he glared, throat scratchy when he finally managed to catch his breath, allowing you to take the joint only once you’d passed him the box of condoms, “God, you’re annoying.”
Finally settling down, you returned to your original place on the bed, taking a large toke or two before handing the joint back to the boy, “Hey, I think it’s great that you care about that shit-”
“It’s important,” Eddie glared, his cheeks burning in lingering embarrassment, “Can’t just ram it in there, and-”
“Christ, Munson, I don’t actually care about your sex life. I’m just glad you’re being responsible, even if that is an unopened packet.”
“Yeah, well,” Eddie sighed, releasing a long cloud of smoke as you continued to pass the joint back and forth, “I’m the only Munson Junior in town. Wouldn’t wanna make this shithole hate me more, right?”
Halting in your actions, joint halfway to your mouth, you looked over at the boy who despite putting on a pretty decent front in school and around town, was only able to let his walls down, even slightly, in the comfort and safety of his own home. A home that he was forced to share with his uncle.
“You’re nothing like Al, you know that right?”
“What, charming? Charismatic?”
“You know what I mean, Ed.”
And he did.
Word around Hawkins traveled faster than mono in high school, and all of the charm in the world wouldn’t make Alan Munson a better man. Whether or not the death of Eddie’s mother had devastated the man or not, he was the only one to blame for the life of gambling and theft that he began to lead.
But grief was a funny thing. It could wreck even the strongest of men, even the kindest of them, and Al Munson was neither of those things to begin with.
After finishing the last of your joint, you pocketed the rest and once you were certain that Eddie was going to be okay, you decided to take your leave. Eddie gave you a ride to the Harrington residence, offering to drop your bike back home on the way through, offering you a ride home later, if you needed it.
You knew what he was getting at, a Cheshire cat grin pulling widely at his cheeks as he sent you a sleazy wink, only to receive a joint thrown — unlit, thankfully — to his face. For his troubles, you’d assured him.
By the time you’d arrived at Steve’s house, it was already full of half-cut teenagers celebrating their newfound freedom. Steve was lucky that he didn’t really have any neighbors in close range, because you could hear the music blasting from the sound system, along with the screams and laughter and chanting coming from the backyard before you’d even exited Eddie’s van.
“You sure you don’t wanna come in? Just for one drink? You might make a sale?”
But the older boy shook his head, the now tight smile that tugged almost uncomfortably across his mouth not fooling anyone, “Nah. We smoked the last of the shit I got from Rick, plus I gotta tie up some loose ends on my next campaign. It’s a big one.”
Eddie waved you off, his van making more racket than the house party as he drove back up the driveway, and you only hoped he wouldn’t get pulled over for the inevitable speeding he’d be doing back through town.
Pushing open the large, red door, the house already seemed much too cramped, full of people who were practically strangers.
A familiar song was playing through the speakers, something you were sure you’d heard on the radio in Steve’s car recently, but you didn’t care enough to place it. Either way, people were dancing up a storm.
You felt a sharp pain in your side as you pushed through the crowd, hoping to find someone you recognized when a loud shout of your name caught your attention.
Finally breaking out of the sea of people, you met Steve in the kitchen where he was pouring what seemed to be another round of shots, a gaggle of now ex-students surrounding him at all sides, accepting their drink with gusto. You waited for the boy to down his own, watching as he shook his head in an attempt to drown out the burn that the liquor left in his throat. He was obviously drunk, you realized, as he rounded the kitchen counter and wrapped an arm around you, pulling you into a one-armed hug that felt a little more like a headlock.
“I’m so glad you came! I thought you were gonna bail.”
“Yeah, well… There’s still time,” you only half-joked, patting his back before he let you go, only to drag you back to the group he was standing with. You recognized a few of the girls, all of them fawning over the man of the hour the last few years of high school, especially Debbie Rein. Ex-head cheerleader, and one thousand percent Steve’s type. Before Nancy, at least. God, you thought to yourself, she must have been absolutely infuriated that Nancy Wheeler of all people had their taste of Steve before she did.
“So, you know these guys, right?” Steve asked, his hand flailing in the small group's direction.
You sent them an awkward smile, despite being practically ignored by them all. Cheerleaders and jocks were not aware of your existence in school, of that you were sure, but you still tried, “Uh, yeah. We had Chem together last year, I think.”
Debbie — who had returned to her previous state of clinging to Steve’s arm — merely looked you up and down, shrugging her shoulder as if to prove a point that you were all too forgettable. You knew she was counting down the seconds until you left, and Steve’s attention could return solely back to her. Steve, however, had a different plan.
“Here you go,” he handed you the small plastic cup, a shot full of what was likely the most expensive vodka in his parent’s liquor cabinet.
“Oh, uh, no I’m good thanks-”
“C’mon, it’s graduation! Just the one, I promise.” Steve interrupted, holding the drink closer to you, big brown eyes peering down like a too-excited puppy, only making it all that harder to turn down.
You would’ve, though, had Debbie — whose nails were practically digging into Steve’s bicep — not scoffed, lips pulling into the same smirk you’d seen grace her annoyingly pretty face countless times in the school hallways as she hit books out of freshman’s arms and tripped the band geeks as they lugged their heavy instruments to practice.
Instead of asking her what her problem was, because you knew damn well what her issue was with you, you accepted the drink from Steve’s sticky, vodka grip, swallowing it down in one, trying — and failing — to keep a straight face. Turns out, even expensive vodka tasted like paint stripper.
Steve let out a cheer as you placed the small cup back onto the counter and quickly downed another of his own, tongue sticking out at the taste. You watched the blonde roll her eyes before turning her attention back to the boy, “Oh my god, I love this song. Let’s dance!”
Steve nodded enthusiastically, even though he honestly had no idea what was currently playing, but the girl’s smirk quickly fell from her face as he grabbed your arm, trying to drag you toward the makeshift dance floor,
“No, Steve, I’m not…” shaking your arm from his grip, you tried your best not to glare at him, “I don’t think that’s what she meant.”
The boy’s head tipped to the right as he frowned, “What who meant?”
Sighing, you patted the boy on his cheek, eyes softening at his dopey, drunken expression, “Debbie. You know, the girl in the… You know what? Never mind.”
“You want another drink?”
Shaking your head, you stepped closer to the boy attempting to avoid an all too passionate couple that seemed to be attached at the mouth, “Shots aren’t really my thing. Look, Steve, I think I should-”
“C’mon, there’s a keg out back.” The boy didn’t stop to make sure you were following, instead grabbing your hand and dragging you back through the kitchen, past Debbie, who sent you one last bitter glare, and into the back yard where he snatched two clean solo cups and poured a little too much beer into each.
You followed him toward the lounge chairs, a heavy weight settling on your chest as you took note of the last time you were here. The last time you’d seen Barb alive. Sending a quick glance to the boy, you wondered if the memories hit him just as hard, if not harder. Because at least you could go home, he couldn’t even look out of his window without the painful reminder of what happened that night, and who was — unrightfully so — blamed for it all.
Steve tipped back his cup, gulping down a large mouthful of the bitter drink before looking around at the groups that had gathered, some people cooling off in the pool, others relishing in the early summer heat.
“It’s a good turnout, right?” He questioned, his wide eyes turning toward you, once again seeking your validation, “better than anything Tommy or Carol could’ve pulled off.”
“You don’t have to do this, you know? Not for them, and especially not with me.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” It was obvious that Steve was lying, his focus quickly returning to the crowd around him as he took another sip, “I’m just being a normal teenage guy on graduation, right? I’m allowed to do that, right?”
Releasing a long and irritated sigh, you tried your best to ignore his tone, knowing it wasn’t really you that he was upset with, “I’m not saying you can’t, Steve. I’m just saying you don’t have to.”
“Look, you just… you wouldn’t get it, alright? Tonight is the most normal I’ve felt in a long time. I mean, I was someone in high school, you know? People cared. You were just a…”
You were sure your heart physically ached as the boy’s sentence dwindled off, a sip of his beer to wash down the harsh words, regret obvious in his features.
“Just a what, Steve? Just some loser who you didn’t know existed until you were dragged into this shit? Or rather barreled headfirst into it because you couldn't mind your own damn business.”
He wanted to remind you that his barreling had, as a matter of fact, saved your life that night at the Byers' residence. He had the blood stain on the backseat of his Beamer to prove it. But Steve wasn’t here to burn bridges, despite being drunk enough to light the match,
“I didn’t say that-”
“You didn’t have to,” you were trying, and failing, to keep your cool as your voice amplified, “Jesus, Steve. I really thought you’d gotten over this shit, but one stupid comment from Carol earlier and… You know what, forget it. Enjoy your night down memory lane, Steve. I’m sure Debbie’s still in the kitchen if you’re that desperate to relive your glory days.”
Standing, you handed your cup a little too forcefully to the boy who didn’t seem bothered at all that some of the beer spilled over the side, most likely staining his shirt, as he struggled to stand in his drunken stupor,
“Have a great graduation party, King Steve.”
“Oh, wow. I didn’t think you’d turn up, considering you’re not in the graduating class.” You were sure that Carol’s voice was the background music in Hell, “Any of your other loser friends get a pity invite, or are you just Harrington’s special friend of the moment?”
Steve called your name, almost completely unaware of Carol’s presence, too occupied with your sudden halt, watching closely as you turned back around,
“You know, Carol, I think it’s really great that you and Tommy are so secure in your relationship that you trust each other to go to colleges in different states. I mean, I know Tommy didn’t exactly get his pick of the crop, but considering what happened at Sally’s party last weekend? Well, you’re a better woman than me, that’s for sure.”
Tommy’s ears — as well as the large group that had formed outside — perked up at the mention of his name, splodges of red from the tips of his ears, spreading down his neck as he sent his girlfriend an ingratiating smile, “I promise, babe, nothing happened at Sally’s. I was barely even there an hour-”
Rumors spread around the school like a forest fire, and being all but invisible had its perks if you knew how to use them, but you decided to leave the boy to his fumbling as he tried his best to explain himself, ready to shove your way back through the crowd.
Maybe you would call in that ride from Eddie.
“I don’t even know why you’re here, the only place you’ll be going to after graduation is Pennhurst.” Tommy’s biting tone stopped you mid-step, and as you turned to face him, you could see that for a split second, he was unsure if he’d gone too far. And if looks could kill, he’d be six feet under already.
“Maybe you should be more concerned with why your girlfriend wasn’t at Sally’s party, and who she was with, instead. I’ll give you a clue, it starts with Har, and ends with Grove.”
“You crazy bitch,” Tommy spat, any amount of uncertainty for his previous comment now gone with the wind as he quickly approached you, and you realized that maybe this time, you had pushed too hard and the boy might actually hit you.
Your chest bumped against Steve’s back as he slotted himself between you and the incoming, hot-headed idiot that he used to call a friend. Despite being obviously drunk, Steve’s words were much clearer than before, “Back off, Tommy. Just go, and take her with you.”
“What happened to you, man?” The boy questioned, his dark eyes peering into Steve’s as if he was genuinely perplexed by Steve’s change of personality this past year. Then again, he didn’t know half the shit Steve had been through. Half the shit you had been through together, “She got a beer-flavored pussy that’s got you whipped or something-”
The crack was loud in the silence of the yard, a few gasps escaped some of the spectators as they watched Tommy stumble back slightly, hand pressed to his nose as he felt the first trickle of blood run over his knuckles.
Unfortunately for Steve, Tommy had a lot less to drink and seemingly recovered much too quickly, throwing his own punch and catching Steve across the cheekbone, the boy’s body stumbled into you slightly as you gripped the back of his shirt. Steve’s face forcibly slammed in the other direction as Tommy landed his second hit, taking full advantage of his inebriated state, and it was only when you forced yourself in between them that Tommy stopped.
“Your reign is long over, Harrington. Don’t you get that? All anyone will ever remember you as is some loser has-been, who peaked in high school. C’mon, babe. This party’s lame, anyway.”
The crowd's whispers soon faded out as someone turned the music up, the sounds of Madonna’s ‘Material Girl’ enough to recapture the ever-fleeting attention of teenagers, and you turned around, eyes wide as you watched the bruise on Steve’s cheekbone blossom in front of your own eyes, “Steve, I-”
“I’m fine,” he mumbled, not quite sobering up, but definitely no longer in the mood to parade about as if he were having fun. So instead, he made a beeline to the trusty bottle of very expensive vodka.
Squeezing your eyes shut, you waited until the swirling colored squiggles faded behind your eyelids before opening them back up and peering through the large sliding glass door trying to spot the boy. You couldn’t leave him like this, not when you felt partially responsible for the showdown that just happened. So begrudgingly, you pushed back through the overcrowded house, trying to find him.
It wasn’t too hard, surprisingly, as all you had to do was follow the loud cheers that seemed to echo around the house. Steve stood in the kitchen, all but chugging the bottle of vodka. With pinched brows, you marched toward him, yanking the bottle from his grip and causing some of it to join the beer stain you’d left previously.
The chanting came to an abrupt halt, loud boos and shouts aimed in your direction as you kept the bottle away from Steve’s grabbing hands,
“Give it back, it’s mine.” He slurred, eyes not quite able to focus on you. The bottle seemed much emptier than before you’d made your way outside, and you could only hope that other partygoers had taken their fill because if not, Steve was going to be left with one hell of a hangover in the morning. Ignoring the bottle you’d taken from him, Steve made a move to grab a solo cup, half filled with a red liquid that he wasn’t entirely sure of. Too drunk and too emotional, Steve knocked the cup before he was able to grab it, the contents spilling all over the kitchen counter, and yourself.
“You’re being way too dramatic right now, Harrington, and the only way this is gonna end is with your head in the toilet.”
“Oh, Harrington this, Harrington that,” he huffed, his brow wrinkled as he peered down with a look you’d never seen him give you before, “Jesus, you don’t have to be here. You can go at any time! Just because shit happened last year, and I’m gonna rot in this town for the rest of my life doesn’t mean…”
The boy stopped mid-sentence, almost freezing in place, “It doesn’t mean…”
“Steve? You good?”
“It doesn’t mean… I’m gonna puke.”
Desperately, you grabbed the boy by the back of the neck and pushed him toward the kitchen sink, all but sticking his head into it so he wouldn’t throw up over the floor. A few disgusted guests groaned, quickly evacuating the kitchen, but the music drowned out the boy’s gagging.
Once Steve’s stomach had finally settled, his shoulders no longer heaving as he retched, you grabbed an empty solo cup from the side and filled it with water from the tap, leaving it running to clear the sink.
“Sip, don’t gulp. Or you’ll be sick again.”
Steve nodded and slowed down his drinking, his eyes looking anywhere but at you.
“I wanna sleep,” he mumbled, sounding a little like a toddler who was overdue for a nap.
“I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but you kinda have a house full of people. If you go to bed, you might wake up without a couch, and I think your parents might notice.”
A childlike pout settled on his lips, brow pulled together as he finally looked at you, brown puppy dog eyes all but begging you for something he really didn’t need your permission for. Squeezing your eyes closed, you let out an annoyed sigh but nodded regardless, allowing the boy to place his arm over your shoulder for balance.
“Let's get you upstairs, and I’ll deal with the rest.”
“I can take it from here-”
“Fuck off, Debbie,” you huffed, pushing past the blonde from earlier and making your way toward the boy's room, ignoring the drunken wolf whistles and whooping from the crowd who’d noticed you leading Steve upstairs, wondering if Steve felt as embarrassed at Tina’s party last year when he’d helped you — too drunk, and much too upset — safely into his car.
Despite being on more than one of the athletic clubs in school, Steve wasn’t an overly muscular guy, yet his lean body was still heavy to assist — or rather, drag — upstairs, especially as with every step, Steve leaned a little more weight onto you.
Making your way down the hallway, and toward his room, you raised your voice slightly to catch the attention of the overly zealous couple making out against his door. Thankfully, Steve had locked the rooms upstairs, bar his own, and the bathroom in an attempt to keep this kind of thing from happening. He wasn’t a prude — obviously — but he wasn’t sure how he’d explain cleaning his parent’s bed sheets when they returned tomorrow.
“Hey, move it. Go find somewhere else to swap saliva. Preferably one of your own bedrooms.”
The couple scoffed, sending you a glare, but headed downstairs nonetheless.
How you managed to open Steve’s door and keep the boy upright took nothing less than a miracle, and you couldn’t help but feel relieved when he stumbled into his room and fell backward onto his bed, the frame creaking slightly under his sudden weight.
“Are you gonna throw up anymore?”
Shaking his head, Steve tried to take off his sneakers, giving up when the task seemed too strenuous. Making your way over and sitting at the bottom of his bed, you grabbed his shoes one at a time, tugging the sneakers from his feet and dropping them to the floor, “Steve, I need to make sure that you’re not going to choke on your own vomit if I leave you alone for ten minutes.”
“I’m fine, I’m good… I’m great,” Steve sighed, rolling onto his stomach and nuzzling his pillow.
Deciding that he would survive for the foreseeable future, you made your way downstairs, a plan already formed before your foot hit the bottom step. Pushing your way through the crowd in the living room, you cut the music suddenly, shouting out over the crowd,
“Cops!”
The crowd dispersed quickly, knowing that although they had their newfound freedom from school, that wouldn’t stop the long grounding most of them would receive from their parents if they were escorted home in a police car. The suddenly silent house made your ears ring as you looked around at the mess that was the Harrington’s family room.
Locking the front door, just in case any stragglers made their way back, and began the clean up in the kitchen. You found a black trash bag under the sink and began to bag up the red solo cups and empty bottles of beer that were littering downstairs. You had no idea what time the Harringtons intended to return home, but you doubted that Steve would be awake before midday, and cleaning up this mess felt like the least you could do.
Maybe tomorrow, when Steve was a little more sober and hopefully feeling a lot more forgiving, you could sort out the rest. Or, maybe, he’d forget that it had even happened, and you’d never have to talk about it again.
Somehow, you didn’t think you’d be that lucky.
Eventually, all of the cups inside and outside of the house had been collected, and the remaining bottles of liquor had been refilled with water and placed back into the large cabinet where Mrs. Harrington kept them. Couch pillows plumped, and sticky counters wiped, you left the trash bag outside the back door, eyes avoiding the pool as you locked up, hoping that Steve’s parents wouldn’t be home before he threw it out. Somehow, you weren’t sure he’d be that lucky.
Turning off all the lights except the small lamp by the door after you’d made a futile attempt to wash the red stain from your shirt, you made your way back upstairs, needlessly knocking on the boy’s door before entering, intending to check on him one last time before you left.
Placing the glass of water on his bedside table, you turned your attention to the boy, still lying prone on his bed, hair falling onto his sweaty forehead. Moving to sit next to him, you gently carded your fingers through it, carefully untangling any parts that were slightly knotted from too much hairspray, and pushed the long strands away from his slightly bruised face,
“Hey, Steve… I’m gonna get going.”
Like a house cat in desperate need of attention, Steve nuzzled into your touch, practically purring, a soft sigh falling from his lips when your fingers finally left his hair, “I don’t wanna.”
“You don’t have to, Steve. I’m going home. You need to rest, you’re gonna have one hell of a hangover tomorrow.”
“Stay,” he mumbled, his brow furrowing, before he managed to open his eyes, blinking a few times before looking right at you, “I didn’t mean what I said earlier. Please, stay.”
And maybe, if you’d have left, everything would’ve been okay. But those soft eyes peered up at you with such hesitation, as if he was waiting for you to decline, to sneak off and leave him alone in his big, practically desolate house, and you felt your refusal dissolve on your tongue.
“Move over, and stay on your side of the bed,” you glared, making your way around the bed, awkwardly settling down on top of the duvet and kicking off your sneakers.
“Scout’s honor,” Steve raised his hand, waving it slightly in the dark.
Scoffing, you kept your eyes on the ceiling as you felt Steve shuffle onto his back, his head turning to look in your direction, “I bet you weren’t even in scouts.”
“You’ll never know,” Steve tried to tease, his eyes feeling heavier with each passing second until finally, they closed.
You stayed stock-still until you were certain he was asleep, the soft snoring giving him away almost instantly. Every fiber of your body was telling you to leave, that he’d be fine sleeping off the drink, and his parents would never know what happened in the morning. Yet, you felt your own eyes drooping, staying closed for longer each time, unsure if it was from a long, stressful day, or from the weed you’d smoked at Eddie’s trailer.
Either way, you fell asleep soon after, the warmth emitting from the boy next to you pulling you into a peaceful, dreamless slumber.
Considering it was only June, the air around you felt too thick and humid. If this was any indication of the summer to come, you might just sit in the Slushee machine at the arcade and never come out.
Your body felt warm and clammy, and you imagined the sun was beating down on your body already, but it seemed much too dark. Had you closed the blinds in Steve’s room the night before? Honestly, you couldn’t remember.
Either way, you felt much too warm, sticky, and uncomfortable to remain in bed all day, feeling like you had your body pressed against a heater.
Your eyes flew open, the blurry image of a freckled back staring right back at you, causing you to jerk backward. Unfortunately, your legs had seemed to entwine with Steve’s, the fabric of his jeans feeling scratchy against your ankle, where your own pants had rolled up slightly, and instead of peeling yourself from the boy’s back, you woke him with a jolt.
“The hell are you doing?” Steve grumbled, finally moving his legs and releasing your own as you scooted up in the bed.
Glaring down at the boy, you realized that it wasn’t the sun that had been causing you to overheat, it had been Steve’s body. Steve’s shirtless body, “Where the hell is your top?”
Steve groaned as he rolled over to face you, and if his brain wasn’t about to pound its way out of his ears, he might’ve laughed at your expression, “Jesus, calm down. It’s just a body. You’re lucky I still have my jeans on-”
“You’re lucky you still have your jeans on,” you said through gritted teeth, slapping the top of his arm, and trying to keep your eyes at a respectable level, “What’s the time?”
Lifting his arm toward his face, Steve squinted slightly as he looked at his watch, “9:15, God, did you not even pull the blinds last night?”
Steve’s arm fell over his face, ignoring your scoff, “Forgive me for thinking that making sure you didn’t choke on vomit as you slept was a little more important than closing the blinds.”
“I think I like you more when you’re asleep,” Steve sent you a childlike smirk before he scratched at his chest, the smattering of hair catching your attention, “you’re much nicer to me when you’re not awake.”
Pushing yourself from the bed, you tried in vain to keep your eyes anywhere except a shirtless Steve Harrington, and his disgusting wallpaper that for some reason, matched the drapes, “I should get going. I don’t know if my Mom came home last night, and if she did and she doesn’t know where I am, then I’m in big shit.”
“Wanna get some breakfast? I mean, if she knows you’re out, then you can’t really get in more trouble, right?”
You considered his offer for a moment, stomach groaning as if to make a point that you hadn’t eaten the previous evening, “I can’t exactly go in this.”
Steve’s eyes dropped to where you pointed, the red stain on your shirt now matching the one on his cheeks. Scratching the back of his head, at least he seemed remorseful, “Yeah, sorry about that. I was an idiot,”
Cocking a brow, you remained quiet as you watched him shuffle from his bed and open up his chest of drawers, “But you can totally borrow something of mine, and then I can take you home. I mean, breakfast kinda seems like the least I could do after last night. But please just… let me make it up to you.”
You took in Steve as he stood, hand stretched out toward you, gripping a random shirt, eyes downcast and begging for forgiveness. A forgiveness you didn’t feel he needed to ask for. But you weren’t one to turn down a free meal.
“Sunny Side diner. I want extra pancakes.” Grabbing the shirt from his grip, you made your way toward the stairs, “Oh, and shower. You stink of beer.”
Steve had arrived at the small diner just outside of town 40 minutes later, and if you were hungry before, you were ravenous by the time you’d sat down, eyes skimming over the menu despite knowing exactly what you were going to order.
Steve had looked a little green as a plate of eggs passed by the table, but by the time his own pancakes came, his stomach had settled.
“How's your head feeling?”
Placing his glass back on the table, Steve gulped down his orange juice as if someone were about to steal it, “It’s okay, could be worse.”
You nodded, taking a long sip of coffee, staring at the boy, “You know you look like a total dick with those on inside, right?”
“It’s too bright,” Steve moaned, and although you couldn’t see his eyes, you could tell from the lines that appeared between his eyebrows that he was glaring at you.
“And yet, you wouldn’t let me drive.”
“I don’t let anyone drive my car-”
“Max did,” an amused smirk pulled your mouth up to one side as Steve finally lifted his sunglasses, perching them on his head just to give you the full effect of his scowl.
“Maybe, but I didn’t let her.”
Shrugging, you cut up another piece of pancake before popping it into your mouth, “Semantics.”
Steve, despite now having to squint throughout his meal, kept his sunglasses on top of his head for the remainder of your time at the diner.
After a moment of comfortable silence, filled only by the sounds of other customers chatting and cutlery scraping plates, Steve returned his attention to you, “Thanks, by the way. For, you know, cleaning up. And taking care of me. I was an idiot, and you didn’t deserve anything I said. I took it out on you, and I really shouldn’t have. Tommy just… He just knows how to get to me, you know.”
“It’s fine, really. I’m kinda used to the whole cleaning up after someone else’s drunken escapades, you know? Plus, it’s not like you didn’t do the same for me last year. Call it even. And Tommy… I mean, he just wants the reaction out of you. He’s an asshole, and he’ll always be an asshole. But you, you know… You’ve changed, and he doesn't have enough brain cells to realize it's for the better.”
Steve watched you carefully as you pushed around the last piece of pancake on your plate, worried that he’d caused you to lose your appetite, despite having already demolished most of your meal.
“You think I’ve changed in a good way?”
Picking up your coffee mug, you stared into the dark brown liquid, wishing you could drown in it, “I mean, obviously. I don’t hate being around you anymore.”
“I can work with that,” the boy nodded, before stealing the last slice of pancake from your plate, “I am sorry though, that I put you in that position last night.”
Taking Steve’s empty plate and stacking it on top of your own, you avoided his eyes as much as possible, “Really, it’s fine. I mean, you kinda threw a punch for me. And, you know… took two.”
“I was drunk, Tommy had an unfair advantage.”
“Oh, yeah. I’m sure that’s it. Totally.”
Steve scoffed as you stood, the boy throwing down enough notes to cover the bill and tip before quickly catching you up, “I could totally win a fight if I wanted.”
“I’m sure you could, Steve.” Your voice was a little too condescending for Steve to take seriously as if you were trying to pacify an infant.
“I totally could,” Steve grunted as he settled into the driver seat, connecting his seat belt and turning his attention to you as you began to fiddle with the radio, fingers quickly being slapped away, “You know, I already had that set to a station I like.”
“You didn’t get your fill of Madonna last night? Tell me, are you a ‘Holiday’, or a ‘Material Girl’ kind of guy?”
Steve merely glared before finding the station he wanted, his hand flying forward to turn the radio off when the familiar chorus kicked in, “Silence is good too.”
“Ahh, a ‘Like A Virgin’ kind of guy. How ironic.”
“That was pure luck, alright?”
Holding up your hands, you sent the boy a winsome smile, “Hey, no judgment here.”
“Really? Because you sound awful judgmental over there.”
“Everyone has their vices, Harrington. Cheesy pop music is yours.”

How To Get The Girl
Oscar Piastri x Zak Brown Daughter OC
"I don't even know what I'm supposed to say to her," Oscar mumbles, looking between the men that had become like brothers to him on the grid. "I mean she's a beauty, and even more than that she's brilliant. Zak was telling me how she-"
"Is a 4.0 student studying elementary education blah blah blah," Lando cuts him off, having been standing with their boss as well when he was bragging about his daughter. "Mate, you just have to pulling it together and ask her out. Buy her a rose or compliment her clothes or something," He suggests, earning a shake of the head from the Dutchman and American beside them.
"Dude, just tell her that you find her hot," Is Logan's suggestions, one that has none of the drivers questioning why he remains one of the few drivers to be single.
"Or, you could compliment her intelligence. Women always love when you compliment their brains instead of their looks," Max offers as his attempt to help, not having a ton of advice for the kid given he wasn't entirely sure how he managed to get Kelly to date him in the first place.
"Listen to Max, don't listen to Logan," The woman of the hour chimes, having approached the boys outside of the Mclaren garage without warning or detection. "Women don't want to feel like you only appreciate them for their bodies.
Lando, ever the wingman wraps his arm around Oscar's shoulders, chuckling. "You know, Oscar could use a bit more insider advice like that, do you have any spare time?"
"Spare time? I'm literally just here to smile and wave a Zak Brown's daughter," I can't help but remind, making the boys laugh. "But insider scoop? Do I know this girl, Osc?"
The Australian shakes his head no, but I can see the faint blush on his cheeks, and I can't help but feel deflated.
"Well, if you buy me a coffee I'll tell you the ins and outs of talking to women," I offer, Lo nodding on Osc's behalf.
"He'll buy you that coffee, we don't have our media panel till later anyways," Max is the one to offer a real answer, the older driver smiling down at me.
"You all are a suspicious bunch, you know that?"
"It's why they're never to be trusted," Oscar offers, making me laugh an him smile. "Are you available for a walk?"
Holding out my hand, I can't help but smile as I beckon him forward. "Come on Piastri, let's get you sorted before one of these goons teaches you how to peeve out a woman."
And he follows, the both of us waving goodbye to his now grumbling friends.
"I think you may have hurt their egos, they tend to think they're great with women," Osc jokes, not meeting my eyes.
"All three of those boys would make great boyfriends, they're sweet and caring beyond all else. But being a good boyfriend and being able to get girls are very different monsters," I offer, him bumping my side with his own.
"And what about me?"
"You Oscar Piastri, would make an amazing boyfriend," I assure. "And from the sounds of it, you may get the chance to prove me right soon, yeah?"
My heart twinges in pain, even the idea of him with someone else hurting. Of having to befriend her and stand with her in the garage and watch them be a couple making me uncomfortable.
But all I can do is smile, because he's my friend first.
"Oh, yeah," He mumbles, the words having an strong Australian hit that usual.
"So, tell me about her! What are her interests? The more I know, the better the advise I can give."
"Here, let's get coffees first and then I'll take all the wisdom you can give me, yeah?" Osc offers, but he's ducking off to the coffee cart to our left before I can even answer, simply trailing along after him as he greets the woman. "Could I please get a lemon tea and an iced coffee with oat milk and hazelnut flavoring?"
How does he know my coffee order?
He smiles down at me, eyes warm as he hands my drink over to me, his fingers brushing my own and him all together overwhelming my senses. His cologne, his smile, his eyes.
"How do you know what I get in my coffee?" I can't help but ask, his smile turning bashful.
"You order it ever time you're here and the team grabs breakfast, guess I just picked up on it," Is his answer with a shrug, acting as if its the most simple thing in the world.
But it means a lot.
"Whoever this girl is you're trying to ask out is a very lucky girl, Oscar Piastri," I compliment, his cheeks shading pink.
"Do you really think so?"
And I can't help the scoff that leaves my lips at his insinuation that it could be anything but the truth.
"Osc, you remembered my coffee order. You're sweet, you're smart, more than talented, and you have a big heart," is my justification, patting his chest.
"So, you think a girl would say yes if I asked her?" Is his next question, starting our movement away from the coffee spot and simply moving through the paddock.
"Without a doubt." I know I would.
"So if I asked you?"
"If you asked me what? For tips?" I joke, bumping him with my shoulder, but he's not laughing like I am.
"No, if I asked you out," He corrects, putting a hand out and taking my own. "I'm asking you out."
"I- what?"
"Maeve Brown, the girl I needed help asking out was you," He clarifies, eyes meeting mine as he smiles, clearly amused by confusion.
"You... like me?"
"Very much so yes," Osc nods, his hair falling into his face.
It makes me laugh, and that's not the reaction he was expecting based on his confused expression.
"You are the biggest idiot I've ever met, Piastri."
Now he just looks insulted. "Excuse me?"
"I have been interested in you since you were with Alpine and you needed my own advice to ask me out? To which I never even gave you because you just asked me out?" I explain, still chuckling at the once again bashful boy.
"I guess I just needed a boost in confidence," Is his shrugged response. "But if you've been into me that long, does that mean it's a yes?"
"You're an idiot," I repeat once more, leaning up to place a kiss to his lips. "But I'd be more than happy if you'd be my idiot."

A Neat Little Drabble
“Enjoying the smoke break?”
A huffed laugh passes his lips as he looks over his shoulder “Yeah, but I know you. You’re about to lecture me about it. I get it doc, smokings killing me, but hey, it’s on my terms, that has to count for something”
Lee sighs, leaning his elbows on the railing as he faces the building behind them, letting out an exhausted sigh. “Actually Zeke, I was going to tell you to indulge, as a treat, seeing as this new patient is a nightmare and a half”
Zeke flicks his cigarette, humming in content. Doctor wasn’t wrong, todays been one giant heart palpitation. They’re lucky they know how to handle such a case otherwise some more blood might’ve been shed. “Oh? I get permission to have a bad habit now?”
“Watch it. I'm still your superior here” Lee chides, turning to lean on the rail facing the same way as his coworker. “A little indulging will help you relax and lengthen your lifespan however, so another break would be fine with me. I myself need another thirty just to soak in everything about this one. Something is just so off, I can’t place my finger on it”
Zeke flicks the butt of the cigarette to the ground, much to the ire of the doctor who shot him a look of disdain. “So- '' the second doctor begins, “We can agree he’s horrifying. He’s so easy to let your guard down around, at least for some, and that in of itself should be a worry, but honestly what sets me off about him is this look he gets in his eyes. That look that says he’ll risk everything because he has nothing to lose, you know?”
“Yeah, but Jasper has that look all the time just from me telling him to leave the needle box alone. The eyes bother me too but not from that look. If I’d have to say, I’d say its a look I used to align with myself when I was younger”.
Zeke cocks his head, intrigued. “What do you mean? I know you’re a bit stern but as far as I know you only raise your voice at that idiot redhead and drink tea to piss Dexter off. Those eyes are that of a killer and an unhinged beast…You’re nothing like that”.
Lee wants to laugh at that. Poor thing has no idea how close to a monster he really is. But he likes this relationship, it’s normal and mutual, and he’d prefer to keep it that way. “That's sweet of you to say. It's rather odd hearing a compliment from you” he joked, facing down the buildings and roads beneath them from the balcony. No, the look in this patient's eyes was definitely a look he has had himself. A look that said he was going to kill, maim, maul and murder just to get what he desired. But not because he had nothing left to lose.
It was because he had found what he had been searching for. Once a man like him has found his soulmate, he’s bound to do horrible things to keep them. Today when he was brought in, he was like a completely demonic being. Slipping out of the cuffs, hiding in plain sight, attacking when you least expected it. He wasn’t human, he couldn’t be.
And if he is, it’s all the more unfathomable and terrifying.
“I'm always nice to you” Zeke scoffs, nudging Lee playfully “We don't have to worry about much. We’re trained and capable of handling him. Hell, I’m sure it’ll be a breeze once the rest of the staff stops getting in the way and panicking. Most of those cuts and attacks were because they couldn’t quit screaming and losing their shit”.
“Mind you that you weren’t helping by egging him on. I'd rather not see you get your knife out. I know you’re fond, but this is work, we come here to help, not to antagonize” Lee scolds, eyes turned to slits in annoyance. “You’re a great student and a great friend. I watched you at graduation. I don’t want to lose you because you too can’t keep urges at bay. That's the line that keeps us from becoming one of these patients”
“That and half of them aren’t exactly human”
“Yes, Jasper is an enigma”
The two share a chuckle, Zeke flicking his lighter as he sighs. “Well, what do we call this newcomer? Didn’t exactly get the info since the pages were spattered in blood”.
Ah, he seems to remember that the screaming wasn’t exactly that of the patient's identity. Just slashing, cackling, and terrified cries for help or aid. One would think the name of such a person would be similar to that of a beast of legend or Lucifer himself.
Lee tilts his head up to better feel the wind on his face, shoulders hunched as he speaks bitterly.
“Elias”.

Stuck With Us SK2 x reader Haikyuu!!
TW!! Abuse, alcoholism, death
A new home, a new life, and one without my dad in it. I had pretty much moved on from it now, it's been a year, but how well does one move on from the loss of a parent? Especially when he was the one that cared about you the most. My dad was my rock, my foundation. He was there for me when mom had too much to drink, when she got antsy and violent. He stood up for me even in the darkest of times, and now I was in the darkest of times once again, except this time, there was no light to bring me out of it.
My mom, she was a good person on the outside, but once we were locked up in the house and hidden behind the curtains, she was a completely different animal, a monster even.
She had a nasty habit of trashing the place. The reeking smell of alcohol staining our footprint in the new neighborhood. Though, it wasn't like anyone was going to drop by anyways, not without my dad around. Sendai was much different from this city, Kurasuno. It was bustling, constantly busy, and if your neighborhood drunk just so happened to be wandering the streets after a late night outing, it was no big deal. In fact, there were probably many doing the exact same thing. Though, not here. in Sendai, my mom was known for this once my dad passed. We often had neighbors who would tail her home and make sure she made it safely; but here in Kurasuno, she was about the only one. Our neighbors were very kind, but they weren't really around often enough to do such a thing.
I gave up on trying to help my mom months ago. I knew she would never stop, and I knew that meant a rather dangerous environment for me, too. But, what can you do in that sort of situation?
I wandered the halls of my new high school, being a second year this went without saying. Regardless of where I had gone before, this school was still huge, and the students were rather scary. My footsteps echoed the almost empty halls. Classes had let out already for lunch, and I was sort of just stuck walking around by myself. I had a hard time making friends, and going to a completely new school was not helping in the matter. I was walking, mindlessly. I wasn't even sure where I was going, but to someone who didn't care, it didn't look like it.
"oof." I yelped, looking up at whatever wall I had come in contact with. I gasped loudly when I looked up, finding the pretty face of a third year in front of me.
She flushed heavily, mumbling apologies and making sure I was okay. I nodded, though I wasn't really sure how this had happened.
"Sorry! I guess I wasn't watching where I was going!" I mumbled back, still sort of flustered and dazed from the realization of what I had done, and the impact of this girl. She was surprisingly strong for her figure it seemed. She shook her head.
"It's alright! I just wanted to make sure you're okay." She gave me a sweet smile, one that most guys would melt for. "I'm Kiyoko." She said, reaching her hand out for me to shake. Nervously, I did.
"I'm y/n, I moved here a few days ago actually-" I said, looking down at the ground anxiously. She smiled as I said this.
"Really? It explains why I've never seen you before." She said cheerfully. I nodded back, smiling slightly.
"Yeah, I'm from Sendai." I saw her jaw drop slightly.
"Why did you move here then?" She said, leading me down the hallway. Classes were going to start soon, and it was obvious I didn't know where I was going. I think she caught onto that pretty easily.
I was startled by her question. I wasn't even really sure how to answer. "We actually have family here. My mom thought it would be best to live in a place closer to them." I said. I wasn't technically lying, my dad had grown up here, but that didn't make it truthful either. She nodded slightly at my answer.
"So, have you joined any clubs then?" She asked curiously. I shook my head, not even thinking about the idea of extra-curriculars. She seemed to beam as I said this. "What are you interested in? You name it, we probably have it here!" She grinned.
"I'm actually really into volleyball-" I started, but she immediately took my hand and started sprinting down the hallway. I audibly gasped as she did this.
"I'm the manager of the Kurasuno boys volleyball team!" She said excitedly. "if you wanted on the girls team, I could probably get you a spot as soon as possible." She said, still sprinting and dragging me along with her. I found myself smiling a little as she stopped, right in front of a small area of the school hallway with a massive bulletin board. I already felt a little overwhelmed by it, but I was still excited. She shoved a sign up sheet into my hands, a pen following it quickly. "Just sign here." She pointed to the spot. "I'll make sure to put in a word for you." She said happily. I grinned up at her.
With shaky hands, I signed the page. I hadn't played volleyball since middle school, and even then, I was average at best. I was a libero on the Sendai team then, and after some pretty intense encounters with my mother after late practices, I ended it after my last year of middle school. However, now it was a perfect opportunity to get away from anymore of those encounters.
"Thank you, Kiyoko." I grinned up at her, tacking the page back onto the board. She nodded.
"Really, it's nothing. Besides, there is a boys practice after school today if you want to join me." She said happily. I agreed, having a feeling this would get me away from my mother even quicker. "What class are you in? I can come find you after?"
"I'm in class 2-5." I said excitedly. She nodded with a smile of her own.
"I'll see you after class then." With that, we were walking our separate ways.

After many entries into the wrong classroom, many strange looks from teachers, and other strange encounters with random students in the hallways, I finally made it back into the right class.
The day seemed to drag after that, school being hopelessly boring and dull. I managed to stay awake, though, much to my satisfaction. I hadn't really slept in the last few weeks because of the move, but I was at least proud of myself for staying awake.
I looked up at the clock as the bell rang, realizing it was finally time to leave. I stood, packing my things up. Just as I was about to leave, I saw Kiyoko standing in the doorway, smiling at me with her little wave.
"Hey, Kiyoko!" I said excitedly, ready to join her. She smiled back as I said this.
"How was class?" She asked nonchalantly. I made a so-so motion with my hand.
"Boring, but I managed to stay awake." I heard her laugh softly from beside me.
"That's about how it goes." She agreed as she led me down the hall and out of the building to the gym. The sound of balls slapping the gym floors became louder as we finally entered. I saw some guy with a buzz cut yelling something to a ginger headed kid, who couldn't be any older than a middle schooler. I was a little nervous now, but I was smiling at the sight. "Welcome to the boys volleyball team." She half sighed. I giggled at this.
As she spoke, the buzz cut kid looked up, and I swore I could see hearts in his eyes as he looked at Kiyoko. She groaned beside me.
"Kiyoko!" I heard him yell, running towards her. She sidestepped passed him with ease, leading me further into the gym.
"She's so hot when she ignores me." I heard him mumbled. I couldn't help but snort.
"Is this a normal occurrence?" I asked curiously, an amused grin on my face.
"You learn to get used to it." She said plainly. I laughed a little harder at the deadpanned expression on her face, definitely proving that this was a normal occurrence.
She led me into a small office to the side, showing me around. I could feel the stares of the boys on my back, but I didn't let it bother me too much. They whispered about who I was, what I was doing here, and why I was with Kiyoko.
"They aren't very good at keeping their thoughts to themselves." I muttered, still very amused. She rolled her eyes.
"Anything but." She said again.
After her little tour, she sat me down on the bench, a notebook positioned in her hands as well as a little pen. The coach was nowhere to be seen, but Kiyoko assured me that he would be here, that he was usually late anyways. When he finally had shown up, the slapping became more prominent. as practice had finally started. I watched in awe. The team had split into two, a black haired guy who's name I learned was Kageyama was the setter of one team, the ginger being on his side as well as the buzz cut kid who's names I learned were Hinata and Takana.
I looked to the other side, watching as they were getting pummeled by quick attack after quick attack, though it was never entirely successful. My eyes stopped on a gray headed boy. He was tall, effortlessly attractive. and damn good at what he did.
"Who's that?" I asked Kiyoko, a little breathless as my heart was pounding out of my chest. She smiled slightly at my question.
"That's Suguwara Koushi, he's a third year. He's been the setter of the team up until this season when Kageyama joined the team." She said. "Why?" She asked.
I flushed slightly at her question. "He's pretty damn good." I mumbled. She chuckled softly, knowing that wasn't entirely why I was asking, but she didn't pry.
For the rest of the practice, my eyes were practically glued to Sugawara. I wasn't even doing this intentionally, and I think that's what messed my head up the most. Every time he spoke, my eyes darted to him, every time someone yelled his name for a set, I watched him. I was infatuated not only with his skill, but whatever drunk his parents had been feeding him to make him so plainly beautiful.
Kiyoko thanked me for coming, and even offered me another invitation to tomorrows practice, one which I immediately agreed to. Not only were these boys skilled, but it also gave me a chance to get away from home. That, and Kiyoko and I had started to become a little closer, and for that, I was immensely grateful for.
I walked home alone that night, as the moon peaked from behind the clouds and shone down upon me, as if a new beginning had come. Hopefully by the end of the week, I would know if I was on the girls team, and by then, I might have a shot at playing the damned game again myself. If there was anything I got out of watching the boys practice, it was that I wanted to be on the court again. My love for the game had started with my father. He had played he high school. In face, he played here on this team, in the gym that I had just been in. I couldn't help but smile softly at the thought of my dad's presence being in that gym, as if his spirit had sort of led me back to him somehow. As I walked through the doors of my new house, my spirits were immediately broken as I saw the already trashed state of it. I let out a soft sigh as I walked up to my room, setting my things down and immediately plopped onto my bed. In mere moments, I was asleep.

T | 793 | m/m human/werewolf | sequel to 'shapeshifting' but this time I'm not pretending it's not Steddie | cw: a little drug related oopsie but everyone's safe | getting together
He wouldn’t call himself a recluse, but he certainly wasn’t a social flower. He’s only been to frat parties for mere minutes until he sold out of his stock. A mostly monster party? Where everyone was fully shifted and in the open? Never.
He watched them be themselves, no hiding from the conservative faculty or parents, or students, even. No pretending they were civilized humans. Here they were all uncivilized students, no matter their species.
Aside from the new features of his peers, he found a lot of food and drinks he hadn’t seen before. And drugs. He’s been eyeing a certain shroom that seemed to be popular with other party-goers. The girl handing it out catches his eye and offers him the baggy to pluck out from.
It’s blueish and doesn’t smell anything, but before he can take it in his mouth, there’s a growl in his ear, and the shroom gets slapped out of his hand.
“Wha-”
The growl grows, making him flinch and back away, straight into a broad chest and a stronghold of hairy arms.
“The fuck are you guys doing?!”
Despite the music, the room goes quiet.
“Shit, Steve-”
He growls back, teeth clasping in warning.
“Dude, it’s just some shrooms-” Eddie tries to dissolve the situation, but the hold only tightens to the point of pain. He gasps, but Steve doesn’t seem to notice.
“Just shrooms?! These are poisonous to humans!”
“Oh.”
He looks at the inconspicuous funghi, still held by the girl, now white as a sheet.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know he was human-”
“Well, maybe you should fucking ask!”
Realizing this isn’t going to get any better until they leave the situation completely, he pushes against the chest, backing away from the group. Steve doesn’t budge at first, so he turns around his tight embrace, trying to find his gaze. The grip tightens, ribs creaking against each other before the werewolf finally looks down.
“I need some fresh air, let's go,” he says, and Steve gives a tiny nod. He growls one last time to the group and finally lets himself be pushed towards the door.
"Thanks for saving me, man," Eddie says, once outside.
"What if I was too late? You can't just take any drug in your sight!"
His instinct was to argue, but he knew Steve was right. Besides, he was still shaken up.
"Okay, sorry, I promise I'll only take my own stuff. Or triple-check if what I'm taking is human-friendly at least."
Steve huffs and his hold only tightens, and it’s too much.
“Dude, you’re choking me.”
“Shit, sorry.” Despite his words, he’s reluctant to let him go. Eddie doesn’t like the loss either, but they sit close on the porch stairs instead. It’s quiet, weird.
“Couldn’t they sniff out I’m human?” he asks eventually, recalling the argument from earlier. Steve flinches against him.
“Too many monsters around, the smells are hard to discern. Besides…” he hesitates.
“What?” Eddie turns to him, curious.
“We’ve been hanging out a lot. You smell wolf-ish.” He cringes and kinda collapses on himself.
“Okay…” he draws out, trying to decipher what that means. “Have you been rubbing off on me? On purpose?”
“No!” he immediately denies, offended. “Yes? Maybe?”
“Dude! What the fuck?” He asks, trying to hide that he’s mostly amused. Partially thrilled.
“Not on purpose! At first.” The werewolf rushes to explain, leaning away a bit to look at him properly and gesticulate with his hands. “It’s hard not to… scent someone… when you’re having sex, okay?” he hisses through his teeth. “But then we kept hanging out, and it just… happened?”
“You gave me your hoodie,” Eddie says with sudden realization. “Were you marking your territory?”
“What?! No!” Steve seems scandalized, but he goes red in the face, and shoves at Eddie half-heartedly. The man just laughs.
“Dude, that's so hot!”
“Right,” the wolf scoffs, expression going sour.
To placate him, Eddie places a hand on his knee and squeezes. Trails up higher.
“I mean it,” he says.
“Oh.” Steve looks at his hand, then up into his eyes. “Oh, okay.”
“Do you guys also pee on each other? It’s not my thing, but I’d consider it.”
The wolf’s face tells him everything he needs to know. His smile turns into a grin.
“It is?” he asks, incredulous. “Damn, now I’m really, really thinking about it.”
“Dude,” Steve whines, claws scratching at the porch wood. “You can’t just say shit like that. We’re not even…”
Eddie hums, thumb tracing the denim stretching over the wolf’s thigh.
“We could be. Would that be much different from what we’ve been doing?”
“Man, I hope so,” Steve chuckles. “More kissing and sex, for starters.”
“That definitely could be arranged.”
He leans with a smile.

Abecias Malice Ref (God OC Ref Sheet Remake)
(Edit: Had to pic the drawings a bit bcs I FORGOR I HAD THE FACIAL HAIR AT 30% OF OPACITY LIKE THE MORON I AM!)
AND HES DONE!
After a few days this gae bacon-haired moron is finished & tbh I like this new ver of him more than his original design. (If you wanna see his original design the link is here- (Plz remember the post is pretty old on here as well as the pic bcs originally this fella was actually a Early b-Day gift for my frend back when this year just frikin started.)
& yes that is some wine coming out of his mouth. (He loves his wine) & of course.... Bro is flipping u off. (But it's censored, also I originally was gonna draw a bird crossed out but then I forgor SO LETS PRETEND ME FORGETTING WAS INTENTIONAL & NOT SOME GOOF I COMMITED!) Look we a bit of somewhat vulgarity even if I'm not the person who would just curse. (But I do say byastord, which this guy is, so its fitting.)
Also Lil rewrite of his bio bcs frik u:
|| Name: Abecias Malice (aka Adder'Synn Malkovich) | Gender: Male (Trans), He/Him | Age: ?? (Died at the age of 22-23) | Sexuality: Gae | Height: ??'?? ft (Possibly was 6'2 ft tall when alive) | Enithcity: ?? (Possibly was a Rozokeen/Osmort mix when still alive) | Personality: A very unhinged & crazed individual who seem to have a unhealthy obsession with men & himself?? Seems to really like seeing oeppel die yet despises getting himself dirty to the point that he will literally start avoiding anything that has a SINGLE speck of dirt! What im saying is, hes narcissistic, sadistic, & also very lazy & wants others to do stuff for him. (Also is very racist to bird ppl idk, why though) I Occupation: The King of his kingdom of Vallenfholt (This is Godhome's hew name) | Family: ?? (When alive he had a older brother, a younger sister, & 2 parent but one of them was ded) | Species: Bloopmo (Halflett type) (Formally), Ascended God | Other: Can't seem to get drunk from the wine he always drinks EVERY SINGLE FRIKIN DAY! Is literally a rich pompous a-hole who despises the porr, homeless, & ugly ppl. Also thinks the mailmen are coming for him /hj ||
(A lot of the info here is not filled on purpose bcs gods... dont really care about mortal nonsense.)
Extras: Was originally a college student (or whatever he was when he was still alive) pretty much dealing with a pretty ab*sive father who would not respect his identity & was basically a complete snake. Although one Adder just.. snapped & ran off the campus to drive to his father's house &... kill him... But that was not the end of it, by the next day he had murdered around 12 people & injuring 2 (that being his now ex- bf & his now rival) only to be killed by his once best friend, Hugo.. When he died his soul was sent into the ring of Wrath but over the years, the regret he had turned into pride... He enjoyed what he had become... Not only that but his personality had started to shift, become extremely lustful & abnormally greedy to also having his appearance be shifted also, this was normal for a Sinner, but this Sinner was different... He risen up the rank & eventually became a God, not a well known god but a God nonetheless. Eventually going up into Vallenfholt & making a kingdom there which suited his needs. He however became so obsessed with himself that he pretty much just lost it & became the thing he originally despised the most... A rich, greedy, & selfish monster like his father was. Not only that anyone was below him was eventually killed instantly in the arena that he built for prisoners (Usually bcs he didn't like bcs of their appearance) to fight to the death in. Now as for how the hell he became obsessed with men & started to h8 on bird ppl (+ the whole thing about the mailmen coming for him... idk bro-). Now keep in might he was BoRN in a time humans (the morons from earth) did NOT come to Eeross.
Also if you wanna see the uncensored puc of the guy flipping u goofs off then here- (plz click read more but if u are offended by ppl flipping u off plz don't.)
Yeh no body pic bcs this is a friend's oc (that I made for em) but it would be VERY WEIRD OF ME TO POST THAT! (Even if we are AroAce & its a *full body ref* but plz don't ask me to post it in respect of MY FRIEND!)
ANYWAYS CREDITS BCS I H8 MYSELF! (Not really but I sorta do.... I need help-)
Character: Created by ne but belongs to a frend of mine who I'm gonna keep anonymous but they are on here (I ain't gonna say who BCS THEY ARE MEANT TO BE ANONYMOUS!)
Art: MinE
Program: IbisPaint x.
Bubs' TOS: Plz don't repost/steal, trace, or recolor my art WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! If you do, I'll take yur femur and pelvis.. SO, DON'T THINK ABOUT IT! hohhhh my god i'm going to throw up
i haven't done one of these in a while but let's go
i didn't cry once out of the millions of times i watched the ep6 fight but top trying to reconcile with mew made me sob so hard i had to pause it (it might have something to do with being on my period but still lmao)
obviously mew still hasn't heard the whole audio and this episode is the first time i've truly been disappointed with the writing lol if mew really never hears the full audio and doesn't get the true depths that boston stooped to i am going to be so fucking pissed
(although it might be that a scene is missing and nick really did play him the full audio idk)
k it happened i officially hate ray now lol how was that not rock bottom and how is sand even CONSIDERING letting him drink after he's "recovered." take everything the fuck away from him, pour it down the sink. AND HE STILL THINKS HE'S NOT AN ADDICT SERIOUSLY FUCK THIS GUY
more than ever i don't care about sandray lol although it looks like sand has something up his sleeve, re: that thing with ray's dad.
the vibes are so rancid in that last scene that part of me does think that mew is playing ray and i really hope i'm not wrong but the preview sure makes it seem like i am since it looks like ray's going to get mew high (seriously fuck ray i'm done with him throw the whole man in the dumpster)
i really want nick to leak the video lol i'm not convinced that mew wouldn't be that nasty after what he said to cheum, i just think he's biding his time to keep his honor student status
really glad that i wasn't wrong about mew not fucking anyone and love how uninterested he was in gap like bro wouldn't even kiss him
and... why would mew go through all the trouble of getting it if he were just going to prove to boston that he's the bigger man? he could have just bluffed. i think boston's going to look at the usb and it's going to be empty or something. mew's just biding his time
as for the preview, my mouth is dry seeing book in a "daddy's li'l monster" shirt i won't survive i was so distracted i didn't even notice that it was top who was laying him on the bed at first
hhhhhh i'm so horny for forcebook taking care of each other when drunk i'm soooooooo here for it

Shake It Off
When Steve stepped out of the bathroom, leaving Nancy to… freshen up, he hadn’t wanted to see Jonathan Byers right after. But nothing ever seemed to go his way after that slimy monster attacked them, did it?
It doesn’t matter. Just shake it off, man.
“Hey, Steve,” Jonathan called to him meekly. “Have you seen Nancy? She invited me, but I haven’t seen her since I got here.”
It’s probably not what you think, Steve. Shake it off.
“She’s in the bathroom by the kitchen. She’s gotten pretty drunk so you should probably drive her home,” Steve replied, deadpan, trying to keep his voice even to avoid making a scene.
Jonathan cocked his head. “You aren’t taking her?”
Trying to think of any other excuse that wasn’t ‘we had a fight and the sight of her right now makes me want to scream,’ Steve replied, “I’ve been drinking too, man. Don’t wanna get a DUI.”
Without another word, they parted ways. As Steve was walking away, he heard Nancy delightedly exclaim, “Jonathan!” His chest clenched, and he attempted to stop the scowl from darkening his face.
Shake. It. Off. Steve!
Although he hadn’t realized he was doing it, Steve made his way to the kitchen to grab another drink. Beer wasn’t really cutting it anymore, but he remembered seeing someone dump vodka into the fruit punch, so he poured himself a hefty cup of the stuff. If he was going to stick around this party, Steve certainly wasn’t going to do it without adding a little artificial fun.
Once he had started feeling the buzz of the alcohol fogging up his brain pleasantly, Steve joined the thrum of people in the living room dancing. The current song was one that Steve couldn’t remember the name of, but he knew that he loved it!
While the kind of dancing everyone else was doing seemed to revolve around nodding their heads, tapping their feet, and just generally trying to look cool, Steve let himself loosen up. It was like he became the center of attention, feeling the music move through him as he matched the beat with his body.
And it was fun! Way more fun than if he decided to go straight home and mope around in his empty house because Nancy didn’t love him.
The thought of Nancy sobered him up a little, though. Now he was at the point where he could hear conversations happening around him.
“I saw Nancy Wheeler leave the party with that loner, Byers. Harrington really can’t make them stay. Imagine losing your girlfriend to the same guy twice.”
“You’d think after dating half of the female student body he’d figure out how to get a girl to like him for more than just a quick fuck.”
Steve tried to lose himself in the music again.
“Harrington really fell off, huh. That weird fucking dance makes him look like a barfing cat.”
“Literally! I can’t believe we all thought he was cool. This is so lame it’s sad.”
For some reason, Steve found himself sinking back into the feeling from before. He was having fun. He was making his own dance up, and it felt great!
Soon, though, the song switched to something with a different beat, and Steve had to find the rhythm again. When he opened his eyes to get a better grip on his bearings though, he was looking directly at Eddie Munson standing in the corner.
He looked unimpressed and generally disinterested, and Steve frowned. It was a really bad look to have someone unhappy at your party. Sure, technically it wasn’t Steve’s party, but as the proclaimed “King of Parties,” he was basically his duty to right this infraction.
Before Steve even realized he was walking, his feet led him straight to Munson, stopping him too close for the average person’s comfort. He started drafting what he was going to say, trying to find the right combination of words that would get Munson to have fun, but instead…
“If you’re here for weed, your Majesty, I’m afraid I’m fresh out of stock for the night,” Munson drawled, watching Steve with guarded eyes.
“What?” Steve blinked once. Then twice. Oh… “Ah, right. Weed.” Ever eloquent, that was where Steve’s mouth decided to shut off.
Munson raised an eyebrow at Steve suspiciously. “If you weren’t looking for weed, why are you standing here?”
“You’re not having fun,” Steve stated. Come on, get to the point, Steve!
Putting on a theatrical face, Munson sing-songed, “What an astute observation, my Lord! Though, I do regret to inform you that this is strictly a business venture. Nobody has fun when they’re conducting business, my Liege.”
All of Munson’s fancy words were kind of fucking up Steve’s ability to get the words he wanted to say out of his brain and into his mouth. “Huh?”
Munson sighed, obviously becoming fed up with Steve's conversation skills. “Did this conversation have a point, or did the braincells I lost while standing here just die for nothing?”
“Come dance with me!” Steve finally suggested.
“I beg your everloving fuck?” Munson answered, his face twisted in several different complicated expressions.
Steve grinned. “You’re not having fun, so come dance with me! I wasn’t having fun a couple minutes ago, and now I feel great!” He paused for a moment and frowned. “Though I guess that could’ve been the vodka…”
Munson pinched the bridge of his nose and grumbled under his breath, seeming just to himself, “Why are you even entertaining this, Eddie? Get a grip!” Then he relaxed his shoulders and looked up, staring at Steve calculatingly as he said, “So let me make sure I got this right. You, Steve Harrington, are inviting me, Eddie Munson, to dance with you in this crowded room full of practically every popular kid in our high school.”
“You know, you have really nice hair,” Steve replied instead. “What conditioner do you use? It looks so soft.”
Squinting at him like he had two heads, Munson finally relented and snarked, “It seems like someone should be chaperoning you right now, so… I guess I can rise to the occasion for once.”
Steve beamed at Eddie and led him deeper into the mass of people so they could be closer to the music. Once he found what he deemed to be the perfect spot, Steve let himself feel the music once again. He wanted to get rid of all that other shit.
The gossipmongers at Hawkins High always start shit at every opportunity. Sometimes the most basic things get circulated through every rumor mill, and Steve had given up trying to plaster on a fake smile and put on a show.
Suddenly, Steve turned to Eddie and said, “Hey, you’re against all that conformist shit, right? Like doing your own thing or something?”
“Yeah, man… I am,” Eddie replied carefully.
Steve smiled, hoping he figured out how to get Eddie to really join him. “That’s what this is. Dancing like an idiot because it’s lame and so fun and I don’t have to worry about anyone else’s… bullshit.”
Eddie hummed, watching Steve appraisingly before his lips quirked up into something a couple of degrees off of affection. “Alright, I think I can get behind that. Wanna pretend like we’re the lead singers of this band performing a sold-out show?”
Brightening considerably, Steve pumped his fist. “Hell yeah!”
Once Steve gave his approval, Eddie whipped out an air guitar and started strumming viciously, his motions not at all synced up to “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” Steve grinned and picked up his own fake microphone, tilting the stand around like he was Elvis Presley while he headbanged aggressively. Cyndi Lauper was not an artist people would usually headbang to, but it was fun, so Steve was doing it.
Naturally, people started to stand and gawk at their display, but their confused and disgusted looks only seemed to fuel Eddie’s energy. Hey, that’s what Steve had been trying to do! Getting Eddie to join him was definitely the right choice.
Matching Eddie’s enthusiasm, Steve leaned in closer to him to share the microphone as if they were singing a duet. Eddie snorted out a surprised laugh at Steve’s antics, but he still joined in with the charade.
Even when people started whispering around them, Steve didn’t care anymore. Their words slid off of him like water off his back. Plus, Eddie looked like he was having fun too.
Steve was starting to forget why he had been so upset before… Eh, it was probably just some stupid bullshit anyway.

Notes: I love writing unhinged college aus Disclaimer: Please remember that this is an AU and a work of fiction, obviously the idols mentioned/written about in this story would never partake in these actions. The idols mentioned in this work are meant to be seen more as face claims rather than the actual idols themselves.
Feedback is greatly appreciated!! Thank you for reading!
"Shots! Shots! Shots! Shots!" The crowd chanted around you and you took a deep breath.
"This is so fucking stupid," you shook your head with a huge smile and downed another glass while Jaemin howled in front of you.
"Let's fucking go!" You heard Jeno shouting somewhere.
"Oh fuck," Jaemin stumbles on the table slightly and you hold him up.
"Careful, humpty dumpty, can't have you falling off and breaking that beautiful ass of yours," you laughed.
"FYI, I'm dressed up as Werewolf, not humpty dumpty," Jaemin's words had a slight curve to them.
"Right, right, boring," you helped him down the table, grabbing another shot glass on the way while you sat him down. "Look around, Jaem. Slutty Bunnies, Slutty Nurses, and Slutty Monsters everywhere," you gestured the whole room.
"And what are you supposed to be again?" He eyes your oversized T-Shirt and thigh highs.
"Slutty college student, duh."
"You already are one, that doesn't count."
"Okay, rude!" You playfully shoved him and laughed, "anyway, how are you holding up? I know parties aren't usually your thing, but I'm glad you came out with us anyway!" You handed him the shot glass and he smells it before drinking it.
"I'm fine," he looks around. It's true, of the friend group Jaemin tended to stay away from these kind of things, but after hearing you, Jeno, and Haechan loudly describing your escapades, Jaemin got an intense wave of FOMO and he decided, fuck it, he's going to go with you all to the next one.
But all it did was remind him how much he hated parties.
Especially when all the lights suddenly shut down.
"Boo! At least turn the music back on!" Someone yells.
"Jaem?" You put your hand on his shoulder to keep track of him. But, as soon as your hand touched his arm, he felt this intense wave of nausea rush through him, and he swallowed down whatever bile threatened to come out. "You okay, bud?"
"Mmhmm," he answered weakly. He shuts his eyes tight and turns his head upwards to ride the sudden discomfort and finally, when the lights turned on, the headache subsided. But it nearly came back when he heard all the screams around him.
"What the hell is going on?!" Someone shouts. Jeno rushes toward you both.
"Guys?!" He looked frantic.
"What? What's wrong?" You felt yourself sobering up quick.
"I can't... I can't take it off!" He tugs on the hook on his hand. He decided to do some overly sexualized Captain Hook and, while it was funny at the time, he looked near crazed trying to pry the hook off his hand.
"Okay, okay, you big baby, hand it over here," you take his hand and start tugging on the hook, but nothing happens, it doesn't budge one bit, "gee, Jen, you really shoved it in here, huh?"
"I guess so but everyone's having trouble taking their costumes off!" He looks at Jaemin and reaches for his ears.
"Dude, don't touch me," Jaemin swats his hand away and Jeno gasps.
"How'd you do that?"
"Do what?"
"Those ears moved."
"No, they didn't."
"They're moving right now!"
"They're not!"
"(Y/N), back me up here!" You look between them and you reach for the wolf ears on Jaemin's head and, when you tugged on it harshly, Jaemin winced.
"Ow! Don't pull my hair like that."
"Jaemin... I didn't pull your hair," you said quietly.
"What?" He looks at you, but your eyes were glued to the top of his head. Jaemin grabs his phone and looks at himself on the screen. "Holy... shit."
"We all just merged with out costumes," Jeno panics. "Well, all except (Y/N). What are you supposed to be again?"
"Slutty and broke college student," you shrugged.
"Oh, well, that's already you so there's nothing to change into."
"You're both bitches for that!" You groaned.
"But dog! You became part-dog!" Jeno exclaims.
"No, this can't be happening," Jaemin slipped out of the chair and stated pacing, and he heard you gasp behind him. "What happened?"
"Babe! You have a tail!" You reached for it and Jaemin instinctively pulled it away from you. But, realizing what he just did, Jaemin looks down at the tail that swished from side to side. "Holy shit."
"Holy fucking shit!"
"My boyfriend's a werewolf!" Your excitement betrayed your concern.

This is Part One of my Twst MC!Overblot story for one of my Yuusonas. It's been a long time since I sat down and actually wrote anything, so sorry in advanced for my awful writing. I'm gonna pretty up this post later. I just wanted to get this out. Let me know what you all think and if you are interested in a Part Two!
________________________________________
Tired. He was so tired. No matter how much sleep he got, it was never enough. No amount of naps that Leona suggested he take when he saw the dark circles under the Prefect’s eyes changed anything. No amount of soothing teas Riddle had gifted him in the hopes that it would give him respite helped. Everyone could see that something was wrong with the beloved Prefect of Night Raven. Even Grim had tried to make his hench-human skip a day while the feline monster went to classes for them. Nothing helped.
It wasn’t a tired where he needed more sleep. No. This was a tired that was bone deep. Like an ooze that clung to Yuu’s soul, threatening to suffocate him. Dragging him down into a black pool where he no longer had the strength to fight as he sunk deeper and deeper. He couldn’t focus. He had no appetite. He had no energy. Yet he tried to convince his worried schoolmates that he was alright. He would bounce back. Yuu would muster up as convincing a smile as he could, but his more perceptive friends weren’t convinced.
He was alright. He had to be. A pillar of strength can’t crumble.
It can’t crumble…
“Pup!”
Yuu’s head snapped up. Professor Crewel was before him with furrowed brows and concerned eyes. Glancing next to him, Jack was also looking at Yuu with an equal amount of worry. Sighing and shaking his head of the rest of the fog, Yuu placed down the vial of potion ingredients that he had been unknowingly staring at.
“Sorry, Professor. I got lost in thought,” Yuu apologized with a smile that had too many teeth.
The two magic users didn’t look convinced with the way they quickly glanced at each other, but they didn’t pry.
“It’s fine, Pup. I came to tell you that you are excused for the rest of my class. The Headmage would like a word with you in his office.”
“Oh? Ah… alright,” Yuu stammered before shedding his lab coat and glasses. Grabbing his bag and waving a quick goodbye to his fellow first years and Crewel, Yuu hurried out the classroom - not before hearing in the background Crewel’s signature whip and Grim’s whine that he couldn’t go along with Yuu.
The hallways of Night Raven College with their twists and turns had become familiar to Yuu in the months that he had been there. Friendly portraits that waved or gladly struck up a conversation used to unease the Prefect, but - like everything else in this magical world - he got used to it and now enjoyed it. It was a world of endless discovery beyond the college’s walls and the island it shared with their rival school. A world full of magic, beastmen, fae, ghosts, and who knew what else.
A world… that he didn’t belong in.
“Ah~! There’s our wonderful Prefect! Come in and have a seat!” Crowley enthusiastically greeted once Yuu had entered his office. Said Headmage was seated at his extravagant desk with the portraits of the Great Seven floating above him. Yuu gave a small smile and nod in greeting to the crow-decorated man as he took a seat in front of the desk.
“You wanted to see me, Headmage?”
“Yes, of course! But before that, I can have one of our chefs bring up a snack or a drink for you. Aren’t I so kind?”
Yuu declined the offer. Something was up. The Headmage was known for being a little flamboyant and downright manipulative with his “kindly Headmage'' act. Sure it had helped with some situations that had happened when Yuu’s classmates didn’t want to help solve them, but the entire act was exhausting for everyone. Then again those situations should have been handled by the Headmage instead of his students.
Having Yuu decline his offer, Crowley’s cheerful demeanor sank away into an air of uncertainty. The black mask upon the man’s face made it hard to see what he was thinking, but his slumped shoulders and laced fingers upon his desk made him look… regretful? Hesitant? Crowley let out a deep sigh.
“As you know, I have been looking meticulously for a way to send you back home. Even spending my winter vacation looking into the matter! Every book, every scroll, every tome. Not everyone would be so kind as I to help you find a way back to your world. But-” he let out another sigh, “- I’m sorry, Yuu. There is no way to send you back home.”
Cold dread ran down Yuu’s back and froze every nerve in his body. The words the Headmage spoke punched the air from his lungs and stabbed at his thumping heart. The world around him fell away into a black abyss, ready to swallow him whole.
‘There is no way to send you back home.’
‘There is no way to send you back home.’
‘...no way…back home.’
Again and again those words echoed inside of Yuu. Words that formed a chain to drag him down into hopelessness.
“Not all hope is lost!” Crowley’s words pulled him back to the real world, “I’m not so cruel as to kick you out of this college. You are still one of my precious students! I still expect you to be the first magicless student to graduate from this prestigious school! Of course, if you stay in Ramshackle during summer and winter breaks, I will have you do tasks for me to earn your keep. Aren’t I so kind~?”
Too lost in a daze to understand the words that Crowley spoke, Yuu just nodded and fought back the tears that wanted to run down his cheeks. Seeing the Prefect silent and in shock, Crowley hesitated in what to do next. Clearing his throat, he rose from his chair and went to the large window at the back of his office. He stared out the window to the courtyard of the school below all while tapping his finger on the handle of his cane. The Headmage cleared his throat once more after a moment of silence.
“You are dismissed, Prefect. Take a few days off classes. I’ll inform your professors,” he said, his voice solemn and soft, as if speaking any louder would be a sin.
Yuu’s body felt like lead as he stood. His school bag was all but forgotten as he left the office; his feet dragging with each step.
The bell had rung to signal the end of class, and the hallways of the school filled with students. The mass of people swirled into a mess of colors that Yuu trudged through like an encompassing fog. If anyone said anything to him, he wouldn't have heard them. If they bumped into him, he would just carry on forward like nothing happened. The faces of his fellow students became blank. Nothing. He couldn’t see who was who. He needed to get to Ramshackle. The mass of swirling colors was suffocating him. He couldn’t breathe! Before he knew it, Yuu was running through the hallways and out the front of the school. His lungs burned and his mind raced with nothing but the words the Headmage said to him looping again and again. He made it back to Ramshackle with the door slamming behind him.
Ramshackle was silent. Empty. All there was was Yuu’s own labored breath and pounding heart. The trio of ghosts that Yuu had come to think of as friends weren’t there. They had gone out to do who knows what. It was for the best.
Yuu’s legs shook violently before they gave out. The boy slid down the door until he sat against the wood. His throat tightened and long overdue tears cascaded down his face. Yuu let out a broken sob. Then another. Then another. He hugged his legs to his chest and buried his face in his knees. What was once a silent dorm was now broken by the sobs of its Prefect.
Minutes? Hours? Yuu didn’t know how long he let his sorrow and despair out. When the tears finally dried, any energy that he had left was gone. His limbs felt numb. He felt numb. Getting up wasn’t what he wanted to do. But he needed to. He needed to get to the bathroom to wash his face of any sign of his sorrows. Grim would soon be coming back to the dorm. The golden rays of the setting sun through the windows meant that classes had ended a while ago. Yuu didn’t want Grim to see him like this.
Yuu’s body trembled as he got up. His limbs felt so heavy that he needed the walls to support him. Going up the stairs and to his room was like climbing a mountain. Making it to the bathroom, he leaned over the porcelain sink trying to catch his breath. When he looked up, he saw his face.
Dull, lifeless brown eyes set in a pale and clammy face. His eyes were red and puffy with dark circles under his eyes. Dried trails of tears stained his cheeks. Even his mousy brown hair was limp and dead against his head and neck. Grim may be oblivious sometimes, but even he would know that something was very wrong.
Turning the faucets on high, Yuu washed and scrubbed away any traces of his tears and even hoped that it would rid him of the dark circles. Grabbing a towel, he dried off his face.
“I’m fine. Everything’s okay. I’m fine… I’m fine,” he muttered like a mantra at his reflection, “I’m fine. I’m… fine.”
“Liar.”
The sudden voice shocked Yuu, making him whip his head around to find who it belonged to. His brows furrowed when there was no one else. No Grim. No ghosts. Not anyone.
“How much longer are you going to lie to yourself?” the voice questioned, its tone sharp and bitter. Yuu swallowed down his unease.
“Who’s there? Where are you?” he called shakily.
“Behind you.”
Yuu looked back at the mirror and his eyes widened. What stared back at him wasn’t him. It wasn’t even human despite its silhouette being human shaped. A face nor any defining features could be made out as if the being was made of darkness itself. Drops of darkness fell off of the being like droplets of ink. A pair of white shapes that resembled eyes narrowed at Yuu.
“I’ll ask again: How much longer are you going to lie to yourself?” the being’s voice demanded.
“I’m… I’m not lying. I’m fine,” Yuu answered, his own voice not sounding convincing to his own ears. The being in the mirror didn’t like Yuu’s answer as it slammed its hand against the barrier separating them. The loud bang made Yuu flinch and take a step back.
“Stop lying!” it snarled, “We both know you aren’t fine! You haven’t been fine since you ended up in this place! If ending up in another world wasn’t enough, every single one of them just made it worse!”
“‘Them?’ Who are you talking about?”
“You know who I’m talking about. Every single one of your so-called classmates. Your professors. That annoying feline. That lazy, manipulative man who calls himself the Headmage of this place! That’s who!”
“They’re my friends!”
“Friends?!” the being let out a hysterical laugh before mockingly saying, “Of course they are! What great friends they are to have treated you like dirt beneath their feet before you had to risk your life to even earn an ounce of respect. All because you are a magicless freak from another world!”
“You’re wrong!”
“And don’t forget about the Overblots! How unlucky you have been to be in the center of every single one of them. I suppose lucky for them since you’re the one who saved them. Not bad for a magicless student! You would think they would at least thank you for saving their hides, but nope! Nothing! Too good to apologize to the magicless worm after everything they put you through!”
“Shut up!”
“Let’s recount everything that your so-called friends have done to you, shall we? Mocked you, belittled you, attacked you, stolen from you, roped you into their mess, kicked you out of your own dorm, threatened you, hypnotized you, lied to you, poisoned you, put you through absolute hell, cast spells on you, used you, and to top it all off you are stuck in a world where you don’t belong!”
“Stop it!” Yuu screamed. His labored breaths filled the bathroom. The being’s words were… true.
Everything that it had pointed out had happened in a never ending barrage that assaulted Yuu since the day he was pulled into Twisted Wonderland. It hurt. It grasped at his heart painfully yet he just went about his days as best as he could. They never apologized to him. They never asked him how he was doing. All they did was give him pitying looks or went about their days like nothing happened. Like he hadn’t been hurt by any of it.
Yuu’s lips trembled and his eyes welled with tears once more. He couldn’t do it anymore. He couldn’t be the pillar of strength that he hid behind when the cracks threatened to topple the whole thing down.
“They’re all so selfish, aren’t they?” the being said, its voice quiet and comforting, “You did everything for them. Gave them your heart. Been kind and there when they needed you. You gave them promises that you kept, but they took away your chance to fulfill your first promise. Your most important promise. Your promise to her.”
It was like a shard of ice pierced his heart. Images that he had buried away came back to the front of his mind. A lonely home. A woman with a kind face that morphed into a sunken and sick look. The beeping of monitors. A doctor’s words. The promise Yuu had made.
A promise he now couldn’t keep to the most important person in the world.
“Yuu! Come on! Let’s go to dinner! I’m star-” Grim’s voice cut off when Yuu turned to look at him. The cat monster’s eyes widened and his ears flattened.
Down Yuu’s face dripped black ink.

Monoma stared at y/n, blinking once,,twice before speaking up "w-what the fuck?!" He practically yelled, still taken back by y/n showing up to his house like that and also beaten up? Now, he was curious on what the fuck happened to them. "I-its fine if you don't want me here, I'll just leave…it was a stupid idea to show up here-" y/n mumbled and as they were about to turn and leave, Neito spoke up again. "NO- I-i mean- just get your ass in here-" he grumbled, moving aside as y/n stared at him, trying to see if he was lying or not before stepping inside. "You have to tell me what the fuck is happening though" Neito grunts as he noticed how they tensed up. "Just sit the fuck down for now-" he grumbled, making his way to the kitchen as he tried to sort out his thoughts. Taking a deep breath, he took some frozen peas out of the freezer before returning back to y/n who surprisingly listened to him and now was sitting onto the couch.
"Here, it will bruise more if you don't do anything about it" he threw the frozen peas at them, watching how they caught them. Y/n gently placed the peas onto their black eye hissing at the contact from it. The whole time, y/n was avoiding eye contact with him and Neito had noticed it.
Shuffling towards them, Neito huffed "okay, explain yourself. First you don't answer me, then ditch me and you know damn well that we have that project and now you show up at my house, calming that you don't have anywhere else to go which you could have went to your friends house but didn't, so start talking" he huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. Why did he care in the first place? Honestly, he wasn't too sure but he wanted to know why. Why was y/n doing this?
Y/n let out a sigh, moving the frozen peas off of their face still avoiding eye contact. "I wasn't at school today any my phone died" they mumbled, but they didn't stop there "if I tell you what happened, just promise.. not to laugh or anything like that?" Y/n asked as Neito rolled his eyes "i'm not a hearless monster now spill" y/n seemed to hesitate about this, fiddling with their sleeves as they kept their eyes down onto the ground.
Few minutes passed by when y/n finally began to talk.
"So..how do I say this- uhm-" they bit their lower lip "just..don't say this to anyone..because noone knows.." they added, glancing over to make sure that Neito agreed. "It…it was my dad-" y/n whispered, hugging themselves. Honestly, they didn't know why they came here..they could have went to their friends but instead they are here..telling Monoma everything. "I got home last night, pretty late and uh-..he didn't like it" y/n breathes out, glancing over at Neito before back at the floor.
The blonde was pretty shocked to hear this and honestly, seeing y/n like this..was different. Its like they are a completely different person that he knows. "I honestly not sure why I came here instead of yknow my friends" y/n kept talking "Besides I know they would make a big fuss out of this"
"Well duh-!!" Neito huffed, surprising y/n. "Anyone would because that's not fucking right okay? I know we aren't..friends or anything but that doesn't mean it doesn't concern me. How long has it been happening?" Neito huffed making y/n shrug "honestly I'm not sure" they spoke making the blonde even more angry. "And you're friends don't know about this? Like at all?" He raised an eyebrow as y/n shook their head as no, making him huff. "Okay, first you are staying here and then Tommorow you are tel-" before he could finish the sentence, y/n cuts in. "no! Absolutely not- please do not tell them!" "Why now?!" "Just-" y/n sighs in frustration, shaking their head "just..no-" they mumbles, shaking their head once again making neito sigh.
"Okay, fine we aren't telling them. But you have to do it soon, "Neito explained, to which y/n nods their heads,"yeah I know.." they mumbled quietly, taking a deep breath to calm themselves down. "Okay, you can sleep in the guest room and i'm assuming you don't have a change of clothes?" Neito spoke, which to y/n frowns "no i dont" they spoke. Letting out a sigh, neito stood up "come on, ill show you the way to the guests room and bathroom. You need a shower to look less..like you" he spoke and y/n was too tried to come up with a combat and they did agree they didn't look too bad.
Neither of them expected this to happen but it did and honestly, they didn't like to agree but they were warming up to one another.

[Soulmage] There's two kinds of magical disfigurement. One is trollification, where your magic has gone so utterly WRONG that your body shifts into grotesque shapes. It's nasty, but it's usually fixable. The other is Elvenification, which is permanent because you can't fix 'perfection.'
Soulmage
Magic changed you. Over the countless eons since people had began consciously casting spells, humanity had splintered into hundreds of slightly varying species. The mischief-witches of old had become goblins; the Forgivers had turned into fey; and the light-wielders of the Silent Peaks had grown into elves. In typical city-boy fashion, the Silent Parliament declared that the goblins and the fey and everyone who wasn't from the Silent Peaks were grotesque monsters, while the elves of the Silent Peaks were unchangeable perfection that the entire world should strive to emulate. Goblins felt nothing but impulses for mischief; fey would let even the vilest of criminals run free; but alone amongst the varied subspecies of humanity, only the elves felt constant, pure, transcendent joy.
As the only student at the Silent Academy who had actually seen a goblin for myself, I didn't agree—but I'd gotten kicked out of class for running my mouth about it, so I didn't see any point in causing trouble.
Trouble always found me instead.
"Hey there, goblin-fucker," a voice called from behind me. I was trying to study—if I lost my place at the Academy, I lost my source of food and shelter—but the unused classroom I was using was a public space, and there was nothing stopping my classmates from heckling me as they passed by. I turned around; an unfortunately-familiar elf was lounging in the doorway, this week's girlfriend tucked under his arm. The signature halo of an elf blazed around his head, feeding off his barely-restrained glee at seeing me cornered and alone.
"Iola," I said, carefully tucking my notebook into my pocket, then turned towards the girl Iola was holding onto. "I don't think we've met," I said.
The girl blinked, surprised, then shyly smiled. "I'm Lucet—"
"Oi!" Iola let go of Lucet, swaggering towards me. I ignored him, waggling my eyebrows at Lucet instead. "I was talking to you, goblin-fucker."
"I don't see anyone by that name around here," I mildly said. I paused, then deliberately turned towards Iola and wrinkled my nose. "I do smell him, though."
Lucet giggled as Iola's elven halo flickered, irritation momentarily tainting his schadenfreude. "Stay away from my girlfriend, you Redlands freak."
"I would, but you've been dumped by so many of them. I can hardly cross the main lawn without tripping over—" I don't know what self-destructive instinct led me to keep talking when the flash of anger in Iola's eyes ignited, but I knew I'd struck a nerve by the way Lucet flinched. Iola surged forwards, a savage joy stoking his elven glow to life as he surged forwards and slammed me against the wall, forearm pressed against my throat like a steel bar.
"You know," Iola said, a drawling grin on his face, "it's not too hard to make a goblin. Just gotta pump you up with the right emotions for long enough. Would you like that? Huh? Want me to make you into one of those green-skinned freaks?"
Iola's eyes bulged with sadistic happiness, and a bolt of insight struck me like a hailstone in summer.
Elves felt gleeful all the time, even when they really, really shouldn't.
"Do... what you want with me," I choked out. "It can't... be worse... than what they've done... to you."
Iola's nostrils flared, pushing his forearm further into my throat, and I reached for the thorns around my soul to make my escape—
—but before I could, all at once, he let go.
He stared at me for a heartbeat, then laughed, heartily, wholesomely, and it was almost as if we were best drinking buddies and he hadn't just tried to choke me to death.
"You really are a riot, Cienne," Iola said, squeezing my shoulder. "You make me laugh."
Then he lifted his hand and turned away, whistling a happy tune as he walked down the hall.
I rubbed at my neck, fear finally overtaking the self-destructive energy that had been flowing through me. Even if I reported him to the Academy, they wouldn't try to "fix" him.
He was an elf, after all. There was no need to fix perfection.
Lucet tentatively walked up to me, then sat by my side. "Are you... are you okay? I know when he..." She shivered, then said, "I know ice helps. For after." She held out a hand, sorrow condensing into a droplet of cold, a question in her eyes.
I shook my head. "I'm used to it," I said. "I'll live."
She nodded, retracting her spell.
"I like to watch the moon," she blurted out. "At midnight. On the clock tower. It's supposed to be locked, but if you know the right spells, you can climb up anyway."
I blinked, then smiled. "That sounds lovely." I held out a hand. "Cienne."
"Lucet," she said, and shook my hand.
Then the two of us parted ways, our minds already drifting to other things. What we would eat, when we would sleep, how we would make it through the year.
We were only human, after all.
