That I’m pretty much out of ideas and I’m progressively getting tired of tnmn fandom

Ppl who look at my tags probably noticed that 😓

Originally I planned to do 1 comic drop and move on, but got stuck bc ppl liked tnmn comics and kept asking for more (and still do-)

Generally I don’t mind doing more if the ideas are there, but I want to address this: I’m tired

I know blowing up is usually a good thing and I appreciate people enjoying my stuff

But it’s exhausting to see that tnmn is the only type of content which is relevant, to the point that my own projects or stuff I enjoy are just kinda.. ignored

It’s fair – again my blog is heavily fandom based

(+Tsp were and still is kinda the focus)

But with tnmn fandom it’s a bit… different

Maybe I’m biased and it’s just my negative experience with tiktok comments

So I was expecting the backlash, but not that much

I think maybe tsp fandom spoiled me a bit (in a good way), bc I got a feeling that everyone in tsp was positive of any lgbt+ headcanons and just generally more supportive

(don’t get me wrong, there ARE problems in tsp community too, taking narrators design controversy into account as one of the examples)

Obviously every fandom always has it’s own issues, show me at least one fandom that didn’t have some sort of meaningless controversy or some sort of problematic people in it

But it leaves a bad taste in your mouth sometimes

And for me personally it only added to not so pleasant experience

The thing I also noticed, when I interacted with other fandoms

Ppl wrote positive stuff first and foremost, not really asking for anything

Here it’s just “hey more. I want more. Do more. Do this character. Do this. Do more.”

The only reason I kept doing more, because likes, reblogs, views – these comics get a ton of attention

there is a audience to please alright

1. Okay, I'm definitely not butch but I hope I can answer some questions. Butch is an important part of lesbian culture that's often viewed as a masculine protector, it's an identity. "Masc," means masculine and can be more viewed as the aesthetic or how someone looks. There's another term called "Stud," which refers to masculine POC (Black, indigenous, Hispanic, etc.) lesbians, and white masculine lesbians can not identify with this identity. But not every POC masculine lesbian will identify with Stud. All of these identities are equally valid and wonderful alongside Femme.

It's always important to just ask what a lesbian identifies and what it might mean to them. (Again anyone can come and add more info to this or correct me on any info.)

2. That girl should not be laughing at you and I'm sorry she did that. "U-Haul" lesbian isn't even really a type of lesbian, it's a stereotype that lesbian tend to move in together quickly. People are all learning many things at different times and you making an effort to learn is what matters. And yes, there's many labels that lesbians can fall under, but don't have to. Types or labels could include butch, femme, stud, and masc, though I personally view pillow princess as more as a sexual term, but I might be wrong about that.

3. Sadly, there's a lot of hate towards lesbians even in the community (POC and masc lesbians especially). Many lesbians are viewed in the stereotype of always moving quickly, moving in and moving on. My own personal relationship is slow moving, a decision mutually agreed upon. I would definitely say that while fanfic and movies is an okay starting place, I learned much more by talking to other people on tumblr, finding posts and articles. You could probably try to find some good educational videos to learn more. That was a lot but I want to say that it's okay to ask questions and to never feel afraid to not know something if you just don't know. You should be allowed to take it slow and anyone that doesn't respect that is an ass. People that laugh at you (maliciously) or make you feel dumb are not good for you. While they aren't obligated to educate you, I think it's important to help baby gays <3

The video ends as he’s halfway through rounding up the information for the sixth cantrip on his list. In his Five Things video. Astarion doesn’t know why, but this grates on him even more than the hideous picture quality.

As he always does, Astarion tortures himself by obsessively refreshing the page, watching the likes go up exponentially. The wizard only just posted the video — at 1am on a weekday ffs — and the likes are already in the thousands. Astarion knows that, by this time tomorrow, they'll be in the millions.

I do sympathize with what lesbians are going through, and there's a lot there that deserves to be talked about more. There's certainly a lot that the bisexual community bears responsibility for, either out of ignorance or malice or a mix.

But I can also recognize when something was posted in bad faith to demonized bisexuals.

The list you're endorsing was written by someone that on here time here championed the use of terms like dick worshiper (which she uses IN THE QUOTED TEXT you're pointing ppl to), always had excused on why harassing bihets and nuthuggers (more words she helped popularize) was actually fine, and always had ideas about why bisexuals don't actually need any community and don't actually suffer from their SSA at all ever. Ideas that are still fucking haunting gc spaces today. The "blackpills" views on bisexuals are pretty much a direct conforming response to her views and the community she helped build on tumblr and it's not a coincidence that was re-posted by yet another woman who frequently goes out of her way to attack bi rape victims and say even more horrible things about them. The continued mantra-like insistence that bisexuals and heterosexuals are JUST SO EXACTLY THE SAME is itself homophobic and motivated by wanting to dismiss our experiences with homophobia as unimportant because some of you see bi women as unimportant and it's directly related to the "playing the victim" thing that gets thrown in the face of bi survivors more and more.

That said, I am not really interested in playing the game of “omg did you know OP said this thing?!”, that’s what TRAs do and I was hoping that stepping out of their circles would mean I wouldn’t have to deal with that anymore. Just because I reblog a post does not mean that I 1. Even looked at who posted it, and 2. Know anything about who posted it. The username of the woman who wrote it is entirely unfamiliar to me.

I understand your frustration with these women and I wholeheartedly disagree with the treatment towards bi women you’re describing, I find it disgusting. But just like most people on this site, I don’t actually pay attention to who posts things or comb through their blogs. I see a post, I think it’s good, I reblog. That’s it. I don’t know the poster or their history, and this goes for anything I reblog. It’s absolutely true that a poster’s own views will change the context of a post, but I also believe that in the same way an author’s intent doesn’t matter as much as the reader’s interpretation does… once a post is out in the wild, what matters most is how it’s interpreted. It’s why all the accidental terf posts are funny. I interpreted that post as an insightful commentary on a specific kind of lesbophobia, nothing more and nothing less.

I do agree that it’s important to know the post should be read critically though, and that’s exactly what I did, hence why I made sure to point out in my reblog that I wasn’t 100% in agreement. That comment especially applies now that I know the source.

“The King’s Avatar Manhua: Challenger League Arc” has just been announced, releasing every Sunday starting January 30! That is, the new manhua will be starting to adapt the Challenger League! 

The original serialization of the new manhua (which is currently at chapter 85, right around Yu Wenzhou’s introduction) will continue to be released once a month on the first Friday of every month. 

This is incredibly exciting! Out of all the many TKA adaptations, only the live action has ever adapted the CL (and it made so many changes it was hardly an adaptation at all). The new manhua has been quite faithful to the novel thus far, so I’m looking forward to it!

this prank was very risky just like the other pranks you’ve pulled on him but that doesn’t stop you at all

you decided to do this prank after seeing it on the fyp— and also because of the prank’s simplicity since all you needed to do was download the tiktok

you called katsuki over when he finishes working out, and it all seems innocent “katsuki! come over here.”

katsuki, irritated— as he had just finished his exercise, he marches over to where you’re seated “what now, dumbass?”

“i want you to meet my friends!” katsuki only raises a brow, because he’s PRETTY sure that he’s met all of your friends

he’s stammering on the introduction, and that’s when the rather hysterical laughing starts

he blinks, the feeling of defeat courses through his entire body— the green haired boy immediately moves away from the view

why exactly is izuku genuinely sad from your ‘cousins’ laughing at him? well,, it was always a thing for him to try his very best to be likeable to your relatives

your parent(s)/guardian? they adore him. siblings (if there’s any) they’re also very fond of him. so while you say that they’re your cousins— it still means a lot if he made a good impression

“i,, should’ve changed!” he sulks, the fact that the laugh was quite hysterical didn’t aid the issue, “your cousins will never like me,,”

his mind is put at ease when you tell him it’s a prank— and they’re not actually your cousins. so he doesn’t need to do any redeeming, regardless of the fact that he ‘just met’ them

he sighs in relief, actually glad that it was all just another innocent tiktok prank (that did make his heart race 10x faster)

no but that text post abt writing being dead on tumblr - not specifically bc ppl are leaving it but bc readers don’t reblog stuff they read/like - made me think...

imagine daydreaming. and coming up with ideas on random occasions, maybe at work/school/classes. imagine that those ideas involve characters you love, ones that have fandoms and in those fandoms - big or small - there are people just as invested in those characters, in their evolution, history, everything that goes unspoken on the big/small screen, in the books/comic books. 

then imagine spending hours on a single wip, just because all these ideas, thoughts occupy your mind, they need space to expand. imagine having many rough ideas written down in some doc, imagine having many of said docs. 

and imagine that you polish one idea for days/weeks, just to get the feelings/description/dialogue perfect and fitting so somehow it becomes a story. imagine that people are interested in the idea, so you post the story once it’s finished.

now imagine getting asks/messages from people who liked your story, imagine the encouragement, the thumbs up that make you keep going. 

because it finally feels like your idea wasn’t just good in your head. the validation of your creativity, of the hours/days/weeks spent on perfecting your idea, and in consequence also your craft - which, trust me, gets better with time and with all the next stories that you write down with the said kudos from others. 

comments/messages matter so much. they are much like the ‘thank you letters’, with verbal and physical you give creators during conventions, events like comic con etc. if you got the chance to meet your favourite actor/actress/musician/screenwriter/director you’d probably want to thank them for their work, you’d tell them how their art impacted you. because creators do that to you, they inspire, they motivate us. and they need just as motivation and feedback! and then treat reblogs as those who purchased the art that those creators created. they spread a message that a certain piece of work is worth attention, that it should be read/seen/known. that it should be spread and given the - dingdingding - attention!!!

we like to take online creators - especially those who post their work anonymously - for granted. because there will always be someone willing to post their work for free for a small chance for validation, right?

what i’m trying to say is, our interests shape our lives. some of those online creators, with enough encouragement, will be brave enough to make their creative skill a part of their career, a part of their daily life. you never know how one’s life looks like. and sometimes that one message might just determine whether a creator will or will not continue to pursue their dream. we’re all just dreamers in the end.

some people think your character in animal crossing is a child and they are both wrong and stupid for this i think. they are close minded and mostly likely cis and hetero because queers don’t think like this. and don’t get it twisted i know people who aren’t cis can be heterosexual too but i’m obviously referring to a certain group of people and you know the one. i am a little cis phobic and het phobic on occasion lmao y’all are fucking stupid and squished up into your creepy box and you’re weird it blows me away. they thinking it because they’re so cis and hetero that their little brain just can’t handle having a bigger thought. (i don’t actually feel this way about ppl who are ignorant and w at to learn, we are all that person at times. i still feel like mocking and bullying cis straight people right now though lol) they can’t understand that cartoon person without big boob doesn’t always mean child. oh my person in animal crossing doesn’t have sex characteristics so they’re automatically a child because i’m so stupid i can’t understand that sometimes something is a genderless cartoon that’s not meant to be sexed or gendered. like.

and yeah if you change how your character looks in the mirror it does give a you a presumed gender choice options by makeing you check a box next to a character with short hair or a character with a ponytail but OBVIOUSLY the creators put that in to appease cis people because news flash: not a damn thing changes about your character no matter fi you check the box next to the short hair or the ponytail literally either way you look the same and either way you can wear any hairstyle and any article of clothing. like it wasn’t a mistake that they put those things into the game, it was actually a conscious effort to move away from gender norms and expectations and allow players all options to express themselves however they want to. they intentionally programmed those things in, and they also intentionally removed transphobic aspects of previous games, such as whenever a male character in the gamecube version would put on a dress, they would allow you to wear it but the NPC’s would make a transphobic comment to you if you did. they only kept in the “gender” selection option of the game in for fuddy duddies who haven’t caught up yet full stop

so yeah i think cis people are silly. also parts of this i articulated way better than expected. maybe i just needed to warm up a little lol

there was a post that popped up on my dash not too long ago that said something along the lines of "if you're only reading YA and fanfiction, you're not reading, you're consuming tropes" and i wanted to comment on it but i didnt want to reblog it because 1.) i didnt want to clog ops activity any more than it already was 2.) i dont....fully disagree, and 3.) if this point im making does end up being totally inane and the majority of ppl disagree i dont want to become the victim of a snarky comment from op that leads to me being dunked on for several reblogs

Like i said, I don't fully disagree with that point, not at all. theres a reason why filters and tags exist on fanfiction sites, and its so ppl can literally look for specific tropes. There are the occasions where you find a fic thats such a unique and well written concept you forget its not an original novel- but that's rare.

my only hold up is....thats okay? not everyone likes/enjoys reading, and fic is a good way to mentally engage in it without committing to a book.

The reason why i got hung up on this is because of a specific story from my aunt, who has been an middle-high school english teacher for over 20 years now, and from what i can tell, is a damn good one

My aunt works in a low-income area with lots of farming town kids, so its pretty conservative and VERY underfunded

and she has a rule for her classroom: you MUST bring something to read for silent reading (i think once a week but im not sure)

And she tells her students "i dont care what you bring, just bring something"

A lot of students bring whatever books, magazines, anything. She has had snarky kids bring in books obviously meant for little kids; and she doesn't say a word.

It doesn't always lead to something, but she's had several students who REALLY struggled with reading grow to love it because....they can read whatever they want and not get shamed by her. She had a high school senior bring in dogman comics and she was like hell yeah! I've heard those rock! She's had students who never read for fun tearing through series because it's easy and they aren't embarrassed to be reading them anymore.

My little sister went to a really snooty, up-its-own-ass charter school for years and its festered a literal hatred of reading in her. She wasnt allowed to bring anything "pop culture", no harry potter or hunger games, DEFINITELY not comics or graphic novels, nothing besides "classics" (my brother can testify, it was the fucking worst)

So yeah, I agree that people only reading trashy-romance ya or fanfic aren't really "reading books". Totally. And I agree that anti-intellectualism (which was forged on this website in response to people shaming anyone they deemed "not smart" which honestly was mostly just internalized misogyny“im not like other girls” behavior) Is an actual real problem, but I don't think people reading mostly fic is this horrible thing that's gonna lead to the end of intelligence online

Anyways, yeah. Read what you want. If you have the motivation, check out a book you've never read. Or read articles when they pop up on your timeline, that's what I like to do.

But don't let anyone shame you for reading, I think. Whatever you've got motivation to do, I'm sure it's still keeping your brain stimulated and helping your vocabulary.
