Logan scratch the back of her neck uncomfortably while staring at the party goers. There were too many sounds, too many smells, too much… everything happening all at once. She craved the solitude of her room; the distraction of you came to mind, maybe she could convince you to ditch the Christmas party all together and hide away from everyone.

Logan’s keen eyes seek you out and find you in the crowd. You’re dressed nice, cute; carrying a bag of presents as you distribute gifts to your friends and teammates. You looked so happy and thrilled to make everyone else happy and thrilled.

On second thought, maybe Logan should just pull a lone wolf card and leave by herself. You seemed to be enjoying yourself too much to have her pull you away for selfish reasons.

As she turns away though, she hears you call her name, hears you wrangling through the crowd, and Logan is equal parts thrilled and worried. What if you try and make her stay? Or worse, join in on the festivities.

“Lo! Logan, wait a sec, I have something for you!”

The Wolverine groans lowly. It wasn’t that she was hard to shop for, it’s just that people misinterpret what she wants, and then she feels bad about not wanting the useless crap given to her.

“Listen princess-“ she starts to protest, starts to stop you, but she couldn’t get a third word out before you toss a very small package at her.

Logan catches it mid air, effortlessly. The wrapping was buffalo plaid, no bows or tinsel or extra dress. With a questioning eyebrow, Logan gives you a look.

You stare at her all starry eyed and excited. “Well? Open it! It’s your present!”

The wolverine shift her step. “I’m not big on gifts-“

“Open it, Logan.” You demand.

The firmness of your voice makes her relent. It’s a rare occasion to see you stand up to her about anything.

With deft fingers, the wrapping was removed, unceremoniously dropped to the floor, and once the small black box was revealed, Logan worries the worst, jewellery.

Sucking in a silent anxious breath, she opens the box.

“A leather keychain?” Logan questions, also taking not of a silver knob looking thing attached to the ring.

“Open the leather bit, it’s a cigar cutter!” You exuberantly explain.

Logan pauses as you continue to ramble. “You always use your claws and I know sometimes you’re in a place you just can’t pop them out, so I got you this nice one instead! And that little silver one is a cigar puncher, you can unscrew it to use it.” You go into detail, moving closer to show off the present you thoughtfully gathered for your companion. “There in this keychain so you can add it to your carabiner. Merry Christmas!”

Logan stares at you intensely. This was… honestly the perfect gift for her. True, she uses her claws mostly to cut her cigars on the road, and if that wasn’t an option, her trusty pocket knife was always there, even if it did a shitty job. This was well thought out and personalised to her specifically. You even got a puncher, another form of to open up certain kinds of cigars. And in a fashion she could carry it with her constantly.

A little reminder of you and your thoughtfulness.

Logan purses her lips together to think carefully about what she’ll say next, all the while you stand there, pretty and perfect, waiting for her to respond.

“Thank you.” She settles on. No jokes, no smart Alec comment. You deserved sincerity at this moment. “I didn’t get you… anything-“

“Well, do you like your gift?” You ask.

She did, Logan really did. She loved it, she loved how the leather smelt like the sweat from your palms, you must’ve messed with it greatly before giving it to her.

“Yes, but-“

“Then that’s the best present you could’ve gotten me!” you chirp, delighted.

Logan wants to respond smoothly, wants to give a compliment suave enough it makes up for not having anything physical to give you, but you’re called away by a smiling and laughing Jean.

Before you leave, you rush Logan for a quick hug, which she reciprocates. The scent of you fills her and makes her almost giddy.

‘Merry Christmas, indeed.’ She thinks idly, looking for mistletoe hanging around and planning on pulling you under it.

Ellie fans, I’m sorry, no I’m not, but I’m coming for your girl. But let me start by saying, I LOVE a villain. Especially a bad ass female villain. That’s why I like Fiore and Riya. But Ellie… is not bad ass. She’s just plain petty 😶 and, listen, petty villains have their place in my heart too. But Ellie is not just petty but also spiteful. For no reason .-. And yeah, yeah, I know she needs money, she’s relatable, you would do the same for a million dollars, blah blah shut it >_> Now, let’s begin with Jake ☺️

Now, imma just say, I love Jake, I’ve been team Jake since season 1, but I’m not gonna deny that Jake is annoying. He is sometimes 🤷🏻‍♂️ but he does not deserve the fuckin… psychological torture by Ellie ._. Y’all love to say JAKE is petty and obsessive but ELLIE is the one who’s pissy at Jake for being, RIGHTFULLY, upset for ruining his relationship 😶 and it looks to me like she’s been like that… the whole time? .-. Last episode, episode 6, She made Tom and Aiden kiss for NO reason other than to fuck with Jake ._. Like, she says that verbatim 😶 Her exact words are “I suggested the idea of the kiss, but the reasoning we just made up. This might be evil, but I can’t pass up the opportunity to see Jake lose his mind again. Hey, with no tv out here, it’s the next best thing.” Like, girl! This is… just ridiculous ._. What did Jake do to you? Rightfully get angry at you for betraying his trust and completely ruining his relationship? Not even Season One Grett would stoop this low 😶

And THEN, in episode 7, the latest episode so spoilers sorry, she again uses Tom and Aiden just to fuck with Jake .-. Granted, this one gets half of a pass because it WAS an actual game move and it worked out 🤷🏻‍♂️ But was it necessary? Mm. Debatable. Speaking of unnecessary. Let’s talk Tom 😊

Ellie dislikes Tom. For what reason? I couldn’t tell ya 😶 SHE fucked HIM over, SHE trash talked HIM on national TV. Not the other way around .-. Why is SHE mad at HIM ._. And why is she surprised that Tom is generous? He was a great guy, all things considered, in season 1 .-. Know what it smells like to me? ✨Projection✨. SHE’S gonna use the money for self fulfilling reasons, so of course everyone else is too 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think Ellie can dish it but she can’t take it, know what I mean? Now, let’s talk about Gabellie. They’re very cute :3 I like them together, they’re sweet. However… Ellie, Gabby is your ONLY friend and only true ally. She HAS Tess… but like she also doesn’t, Tess could be swayed by Aiden, I feel, and especially could be swayed by Ally if they both make the merge. Ellie’s only guaranteed number is Gabby right now. So, what does Ellie do for her only ally, and, y’know, her girlfriend? Lie to her 😶 Now, listen, I understand lying to Tess, Aiden, and Tom about the villain alliance. That’s just smart gameplay 🤷🏻‍♂️ But lying to Gabby? No .-. Pull her to the side and tell her the truth 😶 Show that you trust her >_> because it’s very clear that Gabby adores Ellie with all of her heart, she wouldn’t have said a word 😊 but no 😶 Ellie lied to her. And now Gabby knows Ellie lied to her. And now Gabby could very well turn on Ellie because if she lied about the villain alliance, what else could she lie to her about ya know?

In conclusion: Ellie is a try hard villain 😶 She wants to be Fiore, Season 1 Grett, and Riya so bad and it’s embarrassing 😊

Being a child of Apollo wasn't easy. Even before the battle of Manhattan, even before most of them died, it wasn't easy.

You're constantly healing everyone; you forget to heal yourself too.

But after all they've been through, they learn to heal each other and themselves together.

What's left of Cabin 7 is sitting by the campfire. It feels lonely: they used to get these nights to sing together, and there'd be so many; it was always a mess.

Now, it was not. It was quiet, it was calm, and it was empty.

Will and Kayla are sitting next to each other: next to Kayla, there's Austin.

Will, as the new head counselor, wanted to make this right. They used to have fun on nights like this, right? But now all that was left was grieving.

He looked over to his sister, who was humming a song.

"What is it?" Everyone was now focusing on them instead as the warmth of the campfire lit them up.

But now he’s with Magnus and they just go on creative frenzies together. The rest of the Shadow World are both delighted and horrified.

Magnus is just finishing adding a pinch of stardust to his potion when the wards let him know Alexander is approaching. He’s coming in fast and he’s on the roof, so Magnus wipes his hands and goes to greet him on the balcony.

Instead of a kiss, a large wooden box is pushed into his hands and then Alexander is rushing past him, babbling too fast for Magnus to follow as his voice lowers with delight and Magnus catches about one of every four words.

“Darling, darling a moment.” Magnus says and he uses magic to hold the box as he gets his hand around Alexander’s shoulder and forcibly pulls him back for a kiss. It settles his boy enough that he stops for a moment, settles into Magnus hold and kisses back with delight before he rips himself away.

“Wait, Magnus. We only have an hour of moonlight left and look, I had a meeting in Idris.” And Alexander is waving around two boxes that explain why he shoved one at Magnus and hasn’t reached out for him once. “You said you were trying to figure out a potion involving moonlight, yes?”

“Yes.” Magnus agrees, because he would like to fuck Alexander in the light of a full moon without messing up the earth’s gravitational flow by summoning it.

“Moon lilies, from Lake Lynn.” Alexander tells him and Magnus opens the boxes reverently, delighted at the silver petals imbued with moonlight.

“Alexander, how delightful.” Magnus murmurs and then he has one of the petals in his fingers and he’s holding up, summoning a pair of platinum and diamond glasses that he perches on his nose. “The magic in these is particularly wild though it’s getting along with the angelic grace as well, remarkable really.” Magnus begins to walk towards his lab, content with the knowledge that Alexander is right behind him. “Darling, why did you bring so many?”

“I want to create a nightlight with one, for Madzie.” Alexander tells him and he sounds bashful, like it isn’t the sweetest thing Alexander’s heard. “Traditionally, we use witchlights but for children who are too young to be trusted with them, we put lilies in their rooms. To keep the shadows and demons at bay.” Alexander tells him with a smile, “it’s also used as training, to teach us to sleep while it’s light out and be awake at night.”

“How interesting.” Magnus says, because it is interesting but if he has to think about how even nightlights are a form of training, he’ll go on a murder spree and probably start with Alexander’s parents.

“Well, I’m sure she’ll love it.” Magnus says helpfully, “and we both know Cat will just be relieved Madzie doesn’t have an excuse to destroy another nightlight so she can just use magic.”

Alexander snorts in agreement and settles at the small table that Magnus has slowly insisted he claim for himself. It settles something in Magnus, to see Alexander settle into Magnus’ home and carve out spaces for himself and fill up the spaces Magnus has carved out for him.

“Now—” Magnus says as he uncovers his cauldron and drops three petals into it before stirring, “let’s see how this goes, shall me?”

“You created a city-wide affect.” Cat reminds Magnus as he lounges on his balcony and sips a martini. Alexander is exhausted and asleep on his lap and the small nightlight he made for Madzie is a platinum whale with fins and tails and body covered in runed petals. It hovers in the air, undulating in the air currents but never truly moving.

“It was for science.” Magnus tries, because Cat is just as interested in experiments as he is. She gives him an unimpressed look and Magnus sighs, “it was supposed to be an ambience booster, not a lunar flare.”

Cat taps her food impatiently and Magnus sighs, because he miscalculated how powerful using nephil ingredients would make things.

“Half of Brooklyn has been temporarily blinded, Magnus. We’re lucky it was magical, or I’d have to figure out a way to cure them all.”

Magnus scoffs, because while the flash from his cauldron was bright, it wasn’t that bright… or perhaps that had just been his wards and Alexander’s grace protecting them both.

“And why is he glowing?” Cat finally asks and Magnus is proud she’s waited so long. “You said he was fine, that he made a present for Madzie and is tired, but that doesn’t explain why he’s glowing?”

“He absorbed the first blast of the potion.” Magnus admits calmly, ignoring Cat’s twitching eye and the way her magic is starting to ravel her braids tighter. “He passed out during the second explosion, but he was already on top of me and glowing and— don’t look at me like that. I’d never risk him; his vitals are all fine.” At Cat’s stern look Magnus sighs, “I did check his vitals, but he’s also very clingy right now. He growled at me when I tried to pull him off.”

Cat’s magic reaches out and instead of accepting it, like Alexander normally does, he bristles, and the glow intensifies.

“Congratulations. You’ve fucked up and done something never before, again.” Cat tells him in a deadpan, “I love you. I’m going to go lock myself and Madzie away for the weekend.” She pauses and then leans down and swipes the glowing whales, “she’ll expect to be able to see both of you by Tuesday. So, figure it out.”

“Yes, yes.” Magnus agrees, already planning on what to do with the remaining half a dozen flowers that survived the first three experiments and Alexander’s own project. “Tuesday, I’ll have everything done by then.”

Cat sighs in exasperation, lovingly passes his hand over his shoulder as she leaves and then portals away and Magnus watches her go, an amused smile on his face.

So I wanted to ask you a bit more about Bunny and Ralph and their ‘domestic ménage’!  I find it weird too.  It’s never really clear, they seem to speak in code, then there is the separate kettles thing, that freaked me out when I noticed it, and that weird ‘Bunny’s gone’ except that he hasn’t, and then Ralph ‘Do you feel like believing that?’  What do you think is going on there…….

Honestly, I have no idea! I was very meh the first time I read about their relationship (before the car scene, of course) because I was convinced that Laurie was just blowing it all out of proportion. It seemed to me to be a casual relationship: stuff like the separate kettles, Ralph having his own apartment (even though Bunny lives downstairs), etc. all formed this idea in my mind that they were just messing around and weren't anything really serious. Now, I don’t think that’s true anymore but I’m no more clear on the intricacies of their relationship than I was before. Ralph certainly doesn’t seem to respect Bunny and Alec seems to agree that he’s not suited to him (which Laurie reiterates through his constant questioning of how Ralph can stand him). But other than that, I’ve no idea what is going on.

I think a major reason I thought their relationship was weird is because of the fact that all the information we get of it comes from Laurie, who himself feels that way but doesn’t know enough about the situation to provide an answer as to why Ralph would be in it in the first place; he doesn’t know most of the story, is only there at the end, adores one-half of the equation while despising the other…and he’s the only one we can follow along with! It doesn’t help that most of his observations only serve to reintroduce/reinforce the same two questions constantly in his mind: 'why is Ralph with someone like this?' and ‘how can Ralph stand him?’ And that's all we get as readers! It's just Bunny being odd or painfully tone-deaf (the comments about Bim) or actually evil (the car scene+what he does to Andrew) and Laurie looking at Ralph, who he adores and has been dreaming about for years, going: 'but why though?’

I don’t have many other thoughts but I would love to hear more (real, unlike mine) theories! I’m really in the dark about Bunny generally; I feel there’s lots of stuff I didn’t pick up on regarding his character because I was too busy focusing on Laurie and Ralph. Oh, and as far as the ‘can you really believe that?’ comment, I assume it’s just that Ralph is used to such things being disbelieved. Laurie himself has a moment where he thinks they might get back together so long as no one intervenes to keep them away from one another in 48 hours (I think so anyway, I might be misremembering what he said). But anyway, thank you for the ask! I'm sorry I don't have much more to say!

lucifer helped alec survive the svefnthorn - a theory

story time! i was ranting to @dustandducks about how i can't believe alec survive being stabbed by the svefnthorn (he stabbed himself but same sentiment) which was attuned to sammael at the time. sammael who, you know, is a literal prince of hell, with power only second to lucifer himself. and to add more onto this.

it is stated that only a warlock can survive being stabbed by the svefnthorn and nothing can reverse its effects. no other magical creatures in the shadoworld stand a chance against the svefnthron, except the warlock. pretty terrifying right? but this happened

alec survived being stabbed by the svefnthorn. not only did he survive, not only did there was no blood or injury or visible scar from the stabbing, but he was also able to call the thorn's power to him and used that power to help magnus. but why? how could that happen? we already established the power of the svefnthorn, and it was clear alec was not meant to survive it. i love alec, i would absolutely do something that ends me up on national news if it would make him happy, but i know his ability. he doesn't have extra angel blood or any blessing from the angels, or any secret gift that makes him exceptionally powerful, he's just your normal level shadowhunter

even alec himself was surprised when he realized he was not burnt to a crisp due to his 300 IQ decision-making skills. and i know we have the explanation about the alliance rune smoothing the thorn's demonic magic and alec's angelic magic to work together, but once again, how? we don't have a clear exposition for this, even from characters in the story

alec didn't know it would work, magnus didn't know why it worked. everybody's best guess were fate taking it easy on them. and for sammael-

he just...left, like how corporate taking down their pride flags the second pride month is over. no rage, no murder, nada, just disappeared into space. he also seemingly non fazed by the fact that alec survive a thorn with clearly anti non-warlock embedded to its manual.

@dustandducks raised a really good point, what if someone else, some higher power meant for alec to survive. the usual, and maybe logical answer would be angel looking out for their descendants, cause alec need to fulfill a greater destiny in the future. im going to play the devil’s advocate here and suggest that lucifer popped up and gave alec a little demonic magical assistance. this conspiracy somewhat tied up the loose ends in the lost book of the white and built some interesting story beat for the wicked power and the black volume of the dead

the twist fitting to what we already known from tlbotw

maybe the reason why sammael didn’t snatch alec up and put him in some demonic science lab in his realm is because he sensed lucifer’s presence and decided not to mess with anything lucifer was cooking up. (as lucifer is more powerful than him, which is also stated before the stabbing scene in tlbotw) it can also tied in sammael’s motive of gathering other princes of hell to talk about lucifer in the epilogue. tlbotw was setting up the grounds for tbvotd, magnus escaped becoming a greater demon’s minion leading to alec becoming the minion of a greater greater demon

how the twist affect the future events in the tsc universe

one might be thinking, why would lucifer saved alec, he just a normal shadowhunter, why would the literal mega ultimate OG devil care about him? as much as i would like to say it’s because everything revolve around alec and everyone love him (as they should), i know it’s not the case.

many have speculated that in the final series, there will be a showdown between demons and the shadoworld. and what if lucifer wanted to infiltrate the enemy’s side, wreck them slowly from the inside and make them suffer at the hands of their kind. his spy should held high position, a major voice among the children of the angels and has a connection to the downworlders, and someone who wouldn’t pose as potential suspect easily.

enter alec who fit all these criteria and more. who would think their consul is under the control of lucifer and is working against them? if alec under the influence of lucifer wreaked havoc from the shadow, it could create more base for the cohort to claim that they were right and the clave in exile would suffer under an incompetent lead, causing animosity and conflicts in the already tense political situation. and when the truth comes out? chaos everywhere. lucifer didn’t even have to lift a finger to see the shadowhunters crash and burn

you were there. happy and a little older, but you looked less worn. like you no longer carried such a devastating weight that i know you've been saddled with long before you ever should've been. we were happy. i was so confused as i walked down the hallway, filled with gorgeous pictures we must have framed...there was a child laughing...i think that's why i was confused the most, i haven't had dreams like this, or even thought of a family since our scare...but when i got downstairs...oh grant, there she was. our little girl, laughing on the kitchen counter, making a mess with you. it appeared so real...felt so real.

i still miss you at times, grant. please, don't ever think that because my life has continued that i forget you, or everything we did together. you're my family. part of my family here and that will always be true. kassy and i are better. i understand why she was hurt when nick and i left to look for you, i can understand the anger and pain she felt in how we left her, especially for you. i love you still, i don't know if that will ever change, but you're not at the forefront of my thoughts anymore, haunting me. & most importantly...you are not here. kassy is. bellamy is. alec. nate. trinity. atom. liv. they're all here and i'm finding more of myself. i'm pouring into those i love who are here and i'm pouring more into myself again. bell doesn't love it, but i started a new business here. exacting justice, giving a little payback. it's brilliant and growing fast. word on the street lately is that i am who you go to when you're stuck between a rock and a hard place. i was tired of being too late, of not being helpful, of the people i love the most...being hurt in ways i can't keep stomaching. this is how i fix that. how i do my part in it.

but I have to admit, there are parts that worry me. i'm sure that'll worry bell if he notices it. but the violence, the cruelty, the darkness of this world—it's getting easier to manage, easier to duel out. I'm changing grant, but i also think i'm becoming who i need to be.

Tipiskaw Mall: A Disventure Camp AU

Been thinking about creating this for a while, and I decided to finally get it out there.

This one's kinda like a florist AU, but a bit more than that. The main focus is Ellie and Gabby, cuz c'mon it's me we're talking about, but there's some other characters and stuff I wanted to bring into this too. I'm always open to see people experiment with this AU, just be sure to credit me.

The basic gist is that a good amount of the Disventure Camp casts all work at a mall owned by Kristal together, and frequently bump into each other on shifts. It's because of this that a love starts to blossom between a bartender and a florist.

These are a few of the ideas I'm sticking by now:

Ellie

Pretty similar to canon. She's your average ordinary low-class citizen. She works a tough job as a bartender at the local bar in the Tipiskaw Mall. She works long and hard shifts with unruly customers and an awful boss (we'll get to him). As a result she's constantly stressed and exhausted, and not really happy with her lot in life.

However one day she happens to discover that a new florist's has opened in the mall. Ellie happens to love flowers, especially fragrant ones - so she decides to check it out, and boom, she meets the owner, who happens to be the prettiest girl she's ever seen!

From then on, Ellie passes by the florist's every day on the way to and from her bartender shifts, just to get some time to say hi to her new friend - and she's got a few friends that'll help her out along the way.

Gabby

Gabby is a more recent employee at the Tipiskaw Mall. Still her quirky, bubbly, nature-loving self, she's the owner of the new florist that has recently opened in the mall. She specializes in the most sweetly fragrant flowers she can get her hands on, and she knows a thing or two about the language of flowers as well.

While she's quite kooky and a bit on the socially awkward side, Gabby is an incredibly kindhearted individual who is happy to let Ellie come and visit every day - she knows it makes Ellie happy. And in return, Ellie comforts her over her insecurities - this isn't the first job Gabby has had, and the past few jobs she's had didn't exactly end well for her. She has some regrets with her past actions - but Ellie will help her face them. (Won't say too much here, but she probably has hurt at least ONE person who was cruel to animals.)

Every morning when Ellie comes to visit, Gabby gives her a bouquet of some of her favorite flowers as a gift - simply to let her know she's got her support. The two become incredibly close - and maybe something more can 'blossom' between the two of them.

Yul

Surprised to see this guy here? Rare time I mention season 2 :P

Yul is Ellie's boss. A lazy individual, Yul is quite the penny-pinching and cruel boss, basically giving Ellie minimal pay and using the rest of his cash for party binges. He's also not really one to care for stopping stuff like bar fights - he's only really here for the cash and the good laughs.

Yul is also incredibly strict. If Ellie messes up even a little, he won't hesitate to absolutely lash her with beratements. He also forces her to do janitorial work at the end of each shift. This is mostly because the last janitor left due to being sick of Yul's attitude. Ellie would've done the same, but she's in such a bad place in her life that she needs SOME form of payment every day.

Yul pretty much immediately takes a disliking to Gabby for her bubbly, eccentric and kooky nature, and forbids her from entering his bar. As a result, Gabby ends up needing to sneak into the bar whenever she wants to see Ellie there. Over time, Ellie will learn to stand up to Yul.

Alec

So I know he and Ellie ended up on iffy terms in canon but idc I'm still letting the two be on good terms in this AU

Alec owns a local bookstore in the mall that isn't far from Yul's bar. Having been through a divorce already in this AU, he's mostly looking to his future by working a job he enjoys. He's trying to convince Ellie that she can do the same - she just finds it tough breaking the cycle and escaping her bartender job knowing the difficult life position she's in.

Alec works alongside Grett, who is about as cantankerous and rude as she is in canon. He often needs to tell her to behave when she's making bad comments about Ellie, Gabby, or other people. Also hanging out at his job is Fiore, who mostly just runs around causing trouble and makes witty commentary on other people's bad decisions. Fiore has also picked up on the crushes Ellie and Gabby have gained on each other and just wonders when the hell they're gonna stop dancing around their feelings and actually start dating!

I'll go over some other stuff just in brief, cuz I don't wanna be here all damn night lol

James and Aiden are the co-owners of a local phones and electronics store. James is still a popular influencer, who self-funds all his crazy challenges through the profits from his store. Aiden, who's already been dating James for a while, is there to make sure James doesn't accidentally light himself on fire doing his challenges. They're both pretty good friends with Ellie, and she often turns to them for relationship advice.

Tom is the mall cop. Diligent and cool-headed, he's quite talented and is usually there to prevent any bad activity from getting out of hand. He frequently chases down Fiore whenever her trouble is getting too much, and comes to help Ellie when bar fights get out of control at Yul's bar. He's also one of the earliest people to make friends with Gabby, along with Ellie.

Jake is the manager of the mall's Hot Topic. He's still his emotional and impulsive self, and has a relationship with Tom. Tess is his co-worker, and she's usually able to help talk Jake and Tom through their relationship troubles.

Ally owns a local rental store for movies and video games. She works with her boyfriend Hunter and the poor former film actress Riya, who is still trying to find roles.

Karol owns a pet store where Gabby hangs out frequently. As you'd expect, Karol is grumpy, but she does get a soft spot for Gabby, and admires her passion for nature and animals. She helps convince her to work up the courage to ask Ellie out.

And Lill owns a toy store where Ashley, Will and Rosa Maria are her employees. They frequently end up having trouble with Fiore whenever she comes around with Alec. Lol.

Those are all I'm coming up with for now, but I'm sure I'll cook up some new ideas in future posts! Keep your eyes peeled - I'm pretty fond of this idea!

Ok, I've only just watched Broadchurch and haven't even finished it yet but I said this from the first episode.

Ellie and Alec's relationship. It is very divided, a lot of people ship them, then again a lot of people don't.

But this is my theory: Since the first episode, when they started working together, you could see they don't stand eachother but at the same time get along great, but never would either think to admit it. A sassy duo, inseparable but can't stand eachother. Always fighting and throwing around pointed spiky comments. But you see how much they actually care for eachother.

Especially in the last episode of season 1, when he directed the phone signals to his mobile. Ellie just thought he was being a dick, like he always is, and I missed it at first too... But he directed the signals to his phone because he already had a suspicion who it was, he was quite certain and he wanted to be the one to tell her.

In season 2 as well, he tries to warm up for her.

When he offers her a hug, Alec is not a huggy person, we all know that, he will go out of his comfort zone for her.

But Ellie said no and it made him more cautious I find. In several scenes you can see the look he gives her. You can see it makes him unhappy to see her sad, but all he does is ask if she's ok and nothing more because she rejected him last time and doesn't want to make it awkward again.

Ok but I just want to say, I don't ship them too hard, romantically. They are best friends, Ellie's a person he trusts completely, someone who shows some fondness and affection for him. And she's grateful for him being there, especially during the trial in season 2, when Beth, who she would have usually talked to, turned on her, she had someone to talk to -(who wouldn't always listen and be a bit of an arsehole but generally, he was halfway understanding).

And aaaaaaarrrrrggh, the last episode of season 2. I think we can all agree here the "I'm not hugging you" hit hard. You could see he wanted a little bit more, maybe...? We all know our man Hardy is awkwardly affectionate, it's not exactly his strong point now, is it? But y'know, if he's leaving Broadchurch, maybe never to return (we know that he does, or at least they meet again. There wouldn't be a season 3 otherwise but we're thinking in-character here) he might want something more because she does mean more to him. She helped him find himself again, showed him some affection or fondness when he needed it most and nobody else would. She helped him back onto the path when he was alone aimlessly wandering through the foggy woods.

And when Ellie said: "Don't be kind to me, that's not how it works." That was cute how she didn't want to leave yet, wanted to wait for the taxi. Yes, that is what friends do. But my theory (could be just a hope cuz I ship them a bit and they need to be fucking fluffy or I will not survive) at the moment is: Ellie is used to him being an arse and she won't admit it, at least not to him but she will miss him. And I think she doesn't want him to be nice because she's trying not to show how much it means to her. Cuz that's I dunno, how them two are. Slightly confused, huh? Oh ye, can say that again. But he has been nice to her in subtle ways that she hasn't noticed and vice versa.

I'm sorry to all the non-shippers but I do think there have maybe been a few sparks between them. You can't deny it.

Alec is touchstarved. He loved Tess you could see that. They still care for eachother and he wanted to go back and tried to fix it. Stitch it up because he wanted someone to love and someone to love him. He fell for Tess and was happy falling. Would've loved to fall forever. But Sandbrook brought by some turbulence on the way. And it was like Tess smashed the ground into him. It came too soon. He wasn't looking. He wasn't expecting it. And it left a bloody mess on the floor and a broken man recovering from it.

But this accident leaves him scarred and he's scared of falling again. He is literally dying of a broken heart.

But I see him wandering towards the edge for Ellie. He's close, I think. But not wanting to, not letting himself make the same mistake again.

I see them as being fluffily awkward and sassy to eachother. But maybe - just maybe - in one scene where Alec says: Oh, Miller, I could kiss you. Yes. I admit, I was hoping for something.

They would kiss like once or twice but find it fucking awkward and never do it again.

As in besties but a slight bit more? But not too romantic?

I don't know if that makes sense but that's how I would describe their relationship.

My sister and I have come up with a simple way to put it: platonic romantic.

Tattletale had unwittingly raised the stakes for my scheme. My primary goal was to gather information on them, and here I was getting a chance to see them with their masks off. It was too good to be true, which made me wonder what kind of safeguards they had in place to protect themselves.

she so extremely picks up on things being Weird she just does not put all the pieces together. and i would possibly even go so far as to guess that i'll be reading it as willful ignorance soon enough. it's not Here, because she doesn't have enough details, but once she starts hanging around w/ lisa while lisa cheerfully flaunts how Fucking Much she knows only intermittently interspersed with conveniently-timed calming remarks about her purported limitations? that's getting into wilful ignorance territory for taylor imo.

anyway it's really funny that the answer here wrt the safeguards is that brian and alec are presumably just like. [completely oblivious] sure lise that sounds like a great idea we're down with that :). while lisa is over there girlbossing in the general area of the sun fully ready to lie to her team about taylor's motives and manipulate taylor into a "corruption" arc while making little jests and japes for her own amusement the entire time. and it does explode a bit on her later due to Unforeseen Circumstances in the hospital. but overall not her worst girlbossing-in-the-vicinity-of-the-sun moment by any means. i love how she is managing the undersiders on levels they are not aware of i love how she is in agony and experiencing the horrors always i love how she does Not interact with them without manipulating them for what she views as the greater good/success and happiness of the team literally ever. lisa...

Tom Disventure Camp needs a time out >_>

I made a post before DCAS started about Jake where I pretty much said, to sum it up, ‘Sure he’s a mess but he’s a justified mess 😊’ now that All Stars has started airing… I have some thoughts 😓. I’ll get to Jake another time. Maybe 😊. This is about Tom. Because I have a bone to pick with Officer Tom <_<

Let’s start with a flashback to Season 1. I cover the gist of what happened between him and Jake in the aforementioned Jake post. But what I didn’t mention is at the END of Disventure Camp season 1, Tom and Jake have a final conversation and they agree that they while they both still have feelings for each other, they shouldn’t get back together yet because they’re both pretty messed up. Jake asks if he’ll still talk to him and Tom says “I think we should take some time and grow as people. We are on the right path, but starting anything could ruin that. We’ll see where we are later in 🙂” and earlier in the finale he’d promised to keep in touch with Miriam. Sounds promising no? :3

Come All Stars, we find out Tom hasn’t talked to Jake OR Miriam at all in the last two years! ._. Now, listen, Jake and Tom’s relationship was… tumultuous. To say the least. And Tom DID say they should take some time apart. But he did NOT say… ‘Hey let’s go out of our way to avoid each other like the plague’ 😶 All Jake wants is clarity on where they stand. Are they friends? Are there still feelings between them? Is there even a chance they can reconcile at all? That’s all Jake wants.

If Tom can’t give him that, he should just say that. If Tom doesn’t want to be Jake’s friend, he should just say that. If Tom has moved on with someone else, say it with me now, he should just SAY that ._. And the kicker is… Tom was the one who got onto Jake so hard about communication in season one! .-. Now, Jake is TRYING to get Tom to talk to him and nothing .-. It’s understandable if Tom is still hurt over what happened in their season. All Stars has shown he can still hold a grudge with Ellie. But if he IS hurt… You know the pattern 😊 He should just say that >_>

Oh ho, and I’m not done. It gets worse. On top of avoiding Jake like the plague… He’s also being a massive hypocrite in regards to Jake 😶 In episode 4 the challenge is to get a sandbag and bring it back to the starting point, and the other players can use any means necessary to get the bag from you. Tom takes and throws Ally’s glasses then ALSO trips Grett later on. When Jake tackles Aiden to get the bag he has and gets the point, Tom gets petty and says ‘Wow! Real nice Jake 🙄’ .-. Tom… come on now ._. You know you’re being a dumb ass 😶

Episode 6, our latest episode, Ellie insists for their performance the two couples, her and Gabbie and Aiden and Tom, HAVE to kiss at the end of the song. Now… I don’t think I have to hold your hand and explain to you why that’s fucked up 😶 Especially because she EXPLICITLY said the only reason she did it was to psychologically fuck with Jake .-. Ugh >_> Sorry, this ain’t about Ellie, this is about Tom <_<. Tom, in a confessional, says “I haven’t talked to Jake yet and this kiss with Aiden will make it even weirder between us than it already is (who’s fault is that Tom >_>). What should I do? >_<“ And it’s like… Gee Tom… I dunno. Maybe you should TALK TO JAKE! ._. And yes, I know they’re on different teams. But Alec pulled someone from both of the other teams to form the villain alliance soooo… not like it’s impossible to talk to people from other teams .-.

In conclusion: Tom is pissing me off >_> Jake is on the rise, and I love to see it as a Jake lover and defender :3… Okay Jake has had his annoying moments too >_> but lately? Tom is the more annoying one 😶

 Coming home was the hardest part, almost as hard as dealing with the fallout of Al's worst habits, if Barbara was honest. She could deal with those (some of those, at least) ever since they were both in primary school; not a writer and her agent but two girls, one with a predisposition for annoyance and bursts of anger, and the other with a motor for a mouth that could get her out of almost any trouble she'd cause or get tangled in.

 No... cleaning up Al's messes was, if anything, the only art she truly excelled at.

 But coming home -Al's home- and feeling the bubble of night excitement mixed with booze burst by the eventual presence of her husband was such a sour pill to take, she hated it. And, only in her weakest, most inebriate moments, she would hate him.

 What did it matter if Alana ran off from party to party into the night? It was good for business, she argued, and it wasn't like she was alone! She had her best friend and best agent on her side, god dammit! Did he not trust her to keep her safe? Bold words from someone that only knew her for a couple of years when they've been together practically all their lives!

 Alana laughed at her side, a tsizing sound that betrayed her drunken state, and Barbara wondered if she said that last part thing out loud or not. Probably not. Hopefully not.

 "Anyway, Al," she continued, slurring her words on pair with her feet, stealing a couple moments more with her, "What, what I'm trying to say is..."

 "Is...?" Her best friend dragged, in the sweet middle point between encouragement and mocking.

 "I just miss you, is all!" Alana snorted, stopping on the hallway to lay her back on the cold wall, dropping her coat on the floor in the process.

 "Barb, we see each other all the time, we, we work together" Barbara joined the wall at her side, her now naked arm warm to the touch.

 "I know! I know, but..."

 "I think you just miss crashing at my house." She laughed, a bit harder than she anticipated.

 "Hey, can you blame me? You have a gorgeous place, despite your hubby's tacky photography." Alana rolled her eyes, but the smile didn't waver. Barbara's did, only when she realized the sudden light under the door at the end of the hall. God, did he had a sixth sense? What was he up for, anyway? It was late. "I just miss having you around off the clock, is all..." With him always skulking around, she didn't say, sighing instead. "Remember how we used to do movie nights and stuff? When was the last time we had a girls night at your place, huh?"

 "We should have a girl's night." Alana nodded, booze and sleep tinting her words as she leaned her head on her friend's shoulder, both of them ignoring the fact that they've been going out nearly weekly by now. Alana liked the alcohol, and Barbara loved to see her friend happy. Alec wasn't fond of either, apparently, for when the door at the end of the hallway eventually opened the eyes that met Barbara's were cold.

 "Alana...?" And just like that the warmth at her shoulder ceased, as the other woman turned to meet her lover with a dopey smile.

 "Hi honey. I love you." His face softened, and Barbara rolled her eyes.

 This was her cue to quietly get away if she didn't want to hear a mouthful later, yet as they said their soft greetings Alana didn't move from her spot at her side. Her skin burning now with inevitability.

 Barbara shook her head and that thought off her mind and instead decided to say goodbye on her own terms. She wouldn't give Alec the satisfaction.

 "Well. Guess I'll be going then." She stated, slowly bouncing off the wall to stand upright, grabbing Alana by the waist so neither of them would fall down by the inertia. A faint noooo came out of her mouth as she slightly wavered on her grasp, like a tree by the wind or some other colorful metaphor that she'd use in one of her books, before the extra height that separated them fell to meet her in a lazy departure hug while she nuzzled her neck.

 Laughing, Barbara wrapped her arms tightly around her friend, squeezing her for good measure, and then some more at the sight of her husband standing still on the threshold, waiting for his lover to finally say goodnight and come back into his loving arms. He'll have his time later, she thought, as she sank her face on the nook of her shoulder not quite ignoring but pointedly defying his gaze.

 In nights like this, Barbara almost wanted to be selfish. To snatch her up in the name of a concerned agent for the ever growing popularity of her star. It was a matter of business, nothing personal.

 And yet, when an idea sparked on her mind she was too drunk to pretend there was no ulterior motive behind it.

 Without dislodging herself from her thinner frame Barbara pulled away just enough to face her, cradling her head with a proud smile shinning through. Alana's eyes were so glassy, yet immediately lighted up at the gesture.

 "Hey, Bestseller, you did good today, you know, right?" Fingers affectionately running through her long hair made her friend hum, smile sliding as easily as hes eyes closed with content, until she finished with a chuckle. "Zero broken noses and I didn't have to call the lawyers once!"

 "Hey!"

 "Kidding, kidding."

 She chuckled again, before taking a breath. Biting her lip, she wondered. And without thinking about it too much -she swears- Barbara angled Alana's face a bit to plant a kiss on her warm cheek. Her friend's hands still idly wrapped around her waist pulled her closer as she heard her make a noise, between a content humming and a surprised giggle. Alana got affectionate and touchy-feely when smashed, couldn't Barbara be the same? Couldn't she kiss her cheek a second too long, her touch linger on her skin a moment too much?

 When she parted her cheeks were red, partly flushed because of the alcohol but mostly for the matching tacky lipstick mark she left on her wake, something burning on her chest that she refused to acknowledge most days but could easily distinguish as possessiveness in that moment.

 Oh, her best friend was so pretty, like that.

 Her best friend.

 Breathing in that picture Barbara smiled, fondness washing over her as her best friend beamed. She really loved seeing her happy.

 "Night, Al."

 "Night Barb..."

 Finally letting her go from her embrace, it was Alana who paused to look at her before looking at the window, ignoring the way Barbara locked eyes with a now beyond pissed off Alec behind her back as she called the elevator. She expected her to leave now, and instead she asked:

 "You sure you'll be okay, going home at this hour?"

 Barbara raised an eyebrow, lightly wondering what would the alternative be and trying not to enjoy Alec's reaction in the background.

 "Don't worry about me, Al. New York is not as bad as it is in your books, most of the time."

 As the elevator's door finally opened with a charming ding Barbara stepped inside with a last hand wave, a smug smile escaping her lips in private while hearing the remnants of conversation between her dear friend and her husband.

 "What the hell was that?"

 "What...? Oh. You know how Barb is."

 "I can't believe she'd just-"

 "Relax, that's what girls do"

 Oh, he really was fuming, wasn't he? Mirth filled her for a second as the voices faded away, giving room to the mechanical sound of the building followed by the roar of the city life, persistent even at the supposed death of night. Embarrassment would come later with a hangover, alongside hints of guilt for disturbing Alana's precarious marital situation further. She really disliked seeing Alana unhappy... and Alec, well, dealing with him after an argument was always a drag she tended to avoid.

 But for now, Barbara quickly fastened her scarf as the cold autumn wind hit her without the human warmth of her best friend at her side, the faint scent of her perfume the only reminder of her presence, as a goofy smile crept on her lips at the memory of that crimson kiss.
