letter 32.
nick's determined to find you, bring you home. i wish there was something i could say to him that would help him with this, in coping with losing you...because while i hope against hope that you'll come back with us when we find you...i know already. i know you won't return with us. i know that. but nick doesn't. he does his best to hold onto the hope that bringing you back will fix everything that went wrong since that man. i think his hope is getting into my soul, working it's way into my dreams because when we finally stopped at this crap motel tonight after hundreds of miles...i had the most vivid dream. so real that when i woke up....my heart ached for it.
you were there. happy and a little older, but you looked less worn. like you no longer carried such a devastating weight that i know you've been saddled with long before you ever should've been. we were happy. i was so confused as i walked down the hallway, filled with gorgeous pictures we must have framed...there was a child laughing...i think that's why i was confused the most, i haven't had dreams like this, or even thought of a family since our scare...but when i got downstairs...oh grant, there she was. our little girl, laughing on the kitchen counter, making a mess with you. it appeared so real...felt so real.
god, nick's hope is infectious and dangerous. this won't be our life and i'm devastated by it...i know i was terrified about being a mom, terrified about possibly having a child but...i wish you knew that if i could go back, i'd make sure you know that one day.... a family with you would have been my dream.
letter 19.
i hate you so much for leaving. for doing this to me. to nick!! to the family we created here. i hate you, grant. god i hate you so much and worst of all, i hate myself even more because i still love you. i still love you so much that if you showed up here right now, right this second...you know i'd fold into your arms, and tell you how that everything's going to be okay now. i write that and know how fucked up that is. how could you do that to somebody you love?! how the hell could you promise to love me, to never leave me and after everything we've been through together...you did. i believed you, every time you swore you loved me i believed it. i think part of me still does, but when i do, when i remember all the promises you made, and how you made me feel in every moment we spent together...i'm just angrier. you don't get to promise someone a love like i thought we had and then just abandon them!? it's not fucking fair grant. it's not. you broke my fucking heart...
letter 74.
i still miss you at times, grant. please, don't ever think that because my life has continued that i forget you, or everything we did together. you're my family. part of my family here and that will always be true. kassy and i are better. i understand why she was hurt when nick and i left to look for you, i can understand the anger and pain she felt in how we left her, especially for you. i love you still, i don't know if that will ever change, but you're not at the forefront of my thoughts anymore, haunting me. & most importantly...you are not here. kassy is. bellamy is. alec. nate. trinity. atom. liv. they're all here and i'm finding more of myself. i'm pouring into those i love who are here and i'm pouring more into myself again. bell doesn't love it, but i started a new business here. exacting justice, giving a little payback. it's brilliant and growing fast. word on the street lately is that i am who you go to when you're stuck between a rock and a hard place. i was tired of being too late, of not being helpful, of the people i love the most...being hurt in ways i can't keep stomaching. this is how i fix that. how i do my part in it.
but I have to admit, there are parts that worry me. i'm sure that'll worry bell if he notices it. but the violence, the cruelty, the darkness of this world—it's getting easier to manage, easier to duel out. I'm changing grant, but i also think i'm becoming who i need to be.
i don't know why i'm still writing these....but, it helps. when i can't sleep, when i'm spinning out...writing to you helps.

@thewholecrew: grant, kassy & octavia. | all american universe
octavia swallowed thickly, nodding in silence when kassy agreed they could take her with them to see her brother. her heart squeezed painfully in her chest as her thoughts lingered on bellamy and all he'd been through. how terrible it must have been for him to recover from his assault in prison during the coldest months. how she hadn't seen in him in what felt like months. but her brows furrowed, anxiety tightening in her chest as she watched grant's little shake of his head out the corner of her eye. lips parted to argue with him. to defend her desire to see her brother when, thankfully, her best friend was already on it, ensuring grant agreed. reluctantly or not.
the more she talked about that night here, the less she felt trapped in the cycle of terrifying childhood moments. despite how distressing it felt to put herself back in that night to give grant needed details, it helped disconnect how her nightmare had looped her mother’s last moments with her best friend’s image. as the living room fell quiet, octavia lowered her gaze to the blanket spread across her lap as she worked the pads of her fingertips against the fabric, pressing them into her knees instead of anxiously digging nails into her palms. if she hadn't gone home that night, would any of this have happened? if the whole damn building wasn't so run down, so easy to break into, would any of this have happened? if grant had come over...would any of this have happened?
grant's quiet thank you pulls her from her thoughts as drained hues lift to him. "um..." octavia hesitated, tugging on her bottom lip as her gaze cast to the side, trying to sift through the haze and dark spots. she grimaced against the memory of crashing through the coffee table, when glass tor through her pajama shirt, slicing into her skin. they'd left her there, unmoving as they spoke. "not spanish," she shook her head, trying to force the men's voices as they chatted in another language louder in her mind. "mandarin?" she guessed, looking between grant and kassy before she nodded more confidently, pushing the memories back behind the wall she created. "remember last semester kass, when mrs. bank went on and on about how mandarin sounds more elegant, like they're speaking with their tongues instead of as guttural like japanese?" her memory is spotty at best but she could remember the shhh sounds that came from the men as they barked orders at each other. "yeah...mandarin." octavia concluded.
"anything else you need to know?" she asked grant with a lift of her brow as she shifted, pulling the blanket from her lap to wrap around her shoulders as she hesitantly scooted herself closer to her best friend. sad emerald hues lifted to kassy's shimmering gaze as remorse felt heavy like stones instead of her. "lemme in," she quietly mumbled to her best friend, shyly leaning into her stiff form as she pulled the thin blanket around her shoulders tighter, lowering her head to lean against kassy's. her past with her mother didn't get to take kassy or her comfort from her. neither did the men who invaded her home. "one of the times i came to...it sounded like they said viktor, you know...my dad." she explained with confusion in her eyes as she waited to see if grant had any further questions for her.
@headstrongblake: grant, kassy & octavia. / verse: all american.
both kassy and grant could understand her desire to see her brother after everything that had happend to the two of them recently and with her now more physically recovered as well as bellamy kassy thought it might be a good idea. that seing bellamy could comfort a part of octavia that she nor grant could reach, especially recently. she gave a slow nod to the demand though grant was a little more hesitant. not that he didn't want octavia to see her brother, but more he didn't want whoever had done this knowing the two were going to see each other. his jaw clenched at the thought of them being watched, of the next attack being planned. he shook his head more to himself, he wouldn't let that happen.
"we can take you to see your brother, o," kassy replied with a wary expression noticing grant shake his head before she brought her attention back to octavia, hoping she didn't think they wouldn't. the last thing kassy wanted was to hurt her more by restricting her from seeing the one person who could make her feel better. "right grant?" she asked with narrowed eyes and he gave a curt nod, hand raising to scratch along his stubbled jaw. she would be safe to see her brother after he found out who these scumbags were and took care of them. he kept the building vengeance off his face as he pushed it down, feeling the pressure of it in his chest as octavia then began to answer his questions.
as octavia explained how they pulled her from her bed kassy pressed her lips together, dark eyes shimmering as she squeezed the pillow in her arms tighter. she couldn't imagine how absolutely terrifying that would be nor did she want to and for her best friend to have experienced that her heart hurt for her. while grant tried to ignore that same feeling and focus just on the details that could help him find them, three men who spoke in a different language. there were gangs around here who spoke other languages and some who did not, it had him narrowing down who could have done this however dark honey eyes lifted to look back over at octavia who seemed to then hesitate, shining gaze on kassy.
she offered her best friend an encouraging if brittle smile and nod, hand reaching out only to close it into a fist and rest it against her own lap once again, body going ridged as octavia continued. she swallowed thickly, forcing herself not to look away. there was horror and grief and intense rage that twisted in kassy as octavia vaguely gestured to the bruise on her neck. grant also did his best not to grind his teeth before eyes widened at the mention of the dragon tattoo. now that was plenty identifiable. "thank you," he said quietly after a moment to digest it all and give octavia a moment. "you said they spoke a different language, do you know if it was spanish or.... german... japanese? mandarin?" he listed a few off that could possibly fit the description.

Jude & Moon Travel - Follow Up PV Thoughts on the Pocket Watch & Big Ben
The 10:10 on Jude's pocket watch kept bothering me, and although the animation of of Big Ben in his PV is recycled from other PVs, it is very prominently pointing to 12 o'clock. Seeing as the moon is and the clocktower are heavily implied as route hints, I decided to read the book, "From the Earth to the Moon," by Jules Verne. There are no spoilers really, but just in case. This isn't that lengthy. And this is just for fun.
This book is the one that Jude refers to in his bond stories, "Hobbies", and "Moonlit Night".
In "Hobbies", Jude says that he's going to make Ellis look into every author on the papers Jude was looking into that discussed moon travel. "Physics, engineering, astronomy.....", Jude goes on to say that he is going to nab all the good researchers before others can. He goes as far as chiding the author of the book for spouting nonsense like it's something that could be accomplished.
In "Moonlit Night," Jude mentions that the book is telling the truth in that it would take 11 kilometers per second to make it to the moon.
So, what does that have to do with the actual book, his PV, and are there any other tidbits we can pick up on Jude from this?
A quick summary of the Book: It's just after the American Civil War, and a group of guys with too much time on their hands are basically complaining because they have nothing to do. However, Impey Barbicane enters the picture and says, 'Bros, let's go to the moon.' Barbicane then sets out with his friends to design and build a cannon that will shoot a hollow-shelled bullet to the moon.
Quick Thoughts: This book, while it's science and calculations are outdated, is very thoroughly researched. There's so many algebraic calculations, mentions of books, papers, and scrolls all the way from the B.C.E to C.E. that it's no wonder Jude read it and took a thorough interest in it. Jude likes scientific explanations after all (HW epilogue). If you're into sci-fi or astronomy, this is a very good book to read. The most important feature about this book is: TIME. Timing is EVERYTHING, down to the seconds.
If you want to read the book yourself online, you can read it here.
Hints/Potential Basis to Jude lore-
Impey Barbicane: I laughed when I learned that after being the director of artillery (in which he was an inventor), Barbicane made a large fortune as a wood merchant. He's described as being calm, cold, austere, of a serious and self-contained demeanor, not chivalrous, of immovable character and last but not least......punctual as a chronometer. He is also highly intelligent.
Six Questions: In the book, Barbicane writes a letter of six questions regarding moon travel to the Observatory of Cambridge in Massachusetts. I won't write what they are, but in time he gets a response from them with six answers. Most notably, here is what we need to know for Jude:
The cannon must be shot at a very specific time, when the zenith and the perigee align at the most opportune moment. Basically, this is when the moon is the closest to the earth. This will allow for the greatest chance of a successful landing.
The Observatory then tells the protag that in one year's time (on December 1st), the moon will be closest to the earth, and this is their best shot. If they miss this opportunity, then they'd need to wait another 18 years and 11 days after this.
The launch should take place exactly at 10 hours, 46 minutes, and 40 seconds on December 1st.
The crew should reach their destination precisely at midnight on December 4th.
Funding and Manual Labor: They even did the math of how much it would take to build and the cost was well over the millions in USD. To which, Barbicane said not to worry, and then proceeded to obtain the money. The labor was intense as a giant hole had to be dug into the ground for the launch space, amongst other things. It's a lot.....the building of the shell alone would cost about 2,035 pounds in Victorian times, which is equivalent to 327,712.76 pounds today, or $425,242.02.
PV Correlations: After I read the book I got super excited, because this means that the 12 o'clock hour on Big Ben, is probably referring to the 12 o'clock hour that Jude is supposed to land on the moon.
Additionally, the fact that Barbicane is a punctual chronometer says a lot about his pocket watch. It's not a normal pocket watch, but one that has a built in chronograph. Essentially, these are an extra built in complication (or feature) that can measure time, distance and speed. All of which are essential. It can come with up to three chronometers.
What does that mean for Jude's PV? After I researched all this, and reviewed the PV again, Jude's pocket watch has a chronograph/chronometer on it. Additionally, the watch is at 10:10, and I know some of us were wondering if that specific time held any significance. Well, perhaps (though the hands aren't shown to be moving), the minutes hand is making it's way down to the 46th minute of 10 o'clock....to the 40th second of that minute.
Time is running out. IF (and that's a big IF), Jude is truly using Verne's book as a guide, he may be in a race against time to launch his "cannon" into space as the moon and earth are reaching it's zenith, at exactly 10:46 at 40 seconds. Otherwise, he may have to wait a very long time to reach it again.
It's just another theory and it doesn't discredit any others in anyway. I think time will play a part in his route in several ways, but I think it's important to note, especially with the IkeVil LINE icon changing to a clock face AND, one of the LINE questions that Jude asks you is from Moonlit Night....about the 11 km per second (which is the distance it takes from the book of 12,000 yd per sec), to get to the moon.
That's all.

Another Pleasantview
Almost every single lot has been remodeled, renovated, or replaced by me. I also added a few new houses, a bowling alley, a gym, a church, and a cemetery.
Sims have been genetically corrected by either myself or simgigglegirl.
Scripted events are available, although a few of the first prompts were already closed out. The only 4 lots I didn't do are the unoccupied trailers and the two condos closest to them.
All Pleasantview townies are now using my default templates.
The Oldies and Burbs have already been placed and have furnished homes. The Oldies live across from the park, and the Burbs live in their (probably) canon house next to the Goths (you can see it in the promos from Happy Holidays).
The Newbies have been placed. Joe, the brother of Brandi, and Jane from the Tutorial are both genetically correct and live next to the Dreamers.
The hood itself is made with MeetMetotheRiver's clean Pleasantview template. It's also CC free.
Because I copied over the houses from my other PV, Don has a "great date" arrangement in his kitchen…..from Bella. Oops. Don't judge me. Anyway, you can just ignore it…..unless you don't want to wink wink.
A few more pictures:
290 Main Street, the grocery store.
330 Main Street, an outlet mall shopping center. Has an H&M, a furniture store, a food court, a bookstore, and a music shop (instruments are blocked off so sims don't get annoying with them).
250 Main Street, the pool. Most objects have been removed from the lot so that Sims might actually go swimming.
95 Woodland Drive, the Oldie house. I renovated the entire house and added Mary-Sue's childhood bedroom and tea room.
215 Sim Lane, the Pleasant household. I tried to keep almost every house recognizable so the outside is pretty much the same though I did give Mary-Sue a zen garden. I subscribe to the head canon that Mary-Sue's birth parents are Hand Goddard and Pauline Wan, and as a child, Coral and Herb tried to help Mary-Sue feel connected to her Chinese ancestry. Mary-Sue has never actually been to China and her tastes are exactly what you'd imagine an American who has never been to China would be, and the house reflects that. it's Chinese inspired but still very American. I also slightly changed the shape of the upstairs because Lilith's side has always driven me nuts.
165 Sim Lane, the Goth house. They are one of the few premade families whose house got a full rework. I made it more Victorian looking but did attempt to keep the interior recognizable...slightly. I actually typically play with recolors of the Mansion & Garden pieces I used so in my own version of the hood, the house has black and grey trim instead of white and wood. A few examples of what I've change in PV. Because I changed literally every lot but 4, I wont post pictures of every single thing, but this is the idea. Some houses were more dramatically changed (like the Goth house or 113 Wright Way) while others are more subtly changed.
I removed the stealth hoods themselves but didn't think to disable them beforehand, so the normal default socliates/downtownies are already there, sorry! I did replace the PV townies with my own default face templates, so there's that at least.

Contextualization/Analysis of Waylon Park’s Asian Coding
A deep dive into the cultural/racial significance of Waylon’s background.
Essay Link Below:
https://www.notion.so/Waylon-Asian-Coding-Script-aac19c8aa6074c5d982a68b5f6fae5cd?pvs=4
my pretentious abstract hdjshsjsk:
The realism of American and Western corruption is disturbing and horrifying. Outlast is not for everyone, and at the end of the day, it might be just a game to you. Just as Berkeley might be another school. Or Rage Against The Machine might just be another band. Or Park might just be another name. No one's obligated to look further than the gore and sex. After all, ignorance is bliss for those who benefit from the system.
IT'S TECHNICALLY STILL AAPI MONTH (Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month) FOR THE PACIFIC STANDARD TIME DWELLERS AT THE TIME IM POSTING THIS WOOOOOOO perfect for Waylon Park analysis :)
I wanted to make a video essay but the audio was coming out to 60+ minutes :( and I wanted to post this before the end of the month (at least for PST).
ARGHHH I may have spent too much time and effort on this, but this was really meaningful to me so I hope you enjoy reading this! Feel free to reference this or comment/critique this! Also feel free to open up discussion in regards to anything mentioned. Thank you!

Best Underrated Anime Group D Round 2: #D1 vs #D2
#D1: Prohibition era Mafia revenge story
#D2: Prophecy girlie, hyper cellphone, and gamer cat get silly
Details and poll under the cut!
#D1: 91 Days
youtube
Summary:
As a child living in the town of Lawless, Angelo Lagusa has witnessed a tragedy: his parents and younger brother have been mercilessly slaughtered by the Vanetti mafia family. Losing everything he holds dear, he leaves both his name and hometown behind, adopting the new identity of Avilio Bruno. Seven years later, Avilio finally has his chance for revenge when he receives a mysterious letter prompting him to return to Lawless. Obliging, he soon encounters the Vanetti don’s son, Nero, and seeks to befriend him using the skills he has quietly honed for years. Set during the Prohibition era, this show tells the story of Avilio’s dark, bloodstained path to vengeance, as he slowly ends each of the men involved in the killing of his family.
Propaganda:
This series has character designs by the art director of Baccano. In fact, the setting of it being in the early 1920s in America is sort of reminiscent of Baccano. However, the story is much crueler and more grounded than that other famous series, even if it involves a similar amount of guns and blood.
The anime follows a broken and traumatized young man fueled by revenge. It’s a tragedy and a thriller and a Mafia series. We see the lengths Angelo Lagusa goes to avenge his family, whom he’s the last living survivor of. He changes his name and leads a double life, getting close to the Vanetti family, who killed his birth family. But in the process of trying to do this, he gets adopted into this Mafia family.
He must wrestle with his morality as he keeps on the bloody road of revenge. People that don’t deserve to be hurt get hurt or killed because of his actions—even dying by his hands.
It's an anime that shows just how far someone is willing to go for revenge, willing to break everything in his path for it. And considering the Prohibition era came to an end in history, was all the trickery and killing even worth it?
Trigger Warnings: Animal Cruelty/Death, Cannibalism, Emotional Abuse, Graphic Depictions of Cruelty/Violence/Gore, Suicide, Alcohol and Smoking.
This entire series is a mob story so there's lots of guns, blood, and killing. There is an assisted suicide of an important character. Also the family dog dies when the main character's family is massacred in the first episode.
#D2: God Troubles Me (Hanhua Riji)
youtube
[Admin: Still couldn’t find a season 1 trailer, so here, have a PV for S2 instead~]
Summary:
Su Moting, the daughter of a god and a monster, is the supposed Chosen One set to fix the balance of the universe, but unfortunately, she’s just barely living as it is. Only just told of her great fate, Su Moting couldn’t care less as she juggles her social life, work, and her new duties (which she doesn’t take seriously). Alongside Moting are Star Tianji and Star Dikui, a god and a monster out to help our protagonist with her grand mission. They, too, are also struggling to figure out life on Earth, as Tianji is an immortal who doubles as the god of Su Moting’s personal cellphone and Dikui is a cat monster immortal more concerned with lazing about. Somehow, they make things work as the best worst roommates of all time.
Propaganda:
Four-season donghua (Chinese anime) that’s so recent and seeped in American pop-culture that I needed to do a double take when a literal cockroach said “Run, Forrest, run,” in English with a heavy Chinese accent. There’s a cat who plays video games (he’s very good at it), a phone who’s the worst kind of hype man, a sentient air conditioner, a guy who can shapeshift into any vehicle, off-brand Super-Man but jerky, a high-ranking god that collects anime figures, and the mega ultra cool protagonist who is a normal human girl fresh out of college and always low on money. It’s great
Trigger Warnings: Animal Cruelty or Death, Child Abuse, Emotional Abuse, Flashing Lights, Racism, Self-Harm, Suicide.
All the TW’s above are done for comedic effect, but they come in fast and hard with the humor. Better safe than sorry! The biggest things I remember are one or two “blink and you’ll miss it” racist jokes, characters joking about killing themselves out of embarrassment (no one goes through with it), and there’s a LOT of self-harm via stupid decisions. Stupid things like tying a loose tooth to the back end of a sports car sort of stupid. The protagonists have 3 brain cells collectively.
When reblogging and adding your own propaganda, please tag me @best-underrated-anime so that I’ll be sure to see it.
If you want to criticize one of the shows above to give the one you’re rooting for an advantage, then do so constructively. I do not tolerate groundless hate or slander on this blog. If I catch you doing such a thing in the notes, be it in the tags or reblogs, I will block you.

I kept seeing all these awakening is better than the show so I finally watched the movie and I gotta ask, howww?? (sidenote: I could finally watch some version of ml on Netflix)
Enjoy random unhinged thoughts
Movie animation is cute but the voice acting felt so wrong. Like, you're telling me I'm supposed to believe these guys in France while listening to their very American accents?
It feels like I've been watching the grimm's version all this while and all of a sudden I got thrown a disney-fied version on steroids
It was too much song for me
They weren't even good songs
I can't believe people think this is a better Adrien
At first I thought they were going the pv route
Adrien was initially a bit pv Felix like
The careless whispers bit was absolute gold tho
I loved Chloe's design. Fantastic. That blue eyeshadow finally looks good
Why did they do plagg so dirty?
He should definitely start farting in the show too but where was the plagg we love? This version was a close to retiring age uncle, who scratches at his pot belly while calling everyone beta
The plot was racing so much that no character development really made sense
I loved the scene where chat noir asks ladybug not to go, but releases her from his hold while he asks

Different nonnie, but Liiri always looked like a cute but bland little nugget to me, so I totally get liking Ying Ying’s character design better. The red-and-yellow glowing color palette that all the Renlings have made it harder to appreciate square-on, so I’m glad you’re switching the colors up too.
Your full answer to that ask reminds me, concerning which of your Miraculous WIPs you’d want to use this three-tier Miraculous setup on, you could honestly just have the Wish made by someone using the canon Ladybug and Black Cat in any of the MULTIPLE in-show close calls up to this point and then just alter and/or rewind reality from there, because SCREW all the unnecessary changes, additions, and retcons that this show’s lore has pulled over the last five seasons. The Prodigious, Order of the Guardians, Native American Miraculous, Miraculous potions, time travel, and so on were obviously far too complex ideas for the ML crew to handle properly, and now they’ve decided to delve even further into the idea of alternate universes for the upcoming Miraculous Paris special on top of all of that, so forget it, might as well use the one still-useful canon-established setup of a Wish to clean it all up so you can use your new lineup in any idea you want. After Wish AU? An accidental dual-Wish is already built into the premise, with Adrien wanting things to be different and Marinette rejecting that, and you get to play with the PV world’s interesting plot setups, a main cast whose characters are slightly to-the-left in terms of personality and looks, and a Marinette who remembers everything contrasting an Adrien who remembers nothing. Off to Italy AU? Maybe it’s later in Season 4 or 5 where Marinette is just tired and she Wishes she had gotten the chance to be a hero with actual support and/or really live her life with trustworthy friends and family at the start of it all, with both the Miraculous powers and her grandmother’s availability to take her to live in Milan with her shifting accordingly. Fortune Favors the Brave AU? Maybe Alya swipes Chat Noir’s Miraculous in Hack-san during their brief introduction-tussle and has the “bright” idea of making the Wish to make herself the Ladybug hero from the beginning only to find that a) main hero life is a lot harder than it’s cracked up to be, b) she’s now one of the five most powerful instead of the two most powerful as Karma for making the Wish without considering others, pressing the importance of teamwork in this new life even more than in the old one, and c) her new kwami is understandably NOT happy about how Alya not only betrayed her former owner’s trust but also reset the universe’s established power balances due to her Wish being too broad. And these are just three examples off the top of my head. All this to say that you’ve been a wonderful part of the fandom even if you don’t interact with it as much anymore, and I don’t think you’ll have to worry too much about which idea to fit your new Miraculous system into when the time comes given your writing track record. With all the grief that the canon plot has given you and everyone else, it’s only fair that you get to use its built-in Deus ex machina to your advantage.
I'll say that chances are I wouldn't do an After Wish au for a lot of the ideas, cause most I want to work off starting off fresh and no one having any recollection of a previous timeline and acting like this is the norm.
Like, the Off to series would have this set up since "Lady Lion" would be a character for Off to Milan, and Pixie Girl or Butterfly Girl will have Mantis. And Off to London, Sebastian the waiter is planned to have Songbird.
So Off to series will either be splitting up the Bagua set or it'll be all randomized on where Miraculous are, and Fu only has a few.
But After Wish au could happen for some ideas, especially since I do like @nobodyfamousposts Lament ideas and their take on the Wish. How the new reality deals with you can depend on your actions, where fighting against the new setting and not liking the changes makes things worse for you, and how rough a set up you'll have can depend on how selfish or selfless a Wish is. It's a fun set up and scenario to think about.
And oh yeah, full agree with all the choices and directions the show went. I'm certain a lot of it came down to doing what other superhero studios were doing. Like Marvel is trying to get the multiverse going and DC dabbled in it with that Flash movie, so clearly ML has to do it too! Which, I will say, there is potential in playing with the multiverse. Back when the show just started, this was the show for aus. Any au you could think of existed. ML being a tv show and the cast are all actors, kwami swap au, inverse/pastel au that just swapped or changed up their colors, personality swaps, life swaps, reverse love square, enemies to lovers, rivals to lovers, ect..
So Ml could work off the multiverse and have fun with it, but that does require creativity and a passion for the show, which given their lazy or odd choices, you got to wonder how invested they are.
#ask Punchie#ml fics#ml salt#maybe there will be a change in quality cause I think Thomas is no longer apart of ML#I know there will be a change in Adrien's character#I heard only him could write Adrien as all other writers wants Adrien to get mad and snap back#and that clashes with Adrien's sad boy perfection that Thomas wants#so Adrien may be different starting with s6#or maybe Zag will take the chance to just reboot the show ont he spot now that Thomas isn't there#cause I also heard they had creative disagreements#and ML is just so wild in how it works and is handled#nothing crazy is an impossibility

FACTS AND STATISTICS ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AT-A-GLANCE
Spon.sored by the peer-reviewed journal Partner Abuse https://www.springerpub.com/partner-abuse.html
and the Association of Domestic Violence Intervention Providers https://domesticviolenceintervention.net/
---
Facts and Statistics on Prevalence of Partner Abuse
Victimization
Overall, 22% of individuals assaulted by a partner at least once in their lifetime (23% for females and 19.3% for males)
Higher overall rates among dating students
Higher victimization for male than female high school students
Lifetime rates higher among women than men
Past year rates somewhat higher among men
Higher rates of intimate partner violence (IPV) among younger, dating populations “highlights the need for school-based IPV prevention and intervention efforts”
-
Perpetration
Overall, 25.3% of individuals have perpetrated IPV
Rates of female-perpetrated violence higher than male-perpetrated (28.3% vs. 21.6%)
Wide range in perpetration rates: 1.0% to 61.6% for males; 2.4% to 68.9% for women,
Range of findings due to variety of samples and operational definitions of PV
-
Emotional Abuse and Control
80% of individuals have perpetrated emotional abuse
Emotional abuse categorized as either expressive (in response to a provocation) or coercive (intended to monitor, control and/or threaten)
Across studies, 40% of women and 32% of men reported expressive abuse; 41% of women and 43% of men reported coercive abuse
According to national samples, 0.2% of men and 4.5% of women have been forced to have sexual intercourse by a partner
4.1% to 8% of women and 0.5% to 2% of men report at least one incident of stalking during their lifetime
Intimate stalkers comprise somewhere between one-third and one half of all stalkers.
Within studies of stalking and obsessive behaviors, gender differences are much less when all types of obsessive pursuit behaviors are considered, but more skewed toward female victims when the focus is on physical stalking
---
Facts and Statistics on Context
Bi-directional vs. Uni-directional
Among large population samples, 57.9% of IPV reported was bi-directional, 42% unidirectional; 13.8% of the unidirectional violence was male to female (MFPV), 28.3% was female to male (FMPV)
Among school and college samples, percentage of bidirectional violence was 51.9%; 16.2% was MFPV and 31.9% was FMPV
Among respondents reporting IPV in legal or female-oriented clinical/treatment seeking samples not associated with the military, 72.3% was bi-directional; 13.3% was MFPV, 14.4% was FMPV
Within military and male treatment samples, only 39% of IPV was bi-directional; 43.4% was MFPV and 17.3% FMPV
Unweighted rates: bidirectional rates ranged from 49.2% (legal/female treatment) to 69.7% (legal/male treatment)
Extent of bi-directionality in IPV comparable between heterosexual and LGBT populations
50.9% of IPV among Whites bilateral; 49% among Latinos; 61.8% among African-Americans
-
Motivation
Male and female IPV perpetrated from similar motives – primarily to get back at a partner for emotionally hurting them, because of stress or jealousy, to express anger and other feelings that they could not put into words or communicate, and to get their partner’s attention.
Eight studies directly compared men and women in the power/control motive and subjected their findings to statistical analyses. Three reported no significant gender differences and one had mixed findings. One paper found that women were more motivated to perpetrate violence as a result of power/control than were men, and three found that men were more motivated; however, gender differences were weak
Of the ten papers containing gender-specific statistical analyses, five indicated that women were significantly more likely to report self-defense as a motive for perpetration than men. Four papers did not find statistically significant gender differences, and one paper reported that men were more likely to report this motive than women. Authors point out that it might be particularly difficult for highly masculine males to admit to perpetrating violence in self-defense, as this admission implies vulnerability.
Self-defense was endorsed in most samples by only a minority of respondents, male and female. For non-perpetrator samples, the rates of self-defense reported by men ranged from 0% to 21%, and for women the range was 5% to 35%. The highest rates of reported self-defense motives (50% for men, 65.4% for women) came from samples of perpetrators, who may have reasons to overestimate this motive.
None of the studies reported that anger/retaliation was significantly more of a motive for men than women’s violence; instead, two papers indicated that anger was more likely to be a motive for women’s violence as compared to men.
Jealousy/partner cheating seems to be a motive to perpetrate violence for both men and women.
---
Facts and Statistics on Risk Factors
Demographic risk factors predictive of IPV: younger age, low income/unemployment, minority group membership
Low to moderate correlations between childhood-of-origin exposure to abuse and IPV
Protective factors against dating violence: Positive, involved parenting during adolescence, encouragement of nonviolent behavior; supportive peers
Negative peer involvement predictive of teen dating violence
Conduct disorder/anti-social personality risk factors for IPV
Weak association between depression and IPV, strongest for women
Weak association overall between alcohol and IPV, but stronger association for drug use
Alcohol use more strongly associated with female-perpetrated than male-perpetrated IPV
Married couples at lower risk than dating couples; separated women the most vulnerable
Low relationship satisfaction and high conflict predictive of IPV, especially high conflict
With few exception, IPV risk factors the same for men and women
---
Facts and Statistics on Impact on Victims, Children and Families
Impact on Partners
Victims of physical abuse experience more physical injuries, poorer physical functioning and health outcomes, higher rates of psychological symptoms and disorders, and poorer cognitive functioning compared to non-victims. These findings were consistent regardless of the nature of the sample, and, with some exceptions were generally greater for female victims compared to male victims.
Physical abuse significantly decreases female victims’ psychological well-being, increases the probability of suffering from depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and substance abuse; and victimized women more likely to report visits to mental health professionals and to take medications including painkillers and tranquilizers.
Few studies have examined the consequences of physical victimization in men, and the studies that have been conducted have focused primarily on sex differences in injury rates.
When severe aggression has been perpetrated (e.g., punching, kicking, using a weapon), rates of injury are much higher among female victims than male victims, and those injuries are more likely to be life-threatening and require a visit to an emergency room or hospital. However, when mild-to-moderate aggression is perpetrated (e.g., shoving, pushing, slapping), men and women tend to report similar rates of injury.
Physically abused women have been found to engage in poorer health behaviors and risky sexual behaviors. They are more likely to miss work, have fewer social and emotional support networks are also less likely to be able to take care of their children and perform household duties.
Similarly, psychological victimization among women is significantly associated with poorer occupational functioning and social functioning.
Psychological victimization is strongly associated with symptoms of depression and suicidal ideation, anxiety, self-reported fear and increased perceived stress, insomnia and poor self-esteem
Psychological victimization is at least as strongly related as physical victimization to depression, PTSD, and alcohol use as is physical victimization, and effects of psychological victimization remain even after accounting for the effects of physical victimization.
Because research on the psychological consequences of abuse on male victims is very limited and has yielded mixed findings (some studies find comparable effects of psychological abuse across gender, while others do not) it is premature to draw any firm conclusions about this issue.
-
Effects of Partner Violence and Conflict on Children
Significant correlation between witnessing mutual PV and both internalizing (e.g., anxiety, depression) and externalizing outcomes (e.g., school problems, aggression) for children and adolescents
Exposure to male-perpetrated PV: Worse outcomes in internalizing and externalizing problems, including higher rates of aggression toward family members and dating partners, compared to no exposure
Children and teens exposed to female-perpetrated PV significantly more likely to aggress against peers, family members and dating partners compared to those not so exposed
Results mixed regarding additive effect of exposure to PV and experiencing direct child abuse
Witnessing PV in childhood correlated with trauma symptoms and depression in adulthood
Child abuse correlated with family violence perpetration in adulthood
Children more impacted by exposure to conflict characterized by contempt, hostility and withdrawal compared to those characterized only by anger
Greater impact when topic discussed concerns the child (e.g., disagreements over child rearing, blaming the child)
High inter-parental conflict/emotional abuse leads to a decrease in parental sensitivity, warmth and consistent discipline; and an increase in harsh discipline and psychological control
Neurobiological and physical functioning mediate relationship between inter-parental conflict and negative child outcomes
Maternal behaviors somewhat more affected than paternal behaviors, but findings are equivocal, given difficulty in disaggregating male and female perpetrated conflict from couple level operationalizations
Greater effects found for mother-child relationships and child outcomes through the toddler years; greater effects found for father-child relationships and child outcomes during the school-age years
Family systems theory useful in understanding how discord in one part of the family can impact functioning in the family as a whole, even if it poses some methodological and explanatory challenges

Facts and Statistics on Partner Abuse in Other Populations
Partner Abuse in Ethnic Minority and LGBT Populations
African-Americans: Older studies found higher rates of male-to-female partner violence (MFPV); recent studies have found higher rates of female-to-male partner violence (FMPV)
Psychological aggression reported at significantly higher rates than physical aggression
As with White populations, minor/moderate aggression far more prevalent among Black couples than severe aggression
In dating studies, no gender differences found in rates of physical or psychological victimization, but women reported higher rates of physical aggression than men
Latinos: Mutual and minor/moderate PV most prevalent, but not as much as psychological aggression
No gender differences for physical or psychological aggression, except among migrant farm workers where MFPV was highest
Asian Americans: The one general population study found percentage of mutual violence perpetration to be one-third of total
Overall rates of PV comparable across gender in large population, community and dating samples
Lowest rates found among Vietnamese, compared to respondents who identified as Filipino, Chinese or others of Asian descent
Native Americans: Only three studies found; women reported higher rates of victimization than men, and reported higher levels of injuries incurred
Risk factors for ethnic minority PV include: substance abuse, low SES, and violence exposure and victimization in childhood
LGBT populations: Higher overall rates compared to heterosexual populations
Inconsistent findings regarding PV differences between same-sex subgroups
Risk factors for LGBT groups include discrimination and internalized homophobia
-
Partner Abuse Worldwide
A total of 162 articles reporting on over 200 studies met the inclusion criteria and were summarized in the online tables for Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Europe and the Caucasus.
A total of 40 articles (73 studies) in 49 countries contained data on both male and female IPV, with a total of 117 direct comparisons across gender for physical PV.
Rates of physical PV were higher for female perpetration /male victimization compared to male perpetration/female victimization, or were the same, in 73 of those comparisons, or 62%.
There were 54 comparisons made for psychological abuse including controlling behaviors and dominance, with higher rates found for female perpetration /male victimization, in 36 comparisons (67%).
Of the 19 direct comparisons made for sexual PV, rates were found to be higher for female perpetration /male victimization in 7comparisons (37%).
When only adult samples from large population and community surveys were considered, the overall percentage of partner abuse that was higher for female perpetration /male victimization compared to male perpetration/female victimization, or were the same, was found to be 44% for adult IPV, although in many comparisons, the differences were slight.
Studies reporting on female victimization only found the lowest rates for physical abuse victimization in a large population study in Georgia (2%, past year), and the highest in a community survey in Ethiopia (72.5% past year) On the higher end, rates of physical PV far exceed the average found in the United States.
The lowest rates of psychological victimization were found in large population study in Haiti (10.8% past year); highest was 98.7% in Bangkok, Thailand (past year).
Unlike physical IPV, the highest rates of psychological abuse throughout the world are about the same as those found in the United States (80%).
Rates of sexual abuse victimization differed widely across regions, with rates as low as 1% in Georgia (past year); highest rates were found in a study of secondary school students in Ethiopia (68%, lifetime)
Physical injuries were compared across gender in two studies. As expected, abused women were found to experience higher rates of physical injuries compared to men.
Far more frequently mentioned were the psychological and behavioral effects of abuse, and these included PTSD symptomology, stress, depression, irritability, feelings of shame and guilt, poor self-esteem, flashbacks, sexual dissatisfaction and unwanted sexual behavior, changes in eating behavior, and aggression.
Two studies compared mental health symptoms across gender. In Botswana, women were found to evidence significantly more of these than men; whereas in a clinical study in Pakistan male and female IPV victims suffered equally (60% of men and women reported depression, 67% anxiety.)
A variety of health-related outcomes were also found to be associated with IPV victimization, including overall poor physical health, more long-term illnesses, having to take a larger number of prescribed drugs, STDs, and disturbed sleeping patterns. Abused mothers experienced poorer reproductive health, respiratory infections, induced abortion and complications during pregnancy; and in a few studies their children were found to experience diarrhea, fever and prolonged coughing.
The most common risk factors found in this review of IPV in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Europe have also been found to be significant risk factors in the U.S. and other English-speaking industrialized nations.
Most often cited are the risk factors related to low income household income and victim/perpetrator unemployment, at 36. An almost equally high number of studies (35) reported victim’s low education level. Alcohol and substance abuse by the perpetrator was a risk factor in 26 studies. Family of origin abuse, whether directly experienced or witnessed, was cited in 18 studies. Victim’s younger age was also a major risk factor, mentioned in 17 studies, and perpetrator’s low education level was mentioned in 16.
In contrast to the U.S., there is a much higher tolerance by both men and women for IPV in other parts of the world, with rates of approval depending on the country and the type of justification.
Regression analyses indicated that a country’s level of human development (as measured by HDI) was not a significant predictor of male or female physical partner abuse perpetration.
Additional regression analyses indicated that a nation’s gender inequality level, as measured by the Gender Inequality Index (GII), was not predictive of either male or female perpetrated physical partner abuse or female-only victimization in studies conducted with general population or community samples.
Separate regression analyses on data from the IDVS with dating samples indicate that higher gender inequality levels significantly predict higher prevalence of male and female physical partner abuse perpetration. GII level explained the variance for 17% of male partner abuse and 19% of female partner abuse perpetration.
A final analysis examined the association between dominance by one partner and partner violence perpetrated against a partner in dating samples using data from the IDVS. Male dominance scores were not found to be predictive of male partner violence perpetration; however, female dominance scores explained 47% of the variance of female partner violence perpetration.

Facts and Statistics on The Role of Law Enforcement and the Criminal Justice System
The Crime Control Effects of Criminal Sanctions
Possible causal mechanisms for the effectiveness of arrest and prosecution: fear of sanctions and victim empowerment; however, because none of the reviewed studies adequately measure such mechanisms, review assumes a general crime control effect that is neutral about causal mechanisms
“Based upon the analyses and conclusions produced by these studies, we find that the most frequent outcome reported is that sanctions that follow an arrest for IPV have no effect on the prevalence of subsequent offending. Among the minority of reported analyses that do report a statistically significant effect, two-thirds of the published findings show sanctions are associated with reductions in repeat offending and one third show sanctions are associated with increased repeat offending.”
Wide range of recidivism from 3.1% to 65.5% , due to high variability in measures of repeat offending (e.g., follow-up time frame)
Studies unclear about then exact nature of the sentence imposed, and what constitutes a “prosecution” or “conviction”
Diversity of analytic methods hinder analysis of effect sizes
Sample selection bias: None of the studies address this issue; for instance, if a small number of low-risk cases are prosecuted, prosecuted offenders are more likely to re-offend compared to those not prosecuted, because of the selection process
Missing data: Often leads to cases being dropped from a study, which in turns creates sample bias
-
Gender and Racial/Ethnic Differences in Criminal Justice Decision Making
Female arrests affected by high SES, presence of weapons and witnesses
Women more likely than men to be cited rather than be taken into custody, but the gender discrepancy is less when a decision is made on whether to file charges as misdemeanors or felonies
Men are more likely than women to be convicted and to be given harsher sentences
“Males were consistently treated more severely at every stage of the prosecution process, particularly regarding the decision to prosecute, even when controlling for other variables (e.g., the presence of physical injuries) and when examined under different conditions.”
No conclusive evidence of discrimination against ethnic minority groups in either arrest, prosecution and sentencing
Dual arrests were more likely in same-sex couples compared to heterosexual couples, perhaps due to incorrect assumption by police that same-sex couples more likely to engage in mutual violence.
Protective orders far more likely to be granted, and with more restrictions to women than to men (particularly in cases involving less severe abuse histories)
Mock juries more likely to assign blame responsibility to male perpetrators in contrast to female perpetrators, even when presented with identical scenarios
-
Effectiveness, Victim Safety, Characteristics and Enforcement of Protective Orders
A large percentage of women who are issued protective orders (POs) tend to be unemployed or under-employed as income ranged between $10,000 to $15,000, and almost 50% of women are financially dependent on their partners.
At least half of women obtaining POs are married, and married women are more likely to stay with their abusers and be pregnant.
Women who are issued POs tend to have more mental health issues (i.e., depression, PTSD) and rural women tend to experience more abuse and mental health issues than urban women
Only a few studies have examined characteristics of men seeking a PO
“Effectiveness” defined as violations of protective orders (POs) and/or re-victimization
Some studies have found POs to reduce violence against victims, with an almost 80% reduction in violence reported to police
Victims report feeling safer and having greater psychological well-being after obtaining a protective order; still, POs violated at a rate of between 44% to 70%
Nearly 60% of women who had secured a PO reported to have subsequently been stalked
Severity of criminal charges on the offender, as well as previous violations, best predictors of new PO violations
Although there is no significant difference in the amount of abuse suffered by married and unmarried victims, married victims less likely to seek final protective orders, perhaps because they are more likely to be re-victimized
Women granted POs at significantly higher rates than men, especially in cases involving lower level violence
No gender differences in the enforcement of POs, and no differences in rates of recidivism
---
Facts and Statistics on Assessment and Treatment
Risk Assessment
Little agreement in the literature with regard to the most appropriate approach (actuarial, structured clinical judgment) nor which specific measure has the strongest empirical validation behind it, leaving clinicians and policy makers with little clear guidance
Review yielded studies reporting on the validity and reliability of eight IPV specific actuarial instruments and three general actuarial risk assessment measures.
Range of area under the curve (AUC) values reported for the validity of the Ontario Domestic Assault Risk Assessment (ODARA) predicting recidivism was good to excellent (0.64 – 0.77)
The single study that reported on the Domestic Violence Risk Appraisal Guide (DVRAG) reported an AUC = 0.70 (p < .001). The inter-rater reliability for both instruments was excellent
The Domestic Violence Screening Inventory (DVSI) and Domestic Violence Screening Inventory – Revised (DVSI-R) were found to be good predictors of new family violence incidents and IPV recurrence (AUC range 0.61 – 0.71)
Three studies examined the Psychopathy Checklist – Revised (PCL-R) and Violence Risk Appraisal Guide (VRAG), neither of which are IPV specific, reporting AUCs ranging from 0.66 – 0.71 and 0.67 – 0.75, respectively.
The Level of Service Inventory – Revised (LSI-R) and Level of Service Inventory – Ontario Revision (LSI-OR) were discussed in four articles, reporting two AUC values of 0.50 and 0.73, both of which were predicting IPV recidivism
Two structured professional judgment instruments were included in the review, the Spousal Assault Risk Assessment guide (SARA) and the Brief Spousal Assault Form for the Evaluation of Risk (B-SAFER. The SARA research reports nine AUCs ranging from 0.52-0.65. The interrater reliability (IRR) for the SARA was excellent for total scores, good for the summary risk ratings, and poor for the critical items. Although neither of the articles examining the B-SAFER reported the predictive validity of the instrument one did report the IRR based on 12 cases with a mean interclass coefficient (ICC) of 0.57.
The Danger Assessment (DA) has the largest body of literature behind it, but there are limitations in the research that inhibit a clear determination of the psychometric properties of the measure, thus far. Victim appraisals of the risk of future IPV show some evidence of predictive accuracy; however, further research is needed to determine the best means with which to collect the victim’s reports and determining the conditions (e.g., stalking) and characteristics of victims that should be considered (e.g., PTSD, substance use).
Overall, the literature reveals moderate postdictive/predictive accuracy across measures with little evidence to support one as being highly superior to others, particularly given the heterogeneity of perpetrators and victims, study limitations, and the small body of empirical literature to date.
Several themes emerged when we examined the synthesized literature: (1) There is a relatively small body of empirical evidence evaluating IPV violence risk assessment measures. (2) The need for continued advancements in the methodological rigor of the research including prospective studies, research that compares multiple measures within single studies, and research that uses large samples and appropriate outcome indicators. In terms of clinical implications, the review demonstrates the considerable promise of several IPV risk assessment measures but generally reveals modest postdictive/predictive accuracy for most measures.
Victim appraisals, while the research has a considerable ways to go, were found to have clinical relevance. However, preliminary evidence suggests that clinicians may want to be particularly cautious when working with some sub-groups when taking into account victims’ perceptions (e.g., PTSD symptoms, substance use, stalking and severe abuse experienced) and supplement the woman’s input with an additional structured assessment.
When clinicians and administrators are faced with the challenge of determining which measure(s) to use to assess risk of IPV they should carefully consider the purpose of the assessment (Heilbrun, 2009). Assessors also should take into account the context, setting, and resources when evaluating which measure best suits their needs.
Consideration must be given to the characteristics of the population to be assessed (e.g., age, gender, ethnicity, socio-economic status) and the extent to which a measure has been cross-validated in similar samples is required
Assessors need to be clear about the outcome of concern (verbal abuse, physical abuse, severe violence, stalking, femicide) and knowledgeable about relevant base rates
Based on the available literature, we are also unable to provide guidance on the clinical relevance and utility of these instruments with female perpetrators, male victims, and in same-sex relationships due to the lack of studies using relevant populations.
-
Effectiveness of Primary Prevention Efforts
All studies incorporated a curriculum-based intervention, with the primary goal of lowering rates of PV
Schools provided the setting for two-thirds of the interventions; the rest were conducted in community settings
Of the five most methodologically-sound school based studies, only one, the Safe Dates Program, found a clear-cut positive outcome on PV behavior (emotional abuse, mild physical abuse and sexual coercion)
In contrast, each of the five most methodologically-sound community-based studies was deemed effective in reducing PV; among them were two interventions targeting couples and one family-based intervention involving parents and their adolescent children
Although outcomes are mixed, especially for the school-based studies, and no studies were replicated, the authors suggest that “because prevention is generally cost-effective, programming is badly needed to prevent IPV before it begins.”
-
Effectiveness of Intervention Programs for Perpetrators and Victims
Authors reviewed studies all utilized either a randomized or quasi-experimental design
Mixed evidence for the effectiveness of perpetrator interventions
Evidence that group or couples format can be effective, but many studies flawed
More promising results for programs with alternative content (e.g., programs that encourage a strong therapist-client relationship and group cohesion, use some form of Motivational Interviewing technique)
Inconsistent effects for brief interventions
Structured interventions found to reduce rates of re-victimization compared to no-treatment controls when they include supportive advocacy
Cognitive-behavioral treatment (CBT) most effective in reducing the deleterious effects of PV on victims and enhancing their emotional functioning
Little evidence to indicate the superiority of one type of intervention over another. Thus, there is no empirical justification for agencies, state organizations, judges, mental health professionals, or others involved in improving the lives of those impacted by IPV to limit the type of services offered to clients, or to restrict the theoretical and ideological underpinnings of such methods.

Despite mentally-ill, fanatical ideologues claiming otherwise, domestic violence is not gendered. And they have literally no evidence to the contrary.

Okay so i gotta talk about Gen V ep 5 or am gonna explode!
And gotta talk about The Boys S4 spoilers for 2 reasons... 1) something mentioned by Dr Cardosa in the episode and 2) the VoughtHQ twitter leaker... mainly cuz am getting this after trying to check on a leak from season 4... their twitter also wont load for me... like can we just let Becca Saunders rest? Can her poor life stop being milked for manpain??
Spoilers under cut obvi.
First-- off congrats Marie and Jordan I hope you 2 get married and be the power couple this universe needs.
Second here its out Butcher cameo lol. I think this is from S1 after killing madelyn but seeing him in a beanie its so weird altho there is a Homelander article in the same page so who knows.
Third-- Cate you poor bitch!! I felt so betrayed but i dont doubt she its being brainwashed/groomed by Dean Shety so maybe she can be redeemed and her powers are too strong.... i dont doubt that there its a chance she its involved in who appears in ep 6 if thats not a halucination.
Fourth-- Dr. Cardosa mentioning a virus to deal with them... so i guess thats how we r gonna deal with the supe population and why i think the vought hq leak might be real as it mentions the virus as well... i think its super interesting that Vought its developing a virus to kill supes, i guess stan edgar did had a way to make V24 viable despite having supes and maybe a way to get rid of Homelander... by giving him the common cold i guess.
Fifth-- am glad that Maverick is another bisexual king but its the bestiality jokes necessary?? altho I assume his alpaca gf Sloane its just a shapeshifter. So far we got Marie, Jordan, Emma, Cate and Andre as our bisexual monarchs and thats basically the whole cast sans Sam... absolutely iconic Kripke, best apology after fucking up Dean Winchester but i wont forgive you for what u did... still thank you.
Sixth-- the pv for the next ep has fucking Soldier Boy!!! Deep down i feel he its most likely a halucination... saw some ppl theorizing that Cate its mindstorm daughter and she witnessed Mindstorm getting killed by SB so she will use her powers to send them to a mind prison to fight SB which is absurd but i doubt SB its there unless Cate's powers were use to brainwash soldier boy and use him as a weapon in the future, as his powers r too good plus is Vought wants to kill all supes then it makes sense for them to team up with the american govt and have SB as back up while they work with the Superona.
Seventh-- i only now noticed there its a wall poster for homie and loneliness on those school mental health ads which is sad and funny.
Eight-- overall great episode loved how much its happening and its only been days inside the canon, and fuck Rufus! How its the next 3 eps gonna kill me!! Like its too freaking much!!
And finally this shit...
I would not be surprised if this virus is the one being developed in The Woods by Vought, second if this is real then Butcher its a complete pos and a hypocrite i expect the following scenarios of: a) during the time Becca was raped or the wk she went missing thats when Butcher cheated on Becca so its not hatred that motivated his revenge against Homelander but guilt for cheating on his wife... probably with his married fbi plug if i had to take a guess. Or B) Becca learned of his affair decided to have her own affair with Homelander tried to end it which resulted in her S.A. which its why Homelander doesnt see what he did as rape bcuz i guess its not assault if its ur GF/Wife in his mind.
And i guess he takes V or the V24 never left his body unless some Supe can give powers which cause Butcher to use them am so confused is he like a power conduit???
I am gonna say Frenchie or MM will die in this story unless by main characthers they mean any of the Seven, Vought execs or Neuman... doubt Hughie, Starlight, Kimiko or Homelander are gonna die in S4.... but maybe Ashley who knows.
And finally giving cookies to Ryan did like HL saw the tumor felt sad for Butcher and decided to let him see Ryan? or did Ryan just sneaked out and met Billy??

I’ve seen the movie trailer and quick thoughts.
Somehow, that movie feels closer to the original concepts (with way more American influences even if story is set in Paris). Obviously, it’s not the pv. It’s not the Quantic Kids concept and that Chat Noir is definitively Adrien, not PV Félix. (Speaking of which, how did Adrien find his Miraculous if Fu is only an easter egg and won’t be present at all?). But there are concepts that were explored before 2015 that are making an appearance in the movie. It’s like Zag picked up the story back from the first drafts of what would become the show.
Like Marinette stumbling by herself on her Miraculous in an abandonned shop / storage? Like, there were concept arts and storyboards where she finds the Miraculous in some sort of antics.
(Also, the way Chloé pursues Marinette who hides from her bully near the place where she makes the fateful discovery reminds me a lot of The Neverending Story movie. That is at least the first movie that comes to mind there).
The Notre-Dame cathedral? That was the first set initially planed in the storyboard before it was relocated probably. The BD depicted it as such anyway (though they meet on the roof, not inside the cathedral). What remains of the original is we still see the shot of the gargoyle.
Anyway, I’m currently at work, but I’ll update the post with images in a couple of hours.

"hey baby," octavia greeted her best friend with a terribly sad smile, both of them wearing a matching set of bags beneath their eyes. for a moment, octavia latched onto kassy, hugging her close as she sat at nick's bedside. "will you let me sit with him a minute?" octavia asked hesitantly, understanding the anxiety that appeared to creep along kass at the idea of leaving him— even for a second. "alec's in the waiting room with rev and some food, you really should have some baby," she encouraged gently, hand resting on kassy's arm until she agreed. whether she'd eat or not, at least she could have a few minutes with alec while octavia had some time with her brother as he slept. "i'll come get you if he wakes." octavia offered with a fragile smile as her best friend disappeared through the door.
with a shaky breath, octavia stood against the wall beside nick's bed. her grief filled gaze traced over his body, assessing all the wounds nick had been left with as she tried to keep her tears at bay. he's alive. he's where he needs to be to heal, and soon enough, they'd be taking him home to recover. he'll recover, she keeps telling herself. repeating and repeating it but it did little to ease the gnawing ache in her heart that knew otherwise. this road to recovery for nick...with grant's abandonment? she tried her hardest not to let thoughts linger there....
"hey destruction," nick spoke groggily, crystal hues squinted at her with a floppy grin. octavia's heart squeezed painfully in her chest, hues flickering to his face. nick's dazy gaze lit a little as their gaze met— all this shit is upside down, but man, it's good to see her. but he expected a warm greeting, not the choked sob as she tried to force a smile that he was sure was for his benefit. "hey....hey 's'okay, c'mere tavi, s'okay," nick encouraged, nudging his head to direct her closer even as he winced with the movement. "c'mon, you're gonna make a guy feel bad looking all sssad like that." none of this was her fault.
shaking her head, octavia quickly went to his side, lowering herself into the chair kassy had positioned at his side. "you're stupid, stop moving around, damn." she brushed the back of her hand against the dampness on her cheeks as her smile brightened a touch before she leaned forward, letting her hand gently rest on her brother's arm. "it's good to see you awake...i've been here, i have but...you've been in and out," she explained, guilt and misery twisting in her stomach like it has since grant dragged him out of that building covered in blood. "i brought you clothes," she shrugged, "figured you'd want to be in something normal if you could."
"ah shit, thanks o—fuck that'll be great when the doc and kass lemme outta this bed," he grinned, his body all warm and fuzzy beneath the steady drip of morphine pumping through his veins at any given moment. "you know i'm doin' okay, you don't gotta keep wrinkling your brows like that," nick teased. it musta been hard to believe when he could barely move his hands. couldn't reach for her, or comfort her in any other way. at least the swelling in his features was levelling out.
with a tight lipped smile, octavia nodded, gently squeezing her fingers against nick's arm, "yeah, of course i know. you're going to be out of here in no time and we'll get you home, it's going to be fine," octavia recited the exact words she told herself repeatedly. "you're going to be just fine, nick." it's all she wants to believe anyway. slowly, octavia lowered her chin to his bedside railing, listening to the steady beeping of the machines. it has to be true because if he's not okay—grant's disappearance means nothing. "i should go get kass, i told her i would when you woke." but nick gave a little shake of his head, "give 'er a break, 'sides i missed you."
for a while, the two sat in silence, octavia watching him while his eyes closed on and off. but finally, when he fully came around again, octavia was still like a statue in the same spot. his brows furrowed with confusion. "where's grant at?" he asked, hues narrowing as he could have sworn she flinched. sucking in a shaky breath, octavia did her best to force a regular smile, though it came out pained. her heartbreak sat at the forefront of her mind, unstable and ready for the dam to break at any second, but the last person nick needed to be focused on was grant. there was nothing nick could do about the matter. "he's being kept pretty busy, lots of things happening, you know." she offered vaguely, "how's your pain?" she asked, intending to shift his gears, "should i get a nurse in here, it's been a while." her head shifted towards the clock, away from him as grief leaked into her gaze.
"what? no, listen, he doesn't need to be out there lookin' for garrett on his own, you hear me?" shaking his head, tension instantly spread throughout his chest. "call him, o. tell him to bring me a cheeseburger or something i'll actually eat and we can sort through this shit together." while nick worried about grant and what he might be doing looking for garrett, octavia couldn't look at nick because the reality was so much worse. octavia exhaled sharply, looking back at nick as she tried to remain impassive. "he's not looking for garrett, don't worry." at least it's not a lie, she thought, offering nick a gentle smile. "he's just busy, okay, he'll come by when he can."
cloudy crystal hues narrowed. he's relieved to hear that his brother is not out there doing something stupid like looking for the son of a bitch while he remained laid up in the hospital...but it doesn't feel right. if he's not looking for garrett, what the hell else was keeping him busy and away from his hospital room? "kay, he's not beating himself up, is he? cause that shit that went down isn't his fault...look, o, can you just call him...i wanna talk to grant." unintentionally, her fingers flexed against nick's arm. "not right now, nick, later." she murmured, tensing as nick shook his arm against her hand. "no, now, octavia. the hell is going on?" he asked, burrowing his gaze into her. "where is grant? what's he doing?" when octavia didn't immediately answer him, fire boiled hot inside of him, fear for his brother's life coming forth. "octavia, tell me what the hell is going on, right now."
"he left, nick." she finally admitted quietly, lowering her gaze to the tiled floor as she pulled her hand away from nick, sitting back in the hospital chair. her fingertips curled against her palm, applying light pressure as the devastation welled up inside her again. admitting that he was gone, that he'd left, felt just as agonizing as watching grant walk away despite how she pleaded with him to stay.
"what do you mean he left?"
"he...he went with garrett..." but before octavia could utter another word, nick's voice rose, cutting her off, "and you didn't fuckin' stop him!?" he shouted, outraged that she was even sitting here if grant was out there alone with fucking garrett. why are any of them just sitting on their hands, comin' and going from his hospital room when they should be out there protectin' their own? what the hell's the matter with them? "nick...he didn't want to be stopped." octavia explained, pushing past the hard lump in her throat. she didn't want to do this with him, not now. at the very least, this could wait until he was home in his own space. but nick wouldn't take the no for an answer. "who gives a fuck what he wants octavia! he's not in his right fuckin' mind! christ, i gotta do everything myself?!" nick shook his head, gripping the edge of the thin hospital blanket as he tried to toss it back, grimacing as his broken fingers restricted him.
instantly, octavia was up on her feet with wide eyes, "nick, stop! just forget about it for now, you need to rest, okay there's nothing we can do about it right now..." her hands gripped the bedside railing near him, gaze casting between his monitor and the pain written all over his features as he tried to move. "there's lots we could've done but YOU LET HIM LEAVE!" nick exploded, "fuck, fuck, shit," he muttered beneath his breath as he shifted in bed. "how you could do that huh? he just leave? get his ass back here. i need my phone, where's my phone? get my fuckin phone octavia, no wait call him. call him right fucking now and tell his ass that if he doesn't bring it back into city limits right now, i'll kill 'em." nick rambled, stumbling over some words as all his trains of thought collide with the pain medication, making his decisions and brain all the more hazy.
"nicklas please...i am begging you to calm down." octavia pleaded as fear and hurt pooled in her eyes, her hand gently touching his shoulder. he's already in so much pain. this is why she had tried to avoid the subject; worrying over grant was the last thing that needed to be on nick's mind!! aggressively, nick forcefully pulled his shoulder from octavia's grip, yelping at the pain it caused the burns as his skin twisted and pulled. "fuck! fucking christ! go, octavia!" he grimaced, shouting louder as his hospital door clicked open, kassy's fearful features widening as she rushed in. "get outta here, octavia! just fucking go!" he shouted, the pain he caused himself dizzying his mind as kassy's gentle hands petted the sides of his neck, shushing him and trying to calm him. slowly, octavia backed up from the bed, sucking back tears before she left the room at his request.
shakily, nick muttered, "she said he left, she said he went away, he didn't, he can't," nick repeated, struggling to take a full breath as he desperately tried focusing on kassy's gaze.

@thewholecrew: grant, octavia & nick | all american universe
as grant shifted toward octavia, dark hues quickly followed him, lips tightly pressing together as his brother then dumped the elephant right out in the open. for a second, octavia tensed as grant addressed nick's heroin use, but she met his gaze with sad eyes. whether now was the time to bring it up or not, she too wanted to know more about nick's drug use that extended beyond the medications he'd been prescribed. hesitantly, green hues shifted in time to see the fire flash in nick's gaze.
his jaw tensed as he clenched his teeth together, sharp hues staring into his brother. goddamn it. how fucking long have they been here? "shut up grant, aight, you don't know shit about what you're talking about." nick snapped at him, nostrils flaring as he spitefully brought his smoke back to his lips, sucking back the nicotine to keep his emotions calm. what good is his argument that he's fucking fine if he can't even control himself? "nick..." octavia started softly, but she fell silent as he explained the medications and the heroin was needed for his hands. that garrett had damaged him in a way they both couldn't comprehend. at least, she thought so until octavia brought her arms up to cross under her chest, shifting uncomfortably as grant spoke. despite the hell grant has put her through, when he admits in his own way that garrett also tortured him, octavia has to pull her bottom lip between her teeth, biting into the flesh to keep her lip from shaking. no matter how hurt she was by him, how destroyed she felt in the wake of his absence—none of it meant she wished any of this for him.
if he were in a proper mindset, nick might feel the same pain and compassion for grant that was so clearly shining in his sister's gaze. but instead, nick continued smoking, only finding himself angrier as he saw the scar on his hand every time he pulled the cigarette from his lips. "alright, see okay, you get it, so fucking get it and leave me alone— i just told you, i'm not dependent on shit, i need it because im still in fuckin' pain, i'm not using it for kicks grant!" nick's voice rose a touch, head shaking, "tavia i'm not using it to fuckin' party and get myself fucked up!" he explained, moving away from the two as he stubbed out his smoke in one of the ashtrays outside. "'sides, who the hell do either of you think you are going through my shit anyway? like i said, when i was gone my priorities weren't seeing a doctor at some free clinic to get a new scrip, so i got what worked. not that either of you need to know that shit."
octavi's grip tightened on her arms as nick's temper seemed to flare instead of being tapered by grant's commiseration, her heart still reeling from grant's admission about his time with garrett. but her head shook as nick did all he could to distance himself from seeing his use as the problem it so clearly is. "we are the people who care about you, nicklas okay? i didn't know if you were alive when i first got here!" she explained, a smidgen of desperation leaking into her tone. she took a moment, rubbing her fingers against her arm because yelling at him, hell, even caring about him loudly isn't going to get them anywhere. "that's great that you're managing your pain, and im so sorry that this all still hurts so much for you nick, but please, please you have to stop using. you didn't want to lose grant, right?" her chest tightened, remembering how desperately nick begged her to go after grant with him. "we don't want to lose you."
@headstrongblake: grant, octavia & nick. / verse: all american.
he didn't react to nick's challenging response, simply stood behind where he had stopped, watching him with that warning still in his honey eyes. he hadn't been patronizing nick by apologizing, he had truly meant what he said but grant could understand why it was taken as such after all he had said to the two of them it would be hard to trust he was truly remorseful. he was glad to be outside though, after the dark and dull feeling his home gave, how the air felt stale and smelled of cigarrette smoke. grant watched nick from the corner of his eye as he drew octavia in close for a side hug, explaining he hadn't meant to scare them.
i hear you. it was a start and had grant give a small nod in acknowledgement but he still kept himself tense and ready to interfere between the two once more if necessary. he was silent as the two argued, or rather octavia shared her concerns calmly, gently and nick scoffed them off. grant frowned at that, at how he said octavia was being dramatic, taking one protective step towards her. "nick, painkillers are one thing, but heroin...?" he pointed out with a small shake of his head. there was no way in which heroin could be used leasurely. that it was a slippery slope and that ODing was very much possible with that. he quickly glanced over at octavia, unsure if she hadn't wanted him to be as blunt about that as he was, but he wanted nick to know that she was not being dramatic.
when nick spoke of how his hands still hurt, guilt weighed heavy in the pit of grants stomach but the question he then was asked by his brother, about the known torture garrett had most likely alluded to, grant stiffened then for an entirely different reason. he shifted uncomfortably a moment, jaw clenching before he swallowed the lump in his throat. "it took time," he answered quietly, "but no, you're right, my hands were an asset to him so they never endured the same torture you have." his own hands flexed at his sides before tucking them back into his jacket, trying to ignore the flashbacks of such a time. "but i did have to simply endure the pain, there were no medications for me."
it wasn't a contest of who had suffered the most, they had all suffered more than any of them deserved, but the point was that grant could understand to an extent how the pain nick experienced could feel never ending, that it would never heal. that he needed something to dull it, to function. "truthfully, had i had the chance, there is a possibility that i would have become dependent on them as you have... but it's not just the pain medication that you've been taking, is it nick....?" he didn't really wish to talk about his time with garrett, but he made no attempt to correct or lie about what nick had assumed.

I'm running on fumes waiting for Jude's PV. In my copium haze, I decided to compare a few of the other character PV releases on the official YouTube channel.
(All below in American date and time format): Roger's PV - 06/20/2024 11:00 PM Ellis' PV - 02/21/2024 2:00 AM Alfons' PV - 10/18/2023 3:00 AM
So I'm praying that he blesses us either tonight or tomorrow! (please Jude I'm actually dying, I actively feel my soul evaporating out of my body.)
Cloudpuff, I LOVE how you even looked up the times for the drops! I reallllly hope you’re right. Originally, I thought it would be the first week and half into October (but that was me thinking of a 11/13 main story release date, and using the length of time from Roger’s PV drop to his main story release as a foundation.
I’ve had his master list in my drafts since May because I thought he was going to be released before Roger.

🎸 it’s not a wind up. My ex’s band was of the few American bands to support CATB after the PV/Alana thing. It was such a messy situation and Van wanted friends he could tour with. When Van’s name was cleared, we all became friends and close mutual friends. I wouldn’t reveal anything too personal.
I’m a pretty good negotiator and Van drove me to my wits end with arguments. He’s not an asshole but he will do anything to gain the higher ground and doesn’t know when to shut up. We got into a dumb heated argument that he wouldn’t let go of. I screamed at him to get the fuck out of my house. 3 days went by and he left Cadbury marshmallow bunnies and pink tulips as a peace treaty. I didn’t even like tulips he just thought they were pretty. So now whenever I see tulips I think of him
🌷🌷🌷🌷
Honestly Van could throw a handful of daisies at me and I’d be ecstatic lol
