The words emerged through gritted teeth, a muscle feathering along Light's taut jawline.

"I was chosen to become the God of this new world, to execute divine justice and establish true order with my own hands. No one else is worthy."

An errant tear slipped from the corner of your eye, tracing a glistening trail down your cheek in the tense standoff's wake. You tried valiantly to fortify your resolve, to not flinch away from the sheer gravity of that unnervingly cold, callous resolution etched into his very marrow.

But it was too much.

"Light, please..."

The words gurgled out in a desperate rasp, thick with anguished pleading and unshed tears.

"I love you, b-but I can't keep watching as you lose every shred of your humanity like this! If you won't give up that thing, then...then I have to go. I can't stay by and watch this anymore!"

At the achingly soft admission spilling through your wobbling lips, Light's expression didn't flicker for a protracted, agonizing heartbeat.

But then his mouth curled into the ghost of a smirk, utterly devoid of genuine mirth - just cruel, calculating self-assurance.

"Go ahead and try," he crooned with scathing disinterest, callused fingers seizing a rough fistful of your hair to forcibly tilt your face up towards his. Tears spilled freely now, sobs raking your trembling frame.

The icy finality behind those mocking words washed over you in a suffocating wave, stealing what little tenuous purchase on hope you still possessed.

It doesn't take him long to understand you're smarter than you let on, however, your reasoning puzzles L a lot.

If you met him during the events of Death Note he immediately decides you're an asset and takes you to his side. You're like the Misa to his Light.

Your job would be to survey Misa, work in the same places as her, join her on any jobs. Since you're good at faking your bimbo personality you easily get along well with her.

At first Light even falls for the guise but with time he realises you're smarter than you look.

Even after Light understands your true personality L still keeps you around to help out. He often takes you with him when he's stalking surveying people and would even ask your opinions on the situation.

At first he used to find you annoying and his opinion of you was very similar to his opinion of Misa. However, with time L starts to find your interactions with others sort of amusing.

He sees your personality as a game, but outside of the Kira case he doesn't really interact with you.

To him, you're just another factor in the case.

Light

Hates it.

Unlike L, Light takes slightly longer to catch on to your personality.

You meet through Misa since you are friends with her. At first, Light presumes you're just like the other girls Misa works with but as time goes on he realises your true potential.

He only gets interested in you once you confess you think he's Kira.

Light's first instinct is to kill you but he refrains from doing so since he thinks he could use you. To him, you're just another pawn he can control to win against L.

L might have some semblance of a bond with you but Light only sees you as an object for his schemes. If he feels that you won't be easily manipulated then he doesn't bother associating with you since you are no use to him.

However, if you are easily swayed his way then Light uses you as an unsuspecting source for information.

With L and the rest of the team constantly hovering over his shoulder Light needed someone on the outside to help him execute his schemes.

Over time he comes to appreciate your wit as it makes it easier to carry out his plans. However, he still expects you to listen to him and hates when you get too creative.

He sometimes wishes you were the one with the Death Note instead of Misa because that would make everything happen so much more smoothly.

He expects you to have your regular personality when interacting with him. If you act like a bimbo when it's just the two of you he gets visibly annoyed.

While you are a genius like him you don't posses the almost inhumane lack of empathy Light is known for, which is why you don't realise the bond you share with him is purely that of a master and his pawn.

Mello

A mixture of the two.

Like L, he finds it weird that you would want to act like a bimbo especially since being a genius is something he always strived for growing up.

To him it's almost like you don't value the skillset his entire life revolves around.

However, he also sees the value in your mannerisms.

Unlike Near, Mello chose to associate himself with the mafia, that meant he needed trustworthy allies who he could rely on to get the work done.

At first he sees you as just another one of the bimbos his men would use as flings and then discard of, but after a few days he realises your true intentions.

You played the role of the innocent girl hopelessly in love with a mafia man yet in reality were using them for your fulfillment. (This can be anything from stealing from the guy you were with to leveraging his connections to complete some personal vendetta.)

Once Mello realises your true persona his first instinct is to get rid of you.

There is only space for one genius in his circle and he can't risk being potentially overthrown.

However, you make him see the value in having you around.

With time, you, Mello, and Matt become a team of sorts. You become a trio known for controlling the mafia groups.

Most people simply presumed you were Mello's bimbo girlfriend he kept around for eye-candy, which made it easy for him to use you to get what he needed.

However, unlike Light, Mello knows the value of having reliable allies (like Matt). He never really places his full trust in you, but with time Mello comes to appreciate you.

Given L's stoic nature, it would appear as though he really doesn't care.

However, behind closed doors, their words get to him more than anyone would've realized, creating a lot of insecurities in him.

L is so good at hiding his true feelings that even Watari is none the wiser when it comes to just how badly their words affect him.

Until L is caught fighting.

Of course, L does not start physical fights, viewing them as useless as they solve nothing and are a childish expression of emotion, but he does very much believe in fairness and defending himself.

Watari comforts L as he confides him in about all the bullying he's faced. Despite L never crying, Watari could tell it hurt him as he his montone voice was a bit more solemn, and L refused to make eye contact, and his slouch was more prominent.

Watari put a comforting hand on L's back, taking him by surprise, and prompting him to look at him. "I understand words hurt, but the best way to get them to stop is to not react at all. They want to get a rise out of you and you can't give it to them."

Light Yagami

He would likely just ignore it at first, but there would come a point in which he would want to know what the hell their problem is.

If talking doesn't solve anything, he would likely consult an adult. Being a teacher's pet, he they would get the situation under control for him in most cases.

However, he would not be above escalating things to a physical nature should he be unable to reason with them and the adult's where no help.

Mihael Keehl

Being emotional and reactionary, he would often name call and yell back.

It wouldn't take much for him to escalate to physical violence.

Especially in his younger years, he would get his ass kicked a lot as he would take on much older and bigger kids as well as taking on groups.

He would likely be jumped occasionally by his bullies.

Mello would get blamed for the fights whether he caused them or not as he's looked at a "problem child".

This would create a bit of a victim complex and instill a core value belief that there is no justice in this world and that often the perpetrators are really the victims.

The taunts and teases would cause a lot of insecurity.

Mail Jeevas

Would pretend to be so unbothered.

However, in private, he wonders if they're right.

He would keep it to himself until it escalated into his bullies physically assaulting him.

Even then, it would take a lot of prying for him to open up to an adult.

Upon opening up to an adult, he would, to his surprise, be supported and comforted and receive protections.

Nate River

Really would not care about what they say.

However, if it became physical, he would likely take the beating, unable to protect himself.

He would become very angry and annoyed, more so at the fact that he couldn't do anything to stop it rather than the fact it happened.

He would likely become annoyed with how the adults handle the situation and would take matters into his own hands.

From that day on, he would stay within the presence of the adults so the bullies wouldn't touch him, thus creating his over reliance on needing an adult at all times.

Misa Amane

As a sensitive girl, she would often cry as a result of the bullying.

She would be a bit of a tattle tell, telling a trusted adult anytime she is slightly offended.

Being adorable and a bit of a teacher's pet, the teachers would coddle her and thoroughly punish those who hurt her.

Sayu Yagami

She would keep it a secret until Light and Sachiko begin to notice her becoming quieter and less confident.

Upon them asking what's going on, they offer some adivce.

However, when their advice doesn't work, Sayu confides in her brother in private.

Light decided to stand up for his younger sister, confronting her bullies.

However, they bully her even more for needing to involve her brother.

One of the bullied gets brave and strikes Sayu.

This prompts Light to throw himself into the ring, decking a bunch of lil punk ass bitches who think they're going to lay a hand on his sister right in front of him and get away with it.

Light intentionally isolates you from friends and family over time, chipping away at your supports until your entire world revolves around pleasing and obaining crumbs of affection from him.

Light is a pathological liar and gaslighter. He'll make you question your own memories, reality, even sanity through his cold, calculated mind games until you're fully dependent on his toxic validation.

Despite being hailed as a genius, you're constantly made to feel stupid and inadequate by his cruel put-downs and belittling remarks that masquerade as "tough love." Light tanks your self-esteem to control you.

He's excessively jealous and possessive, often accusing you of disloyalty or infidelity with zero evidence. His paranoia becomes terrifying as Kira's body count rises - you never know if he'll snap.

Light totally lost sleep because of L when he was handcuffed to him. L would get up in the middle of the night to get a snack and just sorta drag Light around.

L made awkward and ambiguous comments on the sexual tension between him and Light. Light wasn’t sure if L was just messing with him or what but he tried to just ignore it. L never let him though.

L is bisexual (maybe demiromantic too?)

Ryuk never found someone as entertaining as Light.

If Light never got the Death Note he would have become the second best detective in the world. He also would have struggled with depression.

L has ASD.

Toxic Light Yagami Headcanons A/n) Oh boy I haven't written for Death Note in a hot minute but I have been thinking about this pretty mass murderer nonstop recently so here you go. I may make (somewhat) non-toxic headcanons and/or a spicy alphabet post later. Warnings: Dark and explicit content. Y'all asked for these :)

Arguing with him is never worth the energy. He won't just lie and gaslight you, but he'll maintain a completely cold and impassive demeanor so that he can call you down for "being too emotional".

Minimal aftercare. He'll clean up any mess on himself or the bed almost immediately after and then will give you some wipes to clean yourself off. You'll get a glass of water if he's already getting one for himself.

You are not a priority; he expects you to know that. Sure, he likes keeping you around, but you always come second the whatever he is working on.

Never try and recommend media to this man. He will very clearly roll his eyes at shows, tell you if he thinks movies are boring, and will literally change music so quickly. And if you ask what he actually wants to watch/listen to? "I don't have time for stuff like that". He listens to exclusively news podcasts I think. He is also a Hideki Ryuga fan bc of Sayu but he wouldn't admit that with a gun to his head.

It's a short, but deeply thought out decision. He would ultimately choose to gain your perspective before making a final decision.

If you were to speak in favor of a prenuptial agreement, it would increase his trust in you, resulting in him ultimately deciding not to pursue the agreement. If you spoke negatively about a prenup, he would want to hear your reasoning and decide if he feels he can trust you based on your reasoning to be against it.

Should you have a prenuptial agreement, he would spend many hours negotiating terms, ensuring fairness to all parties involved. This would include terms related to infidelity, criminal activity, spousal neglect, and more. It would also include agreements on spousal support.

However, your desire to negotiate terms would likely cause further distrust in you.

If you don't agree to the prenup, there is no marriage. However, agreeance doesn't increase his trust in you as he sees a prenup as just the expected thing to do when getting married, just standard procedure, nothing special.

If you request a prenup, he would he respond by telling you he was thinking the same thing.

Despite having many assets to protect, she is often naive in love and would never suggest a prenup, believing what's hers is yours and what's yours is hers.

She sees a prenup as planning for a divorce.

However, she is not OPPOSED to dating outside her own socioeconomic status. It just happens that most of the people she knows just happen to be within the same income bracket as herself.

If you are much better off than her and decide to request a prenup, she would happily agree to it, claiming she loves you for you, not what you have, and besides, she can live comfortably without your support.

If you are significantly worse off than she is, she would be happy to find you an apartment and pay spousal support for up to eight years or until you remarry, whichever comes first.
