Íme a második felvétel:

György Ligeti - Atmosphères for Orchestra
Imagine a piece that begins with each instrument in the orchestra playing a different note. The resulting chromatic cluster covers more than five octaves. The conductor’s score spans two pages stacked vertically. This is György Ligeti’s Atmosphères for Orchestra. A bit of background György Ligeti (1923-2006) lost most of his family to the Holocaust. Then, he faced the oppression of living in…

It was 15 years ago today: Alarm Will Sound's Nonesuch debut album, a/rhythmia, was released. "Dazzlingly well played, and a startlingly good beginning to their association with Nonesuch," the Guardian exclaimed in a five-star review of this "exuberant mix" of works by Michael Gordon, Benedict Mason, Ligeti, Nancarrow, Birtwistle, Josquin des Prez, Autechre, and more. You can hear it here.
Alarm Will Sound's recording of Donnacha Dennehy's Land of Winter will be released on Nonesuch November 15.

F. Liszt, F. Busoni, B. Bartok, G. Maglioni, L. C. Figueroa, G. Ligeti, G. Kurtag
