I dunno- this and into the woods is my favorite musicals and I’ve had traffic brain rot for AGESSS and I was finally re-listening to Hadestown and this absolute fever dream of an idea dawned on me during hey little song bird

So yeah. Enjoy?

Eurydice- Jimmy Solidarity ✨the canary✨ you see the vision. This (joke?) is what started this whole thing so.

Orpheus- Still deciding between Scott and Tango

Tango pros:

- They are soulmates

- the goat horns are kinda vaguely like music/an instrument 👀

- ranchers duo is SO SWEET always

- their lives are tethered which in a way fits the story of the show and the myth.

- idk i just like this idea

- why are you still here? It’s over. Go home.

- c!jimmy seems to be on better terms with c!tango than c!scott soooo

Scott pros:

- they were husbands, Jimmy died first tragically (very accurate to original myth)

- THE FLOWER MOTIF- specifically a red flower. It’s just so perfect

- they saw each other in the afterlife

- Scott is always attached to flower husbands which seems fitting

- he likes to sing? Empires musical? I don’t know but it seems like it works

-flower husbands and desert duo have connections (you will see why this is important)

So yeah leaning towards tango for the vibes but leaning towards Scott for actual similarities in plot and such.

(If someone wants to say Joel or someone I will happily hear you out lol)

Hades and Persephone- c!Grian and c!Scar/desert duo. The characters were once in love and then it grew into a a more bitter relationship. There are lots of potential parallels with Hadestown older lovers and desert duo. Grian and scar also have flower/plant motifs.

Grian as hades- He is a watcher, which seems fitting. Creator of the games seems fitting for god of death and also the industrial foreman Hadestown has. Original winner.

Scar as Persephone- Now that he is a winner, I personally love the idea of him being the earth, which is perfect for the god(dess) of spring. I also think his secret life skins going from green to black is an accidental parallel.

The only real issue with this is I want to incorporate Grian being the sun but that’s contradictory;-;

Hermes- My main idea atm is Martyn. This is mostly because storytelling and lore is very connected to him and his character. Who doesn’t love some eyes and ears AU/lore

I am also considering pearl just because I like that idea, her being the moon and being connected to g and s, etc

And Ren because he is such a storyteller/theater kid

The Fates- I have several ideas for this

-the watchers(and secret keeper.) Obvious reasons

- the other winners

-clethubs because they are a fun/good trio lol

- ren, pearl, Scott (in case I don’t have them as Hermes/orpheus)

- the remaining Evo members: bigb (also he was so creechur in third life ), pearl, and if he’s not Hermes, Martyn (also good since pearl and martyn have won)

Based on a lot of the plant motifs imagine if instead of a carnation it was a poppy.

I’m very slow with drawing and have never written any kind of fic before but if people like this idea I’d love suggestions for the AU and I’ll definitely make some character designs :)

Part five in my "Songs I associate with different characters" series, and also technically my first animatic! The editing is hot garbage because my editing skills and video making software...aren't great, but I'm proud of it regardless.

(this took me sixteen hours, I keep spending more and more time on this series, please help me-)

Hey team rancher fans, I've been scheming a little project that if I do it well, will rip your heart into tiny shreds. My goal is to have the first part done by the anniversary of the 5th session of double life. I don't know how feasible that is considering I'm already behind schedule, but hey, silly little teaser thing!

thinking about a majorwood hadestown au again............ (but like different and not actually hadestown at all sorry)

no actually i'm going to explain it i've decided

so in this case orpheus and eurydice are scott/jimmy (not sure who's who, but probably jimmy = eurydice because. y'know. dying.) and hades and persephone are ren/martyn (i am sure about this one. ren's hades, martyn's a combo of persephone and hermes) right?

scott loses jimmy to something easily avoidable on the eve of their wedding. something that shouldn't have happened. so he finds martyn, up on the surface, and begs him to reason with the king of the underworld. martyn says, reluctantly, that he'll try, but ren is firm. rules are rules. jimmy stays dead.

scott's not willing to give up. he secretly follows martyn back down to hades. he'll bring jimmy back by force if he has to (just realized this has parallels to wc!scott. awesome.) martyn finds him before they get there though, because he's not dumb scott.

when they reach the entrance to the underworld, martyn hesitates. he doesn't want to go back. he doesn't like being the hand of the king, but it's all he knows. he doesn't know how to be anything else.

scott takes his hand. they walk into the underworld side by side, to face lovers they no longer know.

he finds jimmy, who made it to elysium. he's living his happy afterlife forever, in a flower field with a man with scott's blue hair and his smile and his eyes. it's only an illusion, but he looks so happy. happier than scott's ever seen him look. he turns around, back into the darkness. he won't take that from jimmy. not now. not ever.

martyn tries sneaking scott out of hades over the river styx, but they're caught by ren, who refuses to let scott leave, and accuses martyn of betraying him. they get into an argument. scott could run. he doesn't. he stays.

and maybe it ends there. maybe scott is trapped. maybe martyn is trapped. maybe they both schemed too much, flew too close to the sun.

i think they got out. i think they're having a beach vacation, far far away. don't you?

uh hi i made my first ever animatic/pmv/thing?? so that’s pretty cool! ive been rotating this song and third life jimmy and scott for over a year and a half and i finally said “screw it” and put at least the last part of the song on digital paper. maybe one day i’ll do the whole song but no promises lol.

What did I read this month? As ever, it's mostly going to be Dream SMP, but I wander outside the fandom ocassionally, and we've got some QSMP and 3rd Life this month! Techno and Phil are both so helpless with a tiny baby, they don't now how to feed this little one, at one point a dead mouse is put on the baby's face and everyone looks at him hopefully. It's so funny.

This one started as a character study and you can tell, it's very deliberate and mediative with the characters, and it's just slowly growing through the questions of what they do now, and what they do with these relationships they have to people they care so much about and also those people don't remember it.

Benchtrio are Borrowers, and Tubbo gets caught by Emduo! Man, this starts with Tubbo falling into oil and not being able to climb out (he's eventually rescued by Emduo), and it's honestly terrifying. I really felt like I was a tiny creature clinging to a spoon. It continues to play with the fact that Tubbo is just so TINY and defenceless.

MASSIVE sprawling superhero epic digging into power issues, morality, villainy, cohersion, sexism and other 'isms, marching towards an inevitable end. It all ends in tragedy, but oh my god the journey there is so rich and beautifully drawn. Each fic in the series is a different spot on the timeline and you see characters from so many different POVs, as events come into greater focus and you realize what the fuck HAPPENED to break people like that. This is very much a fic to read while spamming the sobbing emoji in the chat with a friend, but oh man I have to see how it all comes together and if ANY of my guys make it out. I don't know if any of my guys make it out! :SOB:

I'm not gonna spoil it but what happens when Joel's dogs show up looking for their master is SO GOOD and SO BAD at the same time.

And They Were Ghosthunters | TNT Duo AU by commaclear Fandom: DSMP Rating: Mature Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Relationship: Alexis | Quackity/Wilbur Soot Tags: Humor, Hurt/Comfort, Fish out of Water, Alternate Universe - Angels and Demons, Happy Ending Length: 21/21 chapters, 46,984 words

Wilbur Soot is a demon who's tired of being bored in Hell and decided to go to Earth, where he gets a job on a Ghost Hunting show run by a guy named Quackity. Surely he has lots of oppurtunity for sin here! Two problems though: Quackity is really cute and might actually be a genuinely good person and Wilbur is falling for him, and Love is toxic to demons. This one is legitimately so very funny and such a fast read. I sat down to read the first two chapters and then i looked up and I'd read 46k.

Okay so the summary for this one was:

Suspected of betraying the Hero Guild, Apprentice hero Tommy (A.K.A. Blindspot) is put under Security Protocol Catbag: a locked-on noise cancelling mask equipped with truth gas. His mentor, Dream, calls it a necessary teaching tool.

Meanwhile, SBI wants to know why their least favorite loudmouth little Hero has suddenly stopped talking.

And I read that and I was like "supinetothestars is going to get me back into reading tommy-centric superheros", and it's happened. It's so good, the characters are so thoughtful (and feel way more like canon characterizations vs fanon), and they run up against each other in really interesting ways. Wilbur is a paranoid bastard in a way that feels realistic and canon! The superpowers are interesting and interestingly played out (tommy's power is he can make himself unnoticeable!) and the relationships are adhering to tropes enough that they're like, oooooo, what happens next, I have a delightful suspicion, but they are pulled off well enough that they still feel fresh. It's really good.

Double Down by Onelituli Fandom: DSMP Rating: Mature Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings, Major Character Death Relationship: Dream & Tommyinnit & Tubbo, Ranboo & Tommyinnit & Tubbo, Dream & Sapnap & George, Tags: Alternate Universe - Imawa no Kuni no Alice | Alice in Borderland Setting, Rated for Language and Dark Themes, Mystery, Flashbacks, Slow Build, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Heavy Angst, Grief/Mourning, No Villains just Antagonists, Bittersweet Ending Length: 11/13 chapters, 67,663 words

Oh man how even to explain this one. The Dream SMP ensemble is imprisoned in this post-apocolyptic setting where they have to compete in challenges to win cards. The higher the suit of the card, the harder the challenge. And people will die, they are dying, the challenges are killing them. They don't know why they're here or who is making them do this, but all they can do is try and make it together despite a structure that keeps trying to turn them against each other and destroy them. This is structured with lots of flashbacks and mysteries, and the mystery of what HAPPENED to these people is ever-present. And how on earth they possibly make it out of this challenge with even one person alive. This one is such a mystery, I don't know what's HAPPENING but I want to KNOW. And that's it for this month! Me: We should probably make the characters like Tubbo and Tommy(with no romance of course). Especially since the last stream with Tubbo about to die and-

Brain: SALLY AND WILBUR PREQUEL STORY

Me: What

Brain: Sally as Eurydice and Wilbur as Orpheus. It could be that the Dream SMP is Hadestown that at first seems to be great and all until it revealed itself to be shit. ANd then we get the aftermath being Wilbur deciding to make his own country so that they can live in peace and free from Dream

Me already making plot: God damnit

But seriously. I can think of so many reasons why this could be some sort of prequel to the canon. We get Sally wanting a better life and going into the SMP only to go get stuck in there where you work endlessly for Dream.

We can have Wilbur sing songs to Sally and then we can have Wilbur sing to Dream in an effort to give them a chance to leave.

Oh my god we can have it so that Fundy was born/like about 4 around the time Sally got onto the train to the SMP and so Wilbur is not only getting his wife back, but he’s also trying to get Fundy’s mother back.

Hermes as Phil because of course. But this time, Phil is a good dad and not a shitty one because Wilbur is already going to get hurt in the aftermath of this.

Techno can be the fates but he doesn’t lure Sally to Hadestown but warns her about it. 

Persephone can be George and Sapnap who goes out every Spring and Summer to get out of the SMP and more. 

Oh man I can think of so much angst for this au. We can make so much angst. Gasp! And we can have the retelling of it be from Phil telling it to an older Fundy! Oh god the angst we can make with that!

To no one's surprise, I have not finished the first part of the Hadestown AU, so here's team rancher designs.

They will be drawn as rats, because I'm me, and I already have rat designs for nearly every life series character, but very few human designs. But I started making designs specifically for this AU during the 1 week since March that I drew humans, so you get human (kinda) drawings.

The first 2 drawings are yellow-life ranchers. I don't know why I did that; they aren't going to be yellow at any point in this comic. But the third is red life tango.

The first part is going to be 6 pages and they've already been sketched out, so hopefully I can get it out soon (although my friend/beta reader/person-who-listens-to-all-my-rantings keeps telling me to "not overwork myself." sighs/(light hearted)).
