*kicks down door* The Fantasy AU Discord server has made me spawn another AU idea. A FATE STAY NIGHT AU. For people who don’t know Fate (I sometimes don’t even get Fate), the general idea I want to take from it is that there is a Holy Grail and it appears somewhere in the city. The Holy Grail will allow someone to make a wish of any kind. 7 Masters summon 7 servants and fight each other in order to determine who will get their wish granted. Servants are usually people who were previously famous in history (dead people temporarily summoned to modern day, constantly need magic from Master or will disappear). Now let’s go into the possibilities.

So the original Fate series is really dark, like really really dark. Normally Holy Grail Wars are fights to the death (sometimes Masters can survive, but usually they end up being killed). Also usually Masters are Magus (let’s just say that’s basically magicians, yes I know the term means something different in Nasuverse but I’m not going into that) and Magus also kinda disregard human life (have done human experimentation to further their magic, etc). So I don’t think I’ll go too in depth about this. The main point of Magus families are to find the Root or something so that they can reach True Magic or something, blah blah blah, ultimate magic. But still, in Holy Grail Wars, Masters can end up being normal people too. As long as the person can supply the Servants mana so they can stay summoned (bc if they can’t supply mana it’s either, drain other people of blood for their mana but that’ll kill some people, or uhhhhh.... well let’s just say the original F/SN visual novel was an eroge and take that as you will). But yeah, once the Holy Grail War is over, all the servants disappear and go back to resting. Normally servants are summoned through a magic circle and a catalyst related to the servant, but we can be flexible with a lot with this AU. While I will follow some FSN rules I don’t think I’m going to follow all of them and will add some as time goes on.

So 7 of our ProSeka characters end up becoming Masters for this Holy Grail ‘War’. I don’t know if I want them to actually fight. Honestly, at most, maybe I’ll have 6 ProSeka characters be Masters, 1 OC Master being a villain of some sort, and the rest as either side characters or Servants. Anyways, nothing is set in stone for this part. Some ideas for Master/Servant pairings:

Master: Ena, Servant: Mizuki (Saber)

Ena comes from a Magus family, but their father chooses to not teach his children bc he doesn’t want them to get mixed up with all of the Magus politics and stuff since it’d be dangerous and he wants his kids to live normally. Ofc tho, Dad Shinonome is a jerk about it. Ena and Akito know a little bit of magic, but not as much as their father. Akito only really uses it for recreational use since he’s not interested in being a Magus, but Ena wants to continue their bloodline since she is proud of their family magic. Akito is better suited for it, but Ena is still determined. I had the idea that their magic is a form of creation. Whatever they can draw can physically form, but it’s complicated bc they need the right materials and enough mana (it takes a lot of mana for simple stuff). Akito uses spray cans when he decides to use it, Ena uses paint brushes and pens. Anyways, she hears about the summoning ritual from her father and decides to steal his catalyst and participate in the HGW herself. She copies the magic circle and uses the catalyst (an old ribbon that’s barely being held together) to summon a servant. She ends up summoning a Saber (some say the strongest type of servant) and that servant is Knight Captain Mizuki. Mizuki recognizes Ena since Mizuki had served Ena in their previous life where Ena was a princess. They were in love, but Mizuki had failed to protect Ena in their previous life. Mizuki tries to act normal around Ena (their normal laid back personality), but Ena can tell that something is up. Eventually through the dream cycles between Masters and Servants (they see each others memories while dreaming), Ena puts the pieces together.

Master: Airi, Servant: Shizuku (Archer)

Airi does not come from a Magus family, but is a newer generation Magus. She is constantly looked down on by her Magus peers bc of her lack of family history (implies her magic is weaker, it’s not, but you know boomer bias). She wanted to use her magic to help bring joy to people instead of finding the Root. Though her magic is more like physical augmentation, but still she wants to be respected. At some point she had decided to do some idol work to help provide happiness to others, but main story stuff still happens. In her despair after quitting being an idol, she decides to go back to magic and participates in the HGW after seeing the Master’s marking on her hand (Masters have 3 distinct markings on their hand to signify they are Masters as well as those 3 markings being 3 Command Seals which are used to either boost their Servant or be commands that have to be fulfilled by the Servant, whether it’s killing themselves or killing someone else or anything within reason, Servants disappear if all 3 Command Seals are used up). Airi is able to find an old hat that looks like a witch’s hat and ends up summoning Shizuku. Shizuku is confused as to why she was summoned as an Archer since she’s normally a Caster, but it can happen. (Shizuku is capable of being summoned in multiple classes and I guess the Caster Servant has already been summoned by the time Airi summoned Shizuku, I also couldn’t think of who else could fill the Archer slot so we have Archer Shizuku). Shizuku recognizes Airi from her past life (I swear not all the master/servant duos will be like this). So she’s clingy with Airi. That’s as far as I got for this.

Master: Akito, Servant: Toya (Lancer)

Master: , Servant: (Caster):

Master: Saki, Servant: Shiho (Rider)

Angst for Shiho fighting her sister.

Master: Tsukasa, Servant: Rui (Assassin)

Tsukasa treats Rui like an equal as well as working with Rui like partners. Rui is overwhelmed by Tsukasa’s kindness and honor. Mizuki recognizes Rui and Tsukasa from their previous life. Rui didn’t know Tsukasa when he was alive, but he had heard about Tsukasa.

Master: Mafuyu , Servant: Kanade (Berserker)

Mafuyu is from a strict and long line of Magus family. Her mother is proud of her daughter’s strong abilities and is also proud that her daughter will participate in the HGW. She expects Mafuyu to win and grant their family access to the Root. Mafuyu is tired of the life expected for her by her parents, but she can’t escape. The catalyst uses some music sheets as a catalyst and summons Berserker Kanade. In life, Kanade was a hermit who lived at the edge of the main capital. She was a known healer who would try to heal as many people as she could. Her drive to save others was seen as a form of insanity since she always went to extremes in order to help others. Her life ended when the people around her executed her, accusing her of being a witch (in some ways they were right). Kanade sees Mafuyu and instantly decides to save her bc of the despair in Mafuyu’s eyes (so similar to hers).

Others:

Honami is a part of the church organization. She was sent out to investigate and help with this HGW after the original over seer went missing.

Ruler class Servant Minori is summoned by the grail bc of meddling with the grail. She tries to investigate as well as to what is happening. Runs into Haruka a few times and they end up forming a bond(?).

Kohane is a normal person who runs into an odd person named An one day. (haven’t decided if An is an extra servant or Magus yet).

Undecided for the rest.

So yeah that’s the layout I have so far. I have no idea who I want as the last Master/Servant pair. I’ll think about it later, this is already getting pretty bloated. If you have any ideas, let me know. I always like hearing speculations. I’ll probably add more later since I like the Fate series a lot and I didn’t go as in depth in some areas as I wanted to. The idea is that eventually everyone will be forced to work together against some big bad (whether it’s the Church, another Magus, or an ancient evil). Eventually whoever ends up winning makes a wish for all of the servants to be reincarnated as humans to let them live happier 2nd lives. Or something like that kind of ending.
