Theres a big concept in sports and athleticism called base building. Basically you need to do it slow and you need to do it right and keep that heart beat between X and Y (different for everyone) for you to be successful over the season. Now I think this is just as important with magic. Lots of kiddos (myself included) want to dive right in without learning and theory or basics. While you can do some harder things in a base building stage there is always a big focus on fundamentals.
