Rafayel:

Of course he fell first. You saved him. You befriended him. You encouraged him. You supported him. You bestowed your heart in his hands with a smile on your face. And you betrayed him. His love haunts him, for only he recalls these memories. And yet! And yet, he finds himself unable to detach from you. An urge beyond a mere bond. Your relation in the modern day, a palimpsest of new experiences atop old emotions. It’s new and old, scary and nostalgic. He doesn’t know if this path will end the same as every other path. He is a god. His every act demands a grand sacrifice, even from himself. And yet, he chooses to fall.

You fell harder. Who was this strange, charming, enticing man? Initially a job turned into best friend. You couldn’t imagine being in a position where you find yourself reaching out to someone you barely know but fully trust. Rafayel was surprisingly fun. Always keeping you looped and eagerly seeking for you to entwine back. Touchy. Deep, and very caring. His loyalty astounds you when surrounded by the lights and smiles of admirers. No matter how high to the gods his talents take him, he always seems to look down only upon you. It’s a different sensation, yet very familiar. Too familiar as your dreams are too eager to play on familiar faces and memories. You really don’t know where life with Rafayel will take you, but you’re slowly finding it impossible to imagine it without him.

Pinocchio:

You fell first. How could you not? A sweet, quiet, gentleman-puppet with a mischievous streak. In the wreak of Krat, this sole life drew you in. Pinocchio shone for he remained every enchanted, ever curious with the world, no matter how decayed it was. It was addicting. He taught you to experience life anew. You couldn’t help the resurgence of feelings you thought died with Krat. But you held back. He was a puppet, brand new to life. You could not possibly foist such emotions onto someone so, young – emotionally. Instead you savoured the friendship, and bitterly swallowed back your feelings, hoping they would go away one day. But they wouldn’t. So you fell harder.

Pinocchio is new to emotions, yes, but he isn’t a fool to himself. He may not be able to express himself as articulately as he imagines or desires, but he understands what he feels. The more he grew, the more he discovered. And so, to him, it made perfect sense to read a book and instantly connect the couple to him and you. And it made perfect sense to show you the book, point to the couple, and then move his finger back and forth indicating the two of you. He didn’t understand your frown and shake of your head. He didn’t understand your words or disagreement. Yes, you are friends. Yes, very close friends. But to Pinocchio, you are also what this couple was. Why else would he scrounge around for odd bits for you after a battle? Why else does he go to you first when he comes home covered in oil, mechanical hand in bad need of repair? What did it mean to you to be this couple? Yes, he would like to hold you. Yes, he does seek you out. Would you let him in?

Aventurine / Kakavasha

You fell first, but it took a long time. Aventurine would not show you any side of him beyond his persona of the gambling manipulator, and you could care less. For the longest time, he was just that guy you sometimes worked with. You worked surprisingly well together. Mostly because you let him plan everything out, putting in a voice when you knew your idea would work. It surprised you that he seriously considered your inputs. It surprised everyone else too, which was why you were unofficially Aventurine’s work partner. People really learn about one another when they’re exhausted, and their lives are on the line. Aventurine slipped his mask a little, but it was enough to see that there was more to him. You didn’t call attention to it, but quietly responded. If he noticed, he didn’t draw back. It was really the small things like holding his cup while he played, making sure no one slipped anything into his drink. Or carrying him to bed when he fell asleep at his desk again. You were just being a good person, until that moment. He was gambling, again, and you saw it. It was almost imperceptible, but after working alongside him, you knew when something was off. The stakes were high, and his hand started to tremble. You found yourself holding onto his hand. In shock, he let the dice go as he turned towards you. He won the game but attained a better reward. You.

Aventurine doesn’t pride himself on how long it took for him to let you in. He exaggerates kind acts because his life seemed to abstain from it, but he knows to be wary. That every open hand conceals a dagger. Which was why your nonchalance surprised him. You didn’t fawn over him, nor did you detest him. He was his himself around you, and he couldn’t bear that. But you were useful, and so easy to be around. So he pushed you and tested you, but it seemed that he was the only one who tired out. Aventurine cracked and Kakavasha peeked out. He expected a complete rejection, but you, you held his hand, and he has yet to let go.

(x Reader) Headcanons - Maintaining and Repairing P

• Sitting him down in the P-Organ chair and opening him up is an intimate occurrence. Only those closest to him are allowed to handle him in such a vulnerable and delicate state. For more complex maintenance, he usually has to expose his chest or back.

• P basically has to coach you on how to properly maintain certain parts of his body, because he can't do all of it himself... Thankfully, he's picked up enough by watching Geppetto that he understands, in general, what needs to be done. You probably should borrow a tough pair of working gloves from Eugenie, though.

• Through the guidance of P and Eugenie, you essentially become an amateur mechanic so you can help your favorite boy stay healthy and in top fighting form. Geppetto, when he’s actually present in the Hotel and not being kidnapped somewhere, is absolutely not allowed to know about this. He would absolutely lose his mind knowing his greatest creation is being tinkered with by an amateur.

• Pinocchio prefers to come to you whenever he needs something minor done. When he needs cartridges or converters installed, he believes you will be the most careful with the cold, sharp components of his superficial mechanical insides. The warmth of your hands coming into contact with the metal inner workings of his body calms him. Your touch when fixing him up is much more attentive and warm than that of his father’s.

(In theory, P likely could install some parts such as amulets or cartridges by himself, but then he wouldn't get to feel your meticulous human hands inside of him, so...)

• Eugenie and Venigni typically handle P’s legion arm when it needs repairs or upgrades. Sometimes though, you’ll notice that the exterior of P’s metal arm is particularly scratched up or stained. After any repairs, P often brings his legion arm to you. You polish the exterior very nicely for him, and make sure the exposed gears and joints are shiny and clean. This tends to make his finger and wrist movements a bit more fluid, too. And while you do all this, he will hover there watching you. Armless, staring, and unmoving. His stare is affectionate, even if you can't tell.

• Post Rise of P, when he’s certainly doing less fighting, there are still times where Pinocchio needs a brief examination to make sure everything is running the way it should. It's not too unusual that he’ll occasionally need a few wires in his chest straightened out, or a valve in his heart tweaked.

• Immediately after the trauma of having his father attempt to rip his heart from his chest, Pinocchio is more guarded about being opened up. He might tense up during regular maintenance or try to avoid it entirely. He knows that he can trust his friends, and you, of course, but the scar that that event left on him hasn't healed.

• Something that helps P is being able to see exactly what someone is doing to him. You can prop up a mirror in front of you while you work so he can see what you're up to in there, and it's a great comfort to P. Be sure to flash him a reassuring smile every once in a while, too.

• After some maintenance, Pinocchio always wants to show you how grateful he is. Once you've closed him up and he's re-dressed, he'll plant a tiny kiss on your forehead or cheek as a show of love for keeping his mechanisms healthy.

Kissing P headcanons [P x reader]

Don't expect him to take the initiative. Pinocchio is completely clueless about basic human gestures of affection, and that includes kissing.

The first time you try to kiss him, he'll probably just stand there, eyes wide open and awkwardly staring into yours as you get closer and closer to his face. He's just trying to figure out what you're trying to do.

He might even misunderstand and gently press his forehead against yours. Despite your embarrassment in the moment, Pinocchio will continue to gaze at your face, amazed by the languor in your eyes, the flush on your cheeks, and the reassuring warmth of your breath on his lips.

When he sees a smile forming on your lips, he'll relax considerably, and you might even notice a spark of tenderness in his eyes. But your first kiss will be nothing more than your lips pressed together.

Pinocchio is very receptive to your reactions, so he'll immediately notice the sudden increase in your pulse and the flush on your face. At that point, he'll start asking you disarmingly candid questions like "Your heart is beating fast... is it me?" totally unaware that he's only making things worse.

You might think you haven't had any effect on him, but in his chest, his mechanisms are ticking much faster than usual.

His lips, as well as the rest of his body, are extremely cold, so it's a sensation you might have trouble getting used to. However, his skin is quite soft, just like yours.

His scent is a curious blend of a faint metallic smell of mineral oils and a earthy aroma of musk. Curiously, it's not unpleasant, but it's still something very special that sets him apart and that you'll end up loving dearly.

Over time, as he gains humanity, Pinocchio will seek more and more moments of intimacy with you, both to enjoy the obvious effect his presence has on your body, and because it allows him to discover things about himself that he didn't believe were possible.

Each time your lips meet, his body will react more and more openly to your touch. The warmth of your breath, the unmistakable feeling in your eyes, and your fingers clutching his chest will make his mechanical heart beat painfully fast.

Gradually, he will start to close his eyes to give himself completely to you. His arms will return your embrace, and his kisses will begin to be more conscious and deep.

He may even forget that you need to breathe, starting to kiss you in rapid succession, whispering "More." on your lips between one kiss and the next, leaving you completely breathless.

The warmth of your skin is extremely familiar and comforting to him, so he will melt with every kiss, not only on the lips, but also on the nose and the freckles that dot his face.

one of the biggest things for p is quality time

i've seen some people on here have the reader read stories to pino and oh my gosh i absolutely love the idea

not only would he listen to you read stories to him, but he would also just be a great listener in general

whether you're telling him about your day or ranting about a pet peeve

he will always listen to you intently because well!!! he loves you and you could never annoy him

not that pino gets annoyed often... unless it's at gemini...

another thing i can see that pretty boy doing is kiss his partner periodically without warning

and he will do it EVERYWHERE

- The first moment he met you, he'd try to fight.

- After noticing you're self-conscious and have free will just like him, he'd definitely give you a chance to prove you're not like the others.

- A lot of silence, a lot of talking, it's 50/50. You both would go out in missions and return without speaking a single word, but the moment he felt comfortable enough, he'd talk about everything, everything his dad doesn't talk to him, everything he notices around and has no one to share it with, but now, this person is you. This young puppet is also a very good listener, paying attention to every comment you'd bring up.

- Every kind of interaction he learned about humans, he would try to remake to you. Giving flowers? Yes. Doing small favors whenever? Yes. Complimenting you every time you wear something new? Yes. It makes him feel human more than anything.

- Pino wouldn't be overprotective on you in battles, he knows very well you're strong, skilled, and can take care of yourself by your own. He would disappear for a few minutes and come back with useful stuff he found on the streets. Since you're a puppet too, being seriously injured wouldn't scare him, after all, Eugenie, Venigni or Geppetto can fix you later.

- Your P organ. Everything said before is not considered here, it's all fine until you get damaged next to your heart. He'd be desperate and do anything he can to protect you while you're not in safety. Pino will protect your P organ like it is his own on. Gettingg your heart destroyed means getting his partner away from forever.

Lawful Dumbass P Headcanons

Pinocchio was initially very intrigued when you explained him where you can find and a human's heartbeat. He would sometimes hold fingers to your wrist and just below your jaw out of the blue as if needing to double-check your status as living, just in case.

On one occasion he presses his head to your chest and listens to the dull thump of your heart in a sort of trance. However, he jumps back in surprise upon hearing your stomach rumble. He looks at you with wide eyes in utter shock. You assure him about a million times that this is normal and unlike him, humans get hungry all the time. He is not entirely convinced and seemed to think there was a creature hiding in your torso for days.

While you're writing one day, he notices you absentmindedly biting the end of a pen, deep in thought. He starts doing this when he's pacing around Krat, although he really just grabs whatever happens to be nearby that could vaguely fit in his mouth. You've seen him try this with one of Eugenie's screwdrivers. She did not want it back.

You told Pinocchio a secret once and made him pinky swear not to tell anyone. He cocks his head to the side, confused. You take this opportunity to explain to him that a pinky promise is a time-honored human tradition of the utmost severity, a symbol of trust never to be broken. "In fact, if you are ever to go back on your word," You speak in a low grave tone, extending your pinky finger to him, "you'll be cursed. Forever." He takes this very seriously, locking his finger solemnly with yours before laying his hand over his heart with a stern expression, now forever oath-bound to you. It's damn near impossible for you to hold back laughter. As far as you know, he still believes you to this day.

There was a time that he came to you seemingly insecure, feeling wholly overwhelmed with an existential line of questioning about his burgeoning humanity. Was he really still only a puppet? Could he ever truly be considered human? Was he some unknown third possibility, alone in his otherness? You try in earnest to comfort him, assuring him that his exterior is irrelevant in the end. Though he may not be made of flesh and blood, it's what lies beneath the surface, deep inside, that matters. He seems to really consider this, and immediately retrieves his literal mechanical heart from his chest, holding it out to you quizzically. You gently push it back into his hands and shake your head. "Oh. No. Not like that." You stammer in complete awe.

🦋 Sooo, I’ve had these three scenarios rotating in my mind as of late:

1. Reader accidentally falls asleep on P’s metal hand. They are too tired and decide to lean on him as a joke, but end up falling asleep for real once they close their eyes. Pino, of course, doesn’t move and tries not to wake them up. When they wake up from their short nap, their face is covered with imprints from the legion arm. A lot of giggling follows.

2. Reader wears an armor ring or a set of armor rings on their left hand to match with their dear P. As a result they both develop an interesting gesture of friendship: the handshake of the metal hands.

3. Reader forgets that Flamberge is a literal flamethrower and grabs Pino‘s hand in excitement after he‘s used the arm. It‘s still very hot and reader burns their hand but juuuust a little bit. It‘s still enough to set P into panic. Poor guy feels guilty for a long time and reader has to often assure him that it‘s not something serious. (Totally not inspired by me burning my hand while boiling water for coffee last night…)

Omg, you know that theory where part of acknowledging an existence is to give that existence a name? Well in LoP no one actually calls P anything. They refer to him by titles and roles but not an actual name. But the players immediately call him P or Pinocchio and differentiate P from Carlo. We immediately give P his humanity. And if we’re just looking at in game context, what if P named himself? Probably starting as a short form of puppet. But Something he found easier or or cool, either of which indicates his sense of identity?!?

Imagine trying to tell Pino that you find him so attractive because he's mind-bendingly powerful, but he doesn't use that strength to hurt you. He can wield greatswords twice the size of him, punch through doors, and deflect any incoming blow.

He could rip you in half if he wanted to but *chooses* not to, and THAT'S attractive.

He does not understand.

"But... I would never hurt you."

"Yes! That's why I love you so much!! Do you get it?"

P showing affection headcanons {P x reader}

For P, displays of affection are not something familiar, canonical, or automatic, even if there is a clear emotional bond between you.

In general, at first there may be nothing really physical between you, but a lot of eye contact. At first only furtive glances that would become increasingly intense and obvious over time. For Pinocchio, observing you is something that makes him feel extremely close to you.

He may initially have difficulty touching you for fear of not being able to control his force and hurting you, especially with his Legion arm.

Over time, his displays of affection would begin to become more explicit and physical, but they would still be a bit unusual and instinctive gestures, such as, for example, kissing a lock of your hair while you are facing away just to feel its scent.

Resting his head on your shoulder like a sleepy child, or pressing his forehead against yours when you are within kissing distance.

For him, feeling your breath, the warmth of your skin, and the beating of your heart is already something extremely intimate, something that helps him to approach what is human in you.

So don't be surprised if he wants to feel your heart beating under his palm or at his ear. Not only is it fascinating for him, but it is also extremely soothing. He would like to have the same tangible proof of his emotions.

Expressions are not his strong point, so his face would always remain rather neutral even in the most tender moments, but the faster ticking in his chest is an unmistakable sign of the effect you have on him.

If he ever saw two lovers depicted somewhere, he would end up replicating with you what he saw, such as a kiss on the hand or an invitation to dance, but they would probably be sweetly awkward or out of context gestures.

A clear sign of interest in you would be his willingness to listen to you. P is generally a good listener, but in your case, he would do nothing but seek your company just to hear what you have to say or tell him. He might even ask you to sing for him or to read him some books.

He would always come back to you, at any cost, in any physical condition he would do anything to see you again.

Pinocchio is a silent type, but he would show his affection by calling your name or trying to communicate with you as much as possible through words. Especially by asking you questions.

By playing the piano for you. Feelings are something completely new to P, but through music he would definitely be able to convey much of his own emotion.

By trying in any way to alleviate your suffering, no matter how trivial it may be. Your pain and your tears cause him a disturbance that he cannot fully grasp, so his solution could be to physically remove you from a situation of danger or suffering.

In the same way, if there is something you want, that you miss from your life in Krat, he will do anything to get it or find it again. You'd better not tell him you love cats or you might find the Hotel invaded by stray cats he's brought back from his outings.

He would trust you blindly, so much so that he would entrust you with his heart.

there's quite a popular hc that pino likes it when people play with his hair and i am 100% on board with it

not only does he love having his hair played with, but his favorite place to do it is on your lap

p will just see you sitting down on a love seat and he'll make his way over and plop his head on your thighs, expecting you to play with his hair

he doesn't even ask tbh it's just mandatory whenever you do it the second his head hits your thighs

and if you don't? he'll just stare at you like 🧿_🧿

p also loves it when you rest your head on his chest

i think his chest being touched is an easy way to put butterflies in his tummy

Lies of P Teacher AU

Mr. P: Instrumental Music

He prefers to express himself through music and conduction rather than words. He is very kind, soft spoken, and handsome, so a lot of people have crushes on him. His grey hair despite his youth is a mystery to the entire student body, who often circulate rumors about it. No one knows what the P stands for, either.

The Corday Sisters: Choir

The Cordays are a sisterly duo who teach choral classes and also manage the school's show choir.

Mr. Carlo: English Literature

He refuses to use his last name because of the association with his father who teaches at the same school. He is very casual with his students and jokes around a lot, but is also a very harsh grader and isn't afraid to be outright mean to misbehaving students, a similarity he shares with his father. However, he's so down-to-earth (and handsome) that most don't hold it against him. He's so different from Mr. P that most forget they're brothers even if they have identical faces.

Romeo: Language Arts & Drama

Romeo teaches theater history and LA to the younger students of the high school while Mr. Carlo handles the older ones. Their classrooms are next to each other and they're constantly hanging out in each other's. Some students suspect there might be something going on between the two of them. Romeo is easygoing and very casual, and asks to be called by his first name to create a more comfortable environment. He has a pride flag on his desk and also runs the drama club after school.

Signor Geppetto: Art

The second oldest but definitely meanest teacher at the school. Art is NOT a slack off elective. He runs class like a drill sergeant and has very high expectations most fail to meet. He's a world-renowned artist from Italy. It's considered a rarity to see him smiling and only a select handful can attest to ever witnessing it. People often transfer out of his class after the first week, and it's common to see students leave his classroom in tears. Some are stuck up and talented enough to get into his inner circle and always shittalk others' work while they eat their lunches in his classroom, or hang out there after school, which Signor Geppetto isn't shy about joining in on. This makes him revered to just a select few.

Mr. Giangio: Agricultural Studies

He's the newest teacher at the school and is considered very odd. He's always misplaced something and dresses overly formal. The students are convinced he has no idea what he's doing and are learning alongside them. The advanced students even seem more knowledgeable than he...Seriously, why is he at this school?

Belle & Atkinson: Physical Education & Health

A husband-and-wife duo that wear matching track suits every day. They're tough, but kind, and take what they do very seriously. Prefer to be called by their first names.

Mr. Alidoro: History

Despite his youthful appearance, this guy knows a ton and has the experience to back it up. He makes history interesting to students by tying in real-life stories about his adventures. Some insist they have to be fake, but he does have a ton of relics on display all over the classroom to prove them. He has a service dog that is with him in class every day. The kids love him!

Mr. Hugo: History - Student Teacher

Mr. Hugo is Mr. Alidoro's student teacher. He's studying to be a history teacher himself and is a big fan of Mr. Alidoro. Seems like an eager puppy himself. It makes for an interesting dynamic in the classroom that entertains students. Some people think he might have a crush on him since he seems so eager to bend over backwards. Mr. Alidoro seems oblivious to it.

Miss Monad: Basic Social Studies & Psychology

Miss Monad is very pretty and very kind. She is loved by all and students never misbehave in her presence. Those who do early on in the semester get so much hate from their peers, they never dare to do so again. She always wears a pretty butterfly brooch somewhere on her outfit. It seems very special to her, and she tells those who ask as much, but no one really knows what it means. She seems to have a very good understanding of her subject and her gentleness commands a certain respect from both kids and her peers.

Mr. Manus seems to have a crush on her and keeps visiting her classroom whenever he can since it's down the hall from his, but when he is around seems to be the only time she is a bit sharp. She's not afraid to tell him to bug off, even if it is in a very polite way.

Mr. Gemini: Robotics & Computer Sciences

Mr. Gemini is great with technology and anything computer-related. He talks a lot and is kind of a stereotypical nerd. He gets very excited when students take interest in his subject and geeks out right alongside them. He's a total chatterbox and spends his lunch hour in Mr. P's classroom listening to the music being played. They seem to be best friends and make a funny duo, since Mr. P barely says a word and Mr. Gemini can't shut up.

Mr. Venigni: Basic Sciences & Physics

A famous inventor who was invited to teach in Krat by Principal Cerasani so that he could spread his breadth of knowledge with the next generation of scientists. He dresses very eccentric, has a funny mustache, and at first, a lot of students have difficulty understanding his heavy Italian accent. Even though some can find his subject hard, he makes sure every student gets the help they need and is actually very thoughtful. He makes sure his students are prepared for Mr. Manus's classes, but something about the way his usual cheerful demeanor changes around him tells kids that they might not actually get along despite teaching in the same department.

Mr. Manus: Chemistry & Advanced Sciences

Mr. Manus is older, but is still considered one of the more handsome teachers at the school. He is very charismatic and is always friendly outside of the classroom, which encourages students to sign up for his advanced classes even if they're not the best at science. He playfully shittalks Mr. Venigni from time to time, which can rub some the wrong way. He doesn't seem to get along with the other teachers in general. He's strict but fair, and overall somehow kind of intimidating despite his outwardly gentle smile. A bit of an enigma.

Mr. Pulcinella - Home Economics

Mr. Venigni's adoptive father, though no one actually knows that. He's the oldest teacher at the school. He's soft-spoken and very kind, but a little boring to some. Others enjoy the calming and very peaceful atmosphere his classroom brings; it's a boon within an otherwise busy school day.

Miss Eugénie: Woodworking & Shop

She's young and very pretty. She teaches shop and because of her wit and general likability, a lot of students end up crafting gifts for her. Her little office is floor-to-ceiling project presents that have been given to her over the few years she's been teaching. Even people uninterested in shop take it just because they hear such good things about her. She isn't afraid to speak her mind, though, and if something is ugly--she'll tell it to your face. That doesn't mean she'll cherish it any less.

Ms. Cerasani & Mr. Polendina: Principal & Her Right-hand Associate Principal

Everyone loves Ms. Cerasani! She is very kind and has created a very loving environment in the school. She is always willing to listen to her staff and is patient with everyone. She actually was a famous pianist in her youth, and sometimes she stops by Mr. P's classroom to play a song for the students, who listen in awe and amazement. Mr. Polendina is a stickler for rules which sometimes makes him the butt of student jokes, just because he's so very uptight.

Breaking up with P - Headcanons

- The conversation wouldn't involve voice rising, anger attitude, or anything like that. Even when breaking up with you, he would be polite and respectful as always

- No more gentle touches, sweet looks, simple gifts, of course, just like any other break up, but the most hurtful thing will be he avoiding you, passing through, and doesn't stopping to kiss or hug you

- What a torture watch him talk normally to everyone at the hotel, but when it comes to you, only expect greeting or important information

- He's not evil, he wouldn't ever like to see you suffer, said that, he will be as much as he can outside, doing tasks, cleaning streets or just wandering around to stay away from the hotel

- No gossip or talking bad. Pino will stay silent for any question about your relationship, he thinks it's disrespectful with both of you exposing what happened or the break up reason. Also, don't expect he will say a single bad word about you to anyone else, and will not tolerate someone talking bad about you to him too.

- Extra: I can see this poor boy feeling his heart breaking in pieces, so much pain he thinks that can't handle it, although he will not show that to you, everyone at the hotel knows how much he's missing you but denies to let you know.
