Did you know that woodpeckers store seeds, berries, and acorns in the hollows of trees to prepare for the winter? In late autumn, these resourceful birds not only stash food for the colder months but also occasionally utilize these tree hollows as shelter for resting.

Nordic Summer's Evening #RichardBergh #Duke of #Närke, PrinceEugen of #Sweden and #Norway and singer #KarinPyk stand on the balcony of a house in #Kyrkviken on the Island of #Lidingö (#Stockholm). They have turned away from us and are looking out over a stretch of water that has a calm, mirror-like aspect. Behind them a marvelous #panorama opens up. It is #sunset and we see the last of the evening’s orange light on the surface of the water and the #forest in the background. #NordicSummerEvening is one of the most famous paintings of Swedish #painter, #portraitist, #landscapist, and #writer #RichardBergh. Although it is not directly a #ValentinesDay painting, Nordic Summer Evening has something that makes it perfect for this day. I think it is because of the #mystery behind it. It looks like something may be going on between the two characters, but what exactly? Are they at the beginning of the #romance? Or, on the opposite, is their #relationship already established? Is it secretive, or are they bound by some social conventions? That's the unknown! — #DailyArt 170 × 223.5 cm #OilOnCanvas #GothenburgMuseumOfArt #Göteborg, #Sverige (at Stockholm, Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/Coqh9sdpaMB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

What does the Swedish accent sound like? :3 Do you have references??? :D
This is a funny sketch about Stockholm and its accent, there are English subtitles if you would like to understand what's going on. They are talking in the stockholm accent
This is a guy imitating I think all dialects in sweden!! Stockholm is approximately 2.40, you can compare it to the dialect coming right after it
The stockholm accent is described (mostly by other parts of Sweden) as being bomptious, snobby etc. The "i" sounds are a but sharper, the "ä" sound can come out as "e" instead. Like "var är du" (where are you) could be pronounced "var e du".
Swedish accent in english sounds a bit like this (here you have her pronouncing the stockholm/lidingö "j" and "i" sound too!!!)

Young Royals and pronunciation, part 2
Alright, let's continue this series of pronunciation guides for character names! I'll cover the remaining three main characters in this post, and I'll do a catch-up of minor characters later.
Let's start with August, have a listen:
youtube
If you're American, there's a good chance your particular dialect has gone through the cot-caught-merger, in which case congratulations, your English pronunciation of not-September is very close to how most Swedes would say the name. Just listen to Madison in the middle of the clip for a good example of that. If you're British or speak any other dialect of English that uses the vowel /ɔ/ here as in flaw or haunt or border, that's the wrong one, and you need to switch to /ɑ/ as in car or father.
Note that the Queen and Minou say his name with a diphthong, so instead of /ˈɑ:ɡəst/, they're saying /ˈɑʊɡəst/, same as in power or outer. Some of the other characters have a hint of this as well, so there's a range of acceptable ways of saying his name in Swedish.
Next up, Sara:
youtube
The biggest difference from English here is that in Swedish, both vowels are the same, so it's /saːra/ or saah-raah. Standard British pronunciation, /sɑːɹə/ is pretty close because it gets the first vowel right, but then sort of gives up and does a schwa at the end. Standard American pronunciation, /sɛɹə/, is on the other hand very far from the Swedish version.
If you're learning Swedish, one way that a native speaker will instantly clock you as a non-native is how you say 'r'. In English, 'r' is often silent, or said as an approximant or a flap. But in Swedish, they're slightly trilling, which means that the tip of your tongue should vibrate when you're saying it. If you listen to the clip again, you might pick it up, it's most prominent when Linda says "Sara rider", because Spanish also does it, although to a greater extent than Swedish. For an extreme example of trilling 'r', go watch any Lord of the Rings movie or tv-series, and listen to how the elves says words like Mordor or Sauron. But don't do that when you speak Swedish, it's too much trilling!
Finally, let's do Felice:
youtube
There's a bit of range in how characters say her name in the show, the length of the 'i' varies and Madison is probably the most consistent with her long /iː/, while August is all over the place. It's not important, say whatever you want, and the standard English pronunciation is perfectly ok.
Speaking of 'i', one way of doing a fake posh accent in Swedish, is by using the buzzing i or Lidingö-i. Thankfully, none of the characters in the show is using this sound, and you should not make this sound. Here's an aptly-named instructional video about it to show you what it sounds like: DON'T MAKE THIS HORRIBLE SWEDISH SOUND. You can learn how to do it from that video, but please don't. I mean it. Don't.

The score of the headache was astonishing in its diversity: the sound of her own heavy boots bounced off the walls and echoed in her head, playing along with the already excessive pulsation; the toxic light of the LED lamps confidently burned through her retina; Reed's snoring from the side was terrifying with its whistling sound.
Rachel was exhausted.
She had slept exactly zero hours in the last fifty-two hours. The fight in Lidingö reminded her of itself with aching thighs and a clicking sound in her jaw, which was a little frightening with the possibility of the upcoming inability to open her mouth normally. She put on sunglasses on the way to at least somehow protect herself from the light gnawing at her consciousness, causing Reed to look at her with a puzzled look.
Fuck Reed.
— Why are we late?
Deputy Captain David Fletcher unhappily pulled his already rat-like face into a semblance of displeasure. But the captain himself - Gordon Lewis, Erica Sloan's deputy, ignored his subordinate's attack.
— Hello, Rachel. How are you?
If she had been ready for revelations, she would have answered without hesitation that she had been performing "Sisyphean labor." But out of habit, she nodded silently. Gordon nodded in response, just in case giving a slight squint to show his distrust. Just like Rachel's distrust of the chair that creaked pitifully under her weight.
— Okay. Now that everyone is here, I can officially start the meeting. - Gordon stood up and threw forward several folders that slid across the table. — We have to finish the Abel case by the end of the month.
Reed, who was accompanying her, swallowed nervously. Richard Abel had been a headache for the entire intelligence agency for the past few months.
— The next target? — Rachel got straight to the point.
— Not exactly. This is another group's work. As well as all the related arrests. — Something flew out from under Gordon's gray mustache that caused a slight soreness and displeasure in Rachel.
— Then why am I here?
— I need information. I need to know where this damn Harry is, who can lead me to Abel.
The only thread leading to Richard Abel was a certain "Harry", who was marked in the folder with a red sticky note. Rachel leafed through the pages of interrogations of witnesses, who all said that he was an elusive ghost, passing through walls, appearing at night and disappearing at dawn. It was a pity that someone else would have to deal with capturing this ghost, because she, like no one else, was pacifying such restless souls.
— That's not all. You will work in a pair.
The girl again turned her attention to the captain, burning him through the lenses of sunglasses. She never worked in a pair and he knew it. But being a professional, Rachel remembered that her task was to perform duties, and not to discuss the need for this or that. At least with Gordon.
— Your partner. — Gordon pointed to the side. — August Walker.
__________________________
August didn't know what irritated him more — the sunglasses she had put on in the room or his own misunderstanding of who she was, which even her personal file couldn't brighten up. The activity of this woman, which brought only death, was expressed in her gloomy image — black trousers complemented by a black turtleneck with a black coat thrown over it. Dark hair and dark lipstick.
He nodded silently in greeting, as he did every time at the first meeting, giving the person a chance to declare himself. But Rachel didn't even deign to nod. She glanced at him from under her black lenses — and silently turned away.
And only Gordon's phrase, thrown out before the meeting, became the spark that was now burning through August's insides — "be on guard, every minute." Gordon warned few people like that.
— I can go right now and stir up this hornet's nest a little, if they give me a conference room for three hours after, — she offered.
— "We" can go, - the captain emphasized, hinting at his partner. — Want to drag someone in for questioning?
Rachel took off her glasses. The many capillary networks on her eyes created a picture of ruby eyes, which were emphasized by sunken purple circles under the lower eyelids.
— I want to sleep.
__________________________
But it didn't work out as fast as she would have liked. Her partner disappeared right after the meeting ended, although she had hoped that they wouldn't postpone the trip. She needed some damn sleep, so she immediately asked Reed with his sour expression where that son of a bitch Walker's office was.
— Let's go, — Rachel said briefly, entering without knocking.
But August didn't even move. Moreover, he didn't even raise his face to note the presence of another person in his office. Rachel was irritated by the lack of manners, which, incidentally, she herself did not have. But the need to involve a man in what was Lewis's order was beyond her patience. She approached his desk and, without the slightest remorse or embarrassment, slammed shut the folder whose contents he had just been studying. So now he had the opportunity to study her displeased face.
— Oh, my sweet boy. You probably need foreplay. But let's skip all these stages when we need to get to know each other, become best friends-partners who go to each other's houses for dinner every other Saturday. I am as happy as you are about the situation that has developed, that I need to do joint work, although I always do it alone. But I can say with certainty that Gordon put you with me only so that I could introduce you to my contacts. You need this first and foremost. So I tell you for the first and last time — I am not a nanny. Let's go.
His face did not betray a single emotion at her outburst, and Rachel measured him with the same absent gaze, feeling how her jaw clenched even more than usual. Intuition told her that she should be on guard.
Fifteen minutes later, she was already touching the cool car glass with her right temple. Her eyes closed on their own. The purr of the engine and the slight vibration of the cabin seemed so lulling that, crossing her arms over her chest, she grouped herself, intending to jump into a short sleep.
— How do you propose to proceed?
The voice of her partner made her open her eyes sharply, habitually grabbing the holster on her side. Turning her head towards him, Rachel saw a stern look and strong hands that confidently held the steering wheel. Gordon said that this man was one of those who were called in when everything was not going according to plan. Because he was one of the best. Reserved, cold. There was hope that his professionalism would allow her to get through the mission without any unnecessary hassle.
But her plans to take a nap were not destined to come true.
— It must be reminded that there can only be one "supplier" in the city.
— You hope the rats will jump ship?- August turned onto Fifth Avenue.
— The main thing is that this rat falls into our mousetrap.
She walked up the steps with great confidence, despite the poisonous name of the city's most dangerous club, the Snake. Nodding to the receptionist, she immediately got up from her chair and retreated into the very depths of this poisonous tangle of whores, acrid tobacco smoke, and small-time dealers. Rachel was irritated that their businesslike appearance was in fact empty when she began to talk to them the way she knew how.
— We need to wait, — she explained to August.
They sat down in the far corner on one side of the table on a purple leather sofa, which caused Rachel to have a slight attack of panic, leaving the opposite one to a man who had once owed her so much that he was now on a short leash. An unfamiliar man, who could have many "names" — a pusher, a messenger, a Brahmin, a maquill, a vendor — swaggered up to the table. But Rachel gave them the nickname "synthetic waiters." It was a small dealer, whose goal was to offer and hook. He pulled up a chair comfortably and, lounging on it, looked at her appraisingly.
— What can I do to please you, baby?
— My absence? — Rachel couldn't contain her disgust.
Even if she tried.
— You have a sharp tongue.
A loud exhalation through the nose was heard from the side where her partner was sitting. In Rachel's opinion, men have a tendency to admire themselves. Especially when they had the chance to become the patron of a defenseless woman. Therefore, she was ready for the fact that now a battle called "who has the biggest balls" would begin. But turning to August, she did not see a disdainful look or a smug grin in him. He was silent, not intending to become the very "protector" that Rachel never needed. At that very moment, Walker seemed damn attractive for the first time with his hard look from under his black eyelashes, which shone through with calm and determination.
— You better leave us alone, - still continuing to study her partner's face, the girl warned the "server".
— I'm doing you a favor with my presence, so...
— Listen, sunshine. — She turned to the misunderstanding that was starting to get annoying.     — You'll do me a favor when you finally decide to brush your teeth. Go back to where you crawled from.
— What did you just yelp?
