She's so beautiful! When I first saw her picture, she reminded me of a Disney Princess and it seems she really is one! She talks to plants and loves gardening, she's a hopeless romantic! She loves sweets too! 🥰���✨ Considering her nature vs what the Cavalieri family teaches, I can def see why she just can't absorb that type of mentality.

I wanna ask though, is it correct that her name is pronounced like "Lee-Deea"/"Lee-Dee-Ya", since Dija is "Deea"?

I do feel bad that she got left behind in that place, I hope Myr comes back for her soon! Break her out of there Myr! *P5 theme starts playing in the bg* Because if she's so ""expendable"" to the family, why won't they just let her off, is what I'm thinking but then again, families like these tend to be control-freaks (so no surprises if they don't want to).

Lidija Kastelic Cavalieri

Gender: Female

Pronouns: she/her

Age (at Ch.1): 20

Nationality: Italian (mother, Cavalieri) / Slovenian (father, Kastelic)

Height/Weight: approx. 165 cm/66 kg

Flame type: flameless

Affiliation: Cavalieri Family

Lidija was born under the most unfortunate circumstances in relation to Cavalieri standards. Her father is an “outsider”, a mercenary under the family’s service, and her mother a simple employee in the financial department; she suffers from asthma and has been overall unfit for fighting; and as if all of this didn’t make her expendable enough, she was born flame-less - she is physically unable to manifest and utilize the Pallid Flame.

It doesn’t stop there. Lidija has always been a caring, sweet, extroverted child. Her parents were taken from her and exiled when she was very young, and no matter how good her grades were (especially in maths) she could never absorb the Cavalieri’s mentality, and has been considered “dense” ever since. For this reason, she could never integrate herself socially with the other kids. She would try to mitigate that by being obedient and meek, but her emotions would always get the best of her and cause her to cry whenever under pressure.

The only person she was ever able to form a connection with was Myr. They met at five years old, and after some time of learning each other's personalities they’ve been inseparable ever since. She knows she could never become a free spirit like her friend, but still appreciates that Myr has learnt to accept her as weak and sensitive as she may be. The quiet and downcast little Lidija learns to express her emotions - like her natural cheerfulness and her love for plants and sweets - in spite of the Cavalieri’s will of suppress them in all their members, and visits her friend regularly.

Lidija has enver had a dream of her own. Myr gave her one, and promised her that they would leave the Cavalieri behind together. But Myr left. And now she waits, her hands held together…

NEsavršeNE: Mitovi o ženskim mentalnim bolestima i njihovom lečenju Lidija Vasiljević

Iskreno, vrlo sam se radovala ovoj knjizi kada sam je najzad nabavila. Problem sa mnom je taj da kupujem knjige koje onda stavljam po stolovima, stolicama, gde god i onda one čekaju i čame. Ipak, ova knjiga nije dugo čekala. Možda bi bilo bolje da jeste, jer i dalje ne mogu da razlučim da li mi knjiga nije legla, da li sam je uzela u pogrešnom momentu ili prosto ovo nije bilo za mene.

Da se razumemo, knjiga ima dosta bitnih informacija, ali te informacije mogu biti novina onima koji nisu, recimo, svoje fakultetske godine i još posle provele/i na Tumblr-u kada je Tumbrl bio glavno mesto za razmenu informacija i bitnije mesto od Twitter-a, pre nego što je Instagram postao zaista veliki. Većinu stvari o kojima Lidija Vasiljević ovde piše je pre 10 i više godina secirala klinka lezbejka iz (ne)udobnosti svoje sobe ili neka mlada nebinarna osoba pod imenom supernaturalwhore i sl.

Kako sama Lidija Vasiljević kaže, knjiga nastaje od 2008. godine (ako sam dobro zapamtila godinu), što se može videti po velikoj količini izvora od pre 2010. godine, najčešće pre 2000. Na momente sam imala utisak da se autorka zaboravljala, da je kretala suviše široko i kada bi shvatila šta radi, samo bi naglo prekidala priču i prelazila na sledeću tačku. Jedna od stvari koja mi je zaista smetala je vrlo očigledna nepažnja prilikom lektorisanja (ako ga je i bilo), jer ima dosta neispravljenih grešaka prilikom kucanja, a takođe se i vidi kada je neki deo teksta bio označavan drugom bojom (nakon naknadnog umetanja ili kopiranja? lektorisanja?) Takođe, u uvodu se govori o 11 poglavlja, dok primerak koji ja imam ima 8. Stvari poput ovih, uz skromnost poveza, zaista ne opravdavaju cenu ove knjige. Bar da je tvrdo koričenje, ali nije, i sve ovo daje neki utisak kao da je cela priča oko ovog izdavačkog projekta išla vrlo neorganizovano, preko volje i usiljeno. Ili sam možda to samo ja.

Sam sadržaj je bio u redu, i bio bi dobra smernica za one koji se upoznaju sa feminizmom. Možda ne baš prva stanica, ali recimo treća ili četvrta.
