In my dreams I have a plan
If I got me a wealthy man
I wouldn't have to work at all,
I'd fool around and have a ball

The Cab-Angel With A Shotgun (Lyrics Video) by Music Terminal
Hello, and welcome to the first of two songs that I discovered by pulling up the Leverage fan music video for Parachute on my phone and then letting YouTube do its thing while I cleaned my room. XD This one I'm pretty sure was on an Elliot-themed music video (I'm not sure which one, sorry!), and the minute I started listening to it, I was like "protective Alice vibes." XD Seriously, though I think it fits her very well -- she is not afraid to get her hands dirty to protect what and who she loves, and she doesn't care what others might think about that. "I'm an angel with a shotgun/fighting 'til the war's won/I don't care if Heaven won't take me back/I'll throw away my faith babe, just to keep you safe/don't you know you're everything I have?" -- yeah, exactly her attitude.
And, because of the video I started from and where my mind was at the time, naturally I associate this most strongly with my Valicer In The Dark version of Alice! Which I think makes sense, as she's explicitly the best fighter in the trio, being their Cutter and all. So yeah, the music video in my head features mainly that version of Alice battling baddies on behalf of Victor and Smiler. She doesn't care what it takes or how much she has to spill -- you do NOT get to touch what is hers, Duskwall!

Rip jeanette voerman you would've loved the lyrics to 'party like a millionaire',,,,, therese you sure as hell won't but sucks to suck I guess
Alice: Uh -- as far as I know, they're still alive and running The Asylum in Santa Monica. Hell, they're probably having arguments over the song as we speak.

Writer Interview Game!
Thanks @kalmiaphlox for tagging me!
When did you start writing?
I've written since I was a kid. Got heavily into fanfiction as a teenager ... and then promptly stopped when I entered college*. Didn't start up again until about 2020; there were stories I wanted to tell of my D&D characters that didn't come up during gameplay. (Having a pandemic to keep one at home helped as well). Picked up fanfic again in 2021 when, after beating Bloodborne, I found a little site called Archive of One's Own...
* I did co-write a play that was produced at my college; it was about Lewis Carroll's relationship with Alice Liddell, the girl for whom he wrote ALICE IN WONDERLAND I ended up playing Lewis Caroll in the production, which was a treat. Probably fed a secretly-held love of men's 19th century fashion.
Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?
I love shows like Babylon 5 or Deep Space 9, as well as a good documentary. I also like reading play scripts.
Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?
Someone once compared my writing to F. Scott Fitzgerald and I about exploded with joy. Other than that I love a good (translation) of Gabriel Garcia Marquez or the aforementioned Fitzgerald. Edgar Allen Poe in terms of sheer variety of word use, as well as horror inducing terror.
Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?
I have an office with my various fandom paraphernalia around me; but I do a lot of writing on the couch so I can be in the same room as my family. If I get to be alone I love writing outside, or barring that, my local library.
What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?
Listening to music. Even if the lyrics aren't exactly what I need, the tone or mood of a piece can be enough for me to start imagining.
Then again, some of my favorite fics have started from dreams I've had.
Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?
I write a lot about parenting, because I am a mom; perhaps it's a way to explore the ways parenting can go wrong (and how it can go right). I also seem to write, at least recently, about marriage. I have a lovely happy marriage, but I'm not sure people would know that by the demented marriages I often write about.
What is your reason for writing?
I have fun making up stories, but I find myself needing an outlet to explore some idea of humanity - often an aspect of some part of my life or past that I want to understand better. My stories are me showing my work about various themes in my own life. I don't want to provide solutions or definite answers, but rather, present a situation or feeling and go, 'what do you think?'
Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?
If I touched a single person with my prose or character situation or if I even made something beautiful from something horrific, then I consider it a win.
How do you want to be thought about by your readers?
An engaging writer that makes a reader think about their smut.
What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?
World building and, occasionally, dialogue.
How do you feel about your own writing?
I think I have a strong command of a scene - dialogue and scenes between two people are a strength of mine. I have a strong understanding of character motivations and how to present multi-layered characters to an audience, hopefully without judging them too much.
I'm proud of how far I've come in terms of descriptive text; sentence variety, invoking memories and all the senses is something I am experimenting with. (Not every sentence needs to be complex.)
That being said, I wish I knew more words. I'll read something and be reminded of words that I had forgotten, or, even better, learn new words. I want to fill my writing with texture, so that when you read it it tickles all parts of one 's imagination. (I like words.)
When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely for yourself, or a mix of both?
I have struggled a lot with writing what I like, because I know what I like is a specific niche; I try to find a way to write things people will like or comment on but also speaks to bigger themes. I can't write just smut, for instance - there has to be some sort of pathos or character change. In the end I do like most everything I write, because otherwise I wouldn't bear to see it on the screen/print.
tagging @wikipedianna, @karnaca78 , @slothquisitor, for writer fun.

The singer songwriter Scott Hutchison was born on November 20th 1981 in Edinburgh.
Some bios give that Scott was born in Edinburgh, some  Selkirk, in the Scottish Borders, I’ve been unable to confirm this, but the fact there is not a Hospital in Selkirk makes me think it was Edinburgh, he was brought in the Borders town.
Scott was the second of Marion and Ron Hutchison’s three sons, he was close to his brothers Neil and Grant, the latter of whom described himself as the “Tasmanian devil” to Scott’s “frightened rabbit”, the nickname his mother gave him due to his shyness. Scott moved the 80 or so miles to Glasgow to study illustration, but was more interested in music than art, he later used his skills to design artwork for Frightened Rabbit’s albums.
His first songs were influenced by the likes of Ryan Adams or other US artists, but when Grant joined him they produced a long tradition of jittery indie-guitar acts who couldn’t have been anything but Scottish.
Frightened Rabbit was born out of the duo, with Scott on vocals and guitar, Grant on drums they were joined by Billy Kennedy (guitar, bass), Andy Monaghan (guitar, keyboards) and Simon Liddell (guitar). From 2004 the band were based in Glasgow.
In an interview in 2014 Scott said that his heritage mattered to him – “I think anthemic-misery-indie is … Scotland’s greatest export,” he remarked in 2014, and he did his bit by singing in his own accent.
Frightened Rabbit’s first studio album was as a trio with Kennedy, Sing the Greys and had little success during his own lifetime, their second album, The Midnight Organ Fight, broke the US but  didn’t set the heather on fire at home. Hutchison’s mercilessly honest lyrics “Vital parts fall from his system and dissolve in Scottish rain,” were seen as some as pure poetry, such was the demand from the US that they toured there more than a dozen times. It must have been gruelling for Hutchison, who was afraid of flying.
Three more albums followed, with attendant promotional and touring obligations; Hutchison also put out under the name of Owl John, and participated, with members of the Editors and Minor Victories, in an “indie supergroup”, called Mastersystem, who released their sole albumin 2018.
“Chloroform the singer who has nothing to say, Stare in wonder as the masses sing along anyway,” Scott Hutchison sang on the Owl John track Songs About Roses….“We don’t need songs about roses, Please sing me something new.” And sing us something new he did.
Scott Hutchison was a troubled man and fought depression during his short life.
I find it difficult at times putting posts together, especially when I can relate to the state of mind Scott must have been in………
On the evening of May 8th 2018 Scott Hutchison posted on Twitter……..
“Be so good to everyone you love. It’s not a given. I’m so annoyed that it’s not. I didn’t live by that standard and it kills me. Please, hug your loved ones”,  he then tweeted “I’m away now. Thanks”
I still well up a bit reading the last of his tortured soul.
Scott was reported missing by Scottish police and the members of Frightened Rabbit on 9th May 2018, Scott’s last tweets are still there for everyone to read…..his account is @Owljohn
Later that day the Police discovered a body at 8:30 p.m. in the Firth of Forth off Port Edgar, South Queensferry, it was identified as the singer later and the band issued a statement.
There are no words to describe the overwhelming sadness and pain that comes with the death of our beloved Scott, but to know he is no longer suffering brings us some comfort. Reading messages of support and hope from those he has helped through his art has helped immensely and we encourage you all to continue doing this. He will be missed by all of us and his absence will always be felt but he leaves a legacy of hope, kindness and colour that will forever be remembered and shared.
— Frightened Rabbit,
In May 2019 the Hutchison family established Tiny Hands a mental health charity named after a lyric from the band’s song Head Rolls Off, in memory of Scott. In July 2019, Atlantic Records released Tiny Changes: A Celebration of Frightened Rabbit’s The Midnight Organ Fight, an album featuring musician friends and colleagues of the band covering their 2008 album in full. It was supposed to be released in summer 2018 to mark the tenth anniversary of The Midnight Organ Fight, and Scott Hutchison was fully involved in the process and had approved the tracks included. In the run-up to the covers album’s release, the remaining members of the band gave several interviews, stating that “the band does not exist” without Scott.
I’ve chosen  Frightened Rabbit’s  The Woodpile today, it’s a song I can relate to, Scott said of it:
"'The Woodpile' is about that night you felt utterly out of place, alone, awkward and cornered. All any of us want in those instances is for someone we care about to come and take us away from it all. It's escapist, but also claustrophobic in places. I like the idea of contrasting a big, confident piece of music with lyrics that express uncertainty and vulnerability."

“Antisocialist”
I had a dream once
All by myself with no one else
I thought I'd died and gone to heaven
Then I woke up
And everybody wanted something
Reaching out don't fucking touch me
So I take pills to induce sleep
But I always wake up
Please stay away from me
You keep on talking with nothing to say
I don't wanna hear about your life
You make me wanna eat a bullet, bullet
It's on my forehead
Four letters, off
And go forth and spread the word
I don't wanna know you
Please stay away from me
'Cause I don't fucking like you
I had a dream once
I didn't know it at the time
The world was perfect in that moment
Then I woke up
I was surrounded by these strangers
Standing close and staring in
So I drink liquor to escape it
But I always wake up
Please stay away from me
You keep on talking with nothing to say
I don't wanna hear about your life
You make me wanna eat a bullet, bullet
It's on my forehead
Four letters, off
And go forth and spread the word
I don't wanna know you
Please stay away from me
'Cause I don't fucking like you
From my heart
I hope you know this song is about you
