🪩 Do you have any "good" writing habits you want to cultivate?

i want to make more use of [x] to help jump past bits that are sticking in my brain! it is handy and i have been using it, but i can get bogged down and it is a good way to sidestep chunks of the writing that just aren't working

💥Is there a chapter, scene, or WIP you're most excited to write? Share a snippet or tell us about it!

i am very excited to write a fic of crystal, charles, and edwin working to bring niko back! i hinted at it in here to take you home, but i want to get into the process of crafting a clay body for her soul to inhabit, the grief of losing her mixed with the desperate hope to bring her back mixed with the fear this won't work! also for all my a81 besties we know the bonding potential in building a body together-

aro crystal manifesto...........i have currently made peace with the fact that i am writing all the little bits and bobs around the manifesto, all the oneshots exploring her brain and arc and how i imagine it, but i would like to actually write the aro crystal focused fic eventually alskdfj

ok so i know this is an art ask game but since i do comics and therefore art and writing are interconnected for me the immediate thing that comes to mind is that wolf 359 has definitely affected the tone of my prose and studio ghibli has influenced the kinds of characters/worlds i write. as far as art goes, i think both ghibli and loz subconciously impacted how i handle character design.

yep! music, fiction podcasts, dnd shows, and sometimes audiobooks. if the art requires my brain i usually just relisten to stuff i've heard before because if it's something new i'll constantly have to be rewinding

Summary:

Gideon Nav is the communications officer aboard the HMNZS Alecto, a station on a deep space survey mission. In the wake of Dr. Tridentarius’ attempted mutiny, Gideon has formed a tentative truce with her commanding officer, Lieutenant Commander Harrowhark Nonagesimus, but their station is falling apart and their mission objectives have never been less clear.

The reappearance of a woman claiming to be the former commanding officer of the HMNZS Alecto promises answers, but only if they can trust her. By all accounts, Captain Camilla Hect should be dead — and Gideon and Harrow quickly discover this is the least of their concerns.

Yes cheating scandals are always scandals but this one’s bigger in a different way (not for the public he’s not a mega start or anything) but from a repercussions standpoint oh boy, if you don’t know Ned is one of 4 founders of a company that has multiple employees, shows, tours, books, podcasts, tv shows including one on food network that’s scheduled to come out and he slept with an employee! Of course he got fired because don’t fuck the employees is a pretty big rule of most jobs and if she wanted (say she was engaged and wanted to try anything to pass the blame to win her Fiance back) she could of tried suing for workplace harassment, said she was paid or threatened, and I’m guessing she’ll get a nice payout so she can’t sue for unfair dismissal (my boss pressured me into sex then I got fired is a pretty good lawsuit). And although he has left the company are already people suspecting that the rest of the guys knew and hid it/ignored it which is Bad for a company based of personality. So in short not only did this guy give up his family’s primary income but risked the entire company and income of an entire company full of people so he could dick down an engaged women

oc tober day 24: community day 5. back at it again with 2 more @lichensings ocs, katarina and jerry. both long-lived immortals, they have become close friends over the years. katarina is from the 1400s in what is now poland, she is a formerly semi-successful musician and has a complicated relationship to faith and religion. jerry is originally from central america, and is now several thousands of years old, but is chill with it regardless, by which I mean depressed. he has seen a lot and accumulated a lot of magic over the years, and continually changes his appearance and identity every so often, but at the moment he cannot be bothered to do this. what will happen now that they've met millie and have to deal with the star bullshit again? who knows..

oc tober day 22: community day 3. these are @lichensings 's wonderful ocs millie and mel (short for melpomene). millie is a normal, nice, and kind butch woman who is so open minded she befriends various immortals during her investigating a murder plot, and is forced to deal with their problems. continuing the trend of inhuman entities manipulating random lesbians, melpomene is actually a solar flare spirit possessing a human woman, and manipulates her into helping with an extremely dangerous cult investigation. will she eventually come to regret this, and defect from her faction in the ancient war? or will she fucking die before her arc can be concluded? no one knows..
