Your Relocating Day Guide: Strategic Preparation For A Smooth Move With Movers
Just as a chess player very carefully prepares their next relocation to obtain an advantage on the board, you as well must thoughtfully get ready for your upcoming move to guarantee a smooth and effective shift to your brand-new home.
Planning is paramount; it's not merely concerning boxing up personal belongings and wishing for the most effective. Instead, it has to do with aligning with reliable specialist moving companies, adopting reliable packaging and unpacking approaches, and taking care of the myriad of information that come with an action.
Breaking down a daunting task right into smaller sized, manageable actions allows for a streamlined approach, making it less complicated to take on and dominate the challenge at hand.
As we explore further into the video game of relocating, you will uncover the techniques for an effective and uncomplicated relocation. So, let's prepare your possessions strategically, shall we?
Guaranteeing a Smooth Moving: Tips for Choose Trustworthy Moving Companies
When it comes to picking dependable specialist movers, it's crucial that you do your homework to ensure a smooth and convenient relocating experience. Begin your search by requesting recommendations from people you count on. It can be friends, household, or associates that have actually just recently moved.
After obtaining a checklist, it's time to dig much deeper. Consider on-line reviews and scores. Do not just concentrate on the positive ones, unfavorable testimonials can provide you with a heads-up on potential issues.
Next off, validate their legitimacy. Check if they're certified and insured, this protects your possessions throughout the relocation.
Last but not least, contrast quotes from various companies. More affordable isn't always better, so consider the solutions supplied. Choose a moving company that provides you a feeling of belonging and peace of mind.
Effective Packing And Unpacking Techniques
To make your step as smooth as possible, it's vital to carry out sensible packing and unboxing methods that not just enhance your time yet also secure your belongings. Additionally, selecting trustworthy moving experts can considerably decrease the tension that comes with packaging and unpacking.
Right here are three vital techniques to take into consideration:
Organize and Clear Out: Prior to beginning the packing process, take the time to organize your belongings. Do away with or hand out any unneeded things. This will certainly save you from loading points you do not need and streamline the unpacking procedure.
Assign Intelligent Identifiers: Affix labels that show the components and assigned space for every box, simplifying the unpacking process and lessening confusion.
Unpack Methodically: Don't hurry to unbox everything at once. Begin with essentials like kitchenware and bed linens, then progressively unbox the remainder.
With these approaches, you'll feel more in your home quicker after your step.

Hmm. I'm just now remembering how stressful moving is.
#it's expensive. it's fast-paced. it's a lot of planning#I'm moving across the damn country. i want to hire movers because it's terrifying to rent a uhaul#they should not let anyone rent those. you should need a specific license for a uhaul#anyway i want to hire movers to get that shit across the country for me BUT I'm afraid they're gonna be hella expensive#and I'm going to have no money at the time that i move#so if i can't hire a mover. I'm just gonna pack anything i can fit into the two cars that are going. and abandon the rest#which would suck because ive collected a lot of shit in my time here#so I'm kind of looking at my belongings like 'hmm do I really need that?'#and it would be nice to have a reset but also like. that's my stuff#and i have to get everything clean. because I'm going to work at a summer camp. and then two weeks later I'm moving#so before i go i need to get everything clean and ready to go to save myself some stress#but cleaning is hard. I'm trying to marie kondo my stuff. decide if i want to sell donate or trash#it's not easy. none of it is easy. i forgot how stressful moving is. and last time i moved i only moved 40 minutes away!!#now I'm moving 12 fucking hours!!!!!!!#i have my best friend and my gf to help but god. this is a lot#wish me luck

The DOT's challenge: Some Movers Who Lost Licenses Still Taking Customers
The DOT has said revoking licenses is one tactic it will use in a crackdown on moving companies announced earlier this year. But a Newsweek review shows it might not work.
— By Matt Clark | Monday 26 June 2023
At least 18 of the nation's companies with complaints lodged against them and whose licenses were revoked for various reasons in the second half of 2022 continued to advertise interstate moves in June, according to a Newsweek review. Some had licenses revoked for insurance lapses, not necessarily the complaint itself. TAPUI/Getty
Underscoring the challenges federal officials face in cracking down on moving companies, at least 18 of the nation's companies with complaints lodged against them and whose licenses were revoked for various reasons in the second half of 2022 continued to advertise interstate moves in June, according to a Newsweek review.
Several companies confirmed they had carried out such moves, though some said they had done them through affiliated companies. The Department of Transportation does not list whether licenses were revoked specifically because of the complaints, though some license revocations appear to be because of insurance lapses or safety violations.
DOT officials said revoking licenses is one tactic they would deploy in Operation Protect Your Move, a nationwide crackdown on the movers with the most consumer complaints announced earlier this year. But Newsweek's review underscores that even license revocation may be an ineffective tool to reverse the growing tide of moving company complaints with only limited legal authority. Agency officials have said they require additional authority from Congress.
The DOT's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration did not specifically say whether continuing to advertise interstate moves after a license is revoked violates departmental rules, saying it would look at each case individually. In a statement, it said the agency is assessing the more than 100 investigations launched during Operation Protect Your Move and its findings will be made public.
"Similar to the expectation that an individual will not operate a motor vehicle if their driver's license is revoked, companies are expected to cease related operations if their authority is revoked," the statement said. "If FMCSA is made aware that a broker or mover continues to operate even after its authority has been revoked by the agency, we may take additional administrative action. FMCSA has no criminal enforcement authority."
Operation Protect Your Move was announced after Connecticut Democrat Sen. Richard Blumenthal called for tougher action against moving company scams in a letter to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
Blumenthal's letter was spurred in part by a February Newsweek investigation into the mushrooming problem, including movers who hold customer possessions "hostage" until they are paid exorbitant fees. The letter acknowledged the limitations on the DOT's authority but said it could be more aggressive in referring cases for prosecution to the U.S. Justice Department. Blumenthal did not say whether he would introduce legislation to ramp up the agency's authority.

Under current law, officials at the DOT's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration have no authority to arrest or fine for moving company violations and have worked with the Justice Department to bring only 13 criminal cases and six civil cases against movers since January 1, 2017. The number of complaints against moving companies more than doubled between 2015 and 2022, from 3,030 to 7,647, including 3,644 alleging a "hostage" situation.
For this article, Newsweek examined 98 companies that were the subject both of a consumer complaint and had their license revoked for various reasons. Eighteen still advertised cross-country moves on their websites in June. Newsweek attempted to contact all the companies, but was only able to interview representatives with six of them.
Reached by phone in May, Kai, who said he was the manager when answering the phone of Pro Smart Movers of Alexandria, Virginia, and did not provide a last name, said the firm has done some interstate moves this year. The company's license was revoked in December 2022 and has been the subject of seven FMCSA complaints.
"It's become more slow than last year," Kai said of the firm's 2023 business.
Evelyn Antonsen knows what it's like to hire a mover that has seen its license revoked. The moving company she used was not among the 98 Newsweek examined, but had its license pulled earlier in 2019.
Fulfilling a lifelong wish to return to her birthplace of Puerto Rico from Washington, D.C., the 75-year-old retired school principal carefully packed only her most precious heirlooms into 31 boxes destined for her new, smaller home in Old San Juan.
The moving company she contacted had a good reputation among Puerto Ricans for years, she said, but it ultimately contracted her move to New Jersey-based Pryco Movers in July 2022, nearly three and a half years after its license was revoked. She is still waiting for the delivery nearly a year later.
Antonsen contacted authorities in Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, as well as at the FMCSA, which she said forwarded her complaint and others about the company to a New Jersey field office. Attempts to reach Pryco Movers were unsuccessful.
Not willing to wait around, Antonsen traveled to New Jersey in March after a Pryco employee confirmed her boxes were in a warehouse. She intended to have a different company move them out of storage. She called the local police department when she was refused access because, she was told, she needed to make an appointment with management to enter the warehouse. Later, she says, an officer who was permitted to enter found only a jumbled pile of boxes that could not be identified as hers.

Earlier this month, Antonsen said she was notified by the Polk County Sheriff's Office in Lakeland, Florida, which she had contacted because it was also investigating the company, that her case and those of other Pryco customers had been forwarded to the FBI's Tampa field office. A spokeswoman with the office said the FBI does not confirm or deny the existence of an investigation.
Among the heirlooms she has been unable to get back, Antonsen said, is a family recipe book she recently needed to cook her mother's pork shoulder recipe for Mother's Day. There are paintings and other gifts given to her by her family, along with numerous family photos.
"Those are my memories—my physical memories—things I can look at and say, 'this was my mom's or that was my grandson's,'" Antonsen said. "Those items are who I am. They represent me. They represent my family and my grandkids."
Antonsen's story is not unusual, given the thousands of moving company victims each year.
The FMCSA logged 55 complaints against Imperial Freight Lines, including 22 complaints of goods being held hostage, in 2022. The company's license allowed it to serve as a "broker"—meaning an intermediary between a customer and an often-small "carrier" with trucks that performs the move.
Its license was revoked in October 2022, but the Imperial Freight Lines website advertised across state-lines moves when visited in June. It warned that only licensed movers follow strict federal guidelines.
"Don't stress out though, because we here at Imperial Freight Lines have got you covered," the website says. "We can take your important belongings from the East Coast all the way to the West Coast."
Imperial Freight Lines representatives hung up when called for comment on this story. No response was received to emails sent to an address on the company's website. It is not clear whether the company was, in fact, still conducting interstate moves.
Bad brokers have been particularly problematic for customers and the FMCSA. None of the five brokers among the 18 companies still advertising cross-country moves could be reached for comment for this story.
Newsweek's February investigation showed how brokers offer low cost moves in exchange for large, up-front deposits before connecting consumers with carriers that often hold their goods hostage. When bad internet reviews and FMCSA complaints pile up, the firms, which are mostly based in Florida, "reincarnate" as a new company with a new name and president and begin again.
Reached by phone, some of the carrier representatives Newsweek interviewed said their moves were being completed by another company, not the unlicensed one featured on their websites. Federal regulations prohibit a company from conducting a move in the name of another mover.
After contacting Allstate Moving of Kent, Washington, a representative who responded said he was with another, licensed company and did not know how he received Newsweek's inquiry. A message left for the other company with the representative was not returned. Allstate Moving lost its license in July 2022 and 17 complaints have been made with the FMCSA about the company.
Amber Hallaman, co-owner of A&M Friendly Movers of Carolina Shores, North Carolina, confirmed her company does interstate moves, but through a separate company she and her co-owner have a partial ownership interest in. She said A&M operates out of several locations associated with different companies and one of them lost its license because of a lapse in insurance.
"So, unfortunately that happened at that location, but we closed the location," Hallaman said. "We no longer run out of that."
Hallaman said her customers' cross-country moves were now being done through another company that she did not name. No response was received after additional requests for comment. A&M Friendly Movers had been the subject of one FMCSA complaint.
Like A&M, many of the movers' licenses appear to have been revoked after their insurance coverage lapsed, according to FMCSA records. The records do not specify why a license was revoked, but do show that revocations often coincide with insurance lapses, which experts said is a common reason movers lose a license.
At some companies, officials said their revocations were because of motor carrier safety violations such as drivers not getting required rest or failing to have a doctor certification of their fitness to operate trucks. Though the FMCSA cannot fine for moving company violations, it can fine for safety violations.
Under current law, officials at the DOT's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration have no authority to arrest or fine for moving company violations and have worked with the Justice Department to bring only 13 criminal cases and six civil cases against movers since Jan. 1, 2017. They can fine for motor carrier safety violations such as those discovered in roadside inspections. Paul J. Richards/AFP/Getty
Manager Carlos Torres of Bay Area Express Moving in San Jose said the company stopped doing moves after it was fined $15,000 for drivers failing to log the time they spent driving. The company's license was revoked in November 2022 because of failing to pay the fine, he said.
"So, basically we're not doing business right now, because as you know the license has been revoked because we didn't pay a fine," Torres said.
Torres said the company continues to take customer calls to schedule future moves because he expects the fine to be paid in the coming weeks. The FMCSA received 12 complaints about Bay Area Express in 2021 and four in 2022. Eight of them alleged hostage situations.
Regal Moving Services of Sterling, Va., has been the subject of only two complaints since 2021, but company president Stanley Burke said it lost its license in November 2022 after two drivers failed to present current medical certifications.
"Really don't do much interstate nowadays," Burke said. "I just focus on local moves."
To conduct local moves within Virginia, companies must be licensed with the state. According to Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Spokeswoman Ava Adenauer, Regal Moving Services' license to conduct Virginia moves was revoked in January 2020 after its liability insurance was cancelled. Burke did not return additional calls for comment.
Clifford Agnant said he shuttered his company Mid America Movers of Pembroke, Florida, after competition from scam moving companies made it too difficult to operate. Agnant said the firm automatically lost its license when he stopped paying insurance premiums for the company, which had been the subject of six FMCSA complaints. He said the firm's website remains active because it was paid for in advance.
"If anybody wants to call, I just refer them to somebody that still has a license to do their move," Agnant said.
Teresa Murray, director of the consumer watchdog program at the national nonprofit advocacy organization Public Interest Research Group, said that aside from the importance of educating consumers, the biggest impediment to stopping moving scams is a lack of regulation, particularly of moving brokers. She said revoking licenses is unlikely to help.
"Anybody that's going to screw someone with a move, you know, they're not going to care that they're not licensed," Murray said. "It seems like regulators aren't doing enough."
Lawrence Hawthorne, who retired from the FMCSA in 2020 after more than 40 years as an investigator focused primarily on movers, said he believes the industry may now be taking advantage the FMCSA's inability to fine for moving company violations, which it lost in a 2019 arbitration decision.
Hawthorne said brokers were previously not allowed to issue estimates that many have used to lure customers into making large deposits on promises of low-cost moves. Reversing that and restoring the agency's ability to fine could alleviate many scams, Hawthorne said.
"It's just that in today's environment, especially with Congress, it's kind of hard for them to get things done," Hawthorne said, referring to political party divisions. "They need to take care of this situation so that they can go back to issuing fines."
Antsonsen, who hopes to one day get her belongings to Puerto Rico, said she is worried about how her boxes are being treated and whether any items have been damaged. She becomes overwhelmed with emotion as she explains what happened with her move.
She's not just fighting the movers, she said, "I'm fighting the system that's supposed to be helping the consumer."
Mover Red Flags
If you must hire a company to move your possessions, be sure it is licensed. For moves across state lines, check the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Protect Your Move website, www.protectyourmove.gov. For moves within a particular state, check with that state's government. The FMCSA warns consumers to watch for red flags, including when a company:
Does not perform an on-site or video inspection before providing a written estimate or says costs will be determined after loading.
Demands cash or a large upfront deposit.
Asks you to sign bills of lading or contract documents that have not been filled out with the details of your move.
Does not provide a copy of an FMCSA booklet and brochure explaining your rights for interstate moves.
Has a website with no local address or registration or insurance information.
Claims all goods are covered by its insurance.
Answers the phone with "movers" or "moving company" rather than the company's name.
Has offices or warehouses that are in poor condition or nonexistent.
Arrives with a rental truck on moving day rather than a company-owned or marked fleet truck.
Claims you are moving more belongings than estimated.

My abusive mother is trying to institutionalize me & put me in a conservatorship. Please help me fund my escape plan across a few states.
Long story short my mother called me this morning informing me to be ready that I will be institutionalized against my will (as she is a manipulative person and has made her friends believe her and agree with her on this stance). I rather die than be put into conservatorship or to be institutionalized. I have a place to stay a few states away, but I need to save enough to have the professional movers haul my belongings I CANNOT leave behind as I am disabled and cannot make the long trip myself. The professional move will cover gas, fees, boxes, insurance, and the move itself, but it will be around 2000 dollars. (The price is steep, but it keeps me from driving 2 - 3 days, paying for the gas myself, having things happen along the way to the rental, etc. The moving company will cover everything - U-Haul will still cost me around 1.2k plus + gas + whatever else comes up.)
I am going to try to save up enough around the time I planned on visiting my beloved anyway as we bought a plane ticket for July a month ago. I added some supplies to my wishlist for packing my stuff as I won't be getting any of the packing materials I need now like these until when the movers are on their way. I will be packing what I want to keep, selling what I can part with, and I can find boxes locally for free at least.
The goal price is higher if the move turns into an emergency move and the movers charge me even more for the up-front schedule, and if it's still around July then the excess will go towards the bills + fees of me registering for a new state license, rent, etc.
I would not be moving until things were in better condition, but with my mother threatening me I needed to make this move sooner. Again, I am so sorry to be asking for help again, but this is life or death for me I REFUSE to let this happen to me and I cannot bear to leave my belongings behind for her to put her greedy hands on.

Phillip Graves who's obsessed with you, part deux.
Graves is a man who has the utmost confidence in his gut, and what his gut is telling him right now is that it's time to take things to the next level, darlin'.
Now sure, you hadn't been official long, but from his standpoint, you were meant to be since the moment he laid eyes on you, gorgeous. He just had to get you to realize it.
And now here you are, curled up against his side, dozing off peacefully like the pretty angel you are. Right where you're meant to be. While you sleep, though, Graves is making plans. Big plans. Big plans that involve you.
In such a short time, you two have become inseparable. If you and Graves aren't busy with your lives, you're up under each other (in more ways than one, darlin' 😉). But that ain't enough for Graves. See, sweetheart, he's a greedy sumbitch and isn't ashamed to admit it. He wants you for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, a snack, and to drink, and he'll be damned if he lets something heaven-sent and as sweet as peach cobbler slip through his fingers.
And so, Graves's been makin' plans. Big plans. The kind that would make things really official with you. See, he knows where you work, and Graves also knows that it's a pain in the ass to commute all the way across town to get there. Luckily for you, your husb—shit, he almost revealed his hand—your boyfriend lives close by. Why not make things easier for the both of you and just move in, darlin'? Hell, you already love the place and there's more than enough room for you both so why not? Don't you worry, though, he's a charmer when he needs wants to be so it won't take much convincing.
Has Graves thanked the Lord recently for that boring sumbitch who, well, flaked on you, darlin'? He probably needs to. At least the kid had sense enough to let cooler heads prevail and bow out gracefully. You probably see him around town sometimes... or not, if the way he flinches and quickly hauls ass every time he sees you is any indication. Or is it him? Fuck if Graves knows.
But yeah, back to those plans. Time to make this shit forever, beautiful. You wouldn't want for anything; Phillip will make sure you're taken care of, even when he's away on business. Your life's still your own to live, darlin'. Graves is just gonna make it more comfortable for you. You won't have to worry that sweet ass of yours about anything. As soon as you say yes, the movers he's got on standby will pack everything up and bring it home. You heard that right: Home. Right here. Right where you belong, darlin'.
So yeah, Graves's got plans for you. Big, BIG plans. The kind of plans that'll make this shit last forever, baby. All you gotta do is say yes to your darling husb—fuck, there he goes again—boyfriend.
He'll... uh, he'll wait until everything's moved in before he mentions marriage. Graves is content to let the license and ring sit in his safe for a little bit longer, darlin'. Emphasis on LITTLE.

i've found myself in a bad situation. the tl;dr is i have to move, but i can't afford to. i'm a disabled student and just do not have the funds required to rent a truck, hire movers, and cover deposits. so, i'm offering various services on my kofi, but if you don't need those you can also donate there or via paypal. my cashapp and venmo are both erinshelley91 if you'd like to donate on those platforms (i couldn't figure out how to link to those)
if you can't afford to commission me or to donate, reblogging this post and sharing my twitter thread is a free way to help me out and is so appreciated!
more context and stuff under the cut, i just don't want to make a long post on ppl's dashboards
my landlord has been cheating on his husband, and their relationship is rocky. he also has a massive spending addiction according to his husband. his spending addiction is making him not want to perform the actual duties of a landlord, because investment costs are cutting into his shopping spree funds
ex, he is illegally not fixing a leak in the shower of the upstairs tenants, and claims the costs are more than their rent. he told them to "figure it out, or get the fuck out." (verbatim.) he also told me it would be cheaper for him to not have tenants at all bc his utility bills would be smaller. he then left it to ME to inform another tenant to leave (then gaslit me and denied it in front of his husband when his husband questioned it)
in his words, we have 90 days to leave. i am disabled and a full time student and have been living on my fafsa returns, and the last job i had made one of my disabilities worse to the point i've had intensive physical therapy (several hours several times a week) and am likely going to have to undergo surgery
i'm also mi/nd, so even on a good day i'm not very well equipped to handle things, and the recent stress has also caused my therapist to see me several times a week in lieu of institutionalization
all that said, i'm not in a good spot physically or mentally, hence the best i can do right now is offer some of my skills on kofi
i'm currently working with my state's vocational rehab to try and find a suitable job until i can get my degree, but even then i simply would not be able to afford the costs of a sudden move in the timeframe i've got to work with
UPDATE MARCH 25, 2024: i want to invest in a scooter to do gig work like doordash. this will let me work at my own pace, and earn towards the move myself, then i'll have some more independence to continue doing that after as well
they require 50cc or under, which means i could get a scooter for under $1,000. i'd also need to cover fees to renew my license (i let it lapse since i haven't had a vehicle), get a helmet, and get insurance (roughly $100 annually)
i also made some amazon wishlists for folks who would like to help but prefer to know exactly where their money's going. i have one for housewarming stuff here, and one for necessities here
update as of april 5: my cat peed on my bed, and since it's a memory foam mattress it soaked all the way through and ruined it
update as of april 7: she did it again. this time there's blood in it
update as of april 14: i still haven't been able to take her to the vet, but i've been trying to do at home remedies

The reality is not what they expected.

“Doll? Baby doll?" Bucky strolls into the living room in search of you. He releases a shuddery breath when his eyes land on you. The former winter soldier is always afraid something could happen to you. “Did you not hear me, Y/N?”
Watching your new neighbors from behind the curtains is something you enjoy doing. That’s why you don’t hear Bucky call your name. “Babe, what’s so interesting?”
He steps closer to look out the window. There is a mover team carrying furniture and boxes into the house across the street.
“We got new neighbors,” you explain. “I wanted to know if they could be trusted. I don’t know. What do you think, Babe?"
“I haven't talked to them yet. We can check their background when Steve is back from Sam’s place,” Bucky dips his head to look at you.
“You know that not every new neighbor is an assassin, right?” you sigh as Bucky gets his phone out to note the license plate and description of your new neighbors. “Bucky, I was just a nosy neighbor. Boring and normal. Stop acting like a creep.”
“Doll you are the one watching the new neighbors like a creep,” Bucky tuts. “Lemme do my job and protect you and Stevie. You never know if they are not working for Hydra.”
“Hydra?” you huff. “Let them come.”
Bucky couldn’t be prouder of you. When you tell him his training with you has paid off, he smiles.
“What are we watching today?”
You freeze as Steve steps into the room. He caught you red-handed and now, you try to find an excuse for watching your neighbors.
"Uh, we were checking the lawn. Bucky wanted to know if he had to mow it again," you lie. You don’t want to lie to Steve, but you agreed on living a simple and safe life after he decided to give the shield to Sam.
“Bucky, baby,” Steve sternly says. “Is that true?”
"We watched our new neighbors move in. It’s a pleasant neighborhood and we wanted to know who moved in across the street.”
“You spied on them,” Steve concludes. He walks to Bucky to peck his husband’s cheek. “Y/N, I’m disappointed in you. You just lied to me.”
“What? No…I just…” you whine when Steve cups Bucky’s face to kiss him fiercely. “That’s not fair! Bucky was the one taking notes. He accused them of being with Hydra.”
“Y/N. Bucky,” Steve stops you from fighting. “I already checked on our new neighbors.”
Your head snaps toward Steve as you ask, "You did? When? How? Why didn’t you tell us so?”
“Doll, we retired but this doesn’t mean our enemies got the message," Steve smirks when you step toward him to cup the back of his neck and kiss him. “Hmm…baby doll ate strawberries today.”
“We both did,” Bucky purrs. “I fed her strawberries while we prepared dinner tonight. You have missed so much, Stevie. Y/N finally peeled an onion without crying her eyes out.”
“You helped her, didn’t you?” he asks. “I know you better than you know yourself. You’d do anything for Y/N.”
“He only peeled it…and cut it and…” you giggle as Bucky covers your mouth with his flesh hand.
“Y/N just needed some help with the onions. I can’t watch her cry. Even if they are not real tears.”
“You’ve got a weak spot for our wife.”
You grin.
“She’ll do anything to help us, Stevie. Cutting the onions for her was nothing,” Bucky shrugs. “Now, back to our new neighbors. Anything we should know?”
“Hmm…” Steve looks out the window. “Fury checked on them for me.” You watch Steve get his phone out. He unlocks it to open the document Fury sent to him this morning.
“Our newly arrived neighbors are Louisa and Cherise Milton. Louisa is an elementary school teacher, Cherise is a bookkeeper. They have been married for five years and bought the house three months ago. No police record.”
“I don’t trust them,” Bucky turns back around to stare out of the window. “What if they are undercover?"
“She’s got a cute ass in those shorts,” you say. “A pretty little thing. Her wife is a lucky woman.”
“What?” Steve huffs. “Uh-aren’t we pretty enough? I thought you love my ass!”
“I love it,” Bucky looks at his husband up and down. “Yeah, I love it, baby.”
“It’s still America's ass,” you giggle. “Do you think they are trustworthy neighbors or people wanting to kill us in our sleep?”
“Great, now you made it,” Steve sighs deeply as Bucky switches to protective mode. He checks the windows and closes the curtains. “Buck, she was joking.”
Steve follows Bucky around the house. “Baby, they are harmless. Trust me.”
“Last time I trusted you the coffee maker almost killed Alpine,” Bucky stops in his tracks to point at the white cat following him and Steve. “I won’t let anyone hurt my two people or Alpine.”
“Bucky baby,” you run after Bucky. “I was joking. They won’t try to kill us. Let’s just forget about them and have dinner.”
“No! I will check the windows and doors first.”
“You remember that Edith is still running security at our house, right?” Steve sighs as his husband doesn't listen. “Baby, I swear they are harmless, and Fury made sure someone is keeping an eye on them.”
Bucky asks, "What?" and you jerk your head toward your husband. “Steve, what are you hiding from us?”
“You’re not the only ones wanting to make sure we can enjoy retirement and live a normal life. The background check didn't satisfy Fury."
“Now you got me really worried," you huff. “Bucky let’s check the house together. Stevie, follow us. We got to stay together not like people in a horror movie always walking around a creepy house alone…”
“Y/N…Bucky,” Steve groans. “I was joking… Babes? Hey…”
Steve needed almost an hour to convince you and Bucky that your new neighbors are no threat. He regretted his joke and apologized repeatedly during dinner.
Now you are cuddling on the sofa like most nights. You are resting your back against Steve’s chest while Bucky places his head in your lap.
“Do you think they are planning to mow their lawn soon? It looks awful," you ask.
Steve and Bucky start laughing at your question.
You decide to keep a close eye on your new neighbors. No matter what Fury and Steve say...

¸ ੯•́໒꒱ ִֶָ 𖥔 ࣪ NEW DORM
˚ ༘ ೀsynopsis⋆。˚. Hybe got txt their new dorm where each member gets their own rooms, except Joohyung expresses how she wants to live on her own.
“Oh you want to live on your own?” Their staff asked Joohyung, as they were in a meeting explaining the moving situation. “Yeah, I even have a place in mind. Plus I talked to the members about this a while ago.” Joohyung just wanted to experience living without any men around her, and yes she loves her members and all but…having a bike in the kitchen, opening the fridge with the bottom drawer full with tangerines and just drinks no food, wanting to have alone time with her boyfriend without having the protocol team member literally on the bed next to them, was enough for Joohyung to want to live on her own.
So it was decided that the members will moved into their new bigger dorm before October while Joohyung also moves into her new apartment. Luckily Joohyung also got her driver license and new car which makes it easier for her to move the boxes over to her new place which the boys help her pack everything and move everything into the new place. “Noona got a new car and new apartment wow~” Kai was a bit envious, but mostly proud of his noona getting all her big life accomplishments. “Thank you, thank you.” She bowed making the group laugh at her cuteness. “But serious noona you have the coolest car. Maybe you should let me drive it.” Yeonjun admired Joohyung’s custom Porsche which was from her collaboration with the actual car company. But that’s another story for another time. “Mm-get more practice and maybe I’ll let you.” Joohyung didn’t fully trust Yeonjun’s driving skills. “I guess you’re right.” Yeonjun sighed in defeat, as the two walk to get more boxes.
Back in the old dorm Joohyung spots Taehyun just starring into her old room from the door frame.“I think I might cry.” Taehyun looked into Joohyung’s empty room. “Aw hyunie~” Joohyung back hugged him while resting her head on his shoulder. “You can always sleep over at my place I have plenty of room.” Leaving her two babies was probably the hardest thing. Of course not living with the members after years of being with each other and not being 24/7 with each other is going to a bit hard. But it was going to happen someday.
It’s the members first time seeing Joohyung’s apartment since she wanted to surprise them. Thankfully Joohyung hired a small group of movers prior from the actual move out date so they can move all the big items over. All the smaller boxes went inside her trunk and everyone piled in. “Hey how come Yeonjun gets to sit passenger?” Beomgyu whined from the back. “Because I’m the second oldest and plus I got here first. Not my fault you had to go use the restroom.” Yeonjun mumbled the last part, so Beomgyu couldn’t hear him. “But I’m her boyfriend.” Beomgyu pouted with his arms crossed. “Let’s not fight boys.” Joohyung used her mother voice making the members who weren’t fighting laugh. “I’ll let you sit passenger when we’re driving back, deal?” Yeonjun looked at Beomgyu in the middle mirror with his hand out ready for him to shake on the deal. “Ok.” Beomgyu perked up and shook Yeonjun’s hand.
Yeonjun controlled the music and throughout the whole ride everyone was singing or yelling the lyrics. Before actually getting to Joohyung’s place Yeonjun made Joohyung stop at a convenience store to get snacks. “At this point I’m your fucking Uber.” Joohyung joked while getting out of the car. “I love you noona~” Yeonjun laughed, as he made her way to hug her while they walk to the entrance. “Everyone get whatever you want it’s on me.” Taehyun gave the ‘ok’. “Oh, say less.” Kai immediately went for the candy.
They all went separate ways trying to get all their favorites and even some alcohol to celebrate. Once everyone was done and went to the cashier Taehyun saw all the things they got, “maybe I gave you guys a little too much power.” All the snacks were taking up the space on the counter with some even falling over. The poor cashier gave out six bags full of snacks and drinks to each member before wishing them a ‘good day’. Everyone piled back in the car and continue their little journey.
Just with the sight of the apartment complex shock the members. “Are you sure this isn’t a penthouse noona?” Soobin was in awe. “If I have to be completely honest I didn’t hear I just fell in love with the place.” She scratched behind her neck trying remembered what the lady said when showing her the place. It took about 40 minutes to get everything in the apartment with go up and down the elevator. “Let me finally show you guys!” Joohyung actually have been decorating the whole apartment for a couple of weeks now. “First this is the kitchen it has enough space for all of guys and look—no bike.” She teased the members. “Then the living room~” the boys smiled at how excited and cute she was being showing them every little detail. “It really suits you.” Yeonjun chuckled at all the Kuromi decor. “And people think you’re scary.” Beomgyu looked at all the light colors that filled the living room and look back at Joohyung’s dark outfit.
Next they walked down the hallway which had more gold frames that had group magazine covers along with her solo magazine covers. “Wow noona really loves us.” Kai laughed. “I do.” Joohyung smiled back at him. “And here’s my room.” The boys gasped at the huge window that overlooked everything along with her king size bed. “I thought the living room view was cool, but this—“ they all went on her bed looking out like little puppies which made Joohyung laugh. “You could see the Han River and everything.” Taehyun’s eyes were wide making him look a cat that’s watching the birds. “Let’s see if we can see hybe from here.” Kai said, already looking for the building. It wasn’t long before they continued with the apartment tour.
“Your theme is all elegant it suits you Jooie.” Yeonjun looked all around the gold details and hints of pastel pink in the room. “Thank you.” Joohyung was happy that the members like it since she worked really hard in getting everything and setting up everything.
The group moved on to two other guest rooms that are going to be for the boys whenever they want to sleep over. Once the apartment tour was over everyone started getting the snacks and drinks ready for the night. As Beomgyu was setting up the snack plate he heard little feet coming near him, “oh look who decided to show up.” Bibi Joohyung’s cat meowed at Beomgyu. “Since when did you feel like not fighting me?” Beomgyu questioned the suspicious cat. Beomgyu spoke too soon because Bibi angrily meowed clawed at Beomgyu’s leg. “Argh! Bibi I was kidding!”
“You’re in her place now.” Taehyun nodded his head at Beomgyu. “Whatever I like Poki more.” Beomgyu huffed. Poki is Joohyung’s second cat who was a lot nicer than Bibi. “Don’t speak badly towards my baby ok!” Joohyung yelled from the kitchen. “Sorry~” Beomgyu chuckled, as he placed the snack platter on the coffee table. Slowly but surely everyone made their way into the living room which had way more pillows and blankets for everyone, since they were going to start their night with a movie. More specifically watching the ‘Trolls Band Together’ before starting their endless gaming matches. Joohyung and Kai brought out the take out food the two ordered, Yeonjun and Soobin got the drinks ready, as for Taehyun and Beomgyu they were already eating the snack platter along with getting comfy. “Ya! Stop eating!” Yeonjun scolded the two younger members. The rest got comfortable and started the movie.
Throughout the movie the group slowly got tipsy with the amount of alcohol and sooner than later they were fully gone. Instead of playing games like they planed, they set up karaoke and started singing/yelling the trolls soundtrack. The loser with the lowest score each round had to take a shot, so you know how that ended. No one even made it to a bedroom they all ended up sleeping either on the big couch or on the floor with their pillow and blanket. Thankfully, there was no schedule today which means they got to wake up around 12pm or the latest 1:30pm.
Once everyone was up they immediately checked their phones that were filled with videos and pictures of all their drunken acts. They definitely want to show moas one day of their fun nights at Joohyung’s apartment.

Jack/Joseph headcanons
-Jack thinks he has the best and most effective pouting face ever known to humanity and can work on anybody
-In reality MC just let's him get whatever he wants because he actually looks constipated when he's pouting and MC find it funny
-Jack can be very resourceful, he learned it from living on the streets in the past
-As Joseph his favorite class was drama class, which is way he was so quick to audition for Sunny Day Jack
-Another reason why Jack is so muscular is because to he used to take on heavy lifting jobs like movers or warehouse workers
-Jack likes to let MC eat first and eat what's left because he understands how expensive food can be and being homeless in his youth, he can't bare to see wasted food
-Joseph was the type of student to go to class just to sleep or to be the class clown depending on his mood, there is no inbetween
-Joseph picked up smoking since it was so easy to steal it from his father and to look cool, but decided to adopt the habit of smoking because of how addicting smoking can be
-If Joseph was born in the 2000s or in the late 90s, as he got older he would probably start a YouTube channel
-Reason why he started a Youtube channel is just for fun, and hey, if somehow he did become successful he would have money and attention so he thought "why not?"
-Though he knows how to drive, Joseph doesn't have a drivers license
-He didn't have the money to pay for a driver's test and by the time he turned the legal age the drive he couldn't risk showing his ID to even start the test, in fear of being recognized
-The only reason he knows how to drive is because he observed how the people who decided to give him a lift opperated the car
-Joseph sometimes wonder where he would be now, if he actually worked hard at school, graduated, and got excepted into university or collage
-Joseph has nimble fingers from pick pocketing a lot
-Jack also has nimble fingers but he uses it for a different purpose...
