Queer Book Recommendations
It's pride season in Wellington, New Zealand and my local library has published its second "Teen Staff Picks" zine! In that spirit, I bring you, a collection of lesser-known queer books featured in the two that have been released so far! I've narrowed the lists down to books that have 1000 or fewer reviews on Goodreads as of posting (though I actually use Storygraph personally). I haven't read most of these, they're new to me as well but looking forward to getting into them.

I'm a firm believer that Buying books and Reading books are two different hobbies. Found some neglected lovelies on the shelf. I think it's time I crack open a few. 馃摉 馃挐

If I had a nickel for every time a tv show that Aaron Ehasz was heavily involved in featured an episode with a life & death escape from a giant library, I鈥檇 have two nickels; which isn鈥檛 a lot, but it鈥檚 weird that it happened twice....

Library in my college are doing a Christmas blind date with a book. Was originally going to get something out but I think I know what this is so I'm going to unwrap it later (I think it's Good Omens)

So, someone tweeted something complimentary about this guy鈥檚 book and this was his genius response. In the age where libraries are struggling to stay open, this douchebag decided to be the anti-Neil Gaiman.

Long story short.
Growing up I didn't have access to libraries, if I wanted a book I had to buy it, what I could rarely do, or borrow it from someone I knew.
It wasn't until I got to college that I finally had access to a library and... I still didn't start using it until my third year, which now I regret having missed for so long. Since then the library and I have been one and it's really the best, they may not have a great variety or the most recent books, but they have seriously saved me when I've needed it the most.
So with this little long story I mean to say, yes, use and appreciate your nearest and dearest libraries, as clich茅 as it may sound, knowledge is power and having access to books and information it's very cool and important.
Destroy the myth that libraries are no longer relevant. If you use your library, please reblog.

talking about librarians: please let's support the librarians of our towns and neighborhoods, they fight to keep information and reading accessible and free. Unfortunately, they receive very little and are constantly overworked and undervalued. I had access to extremely expensive academic books (which are rare to even find on the internet) completely free in local libraries, as well as help because I'm autistic and the librarian helped me find really cool films (i watched it for free too!). I study at university and my studies are cheaper thanks to librarians.
hey thanks for this!!! I am very lucky that I've gotten to work with a school librarian as a TA when I was in high school and she was just amazing I loved her so much. Please please please check out your local library and sign up at least to use their libby and hoopla resources (they're apps that just require a library card to get ebooks and audiobooks to use. So like think of kindle and audiophile but free)!

Libraries are so freaking cool. Yesterday the library where I work had a concert of dueling pianos. And it was free!
Next week I锟斤拷锟絤 going to a local school鈥檚 STEM fair to show off some of our cool tech for kids.
But we also have cool tech for adults: a laser cutter, a 3D printer, a die-cut machine, sewing machines, even an EMP reader for those folks who want to go ghost hunting.
In short: libraries are cool & you should be using yours.

It's alive! The ebook of Stolen Treasure is wide and live, available across various platforms for your distraction and delight.
Paperbacks will be coming next week on the 'Zon and wide soon after that, and I really, really hope you enjoy this disasterpiece of a romantic thriller.

Reblogging to add that Overdrive is an insanely good app, I've used it for a long time back when I was still reading a lot of books.
Basically, if your library purchased E-book copies of books (which they tend to do these days) you can rent and read those copies through Overdrive! Plus other forms of content like audiobooks obviously. So go check if your library of choice is connected to Overdrive and if not, check if you can become a member of a library who does!

My library has a bunch of things this summer with activities geared towards adults/all ages. One of which was a sketchbook challenge, you're suppose to post to fb, tw or insta or something. I've got tumblr. I've done every day, but I'm just going to post my favs. It's been fun. GO TO YOUR LIBRARY, THEY TOO MAY BE DOING COOL THINGS.
