Note: I am updating this^^ OG post from 2021 with updated information about our upcoming eclipse cycle (September-October 2025).

We are fast approaching eclipse season and I am already beginning to see the warnings show up across the witch universe. I assume that people who warn others against doing magic during the lunar and solar eclipses mean well but as a longtime astrologer AND witch, I would like to kindly disagree. Eclipse energy can seem unpredictable but also follows some very specific rules (like all lunar energy). If you know and understand these rules, you can get back to doing your normal lunar magic in no time.

To understand how to work with the lunar energy of eclipses, you simply have to combine a basic knowledge of all lunar magic cycles and some basic astrology about the lunar nodes. Don’t worry – I’ll walk you through it.

To start with, lunar energy is quite simple and well understood in the witchcraft community. The old saying “Wax on/Wane off” can be applied to her. When the moon is waxing (from the point of the new moon through the hours before the full moon), it is well aligned to cast spells where you are bringing something towards you and when the moon is waning (from the point of the full moon to the house before the new moon), it is best to cast magic where you are pushing or removing something away from you. This can be simplified as we make wishes or set intentions for growth and forward motion with the new moon and remove and banish with the full moon.

Now we add in our astrology. All eclipses are just supercharged new or full moons where the lunar event falls into alignment with the lunar nodes. The lunar nodes aren’t objects in the sky, they are imaginary points – actual representations of the places in the sky where the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth could fall into a line with one another. This line is oppositional, in the sense that it has a North Node and a South Node which are always found within opposite signs in the natal horoscope chart.

Eclipses always come in pairs*. A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth passes in between the Sun and the Moon and a solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun. This always happens on the full moon and new moon, respectively. Because this happens near the lunar nodes, these cosmic events always include a conjunction between the Moon and either the North Node or the South Node.

This is where the complexity of eclipse magic comes into play.

Again – let’s simplify. The north and south nodes are a set of points that travels around the horoscope wheel. Energetically, they represent the tension point between where we’ve been (the South node) and where we are going (the North Node). In order to understand the energies of an upcoming eclipse, you must combine the energy of the lunar event (wax on for new moon/wax off for full moon) with the energies of whichever of the two nodes the moon will be conjunct at that time.

There are three possible options: new/new, old/old, and new/old.

I want to use the two upcoming eclipses to illustrate my point. On Tuesday, 9/17, we will experience a lunar eclipse (an eclipsed full moon) at 25° Pisces. Right now, our North Node is sitting at 06° Aries, and our South Node at 06° Libra; from this we can see that our lunar eclipse will be (widely) conjunct to the North Node. Therefore, we combine the energy of the full moon (old/waning) with the energy of the North Node (new/where we are going).

Likewise, our solar eclipse (eclipsed new moon) will occur at 10° Libra on Wednesday, 10/2. So we combine a new moon's waxing/new energy with the waning/where we’ve been energy of the South Node.

In both cases, these two lunar events will have both the energy of release and the energy of new beginnings at the same time. This is, I believe, the signature that has led many a witch to call eclipse energy “unpredictable” because if you are not accounting for both the push energy of the new and the pull energy of the old, you could easily get caught in a weird magic sandwich somewhere in the middle. We’re not those people though – we are empowered, well-informed witches!

The best way to harness eclipse energy, then, is to make sure that you have accounted both for the lunar energy and the nodal energy within your spell. See also: banishing an old love to make space for the new, or doing a ritual to remove something that is holding you back from pursuing your current goals. Just makes sure that you are working on both the bringing in and the letting go. You could include double action candles to represent both the push and the pull or have a part of the ritual dedicated to each aspect. That part is all you.

In this way, I believe that eclipses may be the best days of the year to perform big magic workings because, it seems to me, that all great endeavors involve both sides of the energetic coin in some fashion or another.

Sidereal Aries Moon: Your mother may have been unable to protect herself growing up. Learning to temper between where your mother didn’t speak out at all vs knowing when to call something out is a skill to master.

Sidereal Taurus Moon have come from a mother that didn’t stick to what was right for her. There is a way of having standards that doesn’t sacrifice the overall, longterm goal. But settling for next best means knowing that that is not a final destination.

A Sidereal Gemini/Virgo Moon child is just a symptom of an emotionally repressed mother who discarded her feelings in exchange for survival through intelligence.

For the Gemini Moon: There needs to be a line drawn in the sand. A boundary so you are able to establish what is right for you, but you are curious to find the answers to what you want happening in your life.

For the Virgo Moon: Loosen up! Taking everything seriously will cause you to lose out on the most important answers found in simplicity.

The Sidereal Cancer Moon: Your mom probably wasn’t ready to be a mother. She probably lacked the nurturance needed to make sure your needs were met. You don’t have to be caring to people who aren’t doing nothing for you.

Sidereal Leo Moon: You may have a mother who wasn’t confident in herself. Her want to appease others may led to the protection of you being more independent and self sufficient. You’ll have to learn that even tho you stand alone, a lot of people benefit from what you do and show appreciation through how you inspire them.

Sidereal Libra Moon and the want to maintain peace because the mother had no control over her problems. Sometimes you’ll have to learn that you’re not going to be agreeable and digestible to everyone.

Sidereal Scorpio Moon: The mother may have made movements that caused her to lose out on a lot. She told everyone her business. You may have to learn how to trust in this lifetime, and know who to trust.

Sidereal Sagittarius/Pisces Moon children may have grown up with a mom that had the brains, but not necessarily the experience necessary to move things forward like she wanted to.

For Sag Moon: Make sure you’re digesting everything before you make a move. Not everything is going to be worth the time you spent on it.

For Pisces Moon: You will sometimes have to ask yourself “why am I doing this” and use those actions towards digging yourself out of a hole and getting back on track.

The Sidereal Capricorn Moon child may have grown up with a mom who wish she had more boundaries in her life. You’re going to have to learn how to not always close yourself off to certain things. That’s not always how you’re going to learn.

The Sidereal Aquarius Moon child may have been from your mama feeling a bit basic and bored and wish she was different and challenged the ways of life. Learn that it’s a contraction to be different and get upset when people are different from you, no matter how basic they are.

Hey yall! I decided to start doing important transits announcements. As you know and probably been feeling is the upcoming lunar Eclipse. Now mind we still feeling the effects from the Solar eclipse in Libra

What is in an eclipse?

-It’s when the celestial bodies, the Sun and Moon light is blocked for a short period of time.

How long do they last?

- the actual eclipse don’t last long but the energy of the eclipse last for 6 about months.

What do they mean spiritually and astrologically?

-Many astrologers and spiritualist alike believe eclipse are signatures of life changing events. Whether it’s the ending of a cycle or the beginning of a new one.

This is the last Taurus eclipse cycle that we’ll have for a while. This Taurus eclipse cycle started back November 2021 so check back on the events in your life during that time.

-for me, this is when I started my Tumblr blog, so it’s full circle that I’m making this post lol. Taurus rules my 11h of social media!

-Taurus is the 2nd sign of the zodiac. It rules over our values, self worth, finances, our physical home, our voice.

-Lunar (Moon) is our emotions, mom, immediate family, the karmic cycles in our life. Whenever the moon changes phases so do we!

This eclipse is ruled by Venus which is in its fall of Virgo. Venus isn’t comfortable in Virgo so this transit will be intense

Taurus eclipse is also opposing the Sun, Mercury and Mars which heightens the restless feelings.

So what do you need to do?

Rest, drink lots of water, listen to feel good music. Watch your words and thoughts. Journal or do voice notes if you need to get the words out of your head. Emotions will be strong so try to only watch feel good movies and shows. Release what no longer serve you.

Affirmations I personally use, now you can create your own but for beginners who need an example on where to start.

After saying or writing these, just start living your life normally and let God/Universe/Source, whoever you believe do the rest.

Eclipse energy is tiring plus we’re still feeling the last one. So try to get as much rest as you possibly can.

November 2023 Important Dates

AKA my notes on The Astrology Podcast's November Forecast, hosted by Chris Brennan and Austin Coppock. Recap of last month is extensive and has been moved to the end of the post.

We're going into this month right off the back of a lunar eclipse, which astrologically sets the tone for November.

October 28th Lunar eclipse:

The Moon at 05Taurus opposes Jupiter at 05Scorpio, while Mercury (10♏) is conjunct Mars (11♏), opposing Jupiter (11♉). This is the last of a series of eclipses on the Taurus/Scorpio axis over the past 2 years. Thus this signals the culmination of a series of events and end of a chapter in people's lives. Austin describes it as an epilogue--one last thing that modifies what came after it--as the nodes have already moved on to Aries/Libra. Chris brings up how Taurus lunar eclipses have coincided with high-profile cryptocurrency crashes (Lunacoin in 2021, FTX last year), and Austin points out the FTX CEO's upcoming trial and sentencing. Taurus signifies both currency and food; the spike in cost of basic necessities worldwide is part of this story. Eclipses are the end of one era and the beginning of another: "the king is dead, long live the new king!" This has played out literally with UK monarchs in the 20th century. The Scorpio-Taurus eclipses have also occurred with increased labor actions. We'd like to think Jupiter's presence on this eclipse is an ameliorating factor, but the December 2019 eclipse "ruined" Jupiter's chances of helping us (Austin's words), so don't count on it.

Mars opposite Jupiter is tension between war and peace, both in our personal lives and world events generally. Even when these planets work together, Jupiter enables Mars's combativeness. Formicus writes in that in martial pursuits, Mars aspecting Jupiter indicates full legal and social support for aggression.

November 4th - Saturn stations Direct in Pisces This will intensify Saturn's significations in Pisces. Saturn entered Pisces earlier this year with nautical disasters, and with Mars in a water sign as well Austin advises us to keep our eyes on the seas. Saturn in Pisces also connotes poisons in the water and sources of water drying up. If there is water, it's not of the right type or amount for sustaining life. In nativities, this station signals the final Saturn return for those born under Saturn in late degrees of Aquarius (Chris suggests an orb of 3°).

Just before Saturn stations, Venus opposes Neptune on the 3rd; soon after Mercury opposes Uranus, with Venus trining Pluto on the 6th. Venus may want to bring us peace, but Neptune's tendency to dissolve boundaries bodes ill for human beings. Mercury-Uranus keywords include disrupted communication and jarring messages. This all happens after Jupiter in Taurus opposes the Sun in Scorpio on the 2nd, shining a light on a lack of basic necessities.

November 8th - Venus enters Libra The Moon enters Libra soon after Venus, activating the ingress and bringing us a good day in the bad week. Domicile Venus will have the strength to help balance us. After Mars's trampled through the Scales, she can help us balance and cool off, especially with the South Node copresent. She sextiles Mercury around the 15th as well, easing communication and bringing harmony to previously polarized talks.

November 10th - Mercury enters Sagittarius Though he initially confronts Saturn, Mercury approaches a sextile to Venus, definitively ending his copresence with Mars. Though Mercury is in detriment, he's optimistic, especially in the first decan of Sagittarius, which he rules. Mercury runs into a barrier wall with Saturn, his optimism immediately quashed, but after changing direction is able to bring some small victories. While the greater structure must be endured, we can do a few things to make the situation better.

November 11th - Mars opposite Uranus The Sun opposes Uranus around the same time, with the Moon following soon after.

November 13th - New Moon in Scorpio

Usually we expect relief with the first New Moon after an eclipse, but with a Sun-Moon-Mars conjunction opposite Uranus, things are gonna be intense. Mars-Uranus is an especially explosive contact, and an opposition is the most tense aspect. Calls for freedom are intense and combative. However, once the faster planets pass this Uranus opposition, we'll have seen the last unexpected stick of dynamite. The upcoming Mars-Sun conjunction is far from calm, but it is expected.

November 18th - Sun conjunct Mars in Scorpio (cazimi) This happens opposite Uranus, trine Neptune, and sextile Pluto. As with other planets, this is a renewal of Mars's 2-year cycle, resetting the paradigm for Mars matters. Mars has his domicile in Scorpio, bringing intense tenacity, even if we may not want it. Distressingly, Chris has found this aspect to historically coincide with shootings and bombings. Austin has identified engineering developments, water-based natural disasters, and setting a new direction/paradigm in ongoing conflicts (though not new wars starting).

Mars cazimis in Scorpio don't happen that often; this is the first one in 32 years (the preceding was 32 years before the most recent, and the next one out was ~60 years before its successor). Hot-headedness, special forces (especially in Scorpio), and ambition or daring are some keywords. To quote a song by Sun-Mars conjunction native Nelly, "it's getting hot in here, so"...put on your blast-proof gear. Other Sun-Mars natives include Jonas Salk, inventor of the polio vaccine, politician Robert F. Kennedy, and controversial investigative journalist Nancy Grace. This is a very powerful reset with Mars in domicile, and in a fixed sign. It has the most staying power and determination.

November 22nd/23rd - Sun enters Sagittarius

November 23rd/24th - Mars enters Sagittarius Soon after he squares Saturn. He's also under the beams of the Sun (invisible) from the cazimi well into December, and takes longer than any other planet to emerge from beneath the rays. Thus the meanings of Mars's journey through the underworld won't be apparent all at once.

November 25th - Mars square Saturn Something that normally happens quickly hits a wall and has to slow down suddenly--this aspect aligned with COVID lockdowns and the discoveries of new variants. The theme of this month: there will be some initial attempts to speed ahead, but we'll run into insurmountable obstacles we have to accept. Mars square Saturn is still fully operative when we encounter our next lunation of the month.

November 27th - Full Moon in Gemini

Still close to the Sun, Mars (02♐) opposes the Moon (04♊), forming a T-square with Saturn (00♓). Additionally, the Moon's ruler Mercury (24♐) squares Neptune (24♓) exactly, bringing muddled communication or even outright deception. Thus Mercury, the Moon's ruler, is not much help to her. Neptune doesn't bring hostility and bad news to Mercury like Mars did, but makes it difficult to see clearly. Think of a goldfish's (purportedly) short memory. Full Moon in Gemini wants to go fast, but Mercury-Neptune confuses the direction. Overall this is a rather difficult lunation.

November 30th - Auspicious election for the month (not pictured)

Around 1-2AM local time, with the Ascendant around 6° of Libra, giving you Venus in the first house in a night chart (a very potent place for her). Note that the South Node is conjunct Venus (though Spica nearby affirms our aspirations). The Moon is domicile in Cancer in the 10th house, separating from a sextile to Jupiter (07♉) and applying to a square with Venus (24♎). This gives us two very strong rulers in the first and tenth houses, good for aesthetic situations and public image. With Saturn in the 6th house, it's not recommended for matters involving people you employ or matters of illness. This election takes advantage of our domicile benefic Venus, and is at the end of the month to give as much distance as we can from the difficult Mars & outer planet configurations.

October Recap: There were 4 major earthquakes in Afghanistan, 2 of which coincided with the Mars-Pluto square on Oct. 7th, and the next two on the 11th and 15th clustered around the solar eclipse in Libra; the WHO estimates 100,000 people need humanitarian aid.

In the US, a shop that offered Tarot readings in Pennsylvania was threatened by police, citing anti-fortune-telling laws. There are quite a few similar laws still on the books across the country that are rarely enforced...until they are. 20 years ago, metaphysical bookshops were being raided by police, with their lawyers citing freedom of speech and religion to exonerate them. As Saturn approaches Neptune in Pisces and Neptune prepares to exit the sign, we can expect a backlash against astrology. No rising tide lasts forever; what's it going to look like when this tide breaks? Austin advises viewers to be careful how they represent the craft and not to take for granted that we can talk openly about it right now. Chris urges astrology organizations to prepare for litigation and pushback from skeptics and religious crowds alike.

The Pluto, Mars, and South Node activity last month heralded difficulty or conflict, which we've seen most prominently with the warfare in Palestine and Israel. Eclipses feature heavily in this history. The timing of recent major events has aligned strongly with the Mars & Pluto movements: Mars squared Pluto exactly on the 7th-9th, Pluto stationed on the 10th, Mars entered Scorpio on the 12th, and there was a solar eclipse in Libra on the 14th. (A/N: After this episode was recorded, the second (lunar) eclipse occurred today, October 28th, with the blackout and ground invasion in Gaza). Our hosts had stayed metaphorical last month in predicting asymmetric conflicts or excessive strength with Mars-Pluto last month, and in Indian astrology Mars-Ketu (SN) conjunctions indicate one who acts as if possessed by rage, which is how even supporters have characterized Netanyahu's actions.

Going into more detail on this:

The chart of Israel's founding has 25 Libra rising, the degree Mars was transiting on the 7th when Hamas launched their surprise attack; Mars was also square the Midheaven, while Pluto was directly on the IC and thus opposing the MC, all of which was activated by the Moon's transit on Oct. 7th--the Moon triggers that which is waiting to happen. Venus was also at 28Leo, the degree at which she stationed this summer, conjunct Israel's Mars. Eclipses like the pair in October have always coincided with defining new borders for Israel, which was founded shortly after a Taurus solar eclipse (same as today's, Oct. 28th). Israeli PM Netanyahu was born under a total solar eclipse in Libra as well. If we take December 10, 1987 as the founding date for Hamas, whose military arm led the October 7th attack, it was founded under a Pluto-Mars conjunction in Scorpio and a Saturn-Uranus conjunction (orb 1°) in Sagittarius.

More generally, many nations founded soon after WWII with Saturn in Leo (malefic in a sign of ruling or sovereignty) have had major disputes over where the border lines have been drawn. 2025 brings a Uranus return for both Israel and the US, close allies.

Chris was also looking at the astrology of different peace attempts, and found that while the Oslo accords were discussed under Saturn in Aquarius, the Peace Prize for it was given out during Saturn in Pisces, (where Saturn is now) with rx Venus conjunct Jupiter & the North Node (a nodal opposition to Israel's founding chart). However, Rabin (Israel's PM who signed the accords) was assassinated during an eclipse the following year. Eclipses occur in the same sign every 19 years, and in 2004 Israel began invading and settling northern Gaza. With the advent of smartphones and Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions moving from earth to air signs (200-year cycle), there may be some small hope that the fighting won't be as prolonged and ugly as it has been in the past. Unfortunately, November's astrology does not bode well for peace.

More on the Moon triggering configurations into action: aside from Oct. 7th, when her opposition to Pluto/square to Mars triggered that configuration with the initial Hamas attack, during the hospital bombing on the 28th she squared Saturn from 28Scorpio. More positively, on the 20th Hamas released two hostages when the Moon (♑) approached a grand trine with Venus (11-12♍) and Jupiter (12♉), and Israel let in 20 aid trucks on the 21st when this aspect went exact. Positive aspects in the midst of difficult configurations indicate a glimmer of hope.

Studying New & Full Moons has shown me that a diversity of things can happen during moon cycles besides the typical “release & manifestation” that’s widely promoted through Spiritual communities. Sometimes Moon Cycles come to give warning or reveal information we’ll need for future decisions. Other times they come to center and softly ground us. Moon messages helped me understand the big picture that Spirit was communicating to us . Below are dates of these moon cycles for your own personal use as well as additional summaries of those experiences. Review so you can #UPGRADE  & Use these as time stamps as we repeat moon cycles.

Who else is excited for this eclipse? Having so many fixed placements, I am definitely ready! This will close out the Scorpio/Taurus axis eclipses, and the recurrent themes it has activated in your life since the first eclipse of the season in Nov 2021.

This is a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse and so has many supercharged Full Moon themes including Culmination and Completion, which feels fitting considering this is closing out the season.

This series has been strong on themes common to Scorpio and Taurus including Security and Power and Transformation. You may have noticed that the themes here mirror themes felt in your life in 2012-2014, which is the last time this axis had eclipses.

the story

born in her mother's hometown of busan, south korea to famed korean film director, kang seong-wu (fifty-five) and korean-canadian actress mina nam (fifty-three) - maris feels they were destined to be a creative person. both her parents were in an upwards plateau of their career when she was born, and she was often brought to seoul for premiers & filming & meetings, and everything in between. their younger brother, wanted connection (??), was born not far after maris, completing the small family.

when maris was nine, their mother was offered a life-changing role in iron man (2008) as pepper potts. the small family promptly boarded a flight to lax for filming, and almost twenty years later - the family's homebase remains in los angeles. despite this, her father is still based in korea for his movies and shows and maris often found themself travelling to seoul at least twice a year for most of their childhood.

maris's love of horror and all things creepy came from seong-wu. their father built his whole career on horror, and has built a cult following with his four movies and two shows. in interviews, maris is open about wanting to collaborate with seong-wu one day - but they doubt that day will ever come. maris often feels at an arms-length away from her father, despite their similar careers and similar personalities.

mina loves her child. she frequently name drops her projects (books & tv shows) in multiple interviews, and anywhere she can. maris is grateful for her mother's love, but sometimes feels pressured and smothered by her.

they spent most of their childhood writing. they would write about the things around them; stories about the family vacations on jeju island, or visiting her grandparents in vancouver. maris wrote their first short story when they were 14 - a ghost story featuring banshees.

they continued to write - gradually moving into scripts as they started school at ucla for film studies. while at ucla, they entered multiple film festivals with friends and classmates. amongst those films, included "rosie's dead" (2017) which was a film maris wrote based on her first short story about banshees. "rosie's dead" won multiple awards in the 2017/2018 school year, and was the foundation for maris to start their career after graduating (although her mother and father's names didn't hurt, either)

during their final year at ucla, maris began interning on sets and working in writer's rooms. they used those experiences to better their writing, and push themselves to write scripts & stories. eventually, they finished their first novel - 'karrington road' a horror novel about two sisters who spend the night in a haunted house in vancouver, british columbia (mina's canadian hometown).

'karrington road' was published in 2021 by tor books under the pen name 'sun kang'. it was received to rave reviews, and was on the new york times bestsellers list for three weeks.

with her family & her book blowing up on tiktok, maris's social media began to blow up too. the small quips they'd make on twitter began to go viral, and silly little edits they'd make would get watched over & over. she would occasionally get stopped in the street to ask if the silly little tweets were theirs, and she revelled in it. they supposed it's how their mom feels at premiers, and on screen.

their second novel 'ilmol' was published in march 2023 by tor books. it follows multiple generations of vampires in korea. it was published to more rave reviews, and sat on top of the new york times best sellers list for three months.

shortly after ilmol was published, maris joined the writing room on a horror series on netflix - the series is rumoured to be a collaboration with her father (and they're right.). maris is incredibly nervous about the collaboration - worried they'll let their father down, but also let themself down.

in the period between 'karrington road' and 'ilmol', maris joined the writing room on an hbo miniseries. it was her first tv or movie project, and the episode she helped write was nominated for an emmy. looking towards their mother again, maris felt a sense of accomplishment. they felt apart of their great family - not just a shadow in her parent's way.

Welcome to our first full week of March. We will have a few major transits in play all week long.

Mercury in Pisces sextile with Uranus in Taurus, Monday (fast)

Chiron conjunct North Node, 17° Aries, Tuesday (VERY slow)

Mars in Aquarius sextile Chiron/North Node in Aries/trine South Node in Libra, Wednesday (slowish))

Mercury conjunct Neptune 27° Pisces, Friday (fast)

I listed the speed of the transits for a reason here. Fast transits will be in play for several hours to a day, slowish transits will be in play all week, and VERY slow transits will be in play all month long. I'm going to start from slow to fast when discussing the energy of the week.

VERY SLOW

Chiron will be conjunct to our North Node within a degree all month long. This is a big deal transit. Chiron is our wounded healer asteroid and our North Node is the point of forward-facing fate/"future" fate. These two meet up about every 10-20 years and it is always an emotional reckoning.

If you come face to face the biggest pains of your life this week (and honestly, all month, and most of last month), know that you are right on time.

It may feel like a lot. It's likely even to feel like too much if you aren't the sort of person who is comfortable with shadow work and inner reflection. (that isn't meant to be a judgment, just a statement of fact)

The Chiron wound of Aries is one of individuality. Aries is sign #1, the eternal leader. Not the sometimes benevolent leader of Leo, the trail-blazing entrepreneur. If the Aries leader fails at anything, it is in forgetting to look back. Are you still being followed? Have you gone so far into the weeds that even YOU have lost your way? Aries can get so into the journey, into the exploration of it all, that they forget to check if it is good, it is right, or - quite frankly - if it is needed.

If you find yourself alone in the proverbial wilderness this week, you are right on time. Maybe this is a quest you need to take alone. Maybe you forgot about your people along the way. Only you can understand whether you like going at it alone or if you want others by your side.

1 is only the loneliest number if you are not a number 1.

When this energy meets up with the North Node, we can expect ALL leadership to come under scrutiny. This is ultimately a good thing - the gods know that we need a reckoning over some of the people in positions of control of our governments and world. It may not feel that way along the way. We can assume some things are going to get worse before they get better.

Some things need to break before they can be fixed.

This transit will be active all month long.

SLOWISH

Mars, our planet of action, will be in transit with both the North and South Node all week long and square with Uranus in Taurus.

This is a pretty bad news bears transits and it calls for some level of extreme caution throughout the week. Mars rules action and Uranus rules accidents and here they are square with one another in the fixed signs.

Some of you might remember that throughout 2021 and into 2022 Uranus in Taurus was square to Saturn in Aquarius - an aspect that was a bit like the Irresistable Force Paradox. Uranus is a cosmic "go" - not the kind you can control, more like the gravity of an avalanche bearing down on your life. Saturn is the cosmic "Stop" sign. Because Uranus is so slow-moving, it still hasn't left Taurus which means some of the residuals of this energy are still in motion.

Except Mars isn't a Stop Sign, Mars doesn't even believe in Stop signs.

This may create a feeling of out-of-controlness (who's driving car?!?) to this entire week. Stay off the road entirely if you can. Apply that both literally and figuratively as needed.

There may be no stopping it. That's the lunar nodes in play. And it's likely to hurt - that's Chiron. This week may serve as a good "first look" into the energy we will experience during Aries season (ruled by Mars) when we enter eclipse season at the end of this month.

Stay aware.

FASTISH

Our Sun is moving through Pisces. Have you packed your tissues? Expect the world to feel muddy and untenable all week long. There might not be a lot of reason to be found (Mercury also in Pisces until Sunday). The Sun makes a sextile with Uranus this week which just shows that life may feel bigger than us and a bit beyond our control.

A reminder: it's much harder to drown when you tread water.

If there's an intense undertow in your life this week, water advice applies: let the tow take you out, and don't try to fight against it. After it drops you, THEN swim to shore.

VERY FAST

Oh, dear sweet Mercury. Mercury is moving extra fast as it begins the preparations for its retrograde cycle (they will retrograde on 4/1). On Monday Mercury meets up in a sextile with Uranus which is a great day for inspiration. On Friday, Mercury conjuncts Neptune so things will be murky AF. Don't even try to talk to living, maybe talk to the spirits instead?

On Sunday, Mercury enters Aries. Mercury will remain in Aries for 10 weeks as it undergoes its retrograde there. That's a long time for our fast-moving messenger planet - for instance, they were in Pisces for 16 days. Expect all things communication to get quick and fiery for more than a hot minute.

See above about how Aries sometimes forget to see everybody else, and apply it as needed to your communications in your life.

So yeah, Mercury in Aries isn't Super Fast in terms of time, but it will FEEL super fast in terms of energy for quite some time.

A note here to those who are prone to mania: as Mercury in Aries speeds up the air, you may need to stay extra aware.

THE MOON

Our new moon at 20° Pisces is our last lunar event before eclipse season begins at the end of this month. Also, at 20° Pisces, it also occurs at the end of the astrological wheel which begins anew at 00° Aries on 3/19. We're in the end end zone and those that are sensitive among us are probably feeling it.

The new moon will make a close sextile to Uranus in Taurus and a wide conjunction with Neptune. There isn't a lot that can be done during this time. It's not a good time to set intentions for the external world but can definitely be worked to set intentions in your internal world.

This energy supports divination, dreamwork, and other types of otherworldly traveling, but little else.

Expect the weekend to be emotional, perhaps even irrational.

Energy Update: March 2024

March is a "2" Universal Month [3 (March) + 8 (2024) = 11 = 1+1 =2] in an "8" Universal Year. 2-months are associated with building connections and the beginning of a path forward. They are often also associated with breakthroughs - this is very in line with the astrology of March which is highlighted by an intense once-in-a-decade conjunction between Chiron and the North Node, and the beginning of Eclipse Season.

The Set Up

We begin the month with the Sun and Mercury in Pisces, Venus Mars and Pluto in Aquarius, Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus, and Neptune in Pisces. Note here the cluster of planets from the sign of Aquarius to the sign of Taurus (with Chiron and the North Node in the otherwise unoccupied sign of Aries in the middle of this cluster). This shows that we have a lot of work, individually and as a society, to do in the areas represented by the last two (Aquarius/Pisces) and first two (Aries/Taurus) signs in the zodiac. The times are changing (Pluto just shifted signs back at the end of January) and there may be some adjustments that need to be made.

By month's end, the Sun and Mercury will have moved on into Aries, and Venus and Mars will have moved into Pisces. Note here that both Venus and Mars are lagging behind the Sun which puts relationships somewhat in the rearview mirror.

The Nitty Gritty

All eyes are on the lunar nodes which will finish off their transit of Aries and Libra at the end of this year.

For those that need a primer, the North and South Nodes of the Moon are not physical objects in the sky but rather mathematical points in which the Sun, Moon, and Earth have the potential to line up with one another to create the solar and lunar eclipses. Both of these two points carry a certain weight to them and are best likened linguistically to the idea of "fate". The North Node is considered to be forward-facing fate, that which is yet to come, and the South Node is considered to control the fate of what has already happened. They always occur as a pair with one another, each occupying one-half of opposing signs in the horoscope wheel. As our North Node (forward-facing fate) is in Aries and our South Node (past fate) is in Libra, we are all being encouraged to think more independently (Aries) and to move away from group think and other forms of codependency (Libra).

This cycle is going to be highlighted all month long and beyond as all of our personal planets enter the sign of Aries and work toward their inevitable conjunction with our North Node. This month Mercury and Chiron will conjunct the North Node, in April the Sun and Venus will conjunct the North Node, and, in May, Mars will conjunct the North Node. This is it - the time to decide. We may be forced in the months ahead to make choices to better our own lives BEFORE the choices are made for us. If you want to be in control of your own fate, the time to act and set intentions is early in March BEFORE eclipse season. Once eclipse season has arrived, all bets are off.

As I have stated many times, the first of the month tends to set the stage for the energy of the month ahead as a whole and 3/1 does not disappoint with our Sun in Pisces sextile with Jupiter in Taurus (good vibes all around there) and Venus in Aquarius sextile to both the North Node and Chiron in Aries. Note here: the North Node and Chiron will be conjunct to one another within a degree for THE ENTIRE MONTH OF MARCH - this shows that although there is a way forward, it might be a painful one. This is pretty in line with some of the relationship ick we might have left from a very poorly aligned month in February and the general feeling that Pluto, newly in Aquarius, is bringing to the table.

If Change Before You Have To is the name of the game, we've passed into the Have To part of the playoffs.

There is definitely a way forward during this time, but you absolutely will not be able to bring all of your baggage with you.

Put that shit down, if you can.

The first weekend of March may prove volatile as both Mercury and Venus play with Uranus in Taurus through a supportive sextile for the former and a tougher square for the latter. Uranian energy can feel fairly similar to lunar nodal/eclipse energy as it tends to feel larger than life and unavoidable. It carries much of the same energy as the Tower card in the tarot or the Hagalaz rune. Keep your eyes wide open and try to practice radical acceptance of what is coming up for you in your life. Keep an eye on this energy as it is going to show up big in Taurus season two months from now.

On Monday, 3/5, we experience our exact conjunction between our Asteroid Chiron and the North Node at 16° Aries. Chiron, often known as the wounded healer, tends to represent the pain point of an old wound. In Sign #1 Aries, this wound is centered around how we have all been forced to abandon our uniqueness and individuality to fit in with the pack. The North Node is highlighting the need to be who YOU really are - not who society has told you to be, not who your parents have told you to be, not who your partner would like you to be. If you have trauma around conforming - either wanting to and not being able to or being forced to when it wasn't in your nature, this is the transit to watch out for this month. The combination of North Node and Chiron energy can be extremely healing but it's going to take some work and dedication to see through the muck to the other side. It is worth the reminder here that the secret to Chiron moments in life is to lean INTO the pain rather than away from it.

The next day, Mars in Aquarius sextiles both of these two major stress points in the skies. I think that this may open up some avenues of reconciliation between couples that may be on the outs after a rough February (romance-wise). This is a cosmic reminder to let your partner be who they really are, or leave. (Quite frankly.) With such a heavy influence on the individual over the couple (Aries North Node), there's going to be a lot of impetus to just go it alone. And that's not a bad decision right now if we're being honest.

Better alone than with somebody who keeps you small, that's a lesson of the North Node in Aries FOR SURE.

The second weekend in March is even more volatile and Uranian than the first with our Sun in Pisces sextile to Uranus in Taurus and Mars in Aquarius in direct square. This is RED FLAGS weather. Any Mars-Uranus transits are and the square is by far the worst of them. Lie low, stay out of the fire, and avoid explosives of all kinds if you can. Fate is heavily in play still and Uranus never holds its punches. It's the dark of the moon, as well, which tends to make the energy deep and murky.

Our new moon is on Sunday 3/10 at 20° Pisces and carries with it the energy of 6 and 7. It is also still sitting in the Uranian energy of the day beforehand. The unpredictability of Uranian energy and the darkness of the unconscious 12th house may be on full display here so expect some immature/shadow behaviors to rise to the surface. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. In its mature form, Piscean energy can be the most selfless of the entire horoscope - tap into that if you can. Watch out for selfishness and avoidant behavior of all kinds. Though it is a wide conjunction, this will bring some of the energy of Neptune in late Pisces into play. Great for a game of role-play, but not so great for honest discussions or accountability. This energy supports divination, dream work, and spirit communication, but little else. This is also the last major lunar event before our eclipses so the most sensitive among us will already be feeling it.

The energy will shift a bit as Mercury enters Aries and Venus enters Pisces but we'll still have the same general energies in play, so it may go unnoticed amongst the angst. We're drawing close to the Spring Equinox and the start of Aries season which will include two eclipses so the energy may seem to build every day leading up to the 19th. If you are feeling the anxiety of "something about to happen", know that you are right on time.

It's going to happen in a flash. On 3/18, Mercury enters its pre-retrograde shadow at 15° Aries. On 3/19, the Sun enters Aries, and Mercury conjuncts the North Node. On 3/20, Mercury conjuncts Chiron.

Though Chiron and the North Node no longer share the same degree, they are still in close conjunction with each other and Mercury is like the cherry on top of this powerhouse stellium. If you have a relationship that you want to save - this is the time to talk it out. But - AS STATED ABOVE - you gotta be willing to let the other person be who they need to be. And vice versa. That is the bare minimum right now.

For the rest of us, words may hurt during this time, but they might also be quite cathartic. This is a hard "Go" for all of your writers out there. What comes up now isn't going anywhere, we will have to experience these degrees of Aries multiple times during Mercury's retrograde cycle as Mercury moves back and forth between 15-27° Aries thrice. This can be a boon or a bane and some of that will likely be up to your perception (Mercury) of these events. This is wildcard energy and as we enter Aries season, the lunar nodes are ready to go.

Aries is our first sign of the zodiac and it is a moving/cardinal sign ruled by Mars, the planet of action. Expect the pace to pick up faster by the day the Sun sextiles Pluto and Venus conjuncts Saturn on 3/21, and Mars enters Pisces on 3/22. Our lunar eclipse on 3/25 at 05° Libra is a neon billboard already shining in the sky. We're in the event horizon.

To understand eclipses you must accept that you will never understand eclipses. They exist in a space that appears to exist a bit out of time and create a feeling of heightened liminality to the world. This is why many astrologers explain the energy of an eclipse as opening and closing the doors of fate. Some opportunities seem to materialize out of nowhere with eclipse energy whereas other things in your life might drift permanently away. The general rule of thumb is to trust eclipse energy as the Nodes of the Moon, in the natal chart, are supposed to show us our destiny/path.

I have found that not all eclipses create drastic change in my life, but eclipses that strongly aspect my natal chart are far more likely to. I will write more about this specific eclipse energy in its own post but it is THE transit of the month, for obvious reasons.

Note here that this is a full moon (lunar) eclipse so our moon in Libra is conjunct to the South Node in Libra and opposed to the Sun and North Node in Aries. This is a release/release eclipse energy that will highly augment any magic or rituals done to let go of things and move the fuck on.

It is time. Spring has sprung. The world is reborn anew for another growing year. April will be a "3" month. "3" is the number of creation. Let's get ready.

March Magical Forecast

Welcome to March and eventually SPRING everyone! This Pisces and Aries season is all about HEALING and making peace with the past so that we can move forward. Though the two zodiac seasons are split in the month of March, the final lunar cycle in Pisces will weave our internal journeys of healing through the month, reviewing our spiritual paths, examining our emotional bodies, shedding beliefs and mindsets that no longer work and making peace with the people of our past along with mending emotional wounds.

In the Pisces half there will be a lot of days with no notable transits so there will be a lot of time for rest and reflection before the fiery excitement of Aries season kicking it off on the first quarter moon. It's a time to reflect on challenges in life and see what is and what's not working in order to grow. Along with healing there will be a lot of opportunities to get work done. Aries season will bring endless transits of lucky boosts in our areas of work, business and responsibilities so it will feel like things are waking up and taking off after hibernation. Though there are a lot of exciting steamy romantic aspects, there are more aspects urging us to heal before we make new bonds. However in Aries season there is a lot of potential for new friends, new opportunities and new lovers. You just need to prioritize the healing or else some of those challenging aspects can hit you like a brick. (One of Aries season's theme is confronting challenges so if you try to skirt past the work it wont end up in your favor later).

Week 1

1 - ☾♎ Moon in Libra

The first day of March has a pleasant and calm vibe as the moon wraps up it's transit in Libra. There are no other notable transits so the energy will still feel high after the full moon however it will be a time to process that energy and integrate it into our lives as we look forward to the new month ahead.

When the moon is in Libra it's a good time for peace and harmonizing spells, glamour magic, love magic especially self love and investing our energy towards the things that we love. There will be a lot of themes revolving around love and healing this month so reflect on what truths the Full Moon in Virgo wanted to show you and think about how you can integrate them in your life to promote more self love.

2 - ☾♏ Moon enters Scorpio

There are no notable transits today other than the moon entering Scorpio. When the moon is in Scorpio it's a good day for shadow work, energy work, spirit work and hedge witchcraft.

3 - ☾♏ Disseminating Moon | Moon Trine Sun Venus in Pisces trines Uranus in Taurus

Today will feel celebratory and exciting! These energies are brought to you by the Moon in Scorpio trining the Sun and Venus in Pisces trining Uranus in Taurus. The Disseminating moon is a time for gratitude as we reflect on what we've accomplished so far on a personal level during this lunar cycle since the New Moon. However if we feel our tasks aren't complete yet its a time to focus more energy towards them. With the Venus and Uranus trine it will bring new and exciting discoveries, people and ventures to our interests in life. In romantic relationships this can cause couples to want to experiment. With artists we may find new outlets to express ourselves. Venus and Uranus trine is a great time for creative experimentation and expanding our perspectives on our interests.

4 - ☾♐ Mars enters Gemini Moon enters Sagittarius

Suddenly our source of motivation and drive may feel a shift as Mars enters Gemini. Here mars is considerably more versatile and flexible, however unlike Taurus, it is less determined and focused. Our interests may become more diversified however our energies may become scattered and sometimes ineffective. Though we may excel in communicating ideas, acting out on them may become more challenging in this cycle. However this time could be about expanding our interests and learning new material. As the moon enters Sagittarius we may feel more optimistic and ready to focus on the bigger picture. It's time to put focus on our true interests and learn more material about them.  

5 - ☾♐ Mercury conjuncts Jupiter in Aquarius

It's a day to expand our perspectives and feel optimistic as Mercury and Jupiter join in the heavens. This conjunction brings good news, optimism and a happy frame of mind. We should be feeling broad-minded, generous and sociable. A great way to take advantage of this energy is to plan journeys and holidays (the best time for this!) or take time to study something new. This energy is great for taking exams or for doing anything that you are supposed to mentally ace. A lucky transit like this only happens once a year! You should also be getting endless ideas today so it's a good time to write them down. This energy can also help you overcome creative/mental blocks as this conjunction will boost our mental energy. One thing to be aware of though is this optimism may make us plan more than we can handle in the future. As long as you are are aware of your limits this should be a great day to make plans for travel and for future fun! Lastly make sure to have fun on this day! Do something you enjoy, call up some friends or take time to learn about something you've always wanted to try out!

6 - ☾♐ Last Quarter Moon

It's a day of reflection as the moon enters it's last quarter phase in Sagittarius. Today we can reflect on our personal and emotional journeys from the start of the New Moon in Aquarius on the 11th of February. In what ways have we aimed to release ourselves from elements in our lives that are repressing us? How did we honor our uniqueness and individuality? Did we feel like we've experienced some type of progression, evolution or freedom during this time? It's a good day to meditate, bring awareness to these aspects of your life and see if you are happy with the lessons you've learned or if there is still more work to do. With the moon in Sagittarius it's a time for expansion and growth so if you don't feel like you've done enough during the Aquarius new moon cycle, this last quarter moon is giving you the opportunity for additional growth and exploration of these elements before it wraps up the cycle. As the Last Quarter moon is a good time for reflection on the previous cycle it's also a good time to do some divination for shadow work. You can look to your sources of divining to see where you should focus your energy for the remainder of the cycle or how you can still honor the lessons of this Aquarius new moon cycle before it ends. Ask your cards is there any way you can make further progress or release certain repressing ideas before the cycle ends.

The week ahead is going to be very peaceful with it's transits until the New Moon in Pisces. It will be a restful yet contemplative period that can allow us to focus on wrapping up our goals or doing internal work before the new cycle begins.

There are no major transits today other than the moon entering Capricorn. When the moon enters Capricorn we may find it easier to tackle our to do lists and analyze our emotions and thoughts with more ease. It's a great day to complete tasks as we will feel our sense of responsibility heighten. It's also a great day for ancestral magic, mineral based magic (crystals, earth and metals), strengthening wards and boundaries and as the moon is waning it's good energy to help wrap things up.

The moon continues it's transit in Capricorn today. Today's energy will feel the same as yesterday making it another good day to focus on work and wrapping up projects.

9 - ☾♒ Balsamic Moon | Moon in Capricorn sextiles Sun in Pisces Moon enters Aquarius

When the moon is waning into it's Balsamic phase it's a good time to start cleansing, breaking chords, banishing and clearing anything unwanted from repressive relationships to harmful mentalities that are weighing you down before the new cycle begins. The moon will sextile the Sun in Capricorn making this energy feel productive. The sextile will be the boost we will feel to get everything needed done. As the moon enters Aquarius the themes of our freedom, repression and individuality becomes the theme of our inner landscape again. We will find ourselves reflecting on this lunar cycle starting with the New Moon in Aquarius, what Mercury rx in Aquarius had to teach us about our past, our previous social circles, if they were helpful to our growth and progress or if they were repressive and suppressed our uniqueness. As the moon closes up it's cycle in Aquarius, we will start to understand the lessons of Mercury's retrograde, what Aquarius season had to teach us about our own freedom and individuality and the inner progress we've made during this Aquarian lunar cycle. We will start to understand what roles we may have played in social groups and how that could have shaped the way we see ourselves, if we feel supported or if we feel like an outcast. Certain truths that could have been obscured by social politics or emotional pain and insecurities could finally be understood and help us move on from the past. After all Aquarius is all about progression and individuality.

10 - ☾♒ The moon continues it's transit in Aquarius today. It's a good day to reflect on the themes of the lunar Aquarian cycle, Mercury's retrograde in Aquarius and what we have learned from Aquarius season's lessons.

11 - ☾♓ Sun conjunct Neptune in Pisces Moon enters Pisces

Today will feel magical and dreamy as the sun conjuncts Neptune in Pisces increasing our sensitivity, intuition, empathy and magic. Our boundaries may feel a bit loose today so be careful of who you choose to surround yourself in or the environments you have to be in. Of course make sure to protect your identity or information as Neptune aspects can make the scammer, thieves and deceivers come out of their little holes to ruin lives. Make sure to treat everything with discernment as illusions may be more enchanting than usual. On a positive level this is a good time to escape reality through art like the movies or books, music and illustration. We will feel creative today and more attracted to the spiritual world. It's also a good day to practice magic and review our path. Other than exploring our creativity, we can explore our magic and collective subconscious through dream magic. It's a good day for drinking a dream brew and practicing lucid dreaming. Some herbs that help with this are lavender, mugwort (small amounts- and do not consume if pregnant), rosemary and valerian root. Clary Sage helps as a fragrance if you'd like to sprinkle the oil on your bed. However it has a very sharp fragrance that is not too soothing so be sparse with it.

12 - ☾♓ The moon is in Pisces so the energy will carry over to today as well. When the moon is in Pisces it's a good day for art magic, water based magic, dream oracling, boundary setting, meditating, healthy escapism through art and divination.

13 - ☾♓ New Moon in Pisces

A new lunar cycle begins as the moon aligns with the sun in Pisces. We will feel heightened sensitivity and empathy as we will be having four planets in Pisces at this time. (The Sun, the Moon, Neptune and Venus all within four degrees of one another). Pay attention to your dreams during this transit as they will become more vivid and can give you deeper insights towards your current spiritual path. With so much energy focused on Pisces we may feel a sleepiness during the day but also a strong sense of otherworldliness as the realms become blended together. This is the final lunar cycle before the fresh new start coming in Aries season. Pisces lies at the end of each journey, being the amalgamation of all that has come before. As we enter this last lunar cycle, it will be like diving into the ocean-like source as our subconscious connects us to the collective emotions and astral plane. Lunar cycles are all about our inner progress and emotional landscapes. Each new moon begins a new cycle with a theme. As each comes to an end we end up reflecting on that theme and our emotional growth. The Pisces New Moon marks the end of all of the lunar cycles. This cycle will be reflecting on the emotional progress of the entire lunar year starting from the first Aries lunar cycle from March 2020. As it's been a traumatic year for most (last Aries season marked the global lockdown in the western world for most countries), we may be faced with not only our own but the collective emotional sense of feeling restless, lost, confused and unsure of where to go. We will feel a sense of drowning in the dark night of the soul. However this new moon has the energy of surrendering. Surrender to fate, surrender to the tides and let go. In the release and in your dreams you can find rest and in that space of void can birth new opportunities.

This new lunar cycle will have us focus on our emotional body, what we may have absorbed emotionally throughout the year, releasing it and expanding our creativity. The energy is fantastic for starting something new especially in regards to us using our creativity. With Venus conjunct Neptune in pisces our creativity and compassion is at a high right now. Our artistic pursuits and hobbies could greatly benefit from us focusing our energy towards them. With the moon in Aries there is a focus on new beginnings and taking action. Though the Venus and Neptune conjunct could slow our motivation to get any responsibilities or busywork done, with the moon in Aries we will get some motivation at least to focus on anything that helps us to day dream, be creative or escape. Along with our spiritual perspectives expanding and our creativity being explored, this conjunction can strengthen compassion and spiritual bonds in an existing relationship or bring new partnerships your way. If you are in need of spiritual friends or people in your life that are aligned with your journey, today is a good day to manifest them and work on that attraction magic. However with Neptune aspects it can bring dissolved barriers and deception. Be discerning with whom you let in your space and be clear in who you'd like to attract. This aspect can make it difficult to see people as they are as we could choose to believe in a projected fantasy in our minds about them instead. This can allow deceptive or manipulative people to slip past our boundaries easily.

15 - ☾♈ Mercury enters Pisces

We will feel an energy shift in the mental realm today as Mercury enters Pisces. We may pay less attention to specific details yet glean information from our surroundings through emotions and feelings. Our sense of empathy is heightened during this time along with our intuition. We may experience incredibly vivid dreams during this transit, pick up on others emotions around us with ease and feel a deeper sense of creativity. Unfortunately Mercury in Pisces transit can make us easily prone to escapism and daydreaming which makes these next few weeks more difficult to focus on work and organization. You can take some time to surrender and just escape or explore the ethereal, your magic, your subconscious and dreams. Yet for the times you need to concentrate you should take time to meditate and focus on grounding yourself and shielding. Mercury in Pisces can make us more susceptible to illusions and trickery. It's important we have strong boundaries during this time. Consider working with Hematite and Black Tourmaline during this time. If you do not want to work with crystals, using energy can help with meditation. Practice grounding and setting up a shield around yourself. Make sure to practice discernment especially when giving out your personal information or signing any agreements and contracts.

16 - ☾♉ Sun in Pisces sextiles Pluto in Capricorn Moon enters Taurus

We may feel a sense of things wrapping up or cases getting closed on this day as the Sun sextiles Pluto. This positive aspect gives a boost of energy between the two planets, making us motivated to uncover truths, understand our own or others hidden nature, change deep seated habits, suddenly cut out any unhelpful beliefs, people or situations in our lives and grant us the determination to complete any goals. This sextile is like a helpful trimming of everything unneeded from your life right now along with a boost to complete any essential tasks you need to wrap up. We may feel ourselves suddenly over a situation, ready to move on and distancing ourselves from places or people who may bring the worst sides out of us. Maybe a deeply buried emotional issue or trauma we haven't been able to process can finally be understood with some clarity that can help us move on. When the moon is in it's waxing crescent phase it's a good time to try new things, experiment and learn something new in our area of interests. In regards to our projects, it's a good time to start on some rough drafts or brainstorm. It's a great time to experiment, make mistakes and take notes on what works and what doesn't. Today the Sun will sextile the Moon giving us a boost of energy to work on ourselves, our personal spheres and interests so we will have the motivation to get tasks done. Reflect on what intentions you've set for the Pisces New Moon and see if there's anything there you'd like to explore or try out. It's another day where we will get a positive opportunity to work through some trauma yet also find some solutions to lessons in life. This energy will be brought to us by Mars in a sextile with Chiron. This sextile will give us the motivation to work through some of our insecurities or current obstacles. Whatever we may have seen as a set back we could feel the desire to break through today. This energy will be supported by Venus in a sextile with Pluto which will give us the drive to find alignment with our authenticity. We may be more aware of our passions and interests in life which we would like to devote ourselves to. In terms of relationships this may make us crave finding a soul connection or deepening our relationships on a more profound level. This can also make us want to explore our sexuality more. The two sextiles can give us the drive to work through any deep insecurities, expand our sexuality and be in more alignment with our true selves along with getting rid of any obstacles that are in our way.

20 - ☾♊ Spring Equinox Ostara Sun enters Aries

It's the Spring Equinox!! Blessed Ostara to those who celebrate. Happy Spring and Happy Aries Season!

Aries season feels like a fresh start in the year and the official end of the hibernation season. Our ENERGY is back!! At 100% especially after the restful and dreamy Pisces season. You can always feel the fiery energeticness of Aries season the moment the sun transits into the sign. It's the unmistakable energy of the Mad March Hare, the excitement to spend time outside, and to get stuff rolling into action.

Ostara and the Spring Equinox is all about sprouting in a physical and metaphorical sense. In a physical sense the world around us is starting to bud, sprout and blossom. Reflect on the intentions you have set during Imbolc for this year and see how you can progress those plans and start to materialize them. Review your plans and your goals. Do you see anything starting to bud? How can you bring more nurturing to these areas to help them progress? In a physical sense sometimes when we sow seeds, they do not germinate just because the conditions weren't right. Metaphorically we can take the seeds we've sown as our intentions in Imbolc and see if they have started to sprout. If they haven't it's time to try again and if they have then it's time to move forward! Aries season is about charging forward, trial and error so it's a good time to take stock on what needs to get done and just do it!

Other ways to celebrate this solar celebration and sabbat is to do a final cleanse of your space to say good bye to winter and the hibernation period (Spring Cleaning!), using your preferred method of divining to examine your current path and seek a new direction if you feel you need one, use green magic to sow seeds and write your desires on an eggshell starter or contemplate on new people and experiences to attract into your life. Right now may not be the best time for attraction magic for people but it is for opportunities and experiences. If you need a new job, another chance or even to break through obstacles and barriers it's a good time to send energy that way. The Libra full moon is a great time to attract people your way and do love magic in general, but this year the Full Moon will have a strong focus on healing. This year may not be about advancing our social circle (also most of us literally can't with the new regulations) but astrologically the heavens want us to reflect and heal anyway.

21 - ☾♋ First Quarter Moon Venus enters Aries Mercury in Pisces sextiles Uranus in Taurus

There will be another fiery energy shift today as Venus enters Aries. This will make the first chapter of spring feel exciting with increased potentials for new partnerships, hookups and friendships. Venus in Aries loves to seduce, chase and conquest so the spring fever may arrive early with this transit. While Venus is in Aries, love will feel more spontaneous and direct. It will feel like a brand new start so if you are looking to date again or get over past relationships whether it be an ex or an old friend-group you've grown apart from, this is a good time to meet new people. We may be aware of this energy shift as the moon enters it's first quarter phase in Cancer. We may look back on our Pisces New Moon intentions and reflect on our emotional body or what we may have been carrying emotionally with us from the previous year. We could think about who kept us feeling supported or safe. In a positive scenario this Venusian energy could make us feel more inclined to hang out with loved ones and plan new things to do as things open up. In another scenario it could make us feel like we need new friends and people around us since we are not feeling as supported as we need to be. Alternatively this energy can make us review our values and see if we need to change our current path to align us to what we want and need. The first quarter moon is good for reviewing plans and strategizing and Venus is also about our values. With Venus in Aries we may develop new preferences or styles and there could be a drive to update these aspects of ourselves. Lastly Mercury will sextile Uranus today adding additional excitement to the energy. This transit brings exciting news, potential change of habits and routines but with the chance to learn new things and meet new people. This transit also brings flashes of insight, intriguing dreams that can help shift our perspectives and help us to look forward to the future and make plans. New insights can help solve old problems on this day.

To wrap up, First Quarter Moons are perfect for planning and there is a lot of positive energy helping this to go ahead. Making plans and strategizing would go favorably today. If you do feel restless with all the Aries energy and the first quarter moon creating tension, then today is a great day to focus on the home and do some spring cleaning! The moon in Cancer may give us the boost to want to tidy our space and freshen it up for Spring. It's a great day to get work DONE!!! As Saturn is a slow moving planet, this positive aspect with Mars only happens about twice a year. Trines are beneficial aspects that bring a lot of luck, but only if you put the work towards it. However once you do you will notice everything flowing together so smoothly as if you are under a lucky charm. Unlike Sextiles which can give you a boost of energy to get to work, Trines are so harmonious you can easily miss them, so it's good to mark the calendar and remember that today is a great day to GRIND! Set your morning clock to get up early, get a nice caffeinated drink and DOMINATE the day. You will realize how powerful you feel with Mars in a positive trine with Saturn. This transit gives us the strength, ambition and perseverance to take on the hardest of tasks and complete them on time, on budget and with perfection. You WILL find the most efficient way to get the job done. This is an excellent transit to follow through on something you are passionate about or something you have desired for some time to accomplish. Lasting success and practical results can be found in business and work. This is a great time to start a business and expect support from authority figures. There is an increase of rushed thinking, short tempers, aggression, rash decision making, jumping to conclusions, all which can make us say the wrong thing or choose the wrong decisions. This conjunct is also fantastic energy for friendships, romance and social influences. So usually this full moon is the love spell EVENT of the year however this year 2021 there is a SHADOW work twist to it.

The Full Moon in Libra has themes of harmony, balance and justice but it's also all about partnerships. The full moon opposes the sun bringing together the other side of the element for a full balanced picture. Aries season is all about ourselves, our goals and new beginnings, however the full moon in Libra is about partnerships and what people bring to enrich our lives, help us grow and strive towards our goals together. Especially as the Spring season hastens, this is a great time for love magic and putting out energy to attract someone new.

However since humanity and the universe is experiencing some collective growing pains and the transits want to push us to grow as they challenge us more, our dear planet Venus, the ruler of Libra is in conjunction with CHIRON in Aries. They both will oppose the moon in Libra but that depends where you are, for most people this opposition will occur tomorrow on the 29th when the moon is still full yet no longer at it's peak. To break down what's happening with this energy we need to examine Chiron and the lessons this planet brings. The celestial bodies of Saturn, Jupiter and Chiron have the same similarities that they are all teachers and teach generations certain lessons to overcome. However unlike Jupiter which likes to teach through traveling, expansion and good vibes, Saturn and Chiron get a bad wrap cause they require responsibility and inner healing which are harder obstacles to overcome. In classic astrology Saturn is seen as a malefic where as Chiron is seen as a wounded healer who just exists in your star chart to give you deep seated insecurities and incurable trauma. Both are not true.

Chiron is an alchemist. It is a problem solver and ultimately a healer. It's true that the aspects it may give in your star chart can never go away and it's a sensitive area, however it doesn't serve to be a source of pain but a gateway of understanding of how to empower yourself in that area and in turn empower others once you figure it out. Chiron has three levels to it's energy. First it makes us aware of what hurts and brings this pain to the surface. This is the wounded healer phase. The second phase is healing the wound. This only happens if we are aware of the wound. Like the great lyrics of Elizabeth Fraser, "You Can't Heal what You Can't Feel". Lastly Chiron transforms the wound into a gift. Chiron's glyph is a key helping us to unlock new levels of understanding. Shyness becomes quiet confidence. Low self esteem becomes self empowerment. etc.

We all may have some insecurities when it comes to romantic love because we live in a society that deliberately tells us that some are worthy of love (and eventually reproduction or having a family) where as others aren't. We may look in the mirror and think 'I am undeserving because I am not a good enough candidate' because we were taught good enough candidates have access to money, or can market themselves well on IG, or are close to whiteness, thinness, neurotypical/able bodied- whatever this white supremacist late stage capitalistic society favors. This full moon in Libra wants us to heal. It wants us to look at our past relationships (and I mean all kinds from partnerships to friendships to romantic affairs) and forgive yourself for any ugly situations in order to move on. If you hold negative beliefs revolving around romance (examples: you feel you need someone to complete you, you need a partner of a certain status to elevate/validate you, you feel unworthy when you are single etc.) it's time to release them in order to grow. If you are afraid of love because of the past, it's time to release that pain in order to grow. Reflecting back on the New Moon's cycle starting in Pisces, this full moon wants us to review these emotions we could be holding from our partnerships in the past and previous year and release them. Chiron is similar to Saturn where it does want you to do the work and if you skirt the responsibility, you will feel the pain. However if you work with this energy, it will show you how to love so you can break through the fear and start loving yourself and others for real. In this sense this full moon is about clearing, releasing, self love and emotional growth instead of inviting something new.

29 - ☾♎ Sun conjunct Chiron in Aries

More healing is in the forefront today as the Sun is conjunct Chiron in Aries. Both Venus and Chiron (no longer conjunct though) will be opposing the transiting moon in Libra but at different times. Some of the energy from yesterday during the Full Moon's peak will carry on today creating another chapter of healing. When the Sun is conjunct Chiron we may have emotional pain come to the surface, it can even be the theme of the day, however Chiron wants us to work through the pain in order to heal and find a solution.

Especially after the height of the full moon, it's a good day to rest, do shadow work, spend time alone and heal. It's especially a good day to extend compassion to our loved ones and make sure everyone is ok and that they know they are loved.
