Dampflokomotive Yvonne von 1893 auf dem Festival Vapeur der 3-Täler Dampfeisenbahn. Leider am ersten Tag zum Teil mit sehr wechselhaften Wetter, was bei der offenen Bauart dieser hübschen Lok etwas ungemütlich ist. Aber die beiden Herren auf der Lok ließen sich nicht entmutigen und waren bester Laune. So durfte ich auch einmal auf diese wunderschöne Lokomotive, die früher Ihre Arbeit bei einer Mine in Liege verrichtet hat.

Steam locomotive Yvonne from 1893 at the Festival Vapeur of the 3-Valleys Steam Railway. Unfortunately, on the first day, the weather was partly very changeable, which is somewhat uncomfortable with the open design of this pretty locomotive. But the two gentlemen on the look were not discouraged and were in the best of moods. So I was allowed to step on this beautiful locomotive, which used to work at a mine in Liege.

liège is littered with modern buildings, some more conspicuous than others, and there is always art on buildings to discover, even if it is often hidden behind parked cars or in side streets.

liège ist gespickt mit bauwerken der moderne, mal auffälligeren und mal unaufälligeren. auch kunst am bau gibt es immer wieder zu entdecken, auch wenn sie oft hinter parkenden autos oder in seitenstraßen versteckt ist.

sinto muito por passar semanas sem escrever, já tentei começar esta carta diversas vezes , mas as coisas estão terríveis novamente, receio dizer. tudo deixado no meu quarto foram a mesa de estudos e uma cadeira. colchões, poltronas, foram levados e até mesmo meu closet está trancado . não tenho permissão para dormir, não posso comer muito caso fique sonolento , é um ciclo vicioso e seria engraçado se não me causasse tanta dor. espero que não tenha feito você odiar meus pais, eu não os odeio. o plano é o plano, eu tento entender ; mas é realmente tão difícil tentar ser perfeito.

mas o verão está prestes a começar e logo estarei no acampamento, talvez passe todos os meus dias dormindo e não treine nem um pouco. complicado, não acha? vou estar entediado no segundo dia , quem sabe , dure até o terceiro, mas então voltarei para a arena. acho que está no meu sangue, essa luta .

ah, e boas noticias ! um olheiro vem nos ver em alguns dias, pode ser meu ingresso para o meu esporte, e minha saída dessa casa. novamente, não os odeio - ou estou tentando meu melhor não odiar. minha mãe sempre foi assim, dizem que ela aprendeu com o pai , sempre ter que cuidar de tudo, aparentemente meu avô era incapaz de tomar as próprias decisões, me pergunto se ela simplesmente assume que sou igual. e meu pai … bem, ele ao menos diz que sente muito. mas ainda tranca a porta do quarto, e não volta para checar se estou vivo. acho que quebra seu coração, no entanto e de uma forma egoísta, fico feliz. será que sou uma pessoa ruim ?

Who do you think would actually win in the hypothetical cruel+unusual sword duel that Desmoulins wrote about in his notes on Saint-Just's report ("Qu'est-ce autre chose que le duel de l'empereur Commode, qui armé d'une excellente lame, forçait son ennemi à se battre avec un simple fleuret garni de liége!",etc)? The answer may seem obvious,but it's important to remember that Desmoulins mightve had lightning abilities or something of the like.

Last night's escapade: a mind-numbing online game. GeoGuesser for the chronically bored. Country du jour: Belgium. Because, why not? Circle five cities. Easy. Except my brain's a geography black hole.

Brussels, Bruges... Liége (maybe). That's when things go pear-shaped.

Suddenly, I'm in some retro hellhole – a 1997 computer lab. Arborite desks, reeking of stale pencil shavings. Substitute teachers drifting around, clutching their security blankets (tattered novels, lukewarm coffee).

No logical explanation, just me, dropped into Geography 101. Never taken the class. Never will. Too lazy, too apathetic.
