stunting.
The musical has become not only one of the endeavors he's been most enthusiastic about but also the most demanding one he's tackled thus far. And it's not that Minkyu finds it burdensome or exhausting; rather, it's an entirely new experience that has captured his heart:
the stunts, the combat—it's all part of a world he's never ventured into before, and yet, he finds himself enamored with it already.
Taking a momentary break from their stunt rehearsals, he flashes a grin at @lgcminjxe, using a nearby towel to dab at the beads of sweat forming on his brow. "You know, I always thought of myself as the athletic type, but these stunts are proving me wrong," he quips with a chuckle, allowing the towel to rest around his neck. "But it's so fun, isn't it? Definitely a big challenge, too."

PROJECT S ( PART 2 )
SCHEDULE RESTRICTIONS: for reference as to whether your muse is eligible for this event, please click over HERE.
after the first few hours of rehearsals, all of the legacy actors participating in ‘THE HIDDEN ENEMY MUSICAL’ ( CHO MINKYU, YANG AERI, YOON MINJAE ) were called to a meeting with BYUN MIDO and LEE WONCHUL. with a couple of weeks in for rehearsals and practices, there was a little bit of time before the day of the first showing.
FIRST SHOWING & START OF PRODUCTION
“we know that some of you are excited and nervous about the first showing, but we’re happy to say that everyone has been progressing well. there are some tweaks we’ll have to make here and there but nothing too major for all three of you.” WONCHUL announces the good news about the actors and progress so far.
as mentioned in part 1, the first showing will be on APRIL 29 and happen starting 8PM. due to the production lasting around three months, all of the cast members will be working from MONDAY to SUNDAY, with TUESDAY being their day offs ( the exception is the first week, where they will show every single day to garner some hype towards the musical ). since all three of the actors have major roles, they will not be in EVERY showing to allow them to have rests in between and to accommodate any additional schedules they may have ( especially ones related to the ACTING MISSION ).
PRESS CONFERENCE
on APRIL 29, all of the actors in ‘THE HIDDEN ENEMY MUSICAL’ ( including NPC actors ) will be attending a press conference where they will be performing “THE ENEMY WITHIN” ( which is considered the highlight song in the musical ), “A DANGEROUS GAME” ( ALL ), “THE TRUTH THAT LIES BENEATH” ( AERI’S SOLO ), “A PAST TO HIDE” ( MINKYU’S SOLO ), and “HACKING THE SYSTEM” ( MINJAE’S SOLO ). they will be interviewed by the media, asking various questions regarding their initial thoughts about joining the musical, struggles and hardships they faced while preparing for the musical, what they would like to take away from their character, etc. basically questions related to the actor, the musical, and their character.
the press conference will be happening late in the morning before the first showing happens.
THEATRE+ MAGAZINE
MINKYU, AERI, and MINJAE will appear on the cover and spread of JUNE 2024’s issue of THEATRE+ magazine!
for this pictorial, it will be a mixture of trio, duo, and solo photos of the three actors. to reflect the musical’s characters and the actors, in each of the solo pictorials, there will be background and props representing their character. to get a general idea of how those would look like, here are some keywords associated with the solo photos:
MINKYU: green and black attire and color scheme, fake money ( either on the walls or as a prop; representing his profession )
AERI: brown and white attire and color scheme, notepads and typewriter ( representing her profession )
MINJAE: blue and grey attire and color scheme, computers and mazes ( representing his profession and his past )
afterwards, the three of them will sit down to film and do solo interviews about their thoughts regarding the musical and meaning of friendship ( to symbolize their characters’ friendship bond ).
LAST SHOWING
on JUNE 28-JUNE 30, everyone in LGC AGENCY ( actors and models ) will be invited to attend the last few showings of the musical ( as long as their schedules permit them to do so ). all three of the actors will be present in those showings and any LGC actors and models who attend the musical will be given a chance to meet up with the cast before and/or after the show is done!
for any of the LGC actors or models who attend these showings and have personal accounts, they are free to post on their instagram their attendance and support for the musical!

expressions.
Being cast in a musical has always felt like a distant dream, an ethereal idea; even now, amid stunt rehearsals and fighting training, it still seems to elude Minkyu's grasp. The reality of landing a lead role has yet to fully settle in, especially when he finds himself working alongside someone he's long admired, adding another layer of surrealism to the experience.
As he observes his reflection in the mirror, a furrow forms on his brow, betraying his internal contemplation. "Do you have any tips for appearing more natural in fight scenes?" he asks @lgcaeri, his tone tinged with earnestness, a hint of self-doubt. Despite feeling somewhat embarrassed to ask, Minkyu recognises the importance of mastering facial expressions for the sake of his performance.

THEATRE+ MAGAZINE INTERVIEW : solo.
Interviews have never been something Minkyu dreaded. On the contrary, he has always looked forward to them. For him, interviews are more than just a series of questions and answers; they are an opportunity to express his thoughts and feelings, to share his perspective, and to reveal more of his authentic self to the world outside. Standing across from the woman designated to interview him, he greets her and the viewers with a warm smile, and they exchange the customary formalities and greetings. The first question comes swiftly;
What was your initial reaction when you found out that you would be a part of this musical?
"Ahhh! You can't believe the face I made when I was told I scored a lead role in the musical!" He begins, laughter joining his words. "It's always been my biggest dream to become a musical actor and to be part of a musical, so this was all a real dream come true. Couldn't believe it at first, but I've been filled with overwhelming excitement and gratitude to be part of it. Especially with this talented and lovely cast. It's so much fun and I get to learn a lot; it's exactly how I imagined it and much more."
How would you define friendship?
He ponders for a moment, shifting his lips from left to right. "I think, in essence, friendship is about being there for each other, offering a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, and a hand to hold. It's about sharing experiences, inside jokes, and cherished memories that strengthen the connection over time." He smiles. "For me, a friend is, above all, someone who accepts you for who you are, flaws and all, and encourages you to be the best version of yourself, supporting and uplifting one another through life's highs and lows. That's friendship for me."
In the future, what types of musical roles do you hope to try?
"I aspire to explore a wide range of roles that challenge and inspire me artistically. This includes roles that require me to embody heroic characters known for their courage and virtue, similar to the one I'm portraying right now, as well as roles that allow me to delve into the complexities of portraying compelling villains with depth and authenticity. Each type of role offers a unique opportunity to grow as a performer, pushing boundaries in vocal expression, emotional depth, and dramatic storytelling and I aim to keep improving in every department." He makes sure to add natural pauses to his answer. "Ultimately, my goal is to engage audiences with performances that are musically captivating and rich in character development and narrative impact."
Please give a short message to the viewers!
He turns his attention to the camera, lifting both hands to wave, teeth showing through his smile. "Hi, everyone. Cho Minkyu here! I'm really excited about our upcoming musical: The Hidden Enemyl! We've got a fantastic mix of roles lined up—from heroes with all their courage and heart to villains with their fascinating complexities, with a lot of stunts, wonderful songs and awesome performances. It's going to be a journey filled with powerful music and gripping storytelling. We can't wait to see you there in the audience, sharing in the magic with us. It's going to be a blast, I can promise that!"

PROJECT S ( PART 1 )
SCHEDULE RESTRICTIONS: for reference as to whether your muse is eligible for this event, please click over HERE.
on JANUARY 29, CHO MINKYU, YANG AERI, and YOON MINJAE have been called to a meeting with BYUN MIDO, one of the acting managers, and LEE WONCHUL, one of the employees affiliated with OD MUSICAL COMPANY. MIDO begins handing the three actors their schedules before explaining in detail what PROJECT S ( now officially titled THE HIDDEN ENEMY ).
SCHEDULES
“starting FEBRUARY 5, all of you will be liberated from your usual schedules aside from the voice acting workshops being assigned to most of you. from then until APRIL 27, all of you will be attending workshops and rehearsals to prepare yourself for the roles you are about to take. for this musical, you will be asked to take STAGE FIGHTING workshops on top of the usual musical acting workshops ( singing, dancing, performance, acting, korean ) to help prepare for some of the action scenes in the latter half of the musical. since this is a new musical, all of you will be setting the expectations high for future productions of ‘THE HIDDEN ENEMY’.” MIDO informs the three of them about the workshops and rehearsals.
“then ‘THE HIDDEN ENEMY’ will begin its showings starting from APRIL 29 to JUNE 30, with APRIL 29 being opening day and the time when the famous musical critics from all over korea will attend and give their thoughts about this musical.” WONCHUL adds in later on, emphasizing more on the importance of how opening day is for musical actors.
for reference, Q1 will be focusing more on the WORKSHOPS and REHEARSALS elements, meaning that the actors will have to prepare themselves for APRIL 29, which is considered the opening day. more details about the opening day will be revealed in the second part of this event, which is scheduled to be posted in Q2.
ROLES
based on the headcanon posts in the previous part of the casting call, this is a list of who will be having what role:
CHO MINKYU: HONG CHANYOUNG ( LEAD ROLE )
YANG AERI: RYU HAENA ( MAIN ROLE )
YOON MINJAE: NA JONGSOO ( LEAD ROLE )
congratulations to all three of them for their roles! if you are curious to know the basic details of their characters and storyline, you can check it over here on this DOCUMENT!
as a reminder, just like many musicals, to prevent the actors from overworking ( and in case of sickness ), all of the MAIN and LEAD roles will have understudies for them. in the case of MINKYU, AERI, and MINJAE, this is to ensure that in case they have any important events to attend during Q2, there will be someone there to replace them during the showing. but for the sake of documentation, it’s listed as them being the more significant actors associated with the roles.

THE HIDDEN ENEMY MUSICAL - REFLECTION SOLO.
Minkyu finds himself caught in a whirlwind of emotions, realising just how swiftly time has flown by. It seems like only yesterday when the news of landing a lead role in the upcoming musical filled him with unparalleled joy. Since then, his enthusiasm has only grown, each new experience adding fuel to his passion, each moment a cherished step towards living out his dream.
Seated across from the coach, a warm smile graces Minkyu's lips as he delves into discussing his progress and areas for further growth. "Over these past weeks, I believe I've made significant strides in my stage presence," he begins, his voice carrying the candidness of his convictions.
"Reflecting on my journey from my time with LGC Spring Boys, I've recognised a need to elevate my performance and command the stage, beyond just my prowess in dance. It's been a conscious effort to fill those gaps, to ensure that I captivate the audience's attention in every moment, given the immediacy of live theatre."
He pauses, allowing his words to sink in before continuing. "Moreover, I've also dedicated myself to refining my singing abilities, relishing the opportunity to showcase my vocal talent once more. It's been a rewarding journey, rediscovering the joy of singing on stage."
The coach responds with feedback, and Minkyu proceeds to speak only after he's asked about the areas that need improvement. "While I've seen considerable growth in my dancing since my days with Spring Boys, I recognise that there's still room for improvement," he admits humbly.
"Collaborating closely with the dance coach, I've been tirelessly working to imbue my movements with fluidity and authenticity, striving to move beyond mere choreography to convey genuine emotion and presence."
With a determined glint in his eyes, Minkyu concludes, "With performance day fast approaching, I'm pouring my heart and soul into this, striving to meet not only the audience's expectations but also my own aspirations. I'm committed to delivering a performance worthy of the stage and resonates with all who witness it."

THE HIDDEN ENEMY MUSICAL - REHEARSAL SOLO.
Rehearsing for the musical feels like a world apart from the preparations for a TV show or web series. In this world, Minkyu isn't just memorizing lines but also mastering songs. He quickly comes to appreciate that, although acting for the camera offers its own set of joys, nothing quite matches the adrenaline rush of performing live before an audience.
Time seems to warp in the practice room, with hours slipping by unnoticed, meals forgotten, as Minkyu dedicates himself entirely to perfecting the musical numbers.
It's not just the vocals that demand his attention; facial expressions, gestures, and overall physicality must all synchronize flawlessly to craft the ideal performance. He's perfectly aware of the immediacy and unforgiving nature of live theatre—there are no retakes in front of a live audience if a note falls flat or a move misfires.
To aid his self-improvement, Minkyu begins recording his rehearsals, keen on identifying and correcting any missteps. This self-review process becomes an integral part of his preparation, enabling him to scrutinize his singing and acting through a more critical lens.
He reflects on previous vocal training sessions and the constructive feedback shared by fellow cast members. Armed with their insights and his own relentless drive for perfection, Minkyu is determined to enhance every aspect of his performance.
After numerous attempts and careful review of his recordings, he pinpoints areas for improvement. Drawing on the rich advice and training he's absorbed, Minkyu works tirelessly, iterating on his performance until he achieves a rendition he's completely satisfied with—a testament to his dedication to his craft and the transformative power of live performance.

Minjae had no idea that preparing for a musical would be this tiring. When he was part of Newsies, his rehearsals were nowhere near as intense as the ones for this musical. Though, he was only a chorus member and his role wasn't as important as the one he has now.
The break that they were currently taking now was welcomed. Honestly, Minjae wasn't sure how much more of this he could do this today. Minjae reached for his water and took a sip. He agreed and nodded. ❛ I'm super excited but also super nervous because what if I mess up and hurt you or something goes wrong? Though I know it's unlikely but still. ❜
Minjae's remark provoked an amused laugh from Minkyu's plushlips, and he nodded, a contemplative hum of agreement escaping him soon after; because the countless repetitions of the same scene with identical fighting stunts had blurred together, yet they still lacked the finesse and authenticity they aspired to achieve.
Taking a sip from his uncapped bottle, he used the towel draped around his neck to dab at the sweat forming along his nape. "This is pretty cool, though, isn't it? I mean, we get to do fighting stuff and all in front of a real audience. Makes me feel like the next Bruce Lee or something." His words, though jesting, were accompanied by another laugh, his eyes shimmering with a blend of weariness and exhilaration.

Repetitions and constant rehearsals could be draining but it's important for any actor. It's important to ingrain all your lines, blocking, and everything into your brain so it becomes second nature. Everything had to be perfect for Minjae. This was his first big role since joining Legacy and he wanted everything to go right and smoothly. So these rehearsals were helpful.
Minjae was covered in seat and his hair was drowned. His body ached but he loved it. He smiled up at Minkyu through his hair. ❛ The beginning sounds good. Though I think we both need a break it's as if we've been swimming. ❜ Minjae chuckled.

Minkyu found himself cherishing every moment he spent in her presence, soaking up her wealth of experience, and, above all, he was deeply appreciative of how grounded, humble, and kind she remained despite her illustrious career. He flashed his bright, still boyish grin, giving her a thumbs-up and a cheerful sound that rumbled from the back of his throat.
"Camaraderie! I love that word. It makes me feel like we're the Three Musketeers or something. We've got each other's backs—one for all and all for one!" His grin only widened, accompanied by a delighted laugh that punctuated his words. "I truly believe our team's chemistry will make this musical a resounding success"
Yet, he quickly brought himself back to the present and the seriousness of their training session, a look of surprise crossing his face at her suggestion. "Aerissi playing the villain? Now that's a twist no one saw coming," he jested with a short-lived chuckle. As he spoke, he shifted into position for one of the scenes they were set to perform on stage. "But I'd appreciate that, yeah! I'll do my best to visualize you as one of the henchmen and not the beautiful main character."
“i hope that we’ll avoid making mistakes during the production, especially during the first showing.” aeri stated in agreement to minkyu’s words. she knows that musicals were in a different category compared to dramas and movies, so they didn’t have anything similar to a retake if a mistake were to occur. “but that is one benefit of being a part of a musical. since you work with the cast so often there’s a sense of camaraderie that we’ll try to help each other, even if it means adapting or covering each other’s mistakes.” she said with a smile, hoping it would give minkyu some reassurance.
“hey, you have a better advantage when it comes to fighting compared to me. the only video game i’ve played is pokemon and i don’t think that is in the same realm as the games you’ve mentioned. actually, i don't even know if that would help me with these fight scenes.” she chuckled, revealing the extent of video game knowledge she had. “hmm,” aeri hummed as she tried to think of one of the fight scenes on top of her head. “how about the scene where we’re fighting against the antagonist? although if it’s that scene…” aeri trailed off, realizing it wouldn’t make sense if both of them played their respective characters, so she thought of an idea. “i can pretend to be the villain? or one of the henchman, since we do fight some of them. i remembered some of the stunt choreography one of the henchmen had since i was studying how they do the movements so quickly and naturally.”

Every gesture, every expression, every minute detail had to be perfect, yet imbued with a sense of authenticity that would captivate the audience. This wasn't merely a rehearsal; it was a meticulous crafting of an experience, a live performance where there would be no opportunity for second chances.
As he glanced over to Minjae, a flicker of determination gleamed in Minkyu's eyes, framed by tousled strands of sweat-dampened brown hair. He brushed them aside with a swift motion, revealing a grin that radiated confidence tinged with excitement. "From the beginning?" His voice, though calm, held an undercurrent of anticipation, a silent acknowledgment of the challenge and thrill that awaited them on stage.

It had been some time since Yoon Minjae had done some physical acting. His previous role had been comedy so the last time he could think of was during Bullet Inquiry. Still, even that wasn't as physical as this musical would be. His body ached and his joints pained after each workshop and rehearsal. It reminded him of his trainee days and how he would stay late often working on choreography.
Having done a few rehearsals by now, Minjae's body was adjusting to the pain and each workshop and rehearsal was less painful than the one before. Minjae listened to Minkyu talk about his feelings and how everything was like a dream come true and that echoed his own emotions and thoughts. He smiled brightly as he wiped the sweat off his neck and face. He then nodded. ❛ Ready when you are! ❜ He readied himself to start.

"Ahhh." Minkyu nodded along attentively as Aeri spoke, making affirming sounds to show his genuine engagement with her words rather than mere passive acknowledgment. "Making a mistake seem like part of the choreography," he echoed, mentally noting the idea. "That sounds like something right up my alley." He punctuated his statement with a boyish, somewhat bashful grin, accompanied by a soft chuckle as he rubbed the back of his head. "Though, of course, I hope to avoid making any mistakes altogether. Being my first musical role, I really want to give it my all."
When Aeri mentioned practicing fight scenes, Minkyu already began to eagerly clear the space around them, bubbling with excitement "Sure thing! The only fighting I'm well-versed in is Tekken or Street Fighter, but those are video games." He commented through a grin. and he reasoned that a bit of fun wouldn't hurt anyone. "Let's do this! I think I've got the fighting stunts in my head, just need to make them look natural. Which scene shall we start with?"
“mhmm,” aeri nodded her head, thinking about the last time she’s done a musical and how similar incidents have happened. while most of them have been minor and she could help while she wasn’t the main character in the scene, sometimes she ponders over how she would have handled it if it was different. “i believe that after a certain point, when you know your character so well, you tend to react more to situations based on what the character would do rather than yourself.” she explained, relying on past experiences to support her statement. she then tells minkyu a story that she remembered to this day. “a while back, one of the actors in a musical that i was a part of had accidentally taken the wrong step during a choreography. luckily their reaction seemed quite on point with their character so even if anyone noticed it, they still would think it was part of the script.”
looking back at minkyu, she absorbed the information that was given to her earlier. “but if you find improvisation your strength, then i think this will benefit you if and when the time comes.” aeri gave a hopeful smile while thinking if there was a particular scene they could work on. “perhaps we should work on one of the fight scenes then?” she suggested, hoping that this would help aeri figure out what he was talking about and see what she could advise specifically to him.
