Being intersex, I often grew up feeling less than due to having a body that my peers deemed "different". It was consistent bullying, name-calling and having one gendered feature or another deemed ugly or not correct in some way.
Intersex bodies deserve love and lust, for those who want it. We deserve to be included in positivity and educational posts. But most importantly we deserve to not be instantly devalued for the way we exist. 馃憦

"Trans voices and experiences should be centred in all discussions about our lives and health care. Yet last Monday the peak body for psychiatry, the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), platformed an anti-trans lobby group at their annual conference. During their session the group promoted discredited studies and called on attendees to support their campaign to restrict access to gender-affirming care in Australia.聽 This is outrageous and a clear violation of RANZCP鈥檚 own commitments in support of the trans community and our access to gender-affirming care. That鈥檚 why we are launching a campaign to demand that RANZCP explain why the session was allowed to go ahead, and make a public commitment to ban anti-trans lobby groups from any future events.
But to put real pressure on RANZCP we need your support. We need to raise $100,000 by June 30th to fund our work for the next year, so we can run urgent campaigns to fight for trans justice.
Over the coming weeks we will be mobilising and supporting members of the College, medical students, and community members to call on RANZCP to live up to their own values.聽
Together, we will protect trans health care from the influence of the anti-trans lobby.聽
The organisation that RANZCP platformed was the Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine (SEGM). SEGM supports pathologising theories about trans people that are not recognised by any major Australian medical organisation, do not have collaborative relationships with any major LGBTSBQIA+ representative body in Australia, and have been critical of protecting trans people under bans on conversion practices.
A number of SEGM members served as advisors on the UK鈥檚 flawed Cass Review, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis even appointed a past SEGM member, Patrick Hunter, to the Florida Board of Medicine - a state that has since banned gender-affirming care for minors and adults. This is their game plan.聽
If we allow anti-trans organisations to build their power and influence they could weaponise health organisations like RANZCP against our community, banning our access to care and stripping away our right to bodily autonomy. We can鈥檛 let that happen.
Psychiatry has always had a tense relationship with the LGBTSBQIA+ community because of the ways in which sexual and gender diversity has been pathologised.聽
However, RANZCP has worked hard to rebuild trust. They have made statements in support of the trans community, supported non-discriminatory treatment of the LGBTSBQIA+ community, and even made a submission to the Australian Human Rights Commission about the emerging threats to trans and gender diverse people.
That'ts why the choice to platform SEGM is so shockingly hypocritical.聽
Together, we will show RANZCP leadership that platforming groups like SEGM puts the credibility, integrity, and reputation of the College at risk.
We already have a lot of support. On the morning of the conference we organised a snap rally. Braving the -1潞c Canberra temperatures we handed out more than 400 flyers to attendees and had many great conversations. A number of RANZCP鈥檚 senior members also came out to talk with us and support the protests.
Prior to the conference a number of community groups, medical organisations, and experts raised grave concerns about SEGM鈥檚 involvement in the conference. This included a letter signed by 50 psychiatrists and registrars.聽
Now we are now preparing to turn up the heat. We will be putting pressure on RANZCP from both within the College and outside it, to get them to publicly commit to not platform anti-trans lobby groups at future events. But to make these plans a reality we need your support.
Help stop the anti-trans lobby by chipping in to support our work.聽
We know that times are tough so whatever you can contribute is much appreciated. Every little bit helps.
We will keep you updated as we push forward with this campaign.聽
Trans health belongs in trans hands and we will fight for our right to have power over the decisions that affect our lives and health care.
In solidarity for trans justice."

[ID: A flag - a yellow, white and yellow stripe. In the centre is a purple orchid with a yellow centre. End ID]
Favoric - a label for intersex loving intersex folks. Favoric is a sexual/romantic orientation for any intersex person attracted to other intersex people. This may be a strict attraction, a preference or to acknowledge attraction of fellow intersex people.
Also referred to as ix4ix.
The flag is inspired by other attraction labels (such as sapphic). The term "favoric" comes from the intersex Roman philosopher, Favorinus.
The yellow of the flag represents intersex people, intersex joy and intersex celebration. The white represents unique experiences with attraction and sexuality, due to being intersex. The purple orchid represent the intersex community and the flower language meaning of orchid - love, luxury, beauty and strength.
This label was created by me, flag created by @edwardallenpoe

my lil contribution to intentional nonbinary peoples day 馃鉁笍
[ID: A swirly background with the flag colours of the nonbinary flag - yellow, white, purple and black - as the background to all slides. Purple text reads; What even is... cisgender nonbinary? Background by xrainestormx (pinterest).
The Basics. Cisgender Nonbinary isn't the most well-known identity, so it's not a shock that many people have no idea what this label means, or how a person could be cisgender and nonbinary - especially since transgender nonbinary is a far more common identity.
Gender Neutral Parenting. Overtime, the idea of raising your children outside of a gendered environment - including not labelling them as male or female and not using gendered pronouns - has gotten more popular, especially amongst gender diverse parents. These children, raised with no gender, are now growing up and finding themselves in a unique position - cisgender nonbinarism!!
Assigned Not-Your-Business At Birth. For some people, they view their assigned gender as irrelevant. They are nonbinary because they always have been, regardless of assigned sex or gender they were raised as. Identifying as transgender may not feel right, because it feels less like transitioning and more like... existing how they always have.
Intersex Nonbinaries. While the idea that intersex people are "cis nonbinary" is a misconception - some intersex people do identify this way. Due to their intersex variation, identity, or whatever reason they may have, they view their sex as nonbinary and therefore cisgender nonbinary feels most comfortable.
CisTrans and Unlabelled. Not every nonbinary person with fit conveniently into the cis or trans boxes. Some will feel their identify lays somewhere outside these two boxes, or mixes within it. CisTrans is an identity slowly clawing its way into common knowledge, as are unlabelled nonbinary folk.
Respect Cisgender Nonbinary People. End ID]

happy ply visibility day 馃┓馃挌馃挋
[ID: A repeating heart with the colours of the polysexual flag - bright pink, lime green and bright blue - is the background to all slides. Pink text reads; What even is... polysexual polyromantic? Background by fvckingkaachann (pinterest).
Visibility Day. The 26th of July is Polysexual and Polyromantic day of visibility, but what is polysexual polyromantic? For the simplicity of this post, polysexual polyromantic is going to be shortened down to ply, as it is sometimes known as.
The Basics. Ply is a romantic oritenation/sexuality that fulls under the mspec (or multisexual) umbrella. Some other terms you may know from this umbrella are bi, pan and omni. While these identities overlap in many ways, the distinctions can be important to those identifying with the labels.
The Basics (cont.). Ply is an orientation where a person is attracted to more than one gender, but isn't attracted to *all* genders. This can mean attraction to just two genders, attraction to a few specific genders, attraction to all genders but one, or any combination that fits under 2+ but not any/all.
Mix Ups. This sexuality often gets mixed up with a couple others - pans, bis, omnis and polyams - but there's a distinction between each. Both omni and pan are usually defined as attraction to any and all genders, something ply is not, and while bi and ply have very similair definitions, and bi people may "technically" fit the ply label of vice versa, bi can also be seen as attraction to all, or is seen as more of an umbrella term.
Ply vs. Polyam. Polyamory is an entirely different identity, that doesn't exactly describe attraction, but describes relationship set up or dynamic. Polyamorous people seek, are in or are comfortable with multiple relationships, of whatever variety, co-existing. While ply people can be polyam, they aren't the same identity.
Moving Forward. Ply can be a fairly unheard of and underrepresented identity, but it's an important one. Many myths insist ply is a useless or even biphobic identity, but it's existance doesn't take away from bisexuality - it doesn't even need to be tied to it at all!! And the people identifying with it find it useful and comfortable, which should be enough for it to deserve respect and visibility.
Respect polyromantics and polysexuals.
All Queer Identities Deserve Representation.
Happy Polyromantic + Polysexual Visibility Day. End ID]
