In todays dnd session, our DM dropped some sick as fuck lore on a undead leviathan deity whose corpse was a temple in a merperson village and also my warlock accepted her as her 2nd patron deity!

split custody. Surely nothing will go wrong.

theres another game of disaster party in the works from me and i'd like you all to see some of my character design notes and ideas

Hydrangea is having the worst time in our latest dnd session bc the other hottest person in the party (who she is begrudgingly into) said she wouldnt fuck her. Not bcs Hydes isnt hot but bcs she's too unhinged

So of courses Hydrangea had a crisis about it bcs for once in her life her hotness isnt enough to triumph everything else about her.

Next session they'll have to take the magic mirror away from her bcs shell be texting all her exes to cope

one stat i have a huge bias for is charisma. All my characters have charisma as their highest stat but for each of them ive translated it in a different way.

Hart is my anxious himbo elven paladin. His charm is in his genuine and earnest personality. Its not for everyone but it makes people have a soft spot for him.

Hydrangea is my witchy human alchemist. I like to describe her as what would happen if a mad scientist was crossed with a hedonistic socialite. She is hot as hell and WILL use it against you to get her way (cha in persuasion).

Winnie is my ill-tempered human warlock with an eldrtich patron. Shes spooky and offputting. Her charisma is all in intimidation and persuasion and tht is a threat.

Usually if i get too many shitty numbers or the numbers are too shitty ill reroll them but i actually like having a couple of sucky stats. It helps me figure out my characters personality and behaviour.

For example the character im currently rolling has an 8 dex, so im going to make her clumsy.

Her wisdom is 18 and her intelligence is 8 so im translating that as her being very emotionally intelligent and good at assessing social situations but when it comes to studying and books? Knowing things about the world? Not very cluey.

i love when i roll a new charcter for dnd and half the rolls are excellent and the other half are bad

I'm going to be GMing another game of Disaster Party in *checks watch* 2 months time probably but each time im bored at work i do a little bit of prep for it

Im currently calling it 🦇✨ ~Disaster Vampires~✨🦇

(Although it will include werewolves too)

I made a moodboard so my players can get a taste of the sort of setting the game will be in. We usually only do typical anachronistic fantasy dnd stuff but i wanted a more dark urban fantasy setting (think vampire the masquerade). It's going to still be light-hearted though because....well its us playing it haha

I also have the perfect soundtrack for it

I recently GMed a game made by my friend Hamish called Disaster Party and man....it really is a whole other world when you play a game that perfectly compliments your DMing style.

I love making NPCs for the players to meet and interact with. And when it comes to plot, i like to have a basic idea of how things will go but also leave things open enough so that i can improv+change stuff as the RP requires. Disaster Party really is suited for all of those.

Also its an excuse to have a (murder) mystery fancy party and i love that!

Anyway in other news, im starting to develop another disaster party game.

So far we've had:

Disaster party Disaster party 2: 2 disaster 2 party (aka 2d2p) Disaster party 3: Disaster Vampires and now im preparing Disaster party 4: Hunting 4 disaster

Still early stages, but i got a lot of the basics down. The gist of the plot and the look+personality for most of the npcs. I owe someone an art trade but after that im working on npc portraits. Don't think we'll be able to actually play it for at least a month so i don't want to get ahead of myself but also i genuinely love chipping away at disaster party prep. It's a fun project!

In dnd today one of the players said "Hey Boss" and i thought she was talking to me, the DM, but no she was talking to my npc, the person that actually hired their characters.

im playing dnd and were doing a very high stakes eg+spoon race and i was a forgetful clown and wasnt adding my proficiency in my dex saving for half the session

My character is using mage hand to keep the egg on the spoon so i dont need to roll anymore. Yes she is cheating but the announcers said WE couldn't touch our eggs, not disembodied magical hands

anyway stay tuned as to whether or not i get disqualified!

In dnd,our monk has a crush on my paladin and each time I remember I laugh bcs

1)she’s socially awkward and not a feelings type of person so she doesn’t even realise what she’s experiencing is a crush

2)she literally chose THE worst person to crush on bcs my paladin is dense and doesn’t rly think of himself highly so it would literally need to be spelled out for him

3)I’m not personally interested in rp-ing romance but BOY am I enjoying seeing these 2 interact. They can be so sweet but mostly they’re disasters

our dnd game is going to have a little intermission session where we play different characters at a fancy party that turns disastrous and im so HYPED!!! About it!!

in good society each character has a certain role and mine is Meddler. Which turned out rly good for me personally bcs my character is connected in some way or another to all the rest of the PCs and to at least 3 npcs

One character is my ex friend whose engagement i ruined, another pc is said ex-friend's crush, another pc is my new bff who wants to disinherit her cousin which is great for me bcs i also want to disinherit my sister. Oh and speaking of sisters, another pc is my future brother in law who secretly wants out of marrying her (he is only engaged to her bcs his family is broke)

Anyway if you want to play a Jane Austen-esque game thats all about the rp and the drama where you can weave your webs and starts rumours, i highly recommend good society

just thinking about how when planning disaster party 2, it took me soooo long to iron out all the plot bullshit of who does what and when and why exactly and why now at this party etc etc whereas with disaster party 3, within half an hour i was like "ok the disaster is X and is caused by person Y bcs of Z"

i may slowly, eventually, soon, start drawing character portraits and floor plans
