so !! a fave updated 3x in a span of 24 hours after a hiatus and proceeded to give me severe brainworms. it made me want to attempt to draw danny’s look in it as well as a scene from the newest chapter. so, here we are! doodles galore

Crackling Finale

A new chapter has dropped and ended with a bang! The rematch felt like an anime fight! Sadly the scene fades to black after Superman saw a scythe so I added a little bit to it. I imagined the final attack looked like one of the ultimate jutsus from the " Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm" games and wanted to replicate the feeling.

( I don`t know how to make singed clothing in Blender without destorying the topology or creating clipping issues, so just imagine Superman looks a little burned here.)

I binge read lex luthor's ascent from supervillainy to fatherhood by @xmarksthespotonthemilkyway over the weekend and the work is a roller coaster of emotions! I was inspired to draw the final scene of chapter 37 from Supermans POV.

In the video I tried to animate some attacks from chapter 36 in 3d. Emphasis on "tried" because it looks super janky. I wanted to animate the ice attack too but the wail has given me enough of a headache I'm not in the mood anymore.

Anyway this fic is an absolutely thrilling read and I'm looking forward what happens next!

Chapter 49 from lex luthor's ascent from supervillainy to fatherhood by @halfagone

I animated the identity reveal scene in 3d. Maybe I missed it but I didn't find a description of Danny's school uniform? I settled with default look with a red jacket because I think it's a nice contrast to the background.

Also I'm not that informed about all the different outfits of the bat family. This is the outfit I have seen the most while I was searching for references for Cassandra's outfit. The same for the "Bat Plane".

I was contemplating if I should also animate the attack scene but I think that would take another week or two and that would be too much.

That was a lovely scene. Just two superhuman boys racing around the world. If I understand it correctly Danny has a new Phantom outfit in this scene or something? There was not much details how exactly it looks like so I used the Phantom suit I modelled for this fic as a reference.

Chapter 62

This is a quick mock-up of blackhole!Danny in space. I personally find it difficult to visualize a black hole and its distortion in my head so I made this in Blender to help me with that. I also used the Phantom model to see him better. While I was doing this I wondered if Danny can use telepathy in this fic? Because how did he and Green Lantern speak to each other in the vacuum of space?
