I mean it has to be Hermes. It literally has to be Hermes for the speedsters. Like, maybe we throw in a Roman twist and say Mercury every once in a while, but that's just gotta be the answer.

Jay literally wears Hermes' helmet. Max named himself after Mercury. Barry wears Hermes' winged shoes and has wings on his head. Same with Wally. Jay is also literally given Hermes'/Mercury's powers on Earth-2.

And it makes sense, it really does. God of travellers? Check. The winged aesthetic? Check. God of messengers? Check! God of tricksters, liars and thieves? Look, the speedsters are all of the above just in a VERY chaotic good way. They don't rob people but also when Wally found out that the museum had the bones of a fallen soldier from another country without said countries permission or consent? HE STOLE THEM BACK. Bart has absolutely no qualms taking things, Max has been a thief in the past, Jay and Barry work by pirate rules aka 'if I defeat you, I get your stuff', ect. They don't do armed robbery and they don't like stealing from random citizens, but bad guys are free game.

Iris I have to go on the nose and say Iris because Iris is the goddess of messengers and rainbows, and Iris is literally a reporter? So her whole thing is spreading information? While looking stunning.

Linda is an Athena kid 125%. Linda writes books, she was a kickass investigative reporter, she went to med school, she knows more about speedster biology and how it works than literally anyone else in her home dimension, she regularly fights aliens with no powers and just whatever weapons she finds laying around. Linda is intelligent, she's cunning and witty and she will cut a bitch.

Joan is a Hestia kid. Just... family, love, warmth. Need I say more?

As for the Titans... well, Donna is already taken care of. Garth... is technically also taken care of I think?? Atlanteans exist in Greek mythology so Garth is just the same I think. Roy... fuck it, Ares. I said what I said come at me bro. For Dick I would want to go with a minor god or goddess, I like the idea of him being a child of Psyche (Goddess of the human soul) because he is very human and he understands people on a level that might be considered supernatural. Lilith would be the oracle. Karen would be a child of Hephaestus and Mal would 100% just be a guy who can see through the mist and has a shield.

Gar is the last son of Pan because that's cool AF. Raven would be the daughter of Tartarus I think. Vic would be a son of Apollo. I know it's really easy to go for Hephaestus for Vic but honestly, the key part of Vic's story to me isn't that he's a cyborg, it's that he's human. He's a survivor, who, against all odds, received bat shit crazy medical treatment from his father and survived a fatal accident. I like the idea that Apollo saw a guy doing crazy stuff to advance medical science and was like 'Hey there 😉😉😉😉'. Also pre accident Vic was a football player which has a lot to do with aim, so idk, I just like it. Starfire would be a demigod child of the sun deity on her home planet.

For Young Justice, Cassie and Bart are already covered. Kon would be a legacy of Nemesis (Lex) and a legacy of a deity from Krypton. Cissie would be a daughter of Ares and a legacy of Apollo. Greta would be a child of Morpheus. Tim would be the son of Lachesis. Slobo is Slobo. Anita.... Tbh I want to say she's a legacy of Aphrodite? Love is a huge part of her backstory and I dislike giving the non powered characters godly parentage that explains away their abilities. They worked hard for those skills!

Ok so how about some mer!bruce? most of the ideas are courtesy of @ivebeenghosting but they were kind enough to share them with me!

• Alfred is human and found Bruce clinging to his dead merparents on a beach. They were killed by poachers who were after their scales (very sought after in jewelry and cosmetics). He raised him and kept him safe and hidden and is basically the granpa of Bruce's brood.

• It all came crashing down when this guy who moved in the village only a few years ago came into town with his truck full of Bruce's merbabies, buying ALL the ice cream stocks of the local supermarket and going to the vet with a bloodied Dick (he got injured by yet another of Bruce's potential mate). Alfred is less than pleased.

• I personally would find it hysterical if Alfred can understand merlanguage perfectly (which consists of chirps, shrill sounds and screams) and the mers seem to understand him perfectly despite the fact he only speaks English. This is never addressed by anyone nor by the story.

• Lex and Clark are exes and have a son together (Connor). They worked together, Clark was a marine biologist but Lex got greedy and started his own lucrative but deeply unethical sea park thanks to Clark's research. The divorce got messy. Clark was ruined and disgraced as an academic while Lex got Connor's custody and won't let him see him.

• The merbabies refer to ice cream as the "yummy cream" in their merlanguage.

• Connor comes across a tiktok of a local showing a blurry pic of a guy with a truck full of things that looks like kids and Connor goes "wait....DAD?!" and proceeds to run away from home to go to the town and try and find out where his dad lives.

• He accidentally wanders into the cavern creek near Clark's house where Bruce and his brood now live. Connor finds himself face to face with a whole gang of mers, which is not good since he knows mermaids are extremely dangerous and territorial, especially when they are raising youngsters. Bruce is hissing, claws and sharp teeth out before he starts sniffing and....wait.....smell familiar.....smell like.....Clark????????

• Clark comes as he usually does to check on the mers and feed them his fattest catches to find his estranged son being half-drowned and licked by Bruce and his babies.

• Connor later asks him if Bruce is his new stepdad. Clark almost dies choking on his coffee. Alfred sternly denies. Bruce is bringing fish to Clark like he's his mate.

Superman will live much longer than humans, right? Well, what if he eventually becomes a recluse in his fortress of solitude. Everyone he has ever cared about is gone now. Especially someone he loved.

Bruce.

He couldn't bear to lose him. Centuries later thinking about his death still hurts like it happened yesterday. So Clark had an AI built. He used footage and voice samples of Bruce. And there he was now, with his eternal frown, his blue eyes looking at him. He manages the Fortress. Sometimes...Sometimes Clark is painfully reminded that this Bruce is not his Bruce, that he is nothing more than a hologram and unfeeling lines of code. Sometimes he reaches out to touch his face, and his hand goes through because Bruce has been gone for centuries and this one is just a hologram, a memory of a distant past now reduced to dust. Clark keeps preciously all the footage he gathered of Bruce, you know. Sometimes....sometimes he just wants to hear his voice. To see him like he was there. Clark wished he could be with him. He has a lot of objects that were owned by Bruce too. He even recreated the Batcave down to the very last detail. He kept all of Bruce's batsuits. Clark even preserved the portrait of Bruce's parents because he knew it was important for him. He takes care of it. He also takes care of Bruce and his parents' graves, because he knows Bruce wouldn't want their graves to disappear. Every year on Bruce's death anniversary he comes put flowers on his grave. It's the only day in the year that he comes out of the fortress nowadays.

What if Clark has to save the world again, but....he doesn't want to. What's the use? The man he loves died a long time ago. And then there is Owlman. And this young man, this wannabe hero, reminds him so much of Bruce. Of his compassion, his need for justice, his stubborness. He peeked under the cowl and his eyes are as blue as the sky. Just slighter darker than Bruce's. It's painful. It is like Bruce's ghost has come back to haunt him.

Sumerians 21st century BC) The Code of Ur-Nammu created by Ur-Nammu of Ur (21s century BC) is the oldest known code of law which is only partly preserved. The laws were inscribed on a clay tablet in Sumerian language and arranged in casuistic form, a pattern in which a crime is followed by punishment which was also the basis of nearly all later codes of law including the Code of Hammurabi. W1/4 Definitely have to do cardio, found some cool balance videos. Why doesn’t anyone say Frinight? Some lite sessions I’ve dropped or pulled a plate, some heavy sessions I’ve added one. Seems okay, focusing on contraction the past weeks has improved. Earache my eye.

W2/4 Running on elliptical 60 revolutions activates quads and core, but has altered my diet drastically. Drive low, in starting to improve cardio by doing any, legs on catchup and mind checked out, abs pissed, goal up it by 10 to 100 then minutes. Speed saves quads but ads hunger, should get a good take to it eventually, or sweat trying.

W3/4 The goals and risks of fad/crash diets in a race to lose weight, catch and release. The dangers of certain goals are physical and mentally exhausting, risk vs reward. The process of actions gives experience to aid decision and familiarity with old fears as new instinct takes you to new challenges much harder than you thought you could do. You don’t have to do it alone, but you don’t have to attack yourself either, nerves. New train, new nerve.

W4/4 Stimulants in the slow-twitch larger muscles causes increased signaling and response time, albeit somewhat artificially or induced, it can also be interpreted as additional sensitivity, the difference b/w working out or just sweating, as muscle is built with resistance, adverse weight, contrapose isometrics, and to some extent the flex of posing muscles and concentric tension, example being glutes are strong but exhaust, a runner trades size for endurance, but with stimulants in regards to muscle they exhaust before muscle memory is trained, leaving a shitty workout and an addiction to caffeine. I’m no expert, and advise against the gas station stims at least, and from the cold can walk the coffee line with the patience of winter people. A difference, it was.

What is a History Hot Take you would want non informed people to know? (If you want to ramble about history go for it) Have a good day ^_^

Hey! Thank you for this ask this is very sweet. I have a lot of historical hot takes from basically every period of human history (from the Roman demonization of Cleopatra, to the innocence of Marie Antoinette who was just a girl, to my qualms about the Bolshevik revolution, etc)

Since I just listen to a podcast about him I would like to educate more people on Tiberius Gracchus. I’ll just give a summary but would encourage people to read up on him because his plight is just really interesting.

To put it simply Tiberius was the OG socialist. He attempted to do a lot of what Julius Caesar actually achieved. Basically as he was going through the countryside, he realized that farmers were no longer working the lands.

Because of all the wars the Roman fought, farmers were called to the front lines and while they were gone their lands were sold and seized. They couldn’t get it back because they couldn’t afford it and their only possible option would be to work the land as indentured servants - but the landowners preferred free slave labor anyways. Rich men (many of them senators) would mostly employ slaves to work the lands that were previously owned by pleb farmers who risked their lives in battle for Rome.

They’re left no choice but to move to the city to find jobs and often live in poverty. Tiberius, from a noble and well-to-do family, becomes tribune of the plebs and decides something must be done. He tries to pass the Lex Sempronia Agraria. Basically, anyone that owns more than 125 hectares must give the rest to the state who would then divide that land amongst the people.

He amassed a large public following. Senators were terrified of his rise to power. He was unifying the large population of plebs against them. They vastly outnumbered the rich. They spread propaganda that he wanted to make himself king - a grand offense for the Romans. Senators beat him to death because he threatened their livelihood in the public forum - which was considered sacred and where no one could be harmed. Tribunes were also supposed to be untouchable. This breached both these rules. The public rioted because he was the first and only person in power who spoke out for them. His brother, Gaius, who succeeded him suffered the same brutal fate. This was the first outbreak of civil strike and rebellion in Rome.

TLDR: the interesting lesson here is that capitalism has always led to the same shit. The moment someone threatens “corporations” (in this case, wealthy land owning aristocracy) fiscal interests, they are villainized, painted as radicals who want to change the status quo, take control, and threaten our way of life. And they’re all murdered for it. This was true then, and still is today.

22. Do any of your characters have someone named after them? Or are they named after someone else? Moira, Rukmani, Finn, Hitomi and Ruaidhrí are all named directly after people. Elise’s name is the French version of her mother’s. Alex is technically named after Alexander the Great.

50. Are any of your characters Good Dads ™? This is kind of complicated because they’re not all MY OCs, just my take on canon characters. Redeye and Melkor are the best of the dads (though I’d argue the main strike against the latter is who he agreed to have a child).  I’d argue Mason is, in many ways, a good dad, too, though he’s a way worse person and a bit scatterbrained/messy with it all. Gage is more flawed and emotionally closed off, I think, but he still connects with his kids, pays attention to them and makes sure to teach them skills necessary to survival. Overall, he’s doing fairly well. I have a character who is set to ultimately become a dad and be the best of all of them.

101. Which character is The Most dramatic? Elise. Hands down.

107. Do any of your characters feel confined by their lives and the expectations placed upon them? Honestly? I’m pretty sure all of them do to some extent, even if the expectations are not outright stated. Alex, Elise and Rukmani probably suffer the most from it because they’ve been flat out told what’s expected of them and their parents aren’t the yielding kind.

125. Who is your token cis, straight, (optional: white) male? Alex.

133. Have any of your characters ever been caught in a fire or explosion? Rukmani and Ahmya both have.

156: Were/Are any of your characters under less pressure and fewer expectations than their siblings? Ahaana has WAY less expected of her than Rukmani.

163: Are any of your characters autistic? (If so, do they have special interests and what are they?) None are said to be autistic in the story just because I’m not sure that terminology would be widely used or known in the Fallout universe, but Alex is and his special interests are guns (from a purely maintenance/technical side) and collecting things like stamps. I’ve had other people tell me that other characters resonate as autistic to them and I think that’s super neat, too.
