ok so it did turn into a whole ritual. Leviathan produced one or the strangest candle melts I’ve ever gotten. Lucifer was very pleased.

🌛 Offerings while being a witch in hiding 🌜

So, I talked before that my family isn't very accepting of my practice, or better yet, they don't know I practice it at all because they have a very strong opinion about every religion that doesn't follow the Abrahamic god. So, as a closeted witch, here's some ways I do devotional acts to my deities:

★* Writing a letter: I like to write for them, telling them about my day, my thoughts, thanking them for something, sometimes I literally just yap to them about random things, really. It doesn't have to be something extravagant, it can be simple and quick to write. And then, I burn it.

★* Have a scented candle: I keep a scented candle of their choice for them, a myrrh candle for Lucifer and a lavander candle for Leviathan. If I can't lit up their usual candles due to a busy schedule or because my parents are at home, I usually lit up their scented candle. It's only a candle, right? Nothing anyone would be suspicious and I can talk to it or do something with it. Just the other day, I light up Lucifer's candle and we watched a movie (on a side note: it was a very boring movie for me buuuut I think he liked)

★* Studying about them: Study their history, their myths, everything you can get your little hands on. Many facts have been erased, altered through the years, in these cases, you can always ask your gods directly what you want to know.

★* Drawing for them: I may not be the best artist but I like to draw silly things for them. It's very funny and laughter inducing, even more if their candle is lit. So go, draw something silly even if you don’t like it. I'm sure they'll love it.

★* Write for them: Poetry, poems, a little story, write something for them. I, particularly, am not that good writing devotional poetry, my poems are more on the gorey, melancholic side, so this is something I'm currently working on. So far.... I only wrote my own prayers for Leviathan and I'm finishing another for Lucifer.

★* Buying devotional things for them: Sometimes, as an offering, you can buy things for them as a devotional act, such as a devotional ring, a necklace, a plushy toy, anything. Or you can ask them what they want. For example: I have both a snake ring that I wear for as a devotional piece for Lucifer as I have his sigil that I wear constantly. And, as for Leviathan, I have a moon themed notebook that I use for shadow work and a pair of moon earrings (he wanted moon themed things).

★* Talking / praying on your thoughts: I think we all do this???? But I'm putting this here anyway, so yknow when life gets busier and things happen? Talk to your deities in your thoughts as you normally would to your candle, tell them everything that is on your mind, tell them your troubles and your happiness, don't be afraid to be annoying. And before going to sleep, right after waking up, pray for them.

- A lesson from Lord Leviathan -

i’ve always disliked the idea of being just average, blending in with the crowd and being “mid”, but Lord Leviathan taught me that perfection is unattainable as a human. striving for it can only lead to setting impossible standards, pushing yourself to limits that even if reached will never bring true satisfaction. to me, perfection exists only in higher plans of existence, for example the pure 5th dimension, where we are free from the confines of our bodies and minds. there, detached from thought and limiting beliefs, we can experience true freedom. so the key is to accept your own humanity and not exhaust yourself chasing an ideal. and most important (he highlighted this) if you can love yourself, that’s more than enough.

Oh wow, I've had leviathan appear rather similarly!

The only differences really being front legs and the horns!

Demons appear different to every Practitioner though so it's interesting to actually find similarities.

Leviathan is described as a primordial serpent, found in many ancient myths of the Middle East. The most famous being Tiamat, for example. Unlike many other entities, he does not appear in any known grimoire, but in the Bible itself.

Isaiah 27: Leviathan is described as a sea serpent, long, strong, twisted and swift.

Job 41: Leviathan is described as a monster with a mouth that spews flames, a nose that smokes, a breath that kindles fire, and strength in its neck.

Psalm 104: Leviathan is described as a sea monster that plays in the sea.

In Jewish mythology, YHWH created two Leviathans, one male and the other female, as a way of demonstrating his power. However, he killed the female one in fear of human extinction if the Leviathans reproduced. For this reason, for many practitioners, Leviathan can choose to appear as either a man (like in my case) or a woman, sometimes changing between both forms. His name comes from the Hebrew Livyatan which means to twist, turn or coil.

Signs can vary. For me, he simply appeared in a dream, so I didn't have many signs.

But it is common to think about the sea or feel like being in the water, dreaming about the sea, seeing his sigil (Leviathan cross) everywhere, seeing snake and/or ouroborus themed objects, him visiting your dreams.

Leviathan's most known sigil, well known as the "Satanic Cross" or the Brimstone symbol, it represents absolute balance. The two bars at the top of the cross symbolize double protection and the balance between the masculine and the feminine. The lower part shows the symbol of infinity, which symbolizes the eternal balance of the universe, of life and death, eternity and/or a double ouroborus that symbolizes the balance between the spiritual and the material.

Another fresh new OC, in the form of a lovekid lol -- This is Khalid, my shark-like leviathan deity / merman character who I jointed created with Jinkz.

In simplest terms, Khalid is the future son of our characters Dakarai & Marielle. By virtue, he'd technically be a Genshin OC (vishap-oceanid hybrid -- think bathysmal vishaps). But we adapt all our OCs and OTP into AUs -- including DEITIES Project, where he's a leviathan like his mom.

He also has a not-so-secret childhood crush on Amari, IndraNakia's [future] daughter. Understandably, Indra is a protective father... but it works out and Khalid and Amari eventually form a cute couple -- and a cute ship name, "Khalamari." More details can be found on Bluesky!

General things the Emperor Likes :

Some things I've found Lord Leviathan likes are water, doing your shadow work, meditating with him, taking showers or baths as an offering to him, dark chocolate, letting yourself feel your emotions freely and not bottling them up, whiskey, ocean scented things, blue and black candles, lavender and eucalyptus to name a few. The list goes on...

Music :

Now for music in my experience he mostly vibes with classical music and music that's more calm and not very loud. He also likes music that can help you express your emotions through whether it's loud or not.

My experience :

I've had very good experiences working with him so far. He's always here when I need him and he always has an eye on me. He's a very supportive and non-judgemental deity. He's very wise and any advise given from him is to be taken seriously, he's always 10 steps ahead. He's very reserved and quiet most of the time and he likes communicating through divination. His energy is VERY heavy and it can't be ignored. While working with him you probably won't avoid doing your shadow work at some point. As an autistic person who's also highly alexithymic he has helped me a whole lot with emotional understanding which I'm very grateful for. He's a deity who'll definitely call you out on your bs and is extremely honest and blunt. He's also great at keeping you grounded.
