💚 World Mental Health Day 💚 As with any posts about mental health, this one comes with a trigger warning ⚠️. ▪️ ▪️ Mental health is so important. If you’re not feeling ok mentally then it can affect your physical health too. I’ve been there. I’ve had my struggles with my own mental health, some of which are ongoing. What I will say is that I am in a much much better place and that I’ve had some amazing support and people around me who have helped me to get to this point. I know there are others that aren’t so lucky and that is something we need to change. ▪️ ▪️ Everyone deserved to feel heard and to feel like they are being taken seriously. If you are a professional and someone comes to you with concerns about their mental health then you need to listen to them. Especially right now when the world is such a mess and in the UK it seems the threat of Lockdown isn’t very far away. Mental health support has never been more important and it’s never been more needed. I’ve read countless posts on social media where people have been dismissed for their concerns and it makes me angry and sad. I appreciate times are hard for everyone currently but for those struggling with their mental health the isolation felt is real and needs to be addressed. ▪️ ▪️ If you are struggling please don’t be afraid to reach out and start a conversation. There are some great services out there such as MIND and Samaritans. The link to the MIND website will be in my bio. Reaching out was the scariest but also the best thing I’ve ever done. I know how hard it is but it is worth it just to get there ball rolling. ▪️ ▪️ Sending all of you love and strength. My inbox is always open for anyone who wants to talk or ask a question. Always.
