23.08. 23:51 | Ilo Pisara vs Santa Fe Raptors 4 - 6
Well, well, well! VETOJA HYVÄT HERRAT! If our shots were a buffet, we’d be the sad table with just a few wilted lettuce leaves. Seventeen shots? That’s not even enough to make a decent highlight reel—more like an “oops” compilation! Let’s break it down: Santa Fe Raptors had 21 chances while we were busy playing hide-and-seek with the puck. Jani Saari was out there scoring three goals but apparently forgot that shooting is part of hockey too; six attempts and only two on target? Come on, buddy! Macho Fantastico did his best impression of an offensive defenseman by racking up four assists and one goal—but those giveaways are starting to look like he’s auditioning for "America's Got Talent" in the wrong category. Teppo Winnipeg showed some promise with solid passes (23!) but let me tell you something: if passing was all it took to win games, I’d have my grandma coaching us from her bingo hall! So here we sit at 4-6 against the Raptors—a scoreline that feels more tragic than watching your favorite sitcom get canceled after one season. Let’s regroup before this becomes our new normal or else we'll need therapy sessions instead of game recaps! Cheers to better days ahead—or at least fewer embarrassing ones! 🥴🏒

Edelgard’s Weird Family History
It’s honestly exasperating talking about Edelgard’s Brady Bunch family but like... let me explain in detail why it irritates me with a comparison to a similar situation in FE Fates. Here’s a small thesis on Garon’s concubines in Fates.
Fates Concubines
“Garon had lots of concubines who were vying for power and his favor. There were many children sired by Garon who lost their lives in various ways, the most notable of which being involved in concubine feuds and murdering one another. Along with this, Xander’s mother Queen Katerina was well loved and respected. Because of this, the second queen, Arete, and her daughter Azura were treated badly by the other concubines and Nohrian aristocracy. All of this was relatively unknown among the Nohrian common folk. The Nohrian siblings’ dynamic and way of life was shaped by these experiences.”
Supporting the Thesis
How do we know the concubines existed? They are confirmed by all of the Nohr siblings.
How do we know they were vying for power? Many of the Nohrian siblings’ supports confirm this, among which are Camilla/Niles and Leo/Elise.
How do we know there were once more siblings and that they lost their lives in various ways? The JP version of Leo/Elise confirms the concubines had their children kill each other, while the Fates drama CDs confirm that other siblings were lost by execution, falling in battle or getting captured by Hoshido.
How do we know that Arete and Azura were mistreated? Azura and the Nohr siblings confirm this, and Azura’s entire personality is a result of people treating her badly during her childhood.
How is this unknown among the common folk? Both Niles (Niles/Camilla) and Laslow (Drama CDs) reveal they never knew that such a thing occurred and react with shock when they learn. Not only that, but the common people and the Nohrian nobility are basically cut off from each other, the former living in an underground city/shutting themselves away and just trying to survive, while the latter lives above ground.
How do we know that these experiences shaped the dynamic of the Nohrian siblings? Many supports and story moments show this. Xander’s denial and inability to question things in fear of risking his family is because of his relationship with Garon and his regret of losing his other siblings. Camilla’s desire for love resulting in her unconditionally giving love to Corrin and her retainers is a result of her mom only loving her as a tool. Leo’s need for affection and validation from the family he has left (specifically from Camilla) is a result of being aware from a young age that he wasn’t loved by his mother. Elise’s pure and innocent outlook contrasts this because her mom was the least involved in the concubine feuds.
There are multiple sources and dialogue in Fates that you can use to support the initial analysis. Let’s try to do the same with Edelgard’s family.
Edelgard’s Family History
“Ionius had many consorts but had married for political reasons. He sired eleven children, his 9th child being Edelgard. Edelgard’s mother was Anselma, who Ionius had met at the officer’s academy on a romantic evening at the Goddess Tower. They fell in love, but Anselma was content with remaining a consort. Then Ionius tried to consolidate power to throne by taking power away from the Seven Noble Houses and consort kin such as Arundel. In the ensuing power struggle, House Hrym was destroyed, leading the other houses as well as Arundel to start an insurrection. During this time, Arundel took Anselma and Edelgard to Faerghus to escape political strife. Edelgard then returns to the Empire and is then experimented on by order of Those Who Slither in the Dark and the Nobles of Adrestia. All of Edelgard’s siblings were crippled by disease, went insane or died. Ionius could do nothing but watch in horror as all of this happened. As a result, Edelgard bore a second Crest and swore to create a world where such meaningless sacrifice is never again sanctioned, for the sake of her family.”
Supporting the Thesis.
Who exactly did Ionius marry for political reasons? Beats me. Why would he have to marry for political reasons as the emperor? Was Ionius unpopular and needed to do something to fix that? I don’t know. Nothing ever clarifies that.
Why does Edelgard say that her father and mother met at the officer’s academy, when it’s noted that Edelgard is the first Hresvelg in ages to attend? Is the word ages being exaggerated here? I don’t know.
Why is Ionius taking power away from consort kin including Arundel when it would no doubt negatively affect the one that he loves, Anselma? I don’t know. Maybe love wasn’t as big of a deal for him as political power was?
Why is only Edelgard noted to be taken away from the Empire’s political problems, and nothing is said of her siblings during this time, even by her? Who knows. Where does Ionius’ wife, the empress, go during all this? Who knows.
Why are the Adrestian nobles ordering experiments to make a stronger emperor when they just took away power from the throne? The best answer that I could give is that they want a powerful emperor they can control, but nothing really supports that part of the theory because Edelgard and the nobles mutually hate each other. Couldn’t the nobles just do what they want to do if the emperor was made that politically impotent? Probably! Then if what Edelgard said was true, why didn’t they do it already? I don’t know!
Why does no one but Edelgard and Hubert acknowledge the existence of the other imperial royal kids? Wouldn’t her noble classmates like Ferdinand at least be aware of them, especially if there were that many siblings older than Edelgard? No fucking clue.
If Edelgard swore she would change the world where such things wouldn’t happen again, why is she working with the perpetrators? Because she needs their power to topple the church. But why would she need to topple the church when the church preaches against abusing power blessed by the goddess i.e. Crests and tries its best to treat everyone equally? No fucking idea.
Conclusion
See what I mean? Edelgard’s family history is so damn sloppy. Some important aspects go unexplained and other important aspects are contradicted. In contrast, with the Nohrian royal family’s internal politics and power feuds, where everything noted to be important is supported by the text with no major contradictions in sight.
But the worst part is, that even if you go with my approach and say “Edelgard is a known fucking liar and information that solely comes from her mouth shouldn’t be taken at face value” well... then you’re left with ‘well if Edelgard did lie then what’s the real truth’ and you don’t get answers because the game doesn’t care despite those things being integral to the main cast of two routes.
Plus you have to suspend your disbelief that Edelgard is such a genius that she’s able to construct an entire false history regarding Adrestia’s hit sitcom “How I Met Your Consort Mother”. And Edelgard has her moments yes, but I don’t think she’s really that smart. Or maybe she is and I just can’t wrap my head around it.
So, yeah. Pick your poison. Suspend disbelief that Edelgard is such a fucking genius and/or liar or resign to the fact that the game’s writing can be really sloppy. Or pick both.
Or pick none, and believe that Edelgard is actually telling the truth about everything in regards to her family and what happened to them, with explanations that would make even a hardcore Watsonian like me dizzy with confusion.

Masterlist:
October 10th - Favorite Sitcom Marathon
When it came to television, Michael liked watching old horror movies.
He didn't really care for modern films and/or TV shows, but he did enjoy watching them with you.
Mainly because he liked hearing you laugh and hearing your commentary.
Your favorite TV show was That 70's Show...and was also Michael's growing favorite.
His favorite character was Hyde - mainly because he was a low-energy character with the wit and sarcasm of a man who had seen it all.
Your favorite character was Fes - mainly because of his accent and funny pickup lines as well as his comebacks.
You were finally scheduled off for a weekend and your and Michael's plans consisted of nothing but staying in and spending time together.
As much as you hated being cooped up all day due to your energetic nature, you thoroughly enjoyed it because you got to spend time with Michael.
He was also fantastic at making snack boards.
If he could, he could sit and watch an entire season in a day.
You, however, could not. You always would fall asleep after a certain amount of time, which Michael took advantage of as he'd steal your favorite candy and eat the rest of your popcorn.
He'd at least take off your glasses for you so that you wouldn't break them.
Let's just say it didn't take you two long to complete all seasons provided.

GUESS WHO BEAT PEE3 TODAY (fes, the journey at least)
(lengthy) final thoughts:
ryoji is kind of. um. "that was my name for a while. i didnt mind it." hes kind of trans. is the thing. also bro 100% drew the shortest stick in this game lmao
obviously ryo/mina isnt quite the same as some of the other insane peesona gay people (2,5. 4 is gay but not rlly insane) bc like. in that form at least we only know him for like...two months?or so? but. u know what. they r t4t and both (kind of) dead. good for them.?
jumpscared by "the arcana is the means by which all is revealed." ive been seeing that shit in like. youtube comments since the day i was born. insane
nyx was like. pathetically easy. to the point where i felt kinda bad about it lol. at least its funny. this is what happens when u have level 99 protag + black viper lucifer (+ messiah for salvation for ailment healing. i could just use me patra gems but its more stylish this way). nobody ever got below half health and most phases (minus last bc of the halved non-almighty damage + gown) were a 1/2/3 hit kill. guys who overlevel because they just love the velvet room so so much (and im prolly not gonna do ng+, especially with portable port on its way (femc!). so trying to experience most that i can)
i did cheese the reaper a while back. used thunder reign strat. was actually harder bc new moon rebalance nerfed the shock rate so its not 100% lol. but took advantage of its ai to get it stuck in a break skill loop (akihiko dekunda sweep) the money was nice, and i spent soooo much time in monad levelling personas. wont be able to do liz fight bc not doing ng+. (slightly related: ive played pee5 so many times and ive never actually tried the twins/lvnza/jose fights. vanilla 1 time, royal 1 time, royal again for a friends playthrough but its not ng+, ng+ for 100% royal but only up to exams...royal for another friend's playthru. lol)
yuka/mitsu is real. to me. theyre even the colors of the lesbian flag
i maxed most social links besides magician (bc hes annoying. surt wouldve been nice tho), mitsuru (got up to like 8 then ran out of time), fuuka (trapped at rank 1. dont like her enough, not enough time. sorry. i played with english voices u know how it is), yuko (accidentally reversed her), justice (i know. who would have thought. started her wayyy too late.), keisuke (hes soooo cute like. i wanna look like that tbh. but fortune isnt useful enough and i ran out of time)
speaking of social links i literally hate how they work in this game so so so so much. i dont want to date all these girls! let me hang out with other girls please... this is the biggest example of romance making all these games so much worse. like. what the hell. (aigis is like. the only good female social link (that i finished) (maybe bc she isnt very much a girl))
another mechanic i hate: NOT BEING ABLE TO PICK INHERITED SKILLS. is every ps2 era megaten game like this? i love love love 'sona/demon fusion but it is so much harder to make stupid crazy builds when u have to reroll over and over again. literally just a timewaster. what could have been...i cant believe my lucifer is still weak to ice. WHO USES PEESONAS WITH WEAKNESSES. IN THIS DAY AND AGE????
the extremely strange continuity with 1&2 is fucked up to like. nickelodean sitcom cinematic universe levels. u know.
im still fixated on 5.i make that very obvious. and i do like 5's overall story better (royal being a very big portion of that). but GOD i love love love the theming of this game.
those strega guys r definitely fucking. i literally do not care about them but thats kind of just a fact.
the concept of artificial personas (that kill you) (that u have to take meds for which eventually kill you) REALLYYYY fucks me up what a BANGER CONCEPT. JESUS! JESUS. gg kirijo group.
chidori...(wretched)
akinari... (very wretched)
i dont think i have a favorite. tbh. like i like mitsuru because i like women and shes hot but character wise shes not actually super my type. i like ken because hes the most fucked up ten year old in the world (justice bias). aigis is crazycrazy theres stuff to be said abt her (characters who give metatron bias). yukari is a mean girl and i like that about her (lovers bias). ryoji doesnt have that much screentime for obv reasons but thematically hes cool (guys who beg u to kill them bias). i like the protag a lot (protag bias). yeah
OBVIOUSLY i knew we were gonna die. and when. and where. and how. but :( head in aigis's lap, brushing away her robo-tears... didnt cry but wow this game.
joshua peefee christ figure moment
kimi no kioku is the best 'sona song. period. nyx (avatar)&nyx (nyx) songs go hard too. but man!!!! kimi no kioku!! LOVE how its kind of a motif in so many other parts of the soundtrack, especially near the end...a unifying melody, an overarching theme.
forever from now ill prolly watch the movies just so i can make an amv. this game needs an amv. and unlike pee5 the animovies should cover most of what id want to say in one!
after the answer, ill finally be able to finish eternalpun. im so sorry ive neglected you guys, my friends...my pee2s....
kimi wo i will never leave you <3
#bobtalk#good game#if i missed a censor and u see this in the tags. sorry. lol#at least its so long nobody will ever read this. except me. because i know

MBTI’ing the OTP: Valentine’s Day Special
By Mysterylover123
These are just my personal ships, FYI - you don’t like em, no problem. Just thought I’d analyze the MBTI types of all my faves. Happy Valentine’s Day.
Friends: Chandler and Monica - ISFJ & ESFJ
If I had to pick my idea of a great IRL romance, this would be it. Best friends who fall in love. Chandler is the ISFJ, hesitant, eager to be liked, sticking to his guns and more practical in some ways than Monica. Monica has been typed as both ESTJ & ESFJ, and I can see a case for both - she’s ESFJ on this site and ESTJ on others. Either way, she’s more controlling and uptight than Chandler, but in some ways less practical and more emotion-driven. They make an interesting couple that works surprisingly well, who manage to balance out each others’ strengths and weaknesses nicely.
Steven Universe: Ruby and Sapphire - ESTP & INFJ
The OTP to end them all, Ruby and Sapphire are an interesting case of opposites attracting. They have the exact inverted functions of each other, Se-Ti-Fe-Ni, and combine to form the ISTP Garnet. Ruby is impulsive and Sapphire sees the future. Ruby is aggressive and Sapphire patient. They’re a great match, though potentially volatile since they’re so opposite and yet so similar. It makes crazy sense for characters with inverted functions to form a permafusion.
Harry/Ginny (ISFP/ESTP)
Everyone has a HP OTP, it seems, and mine is HG. These two have a pretty classic MBTI romance combination - both SP artisans, who like living in the moment and are often impulsive. Harry is more emotional and broody and Ginny is more logical and practical. One interesting point that I think makes these two compatible is that Harry’s Fi makes him hard to talk to and comfort easily; it takes someone with extraordinary tact and patience to get him to communicate, and Ginny has that as a Ti/Fe user - a strong perception of others’ needs. Makes them pretty perfect for each other.
Swarkles Robin/Barney (ISTP/ENTP)
These two have a rather unusual combination of MBTI - Both high Ti users but different perceiving functions. Robin, the ISTP, is a clear pragmatist who has difficulty with emotions. Barney is a big idea guy who bounces from one thing to the next endlessly, with the philosophy that new is always better. Both are a bit on the impulse, fun-loving side in this case, making for a very whacky couple with lots of sitcom adventures. Favorite line between them: “I’m such a mess, why do you even like me?” “I guess cause you’re almost as messed up as I am.”
Buffy/Faith (ESFP/ESTP)
Time to put my Buffy-verse OTPs out there! Once upon a time, I did ship Spuffy, but I’ve turned to the Fuffy side of things as time went by. Anyway, Buffy and Faith are both Se noms who love action and living in the moment. This goes badly for them in “Bad Girls” but there is a certain degree of mutual understanding between two Se doms. The difference is their T/F functions - Faith is utilitarian and Buffy inwardly moral. However, as the series goes on they come to a better understanding of each other. I always enjoy their chemistry, even if they don’t get to be canon.
Angel/Cordelia (ISFJ/ESTJ)
My biggest Buffy-verse OTP, one most people don’t get into without seeing the spinoff show Angel. But Cangel has my heart. I love slow-burn friendship ships. Anyway, the MBTI. Both strong Si users, but with a nice balance between them; Angel has the ideals and empathy that influence Cordelia to be a kinder person with his Si/Fe; Cordy has the grounded practicality to keep Angel from disappearing into broodiness, and they balance each other out perfectly for the first 3 seasons of the show. Definitely love this one and always angry at Whedon for not letting it happen.
Daria/Jane (INFP/ISFP)
Don’t know if y’all have seen Daria, but check it out of you have the time. It’s great. Anyway, another one with two of the same dominant functions: Both Fi’s. This means they’re both highly moral introverts who love artistic expression but struggle with expressing feelings aloud. That’s Daria and Jane, all right. The contrasting perceiving functions show in how Jane is more willing to engage in the world and give stuff (cheerleading at one point) a try, while Daria is more hesitant and less engaged. I do ship them - they’re best friends and the show wasn’t shy about teasing them. Noncanon ship here.
Clois - Clark Kent/Lois Lane (ISFP/ESTP)
I love these two in any incarnation - I’m a sucker for bickering friends to lovers - but my favorite is Smallville. The same MBTI makeup as Harry/Ginny earlier - I guess I like this combination. Again, part of what makes it work is the similar perceiving functions, but nicely balanced TF opposites. FI can get a little brooding and introverted on itself, while Ti/Fe can sometimes become too pragmatic and insensitive, so they help each other out in a lot of ways. Something about Clark/Lois just works for me - another pairing of a sweetheart dreamer and a snarky pragmatist who bicker because they care.
Harley Quinn/Poison Ivy (ESFP/ENFJ)
My favorite incarnation of these two is the animated series version - they have such great chemistry there and Timm says they are canon here. Anyway, this combo is rather frequent in fiction, ENFJ often paired off with high Se users for some reason. Ivy as the ENFJ has a lot of tact, perception and motherly behavior that helps her sweet-talk and care for the impulsive and damaged Harley. Harley, the ESFP, has a certain knack for connecting to others, and helps Ivy avoid becoming too misanthropic, since Ivy kinda hates humans in general. Great pair of wicked gal pals.
Frasier’s Niles/Daphne (INFJ/ENFP)
One of my rare pairings with complete opposite functions. But in some ways my very first OTP. They’re both Intuitive dominants, dreamers with their minds in the clouds, who are attracted to each other but take forever to act on it in any way. Both are emotionally driven - Niles outwardly, Daphne inwardly - with strong personal ethics; tertiary Thinking functions, and inferior Sensing functions. They’re definitely opposites attract, but with a caveat of perfectly aligning functions. I love this ship so damn much; it’s such a great mix of hot chemistry and tender love.
Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson (INTP/ENFP)
Peter and MJ have many different incarnations, with varying functions. The consistent seems to be that Peter uses some kind of Ti (ISFJ, ISTP, ESTP, INTP) and is usually an introvert, while MJ is an extrovert with a strong intuitive function (ENFP/ENFJ) or occasionally adapted into an ISFP. Either way, my favorite version is the comics, which lean towards the first interpretation. As an iNTP I get along well with the ENFPs in my life, but more importantly I love this pairing too. High Ne combo that sees the possibilities in the world, and the classic Ti/Te balance.
MCU Stucky - Steve/Bucky (ISFJ/ESTP)
I have some other MM slash pairs, but they’re mostly from anime so they’re not on this list. Anyway, Stucky. Both Fe/Ti users, with dominant sensing functions of different perceptions. Steve is more of a stick-to-it kinda guy, Bucky is more willing to try other options (this pops up a lot in their interactions, with Bucky suggestion different Paths and Steve not backing down. Who says Se’s are more stubborn than Si’s?). There is a great devotion between the two, though. I know it won’t be canon but that never stopped anyone from shipping before.
Gravity falls Dipper/Pacifica (INTJ/ESTJ)
Another noncanon one. This is a very unusual combo, I can’t think of many stories that even have these two types. Both are high Te users, which in this case practically guarantees a Bickering Sexual Tension kind of relationship. Both are pragmatic and long-term planners, with Dipper being an Ni-dom who overplans and over-thinks everything, Pacifica a strong pragmatist. Both are Type A’s with a lot in common, who learn from each other. His stronger Fi function helps her come to terms with her lower Fi, and act morally. It’s very sweet.
Parks and Recreation Andy/April (ENFP/INTP?)
I’m a little uncertain of April’s type, since I’ve seen lots of different typings for her across the board. My best guess for now is INTP. Another pairing I just adore, this time canon and married. They’ve got just a great balance, both being impulsive dreamers but one more openly affectionate and the other more reticent and practical. These two just work well together - balanced and loving and supportive. The strong Ne they both share (I think they do) makes for some great vague and impractical connections. I fell in love with this ship right away, as soon as my cousin showed me the episode where they move in with Ben.
CSI Grissom/Catherine (INTP/ESTP)
Grillows is another ship that I regret not being Canon, since they have some serious chemistry. Both are strong Ti users, practical and analytical, but with contrasting perceiving functions. He likes theories, she likes to go out and do. This creates that kind of contrasting Holmes and Watson style duo between them, though Grissom is not always right, and Catherine tends to balance out his more theoretical and distant attitude nicely. She can make mistakes too, like being too impulsive or emotional, but it always feels like there’s good points on each side.
Pride and Prejudice: Elizabeth/Darcy (ENFP/INTJ)
One ship that me and Charity (and let’s face it, most people) share. They just work so perfectly together. Two intuitive dominants with big ideas, similarly blunt Te manners of analyzing and addressing logic, and reticent Fi that makes it hard for them to just talk about their feelings. The journey from bad first impression to happy ending is so enthralling every time. Austen definitely created a timeless winner with this one.

10 Suited Men Perform Classic Song, Bring House Down When They Bust Out The Moves
Professional acapella groups make performing look easy, but it actually takes an incredible amount of talent, skill, and practice to sing without instruments accompanying you. Add a couple of songs to a medley and put a dance routine on top of that, and you’re looking at some seriously skilled performers.
Straight No Chaser is an all men’s acapella group that combines vocals, dance, and humor. The group’s rendition of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight/Brown-Eyed Girl” drew whoops and hollers from a crowd in Santa Fe. Before they began, one of the singers had a warning for the audience.
“We should take a moment to mention that we actually choreographed this number ourselves,” he said, drawing laughs from the crowd. “It’s gonna be blatantly obvious in about a minute.”
swiggle1 dot pattern2
YouTube Screenshot Source: YouTube Screenshot
Right away, the singers were setting the audience up for a fun time.
They drew more chuckles from the audience as they did exaggerated stretches, preparing for the choreographed routine. Clearly, they were already enjoying themselves and getting ready to let the audience do just that, too.
But their rendition of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” started out slow and melodic. The 10 men lined up in their sober brown suits to sing a slow version of the 1961 Tokens classic. But the audience members anticipated a joke, and they were already getting into the music.
By the time the group reached the first chorus, they were all proven right. Suddenly, the music swelled, the beat dropped, and the men fell into a synchronized dance.
The best part of their performance, aside from the gorgeous harmonies?
The individualized dance routines of each and every member. Some of the singers leaped up and down, some shouted to the crowd, and one even attempted the Carlton, the famous dance that was featured on the 1990s sitcom “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
The singers clearly were having the time of their lives. Even while they sang, they joked together, nudged one another, and laughed. It brought a refreshing uniqueness to what might normally have been a fairly ordinary acapella number.
At one point, the lead singer even held out a microphone to a man in the audience and told him to take it from there. The joke drew another round of laughter from the audience.
At the very end of the song, the members all broke out into freestyle.
One of them did a silly shuffle, one shook his hips, and one did a serious-faced macarena.
Since the performance in 2010, Straight No Chaser has gained some recognition as a top acapella group. The singers regularly tour the United States, still bringing humor and spirit to their acapella performances. With a Pandora station and an active YouTube channel, their fanbase has only grown since the rendition of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight/Brown Eyed Girl” eight years ago.
They still favor song medleys, like many other acapella groups.
Straight No Chaser loves to add a splash of humor and fun to performances. The men obviously love singing and dancing together, and they bring an enormous amount of skill and energy to the stage.
It’s also obvious that they have fun making music videos as well as performing live. Back in 2015, they did a music video called “Straight No Chaser’s Movie Medley,” performing the acapella version of several famous movie themes — in costume, of course.
On top of that, the group had the chance to play around with some silly self-composed lyrics.
Singing the instrumental part isn’t as fun as writing your own words, and that’s just what the fun-loving group decided to do.
“There are dinosaurs in Jurassic Park,” they sing in the first theme. “Oh no! They just escaped! The power went out, setting them all free — run for your life!”
The video also includes the main themes from James Bond, “E.T.,” “Titanic,” “Indiana Jones,” “Forrest Gump,” “Chariots of Fire,” “Rocky,” and “Star Wars.”
“Have you seen this movie?” they sing of “Chariots of Fire.” “Our guess would be no! But this famous theme song you probably know.”
Unsurprisingly, the video ends with a Star Wars-themed can-can number complete with full costumes.
Even though they may like to act silly, it’s clear that the members of Straight No Chaser love to perform and find creative ways to rework classic songs. They also have an enormous amount of talent. Their voices blend perfectly — something that isn’t easy to do without a lot of practice. It isn’t hard to see why their popularity continues to grow.

Hey can you talk about what it is like for you to be a core 4 and an ENTP? Cuz core 4s are said to be so protective of their emotions forming the basis for their significant identity, setting them aside from others I want to know how NeTi works with a 4 core.
Oh cool, my first ask!
I honestly don’t know how to answer this, but I’ll do my best. I guess I’ll just try to explain who I am (?) in the abstract and hope that’s good enough.
I mean, I’ve always typed as a lot of different things MBTI wise, but I figured out ENTP based on how my life has worked out in the big picture: when I was a kid, I was a really energetic kid, but I was always playing in an imaginative way, and loved to immerse myself in different worlds. As I grew up I became a lot more logical and withdrawn, and was quite the nerd, especially in middle school. Around the end of high school to now (middle of college) I’m starting to become a lot more social and getting good at it, and I kind of get the whole “ExTP being manipulative” thing (and perhaps more importantly I had started consciously caring what people thought of me to an extent that was probably unhealthy. I was flooded with a deep necessity to care about other people’s feelings/what others thought of me and I just didn’t know how to deal with it). Even though I’m not doing it with malicious intent, I’m beginning to instinctively understand how to act to get people to like me. Another thing that makes sense for me being an ENTP is the way I loop Ne-Fe and I definitely grip Si, I become super withdrawn and just watch sitcoms until I pass out. Personality Hacker has a diagram about your different functions and how you should use them based on their position and it really helped me realize I need to start using Ti in social situations and only use Fe with people I’m comfortable with or if I’m already using Ne and and Ti in a healthy way.
I really think the best way to type yourself is to look at how you’ve developed in the long term over the years. @confusedinfj has a good post about how kids of different main functions act, and I really do think that your main function shows up when you’re a toddler. Something else I’ve noticed is that you tend to consciously focus on your next developing function. When I was developing into my Ti stage I was really focused on reading and learning as much as I could. When I started to develop my Fe later on, I really focused on figuring out how to socialize and where I fit into the world, and as much as I hate to admit it what I did that people liked and didn’t like, having good hygiene and getting a good body, etc. It’s weird, but it seems to me that when you’re in a certain stage you start developing the next function by consciously focusing on it and eventually it just becomes a part of you (this is all anecdotal of course, so I suppose some people may disagree).
Now as for your actual question, I’m not sure how being a 4 fits into all of this, so I guess I’ll just list the reasons I felt like it makes sense. First and foremost, when I took the keys2cognition test my Fi was off the charts, and I found this really weird:
Furthermore, when I read the type description for INFP both on his website and 16 personalities, it did ring true in a weird way. Now, I know most people will say you shouldn’t trust the tests and I 100% agree, so I’m really just saying this to show my journey of figuring out what I think is my being a type 4.
Secondly, I took the RHETI enneagram test from the Enneagram Institute and got a type 4 much higher than other options:
What was crazy about this one was how it explained the way I act with people I get too close to down to a tee: I have a REALLY bad habit of idealizing people, getting really close to them, and then when I’m around them too long little things about them start to annoy the bejeezus out of me and I start to avoid them (I know it’s really shitty and I’ve been working on it). Also, isolation is how this type gets away from their problems and it’s definitely what I do.
The last thing that sort of helps the idea along is that I did some career services evaluations to determine what field I should go into and one of the tests I took was the Clifton Strengths assessment. You have to pay for it but it’s actually extremely helpful, at least in my experience; it basically tells you what your top strengths are. My number 1 strength was individualization: basically I can look st myself and others and determine what their good at, what their bad at, their aspirations, worst fears, etc. and this makes me really good at team building and such. It explained why I love self-discovery and MBTI and all this personality stuff despite most ENTPs probably not really caring.
I would say some miscellaneous reasons that I think I’m a type 4 have to do with how I understand Enneagram to work with MBTI: I think MBTI is how a person operates, and Enneagram is what DRIVES them, or is the “why” behind the “how” of MBTI. For me, I definitely seem to operate in an ENTP way, and when it comes down to functions an how they work together they seem to make sense for me. Besides this though, other ENTP stuff is very unlike me. For instance, I’m always trying to define myself, and take pride in my own originality; maybe less so trying to be unique, but more so trying to figure out who I am and separate myself from the rest of the pack and be the greatest version of myself so to speak. Another good example is how I play video games. Other ENTPs seem to enjoy video games for letting themselves take on different personas and try different things, and I do this to an EXTENT. The reality though is that I’m trying to figure out who I am the whole time, and I want to do this in order to be able to discover and define myself. For instance, I love Skyrim, but if I ever create a character who does things like murder innocent people, steals, etc. I have to design the character as some other person; when I create a character as myself, I have to follow my own moral code (even though it’s a damn video game) or else I feel icky. Actually, to be completely honest, I feel this way even if it’s just because my character isn’t what I would imagine I would be like in that world. I always feel gross when I’m playing and maybe I’ll try to use a sword and shield for a while but the whole time I’m just like “this ISNT ME” and it bothers me a lot. Idk I guess it always comes back to wanting to really discover who I am and trying to define myself so that I can discover what makes me special and use it to live my best life. It’s just like I have this constant subconscious drive to figure out who I am and be myself like doing so can allow me to overcome any obstacle.
I hope this is what you wanted, I kinda just took what you said loosely and ranted. Feel free to ask more questions (also I hope I’m doing this right since it’s my first ask 🙃). I know there’s Enneagram/MBTI purists out there that say only certain MBTI types can fit into certain Enneagrams, and perhaps they’re right too. I’m still on what I guess you could call my “journey of self-discovery” and what’s more important to me than being right is getting it right, so I’d love to hear anyone’s two cents on the subject.

7 Things I Enjoyed in 2021 that Aren’t Fairy Tail
You know the rules and so do I.
Number 7: The Hunter's Guild: Red Hood
Given the cutthroat nature of the WSJ, many series that show promise are canceled early. A lot of series got the ax this year, including Phantom Seer, an honorable mention from last year. But seeing Red Hood end prematurely was especially disappointing. It was great to see a series take the various Grimm Brothers stories and make a fighting series with it. It doesn't seem as though WSJ readers and the folks at Shueisha agreed. Here's hoping the writer gets another shot sometime soon.
Number 6: Cynical Theories: How Activist Scholarship Made Everything About Race, Gender, and Identity—and Why This Harms Everybody
Yeah, this is going to upset some people. I found out about the authors Helen Pluckrose and James Lindsay a few years ago. They teamed up with Peter Boghossian to fool a bunch of academic journalists into publishing bunk journal entries, including a feminist rewriting of part of Mein Kampf. (I wish I was joking.) Since then, the group has often teamed up to write and talk about how these studies aren't as helpful as people want to believe. I've been waiting to read this book for a while. I'm glad I was able to this year. The whole time I read it, I kept screaming "This stuff is cancer!" out loud as I read the quotes they cited. If you're interested in this but don't enjoy reading non-fiction at a graduate level, wait for their book Social Injustice to come out in a few weeks.
Number 5: Wandavision
Chalk this one up to being too behind on the MCU for my own good. I've heard a lot of praise for Far from Home. But I still have to catch up with Falcon and the Winter Soldier, let alone the movies from this year. Still, this was a great introduction to Disney Plus for Marvel Studios. After the fallout of both Avengers movies, Wanda grieves the loss of Vision by... holding an entire town hostage and creating a series of sitcoms. Most episodes pay homage to a different era of the genre going from the black-and-white era to the modern era. I'm not sure I could have expected to have as much fun watching this as I had. As a big lover of the mutants, I almost shed tears when we saw Wanda finally become the Scarlet Witch. I can't wait to see how this ties into the upcoming Doctor Strange film... after I catch up with the rest of the MCU...
Number 4: Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation
This series will likely be anime of the year for many people. However, my nod goes to the light novel version of the series. Mushoku Tensei didn't start the isekai genre or trends it uses. But it set the tone for where the genre would end up going. With the series making its name known to the West this year, it's not hard to see why. You're not getting an escapist fantasy about a guy living out his dream. Rudeus Greyrat is someone who recognizes he screwed up in his old life and is genuinely trying to make the most of his new life. This shows up in how he helps others and is tied to other parts of the series. If it weren't for certain plot points, this might have made it higher on this list. Still, I can't deny that I've had a great time reading this. I eagerly await the reaction to certain things coming up in the anime.
Number 3: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Haha, the game with the number 3 is my number 3. I've been meaning to play this for a while. As fun as FE is, I've had extra fun playing this particular game now. My first playthrough of this game coincided with me actually becoming a teacher. I can't say that it's affected my teaching abilities. However, as an addition to the Fire Emblem series, it's great to see this game hasn't divided the community as much as many other recent entries have. It feels like every new game I play in this series becomes my favorite. However, this has been the first game I've struggled to put down in years. I'm still on my second playthrough, and I'm having a ton of fun finding out more about the world and characters. This upcoming year looks to be a big one for Nintendo, and it will be interesting to see how they impress fans.
Number 2: Komi-san Can't Communicate
Do you mean to tell me that Netflix licensed two series about a character who meets someone who helps them make a ton of friends despite their social ineptitude? And hit both out of the park? Though, I've already given EZ a spot on this list in the past. This is a series that has been hyped up for years. Shouko Komi's popularity in-universe is only rivaled by her popularity in real life. When I saw that it was getting an adaptation, I was worried it wouldn't live up to the expectations. Not because of the source material, but if the studio would do the series justice. Needless to say, those fears were widely exaggerated. This was the most fun new anime of the year (not named EZ). Admittedly, I haven't seen much new anime from this year people would consider a standout hit. However, I doubt that anything from this year would have gotten my nod over it. Word of advice, this might not be the best show to watch on Netflix.
Number 1: Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel trilogy
To think these are the Ufotable movies making the top of my list. One of my big anime goals for the year was to get into the Fate series. I have a ways to go with the millions of spinoffs. But I've seen all of the main adaptations of the series. Part of me wanted to give this spot to Carnival Phantasm, just because. However, I can't say I enjoyed anything I went through this year as much as Heaven's Feel movie trilogy. Allow me to vastly oversimplify this series. Fate/stay night is a visual novel involving a series of battles involving famous mythical and historical figures fighting alongside people who use magic. There are three different routes: Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven's Feel. I'd have liked UBW with a different ending, and the adaptation for Fate isn't great. Heaven's Feel provided a ton of satisfying endings for characters I didn't think would get happy endings. This especially goes for the main heroine of this route Sakura Matou. I fell in love with her even during the first Fate adaptation. Watching Heaven's Feel made me willing to fight anyone who would see her unhappy. Also, screw Shinji Matou.
(This is an aside for the Fate series. If you want to get into the series, here's what you need to know. Either go through the UBW television series and then go to the movies first or Fate/Zero. Once you finish one, watch what you missed. You can go through the old Fate/stay night anime before UBW if you want, but it's horribly dated and mixes things from the other routes. You can also just go through the visual novels and get into whatever you want from there. Anything else is extra.)
As honorable mentions, the PV for Chainsaw Man might be one of the best anime I've seen, and the series will likely have a spot on this list. I did enjoy the Case Studies of Vanitas anime but not enough for it to make the list. I've been rewatching the old Sailor Moon, and I've been having a fun time. River City Girls is a great game that I can't wait to see the sequel for next year. Hilda and Cobra Kai will get new series additions after I post this, and it looks like they'll continue to be amazing. And, if you haven't given EZ a chance, the anime is an underrated gem. Give it a shot before the second season adapts some of the more crazy moments in the series.
Speaking of which, here’s my EZ list. See you!

grace hanson, women’s work, and “grace and frankie” season 4
Meet Grace Hanson. She’s about to have her Alice in Wonderland moment.
She’s just finished praying to God in anger, because she worked her ass off her entire life, did everything “right,” and ended up here. Despite being a successful businesswoman, and despite not fitting comfortably into the traditional roles of “wife” and “mother,” she’s bought into the idea of “women’s work.” She’s taken care of every minute detail in her marriage and family life, she’s restricted her eating, she’s stayed pretty in time-consuming and self-sacrificial ways, she’s escaped into alcohol as a means of survival, she’s dismissed people and ideas that might have offered liberation, and she’s been nothing but careful and proper and hard. She’s hurt herself and others in the process, and she’s been horribly wounded. She has to reckon with the fact that women’s work has failed her in what feels like the end.
But now, high on peyote and the creeping of her own dark thoughts, she’s taken one of Frankie Bergstein’s tears on the tip of her finger. She sees a whole world in it. She says so out loud. And, like Alice down the rabbit hole, Grace Hanson falls into that world.
She spends three years falling. And falling. And falling. She heals, albeit imperfectly, not only from the divorce but from all that women’s work. She learns self-love. Life with Frankie makes more sense than anything else she’s ever had.
This change, gradual and inconstant but profound, is possible because Grace and Frankie fall in love with each other, and they love the household they establish together. They don’t graduate from their flaws, but they make each other happier, freer, braver, and more interesting. And while they don’t only choose each other, they always choose each other. For three years. Three years of trying really hard to prioritize each other, take care of each other, and communicate uneasily but with increasing clarity about the canonically queer, canonically too-much way they need each other.
But at the end of those years, though they love each other more than ever, insecurities and external circumstances and the influence of men have conspired to erode some of their certainty about each other. We can see Grace’s love for Frankie; we can see Frankie’s love for Grace. But it’s not quite as clear for them. Grace lets Frankie go (to Santa Fe with Jacob) in a convoluted act of misguided selflessness that’s a bigger threat to their shared happiness than anything else has ever been.
This hot air balloon ride, as stunningly! gay! as it is, turns into more of a threat to Grace-and-Frankie than Grace’s failed affair with Phil, Grace’s cruel treatment of Frankie during an alcoholic bender, Grace’s decision to keep her firearm a secret, Frankie’s emotional manipulativeness, Frankie’s lies about the origin of Vybrant’s funding, their disagreements about the way Frankie handles a major health scare, and the shared struggles of aging, starting and maintaining a business, keeping house together, getting into disagreements that bring them both to tears, and dealing with the sitcom antics of a loving but frequently dysfunctional family.
The first three years of Grace’s grand and confusing and joyous fall into Frankie’s universe end here.
But before we dive into their fourth year, let’s look at how each of those first three years ended. (We’re pretending show seasons are years, because the timelines can be a little confusing.)
Year 1 ends with Grace and Frankie walking on their stretch of beach together, getting officially lesbian-married beneath a Ruth 1:16 voice-over. Wherever you go, I will go.
Year 2 ends with Grace and Frankie sitting together on their same stretch of beach. They’ve grown up a lot in a very short time, thanks to the biggest moral and emotional challenge they’ve experienced together. Now they’re in mourning for their friend Babe. They’re excited for their business venture. The loss and birth are linked. It’s Grace-and-Frankie vs. the world (or vs. their ageist family members).
Year 3 ends middair. Pattern broken. If there’s any beach in the shot, it’s just a fuzzy line of blue in the distance. Floating far from their shared property, their shared sacred spot, it’s obvious that shit’s going to hit the fan, though we have no reason to doubt the love and adoration they feel for each other. Moments earlier, the muscles in Grace’s hand jumped involuntarily, that’s how badly she wants to hold Frankie’s hand.
Grace hurts Frankie by encouraging her to go to Santa Fe. Frankie hurts Grace by going. Then shit indeed hits the fan, but not in the way I, extremely emotionally invested viewer, could have ever anticipated.
This way to spoiler-y season 4 thoughts:
So...I think...I liked it? Or more accurately, I disliked a lot of it, liked way more than I expected to, and really loved some of it. Overall I’m feeling okay!
I don’t think I can articulate a list of things I liked and a list of things I disliked. Instead, one list:
I was really afraid that Grace was going to get a severe health diagnosis (such as cancer) and that Frankie was going to get a(nother) severe health diagnosis (such as dementia). WHEW, WHEW, WHEW.
My Grace/Frankie-related assumption was that S3 would loom so large that they wouldn’t be able to move on well, and that Santa Fe and Frankie’s decision would take up a ton of space. I’m actually--sort of--glad that didn’t happen. Frankie and Grace have obviously hurt each other, but they’re so aligned this season, and that feels right. After all the conflict and miscommunication in S3, here there’s a lot of relief, I think, over what they might have lost and didn’t...
...but I had no idea that a show called Grace and Frankie could have so little shared screen time for the two title characters from episodes 5-11. God. It was interminable in places. The writing really lagged, the storylines were frantic and disjointed, and major subplots wrapped up faster this season than some single-line inside jokes from seasons past. I wanted less of a circus and more onscreen proof of the conversations we know Grace and Frankie were having. It was obvious that Grace and Frankie were processing information about each other’s lives because they were able to reveal said information in fact form (sometimes). But we deserved so much more.
In some places, it felt like the biggest conflict was Grace-and-Frankie vs. the show. They’d have scenes and scenes apart, and then just stare at each other and reach for each other when they got to be in a room together. On the bright side, my firm belief that Grace is a lesbian and Frankie is bi wasn’t threatened by this season whatsoever. (I thought it might be.) But on the not-so-bright side, it’s a little upsetting to feel this character-level discomfort from within the show the characters are in. I mean, this show was written and directed by humans. These humans could see and hear the characters, who were played by humans. And yet: so much tension. Also Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are brilliant.
And the side storylines that are actually supposed to create tension just don’t. If I wasn’t bored by Robert and Sol, I was offended by Robert and Sol. Remove Sol and Robert is sometimes okay, but UGH. In S4, Nick Skolka is a better man that Robert and Sol, and now I have to go wash my mouth out with soap. But it’s true. Waaaay too much Robert and Sol.
Grace is in a SUPER STRUGGLE with women’s work in this season. I loved it and it broke my heart. She’s unapologetic and brave, yet her confidence really takes a hit. I mentioned something along these lines to a friend, and I’ll share it here, too: I do think it’s really telling that Grace struggled to tell Guy about her dislike of sub sandwiches and golf, and that she’s now straight-up making fun of Nick and creating boundaries with Nick and doing it on her own terms even if it doesn’t seem like what she wants, exactly. To watch her stability and relationship to self fluctuate re: Nick, Vybrant, her knee injury, her family relationships, her friends’ deaths, Arlene...OMG. The questions of “should” that arise from those scenarios are so deeply gendered and I’m grateful that the show at least made space for her character to experience these complexities.
Where is Grace’s comfort sweater?!?
I’m in a fight with all four of the kids and I’m glad I finished “Done with the Compass, Done with the Chart” when I did because I’m not sure if I could spend all that emotional energy on crafting chapters from each of their perspectives anymore.
I wonder, what do Jane and Lily really, really think about the storytelling approach this season?!? In their interviews, they touch each other constantly while they talk animatedly about female friendship, about jealousy and love, about sexuality, about the ways they’ve chosen to age and think about their lives and their eventual deaths. They refuse to let their interviewers soften or censor the tone of the show, taking every opportunity to remind the audience that Grace and Frankie own a vibrator company. None of that is an act; none of that is designed to tease or distort. What was it like for them to film the middle episodes of this season, knowing that as actors and people they believe in the emotional decision Grace and Frankie make at the end of episode 13? When they watched this season, were they happy?
I could go on forever. FOREVER. But this post is way too long and disjointed already, so trust that I have more thoughts and feelings.
I’ll end with the way the year ended, which I loved.
Year 4 ends with Grace and Frankie on their stretch of beach, though “their” is no longer true in a legal sense. They’ve been betrayed, and they’ve lost control of so much of what they held dear about their lives together. But as this season or year or whatever draws to a close, they’ve articulated, using mirroring, reinforcing language, that they chose to go to the retirement community out of a commitment to each other and that they’re committed to each other in their decision to leave, too. Not falling anymore; choosing.
And look at Grace--that right there is a season 3 twitch from a season 4 hand.
#grace and frankie#grace x frankie#g&f spoilers#meta#mine#grace hanson is a gay disaster#frankie bergstein is a bisexual mess#but the decisions they make together continue to be the best part of this damn show#AND I HAVE ZERO CHILL ABOUT HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM

Fic: The One With The Dog Mom And Hot Vet
Link to the whole story on FFN | AO3 | Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6
Summary: AU. Cosima is a crazy loving dog mom and Delphine is a crazy hot veterinarian. Cosima is also super gay. Just fluff and lots of family love.
Chapter 7: The One With Sarah And Felix The Wing-Sibs
Delphine looks between the two women, furrowing her brow. She figures that this woman who’d suddenly made an appearance was Sarah, Siobhan’s daughter and Cosima’s sister. There was no mistaking the glaringly obvious resemblance of the two young women; they could even be mistaken as identical twins. She could tell there was also something unspoken going on between the siblings and she just has absolutely no clue.
And what did Sarah mean with what she said? There was someone else excited to see her? Who? Siobhan?
Well, Delphine did like the Irish woman. Sarah is smirking at her like an imp.
“Me. I’m the one who’s excited to meet you.”
Sarah says it coolly and nonchalantly, pointing at herself. Cosima is steaming, whether it was out of embarrassment or annoyance at her sibling, one would never know.
The older sibling offers her hand for the French doctor to shake.
“Sarah Manning. Kira’s mum. She's talked a lot about you, Dr. Delphine.”
Delphine takes Sarah’s hand and shakes it firmly, smiling awkwardly. She was confused at the vibe between the two sisters. She could tell that there was something going on there.
"Nice to meet you, Sarah."
Sarah picks up on the blonde doctor's accent.
"Ah, you're French. Interesting."
Sarah looks at Cosima at the end of her statement, licks her lips and wiggles her eyebrows.
What the hell?
Cosima couldn't believe Sarah just did what she did and hoped that Delphine didn't see that, or else the floor could just swallow her whole right now. She thought of lighting up a joint so she can endure her humiliation at the hands of her sister in a haze.
Mrs. S. eyes the three women and knowing Sarah and Cosima well enough over the last five years, she quickly puts two and two together.
Sarah is boldly introducing herself to a newcomer which is out-of-character for her. Sarah says something about Kira not being the only one excited to see Delphine. Cosima is glaring at Sarah and blushing, turning red like a tomato. Sarah is wiggling her eyebrows and Cosima looks like she suddenly wants to die.
It clicks in the matriarch’s head.
Cosima has a crush on Delphine and Sarah is making fun of her for it.
Mrs. S. sighs and shakes her head.
These two… How predictable.
Sarah catches Mrs. S.’ head shake and raises an eyebrow. The matriarch looks pointedly at her then looks at Cosima with pity. The mother and daughter duo have a conversation only using their eyes.
Sarah, stop embarrassing your sister.
But, it’s so fun!
Siobhan narrows her eyes.
Stop it. Stop it, right now.
Sarah holds S.’ stare stubbornly for as long as she can. Of course, this wasn't very long. Sarah looks down in defeat.
Cosima watches the interaction, catching and understanding what was transpiring between the two. Being in this house, around three hardass stubborn Brits who use insults as greetings and who don’t like to talk about feelings much, she’s learned to interpret and follow these looks and wordless conversations. She knows Mrs. S. just willed Sarah to shut up. Cosima beams, holding herself back from throwing a ‘HA-HA’ at her sister.
The matriarch looks at Cosima with her chin held up, giving her a small triumphant smile. Cosima smiles back a silent ‘thank you’ before shooting her sister a look and quickly sticking her tongue out at Sarah.
Delphine just watches everything, even more bewildered now than she was earlier.
Just then, the door bursts open and Felix comes sauntering in, wearing an apron and holding up a spatula.
“Oi, big geeky lesbian, how heavy is that cake and why are you taking so long to bring it out?”
Three of the four women’s eyes go wide; Cosima’s in panic that she was basically kicked-in-the-ass-out-of-the-closet outed to her crush; Sarah’s in surprise that Felix just unknowingly demoted himself from wing-sibling #1 and made her look like a better wing-woman; and Delphine’s in even more bewilderment and surprise at the characters of the people in this household.
It must be fun to live here, the doctor thinks. It's like a 90's sitcom.
Mrs. S. just rolled her eyes at the train wreck that was her children. Poor Cosima, she thinks. That girl just wouldn’t get a break.
The matriarch decides to step in.
“Alright, let’s get this cake out of here. I want to make sure Kira gets a proper Happy Birthday song. Let’s not keep everyone waiting.”
Mrs. S. takes the round steel tray that has the cake on it. Delphine smiles at the older woman and follows her outside. Cosima looks at Sarah then to Felix and just throws her hands up in the air in frustration before walking out. Felix stares at the backs of the three women as they exit, confused. Sarah punches her brother in the shoulder.
“Ow! What was that for? Bitch.”
Felix rubs his shoulder.
"Oh shut up, Fe. That couldn't have been painful at all."
Sarah leans in closer so that no one else hears what she has to whisper to her foster brother.
“Fe, that’s the vet Kira keeps talking about. Cosima has a big gay crush on her.”
Felic leans back and scrunches his nose.
“So?”
Sarah rolls her eyes, considering smacking him again.
“Shite, Fe. You just called her a big lesbian in front of her crush, who probably has no clue. That was not smooth.”
Felix raises both eyebrows in understanding and nods.
“Oh.”
“Well, plus the fact that I probably already embarrassed Cos, too, y'know... Before you walked in.”
Felix rolls his eyes.
“Of course. Why are you just blaming it on me, then?”
“Because you’re supposed to be the better wingman! Now, let’s go apologize to the geek monkey before she over thinks her embarrassment.”
Felix nods. That last part was something he can agree with.
“Okay. Great idea.”
“Haaaappy birthdaaaay, tooo youuuuu!”
All the children and adults finish singing to Kira. The child looks at everyone with stars in her eyes, having the best day of her life. Sara stares at her daughter with so much love and starts clapping as the song ends. Mrs. S. had been watching her daughter and her grand daughter and she was just immensely thankful for where they are now, as a family.
Things had not always been so good in Siobhan’s household. Sarah Manning was an angry eight year old when S took her in. She only grew up to be angrier with a mean rebellious streak, always looking for trouble. That didn't change even after they moved to a different continent. The Irish woman did the best she could, even with her strained relationship with her own mother with whom she’s cut ties from decades ago. Even after Kira was born, Sarah kept running from Siobhan, pushing her away.
Raising Felix wasn’t a walk in the park either. He’s always had too much sass and attitude, even at a young age, but he was always warmer, definitely more loving than Sarah.
Things slowly started changing five years ago, a little bit before Cosima came into their lives. Mrs. S. had prohibited Sarah from seeing Kira after she went off to god-knows-where and didn’t call them for ten months. Kira being kept from the young woman had activated something in her, and eventually, when Cosima reached out to her and eventually moved to live in the same neighborhood, Sarah decided that she would try to open herself up to love and start giving the people around her the love they deserve.
It wasn’t at all an instantaneous thing. It took years. Siobhan was happy with the peace they achieved then, with Cosima as a new addition to their family. Cosima was happy to be part of this family now and is proud of how far her sister had come.
Siobhan recalls that final pivotal moment, though, for both her and Sarah. It happened only two years ago. Siobhan and Sarah were having a particularly rough night, the first after three years of peace since she was banned from seeing her daughter, after her biological sister reached out to her. The matriarch couldn't even recall what that fight was about, just that it had escalated quickly and things slipped out of her control. Kira heard the both of them fighting, Sarah yelling and Siobhan slapping her. The child witnessed this and got upset. She ran out of their home and got hit by a car crossing the street.
That was the most gruelling night of their lives. The two mothers both hated that Kira had to be rushed in an ambulance to solidify the glue mending their relationship. They had an unspoken vow that night to always act in the child’s best interest and to give her a better family life and home. Kira was a unique child, never blamed them for not giving her an atypical childhood, never held a grudge against Sarah for not telling her who her father was or for being away a lot, never hated anyone. Kira was just filled with love and understanding and wisdom beyond her years that S, Sarah, and Felix wondered how in the hell they could ever deserve such an angel in their lives.
Cosima had just always surmised that they had suffered and struggled enough that the universe gave them the light they needed in the form of her niece.
All the guests clap and cheer as the birthday girl blows out her candles after making her wish. Kira then immediately runs to greet Delphine with a hug around the French woman’s hips, something she was unable to do because Mrs. S. gathered everyone around to sing earlier.
“Dr. Delphine!”
Delphine laughs and bends down giving the little girl a proper hug.
“Hello, ma cherie. Happy birthday! I got you a little something.”
Delphine hands Kira a light blue gift box with a little royal blue bow on top. The child takes it, excitement written all over her face, holds it beside her ear and shakes it, trying to figure out what is inside. The doctor chuckles.
Cosima watches her niece interact with the blonde doctor, standing a few feet away. She pops open a beer bottle using the butt of her plastic lighter. This was a trick she learned back in Berkeley after going to all of her ex’s gigs and shows. Nobody ever brought a swiss knife or a pocket bottle opener and the bars were so shitty and packed that the baristas never bothered to open all of the beers they serve. She wasn’t an alcohol drinker by any means, just the occasional wine or champagne glass during important celebrations; her admission to the University of California, her graduation from her bachelor’s degree, her graduation from her masters degree, birthdays and holidays.
It’s been years since she last heard that pop and following sizzling of carbon dioxide.
Wow. Huh. Glad to see I could still do that.
Cosima takes a sip of the beer and immediately regrets it as the bitter taste assaults her tongue.
“Oi-oi, Cosima.”
Felix’s voice greets her. He and Sarah had arms around each others’ shoulder like a drunken pair of sailors or conjoined twins at the side. Felix throws his other arm around her neck.
Now they were conjoined triplets.
“We’re sorry. We suck.”
The Brit siblings apologize perfectly in sync. Cosima wonders if they rehearsed that.
“Did you guys rehearse that?”
Sarah and Felix turn to look at each other then look at her.
“Yes.”
They say this again simultaneously that it makes Cosima snort, laughing. The two Brits smile.
“Well, look at you lot. Just the three stooges, aren’t ya?”
The matriarch comes up to them, a smile in her voice and a twinkle in her eye. She folds her arms in front of her and raises an eyebrow, silently asking what this sudden love fest was about.
“Oh, I’d like to think we’re the three musketeers. That’s just so much more badass.”
Cosima pipes up, chuckling. Sarah rolls her eyes at her sister. What a very Cosima thing to say.
“Dork."
Sarah teases and Cosima sticks her tongue out at her sister.
"I’d rather we’re the Charlie’s Angels. I’m Drew Barrymore, of course… or we can be the Totally Spies.”
Felix delivers the real punchline. The two sisters burst out laughing. Felix wiggles his eyebrows. S just smiles and shakes her head.
“Mum! Look!”
Kira catches their attention. The child comes running to the four adults who love her most, holding the present she received from her newfound friend, the neighborhood veterinarian. Delphine follows a few steps behind the child.
“Monkey! The doctor gave you a present, yeah? Did you thank her?”
Kira hugs Sarah’s hip.
“Of course I did, mummy.”
The adults laugh at Kira’s response. Of course she did. Their little monkey was too smart to not know the basic pleasantries demanded in society.
Delphine looks at all of them and the picture of this family overflowing with love for each other brings her joy and completes her day. The French doctor thinks about her own family, how her own was always so prim and proper and never as warm.
Mrs. S. looks at Delphine and then to Cosima, getting a bloody good idea in her head.
If her foster daughter and son sucked so bad at winging Cosima, then she was going to take the damn role for herself. Lord knows the woman deserves better than Felix and Sarah’s embarrassing attempts. She turns to the French doctor.
“Delphine, would you mind staying for drinks and dinner after the party? Just as a thank you for coming today and making Kira so happy.”
Cosima turns to the woman that’s also become a mother to her for the last five years.
Oh no. What are you up to, Mrs. S?
The matriarch catches Cosima’s look and gives her a wink.
If anything, Siobhan Sadler’s got this.
P.S. I was rewatching Season 1 and that's how I got the idea of including Kira's accident in the fic. I am mulling over introducing Helena into this story because I just love her so much but I can't quite figure out how. If anybody has suggestions, please feel free to pitch them to me! You will be credited, should I incorporate it into the work. For now, that's just an idea and I won't be attempting to include it whatsoever. Thank you for reading and the next update will come in a few days' time!

Hey so, from now on I'm going to set these polls at 3 days. I did some calcs and it would take around 7 months to finish the whole list if every poll was 1 week and I wanna speed things along.
Also the next poll for LMAHFES will happen the next day after the poll ends (unless something comes up and I am unable to make a poll).
Anyways, final day to vote for who will be the protag.

Something really long...
Hello, can I ask for a bit of help? I know I’m a feeler, if I’m a thinker than I have really bad skills. I’m definitely a P, but this does not correlate with cognitive functions. I would never be able to all my life sit in a room locked without any communication, exchange of opinions, without anything from external world, I mean books, films, tv series and all of that, but human communication drains me, at the same time, it always depends on person or people, usually the more people, the quicker I’m tired, so probably I. I would say I’m more introspective than most people I know, I really like to get into deeper things into my psychic, but cognitive function vise it’s either I have too much doubt or I just don’t see myself in those words. I usually say I’m XSFJ, it’s like the most comfortable type, everyone will believe you, and it’s the easiest to prove when you’re a feeler. What can I say, I’m a chicken.
I’m the one who turns around in class and tells a joke that suddenly popped up in my mind to their friend, but I’m also the one who notices how that friend reacts to that joke – do they react to it and joke about something similar or if they just laugh because it’s polite and they don’t want to make you uncomfortable, but it still does, even if it has nothing personal in the background of this laugh.
I’m a mix of Poe from Kung Fu Panda, Peter from the new Spider-Man movie and a girl from movie called Brooklyn. I’m upbeat, cheerful, especially if I feel comfortable around people surrounding me, I want to entertain and be entertained, I don’t like conflicts, I never knew what to do in them, I can know what I had to say after some time, but not on the spot, I rarely know what to say on the spot, unless I am really ready to fight for the thing that made me mad and I don’t care about anything else only to win a fight, prove my point about something. Yesterday and today some things happened that were minor but still wrong, considering my personal space and how women and man communicate. For the first thing I know that people didn’t want anything bad but universally it was not right to do what they did, but I knew if I’d make a comment, I would be the bad one, the one who made a fuss about nothing and made a conflict, and I didn’t want that. I didn’t wanted to be excluded from the group, humiliated by someone who speak lauder than me or who is heard more. I want harmony not because I value other peoples’ feelings and opinions, or because I care and want to connect emotionally with them, oh no, they are total strangers for me, but I love to be in an entertaining surrounding, being accepted means it’s useful, you get to know and see more, people talk and joke around you and you get important information and help if you need it. Being nice and enjoyable in social situations is useful. To the second thing, about communication, I really just wanted to lash out and tell that person how wrong he is, how he made assumptions about me knowing nothing about situations and that he is being wrong here. And I didn’t want him to make wrong assumptions about me. Why? I don’t know, it’s not like it’s my problem, it’s not me who got the facts wrong and feels like they are the smartest one here, it does not affect me any way, but at the same way, it does, the way that person sees me affects how he treats me, and I see know after this incident that I don’t want to do anything with them and that I will never change their mind.
These things that I write here is how I open up, I tell stories, I talk about something I experienced, I like when typology theory comes with examples, it’s easier to understand for me, even thou I know examples can’t be universal because people are different all around the globe.
I feel that showing how I feel in words and voice tones are more valuable that telling someone I’m mad or angry. I’m expressive, I like expressive jokes and movies, sitcoms.
I make decisions about what is most sensible, most logical and smart thing to do depending on what the issues are that I need to solve. I can’t just take things how they are this way, like I can’t take it that we do this only this way. Please tell me why, even if I won’t remember it, I will still know that I heard it at some time and it will vaguely be there in my head. But I also don’t really care about why and how people think. It’s too terrifying, to think that people kill each other and become psychopaths without any reason at all, that it can be genetically decided and nothing would change that.
I did a lot of things because I wanted, not because they were meaningful or anything, but just because at that moment I wanted. It’s kind of childish and uncontrollable, so I became more cautious and I always ask myself do I really need this, and it works usually if I don’t want something really bad.
When I’m stressed, I don’t think about hundred different ways things can go wrong, that’s what I do naturally every day. I believe I can naturally see more than one side f situation and it makes me doubtful and never sure of myself. I want to hide in the bathroom or bedroom and forget everything.
I’m really bad with details, with names, dates, and birthdates. I have a trip in two weeks, and my cousin is already questioning at what time I’ll be there, and I think that there is so much time till it happens that I didn’t even started thinking yet, and I don’t have the answer and things can change. I’m the last minute gal. I’m more about what’s right in front of me or how it appears to me, to my mind, which is constantly bored, even when going to sleep, especially then. When I listen to music I don’t see or imagine any vision, idea or story, I don’t see anything tangible in my minds’ eye, but I always hold onto the feeling that it evokes in me.
Thank you for your help, you’re amazing, I’m sorry if this is longer than these usually are.
No problem at all. Based on what you have written, you sound like a Te user at some points, like when you said you didn’t avoid conflict because you care about other people’s feelings but because it’s useful. You also say you don’t really care about why people do what they do, which kinda rules out Ti. You sound pretty practical and pragmatic. I think you’re also definitely a feeler since you are so aware of people dynamics, without necessarily meaning you use Fe.
Based on your expressiveness and your preference for examples, I’d say you’re a sensor and most likely ISFP, but feel free to let me know if and why you disagree or ask questions. I’d like to ask this myself however: how much do you identify with SFJ descriptions and functions? Since you say that is the type you usually assign yourself.
I’ll let Charity reblog or edit this and add her opinion as well.
She usually replies to these but I really wanted to help you as well. I have answered to some fan letters like this. I really enjoy reading the “type me” posts you send and trying to come up for a type for you based on what you say and the way you write, so even if my conclusions aren’t very accurate, I’d still like to help.
-Rose, ISFJ Mod.
