he is always seeking for reassurance, for approval, for love. always hungry, always running after something that seems just out of reach. this is a boy so desperate for anything real, anything that will make him feel like a real person.

she is the one constant in his life. the one person that has always been there… she bore him, he came into the world covered in her blood. the relationship between a child and its mother is as real as it gets, right? a mother only has her child's best interest in heart, right?

his mother has always been there. he cannot remember a time where she wasn't there. and she will always be there, until the end (that he does not know yet).

and for her… this is her boy. the manifestation of her father's ambitions. the manifestation of her sacrifice. but he is her boy and she loves him so much. but she killed him. she killed him by crowning him. because what could you love so much, that killing it would make the sun rise again, if not your firstborn?

it's crazy how shima and frankenstein's monster are alike in so many ways. both were held to high expectations by their creator/parent to become an ideal that they ultimately failed to fulfill. both were perceived a certain way by society so strongly they eventually surrendered to it. both have never been seen for who they really are for their whole lives. both are alone, miserably alone.
