Fitz had been hanging in the nets towards the ceiling of training centre for a while, watching the other tributes, trying to find their weaknesses, and their strengths. He'd been watching River for a little too long though, he knew her better than any of the rest of them, he didn't need to study her, yet here he was, eyes fixated as she built one of her traps.

He took an elastic band from his wrist, one he kept to tie his hair back when it got in the way, and he aimed it, pulled it back between two fingers and let it spring right down onto her forehead. He didn't know why he'd done it, he only usually fought with her when there was a reason to fight, mostly theft, but now, she hadn't stolen anything, she' been minding her own business, but he couldn't help it, and he couldn't run, nowhere to hide, he just hung there waiting for her to look up, waiting for a reaction he seemed a little desperate to get.

These are your first steps.

A voice beckons to her as her fingers curled about the hilt of the foreign weapon. It's timbre is reassuring, despite the complete lack of familiarity.

Instantly, Rey's grip falters and the scavenger throws herself backwards. For with that breath of words appeared with horrifying flashes, nightmareish in nature- shadowy figures, death, destruction, and screaming. Oh, if she lived to be three trillion years old, she would never be able to rid herself of the SOUND. It reverberated in every one of her bones. Blinking back frightened tears, the Jakku-native quaveringly demands. "Wh--who are you? Wh--- what do you WANT from me? What if I don't want anything to do with this?" Then summoning up more courage, she adds. "I'm never touching that THING again."

Elsa licked her lips, looking away nervously. “No… um… no you really didn’t.” She admitted softly. “What you just saw me do… I really did freeze a path over the river so I could cross it quickly,  and melted it before the ruffians could follow.” The white blonde could only stare awkwardly at the ground for so long before she knew she had to look up at the flabbergasted man again. She supposed it made sense. The Arendelle family lived in York City, and her businessman father had always been a vocal supporter of King George. With the death of himself and his wife in a shipwreck, and no sons, Elsa inherited the business. Most people assumed she inherited her father’s politics as well. What almost no one knew was that she had a particular condition that left her wary of throwing in behind either side. Unfortunately, it seemed that this innocent gentleman traveling to Brooklyn had stumbled upon her secret as well. “I’m sorry if I almost melted it under your feet. I didn’t think you would be following… but I could hardly leave you behind with those fiends.”

Hannah, still adjusting to the billeting of the Queen's Rangers and the imprisonment of her twin brother, finds herself startling at the brashness of other's inquiry.

A sharp inhale is drawn into the depths of Hannah's lungs as charcoal grey eyes dwell upon him and his weaponry. "I'm a quaker." She tremulously confesses, though it is probably obvious by the simpleness of their home. "I do not believe in violence. Yours nor the rebels. To choose either side is a sin." Quivering fingers trench in her skirts. Though, she does dare to take a closer look at his rifle. "Mister Smith, does my father know you've brought this into our house?"

Do you get the impression the live action is treating us like utter morons?? Like I thought that making it aimed at an older audience would open the doors for more subtle story telling, but no, they're just using monologues to tell us eveything! Like in the second episode Katara's like 'oh his power isn't that he's the avatar, it's that he ~connects~ to people'. Girl we're not idiots we can see that!! And the first episode with Aang's goddawful 'I don't want this responsibility' monologue

THIS, YES. The word that keeps coming to mind is definitely "subtlety". The show for literal children? Had it. The remake for adults? Not so much.

I want. Four to get appreciation. Because

Four gave a ton of unnoticed help when Twilight was injured

The fight with Wild was difficult, and I know we're all concerned about his negative view of the shadow crystal

But Four did something that no one else really thought of to help- He took care of Twi's stuff

From the beginning he told Twilight to not worry about them

So Four took care of pretty much everything but the others (that Sky and Wars handled)

He took care of Epona

Which is so very important- he took care of Twilight's horse. After her arrival at the stable Four followed up on her

And for Epona, a horse so attached to her human, having some company can help so much for reassurance

He took care of Twilight's stuff

He got Twi's shield- his bags and equipment, and organized it into one place

And he was worried. He obviously found the shadow crystal while handling Twi's stuff, but his negative reactions to it were out of concern.

Also- because of his placement in this scene

I'm fairly convinced Four was ready to start cooking before Wild showed up (since he's beside the counter with food supplies). At the very least he had the basket of fruit out for everyone -but he was literally standing with food behind him- he thought of everything

And he did housekeeping!

Wars payed for the inn, so Four took care of the inn

Realistically these boys were probably not too concerned with tidyness. Four got all of Twi's things on one table, and took care of the room they stayed in

Organizing tables and Twi's things, having food supplies ready, and opening the curtains- overall he was the one tidying up the inn

Four helped in a huge way! He took care of Twi's horse (Epona is so important), his equipment and shield and bag, as well as the other rooms in the inn

Four filled in all the little tasks that others didn't think of. He helped in ways that were needed, but not obvious

There's a lot of problems with the shadow crystal and with Wild, and I don't know what's gonna happen in the future

But don't forget this- don't forget that Four was one who stepped up in an almost unnoticeable way

Don't forget that when everyone was barely holding it together, Four visited Twilight's horse and took care of his things

No matter what develops in the future- this amount of care shown is important ya know?

Hi!! I don't know if anyone has drawn this before (sorry if they have!! I couldn't find any evidence of it) but I have recently been plagued with the question of "what if Machete and Vasco were in Bluey?"

Well. Now we know.

To my knowledge, the only Bluey dogs who wear clothes are the ones in uniforms. TECHNICALLY Machete's outfit could count, but I left it out because it's not typical of a main character. He must be naked 😔

The funny thing about dadmare is that Nightmare has no idea what a parent-child relationship is like because he effectively didn't have one. So when someone tries to tease him by saying he's being a dad and he denies it, he's being 100% honest

"Stillborn? No, still born" Danyal au -- VLAD MASTERS THE BITCH HIMSELF

*Points at Vlad* THIS MFER GOT SOME TEEFS TO HIM. !! Okay okay, Vlad Masters in the stillborn au is different compared to most of my other aus in the fact that I am far more heavily leaning into his original ambitions of wanting a family and being desperately lonely. Because you know what wanting a family implies? Wanting to be a parent.

Fucked up father figure that could've been Vlad. Complicated love-hate relationship between the only two halfas in existence.

Danny hates Vlad, but he hates even more that he's genuinely considered his offers of mentorship. Vlad is the only halfa around, and they both have fire cores. Danny has these powers he doesn't understand, can barely comprehend some days, and can't control. But Vlad does. Vlad can. And Vlad wants to help him. He's the only other person who can get close whenever Danny runs too hot. Whenever his igneous hair cracks, splits, and spits back out into magma and his friends can't get close, Vlad can.

His hair is made of magma, which runs so hot that people need specialized suits in order to get near it. He physically cannot get close to the living as a ghost unless he's calm enough for his hair to cool into igneous rock. Which isn't as often as he would like. And sometimes he's too hot for other ghosts to get near unless they have fire cores -- which Vlad has.

There have been many times when Danny's having a meltdown (literally) and gone somewhere to be alone, to let his anger and hurt and loneliness overflow and spill out, that when he's come back to, Vlad's right there with him as an anchor. It's desperately frustrating, it's the only time they can get along. They don't say anything, Danny just turns and clings onto the only person he can touch as a ghost.

Its not fair. Vlad wants to kill his foster dad, and Danny can't let him do that. But he wants to be trained by the man, he wants his help and wants what he can offer. But Vlad can't step away from his revenge long enough to let him. It's just not fair. He thinks for a moment that maybe it could work, and then Vlad does something to remind him that no, it can't.

Vlad Masters sees too much of himself in Daniel Brown -- from the way he holds himself, to the defenses he puts up, his quiet anger that builds and builds and builds until it explodes. That simmers beneath his skin. All the way down to the fact that they have matching cores. This boy is cut from the same cloth as him, and by god does he want to help him. He's always wanted to be a father, and Daniel Brown is too much like him for him to ignore. He genuinely, truly cares about Danny and his wellbeing.

He wants to help him, child just let him help you. Let him kill your foster dad so he can adopt you himself and help with these powers that terrify and intrigue you -- he knows what that's like to have something that you can't control, to have a heat that you can't cool down from. "We're in the same boat you and I, let him help you please."

But his methods are all wrong, and Danny is too much like him -- stubbornness and all -- for him to agree when they oppose each other so greatly. But again, Danny is much like him -- which means that Vlad is equally stubborn, and in every single one of their fights he's parental. He's annoyingly parental. He drops his interest in Maddie to focus his efforts in trying to coax Danny onto his side. It's like trying to get a traumatized cat to trust you, and on some levels it works. It's like he makes some progress, and then moves too quickly and the cat immediately runs off and you have to start back from square one.

TL:DR; Vlad and Danny both want to find family in each other but they're too different to get along and ultimately they are doomed by the narrative to be at constant odds with one another unless one of them is changes, and it doesn't matter who.

Timid, barefeet pad along to cool marble floors of the strangers palace. "H-- he-- hello?" Melody tremulously beckons. "Is-- is anyone h-- he--here?" The ebony-haired young woman ventures even deeper into the corridor. "I-- I don't mean to... intrude..." This was the only shelter for miles and miles. She ought to know, she searched for what seemed like hours.

Her arms bar over her slender, sopping and shivering frame. "I -- I just need shelter from the storm." Behind the massive doors, the wind howled warningly and the thunder was so intense it seemed to rumble the entire earth.

Cal's monolithic syllables weave together in an inbecilic blur. Stifled and trapped, Rose feels the insufferable room closing in on her with startling speed. A sense of PANIC rockets upwards, spiking from the heart to her throat with SUFFOCATING speed. The taste of it is acrid as it LINGERS upon the breadth of her tongue. And it BURNS until the only INSTINCT she has left is to FLEE, to put as much physical distance between her and her PRESENT company.

Her feet shuffle briskly from the STUFFY dinning room, and they gather momentum against the wooden decking until she is moving at an all out BOLT. The runaway heiress does not dare to break the cadence NOT even to avoid collision with a gentleman. That is, until she hits the STERNS railing.

The music of the dinner inside the marvelous ships doors is drowned, swallowed by the volumeous THRUM of CHURNING props. It's just as well!! The droning of the band only battered the remnants of her increasingly negative thoughts.

Not the salted-sea air, nor the romance of stricken moonlight upon the waves, can calm the turbulence in her soul. Eternity stretched on before her, more VAST and EMPTY -- much like the STARLESS night.

Rose's hands flare out in front of her, seizing hold of the frigid, freshly painted bars. Within seconds, she finds herself HOISTING herself upwards.

Standing upon the railing, she can almost feel the INCESSANT vibrancy of the VESSEL'S ENERGY. The contrast mangles quite easily with her own violent heartbeat.

Tearful cerulean orbs are cast DOWNWARDS, between sprays of copper-lashes, into the restless and foaming INDIGO seas. And for but a second, Rose dares to contemplate how welcoming a change that FALLING would be.

It is then, Rose becomes aware of a presence, an interloper on her solitude, hovering over her shoulder, just beyond her field of vision. "Don't come any CLOSER!" She hastily commands, though her voice does tremble with great agony.

REAL!! he’s such a hypocrite because if someone mentioned you had a work husband, his entire world would stop and he wold devise the absolute worst plans to make sure that your co-worker, everyone at your job, and everyone in the next building over knew that he was happily committed to you 

but if he is the work husband, he’s very........ dutiful in his role. there’s a loose office/lawyer au in my head where satoru is your secretary, and for all intents and purposes, your personal assistant, and he’s good at his job, but mostly because he considers his job to be pleasing you. he has coffee for you when you arrive, he moves your schedule around without you asking, he has answers to questions before you can even ask them, he has fresh flowers on your desk weekly, pokes into your meetings to pretend to hand you a file that’s really just maybe a single document in a manilla folder with candy on top of it—he’s made himself your business, your partner; he’s made himself irreplaceable, and he loves to remind everybody of that fact. 

he’s also extremely loyal. sure, he could day a week’s worth of work done in about a day, but that doesn’t mean he’ll just use his talents for anybody. he’s your secretary, so he’s at your beck and call, and everyone knows it. they know he’s the best, but also that he’s off limits—not because you won’t share him, but because satoru won’t let himself be shared. 

he also extends his duties beyond work, of course. when he hands you a print out of your schedule for the day and you’re confused by the three-hour block of time you have in the middle of the day, satoru just helps you shrug your coat of your shoulders and smiles, “that’s for the lunch date you have with me, of course!” hanging up your coat in your closet for you, “i’m paying, see you soon, sweets.” and because you’re great at your job, and satoru helps you be great, nobody really questions when the two of you have time for a 13-course tasting menu at 1pm on a tuesday afternoon. and if they did, all satoru would say that you two had a lovely date
