Just realized how much I love the way you write your Miguel. Like instead of oversexualizing, making him animalistic or just straight up a dick (even tho he kindof is sometimes, let's be honest-)

I just love how you dive in his current trauma (not too long ago his mom got zombified like marvel give bro a break plz), include trust issues and his mental problems, while not breaking his character. You made him stubborn, a little proud, but still show slight vulnerability, and so many unsaid words. Hell, you might be one of the best Miguel writers I've ever seen on here!

I love the slow burn in NC, it makes Miguel seem more like a real person, with unbearable trauma and trust issues, who's main way to 'cope' is "by leading a society of Peter Parkers who can't pay their rent on time" (from the ATSV artbook), and as someone with a mental health too similar to Miguel's I can see myself in him (THAT'S A COMPLIMENT) with a slow build of trust

While I sometimes do enjoy a bit of smut, most of the time, it's too fast. Too quick, like- CALM DOWN LADIES (and gents), I DON'T THINK MIGUEL'S GONNA EAT YOU OUT ON THE COUNTER IN THE KITCHEN LIKE EMPANADAS

But omg, thank you!! I appreciate the kind words so much, and I’m happy that you love NC!Miguel and the slow burn! 🥹 Also, I’m glad you appreciate the acknowledgement of Miguel’s issues, traumas, and mental state within the fic. I’m no expert; no psychologist nor professional writer, but as the story expanded, I decided that I’d like to dive into Miguel’s story a little more, this being a Spider-Man Miguel fic after all, and one that’s attempting to portray Miguel as realistic as possible (or at least the way I see him and think he’d be like), so that entails including his issues, traumas, and mental state, too.

I know this has led to some chapters being a little delicate, overwhelming, and/or sad (and I’m sorry to anyone who has ever felt down or cried reading NC because they resonated with this content, or the emotions got a little too much. This has never been my intention ):), but I believe it’s important to address, especially because his issues, traumas, and mental state overall are big contributors to his behaviour and mindset in ATSV. As I said, I’m no expert, but just from what I learned in college and have learned throughout the years with personal experiences (seen close people dealing with similar issues like those Miguel has faced and is facing), I know healing from such traumas is important to move forward with life. I also know it takes time, which is a big reason why this fic is a slow burn.

I want Miguel to find himself in a healthy and positive mindset, learn to trust others, and know that he is worthy of love and friendships before he finds himself in a romantic relationship. I’ve yapped too much, but I’m glad that you appreciate that, even though these can be sensitive themes/discussions. Thank you! Also, I’m touched that you can see yourself in NC!Miguel and how he slowly begins to allow himself to trust someone. I hope that as the story progresses, you can continue to see yourself in him in a non-harmful way (I never wish to portray mental health negatively nor disrespect/offend someone)! 💖

And hehehe, your comment about the smut and empanadas has me laughing! 🤣 But I hope you can find more fics with a slower pace regarding that aspect though! But the question I need to know is Wolfstar - virtually canon or a fan fever dream?

Please base this on your experiences as an OG fan and not in the hellscape that modern Wolfstar has become!

I’ve always liked wolfstar, I think it’s fun, but it’s not my be all end all! Also, a lot of the newer wolfstar seems to have changed the Remus and Sirius characters a ton, which is interesting to me because the characters were a good match without the gradual fanon interpretation in the last five years.

Anyways, based on what canon gives, I have my own opinion on all four marauders below:

James is Straight. He dates girls, loves girls, and marries Lily aka HIS SOULMATE. The man honestly took one look at Lily and said “I’m gonna be an idiot for the rest of my life just for her” and I support that jocks choices with every fiber of my being. That being said, I love reading modern AUs with bi James as long as he’s not with R3gul*s, Sn8pe, or other Slytherins who join the DE. I’d be defending Prongsfoot faster than I’d get with wolfstar tbh

Sirius is Asexual. He don’t give two flying fucks. I have one sentence in the entire series to go off of for this so no one get mad at me if you think I’m delulu for this one okay. I like my delulu land where Sirius is asexual even if everyone else in this fandom wants him with Remus or Marlene McKinnon. let me have more asexual Sirius in more fics!!! fellow asexual Sirius writers help me out with this plz!!!!

Remus is Straight. I mean, he doesn’t stand up to his school buds when they’re being dicks because he likes being included, he falls in love with a manic pixie dream girl despite her being younger than him by several years, he desperately needs therapy due to PTSD but doesn’t go, he turns into a wolf once a month but is honestly probably so hairy even when it’s not the full moon, he has a baby and immediately forgets child support is a thing because he wants to run off to war with his dead best friends kid…I mean… idk. Don’t get me wrong I love Remus Lupin, my stupid son, but he screams straight to me.

Peter is Gay. I definitely think closeted so he dated girls to keep up with the straight persona. I don’t think this is a widespread thing that people agree with; I just have a personal head canon that he is actually in love with James due to the way he’s described by the adults in canon HP and the way he is depicted in the flashbacks in canon HP. Plus it makes his betrayal more fueled by something other than being a big baby coward. And I mean he still is a big baby coward, but I’d like more emotional depth with my betrayal plots.

Either way the point is. Y'all be going about these characters and their dynamics so wrong. And i feel people just want different characters than what is actually happening. Like go make an oc at that point. It's different when they dont have certain dynamics shown and aspects. (Most mk villains dont because they are treated majority of the time as guys to beat up. So they aren't like sub and scorp. Which is shown.....everywhere,all the time,and takes up a majority of the plot. So we know all there is about yellow n blue ninja clans. Even then it doesn't go into that much detail but still we get more insight with them than any other character. Even liu kang and kung lao don't have as much as the two posterboys of mk. Which sucks)

Shipping aside. It sucks that both subzeros(kuai and bi-han) and scorpion(hanzo) get so grossly misinterpreted by fans. And think that everything is hunky dory peaches and roses. When it really isn't. While neither clan after a certain point is warring or fighting each other. There still is tension. Simply because of years,decades even of the mess left behind. Hanzo has to rebuild from the ground up. And kuai has to repair and restore the lin kuei to what it used to be but better and more equal. And less....robotic. lol. There was still a lot of work. Not to mention if noob became bi-han subzero again,somehow. That would add even more awkward tension(good storytelling tho) because bi-han while maybe he could forgive hanzo,he could never be friends truly. And if you guys ship kuai and hanzo. I dont think kuai would feel comfortable with having his only damn brother he's worked so hard to bring back and rekindle his family with just so he cpuld get some dick. Im sorry,relationships dont work that way. Hanzo and kaui are family oriented,and if one or more of parties involved are not on equal playing field or cares for the other. It's a no go.

What im trying to say is the dynamic is not healthy,long lasting,or even worth it. There is not any good chemistry.

Until bi-han and hanzo in canon make amends. Only then could you MAYBE. JUST MAYBE. Make that work.

Tomas/smoke and kuai liang subzero. Works better. Because they not only like i said are from the same clan,grew up together. Bi-han more likely than not. Would understand tomas and actually be pretty cool with him.

A ship I have with said character: Yanqing <3. I should write more about it btw. I had a plan for a huuuuge canon-divergence AU where Jiang Cheng stands by Wei Wuxian when he saved the Wens, thus Wwx stays with the Jiang Sect, and I don’t remember how but it included Yan Qing.

I hear you I hear you “they don’t even speak in the show/book” like YEAH but hear me out. Wen Qing is an oldest sibling. She has always been burdened with the responsibility for others, and taught to put her younger siblings needs before hers. Who understands that best ? Yanli. Who tells people that they matter, cares for them and listens to them ? Yanli. And it would be reciprocated because Wen QIng also knows how to listen to people.

Wen Qing heals people, Yanli knows people. Yanli at some point did her best to help the injured , and Wen Qing is a doctor. like imagine the power couple. the stuff of LEGENDS. Healer warrior maiden with her super nice girlfriend who will actually turn into a dragon-mama if you dare touch her brothers.

I don’t like Wen Qing x Jiang Cheng either, because I feel like they are both way too... headstrong and stubborn to be with each other? When I imagine them together I can only see poor communication and cataclysmic fights.

A random headcanon: She regrets not having learned to play an instrument, and likes reading books.

General Opinion over said character: “queen !”. and that fate was cruel to her. lesbians and bi people be like “!!!wife!!”. also people who have read the novel state she should not have been Jiang Cheng’s love interest.   I who had not read the book wasn’t bothered that much by it since I felt the way it was depicted fit the characters. A bit off topic but i’ll explain : It seemed like a one sided-crush on Jiang Cheng’s part who was just like “whomst be this fair maiden with a sword I have set my eyes on”, while Wen Qing’s feelings seemed to remain pretty “cool”, although she cared for him as she did for all her former classmate-friends (although she would totally deny it).

Yuuya’s actually incredible with kids, or just… anyone younger then him. He’d “babysit” Sakuya a lot when they were way younger and Sakuya hadn’t processed his Father’s ideals yet (which wasn’t proper babysitting since Yuuya wasn’t much older then Sakuya, but still) and has essentially been single-handedly ensuring the Pigeonation infirmary runs smoothly at times (i.e. helping kids who might have annoyed Shuu/been a prime experiment target for Shuu, keeping Anghel the fuck away from Shuu, being a more calming nurse to help anyone who was too scared to deal with Shuu… yeah) and thus has been good with those only a bit younger then him… most certainly helps take care of Miru and Kaku a lot…. So yeah, very good with kids. He wouldn’t really think of himself as good with em, but he’d be a fantastic babysitter if ya ever needed one

1. Claude’s definitely got quite a few scars on him that never properly healed, just from all sorts of random scraps and stuff he’s been in. We know he’s had to deal with some racism from both Almyrans and Fodlans which is exactly why he covers his identity, has commented on having to learn to lick his wounds, but like… That may have just been a saying, but I’m willing to bet it means he’s genuinely gotten some physical abuse for being half-almyran half-eastern fodlan, honestly, so like… That probably leaves  some nasty scars on a guy. 

2. More upbeat of a headcanon, Claude messes with all sorts of weird shit as a natural schemer!  He’s made poisons and fucked with all sorts of traps, and a bunch of stuff like that!

If he’s certain something aint lethal or serious? Sometimes he’ll just. test if it’ll work on himself, just like. “Hmmm. This one will make me feel super sick in about a week. I’ll chug it now, and head to the infirmary the second anything starts to feel wrong, see if it works out like it’s supposed to.” better then letting anyone in on his schemes after all >:3c

dear lord i don’t participate in fandom enough to know what’s popular opinion and what isn’t….

i DO know however that i’ve seen too much “haha claude’s just the funny meme man! he’s not as deep as [insert my favorite house leader here] but we love him because Goofy Boi” from Dimitri stans and Edelgard stans, and I’m just here to tell yall

i am fully prepared to slaughter if i hear that one more time. claude’s backstory and intrigue might not be as in your face as the other two, but he’s a superb, deep, and intriguing character too and taking him (or any character in three houses, really) just at face value is doing an extreme disservice of a lot of the intricacies of the writing in this game

….ALSO also i think i’ve seen folks complain about Claude’s ending with Byleth not being more ‘romantic?’ but. I really like it. The fact he comes back once he has his goals completed shows his true devotion and loyalty, but…. any of the endings where he steps down from position as king of Almyra feel more Yikes to me, cause those are the ones that just feel very against his character. He’s a goal-focused man, he’s not just gonna step down. The Claudleth End feels more natural; he’s still devoted, he still comes back for Byleth, but also he’s not giving up on his goals that are what’s truly the most important thing to him. Sacrificing character motivations for ship isn’t romantic. Figuring out how to manage your motivations and romance is.

So, since I love reasearching about characters, I did my research and found out a few things. Like, that Angel is Gay (*gasp* who would've thought?), Charlie Bi, Vaggie a Lesbian and Alastor Asexual. And I also found out that Vaggie and Charlie are Canonly a couple. So I went nuts with the crossover again. And decided to make a short comparison to each one’s Sexuality. Also: I wonder if it would be possible/alright/fitting if All Might and Sir Nighteye are a Couple in this crossover bc of Charlie and Vaggies relationship. (More to that is in the Explanation All Might and Sir Nighteye)

Now onto the explanation!:

Midnight: I made her straight, even tho I planned on making her lesbian, that means the reversed thing, but then I noticed that angel has only talked and flirted with men so far, so I saw no other choice than to make her straight. It’s 4 AM, time to wax philosophic about Overwatch lore, and fiction lore in general.

This is going to get long and pointless. Let me tell you why I love that Blizz is so shit at Overwatch lore.

It’s no secret that Overwatch lore is sparse, vague, and sometimes doesn’t even seem to make sense with regard to a cohesive timeline. I see people clamoring for more lore, better lore, something to be solidified by Blizzard, and that’s a-okay, y’all interact with your hobbies and interests the way you like!

But for me? I hope that Blizzard happily just churns out more characters or whatever they want to do without actually establishing much more lore for any of the currently existing characters, and I’ll tell you why.

Have you ever been reading a book you loved, and you’re about to the last chapter, and you force yourself to stop reading simply because you want it to last longer, to imagine what might happen next without knowing? 

Have you ever had a movie come out of your favorite book and find that the person they cast as a character “isn’t right at all” as far as you’re concerned?

So much of my personal enjoyment of a world, story, character, etc. comes not from what we do know, but what we don’t. I want a character to be a scaffold, an outline, a framework. Just enough information to begin to sketch an idea, and from there it is up to each fan to complete the picture in their own mind’s eye.

Is that character an orphan? Up to you! Religious? You decide! Gay? Maybe, what do you think? 

While there are absolutely people who can just ignore canon, there are many people (myself included) who can’t look past canon once it has been established. That is ‘the way it is.’

Growing up I was a huuuuuuge fan of Lara Croft, being the upcoming little lesbian I was, and I loved that she was so independent and I didn’t have some het romance shoved down my throat. Then the movies came out, and the games of the early 2000s.  Enter Alex West and Kurtis Trent, two male love interests for Lara. Exit my interest in the series.

I was crushed. I didn’t need Lara to be canonically gay, I just needed her to not be canonically straight. Ambiguity was my friend. (Yes, as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized bi/pan is a thing, but I was young and naive.) 

For those who haven’t picked up the new Tomb Raider reboots, they make it pretty clear, IMO, that Lara is gay. I was elated. 

But then I went to the forums and saw countless threads upset about Lara’s apparent queerness. LARAS NOT GAY people claimed. But of course she was! It was even in the game!

And at first I laughed. Finally the straights knew how I felt all these years. Finally it was My Time.

But then I remembered just how disappointed I was those years ago, and realized they might suddenly be feeling the same way. Their idea of a character they loved just as much as I did had been changed overnight by the introduction of new canon facts.

There are a lot of things I worry about with Overwatch lore. I have my idea of who various characters are, themselves and to each other, where they came from, etc., and I can’t imagine Blizzard releasing something that will trump my imaginings. But it might be something that makes you happy. Or makes that guy over there happy. Or maybe it will disappoint all of us.

It’s completely unknown. But what I can know is that if we are left to our own devices, if we get to write the headcanons ourselves with no meddling by frequent updates to lore and canon, we can all happily go about making up our own interpretations without someone telling us “But that’s now how it is though.”

Anyway, this is literally just random thoughts I’m typing, this isn’t “at” anything or anyone, it wasn’t brought up by anything I read. I’m just thinking, because it’s 4 AM and I just love Moira so goddamn much you guys i just love her she’s so perfect plz dont give her a boyfriend blizzard plz

I dunno what I’m doing but I have Feelings so let me rant about them, by me.

Some of y'all may not know that Fruits Basket is my favorite series on the planet– well you do now. That comes with a caveat of favorite manga, not favorite anime (that honor goes to either Noragami or Chihayafuru, with Madoka Magica as an honorable mention). I do also love the anime dearly! But comparing them is like apples and oranges, horses of different colors, etc etc, not least because the anime was made before the manga was barely halfway through. futile hope springs eternal for a full remake. So most of my feels rant will be manga-centric although the general feels apply to the anime, and uh there may be spoilers idk it’s been out for a long time???

The first volume came out in the US five days after my *deep breath* 15th birthday. I got it for the next year’s bday present from my big sis, aaaand that was when the gates of otaku/manga hell swallowed me up (I was somehow unaware that Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh were also Japanese pop culture, go figure.) I have no memory of how I found the anime– my anime-bittorrent-whateverthefuck knowledge was nonexistent but I don’t think it was airing live. I got the box set for some Christmas but that would’ve been after I was a massive fan so *shrug*

Anyway I watched the dub first and holy hell if I wasn’t planning to marry Yuki Sohma before then I definitely was after that, thanks Eric Vale. (I still have huge love for the dub cast fight me). Yun-chan was my first 2D crush and tbqh I’m still in love with him. Also I stg he’s the whole reason why pretty boys are a Big Thing of mine. And wait omg Shigure’s first appearance?! Like, that’s probably why dudes with glasses are also My Thing wow I just blew my own mind but moving on

either gen or romantic is fine! what really does it for me is the development of the relationship, platonic or otherwise. it’s all about the growing intimacy and understanding and character dynamics and interactions and developing trust and finding kinship and growing respect for the other and subconsciously learning to lean on the other over anyone else and--

i love love love enemies-to-reluctant-allies-(to-maybe-friends?)-to-lovers and bickering pairs in general! it’s so much fun and it gives us so many opportunities for character and relationship developments okay i’m a slut for that shit

sticking to the original characterizations and the tone of canon is a definite plus!!!

“missing scenes” and “what if” canon-divergent situations are excellent, as are continuations from where canon left us depending on the fandom! more details on the sections for the respective fandoms i GUESS

casual intimacy is super fun, especially when adapted to the character dynamics. a bickering pair being casually comfortable adds a whole new depth to it, enemy dynamics makes is hilarious since the other half would have zero clue as to how to react, a pair that is already comfortable with each other that they do stuff without communicating is so intimate, mix and match however you like!

fun tropes i enjoy (a bit romance-leaning but if you’re not into that then some of these can probably be adapted): fake dating, accidentally got roped into x and shenanigans of all sorts keep happening, misunderstood confessions, groundhog day au, one or both the characters having stupid levels of denial while technically in a relationship and just not realizing it like What Do You Mean We’re Dating??, that sorta thing.

kidfics. babyfics. next gen fics. pregnancy fics, or even pregnancy discussed in the fic is a major squick of mine. the one exception i make for kidfics is for kids already existent in canon and even then it depends, but no babies or children otherwise please.

future fics/time skips in general, actually. what i enjoy is the relationship development, so huge time skips make me feel like we missed way too much

angst is... mrrmf. it really depends on how it’s done, but usually it feels like it’s angst for the sake of angst instead of giving the fic some actual meat.  as a result of this, i’d pass at least on most content with major character death, sexual abuse, self-harm, gender/sexuality angst, the like. beyond that, feel free to go ahead!

hard AUs are a bit ugh to me. by this i mean AUs that rely heavily on setting, such as high school AUs, harry potter AUs, that sort of thing. i DO however enjoy stuff like soulmate AUs and alternate canon AUs, depending on the concept and on the fandom. more details in their own sections if you enjoy writing those!

i heavily dislike things involving cheating/infidelity, sickfics, and genderbending of any kind is a bit ehhhh for me, as are concepts such as ABO. hard pass on stuff like dysphoria and deep diving into mental illnesses and disorders, too.

script-based or roleplay fic is not really my preferred format, i really enjoy prose instead of nearly all dialogue!

stuff with bigotry in general, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc as well as discussions of it is a pass in general. it’s not a HUGE squick but i’d rather not see it if possible

discussions and thoughts on gender/sexuality. if you’re gonna make them gay/bi/etc, make them gay/bi/etc, no exploration of it added. delving into the psyche of it is a hard pass.

i am 100% aware this is a weird-ass pairing but gods, the possibilities. it has so much potential. there are few things i like quite as much as a villain and a good person developing a strange sort of kinship with each other >u> this doesn’t have to mean a romantic development, if it’s not your thing! as i said, for me it’s the building understanding and reluctant respect that i really love, far more than the actual romance.

ideas, ideas, ideas. i’m aware this is a rare relationship to either portray or ask for, so i’m gonna try to give some more concrete-ish ones for you to build up on if you have no clue as to how to approach this. 

we could have canonverse with charlotte dealing with the shadowman in some other, unrelated matter while the main plot is occurring, making him feel somewhat guilty about the whole marriage plot with laurence-turned-naveen. cue introspection, or even an entirely different outcome.

or a post-canon sort of hades&persephone plot (please no actual hades and persephone au though), with charlotte curious despite herself and tempted to listen to a shadow/dead/whatever!dr facilier when she’s the only one that can hear him.

in a continuation from above, OR her being dragged Beneath with him in a freak accident and then charming him into helping her back to the surface/living world (very, veeeeery reluctantly on his part, at least at the start, he might have even be thinking of tricking her but then change his mind when the time comes to do it).

i think dr facilier wouldn’t be sure how to deal with charlotte’s particular brand of personality and good humour, and it’d throw him off his rhythm a lot - that sort of thing is always super fun to write.

soulmate au in canon would work pretty well, but with this pairing? you could even do a FULL AU, keeping only basic stuff like the shadowman thing to her normal bougie self; it’s one of her charms. (and their personalities, of course). stuff like charlotte thinking that she wants one thing (her prince-slash-one-true-love, etc) while keeping getting drawn to him time and time again could work on pretty much any era or setting. vice-versa for him, thinking he wants to be rid of her but coming to realize he’d actually miss her if she were to be gone. OR, charlotte deciding she wants this sullen manipulative bastard and manipulating HIM into taking her out and hanging out with her would be hilarious.

if you wanna do nsfw, i have only one major request: charlotte calling the shots/topping. i think this arrangement would be in character for both of them (dr facilier would prob also enjoy having someone else do all the work lol) considering her go-getter attitude, but keeping in mind his manipulative personality i’d be more comfortable if she had some control over what was happening. ASIDE FROM THAT, d’you know what would be fun? a little darkness, and by that i mean consider dr facilier’s shadow joining in on the fun. shadows would also be an interesting sort of constraint. also i know i said charlotte calling the shots, but she can be constrained by the shadows while being amused by it or being used to it (implying it’s not the first time that they’ve used it in bed play and that it’s therefore negotiated), or charlotte could team up with the shadow to do it to facilier instead. charlotte using her nails and facilier being a bit of a sub/masochist would be excellent!

(actually in general it’d be really fun if there was some complicity between charlotte and facilier’s shadow in general, nsfw or otherwise. the shadow being wrapped around her little finger is an excellent concept, especially if facilier isn’t too fond of her just yet OwO)

THE ADDAMS FAMILY

oh boy. let me just begin by saying that this really isn’t my usual kind of pairing, by sheer virtue of them being perfectly happy and established in canon. HOWEVER, they’re goth and they’re odd and they’re kinky and they’re delightful to watch interact (i’m familiar with the movie canon featuring anjelica and raúl and a few (few!) of the comics, so idk about other dynamics) and so they’ve managed to creep their way into my blackened little heart.

THAT BEING SAID, my absolute biggest wish for this fandom would be pre-relationship. i don’t mind if canon is twisted a bit for this, considering that they presumably met and proposed on the very same day, so it’s definitely a bit hard to work with. perhaps some shenanigans with the funeral itself? or gomez has a date/fiancée already and so there’s some juggling of priorities here while he’s absolutely falling over himself in order to continue looking at that gothic vision of a woman? or an old family feud, or them just being downright useless at knowing how to deal with proper romance (on morticia’s side, i’d imagine she’d only grow more stoic and be at a loss of what to say. on gomez’s side, it’s probably his first time being speechless, or he’s not speechless but he’s flirted so much in his life that he doesn’t know what to do with these actual literal feelings, what the hell is this and how does he show he actually means it this time??), or morticia has a long string of dead fiancés black widow-style (i think she and debbie would have gotten along great if given the chance okay), or a soulmate au where they don’t realize it’s each other right away, or morticia amusedly pretends to be dating gomez before they know each other to get him out of a bind, or they’re somehow roped into someone else’s shenanigans and don’t know how to react to each other (my money is on either ophelia or cousin itt putting them in a bind), the sky is the limit!

if you’re more comfortable writing established, however, casual intimacy or smut are the best! give me a moment of respite where they are just comfortable basking in each other’s presence, or when they’re separated for a moment at an event or something and the longing is burning all the way across them until they come back together again (y’know, in the good old way of the script). for smut, morticia being a mostly stoic dom maybe? (though yes, i know she’s very much into being tied up and tortured, i can’t really see her as a normal sub unless it’s really something languid and drawn-out - she doesn’t really read as someone who spends a lot of energy doing things others will do for her). they’re both definitely into pain and bondage too; morticia conflating arousal with hunger would also be really interesting to see (think praying mantis or lady spider who is actually very invested on not taking off her partner’s head, but who dreams of it all the same. gomez is, of course, very much into it). something lowkey macabre would be amazing.

things i’d like to see for this fandom in general are:

morticia being her stoic vampiric goddess of a self

gomez being completely twitterpatted for her as usual

burning sultry glares/staring across the room

overly passionate hand-kissing

creepy/gothic atmosphere

you know, like canon. (with non-existent or minimal kid existence, though)

references to horror stuff/general creepiness like sudden lightning, casual poisonings and dealings with death, dracula references, etc, like the movies would be super fun, as campy as possible! half the greatness of the movies come from these imho

MONSTROUS REGIMENT

i have a confession to make: it’s been a while since i last read it, and so i fear i won’t be as helpful in giving ideas/dynamics for this fandom as i was in the others. 

i have one request - apart from what i’ve already rambled on about above - and that is for at least polly to be portrayed as female (or close enough, although not quite non-binary). to make it clearer: i usually see them both as female, even if not female-presenting (it’s funny because as i was writing this i actually kept writing about maladict as “he” so frankly it’s whatever, i definitely prefer “maladict” to “maladicta” at least in terms of names though) but chaffing to fit the roles that “female” comes along with, especially with maladict and the expectations for female vampires. i’d rather the fic not have gender or sexuality exploration, since like i said above i think it detracts from the meat of the stuff - if you want to see maladict as male, write him male with male pronouns (keeping the female vampire backstory if you’re keeping it canon, otherwise it wouldn’t really make sense). if you want to make her female, write her female with female pronouns. i’d pass on they/them pronouns though. i don’t particularly care either way outside of polly however, just don’t delve into the psyche/introspection of it please.

if you have different views on their genders and it would make you uncomfortable to write female polly or non-they/them maladict, then that’s fine with me as well! these are just my preferences, and i thought i’d elaborate on them since the fandom has many perspectives on this topic. 

with that out of the way, on to more interesting stuff!

what’s good: their interactions. oh dear loki, their interactions. they have my favourite dynamic in the whole book, and they’re weirdly comfortable with each other (especially since polly lowkey threatens maladict after kicking the other dude in the nads, in my view that moment probably got his undead little heart skipping a beat (do vampires have beating hearts on discworld? i haven’t read enough discworld to remember this)) and they understand each other the best out of the rest of the squad. maladict teasing polly and pretending to be cool before polly catches on to him is absolutely hilarious, and i absolutely love maladict trying (and failing!! horribly!!) at being smooth. also polly blackmailing people left and right is absolutely fantastic.

as you can probably guess, i’d love some canon-verse interactions. perhaps alternate scenes or what-ifs of canon events, or even extra scenes during the ongoing plot of the book. OR, post-book, once they have their own squad of little lads and have to figure out how the hell to handle that, or shenanigans where they have some sort of mission or official event elsewhere and resolutely stick together because “if i have to deal with this then so do you”. or some hilarity with maladict desperately going after every coffee grain available so he doesn’t just bury his face on polly’s neck because she smells so good but that would be an awkward conversation to have and he’d rather die (again) than admit to that. 

what else? AUs! feel free to completely tear apart the canon discworld, though i’d request polly remain her ass-kicking clever self and maladict an awkward vampire. maybe maladict has to deal with diaphanous underwired nightgowns. maybe polly has to deal with diaphanous underwired nightgowns. vampire politics? satirical awkward dracula au? maladict failing horribly at being a vampire (failing at being a female vampire or trying to pass at being a male vampire and failing at that, too)? they’re all great! 

what matters to me is their banter and the way they keep falling into pace with each other, regardless of the way they begin. a good dose of sardonical pratchett-style humour would also be welcome ;)

  I mean like - no harm no foul here - people are entirely free to have their own stances in how they perceive fiction, as that perception is based on a person’s own experience.

  E.G: I’m a gay man, and when I enjoy and frankly hella look up to a character; I really appreciate being able to look at said character in a way that reflects myself. And, regardless of what I might want to see in the first place: the fact is that because I see the world through my own two very gay eyes, anything slightly relatable to my own gay-ass life experiences is gonna blatantly stand out to me, while things that would stand out more to an Ace, Bi, or any other orientation of person would not. Vice versa etc etc.

  (Also, I - and I don’t doubt, many other people - don’t really keep up to date with info about the show writers so the kind of information you mentioned is very easy to not be aware of. Besides which, as nothing has been stated in the show itself at all, any HCs are fair game lbr)

TL:DR – HC whatever you want especially if nothing’s confirmed in canon ‘cause we’re all starved of representation anyway - let’s just swap headcanons and have fun cause that’s kinda the point of the whole thing.
