I'm sorry but I keep going back to Tom's confession and how he says "Liam was everything you hated. He was corrupt and twisted like your family."
Like yeah sure he was Tommy and you're just a real upstanding member of the community

so pixies regularly try to take over fairyworld
is timmy on the pixie side?
At first, Timmy was adamantly against the Pixies. He'd tell Jorgen every time he got a notice of their plans to take over Fairyworld, and work to stop it! But it gets a bit harder to resist against your own court the longer you hang out with them.
In the present time, Timmy schedules to be out of FairyWorld during their takeovers. He doesn't try to stop them, but also refuses to be anywhere near when it happens.
He... doesn't like how he's slowly starting to cheer for them. Or how their arguments are becoming more convincing. Or how he's struggling to recall why he was so against them to begin with.
There will come a point where he becomes an active participant. Timmy worries that it's coming sooner than he'd like.

Just thought about … oh my god. Bakugo’s first real battle with a formidable villain after your kid is born; he’s not exactly “out of shape” (he never quit the gym, routine, etc… just changed it), but he’s thrown down hard in the first couple seconds, and he’s slower to get back into position—taking the time to steady his feet and assess the terrain, pushing out the lil tummy he gained feeding you postpartum delicacies as he cracks his back—
And the villain, god help them, decides to call out to him as they use the few seconds of vulnerability to attack again, screaming, “hey pop pop, don’t tell me parenthood has made you soft! How ‘bout I start calling you ‘daddy,’ too?”
Just as Bakugo’s turning back around with a new fire in his eyes, blood all warmed up, and shooting off to grab them by the throat to end the fight in one single move.

Click for better resolution because even with resizing to exactly the right size, tumblr still hates me
"Look at you! <3"
Squish that angel 'til he happy wiggles.
Look into his starry fucking eyes and tell him you love him.
Or else.

What do you think of this?
https://www.nerdsandbeyond.com/2023/02/22/walker-independence-season-1-episode-13-season-finale-let-him-hang-photos-released/ Do you think they’ll kill off Tom and if they did would it make sense? Ok Tom’s gone, Abby and the rest of the gang are going to stay to fight every Davidson that comes to town?
(link)
Gosh these photos are pretty. They tell us nothing but they sure are pretty.
To answer your question: I don't think they will kill Tom and I think it would be a big mistake if they did.
If they did kill Tom, I think that would be the writers assuming they wouldn't get a second season. They've given Tom too much development and care just to end his story here. I think he's on the verge of breaking away from his family and joining the good fight and the only way I would accept it is if a member of his family kills him for being too rebellious. Because, as you said, the only course of action from there is for Abby and the gang to fight the rest of the Davidsons forever.
I think they're going to suspect Tom is the bad guy as long as Gus is in danger and then, once Gus wakes up and clears up the misunderstanding, there's going to be a rush to help Tom fight Shane and bring him to justice. After that, Tom joins the gang and works as an inside man for them, subtly working against his family and decreasing their hold on Independence.
At least, that's what I would like to see.

Would Machete still be Catholic in modern!AU?
He was raised in a very traditional household, went through a fraught crisis of faith in his teens, became a disillusioned atheist and then eventually more or less made his peace with the whole thing and slid back a little bit to the secular/lapsed catholic territory.
