Bouncing off the "Tav died and Haarlep realized too late they loved them" do you think they'd check to see if their soul got claimed yet from the fuge plane? Either to try and "bring them back" in a sense or just to see them/talk one more time before kelemvor or another god comes to bring them onto the next life?

Hmmm, this is interesting and I like the question. Let’s seeeee.

I think Haarlep would like to attempt it, especially since let’s say, Tav was the only one to treat them like an actual being rather than an object. It was a foreign feeling, and Haarlep’s selfish side wishes to feel it yet again, even if only for a moment.

But it would be so hard, and damn near impossible for Haarlep.

Given that Haarlep is probably under constant watch, any attempt to leave for the Fugue Plane would likely be detected.

Accessing the Astral Sea, and by extension the Fugue Plane, would require either immense power, knowledge of a secret portal in hell -which I’m sure Haarlep knows of one or two-. But someone in Haarlep's position, any of these options would be difficult to achieve without attracting attention.

I could also see Mephistopheles using this whole situation for his entertainment, finding Haarlep's predicament amusing. Mephistopheles would probably offer false hope or impossible bargains, further tormenting Haarlep. Maybe even offering Haarlep a fleeting moment with Tav’s soul and taking them to a portal only to yank on the chains and drag Haarlep back... Or worse, Mephistopheles gaining Tav's soul.

Where I think Haarlep would definitely like the idea and try, it’d be impossible for them. I think they'd attempt it, as part of their chaotic side/ mischievous nature, but would lead to their punishment, and forced to use Tav's body. Tav’s death would probably cling to their thoughts until they perish as well.
