Recess

“Tag! You’re it!” Hazel giggled as she lightly tapped Jasmine on the shoulder.

“Ohoho, you better run!” Quickly the chase turned around, as the pair ran around the playground during recess.

Not too far away, Dev was sitting on a bench watching. He hadn’t really felt like playing today.

It was one of those days where he just woke up on the wrong side of the bed, feeling tired and unmotivated. A little sad.

Eventually Hazel realized Dev wasn’t occupying himself at all. They had thought he was just going to read or play on his IPad or something and that’s why he didn’t want to play with them, but he wasn’t. He was just sitting there, staring off into the distance.

As soon as she realized, she stopped running and pointed it out to the others. They all looked at each other, slightly confused, then walked over to him.

Peri was disguised as a pair of headphones around Dev’s neck. He tried to talk to him, but made no progress, as he just seemed to zone out.

“Hey dev!” The cheerful voice of Winn exclaimed as they walked over.

Dev startled out of his trance. “Huh-? Oh, hey guys.”

“What’s got you all in the dumps?” Jasmine asked, seeming genuinely concerned.

“Nothing. That’s the problem. There is literally nothing wrong.”

Peri spoke up from his position. “Usually I would help, but we’re in public so I can’t come out of disguise.”

At the comment, Hazel perked up, an idea striking her. “Well if you can’t, we’ll just have to do it in your place~” her voice gained a teasing edge, causing Dev to feel nervous. The other two didn’t realize at first, but with a glance from Hazel and a slight nod, they got the hint.

“Uhm- guys- what’re you doing?”

“Tickle attack!” Hazel shouted, pouncing on the ginger and starting to spider on his sides. Winn and Jasmine quickly moved over and held one of his hands each, pulling them above his head, and used their free hand to dig at his underarms.

“Guhuhuys, nohohoho!”

Jasmine just giggled. “Oh, shut up, you know you like it.”

Dev blushed furiously and was unable to cover his face due to his hands being pinned.

“Uhuh- nohoho ihi dohohont! Shuhut uhup!” He flusteredly tried to deny it, stuttering.

Winn smirked. “Don’t lie, Dev~ we all know you do!”

Dev just whined through his giggles, scrambling on the ground. He tried to pull his arms down out of reflex, but no matter how hard he tugged they didn’t budge.

“Ohoho myhyhy gohohod, stohohop tahahahalking!”

“No way! Teasing’s part of the fun~ and doesn’t it make the tickles so much better~” Hazel drawled.

While most of the kids either didn’t notice or didn’t care, continuing to play, a few gathered around to watch.

“Awwww he’s so cute!”

“I didn’t know Dev was ticklish!”

“This is the greatest thing ever!”

“Uhuhughuhuh nohohohoho! Stohohohop ihihit!”

“Not until you feel better!” Winn announced, smiling brightly.

“Peheheople ahahare wahahahatching!” Even though Dev admittedly enjoyed being tickled, he was severely embarrassed knowing they had an audience.

“Hey, there’s no need to be embarrassed! No one’s going to judge you!” Jasmine comforted gently. The audience spoke up in agreement.

“Yeah, I’m super ticklish too!”

“I feel like if anyone was gonna judge, it’d be you, Dev. Good to know that outta the question.”

“Yeah it’s super normal! Pretty much everyone’s at least a little ticklish!”

Hazel decided to be a little mean, smirking. “Oh, he’s not just embarrassed by the fact that he’s ticklish, he’s embarrassed because he likes it.”

“Hahahahahazel! shuhuhut uhuhup!” Dev panicked internally at the reveal. But he was once again comforted by the replies of the group that had gathered.

“That’s not embarrassing! That’s super cute!”

“If I’m being honest, I do too haha”

“Man I’m jealous! I can’t stand being tickled. It’s like my worst nightmare.”

It was nice to know that he wasn’t being judged, but dev was still flustered to all hell.

“Plehehease guhuhuys! Ihi feheheel behehetter, okahahahay?!”

“I’m not sure I believe you..” Winn said, raising an eyebrow.

“Yeah, maybe we should do a biiiiig finish just to be sure!” Hazel chirped, before taking a deep breath.

“Whahahait hahahazel nohohoHOHO!” His protest ended in a squeal as Hazel blew on his tummy. At the same time, the two up by his arms dug in slightly harder, causing him to try and fold over himself, stuck still by the hold on his hands.

“Guhuhuys plehehehehease! Ihihi’m behehehetteher ihihi prohohomihihise!” They all finally released him, smiling at his flushed face.

Finally able to live freely, he covered his face. “You guys are mean.”

“You know you love us.” Hazel retorted, nudging him gently with her elbow.

His nerves still hyped up, he squeaked at the contact, pushing her away. “Noho!”

Hazel giggled. “Ohoops, sorry, didn’t mean to get ya there.”

Just then the kids were all called inside to continue class, and Dev was ready to take on the day, with a smile.

Fairly Odd Parents: A New Wish Tk Headcanons!

I've been hyper fixating on this show recently and I need to share my thoughts.

Hazel Wells:

Lee: -She's about 75% lee for sure, ya girl loves being tickled and getting into tickle fights with her friends and family -Favorite lers are her parents, Antony, Cosmo, and Wanda -She's ticklish all over, but her worst spots are her sides, belly, and neck -Weak to raspberries and nibbles -Loves The Tickle Monster and will often ask for a visit from them -Absolutely adores tickle rhymes

Ler: -About 25% ler, she prefers to get tickles but still enjoys giving them from time to time -Favorite Lee's are Dev, Winn, Jazz, and Antony -She teases in ways that work on her, The Tickle Monster, tickle rhymes, and raspberries galore -She usually uses tickles to cheer people up since it works on her -Usually really good about stopping when asked, but has occasionally had trouble telling when a "Stop" was genuine.

Super-Sizing the Superfamily: A DC Comics Storybuilding Project

So, on a forum I post on, we’ve been working on a storybuilding project. To wit, we plan to envision a selection of Superman and related comic books, if the Superman family was allowed to be even bigger than the Batman family, with multiple Superboys and Supergirls, as well as various other characters. To this end, we are be using multiple different versions of some characters, as well as occasionally decompositing existing characters.

At the bare minimum, I'd like to come up with a set of Superman Family titles (not everyone gets their own book, of course), and plot out a year of storylines, culminating in a Superman Family Crossover. Ideally we'd go beyond that as well, but given how ambitious that goal is, I'm not holding my breath.

The project has hit a bit of a wall ATM, so I figured now was as good a time as any to post what we’ve got so far on Tumblr. With his permission, I am tagging @davidmann95, the Internet’s Premier Supermanologist, to get his opinion, but anyone is free to comment or make suggestions.

We begin with... The "Core" Super-fam. We are making this Kara daughter of the former rather than the latter, born on Argo City, which survived the destruction of Krypton, named for her presumed dead cousin, sent to Earth when the systems keeping the city alive began to fail. **Keeping mostly the S:TAS backstory, with the caveats that the people of Argos were Kryptonian colonists, not a separate species, and that she's a relative of Zor-El's wife Alura In-Ze, with "Kara" and "In-Ze" being common family names. ***Something her ship encountered on her journey to Earth created a duplicate that took even longer to arrive, and was the subject of the previous Superfam crossover. ****The original "Super Girl", magically created by Jimmy wishing into existence a perfect mate for Superman.

-Karen, of course, wears the Power Girl costume. -Cir-El has a distinct costume already. -Linda is rocking the DCSHG look.* -Iara has her S:TAS look.* -I wanna say Nara's wearing one of the Bronze Age-era outfits, but they might be too '70s to really work? -Mae is wearing a somewhat sexier version of the classic look (I'm imagining she's the second-most vavavoom-y of the Supergirls after Karen). -Zara I is wearing the second TV show suit with the pants. -Zara II (Tara?) is wearing the Jim Lee cheerleader outfit. Note: despite both being a miniskirt and bellyshirt, her outfit is notably skimpier than Iara's, with a shorter, lower slung skirt, and a tighter top with...what's the right way of saying there's less of it? This is her deliberately distinguishing herself from her older duplicate's more modest look. *May switch these, IDK.

this whole situation makes me so uncomfortable because would they have done that if chy/ler was there? someone who advocates for lgbt representation and plays a lesbian and was surprised that her character turned out to be one? someone who went to the glaad awards and spent her summer meeting fans and hearing their stories? that’s what real support is. that’s what matters. not this fake ally shit where it only matters when it’s convenient.

i mean. there’s everyone but the first 4 seasons on the show are in midvale and kara is a teenager struggling with the help of her sister alex, winn, james, nia, brainy yadda yadda and we only met lena on s4 (the exactly same thing happened with lois) and they bicker, OH THEY bicker...and its beautiful (kara’s nickname is ‘’midvale’’, of course bc how could lena not call her that?) 

kara gets into the basketball team in her final year of high school (cuz jeremiah and eliza wont ler her use her powers like this, kinda like what happened with clark and north-american football) and winn has the wall of weirdo 2.0. lena gets into the middle of everything weird but somehow they all manage and she doesnt know. 

lena has the same background cuz clark is already superman and lex is crazy as fuck but she is 2 years older than kara like lou and clark are and by the time kara finishes high school with alex she is already in her first year of college

they all study in national city, or try, and lena wants to make good of her luthor name and is getting her phd

kara gets a internship at catco and starts her superhero life by the time alex gets to deo

lena is oblivious, of course, cuz theres no way her clumsy best friend, the one who puts midvale in midvale, is an skilled super-hero. they still bicker, but jealous and dopey eyes get in their way now. its a feeling that is there. theres always a super-villain in town, clark gets by all the time, lois is sometimes with him, making fun of both girls and the obvious attraction.

lena knows how to fight (the same way lois did) and they solve crimes together and its beautiful...and one day kara will tell her, but its not the time yet ANYWAY WRITE IT THE SAME PLEASE...oh, and the one thing that changes is: there isnt an ‘’lana’’ for kara. she dates people but its just bc its the pressure of high school and college. lena also dates ppl bc she likes sex or something, but its just that.

Giggles

Dev was really giggly today.

He didn’t know why, but everything seemed hilarious. He was struggling to keep it together in class despite the fact that all they were doing was listening to a lecture on the history of America.

Everyone naturally noticed the drastic change from his usual attitude, especially Hazel. So, After school when they were doing their usual post-school hang out in the park, Hazel mentioned it.

“Hey dev! What’s going on with you today? You’ve been all giggly!”

“I dohohont know! Everything just seheems funny for some reheason. And I’m laughing even when I’m not finding anything funny!” Giggles littered his speech, making him have to talk around them.

“Well I like it! I wish you were this giggly all the time!”

“Coming right up, squirt!” Wanda winked at Hazel before doing a little gesture with her wand. There was a magical glow around Dev for a moment- but nothing happened.

Hazel looked up at Cosmo and Wanda, “why didn’t anything happen?”

“Well, he was already giggly! So the wish has nothing to do right now!”

“Oh, ok!”

They continued to hang for a minute before they separated and went home, excited to hang out the next day. They were having a lovely Saturday picnic.

“See ya tomorrow around noon, Dev!”

“Seheeehe ya hahazel!”

Dev was wondering the whole time what exactly the wish was going to do to him. Was it just gonna make him find everything funny again? He wasn’t sure. But he was about to find out.

The following morning, Dev woke up and immediately burst into giggles. There was an unbearably tickly sensation in his tummy. It felt like he was being tickled from the inside.

“Whahahahat ihihin thehehe wohohorld!” He wrapped his arms around himself, sitting up and doubling over in laughter.

‘Is this from hazels wish yesterday?’ His mind echoed, barely able to form coherent thoughts because of the fluttery, buzzing sensation.

Peri poofed into the room, hearing the laughter. “What’s going on Dev?”

“Ihihit tihihihicklehehes!!”

The purple wearer raised an eyebrow. “What tickles?”

“Ihi thihihink ihihits hahahazels wihish!”

“Ooohh, that makes sense. Is this gonna happen all day?”

“Ihi dohont knohohow!” All of a sudden the tingling spread to his ribs and sides, causing his giggles to grow.

“Eheeheeehahaahaaa! Ohoho myhyhy gohohosh hahahaheheha!”

After a minute, the tingling died down, but it didn’t stop entirely. It left a light buzzy sensation that made an impossible-to-repress smile adorn Dev’s face, and small giggles to leave him every once in a while.

Over the course of the next few hours, the two concluded that the wish would always leave a bit of tickly sensation in his tummy, making it so he laughed more often and at random things, but that sometimes it would kick up, causing him to double over in rapid giggles until they died down again.

Thank goodness it was a Saturday. But There was still the picnic. And not only was Hazel gonna be there, but so was Winn and Jasmine. And they didn’t even know Dev was ticklish yet.

And Dev couldn’t just not show up. That was rude! And also, Hazel would know why.

“Are you ready to go?”

“Reheady ahas I’m gonna gehet.” He giggled out, unable to stop the flow of laughter from pouring out of him.

Then the two left, although Dev wished to be there so he wouldn’t have to walk. He didn’t want to risk being seen by a stranger in a fit of unstoppable laughter.

The park was always dead, thankfully. That’s partially why the group chose it as a hang out spot. They could use magic without fear of being spotted.

Dev was the last to arrive, and he set down the snacks he had brought. (Some Doritos and snickerdoodle cookies.) then, he sat down on the blanket, giggling slightly

Hazel eyed him knowingly.

“So, Dev. What did my wish from yesterday do?”

Dev blushed but answered anyway. He was hesitant, because Winn and Jazz didn’t know, but he figured they would find out eventually so might as well get it over with.

“I-it’s been… tickling me.”

Winn and Jazz looked on in slight shock. “You’re ticklish? No way!”

Hazel nodded. “Yup! I’ve seen it myself.” She turned to Dev. “How’s the experience been?”

Dev was too flustered to answer, so Peri did for him, explaining what they had figured out over the course of the morning.

“I’m pretty sure he’s enjoying it, too~”

“Shuhuhut uhup!” Dev shoved at Peri, but it lost its bite due to the laughs that littered the sentence.

Winn looked to Hazel and asked, “What exactly did you wish for?”

Hazel smiled in an almost mischievous way. “So you know how Dev was all giggly yesterday?”

They nodded. “Well, I wished that he was that giggly all the time. I didn’t plan it out or anything, it kinda just slipped out, but I’m not complaining!”

Just then, the wish decided that now was a good time for it to kick up again.

Dev’s happy giggles burst from him in a wave, him curling around himself and flapping his hands.

“EEEhehehhahaha! Crahahahap nohot ahahagaAHAIN!” He protested, not really meaning it.

“Oh c’mon~, you say that as if this isn’t fun for you.” Peri teased, causing the already present blush on Dev’s face to grow.

“Peheheri!”

“Whaaaat~ I’m just telling the truth! I’m a horrible liar, Ask my parents.”

Cosmo nodded. “Yup! Can’t lie to save his life.”

Dev was completely disarmed by the tickles, then causing him to laugh and stim and squirm about, dropping any walls he might’ve had.

The tickles buzzed through his whole body, infesting his systems with a rush of dopamine. It tickled so much! But also felt so good! He couldn’t have felt sad if he tried, happiness being flooded into his systems as he laughed and giggled and smiled.

Eventually they died back down again,and they all had fun at the picnic. Winn used Dev’s extra giggly nature to practice his dad jokes, and after a while his stomach hurt in the best way from all the laughter.

As they were all eating dessert, the wish flared up once more.

“Dahahang ihihit nohohoho!”

Jasmine laughed a little. “It’s happening again!”

Everything in Dev was telling him to laugh, unbearable buzzing tickles shooting through his whole torso. He giggled uncontrollably, doubled over slightly while hugging himself.

“Having fun over there, Dev?” Hazel called with a smirk.

“Shuhuhuhush!” Dev giggled out, embarrassed at the teasing.

Hazel staged whispered in response “I’ll take that as a yes.”

After a few minutes, the wish wore off completely.

“Hahaha.. hoo. Wow.” Dev breathed out as it stopped.

“So how was it, Giggles?” Hazel asked with a smirk

“Oh, you think you’re sooooo smug?”

“As a matter a fact, I do!”

Dev laughed once more. “Ohhohoho! It is SO on!”

Little did Hazel know, this was the beginning of a war.

Yeah these are coming out on the same day, cause I got an ask about these two characters!

Jasmine Tran

Lee: -like, maybe 25% lee, she got over her fear of being tickled, but she still isn't the biggest fan of it -It's rare she'll want to be tickled, but it does happen occasionally -Worst spots are her feet, sides, and neck -Actually very ticklish, but it can get overwhelming for her pretty quickly, which is part of why she used to be afraid of it. That and her family tickles her a lot and doesn't always listen when she tells them to stop -Favorite lers are Hazel, Winn, and her grandma who always listens to her when she says she's had enough -She prefers light and soft tickles -Right back tickles sometimes even relax her or make her sleepy

Ler: -Now she's actually a BIG ler, 75% for sure -She much prefers being the tickler as opposed to being tickled -Super playful ler, loves to play as "The Tickle Monster" or tickle chasing, she's probably come up with more than a few tickle games with her friends -Favorite lees are Hazel, Winn, and Dev -Loves a classic "Tickle tickle tickle!" or "Koochie Koochie Koo!" when tickling someone -Super good about not going to far when tickling someone, she hates it with a passion so she checks in a lot and always listens to a stop, even if it's not a serious one -Gives all the raspberries to her friends, she thinks they're silly and funny -Has made up songs about tickling her friends and will sing them while tickling them

Well I got an ask for this and one more, so here we go!

Winn Harper

Lee: -They're probably about 40% lee tbh, they enjoy it, but they much prefer being the one to give tickles -They're not secretive about being ticklish or enjoying tickles, but they aren't super vocal about it either -Not super duper ticklish, but has some good spots that really get them -Worst spots are their armpits, ribs, and the backs of their knees -Favorite lers are Hazel, Jasmine, and their parents -An absolute squirmer, it's impossible to for them to keep still while being tickled, so usually it's a team effort lol -Sometimes loses tickle fights on purpose, partly to let their friends feel like the won, and partly cause sometimes they just wanna be wrecked

Ler: -About 60% ler, they're definitely one of the main tickle monsters in the friend group -Their favorite thing is cheer up tickles, anytime one of their friends is sad, they'll go in for the cheer up tickles (if the other person gives them the ok of course) -Not super verbally teasy, but they like to point out if their lee is having fun and "not really trying to get away/say stop." -Favorite lees are Hazel, Jasmine, and Dev -Weirdly good at telling when one of their friends needs/wants to be tickled
