Omg the "breath catch" in the camilla/leon support is killing me ajdjwkd HE ACTS SO DIFFERENTLY WITH HER... i was originally drawn to leon because of his frankly inappropriate married convo with kamui at the nohr festival of bonds but it goes so much deeper than that... thank you for answering my question!! <3

oh my god i loVE their festival of bonds convo it's so funny. he's so turned on by the fact that he married his sister without technically marrying his sister. coupled with the fact that kamui is frankly the only s support partner he actually has any chemistry with............. that man is a siscon through and through.

i skimmed through that comic book earlier and there was a little more siscon leon actually (with bonus siscon takumi):

there was quite a bit of other vaguely shipcesty things too lol. like m!kamui being sad that he's not close with takumi, so soleil ropes nina into helping. a looooot of camilla x corrin. its quite fun loool

Been thinking a lot about Leo x male!Corrin lately (no it’s not just bc I’m gay, shut up). Like I know the game doesn’t make much distinction between the Corrins other than aesthetically and who they can marry, but I feel like Leo--especially as a kid--would have different opinions on them based on their gender tbh.

Like with fem!Corrin, Leo can excuse their older siblings’ favoritism toward her a bit more, because “oh, this must just be how they treat little sisters.”  Because they also coddle Elise, it must be a gendered thing--little sisters just get treated differently than little brothers.

But with male!Corrin, it’s like “but he’s both a boy and older than me, so why is he getting treated so differently?”  I feel like Leo would resent him more than he would if Corrin was a sister.  He justifies it to himself by telling himself “I’m stronger than he is, so I’m capable of standing alone” but it still hurts, and he’s still jealous.

I’m just interested in the way their dynamics would differ--I feel like the secret envy/bitterness would have a slightly different flavor to it..  Obviously, Corrin’s persistent earnestness wears Leo down and he comes to care about Corrin just as much as his siblings do, but it’s very much against his will at first.

(He still decides to sneak Corrin out of the Northern Fortress to show him a bit of the outside world.  Corrin still disguises himself as a maid in this plan because, idk, that was the only uniform that Leo could get hold of, or that’s what he tells himself.  It’s definitely not because Corrin is just... very pretty.  Unfairly so.  What does he even need to be pretty for?  *grumble grumble*)

Niles definitely catches onto Leo’s little crush very quickly upon meeting him and hearing him talk about Corrin even once, and way before Leo himself has any idea. I feel like Leo is more oblivious to his own feelings for longer if it’s male!Corrin, just because... that’s not how things are done.  He’s royalty, he’s going to marry a woman someday for political reasons, so having a crush on a guy, much less his “brother”... It’s just not a possibility on his radar.  Niles throws him a lot of knowing smirks and teasing remarks that Leo does not understand, but also doesn’t directly tell Leo “hey, you’ve got feelings” because--

Camilla would also figure it out before Leo does, and also likes to smile knowingly and tease him about it.  She finds it fun, watching him puzzle over why Corrin keeps getting stuck in his head, so she told Niles not to tell Leo and just let him figure it out for himself.

Idk, I just have a lot of feelings about them and there’s virtually no mlm Leokamu content that I’ve been able to find, if you have any recs send them to me bc I’m starving here

My full illustration for the @leorrinfanbook! I did vervain, which can symbolize enchantment and protection from enchantment, so I drew Leo and Corrin in a way that highlighted the Vallite curse and Leo’s use of magic to protect those close to him.

Headcanon: They aren’t together yet but romantic tension starts rising between them. The two actually have a impulsive kiss and while they affirm, they do believe it’s best to not focus on it and talk after the war.

I love it! I agree that they wouldn't want to act on their feelings when there are more important matters going on, like a war and the fates (heh) of the people they love. Forrest is the light of my life and Kana is a precious baby, but the babyrealms are just the worst idea in the game and it paints all the parents in an irresponsible light, which is very OOC for many of them, including Leokamu.

They've definitely noticed the tension, especially during times they're alone together working on strategy and things like that, but they've both resolved to "ignore this. Not only because there's no way they'd return my feelings, but even if they did, it's too selfish to act on it now. War is raging. People are dying. Every second we waste, more people could suffer. We have to focus on what's important."

Still, the tension keeps rising. Eventually, each starts to wonder if the other might feel it too. It's the little things--Corrin catches herself staring at Leo's mouth for too long when he's lecturing her on their upcoming strategies. When he catches her staring, he instinctively licks his lips, and both of them flush and look away like they've been burned. (They have to focus on what's important, damn it.)

War goes on. Tensions heighten, both good and bad. Corrin has trouble sleeping, and it's starting to show. Once during a strategy meeting, she stumbles over her words because she hasn't slept in something like 30 hours. A more seasoned soldier seizes the chance to question Corrin's leadership, pointing out her sheltered upbringing and naivete.

Leo is the first to stand up for her, making a well-spoken case for how she's grown during the war and how she has the unrivaled ability to bring others together, how if she's tired, it's from nights spent poring over maps and books so they have as few losses as possible--things like that. Corrin is blushing so hard, and she hopes nobody notices. (She's pretty sure Leo notices, and Camilla too.)

After the meeting, Corrin catches Leo alone. "Did you mean it?"

"Of course I meant it. I wouldn't stick my neck out for people I don't believe in." And he reiterates his points--with more visible emotion this time. It's not a confession, but Corrin feels affection in every word.

She forgets her mantra of focus on what's important. Her conscience is half-asleep. She grabs him by the collar--it's already a little crooked--and kisses him. His mouth is parted in a gasp, and after a second of processing, he kisses her back. It's not quite soft, but it's tender. All those pushed-aside moments, those lingering glances and quiet hopes: they burst to the surface like a flower in the spring.

It goes on a little too long for them to rightfully call it an accident.

When they break apart to breathe, of course Corrin's first instinct is "I'm sorry."

"Why?"

"I..." Well, it's already out there. She might as well just say it. "I--I love you, Leo. But I know we can't. Not right now."

Leo busies himself with straightening his collar, because he knows she's right, and if he looks into her eyes right now, he'd want to be selfish. After so long trying to be the strong one, the one who can stand alone, he wants to indulge in weakness just this once. He wants to wrap his arms around Corrin and never let her go. He wants--

"I know," he says instead, and his voice breaks over the words.

In his peripheral, he sees Corrin hang her head.

"But," he adds quickly, "just so you know... I love you too. A lot."

"Really?"

He chuckles softly. "Corrin, you're all I ever think about." His laughter fades into something solemn. "But that's dangerous right now. There is so much I need to be thinking about, instead of... There is so much at stake. So much resting on us. While we're at war... this can't happen again."

"I know," she agrees. "We owe it to our people to put them first." She smiles at him, tinged with sadness. She knew he'd understand their duty all too well.

"But after the war ends," Leo says. Breathes in. "We can revisit this conversation. If you'd like."

"I would like." She blushes. "I mean--y-you know what I mean."

"Do I?" he teases.

Corrin nudges him in the ribs. "You're the worst."

"Come on. We can't leave them waiting."

(Even though both Corrin and Leo insist to Camilla, when she confronts them individually, that they're not going to start a relationship yet... Leo still comes back to his quarters one day to find a small, neatly wrapped package on his bedroll with a note attached. "Just in case, use these. I'm not ready to be an aunt just yet! Love, your big sister." He'd hunt her down to chastise her, except his face is a vivid shade of scarlet.)
