oh my god i loVE their festival of bonds convo it's so funny. he's so turned on by the fact that he married his sister without technically marrying his sister. coupled with the fact that kamui is frankly the only s support partner he actually has any chemistry with............. that man is a siscon through and through.

I am amazed that we still have ships war in the fandom when freaking Heroes released. People are still fighting whether or not shipping Robin and Corrin with 2nd gen is immoral or not, pedo or not, same things with Byleth and their ex-students and some people are trying to decided whether or not Robin/Exalt or Robin/Tiki counts as inscest because Grimeal blood shares with Divine Blood hence Naga and they are hence blood related and the same thing for even olders games, when heroes created the most amazing amount of crack ships ever. Ever since it released you got all kinds of cross-over/cross-generational kind of pairing. If you think Robicina is breaking bro code, then what about people shipping Lucina with Kriss ? Or people shipping Olivia with Xander ? Heck there is even people shipping Marth with Robin. And the amount of Rufurufu, kamukamu, kamurufu fanart rised from the depth. Not to mention that Warriors was here too to explain why all of a suddent you would find fans using it as a proof that Chromdelia is canon because of her supports with Lucina ! But meh, I am a F!Robin x Leo trash and I have soft spot for M!Morgan x Soleil so who am I to judge ? Though I wish I could tell the Corrincina shippers that Corrin and Robin are technically the same person

My simple answer is because it doesn't matter if it's a daughter (or son) from the future, that's still your child getting together with your best friend and the psychological effects on how that would work and change the dynamics of all the relationships involved is just too much to consider for me personally. Your best friend who was on equal terms with you now becomes your son/daughter (in law) with your future child still around and your present one is back home. I'm sorry that's too strange for my mind to try to process, basic dynamic structure is muddied and my analytical brain can't make it work.

The other ones don't have that giant hurdle to cross, it's just people from different worlds that don't even know each other or anyone else the relationship dynamics would affect. I guess Marth Robin would be closer but even then there's generations between them still not as weird as being with your best friend's child, grandchild would also be odd, you'd have to go a couple of generations before the specific dynamic is broken but once it is, fine no longer strange to me. That's also why Corrincina isn't as odd, might be the same soul but Robin and Corrin are two completely different characters with personality and relationship differences.

Also FRobin/Leo sounds flipping adorable I may be a Leorrin shipper but oooh I can see the potential in that one, cute...

Of all the Nohrian royals, you liked Leo the least. Call it cold hearted, but it was true. Leo was...an anomaly.

It’s not to be mistaken you loved them all equally, and you’d gladly lay your life down for any of them. However, if left to choose who to spend time with, he wasn’t your first choice.

Which is why you were happy to be outside weaving flower crowns with Felicia and Elise.

Of course...what subject should they bring up but Prince Leo.

“I think he’s rather dashing, you know? N-not that I would even consider courtship! I’m just saying he’s sort of handsome!”

Felicia started it, since the three of you were in the midst of talking about the men of the camp.

“You think Leo is dashing?” You dead panned, making her cheeks heat up in embarrassment. “He might have certain ‘appealing’ features, but his personality is the worst!” “Leo’s not that bad!” Elise defended him with a giggle, knowing how prone you were to squabbling with your brother. “He always helps me when I ask, and he never goes hard on me when we have studies!”

“That’s because you’re the baby, Elise. he goes easy on you because Xander would have his head, otherwise.” You mused, making her pout.

“This wouldn’t have to do with his coldness towards you, would it, Princess?” The sweet maid asked, and you thought it over.

“Well, I suppose...I mean-- that is to say, the way he acts around me just shows he’s not what you think! He’s always polite with other women, but me? It’s like I dropped pegasus dung on his boots whenever I so much as look at him!”

“That’s not true!” Elise, yet again, attempted to defend. “He’s not that mean!”

“I’m not one to gossip, but it's true! Leo’s always treated me different from you and Camilla. He’s cold and harsh, and simply put, a bully when it comes to me.” You stated, “How anyone finds him dashing boggles the mind!”

In the background, you thought you heard a branch snap behind you. You swiveled around, expecting to see someone sneaking up on your little group, but no one was there.

“Huh…” You shrugged, brushing it off and placing a flower crown atop your sister’s head.

“What is it, milady?” “Nothing. I thought I heard something. Besides, if you wanna talk about dashing, let’s think about Silas.”

“Ohhh, I could tell you so many stories! This one time, Charlotte and I were…”

You were waiting for your daily training session that afternoon, a couple hours after that lovely break you had.

But to your surprise, it had yet to begin. Your partner, speak of the devil, was Leo.

It shocked you to discover he was not only missing, but didn’t tease you for being late and scold you for it.

“Xander, have you seen Leo?” You asked as he walked by with his training weapon.

“I have not.” He replied simply, though found it strange Leo wasn’t around. “He was behaving oddly, however. Perhaps his disappearance is linked.” “You think so?” You murmured, heading to Leo’s quarters. Whatever he was up to, you’d figure it out. He couldn’t just abandon training.

You huffed in annoyance, finding Leo’s room quickly. You knocked on the door impatiently, wanting to get the session over with.

“Begone. I want to be alone.” He grumbled, making you roll your eyes at him.

“Leo, it’s me.” You called, and could’ve sworn you heard his breath hitch inside.

“What are you doing here?”

“We have a training session, remember? It’s unlike you to be so late. What would Xander say if he found you here?”

“What do you care?” He snapped, making your irritation swell. “I thought I was a cold, harsh bully."

The irritation deflated almost as suddenly as it appeared.

“O-oh...you heard that?”

“Of course I did! Anyone around camp could hear it.”

“Sure...if you were spying on me, Elise and Felicia in the brush.”

“I was not spying-!” Leo suddenly opened the door, glaring at you. But instead of the usual icy gleam, they were almost sad.

“Leo…? Are you okay?” You asked carefully, not used to his sudden burst of justification.

“Why should it matter? I’m just a big jerk to you, huh? A monster of a prince!”

“Monstrous jerk or not, I still care for you.” You pointed out, and he scoffed, stepping back into his room. “Even if we've never been close.”

“And why do you think that is?” He wondered, though the question was hypothetical as the door shut behind you.

“To be frank, the way you treated me always made me feel alienated! Like I was different, and you had to point that out.”

“That isn’t true! You’re just bent on putting me in a bad light!” He barked.

“Oh, please! You’ve always set me apart from the others! Whenever you praised Xander, you scolded me! When Camilla tutored, you listened, but when it was me, you ignored my lesson! And what about helping Elise at every beck and call, huh? When did you ever do something like that for me, huh? Never ever!”

“And you think I did it because of spite?” His voice rose, but you refused to back down. He asked for your piece and you were going to say it.

“You did it because you knew I wasn't one of you, and that I wasn't your sibling! You still do it because you don’t want me anywhere near you and your precious brother and sisters!” You shouted, making him swivel around with an expression you’d never seen before.

“I did it because I wanted you to be near us!” He snapped back, and your eyes widened. “I did it because you aren’t one of us and you should be! I can help you be! It’s my duty to!”

It was dead silent in the room.

You stared at him, confusion written all over your face. He panted, running a hand through his hair as he tried to regain his composure. Used to yelling, he was not.

“I...I thought that because you were so different, you’d have to work harder to fit in. That you’d have to change more to be like us. I knew how lonely you got, always set apart from the rest of us whenever we played or studied. I thought...if you worked hard enough, you’d be driven to change. So I pushed you more, and I was more strict in hopes you’d change enough to be like us.”

“But all that did was alienate me even more. From you, anyways.” You pointed out. You were trying to understand. “I managed to get along with the others all right, you know? I mean, you all wanted me to stay with you, when I had to pick sides.”

“That’s true, but still...I was trying to help.”

“Well...I think your ideology was a little misplaced.” You chuckled softly, walking up to Leo and taking his hand in yours. Even if your little plan to assimilate me did work, I think I’d feel a bit out of place.”

“What? But why?” His brow furrowed and voice plenty softer than it was before. You shrugged, leaning a little closer to him.

“Maybe...because I never wanted to be your half-sibling in the first place.”

“Beg pardon?”

“Let’s just say I’ve never thought of you as a half-sibling. And I never wanted to. But...only you.” You mused, shooting him a wink.

“...Beg pardon?"

“I’m going to the training field.” You turned, heading for the door. “Xander is likely wondering where we are. You wouldn't want to get your dashing self scolded now, would you?”

Leo could only stare after you when you disappeared from his room, heart pounding and cheeks a brilliant shade of red.

“...I thought you said I wasn’t dashing.”

Been thinking a lot about Leo x male!Corrin lately (no it’s not just bc I’m gay, shut up). Like I know the game doesn’t make much distinction between the Corrins other than aesthetically and who they can marry, but I feel like Leo--especially as a kid--would have different opinions on them based on their gender tbh.

Like with fem!Corrin, Leo can excuse their older siblings’ favoritism toward her a bit more, because “oh, this must just be how they treat little sisters.”  Because they also coddle Elise, it must be a gendered thing--little sisters just get treated differently than little brothers.

But with male!Corrin, it’s like “but he’s both a boy and older than me, so why is he getting treated so differently?”  I feel like Leo would resent him more than he would if Corrin was a sister.  He justifies it to himself by telling himself “I’m stronger than he is, so I’m capable of standing alone” but it still hurts, and he’s still jealous.

I’m just interested in the way their dynamics would differ--I feel like the secret envy/bitterness would have a slightly different flavor to it..  Obviously, Corrin’s persistent earnestness wears Leo down and he comes to care about Corrin just as much as his siblings do, but it’s very much against his will at first.

(He still decides to sneak Corrin out of the Northern Fortress to show him a bit of the outside world.  Corrin still disguises himself as a maid in this plan because, idk, that was the only uniform that Leo could get hold of, or that’s what he tells himself.  It’s definitely not because Corrin is just... very pretty.  Unfairly so.  What does he even need to be pretty for?  *grumble grumble*)

Niles definitely catches onto Leo’s little crush very quickly upon meeting him and hearing him talk about Corrin even once, and way before Leo himself has any idea. I feel like Leo is more oblivious to his own feelings for longer if it’s male!Corrin, just because... that’s not how things are done.  He’s royalty, he’s going to marry a woman someday for political reasons, so having a crush on a guy, much less his “brother”... It’s just not a possibility on his radar.  Niles throws him a lot of knowing smirks and teasing remarks that Leo does not understand, but also doesn’t directly tell Leo “hey, you’ve got feelings” because--

Camilla would also figure it out before Leo does, and also likes to smile knowingly and tease him about it.  She finds it fun, watching him puzzle over why Corrin keeps getting stuck in his head, so she told Niles not to tell Leo and just let him figure it out for himself.

Idk, I just have a lot of feelings about them and there’s virtually no mlm Leokamu content that I’ve been able to find, if you have any recs send them to me bc I’m starving here

My full illustration for the @leorrinfanbook! I did vervain, which can symbolize enchantment and protection from enchantment, so I drew Leo and Corrin in a way that highlighted the Vallite curse and Leo’s use of magic to protect those close to him.
