Queen of The Seas
"Before God made you, He knew you, there is no one else like you."
I wrote this poem at the beginning of my Bible journey, or my journey period. Honestly, you can’t look at the natural world and tell me there is no God behind the makings of everything this planet has to offer. When I wrote this, I was thinking of the leopard-print stingrays (called Leopard Whiprays) I saw at the aquarium with my friends. These creatures captivated me like a little girl, the same…

#Leopard Lust: oh yes I freaked at the sight of this leopard #whipray. Took coming to Australia to learn of them. Sadly this little-known species is listed as vulnerable, in large part due to humans. Of course. #leopardofthesea #sealife #marinelife #leopardwhipray #stingray #diamondshape #holiday #SunshineCoast #lavieenrose https://www.instagram.com/p/BztvuxDphPb/?igshid=aydb8fyls097

Daily Ray Facts:
*No rays were harmed during the outing. It was for teaching purposes, then promptly released.*
Southern Stingrays are a species of whiptail ray (like the Leopard Whipray). Large, mature southern stingrays have been known to reach sizes of nearly five feet wide, with tails reaching sizes longer than they are wide. They obtain oxygen from the water using its gills, but its habit of burying its mouth in the sediment provides an obstacle to passing water from its mouth to the gill cavity. This species solves that problem by pumping water through specialized openings – called spiracles – that are located on the top of the head, just behind the eyes.
(photos provided by me from a sharks and rays class, boat trip. Decent photo of that whip tail in action.)
