my short list of things I want from Fate/Extra Record + the likelihood of them happening

Alternate costumes for both the Servants and the Hakunos. Both Extella games have had at least a few costumes for the Servants, and CCC had costumes for the Servants and Hakunos as well. We already know the game devs are implementing new things into the gameplay and story, so why not clothes? On the other hand, they haven't teased anything clothes-wise, which they've never been shy to do with the other games. Likelihood: 6/10

Romance route with Archer. While Archer and female Hakuno are sometimes put together in stuff outside the games (Blossom Sensei, Fate/Extella's backstory) and female Hakuno gets some unique dialogues with him in the games, they've never really been an official couple, certainly not to the level of HakunoNero and HakunoTamamo. This is probably because the game devs don't want to run any risk of players shipping Archer with male Hakuno. They could attempt to sidestep this by making the romance route available only if you select female Hakuno, but a) they might realize that's a bad look, and b) the Extellas made Hakuno's gender almost entirely immaterial to the story, and switchable at almost any point. Likelihood: 3/10

Reincorporate the alternate story paths and endings. If rumors online are to be believed (sure!), along with the Rin and Rani routes, there were originally Julius and Leo routes, as well as a route where Hakuno opted not to save any of her fellow Masters. There also was at least one different ending. I want to see all of these, and even more. We know the devs are expanding the game, we know there's at least one new character, and they've rebuilt everything from the ground up. On the other hand, this would be a lot of work. Likelihood: 4/10

Confirmed American release. Likelihood: I don't know, I'm afraid to speculate.

So, something I was thinking about when thinking about Extella outfit designs for the Extra cast (or at the very least the Student Council of CCC), we had grown up Leo in Last Encore and, unless I'm blanking on it, nobody really reacted to him looking different, especially because he's the only one who looked different compared to the rest of the Extra cast who looked pretty much the same (save for Alice being turned into a monster and Hakuno, Julius, and Twice all having dead face forms). Not only that, nobody really seems to talk about it, even though I'd argue his design in Last Encore is a lot better than his regular design.

I guess technically this is fate/extra rather than fate/go, but

The entire point of hacking was to convince the system it was acting naturally. Li Shuwen had been determined by the Harway family to be the most effective Servant for what Julius needed to do for Leo. He was unparalleled in rapid murder, could work without flashy magic, and his obscurity to the Western world was a bonus--his technique would be much harder for an enemy to identify compared to, say, Excalibur. Their finest spirit hackers had worked tirelessly to arrange that this would be the Servant at Julius's disposal. Assassin's belief was perfectly in line with that.

And yet.

“There are rituals my family uncovered,” Julius began, as if it were being dragged out of him. There was no need for him to prove his Servant wrong. He was merely a tool. And yet. “You were called--”

“Kahaha! You can't think that something with the power of the Moon Cell would be controlled by an old teapot? No. I came because I heard your soul, Julius. It sang, it screamed. And so, like a selfish old fool, I came to you like this, as another wolf drenched in blood.”

Leo in fate extra ccc, and foxtail is SO good. love how he sheds his king persona when it’s just him and 7 ish other people around. love how he just acts like a fool, an actual child, a buffoon, at the prospect of how his actions here will have no consequences to the outside world. absolutely ADORE the way he sheds his child persona when it’s time to be King. could say that he dons back the king persona but i think he really is just a king pretending to be a child and not vice-versa.

Fate/EXTRA Material - Leo B. Harway Information

I was recently commissioned to translate the interview (?) between Wada and Nasu regarding Leo’s appearance in the original EXTRA material book, as well as his information segment near the end of the book. I was really happy I was commissioned to do this since Leo is a favorite of mine, and I completely forgot about the older material books OTL

Nasu: This design is of the Prince of the Stars - if he had a good end. His white Wellingtons…… or rather his white boots, are dazzling…... Wada: At first, I campaigned for a uniform with long shorts and white tights, but of course it was rejected. Nasu: There are times when I think, with all my heart, that Wada is just too good. But what’s with this! The perfection that is 20 year old Leo has defeated this simple mushroom. Why is he so pretty…….! Wada: Thank god I was allowed to give this design a bob cut, I’m so so glad…! Nasu: I’ll allow anything if it allows a 20 year-old to overflow with this much refinement and dignity. This is the natural born king. But forget all about that in CCC.

Leo・B・Harway【Person】

Leo Bistario Harway. He is the strongest Master who participated in the Holy Grail War. All his parameters are at a record high, demonstrating his place as the unconquerable king. (Incidentally, if we compare offensive Code Casts or raw computing power, Rin and Rani outrank Leo respectively. However, even if both Rin and Rani challenge him, Leo’s win rate is still higher.) Although it’s difficult to imagine based on his youthful appearance and calm demeanor, he is the next head of the Harway family, set to rule the world. The Harways cultivated his innate talents (including his Magic Circuits) with rigorous and thorough special education to “complete” the fledgling king. Leo, as the one with hopes of leadership placed upon him, and being in the role of leader himself, there is no one more aware of the realities of his upbringing. A king is not someone that is a product of the world of man, but someone the heavens bestow upon mortals. Those who are born in such a way are said to hold the right of Divine King. The Divine King Leo is that ideal, completed. In order to reach the actualization of living in a regulated society in which the discrepancy in ability that exists between all people is made equal, what is needed is one who is able to cut down their own human emotions without thought while also being full of kindness as a human being. Overcoming this contradiction is a road outside the reach of ordinary people. From the moment he was born, Leo has never known freedom, yet his natural disposition is that of an Übermensch who also possesses a gentle nature.

If the protagonist shoulders the ideals of change or “attack,” Leo is the character that bears the ideals of stagnation or “defense.” Leo himself has no self-interest and merely wants the stability of the world via being under Harway management. His purpose in taking the Holy Grail is not “to become even more powerful,” but for a “reliable stability.” Should the Holy Grail pass into the possession of someone who is not himself, conflicts that should end in 10 years will instead extend to 20 years. ......Even if a Master dispatched by the Western European Conglomerate wins, so long as the Holy Grail is no more than a “national power that an individual can obtain,” it will fan the flames of conflict. To prevent this future, he became a Master and ascended to the moon.

“Repeating changes over and over without having answers will only exhaust humanity. My challenge going into the future is to find a new path of change before the world stagnates completely.”

So Leo says. “The establishment that is the Western European Conglomerate, as it is now, is wrong.” …...Rin Tousaka’s argument was a problem that Leo had already been chewing on. In order to see the path to the solution, Leo prepares for the ruin that will come after the answer. That is why, even if she can see the path to the solution, Rin struggles on to change that answer. Leo’s priority is the survival of mankind, not for the Harways to rule. His ultimate purpose in seeking the Holy Grail is so that people can live with peace of mind into the next millennium. However— Leo, who does not hold negative human emotions, who does not know defeat - and thus knows not the feeling of fear - can’t imagine he might lose. Eventually, he will come to know the injustice of being “human.” He accepted everything as it was. Even in his final moments, that was the essence of his existence— vitality, vibrancy for living, is something he never expressed, even in the face of adversity.

He’s also a Master who appears in CCC. Like Rin and Rani, he fell to the Far Side of the Moon at the end of the fifth round. Although his memory was sealed, BB could not brainwash him and instead locked him inside the Old School Building. (He just can’t go outside.) He establishes a student council, and fully supports the protagonist. Even knowing his memory is sealed, he responds positively, saying, “On the contrary, this is a valuable experience. Things are bound to be interesting, so let’s continue on!” In EXTRA, Leo, by being defeated by the protagonist and learning the reality that “I am not complete,” became the true king, though he was fated to disappear at that moment. The Boy King, who couldn’t even talk to the protagonist because of their difference in values, was able to enjoy his youth on the Far Side of the Moon. By the way, the only people Leo doesn’t give an honorary title to on the Far Side are AI and artificial life. Although he comes off as indifferent to Sakura and Rani, he responds to them sincerely after recognizing their way of being.

is… is Leo not dead in this continuity or is Gawain literally thanking Hakuno for killing Leo in Fate Extra? I mean i guess he’s grateful that we helped Leo figure out his like, life desires or whatever but we also killed him in the process? Is this in reference to something that happened in CCC and not the original Fate Extra?

And mages with benefits too. - We are ambushed by Julius and his Servant. Everyone is raring to go but we get kotoblocked by Kototitties.

- At the Arena we have a confrontation and the Servant said he would only attack in certain intervals - We grabbed Taiga's coin and the cypher key before 100% - Archer is certainly healed and very aggravated by the enemy's invisibility.
